This super clean, super crisp Motel 6 Classic is furnished in a fun kitschy way in cheery color patterns. “The best motel (of any brand) we’ve ever stayed in,” remarked my traveling companion. We originally needed a dog friendly motel but then decided to leave the pup at home; I’m sure he would have been safe and happy if we had decided to bring him.

The hotel is cute with an excellent location. They did a great job making it feel fun and beachy. The dove shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower is nice to have. The beds are not great, we stayed at a different motel 6 that was not as nice the night before but had wayyyy better beds. We had a 2 full beds room and it is very tight, small and would be hard for more than 2 people to be comfortable. But the worst part was that the water in the shower never got hot, just barely almost warm.

This location is right by the beach, and pet friendly! There were plenty of happy pups each morning ready to go for their runs on the beach. Ideal location and budget friendly. A couple of vending machines, morning coffee and ice machine on site.

My stay was good, free wifi, fridge and big tv in the room. Room was very clean. Free parking. Staff friendly and helpful. I had a room in the back and did not think the traffic from the freeway was audible.Close to the beach, 2mins, 15-20mins to the center. Price rather high

Subject: Concern Regarding Recent Stay at Motel 6 Everett North.I have been traveling around the country for about a year now, and unfortunately, this is the first time I have encountered an issue with theft at a motel. I had left an air tag in my room to track my luggage, and upon returning to my room two days later, I discovered that the tag was missing and disabled. This incident has left me feeling uneasy about the security measures at Motel 6.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Update: 04/12/24 After speaking with corporate HR and providing a list of my issues, which remain unresolved, I feel very uneasy about my choice to stay at Motel 6. My main grievance concerns the customer service, security, and housekeeping aspect of this particular establishment.

I thought that I had set my expectation when I decided on the Motel 6 but they were able to drop even lower. Sure, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, the sheet and towels were poor quality but that was expected. But not providing shampoo or anything but a bar soap for a $220 per night room is pretty bad. Plus, the front desk asked if I wanted my room cleaned (to which I said yes) but they didnt touch it. All of this could have been forgiven if I could have gotten a full night sleep. The worst part is that for some reason, they decide to start the laundry at 5:20am and it echoes through the room. I called and asked if I could move to a different room but the GM told me that their other options arent any quieter. The next night at 5:20am again, the room started echoing again, which is not the time that I was hoping to wake up on vacation. If all that you want a cheaper room with good location and dont care about sleeping, average quality bedding or the bare essentials, while also having a staff that couldnt care less, this is your spot. But if you want anything else for an additional $20 per night, there are better options.

Nice location across the beach, the room is clean and renovated, however no housekeeping service is offered during your stay, I went to ask 3 times at the reception for towels, afternoon and evening and the guy at the reception could not find any towels to give us, wow.

Let me start of with something good the location was perfect. Everything else no good.the water pipes broke without water for almost two days (42 hours) to be exact.accident happen.. I called multiple times sat to sun. Angela returned my call on a Tuesday. With end resolution of A $75 refund?!? Spent $700 almost.. how about a free night stay? Talk about penny pinch. Dealbreaker. My baby has to wait that long for a bath..unacceptable.No personal hygiene items. It was not worth it to try and stay again ever. Not worth the money couldve stayed in something nicer. Be wary. Just not happy with the turnaround time and honest at the front desk. It was unprofessional. They said it would be fixed same day. Then came Sunday same problem. wouldve went to a different establishment. I usually do great reviews this was a big upset for me with one under one.

Let me start by saying, we really loved this cute hotel. It’s clean and so thoughtfully decorated. It’s super inviting and just a really nice place to relax. The location is nice and a short distance from the beach. I was on the ocean side of the second floor and had a good little view of the ocean between the two buildings across the street. I was pleasantly surprised overall with this stay.However, it was difficult to sleep because the light from the balcony is so bright and comes in all the way around the edge of the curtain. The room looked like it had a lamp on all night. The hotel should really consider changing their window coverings to block out the light.I suggest bringing an eye mask and you’ll probably have a great stay!

5 stars! Was looking to book a pet friendly hotel that was near the beach, on the trail and wouldnt break the bank and this place was just right. The rooms are so cute and unlike any other Motel 6 Ive ever stayed at before. The staff was also great and the area felt safe for that last late night doggy walk.Would book here again and recommend.Thanks!

