Overall great experience with Northstar Solar from start to finish. They provide a quality product and install. The entire team is very responsive and knowledgeable. I decided to go with them because of a friend that used the same company. He had nothing, but good things to say and I can see why.

I highly recommend Northstar for solar and/or battery storage projects. They were professional in every stage of my solar/storage project. They gave multiple plans with detailed data/analysis and guided me to choose the right one, with a reasonable price. The equipment providers Enphase and REC are top tier. The solar panel placement is optimized for performance and aesthetics. Installation is beautiful.One outstanding thing of Northstar is that they also have roofing license. The installer found an existing hidden leak when they prepared for the installation. Their professional roofers came the next day, traced to the source of the leak and fixed it, just before the heavy rains which could cause major damage.

We used NorthStar solar to install 12KW solar system with a 20KW battery to backup our entire home in February of 2021.The process was super easy, and Ryan walked us through the quote over VC to make sure that we understood all the options and tradeoffs. We set up an installation time frame, and a few weeks before the window, the dates were finalized. The installation took 3 days and we only lost the power for a few of hours when the switchover happened. Since then we have not been affected by any of the outages in our area planned or unplanned.They handled all the bureaucratic details including the permitting and all interactions with PG&E.The only issue we encountered was the Enphase controller panel was defective. This was discovered at installation time when testing running the house on batteries and there was a buzzing sound coming from the panel. NorthStar got on the the phone with Enphase and got a new panel shipped once it was diagnosed to be defective. I lied above, there was another brief power outage when the panel was replaced.Finally, their quote came in 10% lower than other local solar companies.As you can see, we have nothing but positive things to say.

After interviewing three other popular, large solar companies I decided to hire Northstar for several reasons. When I spoke with Pierce Wahrlich,the sales rep, he did a comprehensive review of my hourly usage which helped a great deal in deciding how many panels I needed and what size batteries would be required. Communication was top notch. If I texted Dani the office manager she would respond almost instantly. Jason, Renaldo and the crew called ahead to let me know when they would be arriving or if there was a delay. The installation was flawless. Every member of the team knew exactly what and how to complete their individual task. They even crawled under the house to install the electrical from the battery to the controller, no easy task. The final city inspection went through with no hiccups. The last item of importance was that this was a local family business. It feels good to support a local company rather than some large corporation. I highly recommend Northstar. Interview them and see what you think.

If you need solar call this company! They go above and beyond to help you. Pierce really took the time to help me figure out something from a project that they didn’t even install. These are the people you want helping you through this process. Glad we are going with them to get a battery.

Ryan and the NorthStar solar team did a great job on my installation of Solar Panels and the replacement of my roof. I really enjoyed that Ryan took the time to explain the my installation estimate and provided plenty of details for me to understand what I was getting. Other installers would just try to get estimates out as fast as possible, but Ryan took the time to talk through everything. During the install things went pretty smoothly, we had some excitement with all the rain earlier in the year but Ryans head roofing installer was very responsive and came out quickly to resolve my concerns with the roof install. Concerns that I had about installation issues where listened to and acted on in a timely fashion. Solar install was super smooth, panels where installed and turned on in less than a week.

I had a video meeting with Ryan for a solar installation quote and was blown away by his professionalism and preparation. Combined with the quality of the services he offered and the competitive rates, It was an easy decision to choose NorthStar Solar for our solar installation.Prior to our meeting, I had met with a few solar companies already, who estimated they would not be able to finish the installation until probably the end of the year due to supply issues. Ryan said it would be ready in under two months and boy did they deliver! We signed the contract around late May and everything was up and running by early July!NorthStar took care of the permit applications and notified me step by step throughout the entire process. Dani and Dan would also send us periodic updates and were really quick with their responses to any questions I had.I cant say enough about how happy I am with NorthStar and their team. If you are looking for the best solar company not only in terms of prices but also customer service, you can stop looking because NorthStar will take care of you.

Northstar was amazing. They were low priced and highly responsive. A knowledgeable representative provided clear guidance on the system that would work for us, a professional designer provided plans for approval and made quick adjustments to relocate our EV charger, and a professionally run crew installed the system. It was less than 2 months from my first call to a fully installed system with PG&E and city approvals. I recommend them to anyone considering Solar.

Ryan, Dan and the NorthStar team were fantastic. From the initial consultation through the permitting process, installation, and post installation follow-ups the team was responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We had explored multiple quotes and found them quite competitive. I will be looking to them for future projects (battery back up, EV hook up etc). Highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Northstar. It was easy and painless from getting the price quote all the way to the installation. They handle everything but keep you in the loop at all times and don’t make any decisions without your consent. I’m always happy to be saving money but I’m especially happy to be doing my part in helping the environment. We get a lot of sun here in Livermore, and it would be a shame to waste it. I can’t recommend Northstar enough!

