Couldn’t recommend Odyssea more! We had the absolute best experience with Fletcher and his instructors Annie and Trevor. My fiance got his open water dive certification and I did the refresher course. Annie, Trevor and Fletcher all had such good pointers and knowledge that we feel set up for immediate success!Upon our first meeting, we knew we were in the best hands. The crew is so knowledgeable, professional, friendly, outgoing, happy to go above and beyond in everything they do, and just freakin awesome! Fletcher was extremely organized and we felt comfortable the entire process. The pool sessions were straightforward and we were the only class there in a small group. In fact, due to another couple getting sick, my fiance and I were the only ones in our class with Fletcher and Annie! How lucky were we to be able to experience a 1:1 instructing class. All the other classes had 8-10 people… Odyssea has it figured out! And we were able to do night classes which was perfect with our work schedule during the week.The Catalina trip was unreal! So organized from start to finish. Between the van ride up to Long Beach, the boat process and the dives, everything was absolutely perfect! A unique and diverse boat crew with tons of knowledge on the dive sites! Annie and Fletcher were both leading small groups of us through the dive sites and it was perfect (we got 1:1 guide and instructor led training with Annie)! She taught us with ease, guided us through amazing kelp forests, was sure to point out all of the wildlife for us to see and it was so enjoyable. Stunning dive spots picked, beautiful scenery and the best company! I wouldn’t have wanted to go through this process with anyone else. Whether you’re looking for a refresher, open water cert, advanced courses or just friends to dive with… Odyssea is the BEST! Cant wait to do our advanced cert with them next!

Odyssea Adventures by fletcher was one of my best experiences within the dive community to date. Weather you are beginning or experienced he makes each dive feel hand tailored and ensures the maximum enjoyment. I went with him for my advance certification and every step of the way he has made the experience fun and informative. I am leaving this wreck diving trip with a yearning for more. I plan to extend my certification and book any trips that the Odyssea crew does.

I had the best experience with Odyssea. We went to Catalina Island for my wife to get her open water certification. Fletcher didn’t know us, but he kept in contact and made everything go smoothly. He had all the gear and was prepared for everything. The best part was spending time with him and his crew. He was very professional and fun. If anyone wants to have the most amazing diving experience, go diving with Odyssea!

Fletcher was great to work with and accommodating to my groups schedule. He is very professional and made the experience fun and enjoyable. His gear and kits were in great condition and anything not acceptable was replaced. His attention to safety and providing you additional instruction as needed to make your diving experience the best possible is top notch. Amazing experience! All encompassing full day trip to Catalina. They take the thought and stress out of everything, including getting to the boat.Big family culture on the boat as well. I had such a blast getting my scuba certification and so stoked for future adventures.The course consisted of PADI e-learning, equipment, 2 pool dives, a boat dive and a shore dive. Fletcher was very communicative and made scheduling easy which I appreciate. He went over everything with great detail and care, and ensured that we felt comfortable before hopping in the water.The Catalina boat dive was an extraordinary experience that no other dive shops offer when getting your cert! Its hard to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for Fletcher and his team. They go above and beyond and I am in awe with the effort and work they put in every dive. From maneuvering all the equipment, to making sure youre diving in the safest conditions, to showing you how to properly clear your ears (yes I never knew the right way - thanks Fletcher!), to the extensive experience and knowledge Fletcher and his team have, theres really no limit to what you can learn and receive from this dive team. Had an excellent experience getting my Open Water certification with Fletchers crew! Fletcher talked with me on the phone and helped set everything up. In my opinion, if youre not doing the Catalina trip, youre doing it wrong! Get the silver grade package, its worth every dollar! With e-learning, pool lessons, all gear, and the boat day all included, its just worth it for the peace of mind.I got my open water dives off of Catalina Island with Dominic. Dominic embodies the scuba culture - hes energetic, patient, and a great teacher.Im glad I got to experience open water for my first time in the waters of Catalina, and I look forward to many more dives. Im also glad I went with Odyssea, supporting a small business and staying well away from those large group sizes; Fletcher makes sure to keep his class sizes below 5 people so its a much more in-depth and personal learning environment.Ill recommend Odyssea to anyone looking to get their feet wet (and everything else wet too) in the world of recreational SCUBA.

