Pleasantly surprised that despite its corporate nature it felt like a mom and pop shop. Kind and knowledgeable doctor and lens technician. I got a lot of personalized advice and attention and the price didnt end up any higher than what Im used to paying at Costco.

Great service! I went for an emergency walk in appointment due to an eye infection and they were able to see me right away. The office was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. They were able to give a thorough examination and prescribed antibiotics for my infection.

I appreciate the care, knowledge and professionalism of each individual Ive encountered here. I truly appreciate the blunt honesty of those who assisted me when picking out a frame. It was more about what worked with my face/looks, versus my wallet. In other words they didnt push me into higher priced frames, it was more about me and knowing that Ill be choosing something that will be a part of me until next time, regardless when that is.

Everything went smoothly. This appointment was for my 17-year-old, who is very introverted and on the spectrum. Everyone from the receptionist to the assistant and the doctor and the person that helped us purchase glasses was amazing! I’m terrible with names. Sorry about that But Thank you. I guess my only thought would be the expectation of more selection, but I think you guys were working on that on the store but other than that everything was wonderful. Thank you!

Overall, my exam by the Dr. went well. When I checked in, I had several questions about what I had in insurance and other benefits such as AARP and AAA. I thought the person that I spoke with made me feel belittled rather than trying to educate me. She must get questions of this sort all the time and seems to be tired of it.And in the end, Medicare billing is something that is not done at LensCrafters, even though the Medicare site seems to indicate that it is.

Dr. Adam Tayman was awesome. He helped me resolve a reading issue Ive experienced since getting my last prescription in January 2023. Just by adjusting the magnification of my prescription, I can now read without putting my book well past arms length. Dr. Tayman is professional but very relatable, witty, and kind. The first check in woman who completed the pressure tests and retina scan was lovely (blonde curly hair). The doctor was great as well. Jose at check out was stellar.The very tall dirty blonde woman with glasses behind the desk was one of the RUDEST people I’ve ever experienced. Did not acknowledge me. Ignored me and helped two people cutting right in front of me without even glancing at me let alone giving me an update after i completed my exam. She made me feel invisible. She continued to ignore for 5 minutes as I was standing at the desk I finally said, “Hi I’ve been waiting.” To which she rolled her eyes and said, “I saw you. I’m pulling up your profile.” I don’t mind waiting but at the very least say you will be with me shortly. She should not work with patients or customers. Everyone else, was great.

Grace was very sweet and helpful.The doctor however made my eleven year old very uncomfortable. Not the greatest manner for young teens. I am no eye expert and was asking questions throughout the appointment and was basically put down and guilt tripped for not adding the additional exams day of service. I was told if it was done within two years that it was okay. We were in that two year span so I declined… won’t do that again!Overall not a great experience and ended up just doing my daughters appointment and canceling the other two I made for myself and my son.

I completely enjoyed my visit today at LensCrafters! I realize that probably sounds like an odd statement to me, but the doctor was so personable incredibly knowledgeable actually compared my old chart to my new prescription and explained a few things to me which had never been done before and I’ve had glasses since I was 28 and I am now 53. The young lady that greeted me at the door was amazing. I had brought in my insurance, and she found that my coverage had changed, but she matched it up in the system, and I didn’t have a problem at all. Finally, Derrick who helped me select my frames and measure for my lenses was amazing!!! he helped me pick out two pairs of glasses when I showed up at his desk with 10. I loved his style. He knew the quality of the frames. He was very not knowledgeable on the best way to get the best deal. Annie took care of me, provided me all of my insurance coverage information as well as my receipts and paperwork. I’d also like to mention that they were so great that I was late to my appointment and they fit me right into the next flight :-). I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

First visit: wrong contact lens for left eye. Went back and saw Dr Kimball on 7/17 who Re-examined me a new test pair. I called 7/26 and was told the test pair had shipped but had not arrived. I told them I would call back the end of the week. On 7/26 I tried calling four times between 10:00-10:30. Each time it went to voicemail after a long message. Finally I drove there and the guy at the desk found the test pair; turns out that they had arrived on 7/24 but the staff had been two busy to log them. I got the test pair and they were great. I arrived on time for follow up appointment but no one was at the front desk to check me in. After waiting five minutes I found Dr Kimball in the exam area. He asked the assistant to bring my chart. She provided him the chart of a different patient who had the same initials as me. I obtained my prescription and left. I will never return.

Quick and easy, even though I have really bad eye sight, they were willing to work with my budget to get me what I needed. I’m thankful for the doctor and his experience, but mostly his listening and responding with respect to what I think was good for me as opposed to giving me the most expensive option and being inflexible. The staff and the doctor were very professional and helpful. My routine eye exam was very thorough. They have the retinal imaging machine as well for a small fee. They couldnt bill my insurance provider directly since I was visiting from a different state but they were nice enough to check and provide me an itemized receipt that I could submit for reimbursement later. Overall, a great experience!

