Air conditioner didnt work. Paid extra for a refrigerator, which didnt work. The front door & bathroom door didnt close properly. The room smelled like wet cigarettes, it was disgusting. The cleaniness of the room was sub par, it desperately needed a deep cleaning. No one slept under the covers of the bed and the beds themselves were old, lumpy and uncomfortable. Had to wait outside (no available chairs) of the check in office for 30+ minutes because they were in a staff meeting. I drove several hours & I clearly am disabled. This was just rude in my opinion. Less than 10 days later the motels on Kern were in the papers because of the arrest of sex trafficking. Beware & lock your doors, the area is rough. The only good thing in the area was the freeway access, the In & Out Burger and McDonalds across the street. I addressed the issues with the check in staff at check out and was blown off. Such a shame that they do not live up to the typical motel 6.

I must say, Ive enjoyed staying at this location the last couple of weeks. The customer service is amazing, the rooms are clean and the freeway access is a plus. Would definitely recommend this Motel to anyone stopping by this beautiful city.

I prepaid my room but still took over 25 minutes to check in because the staff on duty wanted to charge/have me pay more. I had just driven for the last 12 hrs and just wanted to lay down and decompress; however, I refused to pay more. So, I pulled up my reservation/confirmation, handed them my phone, and after a few more minutes they finally figured it out (think they called someone).As for the room, I laughed when on the amenities page it said toilet paper was included with the room as i had never seen (or at least noticed it before)...then I found out why. The room was bare bones! The shower had only a curtain, no liner. So, the water was going everywhere onto the floor. There was no hair dryer, no iron or ironing board, and the beds only had sheets on them. Thankfully, there was a heater, but I was definitely surprised at what I encountered. Also, there was no microwave, which was odd to me as I read the rooms had them.The next day, I informed the staff about the lack of shower liner, and they said theyd send housekeeping to take a look at it. She came to the room like 30 minutes later, looked at the shower, and said she would send maintainence (never saw them and just dealt with the water making a mess). When I asked about a hair dryer, etc., I was told they didnt have them. Fine....what about the microwave? I was informed that if I wanted a room with a microwave, Id have to pay more money and change rooms. Yeah....nope!When I drive to California, I usually stay at the other Motel 6 near the airport. Ive been going there for years, and Ive never had a problem. This location was booked by mistake as I didnt look at the address, just the name (honestly forgot, there were two Motel 6s in the area). So, when I realized my error a few days after when confirming my booking, it was too late to cancel, I figured it should be fine, and Id have the same experience...nope! I admit I goofed with the location, but I expected the same quality and service I was accustomed to with this chain. After staying there for 3 nights, I guarantee this will NOT be a mistake I make twice.

We spent two nights here. Price is better than anything in Monterey where we attended a wedding. The room looked pretty good, my only critics is about the lack of a fridge. The water had a bad taste but thankfully there was a vending machine to buy water.

After staying a night I realized this location offers a military/veterans discount which I wasn’t aware of upon check in. Since I’m hitchhiking for a form of travel, every dollar matters. I asked the manager after checking out if they were able to refund the difference for the veterans discount. After showing my veterans affairs benefits card, he processed some paperwork and refunded me $10 directly to my hand, very very kind of this Motel 6 staff to display such care, empathy, and hospitality. Speak kind, respectful, and slow to them, and they will do their best to assist and empathize.

No shampoo in bathroom. No water bottles in room. Only few rooms have microwave and Refrigerator and you pay extra for it, If you booked room from Expedia or any third party online website, even though it says full amenities on site, they actually don’t book you for premium rooms, only standard rooms are allocated to guest, you need to Call your third party website and they will call motel 6 to resolve this issue. Beside this, we get clean rooms and bed, no sighting of bed bug, no smelly blankets 😊👍

It wasnt very clean yikes! 😕 I dropped my makeup brush and it rolled under the A/C unit and of dear lord it hasnt been cleaned under there in God knows how long 💀 had to throw that brush away! No blow dryer.The best part was In an Out is right there.

I loved the smoking rooms so I could vape. Thats about it. The place is nice enough but you realize its indeed a bit run down. Safe and hygienic. It just feels a bit rundown. No real complaints besides no continental breakfast.

