We went out on a Whale and dolphin watching experience. Awesome Awesome Awesome. Also enjoyed some sordfish and chicken Cesar salad at the little Italian restaurant. Of course we brought home some amazing salt water Taffy from the Sweet shack too.

The Pier is a beautiful scenic place to walk, sit and contemplate. The ocean and sky views are breathtaking. This is always a highlight for me when I visit Oceanside! I recommend a cane for anyone who is unstable walking and a light raincoat because of the misty air.

It was a very nice place to sight see and walk around. There are a few restaurants to eat like Joe Crab Shack, Harbor Fish & and Chips, to name a few. Theres free 4 hour parking as well. Enjoy my friends.

This place was great. We walked the docks, we had some lunch, which was terrific by the way. We checked out the gift shops. We walked down to the beach and took a few photos. The weather was perfect. There were a variety of places to eat and/or snack. There are a couple of places along the pier itself to buy gift items. There were a couple of gift shops in an ice cream shop. The water was beautiful, the view was spectacular. I loved seeing all of the boats. The people we came across that worked there, we’re very friendly. It was a great afternoon to enjoy by the shore.

Its a solid four star experience but its best if you come here for a meal otherwise there aint much to do unless you are departing from the marina. Theres a faux lighthouse for pictures, an architecturally interesting Joes crab shack (cantilevered design) and the marina. The fish and chips spot was drawing lots of attention during my visit. Theres a coffee shop with great marina views and some weak souvenir places.

Oceanside Harbor Village is a must for visitors and local people. We visited late in the afternoon and luckily found a parking spot just across the sidewalk from the water. Numerous restaurants along the water front. I would use Google maps to find out what the dining options are and the hours. We finished our dinner and had great views of the sunset setting behind the masts of the boats. There were also numerous gift shops for souvenirs. I would plan on sending 3 hours to visit Oceanside Harbor Village.

I was born and raised in California but now reside in Colorado. I was blessed to have a two week vacation in San Diego and was invited to lunch at the Oceanside harbor. I got to walk around the harbor and take pictures. It was a kind of overcast on this day so the pictures arent as good as they could have been. I feel like this is an excellent spot to visit. There are restaurants, gift shops, lots of places to visit while youre there. The scenery is beautiful and the walk around the harbor is amazing. I highly recommend this for an easy day for the whole family. You could even take a picnic lunch and sit on the grassy area.

I love the harbor. If you are looking to take a sailboat ⛵ ride, look up Bobby Watkins with Ahoy Matey Sailing Charters. He is a very friendly and knowledgeable captain. He may even let you take the helm!Hes also very funny, I guarantee youre going to have the best time with him!!

Lovely place to visit. There are several places to park. Parking spots are harder to find on weekends but available. Great place to walk around the harbor, watch people and boats. Visit some of the establishments, my faves being Joes Crab Shack, Rocking Baja Lobster, Tony’s

Went for the annual Harbour Christmas Boat Parade. It was a nice night. Lots of boats all decorated up, some with Christmas music playing. Sat at a table right by the water and had dinner while watching the parade. We did have to wait about 30 minutes to get a table so go early if you want to eat outside by the water.

Love walking around the harbor. There are fishing charters you can take. There are several restaurants to choose from. An ice cream shop and several other places to shop for souvenirs. Great views of the harbor in a nice place to take your wife or family to relax and enjoy a good meal.

We love coming down to the Harbor! Great coffee at the Nautical Bean and the cutest candy/ice cream shoppe for the kiddos. Very new england feel. Great walking sidewalks all the way around the harbor. Favorite place to bring the dog, kids ride scooters and I walk!

This is a really nice place to visit. We came through because we were having a board late night. We walked around the harbor. It was a very serene experience. We thought wed see more Christmas decorations on the boats but it was still beautiful. We walked over the bridge and stroll by some of the community holiday lights. I love this little harbor. Reminds me of a Time passed.

We took our parents here for their 60th Anniversary and it was fantastic! Our waitress, Irish was a delight and extremely good at her job! The manager was so sweet and very accommodating to our large group. The food was delicious!!! We sat on the serene patio that looks out on the harbor! Five star plus!

