My little boy was picked up and stayed the night here. I called as soon as they opened. The lady who answered was very nice and helped me get him within an hour. She helped me with the fees and was very professional. Thank you for taking care of my Milo.

They have good dogs but they kind of suck with customer service. They told me they would repossess my dog if I didnt get her fixed when they said even though I said I was going to pay. I just needed to get paid first and they sounded like the mob.

Completely new experience now that they are enjoying new management. Friendly, not overly sympathetic but understanding, gentle, reassuring to someone like me who suffers sever social anxiety, claustrophobia, and random anxiety/panic attacks. Professional from start to finish but you can see how much they seriously care about the future of each individual animal and they back it up by showing up for the scheduled check in visits scheduled for in home visits to accommodate not only the law but us as well. Huzzah

This nonprofit organization is amazing! My dog just had six puppies and I needed help with food for them, which I was able to get for free from them. They were so helpful and kind despite just how busy they were. Thank u SPCA!

This is how a dog and cat rescue should be done. They, the SPCA Staff, care adopting and are sweet, kind, funny, informative, and are there for all pets and visitors. There are none so well tuned to their responsibility as the SPCA staff and in my opinion are far superior to any shelter for 40 miles arounnd, that Ive been in contact with.

Great experience adopting a Dog and Cat, however, we found a young dog and could not find the owners and have 3 dogs already. I had my daughter take the dog to the SPCA figuring this would be the best bet for him and my and they treated her like a criminal. absolutely made her feel like the worst person ever for bringing in a found dog. They should be ashamed of how they treat people sometimes and keep there attitudes in check.

In late 2019 early 2020 this shelter had my dog. By contacting the microchip company to report that my dog was lost, I found out that this SPCA had my dog. I was told that they tried to reach out to me, but I never received any call or any voicemails. By the time I found out this information and contacted Northwest, I was told that they had already given him to a rescue (thank goodness). The reasoning (PER THE RESCUE GROUP) was that NORTHWEST was full, which meant they would probably would have euthanized my dog if he wasn’t pulled from their shelter. When I called Northwest to get answers on my dogs whereabouts, I was told that they would not give me the name of or any information about the rescue group they gave my dog to because of LEGAL reasons…EVEN THOUGH MY NAME WAS REGISTERED TO MY DOGS MICROCHIP. Up until a few days ago, I had spent 3 YEARS looking for my dog, and posting through Facebook groups hoping that miraculously maybe a photo of my dog would pop up. Up until a few days ago, I would check in with the microchip company to confirm that if anything had changed with the microchip (like my name being changed), I WOULD BE NOTIFIED. The microchip company never called me, emailed me, contacted me… My name was removed & replaced from my dogs microchip. Up until a few days ago, I finally found a picture and a post about my dog and where he had spent all these years…I found the rescue group and found out that my dog was rehomed. Though I am grateful of how things turned out for my dog, I will never understand why Northwest SPCA couldn’t legally give me the name of the rescue group that pulled me dog. My dog was NEVER adopted out to a person so legally there was no personal information that would have be given. My dog went to a RESCUE GROUP WHO WAS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME FOR MY DOG at the time. The only thing they ever did that I will always be grateful to was choosing to give my dog to that rescue.

Impressive facility that was designed around the needs of the animals. The small staff they have is doing an amazing job caring for the animals. They work tirelessly to find forever homes for them. Some do not realize that they service all of Butte County to house animals rather than just their local municipality.

After almost a year of searching, we have found our new companion.We met her today. She will be easy to train and be a welcome spark of energy we need.We get to bring her home next week, I am so excited.The NW SPCA staff were kind and very professional. We were able meet our new dog in an outdoor enclosure and spend time with her as well as ask questions.I cant wait until next week.UPDATE: we are very happy with our new dog. She is energetic and very smart. It has been a great experience.

We had a great experience adopting our dog from the Northwest SPCA. We had the chance to meet several dogs with our kids to see how they interacted, and our dog Roadie was our final choice. Hes been a great addition to our lives! Thanks to all the wonderful staff members, volunteers and donors!

We drove one hour to see a pup we were hoping to adopt. I was able to make an appointment and they held the dog for my husband and I. The staff was so nice and helpful. Walked us to see the pup and the rest was history. We adopted him that day, took about an hour and a half in total. The dogs are well cared her and the people there care about their animals. We are so happy we adopted our boy and will come back to adopt in the future.

I adopted a cat and had him for under a month.his tail had been docked due to an injury, but his loving demeanor made it impossible to not adopt him.when i initially got him, the in-house vet said hed have no issues walking and that he was de-wormed, neutered, and vaccinated.he still had his cone on because of his recent operation, but that was no issue.once i got home, i realized his cone and entire rear was caked in feces. this includes the area where he was newly neutered and had his tail docked.i cleaned the area as best i could but his dried excrement was so packed on that it would rip his fur out if i tried to remove it.a few days later, he had an infestation of worms crawling down his rear.i unfortunately had to surrender him back to the shelter, as unforseen circumstances arose (not due to his health). i was distraught and in tears as i gave him back.i gave them a list of things he liked to do and asked they show it to potential new owners so he could find the best family possible for him. the entire staff looked at me like i was insane.i informed the vet that he had worms and she blamed it on me, claiming that he had been completely dewormed and i mustve taken him somewhere.i told her i only took him to the vet and she condescendingly said mhmm, sure. the moment i told her he mustve gotten worms from the vets office and id call to inform them, her story changed and she confessed that he wasnt dewormed.i posted flyers and ads everywhere i could, hoping it would help get him out of that shelter ASAP (and it did, thank god).dont get animals here and dont bring your animals here. the staff claims to care but all they care about is getting them in and out. take them somewhere else.