First, the face to face staff, including security, were very nice and helpful. We got in really late 11:00 pm or so and received the wrong room, staff switched it immediately. New room had a dirty toilet and shower, but we were so tired we didnt care. 3:30 am we awoke to this horrid screeching sound. It sounded like heavy construction in the room next door. It halted, then moments later did it again, and I realized it might be the plumbing. I got up and ran some water and flushed the toilet. Water pressure was definitely low. It happened again 45 minutes later, so we called the desk. Lady confirmed she had heard it too, and said the plumbing sometimes just does that. Nothing she could do.We suffered intermittent noise until one more big screeching episode at 7 am. We packed up and asked for a refund for the next night we were supposed to stay. Office staff immediately refunded the next night.Called later to discuss a possible refund of the night we stayed with the manager, and wow. She really treated me like I was stupid and acted like she didnt believe me. No refund because we did stay.So be aware... You can stay there but you wont get any sleep.

I think this was a great location. I like that there was restaurants and a gas station/freeway close by. I also really enjoyed that the room that we stayed in was very clean. The AC worked amazing.. it was quiet at night time. It came with a mini refrigerator in microwave. The only thing if I was to complain what have been the fact that they didnt have no hand towels or no rug there was only two towels. And there was no shower curtain. I reserved the first night about 4 days prior to my stay, and when I went there to get the room and pay there was no reservations made on their end. Thank Gosh I had my email verification with the reservation code so they honored it of course but then when I wanted to extend our stay one more day the price skyrocketed. But overall look good experience there was just some minor hiccups.

The rooms were clean I felt really safe at night with security there. However, the rooms on the another hand werent too clean. They had like.. regular wear and tear from use towels had like make up stains. There was no complimentary shampoo or conditioner. I came to stay the weekend and forgot my shower stuff to my surprise they dont offer any travel S&C. So I had to go buy some they should explain it.

Everyone at the front desk was absolutely pleasant! So friendly. Unfortunately, the first room we were put in did not look clean at all. A dried up coke ring and dried up pizza was on the nightstand. Floors didn’t even look swept. But the worst part: one bed looked like it had dried up pee on the sheets and the other bed was covered in hair! Disgusting. We went and told them and they instantly switched rooms. The second was much better, but overall basic housekeeping seems to be lacking here. But once again, the front counter staff were all amazing!

We had made a reservation from Friday to Sunday, but we returned on Saturday, our experience was horrible, everything was missing in the room, we had to ask for towels and toilet paper because what they had left was not enough and it was the rest of another guest. The bedroom floor was dirty. We returned home because there was a lot of noise, people talking loudly at dawn, our baby didnt sleep all night due to the noises. The place was dangerous. We hated the experience and will not be returning.

The rooms were a bit shabby and the place could use some paint. Other than that we were satisfied with our stay. The young man at the front desk was incredibly courteous and helpful. Also we appreciated the presence of the security guard. He was also very courteous and really kept his eyes on everything. Given that the are is a little rough, its nice to know that someone is keeping their eyes on comings and goings. All in all things were good.

I had an accessible room, and it was a good size, and the bathroom was quite large, with a shower that would accommodate a wheelchair if necessary. There was plenty of handicapped parking right outside the doors, and a nice area to walk dogs right across from the parking area. Reception staff was very friendly. However, I was surprised to find no soap in the room the first night, and the maid hadnt replaced the towels that I had not rehung the second day, emptied only one of the wastebaskets, and didnt make my bed. Yes, I had straightened it well, but thats not the same thing. The staff replaced my soap and towel promptly when I went to the office, but I think that shouldnt have been necessary. My room was in front, in a row of accessible rooms, and the street noise was very loud. Probably wouldnt have been so loud if your room is in the back. Very convenient to gas stations, Starbucks, freeway, and Hwy 68 if youre going to Monterey. One thing lacking in the bathroom is someplace to put out makeup, toothbrush, etc., or a towel rack near the sink for a hand towel.

I was traveling at the absolute WORST time, and needed to rest my eyes from all the stressful weather I had drove through.For one thing, this motel let me pay with cash, gave me a room right away, it was Perfect for what I needed and that was a clean, cheap room, so I could get some rest and get rid of the migraine I had. When traveling north or this route, this hotel will surely be my half way point rest stop!

A homeless lady threatened us from the fence, there was no blanket, there was blood splattered on the walls, and lastly I dropped a mug out of our car which has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel.But the staff was nice and the location was where we needed it to be.

