This Italian restaurant gives me at home feel free to bring here . From a family style atmosphere to the customer service experience. I like artwork on the walls! The lasagna is my favorite. I’m a pizza lover so of course the pizza to me is delicious ( I had pineapple with mushrooms & pepperoni as my toppings ) yum 😋 ! I like how they offer Capri salad with the balsamic dressing ( that’s my favorite style salad … )

I grew up in New England Im always complaining about the lack of good Italian and pizza on the west coast. Here I just shut up and eat. Chicken parm is killer, sauce a bit on the sweet side but not a deal breaker. Plus Tom Waits used to work here great place.

You must have patience to eat here. However you will be grateful once you bite into the several layers of cheese and pepperoni. Then the crust takes it up a notch to delightful. The pie is worth the wait. The buffalo wings are spicy but delicious. Great service!

Ive heard about this place before and finally decided to try it. Very comfortable and clean restaurant. The food and service was above my expectations. As soon as I got there I was greeted and sat on a booth. I was even given recommendations. I got the Petes buffalo wings and the spaghetti amatriciana with shrimp. Very tasty wings and the pasta was amazing as well. Haley was the server helping me out. She was very attentive and friendly. Her service was above and beyond. My whole experience was. The restaurant is well lit with plenty of fans for air circulation. Theres an AMI music jukebox if you want to put music. Theres a very nice full bar as well. The restroom is very spacious & clean. I will definitely be coming back. This might be my go-to for Italian food. As a San Diego native, I wish I would have known about it earlier.

Delicious food, friendly service, and clean. We had a large group and ordered salads, wings, spaghetti, and pizzas. They did a great job serving fresh food in a timely manner. Didnt give a fifth star because I found the pizza salty for my taste despite me being a salt lover. I will go back and see if it was the day or just their recipe. Still enjoyable pizza and everything else was five stars!!!

I first ate here in the early 90s. It was a great place with great food.I was back in town this week and stopped in to eat here again close to 30 years later and the food was every bit delicious as I remembered!!Great staff and one of the best pizzas Ive ever had. I wish there were more family owned places like this where I am living now.Hopefully I can return again soon.

Maybe I came in at a weird time, but I wasn’t super impressed by the food or service here. The pizza was decent, though the crust left something to be desired. The salad was a bit overpriced for what it was. My favorite item was the carrot cake.The service was spotty and the waitress was absent for long periods of time even though there weren’t that many people in. That said, the cashier was really nice and helpful.Overall it was a fairly mediocre experience. There are a lot of other pizza places I’d recommend over this spot: Tribute, Bronx, Lefty’s, and Regents are all places I prefer. Again, maybe it was an off day. I’d recommend going elsewhere for a great pizza and experience, however.

The ugly chick that was the cashier was super rude. When I called and ordered she abruptly hung up without telling me time till order was ready or my total. I called back and she laughed and said sorry I’m a mocking way. Got there and asked how much ranch was. She turned around and smirked at the cook then told me. Then she got the ranch and dropped it on the floor. She then asked if I wanted to leave a tip….no. An attitude change and a little makeup wouldn’t hurt…

If I could give zero starts, I would.This place is beyond terrifying, starting with the staff. We had to seat ourselves since no one was at the entrance. Once seated, we ordered and everything seemed okay after that. As we were half way our food a cockroach started crawling from the side of our booth. Obviously it killed the appetite. We informed the waitress, female by the way, and she told my partner to kill it with a napkin since he is the man on the table. That itself was disgusting behavior and obviouso to be mad about. They of course still charged our food and never did they apologized nor the owner/manager spoke to us at all. Will NEVER eat there again nor do I recommend it.

I have been going this establishment many years and I have never had any complaints. Today was a very disappointing day for experience. We ordered two pizzas and when my step-daughter went to pick them up they forgot one pizza. So she had to wait for the other pizza so she asked if they would make two fresh ones because the other one would get cold. The bald gentleman at the front said no. He made another pizza and gave us one cold pizza and one fresh pizza. The gentleman behind the counter had a very bad attitude and was yelling at the young lady at the register. Customer service is my number reason to return to an establishment and in my opinion customer service was not his number one concern today. I will not be going back to this pizzeria ever again. Over 20 years of loyalty to this place from me and over 40 years from my family. Today this made me not ever want to walk-in her ever again. A mistake was made but the nasty attitude of one individual made it worse.

