Dr Desai had previously completed successful surgery on my right wrist so I had no hesitation in consulting with him about diagnosing my troubling finger issue. He diagnosed trigger finger and ultimately I decided to opt for a surgical procedure. I am now two weeks post surgery and only I believe only a few days from achieving full range of motion and recovery. Thanks to Dr Desai!

Dr. Desai is amazing! He and his staff take such great care! He doesn’t keep you waiting for appointments and after my surgery he and his staff were always available to answer any questions or concerns. Best medical experience ever!

I received excellent care from Dr. Desai as well as from all the nurses and support staff at Newport Orthopedic Institute. From diagnosis, through treatment and aftercare, everyone was extremely professional and thorough while at the same time personable and caring. Dr. Desai is an amazing and caring doctor, even his staff are committed and caring people...I recently had hand surgery; and the surgery and the daily follow from him and his staff was beyond my expectations.Every day I received helpful recovery guidance. I had trigger finger surgery and felt like their attention from the office to the surgery center to the program was so efficient. The daily login was really helpful in letting them know if you have concerns and also gave you suggestions on care. Dr. Desai was wonderful

Highly recommend Dr. Desai. Every orthopedic surgeon weve seen at NOI has been great and Dr. Desai is no exception. Dr. Desai provided excellent care during diagnosis, approach and ultimately pre and post-op. Highly skilled, did an amazing job fixing my wrist and hand. Smart, professional, friendly and cares about his patients. The PAs and support team follow his lead and the culture. The communication throughout was fantastic and I felt like my hands and I were in the best hands!

Had carpal tunnel surgery with Dr. Desai. Couldnt have asked for a better team or outcome. My hand felt like it was on fire before surgery and my thumb and three fingers had no feeling before surgery and now they are back to normal and pain free.

Got me in quickly. Very helpful during consultation. Office was efficient in scheduling surgery and explaining everything I needed to know. Post surgery, they’ve checked in every day. They respond to questions quickly. Put your injury in good hands!

Dr. Desai is excellent. He did a distal radius open reduction for me, I had broken wrist from roller blading. Two weeks post surgery I have a brace (no cast) and am working through physical therapy. I feel so much better and things are healing very well.

I felt very well tended to throughout both my carpel tunnel syndrome and trigger finger operation and post operation procedures. He is a very competent doctor with competent and friendly staff to assist him. Good show all around!

Dr. Shaunak Desai and the team at Hoag surgery center were exceptional. Leticia at the front desk, Beryl--the pre-op nurse, Heather--the or team, Teri--the post-op nurse were all attentive, friendly and very calming. My husband and I had lots of questions about possible outcomes for inserting a plate in my wrist. Dr. Desai was great at explaining the surgery and my options. I am amazed that my pain has been like a minimal 2 on a scale of 10. Thanks also to NOIs efficient caring staff. All is well! Thank you!

Dr. Desai is a great doctor and surgeon. He talks to you about your problem and Lays out all the possible treatment recommendations. He then gives you the chance to decide what is best for you. He even called me after surgery to check in on me the next day. Highly recommend him!

I asked dr. Desai to complete my surgery endoscopically meaning at the wrist rather than the hand. He did it endoscopically the surgery was very successful. The pain and downtime was dramatically less at the wrist vs. the hand. I was very impressed that he even called me on Saturday after the surgery to see how I was feeling. I would recommend this doctor 100 %

Fantastic doctor! He repaired my left wrist three years ago and it turned out perfectly. When I broke my right wrist recently, I wouldn’t consider going to anyone else. Compassionate, extremely skilled doctor!

Dr. Desai fixed my broken wrist joint. He is so good at what he does. Professional and courteous and always willing to answer questions. I’ve been to other doctors for ortho surgery, and those experiences were not as good as this one. I highly recommend Dr. Desai.

3 weeks ago I took a hard fall while cycling. I shattered my collar bone and had a smaller fracture to my elbow. This on a Saturday. The Newport Ortho Institute was the practice covering the ER that weekend, and gave me the name of one of the specialists to follow up with. On Monday I saw Dr. Desai and after reviewing the xrays and discussing the options, I opted to proceed with surgery. This occurred 5 days later. Dr. Desai had to piece together a few loose bits of bone and re-approximate them in position with a titanium plate and about 12 screws - all in tight, swollen tissue.I am so pleased with the results. It is 2 weeks post-op and I have great range of motion, good strength and Ive already been back on my bike. I cant thank him enough for his technical skills, but he is also kind, and personable, and pleasant at the bedside. Thank you Dr. Desai.

I understood what to expect and was in frequent communication with the office. The doctor checked in daily through the internet and any concerns were addressed in a professional, timely manner. I went to Dr. Desai because of his great reputation and he did not disappoint. I highly recommend him.