I liked the convenience of the location, the room seemed clean and was comfortable. The bathtub didnt have a plug, so I had to improvise to take a bath, but other than that, the room was good. It was a noisy place - mostly other customers I think - maybe the rooms could have had better sound insulation. I very much appreciated the dog-friendliness of the place - lots of grass and and areas to walk (clean up bins placed for dog poo werent stocked with bags, but I always have my own). Ill definitely stay there again when Im in the area!

This was a busy Hotel and well laid out. The staff was extremely friendly and proactive. My only concern with the room was how dirty it was, how poorly it smelled (air conditioning unit and bathroom) and how many items there were in the room and bathroom that needed to be addressed. Its as if someone had started a remodel, but didnt finish it. The room desperately needed to be deep-cleaned in every aspect. Again, all of the staff were extremely courteous, respectful and professional. For what that hotel has to work with, I think they do a decent job.

Stayed for a night here and when we went to check in the room wasnt even ready for us. The room had trash on the floor and sink, used hand towels in the bathroom and a band aid on the nightstand.When we asked managment when the room would be done they told us 30 minutes.We came back 2 hours later after having dinner only to see the cleaning lady just getting started on it.Once again I talked to management and they had an oh well attitude. No apologies. We waited outside the room for 20 minutes.When the room was FINALLY done it wasnt even stocked with basics. And told he had to buy from a vending machine on the property.We would have been better off sleeping in the car then this craphole.

Staff is nice... but requests are not met.I had requested Room #140, not available.Our room we were put in felt dirty. I requested to see if housekeeping can clean the floor. You can feel the filth stuck to the floor as if it had never been mopped since it was put in.Youre better off purchasing a Swifter mop and some disinfectant wipes and clean it yourself. As I did. I will not allow my kids walk, let alone play on this floor during our stay.Extremely disappointing.

Zero stars!I only got the room to get ready in before my wedding at the beach in carmel that evening. I was never planning on sleeping at the hotel but the minute we walked in to get ready we walked out. The room was DISGUSTING! It was filthy. The sheets were stained and had hair on them. The counters and floors were dirty. The room smelled like cigarettes. Even pickup up the phone to call the front desk was disgusting... the phone itself was ridiculously dirty. When we arrived to check in there was a man ahead of me in line at the front counter who was coughing and sniffling very aggressively. He was evidently very sick and he was still allowed to check in (who knows if it was just a cold or covid) and after being given his key he went straight to make himself a cup of coffee in the lobby touching everything in this path. The counter was not cleaned after he left and neither was the coffee area. We ended up leaving 5 minutes after arriving because I would rather loose the money I had paid and get ready for my wedding in my car than stay at that DISGUSTING place.

The. Only thing that I can say was the room smells good but the room is filthy. I paid $120 per night for this. I was struggling to talk to anyone because nobody speaks English except the front desk people. One housekeeper even demand me to speak Mexican. One time I said Thank you and this rude housekeeper said its gracias not thank you. I cant. I didnt ask for housekeeping for 3 days. And listen to this. I gather all my trash and give it to them on day 2 and this one same old housekeeper who is a bit heavy working at around 5ish pm on June 5 who has been very rude from day one wants me to go to the trash bin downstairs and throw it myself. I mean why? You cant put it on your own cart while you are doing housekeeping on my floor? I was lucky one housekeeper who has a brain took my trash and put in that trash bag on her cart. To be honest I am happy I brought my own lysol wipes and disinfect my own room before getting comfortable and made sure no one touches my room my whole stay. If you are scared of infection, better look for other place. My first time in a motel 6 because no Hilton hotel is available on this week, and wont be coming back. I totally regret.

Room was decent. Sheets were scratchy, shower head was only flowing at half capacity as the plunger didn’t switch fully to shower mode so the other half was wasted into the tub. The tv remote had to be reprogrammed every time we tried to use it. The front staff and security guard were very friendly and responsive. The cleaning crew was also great. Good value when compared to the other local hotels that had vacancy during car week.

I was very happy with this Motel 6. All of the beds are queen size, which is not the case at all Motel 6 motels. The staff at the front lobby were very pleasant, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was nice and quiet inside and out. My one complaint is that they dont have cup lids for the free coffee in the front lobby, and I spilled the coffee while walking back to my room, and I would not be able to bring it with me in my car. Overall, though, you cant beat the price or the value!

