Price is right. Staff friendly, including the housekeeper. Poop isn’t picked up by visitors even though there is a disposal area. There is a Grocery Outlet across the street. I had a room with a microwave and fridge so this worked out perfectly. Room a little worn but not a deal breaker as I travel with my chihuahuas and Motel6 is easier to stay at. There’s a bike/walking path behind building. Unless you have an Epic Pass for skiing and can afford a more upscale place, staying in SLT is expensive! Or just stay here because you’re budget conscious. You won’t be in your room much anyway! Pics are of Kirkwood Mtn… about 45 minutes away. Tip… plan on getting there an hour before they open the lifts. Parking is crazy!

Extremely cramped rooms - the two full size beds only fit by having one bed jammed up against the heater, and the other jammed against the bathroom wall. You have to climb over the other person to get out of bed. Heater and fridge were so loud I had to wear earplugs. Wish we had not stayed here. The only redeeming feature was the grocery outlet right across the highway.

General manager was rude. Not sure if she knows she’s in the hospitality industry in a touristy destination. However, Laura working the desk was amazing and accommodating. She checked to see if my room was ready, helped me fix my room key and was attentive to the pool area. Loved her customer service skills. Rooms were less than okay. Clean but not really. Dirty linen sat outside our room for our entire stay. You will need to purchase a box fan to be comfortable because the ac’s even set at 60 and high, do not work very well. That was the only thing that made the room doable. Pool area was kept fairly clean and was enjoyable. Water pressure in shower was nice and water temps were good as well. Location is great for checking out the area, but I believe this property is overpriced considering the amenities and overall experience.

Great place to stay spur of the moment Plus I like the pet friendly policy .The dude.behind the check-in desk could pass as one of the red hot chili pepper band members and mumble when he talks didn’t give me directions to the room but the nice housekeeper young lady, glasses in a ponytail went out of her wayto show me where to go. The room was all right. Other than the Fossett in the bathtub leaks had a little mold in the tub I guess the room wasn’t used in a while and some mold on the ceiling of the bathroom other than that Me and my wife and dog slept well! In the morning there’s a really great bike path in the back of the building to walk on.

Well, it is Motel 6, but for a Motel 6 budget lodging it is very good. It was the cheapest option for my weeks stay, nicely located right 8n downtown, walking distance to a variety of eateries, ample parking. Housekeeping was limited because of COVID, but I wouldnt blame them. The staff was extremely helpful with smiles and positive attitude. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who is not looking for honeymoon suites and personal butlers.

Its a Motel 6. Adjust your expectations accordingly! The Ritz Carlton it aint!If I could rate in half stars, Id say 3.5 stars.Pros:You get a decent place to lay your head for the night for a reasonable price, but no frills. The bed was clean and comfortable.It didnt smell.Staff was friendly.The manager allowed early check-in, which was appreciated.Rooms with microwave and fridge are available (they cost a little extra)Coin laundry and vending machines are available.Grocery Outlet directly across the street if you want to save on food costs or need to purchase sundries.Cons:The floor was in need of repair.A fair amount of road noise, but earphones took care of that.Very early on one of the two mornings we were there, it sounded like someone doing aerobics wearing army boots in the room above us.Bars of soap are provided, but no shampoo or conditioner. (I already knew this about Motel 6, so I brought my own. It is available in the vending machine, or you can buy some at the Grocery Outlet across the street)Towels are thin and scratchy. This hotel is way overpriced. When I’m staying at a Motel 6, I’m certainly not expecting the Ritz, but a tiny bottle of shampoo and conditioner would be nice. The cheapest room was over $200/night and came with no additional amenities. They even wanted you to pay extra for WiFi that, well, worked. I think this Motel 6 could easily spruce things up a bit.However, I will say all of the staff were very helpful and kind.If I were to stay in South Lake Tahoe again I would probably go with one of the independently owned motels.

The staff was nice and as helpful as they could be but the room was extremely expensive and had almost no amenities. I dont always expect a refrigerator or microwave but the room didnt have a coffee pot or even Kleenex. Also the only ice machine was two buildings over. Also not a lot of food options within walking distance. Again none of this would have mattered except the cost for the night was very high.

Best Motel 6 I have ever seen. Room was small but very clean and the bed was more comfortable then any high price resort in South Lake. Service was very friendly despite the extremely rude guest checking in ahead of us. Super easy to find and lots of parking. Great for anyone looking for an inexpensive, quiet place away from the noisy and crowded Casino area.

Very affordable very clean close to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed to rearrange the days that we were going to stay. I feel like Luke bent over backwards to help us and did not charge us anything extra. We really appreciate that. We will be coming back.

Motel 6 at a nice beautiful location. The downfall is the rooms smelled like bug spray, I had 2 rooms, well we decided to keep only one room. So I told the lady at the front desk at 9:45am and she sent housekeeper over to the other room to clean it. I had to explain to the house keeper that we still had the room until 11am. Please dont barge right in. Then the next day, we had to get a late checkout and the housekeeping comes walking right in doesnt knock.

This was the best Motel 6 experience Ive ever had. When we checked in with our dog, the person at the front desk was super nice and told us how we were allowed to bring our dog into the pool area if we wanted to swim (he couldnt go in the pool itself, but he could be inside the gate with us). Then we ended up needing to check out a day early, and they were so so kind about it. My husband woke up not feeling well, and around noon he took a covid test that turned out positive, so we decided to cut our vacation short and just go home. We thought we wouldnt be able to get a refund, but they were SO kind in arranging that for us, even though we didnt check out until about 12:45. We were very pleasantly surprised. All around, the staff was just so helpful and kind. The room was clean, and we appreciated the little dog relief lawn that they had along with poop bags and a trash can. The only downside is that the Wi-Fi was slow, but it was still manageable.

I had a good experience at this motel! They had comfy beds, and great working heater! The complaints I do have though, is that theres no microwave! And there were many dead bugs on the ceiling of the bathroom. The bathroom tub also didnt look trustworthy, it didnt look very clean. If they can work on cleaning a bit better and adding a microwave, Id give it a 5 stars. The people at the front desk were very friendly too!

The front desk people where unhelpful and seemed overall annoyed with there job. The rooms where gross and not well kept. I had a smoking room but there where no ashtrays and when I ask the front desk for one they handed me a paper plate to use. Probably the worst motel 6 Ive been too. And Im usually a fan of motel 6. I didnt have high expectations but I expected a decent room... We checked in this afternoon and I am absolutely dreading staying a few days...Room smells like cigarettes, door doesnt close all the way (seal isnt right), mattress doesnt have a mattress protector (just a thin sheet), sink has brown gunk all around it, toilet has a pee ring and the water is milky colored even after flushing, shower has a yellow ring and chucks missing out of it.We were okay with the small room size and happy there is no carpet. We did check for bed bugs and there isnt any but having a fiance familiar with hotel work he noticed things he doesnt want to tell me until after our stay. We wont be spending much time in the room, its just a place to lay our heads, but Im not convinced Ill last a full night.There was a gentleman sitting outside when we pulled up, he appeared homeless, he switched spots when we exited our rooms, hoping he isnt there when we return from dinner...We read all the reviews and just really hoped it would be better, our options were limited. Highly suggest asking in advance if they have one of the renovated rooms available we keep seeing mentioned, the room we got certainly isnt worth the $500 for 2 nights!Next morning: we stayed and we regretted it. Not only were we told we actually paid $300 for our stay last night after requesting a refund for our second night but that they did have better rooms available if we wanted to actually stay another night.AC unit was loud, you could hear the showers and toilets of the neighbors, motorcycles coming and going throughout the night, multiple car alarms went off. When we asked for 2 more pillows we did get what appeared to be 2 new pillows in plastic, they were considerably clean compared to the ones originally in our room.Upon leaving my finance showed me the concerns he had, blood on the walls, pillows, mattress... Mold in the bathroom, boogers on the wall.. This room definitely needs a good cleaning.Dont stay here with your children...

