Attentive, good listener, and an amazing staff. After having to cancel on me earlier in the week, the staff booked me for the upcoming Saturday. I was flabbergasted! This was the first time Ive ever heard of a doctor in Palm Springs area opening up their office to patients on a Saturday. I am sure they are out there I just hadnt come across one until now. They were extremely busy, yet the Dr. and his staff still made time to see me, and I truly appreciate this.

Had an appointment scheduled at 7:20 AM to see the doctor. The scheduler told me the appointment would be in Rancho Mirage and gave me the address. I went to go to the appointment and realized it was all the way in Palm Springs and of course the office wasn’t even open until 8 AM so I’m not even sure if a 720 appointment was even Something that the doctor would be there for since I tried to call the office and it doesn’t open until 8:00 AM. So disgusted that the scheduler gave me the wrong address. Is anybody confident anymore?

Sendy Figueroa is the office manager for Oasis Advanced Gastroenterology and I cant praise her enough for helping me deal with an insurance issue that prevented me from getting medication I need. Health Net tried to illegally deny coverage for treatment Ive been taking and while we knew it was wrong what they did, Sendy didnt have to help. She could have easily walked away, but instead, she helped me fight the case.For days Sendy took time out of her schedule to talk to several people on my behalf and made my situation a priority. Because of her determination and efforts, we learned about California State Law AB 974 (aka Gallegos law) which protects patients from insurance companies trying to mandate a medication change for a continual treatment. Everything was resolved and my medication is now covered.I wish every doctors office had someone who cares and has compassion like Sendy. Shes huge a blessing I cant thank her enough.

Hes a ok doctor I have a stomach disorder, it constantly made it hard to leave my house the medication he prescribed would constantly cause my issues getting on time to work . I asked for some documentation to prove that i actually have I.b.s to my work. He Could not be bother to write one. He could care lessSo Im now just stuck here whether to continue to let ibs /medication hurt my job responsibilities or quit

Doc asgi is straight foward and understands your concerns. Although the wait time to see him is to long I went in 140pm for my appointment and waited almost another hour to see him. He explains things ok but i feel rushed. All in all his a great doc so far.

After waiting two weeks for my appointment, when I arrive for the appointment, on time, they cancel it. The doctor was there and due to being Saturday he wanted to leave. They were telling patients that they had left messages for cancellations the day before. Which was not true. In fact they called me the day before and moved my appointment to an earlier time because the doctor wanted to leave early Saturday. (The receptionist words) so I agreed to an earlier appt and they waited till I was there and another patient to cancel. There are much better and more professional Doctors in the valley, go to one of them, and stay way from this one. I will be asking my primary doctor for a new referral to a professional doctor who cares about the patient. This experience tells u what kind of care u will get from this doctor and the office.

Wonderful first visit. Dr. Asgeri was thorough, compassionate, and communicative. Only reason 4 not 5 stars was because the waiting room is not big enough for number of patients. Had to stand for 30 minutes, not a big deal for me because Im young but for many of the older patients I could see it being a problem. Obviously there is space to sit outside but at over 100F not best option. Loved Doctor Asgeri though and that is whats most important.

Reception staff were very pleasant and accommodating, considering i arrived late and had forgotten my wallet with drivers license and insurance card. Every staff member was friendly, professional and efficient including the doctor himself - they listened to what i had to say responded with patience without any of the patronizing attitudes many medical providers seem to adopt these days. In the spirit of full disclosure i have to note that on the day of my appointment, their schedule had gotten a little backed up, which may bother some people, however i have absolutely no room to criticize them in this regard as i had arrived late for my appointment and was not turned away and told to reschedule, which i found very reasonable and which I really appreciated.

This is my third gastroenterologist Ive been to, and its by far the most compassionate, professional, and thorough yet!!The doctor is extremely competent - he shows it by being confident enough to admit when hes not sure of something, instead of just faking it like other more amateur doctors do! Kudos to the entire staff - friendly and efficient.I literally feel like finding this practice is an answer to my prayers afte years of pain and suffering. Thank you!