Reserved a room here mid July for a mid August stay. Recieved confirmation email. Arrived at hotel night of our stay and the first thing i experienced was 1, a nearly empty parking lot at 830pm aside from people loitering and a security guard strolling around the front, and at the window a guy cancelling his room for the night due to people smoking outside his room.when i got to the window, the staff at the front counter said my room had been cancelled due to them overbooking people. This is one of salinas and montereys busiest week/weekends.They whipped out their I-pad that showed a cancellation email going out 3 days after i booked the room.I check my emails daily. I had never recieved one from them outside of the thank you email for joining their program, and the email for the reservation confirmation.When i showed them my email history they shut down and doubled down on the fact that their manager/boss of an I-pad is telling them the email went out. and raised her voice to repeat that they were overbooked so thats why they booted my reservation like i was hard of hearing and lacked comprehension.The only information they offered was well, the cancellation emails go to the spam folder not the regular folder. you should have checked that. Thats where they goI then showed them my spam folder as well and there was nothing.Then i was abandoned at the window for 5 minutes while they opened the front doors and starter helping other people behind me. Eventually the lady who was helping came back and stared back at me with the most annoyed look and asked is there anything else i can help you with? and finished with a smile like she was enjoying denying people places to stay.she then offered the corporate customer service number to call and walked away.After being on hold with customer service for an hour i remembered that the guy in line before us had cancelled his reservation. We went back up to the window to ask for his room and the lady responded with an amused sorry, his room has to sit empty because it was paid for already, we cant help youi was able to find a room locally for a much more expensive price. ill never do business with motel 6 again outside of dealing with the customer service department ill be calling monday.

The same day I was to arrive I requested a room on the ground floor so I could move my equipment in there without walking up steps. So they gave me a handicapped room in the front. It was clean and plenty big enough. It was not noisy and everything worked. The wooden seat in the tub (for handicapped people) had screws that were coming out of the wall, but no big deal for me as I did not need it.The place was quiet at 11:30pm when I arrived. I did not see any people. There was a security guard out front with a night stick. After I drove around back to park there was a Salinas police car also in the parking lot driving out. So it seems they are keeping an eye on this motel.It was up to Motel 6 standards and was at a good price, and a great value for the money. I would go back.

I reserved one room with a queen bed. When I arrived the only rooms that were available where in the back which I didn’t want the receptionist stated that the only other rooms available in the front were for handicapped but at this point I didn’t mind having a handicapped room. Well they put me in a room that had no tub but I didn’t mind at all but it was cold and I just couldn’t get the heater to work so I went to the office and she changed me to another handicapped room which was one room away. Now in this room the heater worked just fine and it had a tub shower combo. To my disappointment though there were holes in the wall from where a rail had been removed. In my opinion these three holes could have been plugged. There was also a round circle hole in the floor by the bed. Which also should be fixed it could be a hazard to a real disabled person. I was so tired from my day that I didn’t mention this things to the staff . She was very nice. I truly believe that Motel 6 had been trusted name for a nice place to stay . But I was very disappointed with the condition of these two rooms especially knowing that they are being used for disabled people. That is the reason for the poor review. In my opinion you don’t have to leave the light on for me anymore!!!

Easy to find front desk clerk was super friendly pleasant and helpful. The room was clean smelled clean and bed was nice and comfy. We had no disruptions of noise or neighbors. Only thing was that our parking spot got taken and we had to park a ways from our room. I would have liked it if each parking spot had the designated room marked on there. But other than that it was great.

The rooms were not very clean. The rooms closest to the pool smelled like chlorine and smoke. I had my infant daughter with me and requested to change rooms away from the pool but when I went to open the door to the other room it was not ready and smelled like smoke again. Finally I was given a room that did not have the smoke scent. The front staff was nice about the room changes this was about the only good part of my experience. The bathroom was not very clean it had mold on the ceiling (not acceptable for a hotel property) and the tub had stains. The bathroom also did not contain much toilet paper. It had an existing roll that was almost empty. After seeing the bathroom I did not feel comfortable laying my 1 month old on the bedding. Luckily I brought an additional baby blanket and she layed on that. Unfortunatly I was not able to cancel my reservation because I had already been charged despite being told I Id be charged at the time of my checkin. Overall I wish Id spent a few extra dollar and stayed the hotel down the street.

