I have had allot of really horrible experiences with extractions in the past and had much apprehension at my appointment. I called Monday morning and got into see Dr. Nijhawan the same day for a dental emergency. Much to my relief he was able to schedule me in for surgery the next morning. I needed two wisdom teeth removed, one top and one bottom both with decay. At the appointment for surgery I literally was looking around the room one minute and what felt a second later woke up with gauze in my mouth and fully able to function. When I went into my appointment I was in extreme pain that was maddening and when I left I was pain free and even now 7 hours later have nothing more than minor discomfort. Will update my review in a week after my follow up appointment but so far Dr. Nijhawan and his team get all 5 stars from me in every aspect of the experience taken in its entirety. I would highly recommend Mountain View Oral Surgery to anyone that has any oral surgery needs.

I am super pleased with Dr. Nijhawan and his staff for my wisdom teeth extractions. From the initial consultation where Dr. Nijhawan and I discussed possible outcomes due to my medical history and even small complication that were discussed during the initial consultation. Dr. Nijhawan was extremely professional and skilled oral surgeon and handled everything perfectly. Even with a busy day the day of my extraction, he was able to go see my fiancé and update her in person and answer any questions she had.His staff was also incredible, everyone from when you walk in to preparing you for consultation, procedures and follow up visits are always checking in on you and are extremely professional.I am extremely glad I chose this practice for my wisdom teeth extraction and I would 100% percent recommend it to anyone.

I went to Mountain View Oral Surgery for my 3 extractions (molars). Dr. Nijhawan did an amazing job! There was no pain or discomfort. He was very gentle and checked on me throughout the whole treatment. His team and Dental Assistants worked efficiently and were very sweet! I really recommend this dental practice! What a wonderful experience to find Dr. Sumit Nijhawans practice. He and his staff are kind, knowledgable and professional. I had dead ends everywhere until I discovered his office and the maxillofacial surgery he performs. I am so happy I did and this has been life changing. His demeanor was so reassuring that I was relaxed and comfortable during a very serious operation. I cannot speak more highly for him and his staff.

Dr. Nijhawan and his staff are honestly the best in the bay. I had no trouble when getting my wisdom teeth removed from his office. His office consistently checked in on me after my procedure. I experienced 0 problems with him during surgery and after surgery. He told me to feel free to call his office with any questions or concerns that I had. He is an amazing surgeon and has hired amazing staff at his location. I was honestly nervous of getting my wisdom teeth out, but after the procedure at his office I dont know what I was scared of. If you need anything regarding oral surgery, his office is the best to go to.

My dad was referred to this clinic to remove a damaged dental implant. We had a wonderful experience here! We were seen quickly and the surgery was scheduled with days. The office staff especially Sabrina was extremely helpful in getting us scheduled soon and keeping the schedule flexible until we got sign off from my dads dentist. Sabrina also helped make sure we understood the after care instructions and helped us to understand the financial terms as well. Dr. Sumit did a great job with the surgery as well and followed up with our dentist to ensure they were both on the same page as to the best treatment option. Dr. Sumit helped ensure we understood the after care instructions as well. We would recommend this clinic without hesitation.

Had my wisdom teeth plus a molar removed about 6 days ago, and it was my very first surgical procedure. So to say i was terrified is an understatement, but Dr.Sumit really made me feel at ease. I had all of my wisdom teeth extracted. Unfortunately, I’ve had to reschedule a couple of times but they were very professional and accommodating to my schedule. The day of my surgery, I arrived a little early and the team was very efficient in getting everything ready and they were able to get me in ahead of my appointment time and I was done in an hour. They made sure I was ready and safe and even escorted me to the car. They called the next day to check in to see how I was doing and provided answers and solutions to my questions and concerns.Greatly appreciate their professionalism and the level of care they provided.