Everyone in the office is helpful and cheerful. The wait time may be a little long but sometimes good things come to those who wait. I learned more from the doctor in this visit than I had with the 2 1/2 years of my previous doctor. So thankful he was excepting new patients.

This doctor actually cares about his patients! I left my previous gastro doctor because all he cared about was the money but not this doctor, all this doctor cared about was helping me the way I need to be helped reguardless of the money. I was sent to him to have an expensive procedure done and he and his staff took the time to talk to me and get to know whats going on with me to realize that there are other avenues that may help me more appropriately vs going straight into the procedure. To me, thats worth much more and it earned my trust and respect. My last Dr literally walked in and asked how I felt and then sent me up front to schedule the procedure and when the time came he LITERALLY FORGOT I WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM ALMOST 6 HOURS until I asked for a refund, then he wanted to help BUT NOT THIS DOCTOR, THIS DOCTOR was busy and I can see and understand why but he didnt take advantage of this busyness and he continued to put me and my health first as well as his staff continuedto put me and my health first. The most important thing of all for me when being with a doctor, is that they listen. Genuinely look at you and listen and not stare at the little computer on their lap. Dr. Asgeri performed a routine colonoscopy on me in August 2021 and gave me a clean bill of health. In December 2022, I began to notice rectal bleeding. Finally, I had another colonoscopy, with a different doctor, in June 2023. Locally advanced rectal cancer was diagnosed. I have spent the past nine months going through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. If I am lucky, this cancer is gone. But if Dr. Asgeri had done his job and caught this at an earlier stage, I wouldn’t have had to go through all this. Don’t put your life in the hands of this incompetent man.

Ive been to two other gastro offices. Then one on the phone after this one. This one, in my old hometown of Palm Springs at 7:40 am, the office crowded. He doesnt sleep in or play golf first, obviously. He was ACTUALLY in the office! His female office staff sits in the room with you. You sit across from him in a comfy, large vinyl chair with back and arms that fully support you in comfort. His assistant sits at a computer screen inputting all. He can focus on YOU and your answers/questions. He has a electronic display behind him that he can WRITE on to point out text and highlight. Seems to be focussed on my SIBO and the horrible stomach pain/gas/problems that accompany it. Yet didnt knock me for my love of coffee and expressed he has the same love and a solution to try, to keep enjoying it, with a little tweaking. I have had NO such luck with the other 3 gastro places. He is getting me a special RX from a special co that mails it to my house, AFTER insurance says what they will pay. Understood the vegetarian patient and the Low Fod Map diet. Told me about Fecal Transplant, which Ive read about. No other doc even goes there. Hes going there soon. Realizes that this SIBO condition is debilitating and life altering. Ruins your enjoyment of life, running to bathroom at all hours, worrying about stomach pain and gas. He gets an A+. Most docs get a B- at most. Plain office. No espresso machine. No designer decor or fancy location. Palm Springs is a good location but he doesnt go overboard with the fancy furniture, books, and showing off. He had MANY different ages of patients in his waiting room. Im having a bit of trouble getting on the portal for his office visit. My fault, as was in his office on my tiny phone trying to do it. I look forward to ending this horrific stomach condition I have of gas and pain.

While I did wait to see Dr. Asgeri 1 hour after my scheduled appointment time, they are well organized and streamline in their approach. They may consider not scheduling as many folks in a given time slot to cut down on the time patients are waiting. I had office appt and a few others also shared same thing very long office wait. Tele appt was 40 mins late as well. Patients time she be valued as well. This is an update since my procedure. The process at El Mirador was quick and efficient. I was in and out in about 2hrs. Everyone each step explained things. Upon checking out the Dr spoke to me about what he did briefly. I got a call a few days later from his office and then. My telephone call from the Dr was very reassuring and explanatory.