There are many choices when it comes to solar companies these days. I vetted several companies before choosing NorthStar to install our solar panels and Enphase battery system. From day 1, Dan, Ryan, and Danielle have been 100% responsive and professional. Their attention to detail, strong communication, and dedication to customer satisfaction leaves me with NO regrets. NorthStar provided a very competitive quote - we got quotations from 5+ companies in total. Their project manager (Dani) inspected the house and walked us through what would be done and when. The installation was on time and without any surprises. NorthStar has been very responsive whenever weve had any questions (no issues for them to fix so far).Would definitely recommend them for a headache free installation at a very competitive price.

If youre looking for a reasonable, reliable, by the book, and honest company for your solar system North Star Solar is the way to go. I myself knew nothing about what goes into installation, and overall use of a new solar system. Ryan educates you to the point where you know as much as he does and answers any questions to put your mind at ease. The installation team is very efficient and they work in a very timely manner. I had a total of 28 panels installed and it took about 3-4 days. I highly recommend Ryan and his team.

I contacted NorthStar Solar in the end of March. Signed the contract in earlier April. They help me enrolled into nem 2.0. And the system is installed on may. Pge approved the system on June. The solar system works well now. So far so good!

I recently had Ryan and his team out to install LG solar panels and I highly recommend you do the same. I spoke to a number of other companies and chose to go with NorthStar. Ryan walked me through his services compared to those from another company I was about to go with. He explained (and I was able to independently verify afterwards) that the other company was actually selling sub par hardware with minimal warranty. They finished the install a few weeks ago and I couldnt be happier - Im finally done with PG&E!Overall, they were quick, knowledgeable, thorough with a great price and great warranty. Highly recommended.

I could not be happier about my decision to choose North Star Solar as the provider for my residential solar system. (14.6kw) The entire process was efficient and virtually painless with North Star handling; the system design, county permitting, equipment specification and sourcing and installation- everything was done as per schedule and budget. I was especially impressed with their camera mapping system which accurately projected several layouts that met my annual needs. Kudos to the installation team also, they too did exactly what they said they would do - high quality workmanship, polite and friendly and finishing on time despite 100 + degree temps in August.BTW, I have worked in Renewable energy sector for more than 30 years (utility scale wind and solar) and large scale solar installations is very different than residential solar but similar enough that It gave me a practiced appreciation of the value that North Star provided for meThese guys are good!

Great experience, we were handled quick and proper, on all aspects. I highly recommend this company, who were responsive even in the time of facing that deadline, when other companies we contacted were either chocked and couldnt do anything or took like 2 months to respond. I selected this solar company based on my meeting with the owner Ryan and past experience with his work. He is an excellent business owner and very fair with his pricing on the solar panels he offers. He was friendly and showed a compassionate approach in helping us find the right solar system for our property. I am happy with the solar panel design that I approved because I really wanted to limit how many were visible from the front of my house.His installers were also super experienced and I like the fact that they were certified electricians. The installers were clean around our property, engaging in telling us about they work they were doing, and left a good impression on us. They were passionate about solar and polite. This is a stand up contractor to hire for solar panel installs. Northstar solar is a must if you need solar.

Are you thinking of going SOLAR? We were going back and forth about getting solar because we knew we needed a new roof. We met with a solar guy from sunrun and he was super nice and knowledgeable but when we tried to get the break down of the cost, his company wouldnt release anything without a contract. So with the information we had we reached out to a roofing company, Moctezuma Roofing who also contracts with Northstar Solar. Ryan from Northstar Solar met with us and answered all our questions we had and bet the price of sunrun. We made the decisions with the roof company and they came out the next day. We had a new roof installed in less than 4 days and solar installed the following week! They did an amazing job!!! Both companies were professional and respectful! I would definitely recommend!!!

Excellent company to buy solar from. We hired this company to install our solar system and everything went great. They have very competitive pricing and professional installers. They we’re very respectful of our property and made sure not to accidentally let our dog out, which was a big concern for us, since we were at work for half the time of the install. NorthStar Solar installed a ground mounted solar array for me. They had to work with challenging terrain, exceptionally hard ground, and through various COVID lock downs. Things got delayed for obvious reasons that were outside of their control, but the team powered through and worked around all the wrenches that got thrown in their wheels. Highly recommended!