Well, aside from me not really favoring needles (which is very necessary), I would highly recommend Dr. Sumit for any of your extraction (or any oral surgery) needs. Wonderful! My regular dentist referred me and I’m so glad he did to this office. I needed an extraction and an implant right away, and I was told to come right over. The office people are kind and courteous and took me in immediately. My entire experience with the extraction and the implant was very well done. The surgeon kept me apprised the entire time about what he was going to do, plus he gave me lots of breaks during the process. Definitely recommended!

General dentists referred us to Mountain View Oral Surgery to get my teens all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Over the phone I was able to get appointment in a weeks time compared to few months with few other doctors I tried. I was able to get consultation and procedure scheduled on consecutive days. Had filled all the details online - it is long list of forms to fill, either it is online or on paper, and one shouldnt mind filling these forms since the deal is about surgery, nevertheless - and showed up to the consulting session. Pano X-rays were done and senior doctor met us and explained the condition and what the procedure would be the next day. Showed up few minutes early on the day of procedure and we got going with out any delays. Later that day got a call from doctors office as follow up and clarified on questions that we had. Caring nurses and great front office staffs and excellent doctors. Place was clean and neat and well lit. The whole experience was a breeze.

Explained the process up front including billing etc. They do send timely reminders before the appointment slot so that any reschedules can be handled since I think they have long wait times.I had gone for a wisdom tooth extraction. Awesome staff and Awesome Dentist. When it comes to dental work, I am easily scared. And this was my first time to get bone graft and implant procedure - so I was terrified! The staff was really really (yes I meant to write it twice) nice and patient. Appointments are given and taken in on a timely basis. They always were able to give me appointment to suit my schedule, without pushing out weeks ahead. They always called me the day after my procedure to ensure everything was fine and if there was any pain. I dont remember any of my other service providers doing a follow up call and certainly none of my doctors. Above all, the procedures were pain-free (literally!) and very quick. Dr. Sohoni is extremely professional, explains everything very well. His staff supports him very well. This review is based on 3+ visits and I see a great pattern - hence I decided to write it up.

Amazing experience! Dr. Nijhawan and Dr. Sohoni were both fantastic, as were the rest of the team in the procedure room and in the office. They functioned as a well oiled team with state of the art machinery, tools, and materials.I came in with a broken jaw and was hoping I wouldn’t need to have it wired shut. They quickly completed a 3D scan which showed that the jaw was more broken that I had expected. Then were immediately able to wire my jaws shut so the mandible could set and heal properly.I was not familiar with that process beforehand, and I didn’t even realize how intense it would be until I realized an hour had gone by and they still weren’t done. They made me feel so comfortable and did such a great job managing potential pain and discomfort. They asked me if I needed to take breaks at certain points but they were making the process so painless I was happy to just keep going.Both of the Doctors participated in the procedure and it was clear they both had a wealth a skill, technique, and experience. They were all even able to keep the mood in the room light and relaxed. It was only after they showed me my face in the mirror that I realized how intense of a procedure they can completed.The evening of the procedure Dr. Sohoni reached out to see how I was doing so far and helped walk me to through some questions that had come up. The overall level of care they provided has me feeling very comfortable with my road to recovery. I feel like I can count on them to be there for me and guide me through the whole process.Breaking my jaw: 0/10Having it fixed at Mountain View Oral Surgery: 10/10