The rooms are nice and cozy. The front receptionists are really nice but the manager was rude!!! I didnt have my dog on the leash and I was getting coffee and my dog had wandered into the Private Office and she comes out and no good morning or anything and says You need to keep your dog on leash at all times when on the property . Hey Im all about following rules but I think she could have been a bit more courtesy. And for the price you pay they should have a continental b-fast!!! Besides that, its beautiful!! Didnt let the Amazon woman ruin it!!!

I booked Motel 6 in Santa Barbara because the hotel where my conference was had no availability. This location is perfect for walking to the beach, dining and getting over to the conference center where the event was held. I felt safe and comfortable coming and going any time of the day. The rooms were well equipped although you could hear everything nextdoor. My room was not facing the beach, but that was ok because I did get to face the mountains.I really didnt need to interact with anyone. It was a short Uber drive from the airport and a quick check in process in their small office. They had a vending machine that I did use once and my DoorDash driver had no issue finding my room for my delivery.I learned that this Motel 6 is the original Motel 6 built in the 1960s - it was only $6 a night back then! I paid near $200 per night in September which seemed fair for that area. I would definitely stay here in the future when I am visiting for work.

The room was less clean than expected. The pillows had some stains, the controller had food residue, the AC control panel was very visibly dirty. In the restroom, the shower floor was visibly grey with dirt and there was soap residue, hair, and mold on the walls and in the grout. Other than those things, everything else was relatively clean. The walls are also very thin, so we heard the upstairs guests steps and the dogs next door barking. The wifi was slow.

The flagshipmotel 6 is everything you thought it would be … circa 1950’s.- [ ] The Deluxe Queen room has a full bed.- [ ] It has an in room retro fridge and serviette packs in the lobby but NO microwave anywhere!!!- [ ] At $300 a night (all in tax/ city fee etc-Thurs to Sun)… room was impossibly small at 199 sq ft. No small table or 2 chairs (one plastic 60’s chair only).- [ ] NO M/W!!!!!! WTH?!? My food bill was 1/3 higher cause I couldn’t augment my exorbitant restaurant bill with warmed up leftovers in the room!!- [ ] Oh and - If security is important to you… There is NONE here. I was locked out of my room. Took 30 seconds to pop the screen on my open window and reach in to unlock the door. Old school design.On the plus side - location location location. Beach half a block walk with peak-a-boo view from the room. Quiet neighborhood near Amtrak station.The glory pics on their website over promise what you will actually get for the money.Overall - Not a good value for the money. There are several hotels/motels around this area. Maybe an extra $10 is worth the m/w and a few more sq. ft. bigger bed.

Excellent value stay at this beautifully restored and well-maintained iconic 1962 motel. Quiet, clean, comfortable room with good temperature control and a lovely sea view. Power sockets in all the right places, good lighting and a fridge. Free parking. Nice safe area, close to East Beach and the zoo, within walking distance of grocery shops and good eating places. Didnt use the pool but it looked clean and closes after dark so therell be no noisy late night pool parties. Rooms on the other side have good mountain views. No elevaror/lift, so book a ground floor room if stairs are an issue.

We travel with our kids and dog a lot and this pet friendly hotel is a total gem! If you get a room on the front side of the hotel, most have small ocean views. It is a short/half block from the beach and the bike path that goes along the beautiful waterfront.The rooms are cute and clean, with simple white linens and laminate-wood floors.The staff have always been friendly, and on our last visit we met the manager who was very helpful and accommodated a room switch (there was NOTHING wrong with our room, we just preferred the location/view from a room we stayed in on a previous visit.)This place far exceeds my expectation of a 2 star hotel, and provides phenomenal value for the money.

We drove down from the SFBay area to catch a show at the Santa Barbara bowl. Motel 6 was chosen because it only cost us like $120 for one night and is dog friendly. I was amazed it was only one block from the beach and two miles from the venue which we wrote our bikes to. The rooms are small but had everything we needed. Clean modern and a cool retro refrigerator I noticed in the bathroom that the pricing posted was somewhere around $500 for two people a night, so I guess we got lucky with the booking price. I would book here again in a heartbeat. Its a great location

This is a yearly travel spot for us, and weve stayed here each time. The family who owns/runs the motel is very nice and ready to help 😀 if you need anything ❤️. Its clean and well cared for. Away from the high traffic on State St, its quiet 🤫, unless there are families with younger children and parents dont discipline them 🙄 on how to be curtious to others.. I have recommended this place to others. I know we will be back.