Very impressed with my first visit with Dr.Asgiri. He took the time to explain ALL the issues contributing to my GERD problem and outlined the immediate steps I should take before my endoscopy. Treatment room was immaculate. Front staff and nurses were warm and welcoming. I was told when I made the appointment that sometimes there is a wait because he deals with a lot of emergencies, so I was prepared and brought a book. So glad my PCP referred me to him!

The Doctor took his time and read our previous reports from our recent Hospital visit. He then showed us on his screen what the condition looked like. We presented a Hospital disk which he tried to read and couldnt however his office called and said he wanted to try and read that disk at home and please bring it back-He was very thorough and considerate -We felt he was a good and caring Doctor who looked after his patients-we look forward to his care in our Colitis treatment -There was no bum rush to get us out of his office-his staff were cordial and efficient

Everything went smoothly. It was a busy office with lots of patients waiting. I had to fill out some paperwork and then I was called in relatively quickly considering how busy it was. Once in the exam room I didn’t have to wait long for the doctor. Doctor was kind and courteous. He asked a lot of questions and did a manual exam on my belly. He then showed me what could be going on with an electronic screen that was really cool! He said he would do an endoscopy and that I will get an ultrasound. He said the MA would take care of that and then he left. He was a bit hurried and he did not give me time to ask any questions. I still have some questions. Then I was taken to another room to schedule my endoscopy, but the assistant did not see anything in the notes about an ultrasound. So I’ll have to go back and ask for that at some point.

My appt was good, I didnt wait too long to be taken in for health review, then the doc came in. Seems nice, smart & friendly. I was informed of what he believes is wrong & is suppose to be referring me to a surgeon for hernia. Ive complained of this pain in my side & groin & the porturion from under my ribs. My primary told me I was just fat! So, grateful to knowit is very likely hernia, not just Fat! That was N. Lopez at DAP, dont ever go to him, not even for a cough, he has no interest to actly find out whats wrong.

This review is strictly regarding the front desk medical staff.at suite 214, 1100 N Palm Canyon. The problem is their inability to communicate clearly, and consistently. Per our phone conversation the day before my husbands appointment, I advised the staff of my husband’s extreme hearing problem. I was told I could attend at the appointment, wait in the lobby until called, and go in with him to speak to the doctor.. What occurred is that they allowed.me to sit in the lobby .On the day of the appointment I was allowed to sit in the lobby for twenty minutes before a staff member told me I had to wait outside. I asked if there was a chair, she said there was, but there is only a bench on the other side of the complex, she then said I could wait in my car. I have mobility issues and it is 109 degrees. When the problem was addressed with staff, they said I misunderstood. I maintain my husbands medical records, make his appointment ‘s as well as relay prior medical history to the doctor because often my husband is unable to understand due to his hearing disability. This time he went in alone, and came out not understanding next steps. He also told me the doctor gave actual adviser on a Neurological issue, but he also put in a referral which is good. However I think it best for those in the medical profession to stick to their speciality.Finally, apparently I wasn’t the only person sent from the lobby because while waiting, my husbandsaid several other very aged, and disabled persons were also sent out to the street. In case you are wondering, no one was disruptive.This may not only be an ADA breach, but definitely an inability by the staff to communicate clearly. Imagine that may be problematic for some. Perhaps a solution would be to place a sign on the street level floor at the elevator, as well as on the office door. . I did not mean to make this post this long, my intent was to advise others to verify multiple times any information from the staff to ensure you are getting correct information.

This 4 star rating is for the doctor alone, He was very kind and knowledgeable and explained in detail to my husband with what was going to happen in his next procedure. We would be giving a 1 star rating on his office it is a nightmare, in fact the whole building and location is a nightmare. Only 2 bathrooms downstairs for all the units in the building talk about poor planning. Many of the units are empty, no signage of which way the suites are. The doctors waiting room is extremely small, no family only patients, covid rules size family has to wait outside, with no additional seating what so ever.. Also you must have a mask for the visit and wait and we saw a very elderly gentleman not have one and the girl at the desk said he could buy one for 25 cents, OR go back downstairs by the only restrooms and they have some free in a box. WE SAY WHAT ? this guy barely got here now your gonna make him go backdown stairs for a mask ??? before he has to then fill out his 6 page paperwork that nobody reads. Of course my husband and I gave the quarter and of course my husband was so annoyed about it that he went down and grabbed 5 masks and brought them to put on the receptionist window for those that cant make the up and down.We felt it was shameful and we told the office staff, they noted it but with little interest. My husbands blood pressure shot up because of all this and it made it unpleasant. But the good review here is that Dr. Asgeri was very very pleasant, he just needs a better and larger space for his very successful practice.