Would have been a five but someone parked in our parking spot. When reported to security, I was told to park somewhere off property because they were too busy to deal with the illegal parked car. When they finally did, they had the wrong person move their car. Because we couldn’t park in the spot we were assigned, we were constantly worried about our car being towed due to the many signs that say they will tow. Spoke with other guests who stated that they had parking issues as well. The condo, however, was amazing and we would stay there again.

Harbor Village is a great place to stroll around the harbor, look at restaurants and shops, view wildlife like sea lions and shore birds. You will see folks strolling all day long and many out walking their dogs. You can rent boats, other sea craft, jump on a boat to watch whales and dolphins or charter a boat for fishing. There is a beautiful beach nearby with playground equipment for children and lifeguards on duty. This is our first time staying in Oceanside and its approaching Christmas and many of the boats are decorated for Christmas! The harbor is great for walking, picnic, bike or paddle board. Check out the restaurants, you can go cheap to higher priced but all delicious. You can book excursions for whale watching. You can go to the beach, have ice cream or stop at Tonys for a drink.

Oceanside Harbor Village and restaurants on the harbor has been my favorite place to visit in North County San Diego for over 20 years! Love taking kids and visitors to see the barking seals basking on the docks. The best time is late afternoon to watch the beautiful sunsets over the many kinds of boats and Happy Hour Menus offer good food and beverage choices at great prices.

Anytime youre in the area, Oceanside Harbor is the place to be. Oceanside has a lot of rich history, and they have everything you need. All within walking distance between the harbor and the beach, you have all kinds of shopping and food! If you happen to stroll along the harbor be sure to keep a close eye out you just may spot a Sea Lion, or baby Nemo along the rocks on the shore Enjoy your day, and go see some wildlife.

What an awesome marina, plenty of food and drink options, waters are clean and views are awesome. You can hear the crys of harbor seals in the distance, and boat horns as they enter and exit the harbor. So relaxing and peaceful.

Camping in the harbor with my little teardrop trailer. Backing in is not allowed. If trailer stays connected to car, you just pay for one. The spots on the outsides are typically long enough for my car and trailer, but spots in the middle are not (short by mere inches) so I needed to pay for two spots. The machine has been updated to have you enter your license plate for your parking permit, so no trading off cars when friends visit. You arent renting a spot but renting for a specific vehicle. There are no reservations. Many arrive days early for labor day weekend but two of us were able to get spots waiting until 9pm on Friday night when some who were there for just the day left. No tent camping. Mostly RVs, and the generators got loud for friends in pop-ups. Sound wasnt too bad in my wooden trailer, but I also wear earbuds to listen to music at night. Theres a deli/store steps away. Restrooms, the outdoor beach shower, plus all of the restaurants and shops in the harbor in walking distance. There is also kayaking in the harbor. Some rode bikes just outside the harbor where there is a gas station and a Dennys which might be as much as a mile away, but one could walk there. You can hear the sea lions and smell the salty somewhat fishy air on the Harbor side. I love it! There is a lot of sand. There is plenty of space on the beach mainly because there isnt sufficient parking. There is a free parking lot near the shops at the harbor, but it seems further when carrying all of the beach stuff. Many drop off family and stuff and then go park. Guests for people camping also frequently park in the free parking and walk over.

This place is amazing. The mood in there is super nice we went for breakfast and left knowing we will be back soon. All staff is friendly and more than happy to help accommodate for our infant. Food was amazing and it came out fast. We will go back soon. Is the perfect place to have breakfast and then head to the beach. A very recommended place.

My favorite beach area to go to. Nice sand, plenty of smooth concrete sidewalks as Wifey was in her wheelchair. Lots if places to eat. We even checked out a beach wheelchair from the lifeguards.

Great clean and what seems organized harbor. Good choice of restaurants and entertainment. The parking lots are always full and get there in a timely fashion. Slips look full and very crowded with many yachts and day cruisers. The fishing pier was awesome and not too crowded had to stop and let the kids cast off a few times and enjoy the beautiful day. Parallel parking along the harbor was not to difficult to find. The harbor also has a hotel at the end of the west road.