Id like to start off by thanking the attentive staff at Motel 6 for meeting every request that I needed to make my visit a comfortable and worry free stay. Aaron at the front desk was very helpful with a reservation issue I had, and was very helpful to make a few calls to make sure charges were made accordingly & the issue would be dealt with. The manager (male, I forgot to ask for his name) at this hotel was very welcoming and even moved me to a room that had everything I would need. Amazing staff!!..The location is great right off and onto highway access. Gastations and delicious In n Out across the st. The security made my stay feel safe as well during night time, making his rounds of walking around the property, really nice guy as well. I hope this review influences your decision in making it your choice for your stay while in Salinas.

Great experience, In a town where everything was booked they had rooms and they did not gouge like their neighbors. Rooms were very clean and they had floors. When you walked on floors your feet were clean. All the staff members where really friendly and easy to speak to if we needed towels or soap etc. They have shampoo and stuff in vending machines if you forgot it. Allot of restaurants within walking distance for coffee BUT they do have coffee in the lobby. We stayed 17 miles away from our destination and saved over $200 dollars a night.

The room itself was clean and decent. There was no coffee maker, fridge or microwave, very disappointing to not find this room feature which has become quite common even in lower priced hotels. Your rates were a bit high considering the lack of these very common room features. You need more than 1 ice and vending area. Having the truck parking was nice. And a really good restaurant just down the block is beneficial.

We stayed from July 1st to July 5th and requested adjoining rooms. July 1st we checked into 249 and 250 and noticed room 250 smelled like smoke and the sink in 250 would not drain. We found the smoke detector in the bottom dresser drawer. We were immediately moved when we notified staff to 251 and 252. There were spots of vaseline (or some similar substance) in various areas of 251 - on the door lock and places on the walls. It got all over our stuff. 251 (and 249) had no luggage rack. Under the beds of 251 was filthy with dust, a soda can, tissue and two fountain drink lids. The back board to the top dresser drawer in 252 was missing, causing my laptop to drop to the second drawer. 252s toilet was constantly running and there was sand all over the dresser top. Tuesday morning at 7:30 my husband notified the front desk that we mistakenly left my bathing suit in 250 when we had to move. The receptionist said to come back at 11:30 to check if they had found it. He returned at 12:00 and she said they hadnt looked yet and come back tomorrow. I returned Wednesday to ask, receptionist took my name and number and said she would call to let me know. Thursday morning after receiving no phone call I went to ask again. A woman from housekeeping said a boy had checked and it wasnt there but I told them it was hung on the hook behind the bathroom door and wouldnt be seen unless someone went in and shut the door behind them. She said they would check and again took my name and number and said the would surely call this time regardless of whether or not it was found. Again no one called. When my husband returned to the hotel at 5 pm he found my suit on the ground right outside the door of 250. Tuesday, our beds were made and fresh towels were left but the floors were not cleaned. Wednesday and Thursday our rooms received no service or cleaning at all. We had to ask for towels. Wednesday night not one of our four room cards for the two rooms worked. We shared soap between the two rooms because we had only been given one each and had finished one already. Thursday night we had to call the front desk twice to ask for towels before they were brought. By Friday all the trashes were overflowing and we had ants. Although the grounds were beautiful and the staff friendly, the rooms were not taken care of at all and the staff was not helpful. It put a huge damper on our trip.

We stayed at 4 different locations and this was the ONLY Motel 6 that did not smell like tobacco. It was very clean and even the sheets and pillows smelled clean. Pros: We have been favorably impressed with recent stays at Motel 6. This one was a good location, upgraded rooms with wood-like floors. ConsWe spoke with the manager the second morning that we didnt need the maid to come in...to make up bed, change towels etc. He wrote down no service but she did come in. Motel 6 doesnt offer Privacy Please cards for the door. Thought the floor could be cleaner..he was going to speak to head housekeeping. Good response from him

I was very Unsatisfied with the stay here. The shower was dirty with hairs and every time we flushed the toilet it was so noisy! Also when I had the shower head running water it was clean but the faucet below when I had the water running on that one it was dirty water like rocks. This motel is in the rough part of town. Cops everywhere. There was* no mini refrigerator in the room.* No fan in the bathroom* No low flow toilets* No grip on the wall to get out of the tub* the water drained too slow in the tub and the sink.* The bed was said to be a Queen, but it was a Full instead.* There was only one night stand next to the bed instead of two.* You could hear the neighbors talk through the walls.The room was supposedly a non smoking room, but it smelled as if they sprayed freshener to mask the previous smoker.Wont go there again unless its remodelled.

