Excellent station and nature center with many interesting displays. Must stop before you explore the area. Helpful staff can answer and direct you to the right direction with maps of the area & nearby state parks. A little off to the side of the parking area, there are clean restrooms & shower rooms. Highly recommended!

We did the mini ranger program with our 2 and 4 year old kids. Ranger Sharon was awesome with them. You call tell she loves her job and all the kids.The superbloom right now is unreal and really worth the trip.

First time visiting and its not going to be my last the ranger’s were awesome very knowledgeable about every question i asked, some of the cleanest restrooms and showers i have ever seen, great place to experience what this desert has to offer can’t wait to visit again

This was our first time visiting Ocotillo Wells and the Ranger station was the best. They are great with children. They have numerous displays of local wildlife. Highly recommend to visit the ranger station.

The Rangers at the Ranger station were very helpful on giving us recommendations on what to see, we did light off-roading in our older 4 runner (theyre the best!) and had a great time! Thank You Ocotillo Rangers!

Love everything they offer here. Great for your little ones who get antsy at camp and need something to do. Staff is helpful, kind, and fun. They have tons of programs and activities that are sure to engage you and your little ones. Highly recommend their junior ranger program and their stargazing.

Perfect area to stage or park if you’re not taking your rig out. Has restrooms and plenty of activity so your truck or car will be safe. Right off the highway and the start of great trails.

We stopped by their office today out of curiosity and were impressed by their friendliness, wealth of information about both the neighboring state park and their own vehicle recreation area. The nature displays were some of the best yet. I highly recommend stopping by if you ever find yourself in the area!

The facilities are very clean and the flush toilets were a welcome surprise in the middle of the desert. The ranger station is only 14 minutes away from Hawk Canyon which provides a more secluded camping experience on the Desert Park side.

The ranger station at Ocotillo Wells is a terrific help if you are visiting town for the desert bloom as I was. The station has tons of pamphlets, maps, and guides for what to see in the desert. Linda was the ranger in for the morning, and she was able to give us hints for what flowers were in bloom where and what we could easily get to in our 2WD vehicle. The 0.3 mile walk outside the station was fantastic and I recommend it of you want a quick rundown of the usual plants in the area.

Perfect starting point for any off road adventure. Dispersed camping at no charge. Restrooms available. Coin operated shower available if needed. Wonderful dark sky area.

A true oasis in the middle of desert. Toilets, showers information desk. Perfectly safe place to have a break from the long trip you must be having from either directions. Look for this station, you won’t regret, there is no where else anyway.

I work at the OWSVRA. I wouldnt say its a tourist attraction. You have to be self contained, with regard to entertainment and food. Dont expect to go shopping, for anything. What you can expect is plenty of space to get away from it all! I mean, the traffic/lights, neighbors, the constant hum of city type activities sirens, etc. You can expect to see the constellations at night, hear the coyotes, occasionally, and plenty of absolute silence. Or, if you are like the thousands of people who come to enjoy our 88 k acre, off-road vehicle heaven, you will find yourself in excellent company!

This is a wonderful place to spend a few weeks in the Anzr-Borrego Desert. It gets busy on the weekends with dune buggies, sandrails and dirt bikes but by Monday is quiet. There are ample trails to explore in 4x4 vechiles.