I’ve been wanting to get my open water cert for 10 years, a bucket list item. I’m rather particular about who I choose to share my energy with and who will be a teacher and mentor to me. When I contacted Fletcher, he called and talked me through all of the questions I had and informed me of his sustainability mission. I knew that he was the guy and this was the place. I signed up for the silver tier (open water dives in Catalina Island) and would recommend that to anyone and everyone.Two long days in the pool, but Fletcher showed patience, understanding, and passion for diving. The trip out to Catalina was incredible and I felt prepared and ready to get in the water. Of course, we all get nervous but this was the exciting kind of nervous. When we got to Catalina, Trevor was our instructor and helped us through all of the skills that we learned in the pool. He was awesome, I loved his sense of humor and felt a solid comfort in asking him questions or letting him know about anything that was making me anxious. The three open water dives were phenomenal and the entire trip to Catalina and back (including the crew and the food) was spectacular.Fletch has something special with his team and I’m looking forward to getting more certifications and going on more dives with him and his team.Thank you guys for the incredible opening chapter to a whole different book in my life.

As one of very few dive operations left here in California, I must say that Fletcher and staff are some of my most trusted leadership and some of the best dive training in this state, imho. Their leadership listen to vessel needs and cautions, and many, many times I have had divers from my 20 years running remark on how much time, in water and out, Odyssea invests in its students. I am pleased to have Odyssea on my boats every time. Scuba instruction taught by people that love diving and value their clients.

Odyssea Adventures is a great place to experience scuba diving and professional and patience with their students. Odyssea Adventures put safety first. I had a wonderful experience this week, Dominic & Brooke are excellent Scuba Instructors. I had a wonderful time training at Santee pool facility. I had one on one training with instructor Brooke for a 4 hour refresher course which I recommend for new divers. Instructor Brooke is very good & knowledgeable about Scuba Diving, I definitely left my training better knowledgeable and more confident than I came. I look forward to diving with Odyssea Adventures this summer. Last but not least, the owner of Odyssea Adventures Mr. Fletcher is great & encourage me to continue my education on scuba diving. Mr Fletcher made me feel like family. We had a great experience getting our certification with Odyssea. We had a quick timeline, and Fletcher was very responsive in working out a schedule that allowed us time to get certified prior to our trip to Belize. Dominic and Jasara were great with our family of 5 at the pool training. I also appreciated Fletchers willingness to work with the dive shop in Belize to transfer info to ensure that all of us could get our dives in. I can highly recommend this dive school for fun dives and certifications. The team offers a day trip to catalina Island which is a great experience with high visibility and majestic kelp forests. Such a thrilling (and maybe unique around the world?) experience. The team has great instructors and dive masters and works with a great boat crew that has a crazy amount of snack, drinks and experience. They also have very high quality equipment and nice and new BCDs. Diving with Odyssea by Fletcher is surely a great experience at any time of the year (also in winter with thick wet suits etc.). I only joined for fun dives and didnt get certified here but observing the classes and chatting to people on the boat seems like getting certified here is a lot of fun.

10/10 dive experience thanks to Fletcher and Dom! They’re so awesome and nice and became friends by the end of the day. They’re amazing divers, I felt totally prepared for each dive, they are very relaxed and don’t add any stress to the diving environment, and they run a very safe operation which is imperative with good dive companies. I will refer all friends to go with them and next time I go to Catalina it will definitely be with them! They also know the island so well and pointed out anything you could possibly see in a day diving Catalina. Best dive experience ever. Originally we were going to dive Catalina, but that dive was scrubbed because of bad weather. Fletcher offered to bring us on a dive in San Diego and weather screwed that up as well. Fletcher got us on the boat the next day and we were able to dive the Ruby E and kelp forest. Circumstances were against us the whole way, but Fletcher and Trevor (divemaster) worked to make sure we had an opportunity to dive. They made the experience so much fun, even when things went wrong. These are the guys I want to dive with every time.