It was nice since they don’t have a dog fee, but the floors were coming up in our first room. Then we switched rooms due to our neighbors being extremely loud, and the second room bathroom light/fan was shorting, so it didn’t work. Also needs more outlets, the nearest outlet was in the sink area. Conveniently 10 minutes from downtown.

I would give it 2.5 stars. We had two rooms - one was newly renovated, nice and clean. The other one smelled like cigarettes, was dirty, and had absolutely disgusting bathroom. You have to be lucky to get the new room. It seems they are slowly renovating all of the rooms but there are still many to go.

Pretty terrible experience. Stayed here while in town for my cousins wedding. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms are super outdated and beds aren’t very comfortable.Also had a weird experience where I had to book two nights separately. I had to take my three kids with me to re check in after the wedding and the staff was terrible. I was harassed and threatened to not be given my keys. They said I owed for the room and I said I had already paid. Turns out he had cancelled my wedding group rate and charged me more. I thought I was being double charged and he didn’t seem to care and gave me serious attitude.Day staff was wonderful when I went to get it resolved. Manager was a bit defensive and said she heard I was difficult and didn’t seem to want to talk to me or help. Overall would never stay here again or any other motel 6. Do not recommend. Better to Airbnb or find almost any other option.

As typical, motel 6 are always stripped simple, which we like, all we do is lay our heads. We come for the location and to be out touring, hiking, biking, exploring etc. These days theyre always carpetless, thank goodness, keeps it clean. We need dog friendly and stay for free since we include our 4 legged family member on her favorite hikes. Normally we prefer camping and backpacking, but different weather calls for a slight above accommodations. If youre looking for amenities and lots of room to dance around, you may choose higher paid accommodations. Our rooms have always been able to accommodate 2 of us plus 4 legged plus 2 bikes with room to comfortably walk to the restroom without going bump in the night. We got the room facing the meadow which is opposite of the street, it was quiet! Also convenient to let the pup out. Except for the idiot that kept coming around 1am and revving his engine and honking and peeling out! We imagined a fight with his girl who wouldnt let him back in the room or maybe picking up his girlfriend after her shift, hopefully it was a one time issue! People can me so rude!

Typical motel 6 minimal and clean enough but the staff is great. I was able to extend and stay in the same room and after midnight when my neighbors were super loud I called and they took care of it right away. You can hear the traffic and the walls are thing between rooms so it’s probably not best for a light sleeper without ear plugs or white noise.

Good experience! Motel 6 is very cheap and gives you the necessities for your vacation, especially if you plan on being outdoors/away from the motel for the majority of your stay and need a place to rest your head and not break the bank. We stayed for three nights. Make sure you bring a cooler for food and drinks because the room we stayed in did not have a mini refrigerator or microwave. The room was clean and cozy; the only downfall was that the sink has very high water pressure when you turn it on so be careful not to splash yourself. The toilet seat did not stay up and you have to flush twice in order for it to work properly. Aside from these few issues, the room and service was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dont leave food in vehicles because bears are never too far away. Would stay again!

The best part was dogs stay free. Other than that this place was disgusting the bathroom had pink and black mildew from not bing properly cleaned. The tv kept loing signal. The bed was ok. The only tiny counter in bathroom was falling off so if you set anything on it would slide off. The parking lot had tint empty drug baggies. I was very disappointed in this Motel 6 i have stayed in older run down hotels but at least they were clean.

Our room was 201-directly above the office. The room was great, but as always with Tahoe, (and other lower cost rooms everywhere) we had to get disinfectant wipes and clean everything. The sink, tub etc were not clean-there were hairs in the tub-possibly from the sponge they used to clean, you could see where dried cream or toothpaste was still visible (in the light) on the bathroom counter, and there was a terrible smell in the toilet area and a strong bleach smell like someone had thrown up and they cleaned it up. We aired out the room and went out, it went away by the time we returned. (We think the smell actually came from the shower curtain, which was some kind of plastic with a very strong odor that sort of smelled like vomit, sadly. But it was not so strong after we aired out the room so who knows what went on before us!) Carpets and bedspreads were grimy looking too. But other than that we had a great experience and the room was very comfortable and beds were great! The staff was very nice, and we would definitely stay there again. For Motel 6s, the Tahoe one is one of my very favorite lower priced hotels. The pool is really lovely, (and now has a lift for disabled people to be able to swim, which is good) and they accommodated us when we asked not to have a connecting door. So appreciated. Pros: Location was great. It never took us more than 30 minutes to get to any of our destinations and food/grocery stores were nearby. All the female staff on property were very nice. The room smelled pleasant and looked clean when we arrived. The heated pool was nice.Cons: Rooms were small. There were two adults, a six year old, and a small dog in our party, and the room barely fit us and our stuff. Our air conditioner stopped working because the bed was right up against it. The maintenance man had to move the bed away from the a/c to reset it, and said to make sure the bed stayed away from the a/c which now made the room feel even smaller. There was a nice walking/bike path behind the hotel, but the mosquitoes were in abundance. They were even in the hotel room. We got bit up pretty good. We also had to ask for more towels and toilet paper and towels. We were there 4 nights and they did not clean our room once.

Though I have stayed at this Motel 6 several times in the past I was extremely unhappy with my recent stay. All I can say for it was that the room was clean. They have stripped out everything that would make a room homey and warm--no rug (just a bare floor; not great in cold weather), nothing on the walls, no clock, no kleenexes, no hair dryer, no amenities. It felt more like a cell and was depressing. I had paid for two nights but left after the first night. Couldnt bear the thought of staying in that room one more night.

I would say overall this is a good hotel. We had a good experience and were able to check in on time & parking was a breeze for having multiple cars. Our room was surprisingly pretty clean for the previous reviews I read. The front desk was as accommodating as one would expect, it was nice to be able to have fresh towels throughout our stay. I think this hotel is either a hit or a miss but it was a hit for us! If you are a light sleeper the sirens passing by the hotel may wake you up, we were able to drown it out with the AC being on the louder side. Overall, this is a good hotel but there are definitely better ones.