We only gave it 3 stars because it is, after all, a Motel 6, however, it is better than I expected. The last M6 I stayed in was when we were poor college students and it was not the best experience. We we’re pleasantly surprised. The rooms are remodeled with a contemporary, beach feel, clean and not too bad. If you want a SB luxury experience stay at the Miramar Rosewood hotel for $1000+ more. It’s our first night and the only complaint I have is the walls are thin. We’ll see how the next two nights go. I’ll report back. Remember, you are warned that the room is only 200sf.

This is the best Motel 6 Ive ever stayed in. The cleanliness of the room was immaculate. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The pillows were huge and very fluffy. The decor was unlike any Ive ever seen in a Motel 6. There was a small refrigerator in the room as well as a hair drier. Ive never stayed at a Motel 6 that provided such things before. After checking in and entering the room, I immediately went back to the front office to compliment the lady who was working the desk on how awesome the room was. Upon talking to her I learn that this was the VERY First Motel 6 ever built. Her name was Angela. I think she was the manager or even party owner, but my memory is failing me so Im not sure. I could tell from talking to her how she took her job of providing a positive experience to the traveling patrons who were staying there very seriously. I could tell that she is a hard worker and is very dedicated to the perpetuation of the hotels success. Did I mention that this hotel is only a few hundred feet from the beach? Its in an ideal location for access to restaurants, bars, and of course The Pacific Ocean. After staying here for the first time on Tuesday October 18th, 2022, this hotel will always be where I stay in future visits to Santa Barbara.

This weekend my friend and I stayed at the Motel 6 for the first time EVER in our lives. While we still thought it was high priced for what we got, the room was clean (yet very small especially for 2 people). What we were impressed with most was the staff. They were super friendly and informative and helpful. Debbie (and I really hope that is her name but the morning front desk woman who knits) was absolutely wonderful and we are very grateful for her and her service. Other positives are its in a great area with good food, theres a7-11 across the street along with a dispensary so we were happy. Thank you Motel 6!!

When you think of the name Motel 6, high expectations wont typically come to mind. However, this motel 6 was absolutely fantastic!!! You couldnt even tell it was a motel 6. It was breathtaking. The rooms were updated and beautifully renovated. You couldnt hear other people in their rooms around you either. Only thing to keep in mind was my room did not have a microwave or a clothing iron but I’m not sure if every room is like that, so I would ask if that is what you are looking for. And the Asian American hotel receptionist was super super nice and welcoming. She had such a warm personality and was happy to check us in. I had asked for extra pillows and she walked them over to our room happily in no time. The pool was also very clean and was the perfect temperature. The best part for last was definitely the short 2 minute walk to the beach!! Depending which room you got, you get a gorgeous view of the beach through your window. Highly recommend this motel!!

Definitely doesn’t even deserve a 2-Star rating. I booked a stay for a friend and instead of being treated as a guest they insulted her upon arrival and were unwilling to find even the most basic of solutions to ensure her comfort. Instead of being a hotel they decided to be a point of discomfort and leave their potential guest without anywhere to stay and no help. Would highly advice avoiding this place at all costs.

Great location. Property was fresh, clean and convenient for our needs. Very quiet, rooms to either side of us were unoccupied. Opted for a ground level room because we were too tired to schlep our bags up the stairs for a one night stay. Our little dog enjoyed hanging out, too. Lobby staff was professional, polite and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is really good and close to the beach. The room is very tiny but clean and newly renovated it appeared. But, the owner is so selfish with giving the bare minimums to their clientele that it was very irritating. For example, we needed more than just two bath towels and one set of shampoo/conditioner but they were very rude when we asked for more towels. NO Kleenexes, Coffee maker or coffee, microwave or a bottle of water given in the room. We didnt mind having it all so basic but we did mind the rude behavior when we asked for a few more towels.Lastly, there is NO elevator, and the motel does NOT offer any handicap rooms. They forced my 86 year old parents to walk up a flight of stairs to reach their room the entire stay. However, they did tell us for an extra surcharge of $100 a night, they could put my parents on the ground level. It was all so ridiculous and insensitive.Hope this helps.

