2024-03-28 02:13:56Father and son working side by side. Making sure their customers products are worked on for repairs in a timely, expedited manner. The son who has a YouTube channel named NorthridgeFix I enjoy watching because he knows what hes doing. I would say hes the best in the business of repairs, and I know no one who is as good as he is. I must say, he is an asset and works by himself with no one to pass on the mad skills and knowledge he has. I would suggest that he start a repair school to teach the craft of repairing all electronics. Very important.... Thank you, NorthridgeFix, for all your awesome work and the repairs you have done on my computers.

2024-03-19 06:53:06If you watch their videos, be skeptical, because the actual service quality will be much lower, especially if the problem cannot be solved, they will not refuse even if they know it cannot be solved, and they will charge high fees.If you see five star reviews, trust me, some of them are fake and have nothing to do with the content. Because customers want content that actually solves their problems, not self-glorifying content, and they’re not always busy at work. When customers come in person, they will act like they can solve a lot of problems and act busy, but in fact they can only solve simple problems. They know exactly how much they are capable of, or how far they can deceive the people watching the video. They solved my problem but the actual performance is different than what they show on the internet. This is very hypocritical and contrived.Expensive, fixed price, no testing. It only tests whether the PCB voltage passes and does not perform software testing. My question took over an hour to complete, but they promised to pick it up within four days, and even though they said they were busy, I gave them an extra two days. When I came to pick up my order I was told it would take a while to get your device and I saw the maintenance guy coming out of the break room. Obviously its not a break but theyre not working which means theyre not busy working all the time (if its ten days but only four days of real work why arent they responding to any emails) Do they have free time? ). This prompted repairs to be started on my equipment, a job that took over an hour and was not completed in six days. When I got home and used it, I noticed that their rude behavior had left scratches on the back panel of the graphics card. Although there is no damage, it is still clearly visible. The work is messy and the prices are high and dont match the service. I was introduced here by a fellow computer repairman. If your device is severely damaged, especially if it is damaged by electrical current, no repairs will be required. 99% of people will tell you this is irreversible. I know there is a large team in East Miami that can repair severely faulty motherboards, graphics cards, and laptop related equipment. Once the restoration is complete they do testing, cleaning and maintenance for about the same cost as here, but unfortunately the postage is more expensive than the equipment. This is a small team composed of professional and technical personnel, but it is not professional and serious enough. Know they need to charge more for everything to maintain the team but without commitment and serious work its hard to consider recommending hereKeep in mind that they will not respond to any questions or messages via email, especially for remote repairs of equipment, you will only see the price of your order, if your equipment is told it is only repaired but not guaranteed to work, please leave. Your device malfunctions due to current flow Be prepared to accept a damaged device rather than paying a hefty fee, trust me the results are not guaranteed so consider this.

2024-05-21 05:20:24If I for some reason couldn’t repair my own boards, Alex is the only other person I would trust to do it right. Also I order my amtek flux from him so I know it’s genuine. Also also his YouTube videos are awesome.

2024-03-29 09:23:06Quoted me $175 for motherboard CMOS connector repair. After I mailed the laptop in they then changed the price to $295 because i sent them the whole laptop (they never told me the original price required I only mail the motherboard) and never asked me if i wanted to continue with repair given the new almost DOUBLE price. They just said they will let me know when it will be done after bait and switching me. I also mailed them a $95 check with the laptop for 1-9 day expedited service which they deposited into their bank account right away. After 12 days had passed with zero contact i contacted them, they said they would talk to the tech and follow up with me and never did. After this I contacted them again several days later, and again at the 20 day mark. Both times they said they would talk to the tech and get back to me and never did. At this point they were just holding my laptop hostage and giving me the run around, so i threatened legal action if they didnt return it back to me. Finally all of a sudden the next day the laptop was fixed. No apology for the lack of communication, no apology for taking MORE THAN DOUBLE the time that I paid for, no discount for the inconvenience, nothing. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. They just sent me an invoice, and kept my $95 expedited service check when it took them 22 DAYS to repair not 9 days. Its really sad that this is the kind of crap you have to deal with as a first time customer and theres nothing you can really do about it. They can just treat you like garbage, lie to you and take your money. I loved this mans YouTube channel and wouldve loved if he did a repair video on my laptop but this whole experience was so awful that I dont ever want to do business with this place again. I regret ever sending in my laptop and will be unsubscribing. The only reason they get an extra star is because the repair was done and laptop is fixed (was sent back with a missing screw though to add insult to injury).