We always try to avoid staying here but also find it difficult to avoid as we need to visit a very nearby spot. Some Motel 6’s are nicer than others. This one is on the lower end of the scale and way more expensive than most — an unhappy combination.

The reservation process was easy, I was even permitted to move the date 1 day sooner, to the very next day. When I arrived the customer service was great. Nice person, helpful and engaging. When I finally got to my room I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room heater had been turned on in anticipation of my arrival, and since this was Lake Tahoe and the temp was to be in the mid 20s, it was a very thoughtful gesture. The room itself was spotless, and I was traveling with a pet which was permitted during my stay for no additional cost. Everything was great. I only had one problem and that was when I got into the bed I started itching all over my body. My head too my toes. I dont know if it was the detergent but my first thought was bed bugs. I hope not but I dont know. I left and havent had a problem since, do who knows. Otherwise, it was a great stay and I would stay again. Maybe in a different room next time though.

The hotel is honestly excellent for the price. The biggest downsides are that there is no fridge and you can hear the cars on the road, but you can’t complain about what you’re getting for the price you’re paying. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm, even in freezing temperatures. The staff were friendly and helpful and I felt safe walking around at night. The motel is close to Heavenly and the junction that splits off to the west side of the lake/the freeway towards Sacramento. A really great place to stay at if you’re on a budget.

The phone service, and people working in the lobby were very nice, but... When we arrived, our room wasnt ready - maintenance workers were drilling the numbers on the door. There was dust and hair everywhere. The sink was clogged and never fixed even though I requested it be fixed. There were smeared mosquitoes on the walls, and brown stains on the walls on the front curtain and in the bathroom.Housecleaning never came - we were there for 2 nights. I had to go to the front desk to request toilet paper. The room was a lot smaller than I anticipated, the beds were unusually uncomfortable, was over all not a good stay, I thought Motel 6s were a little better than this. And as an added bonus, the price was super inflated because of the golf tournament. I dont consider myself a high maintenance person, but not even the basic expectations were met. I not only would not stay here again, but would not recommend this motel 6 to anyone else.

Our stay was nice and comfortable at Motel6. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our room was clean when we arrived and we were so happy that our room was cleaned everyday. Unfortunately, our TV, which was one of those old TV (not Flat screen) did not work upon arrival, however, the maintenance guy was quick to exchange it for another old TV. The cable signal was horrible as the screen was fuzzy but oh well we came to enjoy the lake. Lastly, I would have given it a five stars but for the following I did not: the roads around the hotels had huge potholes, some of the staff had a sweaty smell, did not look professional, and one of them smell like alcohol.

Great stay! Everyone from the front desk staff, to maintenance to housekeeping had such positive attitudes! We were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed our stay and the people that work there definitely were a huge factor.My only drawback, which is a small one, was that the air freshener they use was overwhelming. We had to air the room out for a bit when we first got there. Other than that- they were great!

I like the fact that pets are welcome here with no extra fees. This is an awesome policy of Motel 6. I wish they have rooms for people who have pets but not smoking rooms. The smell of the smoking-room triggers my headache. We do not smoke. Thats the only downside. The overall experience was wonderful. Thank you for taking good care of us every time were in Tahoe. This was probably the worst hotel experience my family has had. At arrival after checking in we entered our room and encountered that the pillows were in disarray and had no pillow cases. After looking closely we noticed long strands of hair on the pillows. Now I know this hotel is pet friendly but the hair on the pillows was NOT dog hair. So we asked to be given another room. Front clerk explained to us that the new room being assigned to us still needed cleaning if we could wait 20 min. So we decided to kill time and head to a nearby store. We come back 30 min later and new room assigned to us hadn’t even been touched. Finally they give us another room which was ready. So upon entering the room I was highly disappointed. Room is filthy. Possible blood on the curtains.Crumbs of food and who nows what in between the beds and the walls. AC unit was broken and not cooling properly. Luckily temps were low at night so we were able to stay comfortable at night. I know we weren’t getting a 5 star motel but no matter what price you pay cleanliness should be something that is expected. They state they provide coffee in the mornings in the office, but none was available. Coffee containers were empty. Staff genuinely seems not to care. There were other families requesting refunds and encountering the same issues at check in, rooms were dirty or not ready. So there seems to be a big issue at this Motel. We noticed Amanda, possibly a district manager, talking to the staff and stating that what was going on was not acceptable. This property is very centrally located and the views across the street are beautiful but there is nothing else this property provides. Hopefully the staff start taking notice and make the necessary improvements. Hotel has potential but for the time being I will not be staying here again.

I had read some fairly negative reviews before I made a reservation, but believing that many reviewers are too picky, I ignored them. But I did find my room less than satisfactory. The toilet paper roll was on the back of the toilet tank lid and gotten fairly damp. I placed it into the toilet paper holder-roller, hoping it would dry overnight. (There was no other roll of toilet paper in the room. And the one there was still a little damp by morning). The bedspread when I turned down the blankets for bed, was dirty with a crusty-looking spot on the underside which I chose not to examine too closely. A wastebasket in the bathroom still had a bunch of trash in it ---not mine. The bathroom sink did not appear too clean, nor the tiled floor around it. There was no room coffee maker, nor shampoo. In general, the decor of the room appeared to be less than inviting as well as outdated. Without changes, I would choose to stay elsewhere even if it cost me more.

Property needs attention, but room was satisfactory. It could have been cleaner and a flat screen TV would have been nice, but the micro/frig combo was larger than many others, the shower was great and rooms at the back are rather quiet. The beds creaked every time you turned over, or try to get up quietly in the night, but the off season price makes it a true bargain!!!!!!

I called and specifically asked for an early checkin to which they said no problem if a room is available. They checked me in, gave me a room that hadnt been cleaned. They refused to send someone to clean it and instead made me re-check in at 3pm. Don’t waste your money here. Spend 20 bucks more and go to an actual hotel. On top of this, there is shattered glass all over the ground of the parking lot and side walk. My dog nearly cut his paw. The grossness and inconvenience of this place is not worth it. Guess I should have called that one, I mean it is a motel 6.

I give this a 5 because it’s exactly what you’d expect for the price. Best prices with no pet fees and a max of 2 pets. They remodeled the rooms a few years back so the rooms are generally nice. Due to CoVId they only rent out about half the hotel I think. Beds are decent, rooms are always clean and stocked. I have stayed here many times over the decade and the experience is always constant for me. I wish the pool had been open but that isn’t their fault. Staff has always been friendly but haven’t had many issues to have an in depth exchange with them. Location is a bit far from downtown but that also means it closer to many trails.

Room was infested with bed bugs. The next day I had over 50 bites from head to toe. When I called to report this and ask for an update, Cameron, at the front desk was quick to tell me that they don’t issue refunds for bed bugs and see it as a “understood risk” of travel. This room and the area of the hotel clearly had a major infestation and had not been treated in a very long time. Google “Bed bugs Motel 6 Tahoe.” Now I have to pre-empetively spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars treating my home because the likelihood that I brought bed bugs home in my luggage is very high. I didn’t ask for a refund initially but that is the very least they could do. I will be consulting legal council on this.