Affordable. Convenient. Clean. Comfortable. Great customer service. Rented a room here not expecting too much, when we arrived I was very happy with our stay. The front desk employee was so kind and she gave us a cute pet box for our small dog who was traveling with us :) our room- It had a cool 1960s beach vibe. Did just the trick, no frills. Comfortable and clean room. Walking distance to the ocean and all the shops. The bed was great, and the shower was great also. If you’re looking for something simple and easy, just a place to rest your head while you have some fun in Santa Barbra I would most definitely recommend this place.

The location is nice but I was not impressed with the customer service. I stayed 2 nights Sat-Mon over Mothers Day weekend. I paid over $600 which honestly is the most I have ever paid for a 2 night stay anywhere (even NYC), and here I was at a motel 6, but SB mothers day weekend I didnt have much choice. Well when we checked in I asked the girl would it be possible to get a room with a view toward the beach. She said they were sold out that night but the next night, Sunday, there should be plenty of availability and to check in the morning. So I did and the guy took 2 seconds to say, uuummmm no sorry. He said can I help you with anything else? so I said we need more towels and he said ok, but then never sent them. We were at the end of the hall facing the parking lot which was fine, but we were right next to the laundry room and so not super quiet and I felt like I couldnt keep my window open due to the noise. Monday morning I asked if we could get a late check out by 1 hour (since I had to help my daughter take her car to get fixed) and she said no, only 1/2 hour, so I was stressed out the whole time. What the heck they did not meet my requests for anything. Not exactly what I was expecting for a $300 per night stay.

This place gave me the worst customer service I have ever had. They wouldnt take responsibility for a third-party booking company making a huge mistake. The general manager (Angela) was extremely matter-of-fact that it wasnt there mistake. I maintain that anybody that books for them, they are responsible for. She did not agree and would not refund my money. She didn’t seem to care that we did have a room for the night. If this person worked me and treated my customers like she treated us I would fire her. I will never go back to that motel. we ended up without a room for the night and had to drive home extremely late. I would not recommend booking a room in this motel. If you do, be very careful and have an alternative plan.

0 Stars.I cant even begin to describe the dissatisfaction and disappointment I have in this location.I had booked a room 4 days in advance for a long trip I would be taking down the coast of California. The morning of I made sure to call and confirm my reservation, as well as let them know the time I would be arriving to ensure there would be no issues. After arriving at 11:30 pm from a 6 hour drive excited as ever I was told they had over booked and they no longer had a room for me. The clerk at the front desk wasnt rude and I could tell was fighting to be able to help us (trying to give us a room that was in fact available) however who I can only assume to be the manager on the phone was being loud as ever so much so that I could over hear her. No care and lack of hospitality being BLATANTLY DISRESPECTFUL and down right ILL-MANNERED towards the worker and me the customer. All and all ending with her stating that we would just have to figure it out on our own and to send us on our way, it wasnt there problem that THEY had overbooked. No aid in finding a location to sleep. No care at all. We were given and Im sorry by the front desk lady and a good luck finding a place and were sent on our way. At the end of all of this, I will NEVER have anything good to say about this place ever again and to anyone thinking of booking. Id genuinely think twice.

This hotel was amazing! Its literally across the street from the beach. The price was unbeatable and everything was renovated beautifully. We just went for a quick overnight stay and the fact that dogs stay free is the best! Jocelyn helped us with check in and she was so kid and accommodating. The room was very clean!

The room was clean and had everything we needed. The location was also excellent - just a short walk away from the beach. This was the first ever Motel 6 to be built, which is kind of cool as it is a little piece of history. The walls were thin however and so I could hear other peoples TVs which kept me awake and the room, although adequate, was basic and small considering the price. Definitely the best Motel 6 Ive stayed in, but its pricey for what it is.

Classy, clean, updated but with a totally retro feel, this motel was established in 1962 and they have all their decor done up appropriately. Most of the motels in this chain have gone through extensive renovations in recent years, and they are almost invariably the cheapest. I pretty much always look for them whenever I travel! (I do wish their pools were heated, however. Much of the year, even in Southern California, it’s too cold to swim without that.)