2024-03-14 22:03:15About a year ago my brother in law took a MacBook in that wouldn’t boot after being in a car accident. He really needed the data saved only on there. His only criticism was repair and response time was slower than expected. He also got me interested in their YouTube channel.HOWEVER, he had zero hope initially that he was going to get anything back, and board level repair on anything is HIGHLY specialized. Because of my brothers work he doesn’t post anything publicly, but asked me to do this review for him when he saw another of their videos. He said he would give a 9/10 if it was a google review option.I did the review because I have worked in electronics in some facet for decades and know that most things are just deemed losses ASAP, and even so called “technicians” have zero clue.Doing keyhole surgery is almost easier that these kind of repairs, so if something is actually unrepairable, that’s sometimes life.

2024-05-06 16:11:26Poor customer service, turnaround and switched pricing. I asked for rush service, sent the part next day air along with rush payment. I did not hear from them for months and then they tell me the cost is higher than they quoted.

2024-02-27 14:47:11Ive had an incredibly disappointing experience with NorthridgeFix, a repair service I came across via their YouTube channel. Like many others, I was swayed by their online presence and decided to send my Roku device for repair, following the instructions detailed on their website. I specified the device type during the submission process, and it was accepted, leading me to believe they could handle the repair. All required documents were included, and the device was shipped to their facility.A few weeks after receipt, I received a bewildering email stating my Roku was a no-fix because they do not service Roku devices, claiming its not practical or cost-effective. They mentioned an impending invoice for the repair attempt and return shipping, offering to recycle the device if I didnt want it returned. This was a shock for two reasons:Miscommunication: The emails assertion We do not currently work on Roku devices was startling. I had clearly indicated the device type when I submitted the repair request. This lack of upfront communication is unacceptable.Unjust Charges: Despite acknowledging no work could be done, they still planned to charge me for attempting a repair and for return shipping. This felt particularly unfair given that:Diagnostic: NoWork Approved: NoWork Completed: NoIts perplexing and frustrating to be charged when no diagnostic was performed, no work was approved, nor completed. Its clear there was no attempt to repair, yet the demand for payment persists. From my experience, I strongly advise against using NorthridgeFix. Their handling of my situation demonstrates a lack of transparency and fairness, making it hard to trust their services.

2024-05-27 20:56:41*Im technically local and want to stay objective in this review. I would recommend the Better Business Bureau reviews*It seems there are little options to get ahold of the repair team unless you can drop in locally. Their online ticketing rep, does their best to coordinate, but the repair team at the shop are not very communicative regarding updates.I dropped my 3090 card off at the height of the 12vhp melting connector debacle. Was given an estimate time frame of 6-8 weeks. Considering my specific issues, the initial price estimates seemed reasonable. It was identified that my repair required a part from a donor board, understandable. All in all, fair, but not ideal. However, there was little to zero information exchanged/updated during the quoted repair period. Upon requesting a weekly update between the 6-8 week mark, their ticketing rep was unable to assist. At the 8 week mark, the ticketing rep was unable to confirm whether my GPU had been worked on or not. During this period, I was thinking about abandoning and getting a new card.I was available to drop by shortly after the estimated repair period expired. They had undergone repairs, still needed to replace the donor board chip, and completed the repair for pickup the following day. It seemed like I needed to remind them of the identified issues and when asking about the repair/health of the gpu, it was stated that they didnt play games with the card.My card is functional and hitting performance targets. If the option wasnt there, I wouldve of spent an additional $1000 on a new GPU. However, I wouldnt say its back to factory quality, but Im happy. I truly appreciate the Northridge Fix team, but for $370 I really wish they had better coordination/communication with customers and wouldnt leave them in the dark.
