We had a great experience with OCPOOLSCAPES.They did an amazing job building our pool, backyard and front yard project. they are very reliable and professional, but most importantly, trustworthy. We had an amazing experience with OC Poolscapes. We have an odd shaped yard and we’re very specific with what we wanted to do. Jocelyn accommodated our many requested and worked closely with us on developing our vision and many changes, making it come to life. We had a hiccup with an immense amount of rain right when we started and Malkiel/Jose/Johnny were on it, quickly easing my mind fixing what the rain had destroyed. They were always there to quickly respond and figure out anything that was requested of us, even if that meant dropping by to discuss or show us the process. Throughout the process we received great customer service from everyone we encountered and had contact with. That’s all we could have asked for, because there is nothing worse than when a contractor keeps you in the dark. Even after the pools been completed they still answer any questions we have enthusiastically. In total we did a custom pool/spa with infinite edge, yard with tile flooring and turf boarder/accents, turf area for kids, BBQ, and a basketball court. We would highly recommend them for any custom pool and yard!!

Finally found a contractor who could make it happen at a fair price. Our yard wasnt easy given our tight lot line with neighbors. OC Poolscapes got creative for the demo and dig, and thankfully we avoided a hand dig and avoided craning equipment. Never witnessed a bobcat maneuver with such precision being inches away from our house. Only downside is permitting which is beyond their control. Its a long process with soil permits, construction, gas and electric permits from the county. Once thats behind you though they rock it. Looking forward to having pool parties as well as peacefully enjoying this setup. Like being on vacation.

We had Jose and team, led by Johnny, redo our entire backyard in 2023. Though they came in higher in price to other estimates, we went with them ultimately due to confidence we had in them to deliver on the promise. Further their contract was much more thorough and detailed so we had greater confidence there would be fewer unexpected expenses which there were none. I would break out the review across:Build: The ultimate build itself had a few stops and starts - understandably due to scheduling. That said, Johnny who was our project manager was always responsive to me when I was frustrated and always sought to solve any problem or issue. Further there were some mistakes (which they corrected) which I attribute to the rapid growth pains of the company due to their deserved success.Quality: The final product is excellent. We are extremely pleased with the overall quality. I think this is a testament to them doing most of the work all in house. They have a foreman named German who is a clear ace and commands his entire team well, he also was able to improvise on small design decisions when they came up and always had a great attitude.Design: The design also was excellent which while we had a few ideas, Jose and his brother came up with a design that really leverages our yard and space well. The others that bid didnt suggest what they did and Im really glad Jose and his brother recognized how to use the space best. Do not underestimate this part of the bidding process.Service: As mentioned Johnny was our POC throughout and always cared about providing great service. Hes clearly dedicated to his job and does an excellent job managing all the considerable complexity that comes with managing an entire project plan for the backyard renovation we had. He was great to deal with throughout.Overall, we went with them because I had confidence in them and believe they are building out a long term business focused on customer and quality long term, along with clear passion to create a great company. While on the more expensive side vs others, we are more than happy with the outcome and are grateful to Johnny and team for delivering an amazing final product.

Ok. So this company has a brand new division. I used their services to check out my pool pump. It had stopped working. We had 4 different quotes.Only 2 of those quotes had people show up. The other 2 didn’t even come to the house to look at the pump.Jeff from OC Poolscapes was very helpful. He actually showed up and said explained options to me first. Then he showed me parts that he brought and said this might be a small repair. But most likely will need a new pump. He then started taking the pump apart and showed me why we needed a new pump.But then he did some more testing prior to making a final decision.Jeff made me feel very comfortable with my choice of going forward. It’s only need a few weeks since the replacement. But so far so good.Thank you Jeff