[4.99 stars] Well first, its coveniently located 1.5 blocks away from the beach and within 1 mile what they call the Funk Zone (restaurants, art galleries, nightclubs, etc) and the zoo. The property got revamped from floor to ceiling apparently. The outside isnt shabby for a motel and the rooms are as the pictures show. It has a retro-contemporary decór and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and they actually have down pillows. I know because a feather was poking my cheek in the middle of the night....guess I was snoring too loudly. Towels were soft and fluffy. Staff was super friendly.Now for the negative other than the wayward feather. Under the TV on the wall are instructions for casting from the phone to the TV. It didnt work and staff couldnt figure it out either, which is fine given they had plenty of channels to choose from. Hence the 0.01 star deduction. What?!? I had to point out something 😏Would I recommend it...most definitely! For the price ya cant beat it.

I was very impressed with Motel 6 and feel that the new design helps reboot the brand. The staff at the front were incredibly helpful and warm, and I appreciate the complimentary coffee and tea in the morning.The location is incredible (one short block to East Beach), and the rooms are a comfortable size. I did not expect a fridge and microwave, so that was a pleasant surprise. The laminate hardwood floors help the rooms feel exceptionally clean, and they are also nice if you have a small pet you are traveling with (as I did!). There is also a nice sized pool area if you feel like chilling at the hotel property.My only critique is that the water pressure in the shower was a little low, and the doors between the bathroom and living space did not afford much privacy, but these drawbacks are very small in comparison to the rest of what you get for your dollar.

You can see the beach from the property. Beautifully renovated and clean rooms. The fur babies loved the room as well. This locations is pretty terrific! If you want to plan a road trip, I suggest going up the coast to Motel 6 in Pismo Beach (the one on Main Street). You will have the best time!

We had booked an oceanside room for the price of 470 USD. What we got was a room on the ground floor with direct view on the car park - which happens to be on the oceanside of the building (!). As an add-on, we got all the noise from people getting in and out of their cars (incl. the honk when locking) just three feet from our pillow. Since everybody is walking by the window, curtains nees to be kept shut, so no daylight either (see picture). The room offers no amenities whatsoever - no coffee machine, no safe, not even a box of tissues. Since there is no cupboard either, not a single hanger or hool to hang a shirt, the clothes have to stay in the suitcase. At least, the room was large and clean, but alltogether a total ripoff.

I was so very pleasantly surprised! This was my first stay in a Motel 6 in over 30 years. To be totally honest I was not looking forward to it. We were traveling (with our family dog) and decided at the last minute to stop in Santa Barbara for the night. I wanted to stay near the beach but didn’t want to pay over $300. This was the only option that came up and I reluctantly booked this room figuring we would be walking on the beach before bed and would just need a place to shower and sleep for a few hours before we got back on the road. WOW was I surprised! This room was sparkling clean and very modern. There was ample well lighted parking. Our room appeared to have fresh paint and been recently remodeled (wood laminate flooring, updated fixtures etc). I commented to the manager when we were checking out about the great condition of the rooms/property and he replied that it had been over 10 years since their last remodel. He said they just believe in keeping it well maintained! YES - RIGHT ANSWER!!! We will definitely stay here again, I feel like this special find was a secret hideaway for future trips to this area. Thank you for a wonderful stay and opening my eyes to some new possibilities!

The rooms were nice and clean. Our beds were well made and organized and we came to a clean bathroom area. The staff at the front desk were very personable and nice to interact with when we checked in and out of the hotel.I feel like the pool can be a little bit bigger. Also, since our room was in the back of the motel, we decided to park right there. However, there was only one way into the back, which can also serve as an exit as well. It seemed kind of dangerous to me and scary everytime I drove my car to enter/leave the parking lot in the back.Other than that, I do still look forward to staying at another Motel 6. Thank you!