Dr Sohoni is an amazing Doctor beyond words, many years ago he treated my dad, he was wonderful I have heard about him from many of my friends. His hands has magic in them, I had 3 wisdom tooth removal surgery, 2 of them were sitting on the nerves, but after the surgery I had the normal pain of a tooth removal nothing beyond that.From walk in to walk out I was so at ease I have no memory of discomfort ( I was stressed before the surgery ) but I think I should not have been as was in such able hands!! I was referred to this business by my Dentist. I visited them for tooth extraction and bone grafting. The staff and Doctors were very courteous and nice with me. The procedure was completed in a short period. Its been 4 days since then and I am feeling fine and no issues. Dr. Nijhawan and his team are very nice. I went in with pain and was scheduled for surgery the next week. Before going to MTV Oral Surgery, I went to 2 other offices and was quoted thousands of dollars for my wisdom teeth extractions. Here, there front office staff found out that I was actually double covered with insurance and saved me a lot of money. I was definitely grateful to them for that and for the overall great experience. Although I wasn’t exactly excited that I needed surgery, I’m glad it was at the hands of Dr. Nijhawan and his assistant. They made me feel very comfortable and safe in their hands. I cannot thank the staff and the surgeons enough for the outstanding service they gave me. I thought I was only going to have a consultation regarding my matter, but it turned out more than that. I came here to get my wisdom teeth out. I had little to no swelling. The recovery was extremely fast. They pre-ordered all the medication I needed to take. I was really nervous going in, but the whole procedure was a blur. Dr. Sohoni was very very kind to me. Dr. Nijhawan was also extremely attentive and kind. I would highly recommend. During the pandemic they were short staffed, so the insurance bid took a bit longer than expected. Thats understandable due to the situation.

Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted recently. Dr. Sohonis work was amazing! I felt no pain during the procedure and the healing process was great. Cheeks did not swell up like others often do and did not need to use heavy pain killers post-op as pain was bearable. I visited Mountain view Oral surgery for my impacted wisdom teeth extraction. Ihad 2 wisdom tooth removal surgery, 1 of the teeth was sitting on the nerve. I was scared of wisdom teeth extraction prior to surgery, but after surgery, they made me feel it is not that complicated. A tooth implant is nasty, no way around that. Mountain View Oral Surgery made it as positive as they could. They were ready when I arrived, explained the process and post-procedure care. Everything was clean and COVID protocols were followed. They were professional and friendly and communicated clearly. The prescriptions were submitted immediately to my pharmacy. I felt calm and I trusted their competence. All around I can’t think of anything they could have done better.Oct 2021 update: Over the past year I’ve been back for subsequent checkups and phases. A post was implanted and later a riser added. Each time the doctor and staff have clearly explained what will be done and shown me before and after x-rays. COVID protocols have been followed and steps were mostly pain free. With such extensive work, there will be some discomfort, but it was reasonable. I definitely recommend them.

This guy is such a pro, I knew I was in good hands after talking to him for a few minutes - I had felt pretty helpless after putting off my impacted wisdom and molar tooth for several years until the pain became too great just the other day.. He had both of them out within 10 minutes with minimal wiggling and stitched up and ready to go within 30. Great staff they even let me pick an artist to play music for me while they did the work so we all went to Hawaii with some tiki bar music. Also my pain is gone, and I am really grateful.

The staff at the office are very helpful and patient. I was transitioning between insurance companies, and despite the mix up with the new company, they spent hours over various days on the phone to ensure everything was set up correctly. I had to have a tooth extraction, and Dr. Sohoni explained the process, provided me with options and answered all of my questions. The procedure itself was relatively quick and painless. I will add more to this review as the process will continue for the next 6-9 months before I can get my permanent implant. Im looking forward to the rest of the process being as seamless as the first few visits.1/27/20: update 6 months later. Today I returned to Dr. Sohoni’s office to get the implant surgery. Again, I was greeted with smiles from the ladies at the front desk. They explained my insurance coverage and reminded me of the details for the next steps after the implant is placed. They all seem to help each other and enjoy what they do. Once in the room, during prep, Dr. Sohoni’s assistants were engaging and reassuring and graciously answered all my questions. When Dr. Sohoni came in the room, he greeted me and provided expectations of what I would likely experience during the surgery. I experienced no pain, but there was a decent amount of pressure as the rod was being tightened which was uncomfortable but brief. The whole surgery took maybe 25-30minutes, and I was in and out in 45 minutes, with clear upcoming expectations (reiterated again by the front desk team, as they provided me with my prescriptions). Another excellent experience all things considered. I will need to return again in approx. 3 months after the bone is solidified around the implant to have the tooth attached.