We paid $53 for the room with a dog. The Motel 6 site was cheaper than Travelocity. Great deal! The rooms are clean and updated with new flooring. The bed was comfortable and the shower had a ton of pressure. There is a bike path directly behind the hotel we walked the dog on. We didnt use the pool, but it looked extremely inviting and clean. We will definitely stay here again! Best bargain in town!!!

You get what you pay for. We didnt pay no extra fees for our dogs which was great. However the mirror had been torn and no door to the bathroom. The shower had a leak and the T.V was not connected properly. Bring your own towels and sheets. The covers on one of the beds were stained and I assume you have to ask for towels. We just ended up buying our own. Not once they took the trash out, we had to do it ourselves and they never changed the sheets. I assume you also have to ask for that service. Coming from a city that provides the best of the best to its visitors this was not how I expected my hotel stay to be.

Stayed there twice last month, both times the rooms were filthy, the toilets were dirty, the floors unclean. One room even had drug waste in it. It appears they are saving money by not cleaning the rooms. They tried to check us into a non smoking room that had burn marks all over the room. All the rooms seem to have the same issue. Everything in the room is at least thirty years old. It appears they have never replaced anything in the room since they opened. You can barely see the rug from all the dirt build up and the bathroom floor looked like it hadnt been clean in months.I was very disappointed as I expected a little more from Motel 6. Okay, I wasnt expecting a lot more, but a clean room for a cheap price was my basic expectation and they failed that.Will never stay at another Motel 6 again after this experience. I arrived at 1 p.m. and was told I could not check in because the rooms had not been made up. So I left my telephone no. for them to call me when the room was ready. I waited until 4 pm and no call so I called them and they said a room was ready. When I got there they told me the reason they didnt call is they got too busy after that. I would have liked to use the pool that afternoon but when we got in it was too cool outside. So we wasted 3 hours of our trip waiting for the room to be cleaned up but it wasnt really ready because of the following problems:Then we went to our room only to find that there was a big greasy mark on the carpet right by the bed that had not been cleaned. And there was grease on the desk that I wiped off with a wash cloth. The fan in the bathroom was so noisy it woke up the neighbors when I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I told the guy at the desk and he said he would take care of it. But the greasy spot was still there the next night and the fan was still loud.We have been coming here for the past 10 years and I think it is time to make a change. Because it is the same problem each time we go. The rooms are not cleaned or maintained properly and nothing gets done until we complain and then it is too little too late.

Its a Motel 6, clearly a budget friendly choice. There was an issue with my door opening repeatedly throughout the night, I engaged the latch inside after the third time it popped open. Late checkouts are also limited to 11:30, but again- this is a budget chain. That being said, staff were very friendly and helpful, I was a walk-in and had no problem getting a room, the woman at the front desk was absolutely charming as well. Ive stayed in Motel 6 many times and always found the rooms to be clean and nicely decorated. Microwave and fridge in the room is great. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. I love that I can bring my dog along! This is one of the main reasons I always stay at Motel 6, so thanks for allowing pets.Now the problems:1. Wifi NEVER works, and this visit I finally stopped paying for it. The office staff didnt seem to know anything about it and its impossible to use the my cell phone in the room. Any time I had to make a call or check my email I had to walk outside to do it.2. TV is sketchy - poor picture, few stations. Im not a big TV watcher, so its not a big problem.3. The biggest problem for me was the many people who smoked outside the rooms, sometimes standing right next to my door, so when I walked outside I was often greeted by a cloud of cigarette smoke. How about a couple of designated smoking areas, arranged away from the rooms, so that non-smoking guests can avoid all that second-hand smoke?4. This time the office was very understaffed, resulting in chaotic check in for many people (including me) who arrived at 3pm. Staff was nice and as helpful as they could be, but they were overwhelmed and some people had to wait a long time for their rooms. Easily fixed - hire more staff!

I got a room for a great price considering the location. However, if youre light sleeper like me, you should be prepared with ear plugs since the walls and windows are kind of thin. A decent motel is a clean place for a good nights rest. By that measure, Motel 6 South Lake Tahoe is: a place.The bed sheets were not clean. There was black hair, possibly from a dog on the sheets and pillow cases. The fitted top sheet was stained. The bedding did not smell fresh and all looked many years old. The front desk staff did not have fresh linens for replacement. He only had a fitted sheet and one pillow case and neither appeared recently washed. He offered to move us to another but I did not anticipate it would be any better. It was late, very cold and the only other rooms were on the far side of the motel complex. By then I didnt even care about the toilet seat that refused to stay up and had to be hand braced. I cared even less about what appeared to be dried blood spots in the shower. I wasnt going to use it. I will not be staying at Motel 6 South Lake Tahoe again and likely avoid Motel 6 locations from now on.

Our check-in time was at 3pm. We arrived to no clean rooms matching our needs and were asked to come back at 5pm. The hotel had a pool, but we were quickly running out of time to use it. The room was NOT ready at 5, and we were asked to go and return again in half an hour... I was not happy. We did get our room around 6pm, too cool to get into the pool by then, not to mention it was full of loud, parentless kids... without manners. No thank you! Above our room was two guys who looked so scary. They kept talking to me as I unpacked the car, and were openly doing drugs from a glass pipe on the balcony above our room. I started to cry around 9 and came close to driving 4 hours home to Oakland, where I feel safe. I will never stay here again, or any Motel 6 as long as I live. So sad I chose this to save money. My safety and quality of life is worth so much more than saving $50 over a 5 star resort closer to the Lake!!!!

Everyday I had to go get my key re-scanned so I could get into my room, my pillow smelled so badly of cigarettes, the bathtub did not drain, and the employees were rude. I went to the front desk to ask if I could get 2 clean towels because my room was not cleaned & the woman at the front desk was very rude. Oh my word. My first and last experience with any Motel 6. We had a reservation for a double bed on August 3rd. When we got there, the front office person said that a bunch of rooms were available for double beds but wasnt sure WHICH WERE CLEAN. Huh? Isnt it your responsibility to know and make sure ahead of time which rooms were cleaned even though you are short staffed on cleaners? He wrote down 5 rooms on a sheet of paper. Then had to manually GO CHECK each room to make sure they were cleaned. After 5-10 minutes he regretfully informed us that none of the rooms were cleaned and proceeded to research and look for another set of 5 rooms in which he had to repeat the entire process over again. He finally gave us a room but as we started to unsettle we noticed the air conditioner didnt work. It was summer in Tahoe so the room was HOT. I had to ask for another room in which case he had to go and check AGAIN to see which room was cleaned. He found one. By the time I actually started to unpack my stuff it took AN HOUR AND TEN MINUTES just to check in. To make things even WORSE, one hotel key room didnt work the first OR the second time we asked for it to be changed. To make things even WORS-ER (is that a word?) there is NO FREAKING SHAMPOO in this place. Which motel does not offer shampoo and how can you be SO cheap as to not have shampoo?!?! Straight-faced the front desk person was like this is how we have the lowest prices around. 1) You dont have the lowest prices around 2) even the cheaper places have shampoo. To make things WORSE-ER-ER (definitely not a word) there is no hot water heater/coffee maker thingamahjig so in order to get hot water you have to walk to the lobby where he gives you two small pixie cups of hot water. UGH! Motel 6...never again. So disappointed.