Best pizza in the south bay, use to come here as a kid, now I am bringing my own son here now. Alot of happy memories, still keeping it original. The chicken parmesan is a must have. They are not shy at all with the meat on the sandwiches, I believe i had the Sicilian sandwich. Love it!

1st impression is cozy, clean well maintained! Server is very friendly and good with kids! Little arcade in the back . Cheese bread, wings, torpedo sandwich and pizza were incredibly delicious! Sauces are definitely made in house! Also have a music box/machine. Cant say enough good stuff! Highly recommend for big crowds and family!

I ordered the pitcher for 12$ as a family of four the waitress had to be called to give me a refill as she just looked and noticed an empty pitcher as she walked by several times ...I am a new customer and had to ask if refills were free as my kids were sucking nothing but air and ice out of their cups...thanks for letting me know about the refills ...that is clearly a sign of bad service ...I reluctantly gave a tip and i wish I hadnt.. photos will be on an update..

I have eaten here once or twice over the last couple years and I like thier pizza. I dont remember if Ive had any of thier pasta dishes though. Its Saturday evening at 630. I walk in and the place is practically empty. I expected it to be a little busy being a weekend, and new years weekend to boot. Anyway. I sit down and service is quick, cool. Friendly and polite double cool. So good service. I look at the menu and settle on spaghetti with Italian sausage. 19.00 + 7.00 extra for the sausage. So 26.00 for a plate. A bit pricey. Will comment on the quality after I eat.Ok, so it was a good size portion. Which is cool if there were 2 of us. And no half portions on the menu. So bad for menu choices. The noodles were not drained very well so the water ended up diluting the sauce making it bland. Then I realized I order sausage with it and didnt see it. Then as I probed the pasta with my fork I saw it was a sausage patty. I dont know, maybe Im picky. Ive eaten in many of the major cities in the US and I have never seen this. Strikes me as pretty low end culinary aesthetics. Have the plate is appearance. So I had tasteless sauce on a sausage patty over soggy noodles. Great pizza, but I wont ever order thier pasta again. A 12.00 dollar meal for 26.00.When the server asked me how I was doing I politely told her my concern. I was nice because she was really nice and her service was good. In the end she discounted my dinner even after I told her not too. I would pay the full price. But she did anyway. I left her a decent tip.This place is a local landmark. 60+yrs. I know quite a few native national city folks. Not kids, but seniors who were here in its N.C.s heyday. And everyone knows the place.

A great place for lunch. Not just pizza, they had lasagna and more. I do wish the nice salad and garlic bread were brought before the main dish, but the lasagna was kept hot in a baking dish while I ate the buttered garlic bread and very nice salad.

Overall, Napoleones is a fantastic place to grab a tasty meal from without breaking the bank too much! Ive both done dine-in and take-out with them, and every experience has been absolutely pleasant!The staff are friendly and experienced. Theres been a few times when they were also able to make solid recommendations from their menu and have not disappointed!The atmosphere is very reminiscent of humble beginnings and a type of local charm that I love, personally.Ive never had the pleasure of dining with them for breakfast, but every experience with lunch and dinner has been the best for both me and my family!Napoleones Pizza House is a local restaurant that I am proud to visit often, knowing I leave with a positive vibe and a good meal.

I thought I was just going to be having a nice mom and pop pizza and it turns out this is one of my top slices of all time! I ordered a pizza to go and they were kind enough to make it even 5 minutes after the restaurant had closed I think, they handed me a box and I swear I needed both hands to carry it and Im a strong man! Last time I had a pizza where one or two slices maximum would fill up a grown man was when I was in Manhattan about 30 years ago and this pizza was just as good as any back East slice. They also had so many other things on the menu and all looked very delicious. A very great value as one pizza fed two people one night and I had slices with my son on two consecutive mornings as it was even better cold the next day! I would order an extra pizza if I was you to have cold slices the next day or two because its really good either way hot or cold, excellent ratio of cheese to crust and such a nice family who runs the place. Give it a try and tell me what you think

Wanted to try a local spot while I was down here and saw there was a place close that had pizza...and its pizza, how can pizza be bad...ordered a Buffalo chicken pizza and normally I wouldnt get something like that but I was coaxed to give it a try by my date...got back home and wow...the staff was very nice and the pizza was great..and I was told by my date that it was one of the best pizzas theyve had. I still havent tried the piece of cheesecake we got also but it is sitting in the fridge for later

Update: remodeled- looks great. They have their own parking lot now. Peter is still in the kitchen and Tom Waits is still on the juke box. Theyve spruced it up, but it still evokes the 1950s. Good, inexpensive menu. If you like chess on your pizza this is your place.