Just starting our pool project with OC Poolscapes. Very great presentation with 3D renderings of my backyard at a very competitive price point.They are digging the pool now and the timeline they are estimating is 5-8 weeks depending on a couple variables. Jose, Malkiel and Elier have been great to work with throughout the sales process. They have taken my budget and designed a great backyard oasis for my family. I will likely have a update at the end of the project with closing comments but so far 5 stars.Update 7/13/2020:Pool finished 4 weeks ago so the project timeline was about 5 weeks start to finish and we couldnt be happier. As previously mentioned OC Poolscapes was amazing to work with. Even though the pool is done we are still talking and they are still helping me out with questions. Great customer service, great end product. We are literally in the pool everyday. Our pool gets full sunlight and the darker pebble tec keeps the pool between 80-85 degrees. The hot tub gets to 100 degrees in about 15 minutes. The variable speed pump makes almost zero noise during normal hours. I had a great experience working with them and would 100% recommend them to anyone who is wanting a pool.

We are so grateful for Malkiel, Jose and their team!We had an old pool with bubbling plaster, loose and outdated tile and a surface crack. Over many months we obtained 4 quotes that were all over the place with costs and timing up to 6 months out.Our friends recommended OC Poolscapes because they were thrilled with their work and had successfully referred them many times. Jose came out quickly, sent a quote quickly and promised the pool update would be done in time for the summer months. And they did it!Malkiel and Jose work well together and they have a big team that is efficient, timely, friendly and professional. Malkiel is responsive and his team does quality, custom, beautiful work. They are easy to communicate with and were helpful and diligent up to the very end, making sure every concern is addressed.They know pools, they dont over-complicate or over-simplify it and care about their work and their customers. We will continue to refer them confidently!

When purchasing our first home we decided we wanted to redo the backyard and incorporate a pool or a hot tub, considering the limited amount of space that we had, we thought we could only have one or the other.After extensive research, we came across OC Poolscapes. One of the things that attracted us to the company was their specialization in working with limited outdoor spaces and being able to incorporate as much as other clients hoped to have.Their process is very professional, communicative, and streamlined from design to completion. Once construction started all of their crews were very respectful of not only our personal space but made sure to not interfere with our neighbors daily activities. At the end of each workday, they would make sure to leave the construction site as tidy as possible.We were very happy that we worked with each of the partners/owners of the company (each having their own specialty in the process). It was a seamless process with every phase of the project from permitting to ordering and having supplies delivered. It was such a pleasure to know that our job as the homeowner was basically just to wake up each morning and make sure the gate was open for the crews to start working.Now that the project is complete, it has also been comforting to know that they stand behind their work and craftsmanship 100% by making sure that if any item needs touchup, repair, or adjustments, it is done in a very timely manner.On a personal note, I have shown the project to most of my neighbors with pride and will recommend OC Poolscapes to anyone that asks for a referral for a pool/hardscape contractor.We could not have had a better design, development, and construction team than the OC Poolscapes family, because thats what they make you feel like, family.