Oceanside Harbor Village has its pros and cons. Sunsets are very beautiful, it’s a good place to do birthdays or get-togethers. They have a variety of different restaurants and shops. There’s also multiple places to take photos if you’re into that sort of thing. There are quite a few officers that patrol of the area. There is a police station over by the Jolly Rogers as well. There’s multiple places to go fishing, you have the little pier in the harbor, you have the two jetties, and then you have your option to do some deep-sea fishing on the charter boats. There used to be a lot of trash in the water, but the city put these basically floating dumpsters in the water which does an awesome job in getting rid of all the floating plastic. In the summertime it’s very very busy. Parking is hard to find, dining usually has a long wait, and you have to always keep your eye on your stuff, because people will take it in a heartbeat. In the wintertime it’s the exact opposite. There’s hardly a crowd, parking is very easy to find and dining is super quick. There are still leaves that will walk around, so always keep your eye on your stuff. For surfing, the harbor is a great place to practice. You have to be careful in the summertime as there are lots of stingrays around… Including jellyfish. Other than that it’s a great place to go for a sunset view or just to hang out.

This area holds a nostalgic place my heart and has done well to keep up with the times. It caters to many with venues such as The Nautical Bean to grab coffee/ tea and pastries, to casual dining such as Fish and Chips or Rockin Baja, and offers more formal dining like th Lighthouse Oyster Bar (great HH and desserts here!) as well. Joes Crabshack is a reliable chain that your family is sure to love, and of course there are a few gift shops/stalls for souvenirs, sweatshirts, blankets, hats, toys, and trinkets.Marina Del Mar is to the west of te marina/harbor, between the boat docks and the beach. If you go towards the north side of the harbor youll find the Oceanside Broiler which has an excellent happy hour starting at 11.Tonys Bar (amazing Bloody Mary!) and Rising Sun Sushi are on the back of the quaint little shops and everybody loves to visit the Sweet Shop after dinner or during their stroll through the area from their rental/residence. For the active types, you can rent a kayak or paddle board, and if you like to fish there are regular tours/tickets on fishing boat trips.If youre staying at the pier, or in one of the many nearby vacation rentals, the Harbor is worth the walk!

Beautiful harbor. Very clean place. Cute little gift shops around the harbor. I would recommend to go to the gift shops. They have really cool and unique stuffs. I bet you, you won’t be able to stop yourself from buying anything. There a lot of eatery’s as well. If you like sea food then you have lot of good options to go. Clean, beautiful, small walk around the harbor. Oceanside beach is just a walk away from the harbor. So you can park your car at harbor or beach and can move around by walking. Which is quite convenient. There are enough places to free park your car. Good gateway for small vacation.

We came here in July for lunch with one adult & three kids and ordered The Big Baja Bucket, salad & fried calamari to share. It was plenty of food and even had leftovers. Seafood was fresh, cooked to perfection, and delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed it. Will definitely be coming back again if opportunity arises. We sat outside, but there was indoor seating also. There were cute decorations & humorous quotes all throughout the restaurant that we enjoyed

Its fun to go down to the Harbor and walk around. You will have to pay for parking unless you park on the street by The Boiler, or the free lot that requires extra walking. You can even park for up to 5 days on a couple of the Harbor Lots, but its not cheap. Its a scenic little place where the docked boats bob in the water while sea lions and pelicans search for tasty snacks. The beach access is close. There are many gift shops. You can choose one of the many restaurants to have a bite. I recommend Harbor Fish & Chips, The Lighthouse, and The Boiler has a lanai where you can watch the sunset with a Mai Tai. If you just want drinks you can hit up Rockin Baja or Joes Crab Shack. Tonys is full of locals, has a decent jukebox but its small, usually crowded, and they serve beer and wine only.

We got the Love Bucket with lobster tail and crab cluster in it. It also came with guacamole as appetizer and a fried ice cream as as dessert.The lobster and crab tasted fresh. The appetizer and dessert were both excellent.Four star only because the salsa bar items were not fresh, especially the radish. We both spit it out after one bite. Also the ridiculous 5% surcharge the told me was added for the maintenance of the business park.