The front desk got me checked in fairly quickly when I got there. I was called back within a few minutes. I was extremely overwhelmed and scared, but Doctor Asgeri made me feel very relieved and took time to assess my concerns and even showed me on the digital board what they’re going to be checking for with the endoscopy and even got blood work ordered the same day and I got my labs done in the same complex the same day for any possible health concerns due to my tremendous weight loss due to my medical condition. I go for my EGD dilation September 7, though I’m a little nervous, I’m excited to finally see what has been making me feel so sick! I’m so grateful for the staff and Doctor Asgeri here! I was charged $265 for a pre-procedure visit. I was weighed, my blood pressure taken, and was handed paperwork that could have been emailed. This is an example of why so many people cant afford medical care. Nothing there is worth even half that charge.The waiting room was at triple capacity (spilling outside way beyond the waiting room), I was seen more than one hour beyond my scheduled time, and staff was hurried.

I’m waiting in the hospital after 33 days I had heart surgery and they put a transfusion in my liver for iron from hemachromotosis hepb and NAFLD. He’s the only one that can finalize my discharge so no show Sunday he wanted an ultrasound on Monday done and now no word at all about me and it’s 5pm. He’s wasting precious days of my life !No consideration for my time. I now have a bedsore, the food is toxics, no sleep and a ton of anxiety. That man (Dr. Mehrdad Asgeri) was so incredibly rude!!! The Desert Regional Medical Center set up this appointment for me even though I told them I have a doctor already. Even though, I was willing to get a second opinion and give him a real chance because I am willing to try almost anything to feel better. From the moment he came into the room he had a horrible attitude and it just got worse from there!!!He suggested a pacemaker for my stomach then, in almost the same breath, tried to tell me that I wasnt really that ill. At this point, he made it clear that he only had one report from November, even though this was a follow up appointment from a hospital admission in mid-January and Ive been dealing with these issues for years. He wanted me to quit all of my medications so he could take a test that was already taken when I was a child, a teenager, and then again as an adult. Then he announced that he wanted me off them all together, period, because Im not that ill. Ive been dealing with these stomach issues for years now. Due to that I am on pain medications and a nerve killer and have been for quite a while. Im not proud of it or happy with it but that is way beyond the point. Also, one of my doctors recently (a few months ago) put me on a light steroid called Pentasa. The Pentasa is starting to work now that its building up in my system and my flares have gotten farther apart.When he suggested that I needed to quit ALL of my meds, cold turkey, to take this test yet again, I told him I didnt think it was a good idea because Im starting to get better and that quitting those types of medications like that is not healthy and that I would not be doing that. He tried twice more to bully me into quitting all of my medications and I told him very politely that I would not do that. So at the end of the appointment, he sent his nurse in to schedule his test and to tell me I needed to quit all of my medications. I told her that I would not be doing that and that I had already informed him of that.Once he realized that I wasnt going to do what he wanted me to do he grabbed his leather jacket and tried to storm past me and my mother in a wheelchair. We had to back out of the door because his office isnt very wheelchair friendly and he was pacing impatiently for us to get out of his way. I held the door open for him as he rushed past us and literally squealed out of the parking lot.I cant believe his behavior!!! This was so not professional!!! In what way would that display change my mind or make me (or anyone) consider his point of view or professional opinion? It was very immature! I will not be going back to him or using his services. I just hope that I dont have to deal with him at the hospital if I have to go back there again.

