(We got strawberry and rum raisin) They weren’t overly sweet like most ice cream places are.I can see why some reviews were complaining about the price. I ordered a single scoop of ice cream in the cup. comparing to how much ice cream you normally would get from other places, it is a smaller portion. HOWEVER I personally don’t want to eat a huge amount of ice cream at once and I do appreciate the smaller portion with better quality ingredients. So it works out perfectly for me. :) My husband ordered one scoop in a waffle cone and his portion of ice cream looks more than mine in the cup. So if you want more ice cream, maybe get them in a waffle cone instead of a cup.I highly recommend this place if you like homemade, fresh, and tasty ice-creams. I can’t wait to come back and try other flavors next time!!

2023-01-13 00:49:02So I remember my dad taking us kids here when we were little. Few and in-between because we were poor. But it was such a fantastic highlight in my memories.I eat ice cream once in a while, since I dont like feeling cold. But today, I had that craving.I decided to make a trip to see how good it is, because they are over 70 years strong. Amazing how they have survived!Unlike a franchise, the dining area is only on the outside. Here everything is handmade. The fruit flavors are locally picked. Isnt that awesome? So my husband got a scoop of Khalua Krunch and a scoop of CocoJack. I got a scoop of Vanilla Brownies & Cream and a scoop of Mango. So yummy 😋 😍 😊 nummy!!!She gave me a taster of the Avocado Pistachio, oh my freaking goodness sakes. This stuff is soooo 👏 🙀 amazing! So I bought a half gallon.Come out to Neiderfranks and support local community and small business owners so we can thrive together! ❤❤❤

The ingredients are clearly high quality and the variety is impressive. I had a blackberry vanilla and it was wonderful. Definitely check it out if youre in the area

2024-01-31 16:22:45Niederfranks is a National City Institute. It has been business for years. It mainly sells ice cream but does have limited pies. The ice cream is made locally (I think in the back of the store). The ice cream is very smooth and creamy because of the ingredients they use. They have a large selection of flavors, like Pineapple Mango, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cookie Dough, Chocolate, Vanilla, Golden Pistachios, and the list goes on and on. I think they have 50 or more flavors. They have malts, shakes, and Sundays and will make them using any flavor you choose. It is a small store front with no seating inside . There are a couple of tables outside in front. The employees are very friendly and will provide taste samples if asked. Prices are good.I always get 4 or 5 half gallons when I stop by. The ice cream holds up great in the freezer at home. There are some restaurants next door or within a block of Niederfranks. Parking can be an issue as there isnt a parking lot. The street parking can fill up due to the other businesses in the area.I recommend this place.

2022-06-14 18:42:59This is one of the oldest ice creameries in town. The line might look long but it does fast. The hardest part of picking which flavor to try!Honestly you cant go wrong with any of them!Thai tea is a family fave.& Strawberry Cheesecake and Golden Pistachio. The sorbets are off the charts too!I saw a couple getting a banana split and was a little jealous....next time, next time.

2021-10-24 21:09:36Its a small place, but they serve some of the best ice cream in So-Cal. Nice and tasty, with charming little seasonal events and specials that truly pleasure the palate. Not to mention the quaint, humble atmosphere of the place. I could actually taste more of the flavor than the cream.

2021-08-15 00:23:24This is a classic old school ice cream shop but they have tons of delicious sounding flavors. I had the turtle cheesecake in a waffle cone. It was very tasty. I definitely want to come back soon to try other flavors. They have sundaes and ice cream cakes too!

2022-11-21 06:10:46Love the banana and golden pistachio flavored ice cream here. Its great to have an old fashioned ice cream shoppe in town. A little on the pricey-side, but worth the quality and worth supporting a small business. The brownie in the brownie sundae is so good. Ooey gooey.

2021-05-22 22:52:45Been waiting to try this place for a while now. The ice cream was incredible, creamy, not overwhelming sweet and you could taste the ingredients. I couldnt help my self and got the personal pumpkin pie ice cream. It was a mini pie crust with ice cream scoop and whip cream. Its now the best pumpkin ice cream ive had. Also trued the brownies and cream and some vanilla. I highly recommend it, hidden gem and very friendly staff.