So I have been looking for a good pizza place in San Diego and to be honest I have yet to find one that I really enjoy. This place had good Buffalo wings I would give a 7 out of 10. Not too much sauce which made the chicken even better. But the pizza was a 4 out of 10. The cheese was cheap and they put too much of it on. That why it’s so greasy that the cardboard box soaks it up until it’s soggy. The crust is spongy and cheap and reminded me of pizza crust of military cafeterias. The entire thing just tasted like a salty, cheesy, cafeteria pizza.

Ordered the works pizza which includes tons of gooey cheese, green bell peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, and huge chucks of italian sausage!!!! Got the medium sized and it was huge!!!! There were 4 of us and we couldnt finish it. So good!!!!!! Will definitely be coming back soon.

I dined in for lunch on a Wednesday, I was the only customer for most of my meal. The Food was better than I expected, portions werent as big as I was hoping them to be. Napoleones is one of our favorite spots for pizza. The service is always good, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the food never disappoints. Its a hidden gem with lots of nostalgia and a pleasant atmosphere where friends and family can enjoy each others company while sharing a few slices of pizza. The menu is simple but with enough choice for most everyone to find something theyll enjoy. The prices are more than reasonable and while the parking may be a bit challenging, its worth it.

I really do not like doing this but, I was staying close to Napoleones and reading their website, it says making quality pizza for decades. There are three things that make a good pizza, dough, sauce and cheese. Napoleones didnt get any of them right. Horrible and in fact, it gave me food poisoning as well as two other people who ate it. There was no taste to the sauce (also watery) or cheese and the cheese was so thick it fell right off the pie, in one piece. Who doesnt like cheese right? Too much cheese is also disgusting, if the cheese is poor quality or imitation especially. I picked it up, so no comments on service or atmosphere. You need to get pizza making lessons, it was terrible.

Went with 3 other coworkers who exclaimed it was the best place they had during our stay in San Diego (came all the way from Maine). I am inclined to agree that the service was friendly and the food was very well done. The crust is crispy, with the toppings being on top and under the cheese. Reasonable price made it a highlight during our time in San Diego. After trying out multiple different restaurants of various cuisines, I would love to come back here when I visit San Diego again.

Im reading the other reviews and feel cheated! My experience just made me sad. In my heart I knew I should order Mr. Motos but this place was cheaper, and had a similar rating. I used delivery since my toddler was napping. When i grabbed the box from my delivery lady I noticed it was soggy in the corner. When i opened the box most of the cheese was off the crust and in the corner of the box instead. I used a fork to scrape it back on top. I then realized there was no safety sticker to ensure the seal wasnt broken during delivery, there was no three pronged little table in the middle for stability or a paper sheet under the pizza to minimize grease soaking into the box. I now begin to worry about germs. Delivery lady seemed nice enough but she could have opened this box and done anything. I decided I needed to quickly eat a couple slices so if I were to get sick I would know before feeding any to my toddler after nap time. Pizza tasted like cardboard with some bagged mozzarella cheese (versus fresh) and canned tomato sauce that wasnt seasoned. I feel confident Ive had better pizza at Chuck E Cheese on the east coast. I added some basil, oregano and red pepper flakes to try and produce some flavor. It still makes me sad eating it but I dont feel bad physically so Ill give the rest to my toddler. Her palette isnt that sophisticated. She does enjoy well seasoned lamb chops but also ate some boxed mac n Cheese that spilled on the floor yesterday. Shes quick. I seem to be in the minority so maybe avoid delivery and youll have a better experience.

I paid $30 for one of the smallest, least enjoyable medium pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust was hard, the cheese was way too thick without adding anything to the flavor, and the sauce tasted like Ragu. Either I came on an exceptionally bad day, they are paying for good reviews, or there’s been a recent change in management, cause I absolutely cannot believe anyone would positively review the pizza I received.

I used to come here as a kid. Amazingly, the place feels exactly like it did back then, yet it still looks and feels clean. The garlic bread could use some more flavor, but it and everything else here just screams home cooked Italian food.