Helped us take care of our dogs after they both died. Staff were helpful and sympathetic. It was a hard experience to go through, and they made it as easy as it can be. Ive not adopted any animals through them, but in my experience with disposing of deceased pets, theyve been beyond helpful.

Just called this place in regards to a stray cat that just needs some deworming meds and then needs to be adopted out. The woman on the phone was extremely rude from the get-go. She basically told me that if I take the cat there, all they are going to do for it is kill it because there is no vet on-site. That really threw me off and came off in a disgusting tone. Clearly this place does not care about their animals if “oh it’ll just be euthanized.” Is their go to statement.

Ew they ok but they took my cat and tried to say he wasnt fixed after a almost 2 hour arumet and seeing he was fixed and in good health they still didnt want to give him up but after calling around my boys back home desperate what they said! Love your pets and dont let these people take them I have over 7 cats who I love deeply and they are wild and outdoors but I fixed them got them shots and feed them daily I just hope they leave us alone!

We adopted our girl Aizley (previously Roni) from the northwest spca in August. When we saw her on their website we knew she was the one! We drove over an hour to adopt her and the staff was so great getting everything together for us! We are so happy to have found THE perfect puppy to add to our family. Could not have had a better experience or a better pup for a life time of love and adventures!

When I went to choose a cat to spend my life with I wanted one that was healthy, happy, and well taken care of. The SPCA gave me a cat that is wonderful. Milo was well taken care of and had no problems. Great place to get an animal. Plus getting an animal there is a public service.

Compassionate, professional staff. My lovely dog was hit by a car. I had been looking everywhere for her. Cal Trans had picked her up and taken her to Northwest SPCA. She was wearing her collar, and she was microchipped. The SPCA called me and told me she was in really bad shape. I asked them to please euthanize her and I would be there soon. It was obvious to me they really cared about my dogs well-being. They euthanized her immediately. When I arrived they were amazing. They even transported her to my vet for cremation.The story is longer than this, but I have to once again say, they are wonderful.

Im a visitor of a friends house Palermo their husband stray cats do to people buying and selling or god-knows-what my friends adopted a few but we come out a doctor Mall and the Northwest SPCA is wonderful friendly place please go to adopt I saw a good little puppies during my visit and other you know nice young cats great for families starters children or Etc and they assure you. The cats got all her shots and whatsoever and a gives these young ones some new place to love or someone to love them play always been helpful helpful I wish I could stop the cap myself Im not allowed so have a 9 mm oh I might place because of you know Im just a runner but there are a lot of beautiful animals at the SPCA never really been an animal you know owner but since Im kinda independent now I wish I could be but even though I have to follow the rules but God bless the northern SPCA I help my friend turned in a few you know Stray Cats theyre just in abundance so if you ever need a cat or even a dog they even have service animals go to the northern SPCA

We adopted a cat from these guys and took it to the vet the next day and it needed a 1200$ surgery. they offered no help or direction on the situation.they offered our 50$ back for adoption fee or take the cat back but that isnt going to help.we already are attached to the little guy.they were very friendly but getting a cat that obviously needs surgery and adopting it out is bs

What can I say, Im on my 3rd rescue in 4 yearsAll 3 came from NWSPCA one at a time. Theyre all fixed, shots up to date and chipped. Wow for only $120. Surely you have an empty lap available. You can preview the adoptable pets they have on their web site. Thats how I got Ashley.

I am not sure what to think about this place. I thought it would be a good place to take a couple of pups that had been dropped by my home. The people were sort of nice but get the vibe that they really dont enjoy their job and made me feel like I was the bad person or something. I also put a notice out on the pups and someone really wanted to adopt them but they dont seem to put any priority into getting them processed and into the new home that wants them. I would think that should be their biggest priority, take the persons name and have them on a list so as soon as they are adoptable they can come pay for them. I got the understanding that they take them in and they have to wait four days before they will process them. I am just not sure what to think.

My dog got out and was picked up by N/W SPCA.I knew I would have to pay to get my dog out but wasnt prepared to pay 187.00 for 8 hrs.65.00 for impound fees,56.00 for the transport of my dog.31.00 boarding, 35.00 unaltered fee.Thats alot to get your dog out.If u cant afford to bail your dog then they try and find him a new home.If no one wants the dog he goes to doggie heaven.So it seems to me that your dog is being held hostage to you pay the ransome.I can understand paying a fee,but its way to punitive as it is.😕

We were in constant contact, 4 times and they kept saying they didnt have our dog! They had him 23 days and were 7 days away from killing him when we saw him on the website and seen him.We paid $120, to re adopt him! B.S.! Only one lady name Susan went out of her way to help us. He caught kennel cough andthen after a vet visit they diagnosed him with asthma, not kennel cough! An paid for that and shots so after all that and the vet visit for $200 we got our dog back and they had him the day after he disappeared so for 23 days my dog sad and was 7 days away from being euthanized I was Furious. All they had to do is check in for a chip and they didnt even do that let alone walk around the kennel to see if he even matched or description.