Joes Crab Shack had always been a beautiful decadent mini vacation for me. Now, the food and service have gone all downhill. I went yesterday with a good friend. We waited 10 minutes in a dead restaurant to be seated. We waited another 10 minutes to get our drink order. He got mine wrong. He brought me a frozen drink, which I kept. I went through 3 of their paper straws because of the frozen drink.The crab legs were bland and not cleaned very well.I got very sick when I got home even after trying to be careful.I need to find another crab shack

Very cute little area with shops and some walking with harbor sights and boats.Stratford is the go to restaurant for breakfast, but theres also a fish and chips joint down here thats pretty great.Theres sea lions pretty routinely in the harbor if you follow the water of the harbor to the north.

This place is so much fun there is lots to do from BBQ to fishing Swimming in the ocean. You can spend the night in your camper, motor home, toy hauler, the bon fire ring are open all night. Restaurants are just a hop skip and a jump. This is great for the whole family or even for just you and your honey to get away from home and watch the sunset and sunrise they are such breathtaking moments.

My cousin visits from New York every year at this time and she wanted to go out onto the beach and she did and then we walked along the boardwalk and looked at all the beautiful boats. Great place to have a quick bite and a pitcher of cucumber margaritas to share. Service is always amazing, however they did remove the canopy from outside sitting and it made it pretty unbearable to sit in the sun. So we drank our margaritas and appetizer, and had l7nch somewhere else, it was just too hot.

If you do not have a boat or are not going out on a chartered fishing boat then there is not a lot to do here. STILL.... the atmosphere is lovely. There are many seafood eating opportunities. You can use the South Harbor for parking, trinket shops and for gaining access ro the ocean sand and boardwalk. Personally, I like looking at the boats.

Ate at the Lighthouse Restaurant after a walk on the beach and watching a surf competition for a while. Excellent food and service! The seafood was fresh and delicious. Whats not to love about the Oceanside harbor? - - Calm water just begging for you to take out a paddle board or a kayak and explore.- Lots of great places to eat. Everything from seafood, to Italian, to Mexican cuisine.- A couple of really cool dive bars- And the most gorgeous sunsets youll see southern California.Parking can be a challenge at times, make sure you either come early or you park and walk from other locations around the harbor. Whatever you do, please do not park in the boat slip parking spots. You will most definitely get fined and its just not worth the risk.Outside of that, bring your pets, bring the kids, bring the family and have a picnic at the tables located near the docks & keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and seals that like to come in

This was a great place for our first time in the ocean! We bought a swimsuit at one of the shops here, and it was cute and inexpensive. There were restaurants that all looked like they had amazing food and shops with great souvenirs for travelers like myself. I love coming to this beach! I will sometimes come to relax with a cup of coffee from down the street and a book on my hand. Other times this is the starting point to a good run to the pier. I have also gone kayaking, had bond fires, and of course some sun bathing and enjoyed the sea. By far this is one of my favorite beaches to go to when I need to get away and have some peace and quiet.

The beach is very family friendly, it even has a playground on the beach. Also there is a wonderful weekend event, called Harbor Days that you cant miss. If you have kids sign them up for surf camp or junior life guards, you wont be disappointed.

Have been watching this place decline steadily over the past decade or so. Food is inconsistent and quite terrible in some of the restaurants. Many of the old shops have gone out of business, and there is little left to do now aside from the whale watching charters, eating at spotty restaurants, and soaking up the general marina atmosphere. Nonetheless, visitors continue to flock there, and somehow, the village lingers on. I would love to see it make a resurgence and become a fun, vibrant, and healthy environment once again.

I spent day at the beach. Came into town by Metro Link. Access to beach by foot at my age was a challenge. Lots of steps. Ramps are available but they are twice as long as the steps. The weather was awesome. The beach was clean. The water was refreshing. Lots of lifeguards. Lots of nice people. Bathrooms were under construction. Portables were available. I would recommend for the fit. I think I have at least two more visits in me.

Pretty cool little hang out with tourist trap restaurants and bars. Besides the skinny sidewalks and not so roomy passages to get to the shops and restaurants, the place is pretty cool to explore for an afternoon. If you have been to Huntington Beach or Laguna and expecting anything similar, you will be disappointed. If you want to find parking during the middle of week and go to the beach and hang out for lunch. This is the place.