After a few hours in the room the simulated hardwood floors had a large puddle of water. at first we thought maybe our ice chest was leaking so we moved it to the bathroom. we went out to dinner and came back to puddles on the floor again right in front of the heater/air conditioner mounted under the front window. we used towels to keep the floor dry. For context, weve stayed in many Motel 6 locations in the last 5 years because we have a dog who travels with us. We understand that this is a budget motel chain.We stayed here for 4 nights, 3 days over a long weekend in mid-July. We were gone much of the time visiting with family. When we returned to our room at about 10 PM on the second night, we discovered that our room had not been cleaned. I took the dirty towels to the office and asked for replacements, which the night staff gave us. The same thing happened the next day. There were also lots of flies flying around which flew into the rooms as we were coming and going if we left the door open at all. The floor in the room felt very dirty, so I wore my flip-flops inside.On a positive note, the parking lot was monitored by a security guard on Friday and Saturday nights who would not let people drive in without showing proof they were staying there. The lower tier WiFi (available for $2.99/day per user) worked consistently for light emails and web browsing. Front desk staff was friendly and polite.The main reason I choose this hotel was because we have a dog, and the average nightly rate was $100. The next best prices for a dog friendly hotel in the area that I found was about $200. When we return to the area to see family again, I will look harder for another hotel which takes dogs.Suggestions: consider adding WiFi and an in-room fridge as amenities for all the rooms.

Check was fast and the clerk was very friendly. The room itself was not up to par with what I have come to expect of motel 6. One of the beds was missing its top cover and the blanket had a very visible cigarette burn on it. When we went to lock the deadbolt it was broken and would not engage. The top slide lock was working but had obviously been kicked in a few times and been replaced. I had to move the bed against the wall so my young child would not fall off in the night. In doing so I discovered a half eaten granola bar and other trash under the bed. The floor had not been swept very well or mopped at all. Me and my kids feet were very dirty with in minutes. The second day the cleaning service was much better but they threw away the plastic cups and did not replace them. Also the remote for the barely worked and the Wi-Fi that I paid for had very bad signal and kept disconnecting from any device I connected with.

Apparently when you stay in a hotel these days you have to register every adult staying /visiting with you. I think weve spent the last 6 years of Rodeo weekend at the Motel 6 on Kern. We appreciate the price and proximity to the rodeo. It has always been clean until this visit. The grounds were clean enough and there was even security on duty. But, the room and the building itself were filthy. We changed rooms because #125 was so bad. #246 wasnt too much better. The walkways and stairways were awful: bits of trash everywhere, worn doormats, stair rails and railings were scuffed with dirt. Unfortunately, we will stay elsewhere next year.

We were surprised to find that none of the motel 6s in the area were offering their usual rates (under $100/night), so we were already disappointed to be paying $149 for a very basic room. However when we arrived, we were even further disappointed to find that the non smoking room we had booked smelled very strongly of cigarettes. There were no other rooms available so the manager offered to take $30 off of our bill to help compensate for the smell. However, when we went to leave the room to go back down to our car, the door would not open. We were locked inside. There was no way out of our room, and, apparently, it would have worked for any key to get in. The manager had to call the locksmith and have a security guard come and guard our things while the door was being fixed. Thankfully, the manager decided to comp our room altogether. This would have been a horrifying experience were it not for the way he handled things. Thankfully, we were all able to laugh about it. I would have given out experience one star, if not for the manager on duty who honestly did the best he could with a pretty rotten situation.

This is the third time I have stayed at this Motel 6. The newly remodeled room was great but I do have two issues. Firstly, we were on the second floor and the stairs up could definitely be improved. On separate occasions both myself and my wife stumbled on the somewhat worn steps. Luckily, the result was just a bit of lost skin and bruising. Please, sort the sketchy steps.The second issue was very noisy pipework. At 11:50 pm the room either above or next door took a shower. The horrendous noise that went on whilst the shower was running woke us both up. Not good. Fix your plumbing.Other than that, the room was clean and the location good. I booked a reservation prior to staying. When I arrived at 4:30pm they couldn’t find my reservation even when I showed they my booking number. I give three stars only because of the excellent service I received from the clerk at the front desk. I wish I had her name. Motel 6s are usually very good and could be rated at least a four if not a five. In all fairness, part of my issue is some of the clientele were somewhat unsavory and I know you cant control that. The neighborhood is a little seedy to begin with. My only other issue is the room service was somewhat inconsistent and one maid sort of coaxed me into not making her give the full room treatment as I was a multiple night guest. One day I found there were not any plastic cups and another day I was short a towel. These are not big things in themselves although they leave you with a nagging feeling things are not up to par.