Just after the new year, I had really bad vomiting and dry heaving problems. I was so lucky to be able to schedule an appt to meet Dr. Asgeri ASAP. I went to the ER on a Friday night, in which they hooked me up with some IV to re-hydrate my system. Went home the following morning thinking that I was ok. However, Sunday evening my complications reemerged. I did some homework to find out who was considered a good Gastroenterologist...and a friend of mine, who is a Dr., did some investigative work to find out that Dr. Asgeri came highly recommended. Therefore, I called in 1st thing Monday morning and was able to schedule an appt for the following day (Tues morning), which was a miracle in itself, to meet with him. When I met with Dr. Asgeri Tuesday morning I told him my symptoms and he could tell that it was pretty serious, so he recommended that I check in to the ER asap, even though there were 30 people already waiting to get a bed. Upon the initial ER nurses taking my vitals, they could tell that I needed to be admitted immediately. After they performed extensive tests (EKG, blood work, urine and blood samples, and a CT scan), they were able to communicate the results with Dr. Asgeri, who determined that he needed to perform an endoscopy the following morning (Wed). Nothing looked out of the ordinary, however, after eating a light breakfast and light lunch, the whole vomiting and dry heaving reemerged again. This caused further concern for Dr. Asgeri, and he recommended I stay in the hospital to perform a colonoscopy the following day (Friday). He found nothing to be concerned about...which was very relieving for me. In conclusion, he felt it must have been a bout of gastroenteritis, although he initially thought there was a possibility it might have been Crohns Disease. Ultimately, I am very pleased with how prompt and professional Dr. Asgeri was in fitting me into his busy schedule, and in providing me peace of mind that I was ok. Today, I had my follow up appt, in which he went over my biopsies and determined there were no polyps found and the results were negative. He also asked specific questions about my stool and any discomfort that I may have been experiences since the procedures, and I could tell that he was an expert at his craft. I am very grateful to have been under the watchful eye of Dr. Asgeri...and I would strongly recommend him to anyone needing a trusted Gastroenterologist.

I have always had heartburn and was using antacid till 2 years ago when my primary care doctor started me on Omeprazole. It is difficult to put into words how thankful my wife and myself are to Dr. Asgeri for his saving of my wife’s life. My wife had been in remission of colon cancer and she started to have serious stomach pain. Initial thought was the chemotherapy of the past had produced stomach ulcers. Her oncologist gave her the referral for Dr. Asgeri at Oasis Advanced Gastroenterology. She was admitted to the hospital in great pain and received a CT Scan. Dr. Asgeri performed an Upper Endoscopy. He discovered a large ulcer and 2 more in the process of forming. He also discovered inflammation in the gallbladder, pancreas. He told us, “I am concerned about the inflammation and some might say, that I am overdoing it, but I want to have an MRI of this area done!” The CT Scan showed inflammation but Dr. Asgeri went beyond what most doctors would have pursued. The results of the MRI revealed that the cancer had returned. The source of the inflammation and later blocked bile ducts were due to the cancer that had returned. Dr. Asgeri yet once more went beyond with the procedure of mapping out the pancreas to determine if the cancer had affected the pancreas, to which he found it was unaffected. Dr. Asgeri worked alongside of her oncologist to quickly have her discharged from the hospital in order to resume her chemotherapy. These events took place in August/September 2019. My wife has 2 more scheduled infusions then she will start maintenance. I want to thank Dr. Asgeri for going above and beyond what might be considered the standard textbook procedures. It was your above and beyond that has resulted in my wife’s life being preserved. Dr. Asgeri is a doctor that stands out for his care and compassion. He makes eye contact and takes the time to explain procedures, lab results. I also want to thank the office staff at Oasis Advanced Gastroenterology. The staff is so kind and helpful. Melissa is awesome. She always returns our multiple calls, filling prescriptions and setting up appointments. We are so blessed to have been referred to Oasis Advanced Gastroenterology. Terry Hlebo
