Joseph and the NEO builders did a great job converting our detached garage into a studio ADU on the west side. From project design to permitting to construction and finishing, the team was responsive, reliable, and accommodating. We had a tight timeline for construction and Joseph was able to get the project done, while meeting all of our requirements. Joseph and his team have been amazing during the process of building our ADU. They are all extremely friendly and professional. Joseph created the plans based on feedback from my mother (who will be living there) and I. He took care of the entire permitting process and kept us informed every step of the way. Once the permitting was complete he provided us a bid for the construction of the ADU, which was very fair with regards to the cost and with a fast estimated timeline. Throughout the construction process he and has team have exceeded our expectations. Joseph has stayed in close communication on all the projects being completed within the ADU and made sure he has our input on all the design elements. He is very honest about what is possible and doesnt promise anything he cant deliver. He has been staying in the budget originally outlined. We have even asked his team to complete a couple of extra projects for us because they have been so phenomenal. Even with all the rain this winter, his crew has continued working and weve been staying on schedule. The ADU is now nearly finished completion and we are more than happy with the results. I could not recommend Neo Builders more highly!

My husband and I had questions for Joseph and he was on time for our phone call to discuss business which tells me a lot about a persons work ethic, but also very helpful with questions we had regarding building an ADU. Unfortunately, we could not use his services because I didn’t realize he was out of our area. However, he kindly still took the time to educate us with questions we had.I found his work on YouTube. Joseph is very knowledgeable and very professional. He is intimately familiar with ADUs and garage conversion guidelines, times, and estimated costs. For example, he looked at one photo of our garage and correctly guessed the type of roof construction, and immediately gave us ballpark estimates on what type of work is needed, what kind of issues we might run into, and rough timeline for expected completion. Based on how he presents himself on these calls, I know he takes his craft seriously. Take the free consultation with him because he’s genuinely interested in educating the general public about ADUs and not just doing this for a quick profit. In our case, our location was too far from his region but he continued to spend 30+ minutes on the investment rationale, the financing options available etc. it was truly a remarkable experience, and I’m so glad we spoke. If I have another ADU opportunity close to his region, I will definitely pay for his time because his feedback and expertise is worth their weight in gold. Thanks Joseph, and good luck!

Used Joseph to handle the architectural plans, permits, etc for my HPOZ home to get an ADU approved. Super knowledgeable, and great at keeping you up to date on what is going on. First time for me doing this so Im not familiar w/ all the concepts and acronyms around doing an ADU but Joseph walked me through everything and kept me in the loop. It has been little over 2 years since we met Joseph and Manny from Neo Builders. They came over to our home, provided value information, and educated us in all aspects of building an ADU. Unfortunately, we did not continue with our project due to personal matters on our end.Fast-forward 2 years, I came across one of Joseph’s current projects on Instagram. He was hosting an open house and provided an opportunity for individuals to view the ADU. The ADU-Open House was a bit of a drive from our home (little over 70 miles), but it was worth the drive.I had the chance to see one of his works in-progress and meet with one of his clients who happened to be there. It wasn’t a surprise to hear the positive feedback from his client with their experience working with Joseph.I did speak to Joseph about starting our project, again, but after a brief conversation with him, Joseph suggested it might not be worth pursuing based on our goals and neighborhood leasing comps.Most companies would have just wrote up a contract, taken our money, and started the project, but not Joseph. He provided different options and made it a priority to see if building an ADU would be in our best interest. Talk about being client-centered!Although we did not use Neo Builders (we definitely will), I can honestly say Joseph and his company have their client’s best interest in mind when providing exceptional customer service and quality construction.Thank you, again, Joseph!

Before my wife and I purchased our 2nd home, we decide to go with a home we can convert a garage to an ADU. I stared to do research. Neo builders was the first company I called. All other companies I reached out too did not respond. I was having difficulty with a Architect. I reached out to them for the second time for architectural drawings and again, the response was with in 24 hours. The Knowledge Joseph was willing to give us was awesome. Most businesses won’t share information with you unless your doing business with them. If you need help with your ADU build I would highly recommend this company.Ask for Joseph or Mike.

Joseph and team did a fantastic job. We have a downstairs open area with a full bathroom, lights and HVAC all set up, but needed that fourth wall (see pics).We started looking for a contractor who could add a simple fourth wall to make it more a room - which we wanted to make a home gym.We had 6-7 contractors come by, evaluate and give us recommendations and pricing. Joseph and team won hands down. Level of detail was high. While most others recommended a standard wall with some kind of pocket door, he heard our concerns about that option and closing the space off so he suggested a glass wall; almost like youd find at a hotel gym.Josephs glass guy Alex did the full eval. Both Joseph and Alex were highly responsive, knowledgeable and extremely detailed. Also they didnt come off as pushy and salesmanlike, which half the contractors attempted when we met them, which I hate.We agreed on a design, we tweaked it, looked at samples, locked in the plan, and then within 3 weeks, got it all done. The detail and finish makes it fit right into our home, as if it was always there.Great Job highly recommend them.

We were so fortunate to come across Neo Builders because of a recommendation on La Mommies. From the moment the project to convert our existing garage from the year 1926 to an ADU began, we could already tell we were in good hands. Manny and Joseph were constantly on site supervising/helping out and the workers were all professional and kept the job site clean the whole time. They followed COVID safety protocols and worked as fast as possible to get the job done, without compromising quality. We could tell they cared as much as us about the outcome. This became apparent because they were always thinking a a couple steps ahead and doing what they could to prevent any delays. Even our thorough Beverly Hills city inspector was impressed with their experience, open-mindedness, and creative solutions for any challenges that came up during construction (you never know what to expect until you open the walls). Throughout the whole process, the communication with them was excellent and they were always willing to help and answer any question right away. We couldnt be more pleased with the outcome and will be recommending them to friends and family.