Pretty quiet location since it is not on the main street. Only noise is people choosing to have conversations on the balcony walkway instead of in their room! Beach is a block away and is big and beautiful scenery around. State street/Fishermens Wharf is about 25 minutes walking one way,so wear comfy shoes if you are going to do the walk. I prefer that because parking can be awful. The beds were comfortable and the room is very cute with the new remodel they did. No gross carpet is a plus! We reserved the room with the mini fridge,which will cost you extra. No microwave unfortunately. The beds were very comfortable and air conditioning worked great! Not a lot of storage space, so this is not a place for a long stay with a family. The pool is pretty small and will only allow 15 people max, although it was not open due to waiting for the inspector to sign off on the remodel they had to do because of covid. No food at this location, only drink vending machines. Not many food locations close. You can walk a little ways and get tacos and there is a general market a couple blocks away.We slept well and had a very good stay! Will be back!

My daughters and I surprised my husband for a Fathers Day weekend getaway. He had never visited Santa Barbara and our experience at the Motel 6 was exceptional. We were one block from the beach and even had an ocean view just outside our motel door. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There was daily housekeeping services where they cleaned the room and also replenished the towels. Coffee in the office and plenty of parking. The rooms were very quiet and the staff was so nice. Traveling on a motorcycle trip with my daughter. Last minute, was looking for an inexpensive Santa Barbara hotel by the beach and could not have been more pleased with Motel 6. As expected, our room was very plain and utilitarian. No surprise there. However, the room was quite clean except for a few very long black hairs that my sons found throughout the room. The room had no odor and looked good. Some of the furniture had some evident wear especially the platforms holding the beds up (broken particle board). A/C worked well providing nice white noise to sleep by. After, using the shower, our very small room felt like a sauna. One of the two beds (closest to the window) creaked and moaned mercilessly under weight so that every time my son (210lbs) moved while sleeping the noise would wake him. Great shower. The staff were lovely and let us check in early. The location is amazing! Less than a minute from the most beautiful beach- absolutely perfect if you want a couple of days in the sun. Its about a 30 min walk from state street (downtown) with bars and restaurants but the walk is along the beach so its beautiful. Or its about $7 in an uber. Great spot.

I stayed here around Thanksgiving of 2019 with my two kids.Half of this property is fenced off and under construction and has been since December of 2018. The pool seemed to be operational but was also fenced off and unusable. Upon arrival there was a plumber in the driveway discussing digging out the front driveway due to a storm drainage issue in the rear of the property that had flooded the rear parking lot with a ton of water from a recent rain. They ended up using a power sump pump to suck out all the water, but had to return the next day after it rained again. There was a bit of noise and activity due to this. The staff was friendly but was unable to offer any compensation for these things. The room itself was very basic. The room lacked a proper bathroom door, more so a set of double doors that was hard to close that led to the sink area which led to a non doored toilet and shower room. This lacked privacy since these doors were hard to shut and didnt have any locks. I didnt want to see my son pooping while I was brushing my teeth for instance. There are no microwaves or fridges in the room at all. The beds were very hard and supported by a thin mattress and solid piece of wood underneath. A step up from a jailhouse maybe but not much past that. The TV had a custom HDMI/VGA/RCA port accessible outlet but whoever installed the TV neglected to connect HDMI. So I had to winch my hand behind the TV to connect the HDMI. The WiFi was slow and unreliable. For over 150 a night this was a ridiculously high price. I should have just slept in the car near the beach!!! I would never ever stay here again and tell my family who recommended this place to never recommend it again. It sucks and should be closed down. The only good thing about it is the beach proximity.

The staff was pleasant at check in, but apparently the manager has a cat who lives here, so if youre severely allergic, keep that in mind.I ended up in one of the refreshed rooms. Which means the floors are cheap light-colored fake bamboo that looked filthy as soon as we walked in (its raining) and the room smells like outgassing plastic.Unfortunately, when they redecorated they failed to do any additional noise-proofing. Which is unfortunate, since Im on the back side of the building, facing the freeway. Bring earplugs, or ask to be put on the quiet side.For the money (about $90 including tax) I expected more, considering that other motels Ive been staying at in this price point provide in-room microwaves, mini-fridges and coffee makers. Theres no shampoo or hair dryer, either. I get that Motel 6 is supposed to be bare-bones, but when La Quinta, Super 8, and other chains provide these amenities for the same room rate, I have no idea why I should stay in a Motel 6 again.