I felt comfortable here from the beginning. Dr. Tayman listened to my concerns after a bad experience and took his time to explain things to me and make sure I was comfortable with the prescription. He explained thoroughly what could have been a problem previously and how we could avoid it this time. Let me walk around and try seeing between two prescriptions to see which felt more right. There were some special things he wanted to make sure were done for the lenses and he explained what I would need with Sesy, the kind woman who would be assisting me with the glasses/lenses portion. She went above and beyond to make sure they could do the things needed for me to have the best vision, and that I was happy with the glasses I selected. I was listened to and treated with respect and they understood my concerns. If for some reason the glasses dont feel completely right, I fully trust them to work with me to fix it and get it perfect.

When Ive called multiple times, Im always put on long holds, then basically told Ill get a call back because of how busy they are, then I have to wait for them to call me back. The service was good, but I was not informed that the retina exam was not covered by my insurance. At the check out I asked, I was told it was not part of the exam, neither my husband nor myself were informed that there was an additional cost. When the person assisting me seeker help from who I assume was the manager, the person walked towards us and said “you can go.” I was confused, and since I had an eye exam for contact lenses and glasses, so I knew it there was an additional cost. So I said we had two eye exams, she replied and seemed irritated, “you can go, you don’t want to pay, so just go”. I am still confused, she was rude and lacked customer service. It’s not that I didn’t want to pay for a service that was rendered, but the fact that is was not informed of the additional cost. And to top it off the way the manager talked to us and made us feel as if we had done it purposefully. Well, no, train your employees to advise the customer of additional costs and let the customer decide. Again it was not just me, but also my husband.

The communication between the staff is bad. I spoke to 2 people and got a specific price and yet they tried to charge me something else. Many people were calling and complaining about this. Grace was able to fix the problem and charge me correctly but the front staff can be a little aggressive with the customers. Note not all the staff was aggressive it was only a few (3) . Better communication and friendlier staff is key.

I had a eye exam around a year ago at the Vista way location. I ordered glasses from lenscrafters online with the prescription I was given. When I received the online order, it was the wrong prescription and I had to send the glasses back. However the prescription Ive been using for 4 years still works perfectly? I called the Oceanside (Vista way) location and explained my situation, they told me to come in and they would help me clarify the situation. I showed up at the time I was given. The employees were helping me when the manager (short heavy set woman) came out and informed me that unless I pay a second time, they would not help me. She was rude and unaccommodating. Lenscrafters clearly doesnt standby what they do not to mention, way over priced. Never again will I do business with these people again.

The Doctor on Fridays and Mondays is the best, very personable, knowledgeable, and caring. The prices are about the same as other places. Selection seems bigger than in other places. Technology is up to date. The optical assistant is efficient, easy to talk to and follow directions from and explained what she was doing, why, and made sure she got the measurements right. But getting my glasses the same day, is the best!!

Our experience in general was fantastic. The whole team at Lenscrafters Oceanside not only met, but exceeded all my expectations. Dr Salamanca was great! Took the time to explain everything to us and my daughter just loved her new eye doctor. He was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and very professional. Im excited to return in the near future and take care of my vision needs as well. The selection of frames is excellent. If you dont find a pair of glasses you like in there, then you have issues. Dr. Tayman is great. The facility here is clean, well orchestrated and the staff is knowledgeable. My previous optometrist didn’t have the tech or knowledge and my prescriptions were always a little off. Also, I have never liked contacts until I started working with Dr. Tayman about a year ago. Ive worn glasses for 15 years and, having just had my second appointment with Dr. Koltun, Im confident in saying Ill never see another optometrist as long as hes practicing. Hes caught issues with my vision that no one noticed for half of my life. Being Autistic and Deaf, eye exams used to be fraught and overwhelming, with trying to make rapid-fire decisions between one or two and hoping I heard questions correctly. Dr. Koltun eliminates all that with his patient and thorough demeanor.

If I could have given them a 0 I would have. Had an appointment for an eye exam at 2:00pm today... Got there at 1:35pm hoping to get in early and get out sooner. Come 3:15 I hadnt been seen yet for an exam and the staff who ignored me more than were attentive to me being there, tells me the VSP system in their computer crashed. Then nothing... They dont advise me as to what the next step is, their clueless as to how to even reboot the VSP system. Just felt like no one had a clue as to what they were doing there. No redundancy to a crashed system. Customer service quality was piss poor at best. I decided to walk out instead of pacing around the store not being attended to. By 3:20pm I walked out and decided to take my business elsewhere since they clearly did not want it. Thank you eye exam/LensCrafters staff of Oceanside for wasting my time on my only day off during the week.