The room was tiny but clean. The best part was the huge tub....by far the biggest standard tub Ive seen in a motel room. I thought it was odd that there was no hand towel holder and no toilet seat cover.There was ample dog walking areas, although there was lots of piles seemingly from one dog in the closest grass area.They dont allow early check in, and when I came back later that evening, I had to choose between upstairs non smoking or downstairs smoking, (I requested a downstairs non smoking room). Also, since this is during Covid, they asked me about my out of state license the SECOND time I went to check in, not the first time. So if they were going to deny me a room, seems like it would be better to mention it at 1 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. But I just explained that my boyfriend is an essential worker and it wasnt an issue.There was no electrical outlet next to the bed and the cable went out when it snowed. The remote was taped up and barely worked (had to push the button hard and multiple times to get it to register).**Dont forget to tip your housekeeper!!**

We did a road trip from CO to CA and back and stayed at a number of different Motel 6s. This was by far the best one we stayed at - the staff was extremely friendly and the room was spotless and smelled great! Even though they were slammed with check-ins when we arrived the staff was courteous and positive. When we were leaving near the check out time, the staff came back around to check the rooms and was answering questions our neighbor had about where to get a good lunch in town. Would choose this Motel 6 again over higher star hotels in the area.

Well, it’s a motel... and a Motel 6 at that... but it’s better than your average motel, or Motel 6. The rooms nave been recently remodeled with hardwood floors, which I liked. There were plenty of lights and electrical outlets and the room was very clean, as far as I could tell.So the bad, the walls/floors are thin. The person above me was walking around a lot for some reason. My room was near the office, so there was lots of foot traffic and you could hear everyone walking by and talking. There’s also some road noises especially from big trucks and heavy equipment removing the snow. Turn on the TV or some music and it’s not so bad. All of this would’ve been the same at almost any other motel in the area, if not worse.I arrived during a fairly big snowstorm so the parking lot was a bit of a mess. But it was being cleared by the morning; efficiently and professionally.The attendant checking me in was patient and helpful. There was an issue with my reservation (made through a third party website), but they were able to work around the issue and eventually resolve it.And you really can’t beat the value. I rated 3 stars, but would’ve given an extra half star if I could. I’m sure I’ll stay here again in the future.

Well first off I would like to mention that I paid for a room with a microwave and a refrigerator but was not provided one of either. Luckily it was freezing outside so anything you needed to be kept cold was left in the car. However, it would have been nice to get a discount to compensate for the lack of amenities I already paid for. Secondly I booked a non-smoking room but somehow ended up with a bed sheet that had a hole burned in it. Im assuming thats after the wash and mixing two different rooms sheets. Overall as usual the room was clean and the customer service was good. The TVs however are quite outdated to put it nicely and transmission is fuzzy somehow even with a cable provider. I would likely stay again due to the decent prices and the fact that I am not charged extra for my pup. And what else can you say about the location of other than amazing. To be able to stay near Downtown Southlake during a peak season storm on such short notice for a affordable rate is awesome and I thank Motel 6 for this. The reason Im giving it 4 stars is lets face it its a Motel 6 so what can you really expect.

The motel location is great. It is close to the lake and to ski resorts. The parking around it is perfect, and cleaning the fresh snow in the morning amazing - no need to dig your car out!The room and bathroom were clean and their size was good. Bed was good. The rooms lack power plugs close to bed, so you need either a long cable or sit by the bathroom door. Also a refrigerator will have helped although in winter, you can leave food in the car overnight. We reserved with emphasis that we needed a ground floor room for three nights due to bad knees. We said wed arrive late. told no problem, a ground floor room would be held for us (both seniors). Also reserved a room with a fridge/microwave.Arrived. Only a second floor available. We were charged for the fridge that was not provided. Had to switch to a ground floor the next morning. We paid $175 ish for the third night and close to $400 overall. Thought those kinds of fees would guarantee good service.We have stayed at his Motel 6 many times. When I arrived the couple in front of me informed the clerk that their door to their room was open and the bed was a mess and had been slept in. He apologized and gave them a different room. I had asked for a queen bed and got two beds. That was no problem. But we had no towels or supplies. So I had to go back to the desk and get them. We like this Motel 6, due to its excellent location and decent management. We have stayed there before and will probably stay there again. We booked our room to attend a wedding. If it had not been for the wedding, we would have canceled it because there was hazardous wildfire smoke in the area. We paid the peak-season rate that we had booked before the wildfire smoke make any peak-season outdoor activities impossible. The motel did not offer to reduce our room rate, although anyone booking the same room that day would not have been charged peak-season rate, according to hotel apps we checked. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of my room.I actually had two rooms during my stay because I had to switch rooms when the upstairs guests cigarette smoke filled my bathroom son bad I couldnt breath. The exhaust fan was disconnected from the wall and therefore did not work, making the smell even worse.Both rooms were filthy. There was dust and bugs all over the floor and light fixtures. There were stains on the walls and one large stain appeared to be blood. The shower floor was dirty and the sides along the enclosure were covered with mildew. I worked for Hyatt Hotels for 15 years so I am very aware of hotel procedures. The phone reservation was made quickly and efficiently. Fastest check in I have ever had at a hotel and the desk staff was nice. The carpet had a big stain on it when you walked in and the room smelled like bleach but other than that it had what we needed the most, a bed and a bathroom.Unfortunately, an hour after we checked out I remembered I had taken off 2 rings (one three heart temporary wedding ring and one sapphire ring that I have had for 30 years) and dropped them on the floor next to the bed near my glasses. We drove back to the property and the room had been cleaned and my rings were gone. The front desk radioed the house cleaner and he said nothing had been found. A bearded maintenance worker with a heavy smell of alcohol opened the room and I checked myself too and they were gone. The comment by the lady at the desk was that the housekeeper was honest and I responded that people usually are unless given opportunity. Of course, it was my fault but It was disappointing that they were not turned in and turned a nice weekend in Tahoe sour.