Great experience getting re-introduced to diving with Fletcher and the Odyssea crew! Did Open Water Dive certification and several fun dives with another outfit back in 2019, but haven’t dived since then. Was feeling a bit nervous about getting back in the water with such a long gap, but Fletcher thoughtfully nudged me toward a shore dive session at La Jolla Cove with him and a few others finishing their Open Water certification. Had a wonderful refresher dive! Fletcher has struck an excellent balance between safety-oriented professionalism and relaxed fun. His calm demeanor helped ease our collective pre-dive jitters, and his thorough instruction and equipment prep left us feeling confident in our gear, his leadership, and our capabilities. Fletcher and his team are amazing. I did my open water scuba certification with him and his fantastic team. I enjoyed every minute of it from the pool instructions to the actual dives. Fletcher and team are knowledgeable fun and have great storys to share. Its all about learning to be safe and having a memorable experience.I chose to do the Catalina boat trip and it breath taking. We got to enjoy the company of a giant black sea bass on our first dive! I could not ask for a better first dive. Fletch is the man! From the first interaction, he made everything super easy with instructions, scheduling, and communication. He does an incredible job of educating dive safety while also making things fun and entertaining (I’m still trying to learn the bubble ring trick). I got open water certified with Odyssea several months ago and have gone diving with Fletcher and Odyssea instructors multiple times since. Can’t recommend Odyssea enough! For classes, the instructors are all really knowledgeable and patient, and small class sizes help a lot for learning. Definitely go for the Catalina dives if you can! Fletcher really knows how to make a great learning experience and provide opportunities for continuing diving after getting certified.

We had such a wonderful time diving with Fletcher! It had been a while since we had last dove, and Fletcher went back through the basics as a refresher before we went out on our first dive of the day. Fletcher has a calm demeanor and really makes you feel comfortable before and during your dive, no matter your experience level. The best part is he makes the logistics so easy! We were coming from out of town and he showed up with all the gear right next to the beach where we were going to begin our dive. We would recommend Fletcher to anyone, as his deep experience and knowledge (literally) is reflected in how smooth and enjoyable our day was exploring the La Jolla cove with him (seeing sea lions feet away, vibrant fish and even a small shark).