When my family and I arrived at the motel, my credit card had been charged already because, according to the clerk, someone with the same first name checked in. He did not check the I.D. of the other guest or the credit card. They took me two doors down to see about another room. The room wreaked of marijuana. Even the two maintenance folks agreed that it smelled really bad. I then went to the main office and let the clerk know about the smell and asked, yet again, for another room. She didnt seem to care and didnt even look at me when I was talking to her. She just gave me a key to a different room. The next room was okay.All I all, I was not impressed by my stay at either motel, and I was even more unimpressed with the customer service.

Room was very dusty with old soda bottles under the bed. The bed covers had dark dirt stains on multiple corners. Connecting to the internet was nearly impossible. I went to the front desk multiple times and every time, although they were kind and patient, they couldnt do much because they dont deal with the internet portion of the stay, instead I was given a number to call the company directly. I stayed at the same Motel 6 last year, and I am mostly satisfied. Last year the mat in the bath was not changed during the 4 days. This year the bath towel was not changed. The same towel that was used on the first day was the same that was there on the last day. It had a small identifying stain. That by itself would not be a problem, but it showed that the towel had not been changed. What concerned me more, was that this may not have been a clean towel to begin with. It may have been used by the previous occupant. Sorry, IF I stay at Motel 6 again, Ill bring my own towels.

There was some black mold in the toilet, hairs on walls of tub and I had to whisk off the bed sheets of bits of things, including a few hairs. A plastic mattress cover was under the single layer of bed sheet, so you feel that when you lie down. The floors didnt feel too clean under foot. The rate was unfortunately $118 for the Friday night, during summer travel season and it was hard finding any where else to stay. Phone didnt work so I couldnt reach the office at 12:00 in the morning to request that the children above cease the relay races, for three nights I got maybe 2 hours sleep. The bed sheets were horrible, like sleeping on cotton balls, sweating as soon as you touch it. Had to buy new sheets to put over the motel ones. On my last night I requested if possible no above neighbors as I was driving 650 miles the next day. Thankfully I was able to get about 4 hours sleep and the front desk did what they could. The reason for not reporting the loud neighbors was I thought they would be there one night, my mistake, my fault for not alerting the front desk. They allow dogs was why I chose to not check out early. BTW the maid staff attempted to accommodate me when they could and were pleasant.

The Motel has the new, updated rooms not the ones in most of the pictures on this site. The rooms were clean and everything was working. The bed was more comfortable than most Motel 6, but this may be just this room. Do NOT stay on the backside of the Motel, there seemed to be quite a few guests coming to and from those rooms. The sides of the Motel are better. This was a good value for the area and convenient to the peninsula.

The desk clerks should be more courteous and trained better. My husband and I checked in earlier than our daughter and son-in-law. We paid for both rooms and were told that they only needed to pick up their key cards and show their IDs when they arrived. When they came to pick up their room key they were charged for the first night on their card. Their rooms were already paid for by me, so they attempted to double charge for the first night. Finally, the clerk had to call to have the charge reversed from our daughters card (we hope that happened). During this process, she never spoke to us to tell us what she was doing so our stress level rose. Also, she never apologized for her mistake. I have reserved rooms at Motel 6 several times and have not had a problem in the past. I will think twice about reserving again.

I made a reservation three weeks in advance and asked in writing for a first floor room because I was bring a very young puppy that needed to go out frequently. I was given a second floor room. Paint was flaking off the stairs. The air conditioner did not work and the room stank. It was during a heat wave and the room was uncomfortable. The floor was dirty and looked there was something hard and brown on the floor in front of the toilet. I slept OK the first night. The second evening when I came back my card did not work to open the door. I had had an exhausting 14 hour day at an outdoor dog event and needed to get to sleep. My performance dog also needed to sleep as the event started again at 7:00AM the next day. I had to get a new card so I could get into my room. There was INCREDIBLY LOUD music coming from across the street. The walls of my room vibrated, the noise reverberated at a level I had never heard before. I asked the man who let me into my room how long that would go on and said it happened frequently and was in a private home and that customers often complained, but that it would be over by 10PM per the noise ordinance. It was not over by 10. I called the front desk twice. I called 911 (there are no non-emergency police at night) as I felt so helpless and put upon. I was offered my money back and told I could leave. Such an offer at 11:30 on a Saturday night to a 68 year old woman with two dogs in tow is not an offer at all. The hotel knows about this problem of the noise as it is on-going. The staff was insulting and rude and unbelievably horrible. I would never stay there again. Worse than the noise, which I could only deal with by falling asleep with the TV on, was the unprofessional and disgusting attitude of the staff. This includes the hotel security staff and the front desk staff. This includes the woman at the front desk in the morning. When I told her what had happened the night before she said, Thats good. I have never been treated with such coarse rudeness in my entire life. I would give this place the worst possible rating and would never in my life give them a penny of my money ever again. In fact, as far as I am concerned, they owe me as I missed my first event in the morning due to not sleeping well. This place is a true nightmare and I cannot say enough bad things about it.

