2019-11-25 02:52:06Oceanic West was amazing in assisting in the planning of my husbands celebration of life event. Natalie was great to work with, planning the food and day in support of myself and 60 guest. Everything went off without a hitch. Captain Ken, Wanda and all the crew made a difficult day so amazing and beautiful for all my friends and family.

2021-07-22 23:16:53I had a wonderful and easy time booking the event and service with Oceanic West in order to send my Wife on her final journey and scatter my her ashes in the SF Bay. Natalie made the process so much easier and guided me through the arrangements. Understandably, this event was very difficult for all of the family, and Mike and Ken showed great respect and care in all of their dealings with us. The ship had plenty of space and a good sound system so we could play some of Wandas favorite songs. Captain Ken was quite accommodating, attentive, and performed a wonderful service after the family shared their memories and her Eulogy was read. I highly recommend Oceanic West.

2019-09-09 10:59:38In August 2019 my family scattered our fathers ashes in the San Francisco Bay. I planned the event and being in Virginia was a little stressed about everything coming together. Natalie was patient and responsive to all my questions. (and there were many!) The ashes scattering was better than I ever imagined and such a beautiful tribute to my father. During the ceremony, Captain Ken read aloud the many memories we all wrote down about my father. During the boat ride we had Frank Sinatra playing on Spotify. It was a beautiful ceremony and many of us walked off the boat saying this is how we want to be remembered when we pass. Everything went smoothly and we all just received the pictures they took that day. I highly recommend Oceanic West-excellent customer service and a beautiful way to honor a loved one with their ashes scattering memorial.

2012-10-28 16:07:02Our family had a very good experience with Oceanic West, scattering my mothers ashes in the SF Bay. Understandably, this event is a very vulnerable and intimate time, and Mike and Ken showed great respect and care in all of their dealings with us. They were quite accommodating, attentive, and were able to provide their services with a short advance notice. Our family preferred to handle the services, and they were supportive; Ken took quite wonderful photographs. The boat was quite comfortable, with plenty of space--it was perfect! I highly recommend Oceanic West.

2019-10-03 19:40:03The day was more than perfect. I could not have imagined a more caring crew who found the exact spot where my brother used to kayak. They took care of our every need. We all loved the ceremony. Captain Ken did a fabulous job. And Captain David was terrific with all the little ones who wanted to “captain” the boat. Wanda’s help and wonderful food helped get us underway. I cannot praise the company or crew enough.Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your’ve made the day so memorable.

2019-04-02 01:05:25I finally felt comfortable and felt the time was right to scatter my husbands ashes over the water as my husband wanted. I did a lot of research and decided on Oceanic West. From the first contact by e-mail and numerous calls from me I knew it was the right choice. Natalie held my hand and helped through the process. When the day came and family and friends arrived I was still a little nervous. Though there were a few glitches(off a little late and audio didnt work), Captain Ken and his crew were friendly and attentive and took us to a beautiful place in the bay with beautiful views of the bridges and alcatraz and angel island. I had the Captains ceremony which everyone thought was beautiful. Scattering with roses and petals were beautiful. I knew it was what my husband wanted and the love of friends and family left us at peace afterwards. Thank you all at Oceanic West for helping me honor my husbands last request. I know he loved it.

2013-12-17 20:01:01This past month (November 2013) we enlisted the services of Oceanic West for the scattering of our brother’s ashes in San Francisco Bay. He was born in the Marina District of San Francisco and had requested that we scatter his ashes upon his death in his favorite city. We were extremely lucky and fortunate to find Captain Mike and Oceanic West to help us with this obviously difficult occasion. From the very beginning to the end, Captain Mike and his associates made the arrangements as accommodating as possible. All three were very professional, respectful and attentive in providing these services. Every preparation was made exactly as we would have wanted it. Rarely do you find organizations in this day and age that provide services exactly as advertised. In this case, Oceanic West went above and beyond expectations in every respect. We cannot say enough about how thankful we were to have found Oceanic West to perform these services and what a fantastic job they did. In addition, the furnishing of the professional pictures of the ceremony and the certificate of Scattering of Ash Ceremony was a wonderful keepsake.

2019-09-24 21:49:43As we approached the first anniversary of our son’s sudden and unexpected death, we began exploring the idea of scattering his ashes in San Francisco Bay. Our research to find a professional, experienced group that provided such services was somewhat daunting, as it brought to the surface many emotions and feelings that had faded into the background over the passing of one year. But they were still there, of course; shock, grief, sadness, anger, disbelief. The loss was surreal. It was like a bad dream from which we would never escape. But we knew the time had come to take the next step in moving on.We chose to contact Oceanic West based on the stellar reviews left by others who had reached the same decision and who had utilized their scattering services. We could not have made a better choice.Starting from her first reply to my inquiry, Natalie instilled in us a sense of compassion, understanding, kindness and professionalism. She gently guided us through the whole process, like an angel, telling us what to expect, where to meet Captain Ken at the Berkeley Marina and what paperwork to assemble for proper documentation and permits.Captain Ken and his first mate, Ed, were wonderful! Captain Ken was so sincere in his concern that we be as comfortable as possible. He detailed every step we would experience on this poignant journey. He had a basket filled with beautiful rose flowers and petals to also scatter. He asked us to write messages on biodegradable rice paper that we also tossed into the Bay. And when we answered his questions or exchanged dialogue with him, he quietly and patiently looked directly into our eyes and truly listened to every word we said.During the scattering, Captain Ken unobtrusively took multiple photographs of the experience, as well as portraits of us and other Bay images that were later sent to us in a virtual album. When we opened the album, we wept.We cannot recommend Oceanic West highly enough, nor could we have ever wished for a better, more memorable outcome. Natalie, Ed and Captain Ken have helped us move on to the next step in the process of dealing with the loss of a loved one.We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. These folks are the kind of people who make the world a kinder and more gentle place in which to live!

2013-05-10 23:22:57Thank you, Mike, for arranging the burial at sea of our parents and for accommodating our request that we scatter their ashes off an area that holds fond memories of childhood weekend outings. We appreciate the time and effort First Officer Ken took to talk with us during out trip out and were very pleased with the respectful service he led when we reached the designated site. It was a memorable and touching tribute to them and we will be forever grateful.

2013-02-19 03:46:28This was my first experience scattering ashes - something my Dad insisted on since as long as I can remember. Mike made making the arrangements as simple as possible and was flexible with the date. The yacht was in a great location and although it had been cold and rainy all week, somehow that particular October Saturday turned out to be beautiful and the best day possible to be out on the SF Bay. The rose petals, the photos, the personalized attention made this a wonderful day that we will remember forever.