Start with the pros -- affordable, considering its Santa Barbara, its a five-minute walk to the beach, and they allow pets. Cons -- none of the basics, even for a Motel 6 such as: placard for do not disturb or to clean the room, a mini fridge, a coffee machine, iron/ironing board, hairdryer. I was so disappointed. Always assumed this was a great space due to location. We left the Carpenteria North (which was awesome and had great staff) to flee the Thomas Fire area. First room, first night was in a moldy smelly room. Staff gave me air freshener. No offer to change room even though hotel was not remotely full. Second night I insisted we change rooms. This room did not have a functioning air conditioner. Sounded like the condenser started going out. Spent the night in a hot room, which we couldnt open the windows to due to the air quality from the fire outside. Hmm. cant open windows due to air quality and cant run the air conditioner. Guess I was supposed to just die in there and wait till my body was found. I told them I would check out at noon. (when I checked in they were upset I paid in cash) Asked them to make sure by noon (4 hours away) that they had cash to give me my refund. Noon came, no cash. I got the distinct feeling after manager went to back, he pulled cash from his own account. Whole things was bizarre and cheesy. Will never recommend. Asked for a partial refund for night with no air. They just pretended not to understand me. Still waiting. Not sure why Motel 6 is charging standard rates anyway during a fire when all amenities cannot be use and hotel is not in demand.

Great location, beautiful surroundings but the NO. 1 complaint I have about this and most other Motel 6s is the condition of the bathrooms- I spend many weekends at Motel 6 for dog shows.The bathrooms smell (have a foul odor) and this odor is not a clean, fresh one. A clorox odor would be much preferable- at least Clorox or bleach is hygienic and it is not an expensive cleaner. I urge the corporate owner to consider making Clorox or bleach mandatory for the sanitary cleaning of bathrooms.Another complaint I have is about the cleaning of toilets in the bathrooms (worse in some motel 6s) -- the black rim left on the upper rim of toilets. Front office people competent and friendly. Great location near beach. Rooms not very clean (hair on floor, bugs in bath, sticky handprints visible on headboard of bed) and smelled unpleasant (smoke? mold?). Wouldnt stay here again.

I wish I could have more positive things to say, but the only one I have is that the bed was very comfortable. However, the room smelled like musty cigarettes, had paper thin walls, no microwave, no coffee maker... and bring your own Shampoo. Way, WAY OVER PRICED!

Love the location as its right between our childrens homes. Room attendants did a good job of keeping us neat. The price is right. Easy on and off the 101. Nice walks by the ocean or in town. Convenient to some shopping.

Horrible place to stay . For the price . Its small . Stunk like wet cigarettes. Not to clean . Bed is piss poor and blankets are as cheap as they can be . Walls are thin . U can hear everything . I would have rather slept in my truck . People who work here are inconsiderate as well . They dont care its just a job to them . Truth is my room is paid for by work and I still feel like 100% ripped off.

The service is always great. We stay at this Motel 6 often and we are rewarded for that. The motel itself is simple yet functional for our needs and the location is great. Its a little pricey but everything in Santa Barbara is. We will continue to stay at this motel.

Management was very accommodating when our refrigerator wasnt working, allowed us to store our cold items on the office. Beautiful location, partial ocean view room, clean and quiet.

We paid $176. for the night which is far too much for Motel 6. We found out that there were other places to stay in the area that were nicer for less but we chose Motel 6 because they accepted our dog. The table in the room was sticky/dirty but the rest of the room was clean.

My 12 year-old daughter and I wanted to spend a few days in Santa Barbara before school starts, and chose this motel for the price and the location. First and foremost, the location is PERFECT! We came in on the Amtrak, and relied solely on SB public transportation. All of the SB must-sees are easily within trolley, walking, busing distance. The staff here was VERY accommodating...we were only in our room to sleep and shower, so the amenities served their purpose.

We asked for a crib and were given a filthy disgusting pack and play. It was seriously stained beyond belief. I actually bought some cleaner and wiped it down in the shower, but it was too wet for my son to sleep in now.My wife requested a new pack and play and the one they found was literally dripping disgusting water from it.I guess all of the cribs were already taken.The employees were nice, but it really took us prodding to get some good answers. I had to go out of my way and suggest they ask a nearby Motel 6 (state street) if they had any spare cribs or pack and plays. Turns out they had a pack and play that looked nearly brand new and was in good shape.It was disappointing to be given those pack and plays that were not safe for a 1 year old to sleep in, and then have to problem solve and suggest ways to remedy the entire situation.