Ordered a ravioli dinner and meatball sandwich. Side salad was a half head of lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes. No sandwich. Called and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Hung up and called again. Someone finally answered after about 5 rings. Girl that answered was extremely rude, said that I never ordered a sandwich. I explained that I had a full conversation about if sandwich came with fries or not and she had told me that they dont sell fries so why would it come with it? She remembered the conversation and said well you never ordered the sandwich. Yes, yes I did. She even confirmed it over the phone. Very rude staff

I love Napoleon pizza for years when I got stationed in San Diego that was one of the first places I have pizza. Im from New York so reminds me of a taste from back home. Theyre always friendly in the service is great but the pizza is terrific!

I have lived in San Diego since 1973 and never been here yet I have heard of it but we went this weekend for the first time and ordered the feast which was two medium three topping pizzas salad spaghetti cheese bread and drinks and it was absolutely one of the best Italian food experiences lve eaten and it was not expensive at all. Delicious pizza perfect combination of the toppings with the cheese and the atmosphere is so easy going and relaxing. The service was excellent as our waiter came by at least a half dozen times during our meal and kept our sodas topped off so definitely getting a 10 out of 10 from us and we will be returning there soon whenever I am in the mood for some Italian pizza. Trust me on this 🥰

Had dinner there with my kids the worst service. The waitress (Arlene)didnt ask my kids if they wanted drinks I had to ask for them. My mom ordered lasagna she never got it when we asked shr said let me see and said no sorry do you want me to put in a order I said no its ok cause we were almost done with the pizza she didnt come back and ask if we needed anything she was on her phone the whole time. When I asked for something it seemed like she was bothered. I have been going here for 30 years never had an experience like his before.

The food and service are first class. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the history of this restaurant. The food isnt bought from a restaurant supply store it is made on site. I witnessed them transferring tomato sauce from a 60 quart pot to a storage container to put on the pizza.

Awesome place to eat fresh pizza and old fashioned cheese cake! We almost pasted it up from the outside because it looked plain, but once in side we realized what a gem this place is. It is a quaint place with a homefeel to it, obviously a favorite for the locals as it was busy. Even with the place over half full/ being spacious also, the staff was plentiful and pleasant. They even had TVs to watch the game and a juke box for music. Wall art depicted history of the place which we found to be just the right touch. We absolutely loved the works pizza and the cheese cake beat out our cheese cake experience from the cheese cake factory the night before! Would recommend this stop to any family and friends in the area.

This is a very cool place! You get the feeling that all the employees are from one big family and that they enjoy working here! The prices are unbelievably low. They serve beer and wine, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and pasta dinners. Open Monday - Saturday 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM. They have a pool table and a juke box with many of Waits tunes. Check out the picture of Tom and Sal (the owner) taken in 2002! I had a 12 Torpedo for $3.95 and it was the best that Ive ever had! Im not kidding! It was damn good!

I just found this place. The first time me and my kids came here I would have rated it a 5, the young waitress was awsome!. But today was our second time going And one of the waitresses had the balls to ask me for a tip. That threw me off and left a bad taste in my mouth even though the food was amazing. People dont just go to places for food, they want a good experience as well. I usually wait until I pay my check and I leave a tip on the table as I leave a restaurant. So I was taken aback when I handed the waitress my card and she asked me if I wanted to leave her a tip on my card. It made me uncomfortable that I had to explain to her that I had cash in my wallet and not to worry Im leaving it on the table. That was just so weird. I always tip wherever I go even if the service isnt the best bc I know how customer service can be but dannnnnng how shameless can you be. If anything a tip is common courtesy, heffa dont try to run my wallet.

Sorry guys but not the Greatest. Pizza cheese burnt. 2 pieces of salami in a house salad..they called that anti-pesto salad..not happy..order was wrong on the sandwhich and I had better. Everyone that worked there were miserable and unhappy.yelling at the kids playing games to be quiet and giving me dirty looks because i was standing and reading the happy hour menu. Top it off they tried to over charge me during happy hour. This place is miserable unhappy and the food is rubber. Wont ever go back..dont mean to be rude about but i felt uncomfortable there. Just loved this place. Was a short walk from where we were staying. Great pizza, I wish the salad was bigger. But would definitely go back when Im in the area.