Not only were they able to accommodate our tight schedule, but the personalized training was above and beyond. Had the best experience getting my open water diver certification through Odyssea by Fletcher. Right after buying my classes I had a quick 5 minute call with Fletcher where he went over everything about what to expect, timelines, and next steps. We then finished the courses/dives over 2 weeks without a hitch.The dive days were also extremely flexible so we weren’t tied to squeezing everything in over two Saturday and Sunday’s. A couple of my friends and I were planning a trip to Hawaii, and all of us wanted to get PADI certified (PADI is the worlds leading scuba diver training organization) to be able to dive on the trip. So, I began researching all the local San Diego scuba diving companies, reading reviews, and making phone calls, all while trying to manage our budgets. We were looking for good quality, a professional agency, smaller classes where you wouldnt be with 10 divers to 1 instructor, and where we could get our PADI Open Water Diver certification within a months timeframe. That was a lot to ask! I found a lot of the scuba schools/companies were 1. really expensive with extra fees and 2. booked during the time we wanted to schedule.Then, I found Odyssea By Fletcher, a local San Diego small business that offers all levels of PADI scuba certifications AND also supports conservation efforts across the globe through Project AWARE (bonus!). Being one who loves the ocean and supports these kinds of efforts, it was a easy decision to look into this company further. I contacted them and spoke with Sam Fletcher, the owner, who explained the cert process and scheduled us within a week.We started on our Open Water Diver certification journey with online PADI courses and then two in-person pool lessons/classes. Fletcher is an extremely qualified, organized, and professional diver, who ensured that we were ready for each step along the way. Some friends are not as comfortable in the water in general, and Fletcher really made sure that we progressed at our speed and helped us overcome some water anxiety. He was so patient with us (on multiple occasions)! If one of us needed more time to adjust or practice a skill, he was right there encouraging us and helping us master the skills. He has such a passion for diving, teaching, and helping others really understand and get it right before the ocean dives. We really appreciated that a lot about him, and also that he was flexible with the scheduling due to weather and work conflicts. We had zero scuba experience going into this so the personal attention, genuine care, and thoroughness we found really valuable. Additionally, we got to try on different types of gear during the training, all being really high quality, brand new BCDs, etc., that helped us also determine what style and type of gear we want to get for ourselves later.After the pool dives, we went to La Jolla Cove for the open water dives -- the conditions were not the best at La Jolla Shores one day. Even though there was a strong current, the visibility was much better and we ended up having really great open-water ocean dive experience, completing all the tasks. We also were joined by a group of sea bass (I think), who chilling on the left and right of us, were very intrigued by the three of us air breathers and inched closer every few seconds. We also saw Garibaldi and other little colorful fishies close to shore.Overall, we are thrilled to be certified and super happy we went with Odyssea By Fletcher. He even took a picture of us underwater with his GoPro camera, which I am excited to see! I will definitely be back to get more advanced classes through them once I get a few dives under my belt in Hawaii. Diving with Fletcher and the whole Odyssea team was so much fun and such an amazing experience. I did the Catalina three dive trip and as a certified diver it was great fun and very calming to dive with Fletcher guiding the way at some of the most stunning diving sites I have ever been too. Not having dove in a few years and my first time cold water diving, as well as being 19 years old and on my own I was a little nervous but I had such a blast. An absolutely wonderful experience. As a new diver, I started the class with nothing but basic snorkeling skills. From the foundations of understanding the dive equipment to getting comfortable with breathing techniques, Fletch walked us effortlessly through each step of becoming a proficient diver.By the time we were twenty feet under in the La Jolla Cove, watching the sunlight slant down through the kelp and sea lions dart around us, we were totally confident in our abilities as freshly-minted open water divers.Fletch had done a tremendous job up to that point on each stage of our training, making sure we knew our equipment, what to do at the shore, how to enter the water, when to go under, and how to calmly deal with any issues that arose. Being under twenty feet of water is something to take seriously, and Fletch does a fantastic job of making you feel completely secure in your dive abilities. Would highly recommend for anyone who is comfortable in the ocean and would like to add a bit more depth to their usual summer adventures.A starting class leaves you with a PADI certification for open water diving that allows you to scuba anywhere, with a buddy. Fletcher and his scuba team are flexible and a blast to be around. I am in the Navy and have a hectic schedule. He was very accommodating, shifting training dates for me and making sure I could get certified in a timely manner. The Catalina boat trip for the final dives was an amazing experience and Im so thankful Fletcher suggested it to me when I first booked my certification because I did not realize it was an option. Highly Recommend Odyssea by Fletcher if youre interested in learning to scuba dive. Certification requires a Swim Test, an Online Learning Portion, four Pool Dives (2 days), followed by four Open Water Dives (2 days). My certification took a little bit longer than usual but I have zero regrets with hiring Odyssea by Fletcher to see me through itAfter being certified; I was finally talked into a trip to Catalina Island for my first official dive after being certified. We came to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends and Fletcher was amazing and so was his boat! The boat has everything you need to have a great time including an amazing sound system. The inside has a mini fridge a bathroom and cooler to store anything you bring! Besides all the amenities the boat has Fletcher really is the biggest cherry on top to this experience. I was initially on the fence about getting certified, but Fletcher’s quiet confidence and relaxed, enthusiastic vibe were infectious and immediately reassuring. He should give a masterclass on teaching - he breaks down intimidating skills into easily done tasks and is quick to give helpful cues and specific feedback. I didnt get my Open Water certification with Sam but I wish I had. He did my Advance certification and we are now doing my Rescue certification. Sam is an amazing teacher and having the private classes with him is an experience you wont get going through a larger organization. For my Open Water certification I was in a class of ten however for my Advance it was myself and two other people. Having the smaller class size really helps you understand the skills while being more hands on. Because of a ear problem I was unable to finish the course. Fletcher was completely understanding and gave a full refund. Im sure some companies would fight this but I feel Fletcher truly wants he students to love scuba. I appreciate that and his efforts to work with me. TY

Fletcher and Chris are super awesome and fun instructors. They really are patient with the people they teach and make sure you know the knowledge of what keeps you safe. They’ll work with you through struggling I know I struggled a lot and are really supportive!

110% recommend getting certified with Fletcher! He is so rad and makes the learning process fun while being really informative. If there is a Catalina dive available do it!!!! It is so worth it!