Upon arrival the room was extremely dirty and could not be cleaned until the next day. Dog hair was clearly all over the entry floor. This was concerning because Joe has asthma and was very scared he would unnecessarily have an attack staying in the room. Slept with window open all night and nose near window. It was too late to book somewhere else. We simply expected a clean room. The floors were dirty and it took five mop cloths to get the dirt out. Bed tops were dirty. The keys to the room never worked the first three days and we constantly had to get these updated at the front desk. The one man at the front desk insulted me when I got my card encoded. He said something to the effect of it is not a big thing to be upset about or not the end of the world, there are greater things in life to be upset about and what was my problem. It reminded me that perhaps city folks like me have normal but not high expectations for things to work right like the door to open and a clean room. So you know, Joe was talking to a traveler in town and she said they were staying at the worst possible place in Lake Tahoe the dog house (Motel 6). Joe was too embarrassed to say we also were staying there. We joked we were at the dog house. I spoke to a corporate gentleman in the office while getting my key coded. The walkways were filthy. There was an old pile of bird droppings on the ground at the base of a pole on the walkway near the top of the stairs. The trashcans were overflowing, many, many beer bottles. There were people just hanging around as though they lived there. The management was nice and the staff was polite. The overall feel was that of an SRO straight out of San Francisco. There were two big spiders and a leaking sink in on of the rooms. Old food crumbs on the floor, a leaking sink, and two big spiders in one of the rooms. The towels are thin and small (to make it easy to wash/dry), the sheets and toilet paper are on the rough side (to keep things affordable), but all the basics are covered and clean enough. It did not get fixed and the room was freezing cold, 20 degrees outside. Next day they gave me a new room, and I asked for a refund of previous night. The woman at the counter said they could only refund my cost for the second night, which was a cheaper rate. I would not have stayed here another night if I didnt get a refund. One week later, refund still does not show on my card, so I called again. Now they are saying they will not refund me at all, even though last week they said they would. For the price range of this Motel 6 in this area, it was good. Bed was firm enough for me and bathroom was very clean. Carpet was stained badly, but vacuumed (please replace carpet with hard flooring like many other Motel 6 have done). Staff was exceptionally friendly. The worst overnight stay ever. The room, bedding, shower curtain, everything reeked so bad of old cigarette smoke that we could barely stand it. Couldnt use the air conditioning because it also smelled horrible so had to leave the window open so we could breathe. We were then kept awake all night by long stay construction workers that were drinking and partying all night below us and in the parking lot. Police had to eventually come because they were burning donuts in the parking lot around everyones vehicles while they were drunk. It was obvious that the people who cleaned our room did not try to clean it. When we got to our room, it was obvious a dog had stayed in the room before us. There was dog hair all over the floor. We called the office, and they sent the maid to come and sweep and mop, so that helped. However, about an hour later, we pulled back the covers to one of the beds, and there was dog hair all over the blanket and sheets. It was obvious the bed had not been changed since the dog had stayed there. We had to call again, and the office sent someone to change the bedding to both beds. I slept in my favorite room two nights ago. I slept like a baby. The little secret: the city ordinance of South Lake Tahoe strictly reduces light pollution. There are virtually no street lights on the adjacent US Highway 50. Everything, including the property, goes completely dark at night (outside, of course).If you want a truly complete privacy to surround a romantic encounter, ask for a room on the second floor. It will eliminate ground-level passers-by who may accidentally peek through your window.I hope the newly-restructured property will also adjust their off-season rates to better match the surrounding competition (the competition rates start at $45 in September 2022; and it used to be under $40/day during the COVID19 pandemic in September through May at this Motel 6, now it is double that for off-season) and better enable longer work-ation stays for those who work remotely in their hotel room.

It’s a basic motel with very basic amenities even though we paid extra for a “premium” to that includes a mini fridge and microwave (which both should be standard!). We only chose this place because we brought my dog along during this trip and the only plus was that they do not charge a pet fee. Motel is located right next to the main road and gets very noisy even in the late evening/night, would not recommend for light sleepers. The carpet in our room had a sticky area which was quite unpleasant to step on so we had to put a towel on the floor to avoid it. My family and I usually go to Lake Tahoe, both summer and winter, and this was our worst stay. The room is very small (we were in 4) and everything very simple, the air conditioner is very next to the bed (no space between) and very noisy. The room has no microwave, no fridge, no hair dryer (I used the air conditioning to dry my hair), nor do they provide shampoo and conditioner. When questioning the front desk, they told me they have it in the Grocery Outlet that is at the front. When using the microwave that has on the front desk, it stank of weed and was very dirty. We could not sleep at night due to the noise of the air conditioning, which if turned off would be cold because there were o only few blankets. We stayed 2 days, and upon returning to the room on the second day, I discovered that there is no room service, neither the towels were changed nor the beds tidy. The staff had excellent customer service skills, both, on the phone and in person at the desk. I needed a early check-in and they instructed me how I could increase the odds in making this possible. When arriving at motel I found Breanna at the desk. She was extremely nice and made sure that my friend, our dogs, and I got the room we were needing. I have stayed at this motel several times in the past,, it has always been a pleasant experience.

The staff was wonderful. The only thing I would suggest is not putting shorter beds in the rooms. Both my husband and my son did not fit fully on the bed and their feet hung over the edge of the bed. I also noticed the beds are listed as queen in the room we were in but the bed was actually a full size bed. Other than that it was great.

Ive stayed at a number of different Motel 6s and this one was disappointing. The room we checked in to had dirty towels hanging over the shower in the bathroom when we arrived and the floor was dirty. Also, there were no Do not disturb signs so I asked to be put on the Do not disturb list. We came back from our day out and found that a housekeeper had been in our room. If the do not disturb list isnt going to be paid attention to, signs need to be provided for the rooms.

The room was dirty, had mold in the shower, the shower was so clogged my husband had to remove all the hair and plunge it himself so we could take a shower without standing in water, the toilet did not work, the staff was not helpful, and when we asked for there to be no maid service for the day, they came into our room anyways. The bed stunk, the floors were so dirty our feet were black, and the bed was so uncomfortable with little blankets and terrible pillows. This was our second attempt at trying a Motel 6 after a terrible experience at the last one, and it was just as bad if not worse.

After staying in one of their rooms 2 times now I can barely breathe because of the mold in the shower that is black and coming through the paint. The bathroom floors were not even cleaned and I found hairs in the bed. My son and I both are experiencing wheezing and sinus and skin irritations. When I mentioned it to the overly phony manager, she told me I wasnt able to return to the hotel and blamed it on the 30 minutes past checkout that I was and slammed the door and stomped off.Unless you want to have respiratory problems, skin irritation and waste your day at the ER because you cant breathe I would steer clear from Motel 6 in south lake tahoe.

OUTSTANDING!!! I was a little apprehensive about staying at a Motel 6. Ive never been to one and the reputation is not good. I was visiting South Lake for the day and my daughter suggested I stay the evening. First, Amanda is amazing! She gave me options for rooms, at first I wanted a room close to the pool then I mentioned the storm over the mountains and she suggested a different room with a view of the Mountains. The room was so clean, smelled good, had a bath tub and wood floors. She called to make sure everything was ok. While in the lobby I had the opportunity to watch Amanda interact with other guests. She wore me out! Her energy is limitless. Phone, questions from guests in the lobby, calling guests to be sure their room was right, explaining the wifi, morning coffee and dealing with staff.I can tell you that the next time I decide to spend the night in South Lake Tahoe, this Motel 6 will be my first choice.Amanda set the tone of my stay and I was not disappointed.