I needed an emergency tooth extraction when my tooth cracked during a dental procedure. MVOS worked me within an hour for the extraction. The staff and the surgeon were kind and professional. They explained the process clearly. The surgeon gave me 3 option for long term issue of what to do with the hole. They explained pros/cons and costs of each option. I have always dismissed the idea of getting my wisdom teeth pulled. That’s mainly because I am traumatized even with the thought of sitting in a dentist chair. Two of my wisdom teeth were impacted and one was partially impacted. It had been going on for 4 years and this time even the pain meds wouldnt work. I had to get it done this time. I was referred to Dr. Sumit Nijhawan by a friend. Everything from setting up the appointment to the time i walked out was handled very professionally. This was probably the easiest dental visit Ive ever encountered. The staff was very friendly and receptive to my needs.I Came in on Friday morning freaked out, anxious and generally worried about the procedure.The front desk ladies were very nice in trying to calm me down. One of the nurses came in, took me into a room, where i watched a detailed video of the procedure. I knew exactly what was going to happen.I opted to receive general anesthesia given that three out of my four wisdom teeth were being extracted, so within about 10 seconds, I was passed out. The procedure was quick and I was out of the office within 40 min feeling numb and light headed. Dr. Sumit gave me clear instructions on what to eat and precautions to take for the following days. I even got a follow up call the next day to check on how I was doing.5 Stars for sure and I highly recommend Dr. Sumit. for any dental surgery...

I went to the office assuming, they are in my insurance network. However they quoted me charges which were exorbitantly high and when I enquired, they said they are not in my plan. I came back without getting the procedure done. I came home and checked insurance website, which showed Dr Sohoni is in fact in my plan. I called the office back and they told me, insurance says them otherwise. Well, I called the insurance myself and they also told me, doctor is not in the plan. Then I asked insurance, how am I supposed to know which doctor is in my plan and which one is not. The insurance rep checked further and found that the doctor is in fact in my plan.The next day morning, I called doctors office and told them the same thing. I requested them twice if they can call the insurance again but they wouldnt agree. They offered me 2 choices. One, they can get pre-authorization which would take 4-6 weeks. Knowing clearly that I have an urgent extraction needed, not sure why will they even offer this. Second choice was, I agree to pay whatever they ask for (~2.5 times the regular billing) and if insurance pays them as I am saying, theyll reimburse me. I dont understand how can someone ask a patient to pay randomly like this. All I wanted was, if they could call the insurance and confirm about my plan again and tell me appropriate pricing.I dont understand why does the office staff behave as if they are the super rich doctors themselves and couple hundreds of dollars here & there makes them no difference.In the end, doctor is losing a patient and patient is getting hassled.====Following up to the response below from the owner. I clearly requested the billing staff twice if they can call the insurance as I believed insurance would give correct information now.The exact closing reply from them was : I am not going to call the insurance the third time, if thats what you are asking.I was told, I have been given 2 options (either wait 4-6 weeks or pay upfront and get reimbursed later if insurance works).Sorry, you are not the only doctor in the Bay Area. I guess, your staff thinks, I am not the only patient either.

Dr. Nijhawan was excellent. He had great bedside manner, and was so thorough in explaining procedures and the healing process.I had suffered a broken jaw from an accident right before graduating grad school and going on an international grad trip. He went over two options for jaw closure to heal my jaw, and recommended the non-invasive, conservative method based on my fracture, which was jaws/teeth wired shut for 6 weeks followed by physical therapy. I was so upset that I wouldnt be able to go on my graduation trip, however Dr. Nijhawan reassured me that I would still be able to go. He was so thorough in explaining what all I would need for the trip. He signed doctors notes for liquid food for the plane, emergency wire cutters, and liquid pain medication.He also had to use local anesthesia to remove a piece of tooth that had gotten stuck in my lip from the accident, and reassured me of the healing process, and did his best to reduce scarring.At every follow up he was so involved and took his time asking about my weight/diet from the all liquid diet, and was so attentive for a busy surgeon. He even met me in the office on a Saturday evening to adjust the wires because they were cutting into my mouth.All procedures were successful, and healed up well. Overall very pleased with my experience with Dr. Nijhawan!