IntroIn early 2021, my wife and I decided to invest in our home by adding a swimming pool. Our primary motivating factor was spending time as a family in a backyard swimming pool. Secondarily, we knew this investment would be a good value.SelectionIn selecting a pool contractor, we had a few primary decision criteria. Could we “work” with the contractor (e.g. were they easy to work with, understand, and were they communicative), were their plans/ideas in line with what we were thinking, and were their costs reasonable for what was being proposed.Of the four contractors we interviewed, we believed OC Poolscapes hit all of these marks up front. This isn’t to suggest the other three were any less professional, but the juxtaposition of a local family owned business that was large enough to have a good share of the market in Orange County was very appealing to us. Further, we had received OC Poolscapes as a recommendation from a trusted resource.DesignInitial concepts were delivered during COVID, so we didn’t get to experience a full immersive “3D-walkthru” as one normally would during the “before days”. That said, OC Poolscapes delivered 3D drawings that visually represented what our yard would look like with a pool. The initial plans were amazing. We made some stylistic changes to the initial plans, which OC Poolscapes applied perfectly. Their team has the vision to interpret our high level guidance and direction into plans that would ultimately become our pool.ConstructionConstruction began and ended largely without incident. If there were hiccups, OC Poolscapes was remarkably communicative, and addressed the issues right away. Their staff and their subcontractors were professional, courteous, and safe.Having the opportunity to watch the construction happen, day by day, was like watching a piece of art getting constructed. The precision operation during the excavation process was remarkable. Even more amazing was the metal work in bending the rebar to expertly shape the pool. The angles, curves, and lines of the rebar themselves were done at a master level, full stop.CommunicationThroughout the entire process, OC Poolscapes kept a persistent line of communication open to my wife and I, primarily via text message, but also over the phone when we needed something explained (or we needed to make a decision). Their team guided us through each decision point we had, and what the overall impact of that decision was (both to timeline and budget).ChangesWe did make one large change to the construction surrounding the pool, a retaining wall. OC Poolscapes accommodated this change into their schedule with minimal impact to the overall delivery of the finished products.DeliveryThe final delivery came with challenges imposed by the City of Mission Viejo’s inspector, through a fence replacement. While clearly not on OC Poolscapes’ cut list of things, it was an unexpected delay and cost that, in hindsight, we could have been better prepared for. Not entirely on OC Poolsacpes here, as this would have been a great heads-up from the City Inspector during his prior visits.That item aside, the pool was delivered and “turned on” by OC Poolscapes. It exceeded our expectations by both design and function. The pool and spa are an amazing treat for my family. Our cutlist of “things to fix” included exactly ONE tile. That’s it. They fixed that tile the very next day.SummaryOC Poolscapes is the way to go. These people are a great organization with amazing people who are remarkably talented. They’ve built a pool, spa, retaining wall, and most importantly, trust. I know that this remarkable system they’ve constructed will last, and I trust that if there are any issues I need their help with in the future, they will be ready, willing, and able to solve them down the road.

OCPOOLSCAPES is by far the Best in the industry! I went through several notable local SoCal pool companies, and had them all come out & give an estimate. I found OCPOOLSCAPES while searching for pool companies. I set an arrangement for Jose & Elier to come and give my wife an I an estimate, a few days later I became aware they had a few projects going on in Irvine, Ca. I asked could my wife and I come out to view their current projects. We were able to witness 3 different sites with their pool project in the making! We were immediately impressed. Not only with the projects we got to see first hand but also with the stellar customer service, knowledge and attention we were given by this company through our entire project. We vetted them for about 2 months then decided to go with OCPOOLSCAPES! It was an easy decision & the best decision we made. Not one single regret. I could go on and rave about these 3 guys and their crew. Just professional & on time! Our pool was completed under 2 months & their bid beat all other long time pool companies, by far! They spent time with us as we designed the entire backyard (to measurement) & (not just the pool itself) changed the design several times they didn’t mind at all they wanted us to be happy. Their 3D software design brought our ideas to life and today our backyard is Beautiful! And what a relief it was that they took care of all the inspections with my city and we’re on top of every phase in the project. This review is long overdue. We recently had the pleasure of completing a large home project with Jose, Malkiel, and the entire team at OC Poolscapes. When we met with Jose and Malkiel, we had a series of meetings to brainstorm, discuss, and plan our dream home project. Jose and Malkiel were able to take our ideas and render a 3-D video so we could visualize the completed project. During the course of our project, they would accompany us to choose and pick up materials and meet us at the nursery to pick the appropriate trees and plants to complement and tie in the entire project. We wanted a project that was unique and special, and they spent many hours discussing the details necessary to incorporate our personalized touches. We truly valued their input as they would provide suggestions regarding when it made sense to put resources to certain areas, but just as important, when it would NOT make sense to put in resources.It would be an understatement to express how happy we are with the completed project as it has exceeded our expectations. OC Poolscapes constructed a custom pool, spa, sunken sitting area, fireplace, large succulent wall, retaining wall, hardscape, and all corresponding landscaping. We are extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the work and receive numerous and regular complements. With the current pandemic and corresponding social distancing, we couldn’t be happier with our backyard and have enjoyed our family time at home.We strongly recommend OC Poolscapes, you wont regret it! Its refreshing to deal with an honest contractor. They showed up on time, did what they promised, and a bit more than expected, cleaned up, and left.Thats as simple as it was dealing with this great outfit.