The rooms my friend Lynne Engelbert and I stayed in (102 and 103) were filthy. The bathtubs had hair in them, the floors were filthy and the air-conditioner had so much debris (food, dirt and heaven only knows what) in it that I couldnt turn it on and have air blow over that filth and into the room.I did talk to the clerk about it and we were given a full refund ... she didnt even want to look at it. This tells me that she had some knowledge of the state of the rooms. We stay at Motel 6s all over the country and this was absolutely THE WORST.I am so disappointed in Motel 6. First of all the front desk clerk did not know how to use the new machine for checking in guests. He even asked me to help him and I tried. It did work, but it took about 30 minutes to get me checked in. He claimed no one trained him how to use it. This seems ridiculous that you would put a guest through that experience. Then, I looked at my account and I have two identical charges for that nights stay. That guy obviously did not do it right. I was getting ready to contact my bank about that. Also, when I first came in the guy was not very friendly. It could of been because he was in a bad mood. He also reeked of marijuana. Very bad impression. Next, my room was filthy with hair all over the sink and in the bathtub.That was plain nasty! There were coffee spots on the tables, so it was obvious that no one really cleaned. Since I couldnt be sure, I lay something on the bed in case the sheets werent wash. I decided not to call since the guy was rude, high and helpless. I have to admin this was one of my worst nights staying at a hotel. Never again!!!

We came to check in at Motel 6 at 6:30 pm, well after the published check out time on the website. We were informed that there was no available room for us, but that if we could wait an hour or so, housecleaning would get a room cleaned and we would be able to occupy the room. We were nice and polite to the woman at the front desk, the day had clearly been a hard one. We went to get dinner and returned to the Motel at 9pm. We were given the keys to a room, went to go to bed after a long day of travel and fun and.... THE ROOM HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. There was old food, unmade bed, trash everywhere. We went back to the front desk to let the attendant know that the room we had been assigned was not ready for us. By this time it is 9:20 pm. After much hemming and hawing she assigns us to a different room. We are still very polite and nice. We ask for a discount since we have not been able to get a room and at this point is it 9:30(!!!). This means we were unable to occupy the room for 25% of the time we paid for, between check in and check out. She tells us the room has already been discounted (because the TVs were out, which is an entirely different issue) so she cannot offer us a discount. She has upgraded us though to a room with a microwave and mini fridge. Well we dont need a microwave OR mini fridge, as it is 9:30pm and we will be leaving very early the next morning to continue our vacation. This is not a meaningful upgrade, especially considering the only real reason we were given this room is that it was the only room still available and clean. We went to our room and there was only ONE towel in the room. We called the front desk and they told us they couldnt bring us more towels because they didnt have the staff, so at 9:50 pm we had to trek back, yet again, to the front desk and get towels for our room. This was a truly unsatisfactory experience. I will not be staying at Motel 6 in the future, and I will be informing all of my friends and relatives to do the same.

I had to wait over am hour for my room. Although I was given 10% off I still feel like I shouldve been given a little more then that. My neighbors kept both my kids and I up half the night with banging on the walks which was disgusting for my kids to hear. The room had hair everywhere and the floors were dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The lady that gave me the 10% of was a sweetheart but the lady that was there in the morning when I checked out was not as friendly. Beware, Youve got the last room available.After late evening meetings we decided to find a motel for our last night in Lake Tahoe rather than to drive home. I called Motel 6 and got the last room with two beds, but when I arrived about 9:30 p.m., through a computer glitch, the room was not available because it had been reserved a month earlier for someone else! We waited until 10:00 p.m. and the room was finally mine. Because of the stress and uncertainty, I did not ask the price, and was I surprised when, even after the AARP discount, the charge was still $124.Pleasant surprise followed. The room was large, had a microwave and refrigerator. The tub is deep and the entire space was clean. Beds are semi-firm and the pillows soft. We had a good nights sleep and left just in time to get a cup of fresh coffee.

The room smelled like cigarettes even though I out in my reservation comments a non smoking room. The bathroom was full of water all over the floor and the tub was 3 inches full of water. The room was not cleaned before we arrived l, had it been cleaned they would have mopped the bathroom floor and emptied our the tub.Then we see the cleaning ladies and realize why it smells like cigarettes they are smoking our side the rooms!We stayed 2 nights and got 2 rooms adjacent to each other. The room with the double beds was not cleaned the next day but the room with the single bed was. We had to go ask for toilet paper. Good for price, but rooms were on the smaller side and outdated. They were even using a tube TV and some of the channels didnt work. There was towel and bed sheet service daily, but they didnt clean the rest of the room/bathroom. One night there was a dog barking for a couple hours in the adjacent room, which was real annoying, although they offered us a new room. The location is near some restaurants and bars, but not walking distance to the main part of town.

The room, was handicapped accessible, but the towel rack fell off when we tried to use it, so we didnt trust the shower bars would hold. We needed a fridge and microwave, but there wasnt any. When I told the manager Amanda we needed this, she said there werent any available, and said we could check out if we didnt like it. Actually we tried to book one more night (Sunday) but were told there was an incident and we could not. We had to scramble to get something else and to get there on a bus which was luckily running on the sunday. The bed was alright, but the floor slippery, the sink clogged when we got there, and there was no where to put clothes or hang jackets. I didnt like Motel 6 20 years ago and hoped it had improved. Then, nobody even came to change the towels or dump the trash and floor stayed dirty. In our last night somebody took the valve caps and lowered the pressure in our rental car tires. When we first arrived they were unable to tell us when or if a room downstairs was available. We ended up taking an upstairs room for sake of ease. Part of the railing right outside our room was rotting and coming away from the building. A small child could have slipped through and fell to the ground if parents were not attentive, front desk didnt seem to care when I alerted them. Only 1 towel in room when we arrived. My fiance booked this last minute because we decided we didnt want to drive back to San Jose after hiking Pyramid Peak (11ish miles). I knew it would be two star quality and it didnt disappoint!The dirty-ish carpet I was fine with. We were dirty ourselves from the hike! The shower was spotless and washed off our dirt with great pressure and hot temps.Speaking of hot, it was a hot day, and the little AC unit in the room didnt work well. It was like a cool fan that was only effective if you were in direct contact with it. So to get some cool air in the room, I opened the window sometime around midnight. All was good. Then people started smoking and talking right outside our room 🧐 the room filled with smoke. I waited it out though so as to not trap the smoke in our room and eventually closed it when they went back inside.Still super hot, I resorted to wetting a hand towel, wringing it out, and sleeping with it on top of me.Got a few hours of sleep and it was great. The bed was fine. I checked the sheets before bed and all looked good! However...when I woke up there were little red pieces all around where Id slept...and what looked like a red spider body!!! I am guessing it was in the towel I used for cooling off, and I mutilated it to bits by accident? SO disturbing.Anyway, maybe bring a sleeping bag and come in the winter?

Motel 6 has accommodated me every time I have showed up after 2 AM and also a few nights past the check in time. Luke the front desk hospitality worker, has been here for my last three times I stayed here. He has done nothing but make my stay very nice. I showed up too late for check in, he said I cannot check in due to how the computer system works. I told him it’s ok I can just go sleep in my car for a few hours. He said give him a few minutes to see if he can accommodate me. Luke did not want me sleeping in my car because it was freezing outside. Everything worked out I got to stay in a room and also paid for an extra night because of him 🙏

I booked a room here to have one last night in a bad before I started hiking the Tahoe rim Trail. After arriving at 6 PM ready to relax all of the available rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. The girl at the front desk assured me that they were non-smoking rooms, but as soon as I walked in the cigarette smell hit me even with my mask still over my face. She was nice enough to refund my money without arguing but then I was stuck scrambling to find another place to stay last minute at the end of a holiday weekend.