We love Oceanside Harbor Village! You can enjoy a glass of sangria with an amazing calamari steak appetizer at the Lighthouse. Rockin’ Baja has an assortment of margaritas to go with their delicious tequila shrimp appetizer. Harbor Fish and Chips has the best fish and chips in town, so I’m told. (One of us is not a fish eater) Breakfast at Stratford’s with a water view is a great way to start any day. Dominic’s has a gnocchi that is close to Nonna Nonna’s. Joe’s Crab Shack offers their well-known menu in a building that hangs over the harbor. On the backside of Oceanside Harbor Village are a couple of popular places. Tony’s Sports Bar has a 22-ingredient Bloody Mary we are dying to try. Rising Sun Sushi opened last year but we have yet to try it. (see earlier fish comment.) The little shops have great trinkets and local Oceanside gear. Whale watching with Oceanside Adventures is one of our favorite things to do, along with renting kayaks and spending time out in the harbor, on the water. Nautical Bean Coffee has yummy chocolate whipped cream to top off a hot mocha ordered to keep you warm as you walk the harbor on a chilly, winter day. There is plenty of free parking between the lots surrounding the Harbor Village and the large lot across the street.

Came to see the sea lions and caught the sunset. The sea lion area was a bit stinky but its the harbor, with sea life in and out of the water so... Catching the sunset wasnt planned and if it was then Id have more to say about that area. But what happened was, my husband quickly parked, I jumped out and ran towards the sand and took some pictures and video of the sunset. Wasnt the best quality due to rushing and the sun was setting fast. If Imin the area again, Id plan it better. Get there sooner and set up for it. It was a beautiful scene though, even with the clouds.

We come out to Oceanside everytime we travel to San Diego. The beaches seem to never be to packed and the town is run very well, kept very clean. We like the mix of the pier and the harbor. We lucked in and came this weekend and attended its annual habor day. Was a great time and the pirate theme was super fun. Loved all the armed services that came out and participated as well. See a U.S. Navy hover craft depart was worth the 40mins of restricted swimming. All around a great place for all day activities between the pier and harbor. Oceanside really deliveries for their town.

Dominics has always accommodated us, no matter the party size... weve been a party of 4 and a party of 12. Weve waited a max of 25-30 min to be seated, and have nothing but great things to say. Love this place! A few fun little touristy shops. Lots of restaurants and water activities. Highly recommend the whale watching tour. We went to Joes Crab Shack. Highly recommend the blackened salmon there, the cheese brick, garlic bread, fries burger and pasta for the kids.Also recommend Dominics Italian food. Pleasant to sit out on the patio when there arent tons of people. The food was more authentic italian so guess thats why theyre pricy. I liked the lasagna(lots of cheese) but actually liked the pizza better. While grandaughter enjoyed the kids penne pasta. AND their antipasto is humongus and amazing. Loved it at the restaurant and at our timeshare.One note, though, please make sure you ask for your credit card. To be honest the waitress didnt bring it back and hand it to us. My husband thought she must have and we left. The next day my husband called the place because its the last place he remembered using it. He goes back and the waitress had a handfull of credit cards and said which one is yours. Apparently we arent the only absent minded ones. We tourists!Anyway on Fridays and Saturdays they have a band playing at the bar. We stayed in the hall and danced. So fun!

After traveling down Highway 1 for 3 days we ended up staying at Oceanside Marina, in Carlsbad.I got a great last minute reservation deal.The room has beautiful views, has a separate bedroom from the front room, and friendly/helpful staff.You have to pay to park everywhere though. Parking for the room cost $15, that doesnt include other parts of the Marina and beach, they are separate parking depending on the lot you need for the day.I appreciated the washer and dryer available. And the hotel was willing to provide 2 loads of Tide.I would stay here again.Its also a safe place to stop off of Highway 1. Unlike the majority of towns you drive through on that road.

This place is AMAZING! With a plethora of places to eat and see. Our trip included watching 4th of July fireworks from the ocean courtesy of Oceanside Adventures. They were well equipped to shows us the best spot to view. The harbor parking lot is ill equipped to handle the larger crowds and was difficult to get transportation out because of closures and volume. So definitely if you are going on a holiday be prepared for that. Otherwise everyday time is just fine. I would definitely like to go back!