There were no amenities. If we needed or wanted any, we had to go to the front desk. We did not need any but if I had, it was inconvenient. The room was also not clean. We were in a non smoking room, but I found a cigarette butt under my bed. And the floor under the bed was disgusting! My dog found something under the bed and ate it. Luckily it did not make him sick. There was also no remote in the room. And the TV was from 1980. And if we wanted internet, we had to pay $2.99 or $4.99.

This was my third time staying at this Motel and I believe it would be the last one. Unfortunately, not happy with the service. I planned to stay 5 days from monday thru friday 2/20-2/24, however, my room service was never done even though I had asked early at the front desk if I needed a sign on my bedroom door before leaving so they know it is ok to come in and clean, and I was told that I dont needed anything, and that the room would get clean early. However, when my husband and I and kids returned the room was not done, we needed towels, toilet paper, clean sheets etc.the wifi sucked, we had 3 devices and the TV cable was not working. I complaint to the front desk, and they told me that because they have dish and the bad weather they were experiencing difficulties with the cable TV. and our telephone in the room was not working to call the front desk. We had to go out of the room in the cold at night to let the front desk know about this issues.Overall not a good experience.

The room that we stayed in was ok... it seems like it couldve been a little cleaner. I found quite a few hairs when I opened up the bed pillow area which kind of at first grossed me out I did not feel very fresh and clean sleeping in the beds the bedspread felt a little dirty as well :-( Our tv was very fuzzy the entire time and staticky. Someone from maintenance tried to fix it but couldnt, it was just A very old tv he said . The rooms are just very outdated and old looking as well and we paid quite a lot of money for a holiday weekend in my opinion for staying at a motel 6 that was pretty crappy to begin with. Unless they improve the quality of their rooms I will not ever stay here again !!! I could stay somewhere else down the road for the same price with way better clean rooms.

Bottom line:If you dont expect too much, you will not be disappointed.This is not a place where you can expect good service, clean room or things functioning as expected. If all you are looking for is a bed and a shower at the end of the day spent doing things that you came to Tahoe for, this place will do. But nothing beyond that.The motel has a run-down feel. Here are the points that tick me off as a customer:- Bait and switch. The picture of a room with a Queen size bed has a fridge and a microwave in it. What do I find out after arriving at the motel? Nope, no fridge and no microwave.- The room booked for 2 people had (large bath) towel for one person.- There is no bug screen on the window, which means either live with a noisy air conditioner which does not let you sleep at night or with bugs.- The electrical outlet was worn out to the point that it could not hold a plug - it would literally fall out. Luckily there another two that could be used.- The bed was not made when we came back into the room in the evening. I am not talking about changing the sheets, etc., but not even make the bed?- Still using CRT TVs?On a positive note, the staff is friendly and the ice maker is a monster.

My husband and are not Motel favorites. But two years ago we went Lake Tahoe on a fluke and there were no rooms. One left at Motel 6, so we took it and were quite surprised at how clean it was. Fast forward to this year Labor Day weekend again, rooms cost $200 a night everywhere so we chose Motel 6 and again very shocked at cleanliness. And very friendly staff.

This was the dirtiest room Ive seen. The floors, light switches and bathroom fan were all disgusting. These are all things very easy to fix but have been ignored for a long time. Pricing for S. Lake Tahoe was good. The people in the parking lot exchanging money at all hours for whatever wasnt. Personal safety and safety for my rental car became concerns (although in the end, nothing was taken or damaged). Also, the lack of general daily clean-up of the room was lacking. (beds were made, but there were no new towels replaced nor were there liners put in the waste paper baskets.......yet the tip I left was duly removed). Had to go and request towels myself. Needs improvement

This is one of the nicer Motel 6s with nicely kept grounds (perfect for your pet). Rooms are clean with good internet & TV connection. Staff attentive.The only complain I have is there was a stray dog barking almost all night on the property. Several people staying there said it belonged to someone staying at the motel but staff denied this. So not sure what was going on. It is on 50 West so plenty of traffic noise. If I returned here I would stay at the back of the property to minimize traffic noise. Its across the street from Grocery Outlet so you have access to cheaper foods rather than the overpriced restaurants in the area. The snow covered mountains are in the background so pretty scenery.

The location is in a nice area, and the rooms are also nice. My only issue is that not all of the rooms have microwaves and refrigerators and the TVs are a mix of CRT and plasma. The pool is also nice there no hot tub, but that doesnt really matter. Also the Wifi is extremely slow, youd think itd be fine for social media and webpages but it takes forever, dont bother buying it wait for your data. The staff was really nice and the room service was good.

We were very unhappy with our stay. The room next to us was having a party and we could hear everything until about 4am. The rooms had Extremely thin walls. The room for the most part appeared to be in good condition until we pulled down the sheets. The sheets had dried blood on them. The TV in my room was old and not energy efficient. Most of all beds need to be at least a standard comfort level not some hard stiff box spring I rather sleep on the floor type mattressI would of paid a higher price if I were to know that I was going to be so disappointed. the host in the lobby at my arrival must have thought I was a football receiver because instead of handing me the toilet paper he threw it up to the second floor where I was standing. Reservation for dog friendly room made by phone in advance, arrived at 6 p.m. but room not ready, told to hang out at pool, 92 degrees so couldnt leave dog in hot car, told to take him for a walk, hung out at a park until 8 p.m., no dog friendly room available, noted that I had a dog and had reserved such a room, told that rooms were only assigned when one arrived (not true, reservation was for dog friendly room), told to come back in half an hour, returned in 1 1/2 hours, no room ready. 9 soccer families stayed here at Motel 6 and every room was filthy. As I waslked in to mine it looked as if someone had been on the bed. Trash was left behind as well. After our first night, the only thing housekeeping did was drop off towles on the beds. Old towels werent taken, beds werent done and trash wasnt taken out. Another family family had dog p00p in their room and when changed to another room, there was dog food left behind in the 2nd room. Rooms were always stuffy/warm not sure if it is due to the fact that the AC unit is touching the bed. I hardly ever do bad reviews since I always try to see the positive to everything but this here I just couldnt see anything positive. I just dont get why people are getting paid to clean and not do it. Or why management doesnt take the time and do a walk through the cleaned rooms. I can almost guarantee that our complaints werent the first. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this motel.

The room was generally clean, BUT---the heating vent was dusty, there were black hairs in AND out of the shower (my sister & I are both blond, so these were either from the previous occupant, or from the housekeeper...) And I wish there had been a listing of all the available TV stations on the dial so we wouldnt have to guess as we searched for programming and had to deal with all the commercials!---I always stay here when visiting the Brothers who live here, so will be back again!