Overall, it was not a good experience. First of all, they asked each of my family members for our IDs at check in, which we all thought was strange because weve never been asked to do so before. They said it was policy because of recent break-ins. Our non-smoking room had an overwhelming smell of smoke right as we stepped inside. Bed sheets were not clean, I called the front desk and waited 25 minutes after being told a new set would be sent up. Before I checked in I stopped at 7-Eleven and bought two sandwiches two salads two bottle waters and two Coca-Cola‘s for the day of me being here and the next day, because I had to leave early in the morning to go back home in Nevada. The next morning 4:00 AM I was getting ready to go back home I went to go get my other sandwich and salad but my sandwich was gone. The room was fine. The only (very minor) complaint early on is that the ice machine is broken so we had to buy ice from the store.Then on 3/20/2017 we renewed our reservation. The system took the reservation fine. We went to the front office to pay and were refused service.The front office would not even tell us why we were being refused. So we called the central Motel 6 number and they tell us that we were refused because we had a guest in the room not on the list.This is completely false. There is video evidence that it is false from the camera just outside the room.We have spent thousands of dollars at Motel 6 over the past year and a half at locations all over northern California. Once this false red flag appeared on our account the staff automatically treated us as if we were criminals, refusing to help us or even to discuss the problem.Worst. Motel 6. Ever. I loved the staff from check in through daily hellos with staff. I had requested a room with micro & frig and was not available. Apparently the desk clerk told either his manager or owner. They went the extra step and one was moved from another location. I was thrilled.My greatest concern was the area and people that slither arount the motel. Surprisingly decent hotel for a Motel 6 (and in Salinas CA). I stayed three nights during the Monterey historic car races for which the Salins-Monterey hotels all book up early, and all jack their prices up 2X - 4X (so even mediocre motels will charge $300-400/night). This Motel 6 also jacked their prices up, but in relative terms, it was still a great deal (I paid twice as much for an armpit before).The room and bed were decent. A real surprise was the (simulated) wood floor rather than carpet. Much more appealing and sanitary than 5-10 year old carpet (although, they probably could mop them more frequently).The staff was also friendly and engaging, although I didnt have much engagement.Overall a real good surprise (I was ready for another armpit experience).

I called the front desk TWICE and spoke to Joseph and told him what was going on with the dog and AC so after nothing was done I went to the front desk and told him how awful our night was! I left him my number and he said the manager would get back to me which it’s been 2 days and no one has contacted me! So I called the 1-800 to complain because my stay wasn’t even worth it! I slept maybe 41/2 hrs and we checked out early I was so upset. We came out here to celebrate my 40th birthday and didn’t even sleep right, we might as well slept in the car! I really want a refund! The first room assigned to us reeked of cigarette smoke and we saw a roach running in the bathroom. This frightened my kids and made us feel nervous about spending the night. We heard knocking several times on the door of the suite next to us. Management gave us a new room which was better in smell.

I had a very bad experience at this Motel 6. First, I was put into Room 135 where I heard loud noises (like a jack hammer several times) when people in other rooms would turn on their faucets. Sometimes the sound was preceded by a loud whistling. No one could have gotten asleep in that room. Then, I was given a second room, 150, which turned out to be a double-room in which I could hear the loud talking that was going on even though it was after 10 pm. The room also had a faint smell of weed. Finally, I was put into room 112 where I was able to sleep. I was hoping for some kind of discount for the inconvenience of having to pack up twice and move--something which Ive never had to do before in any motel or hotel.

Copied my id, which is illegal. Said I couldnt stay if I didnt let them do so. Also, the rate they tried to charge was higher than the charge when I booked - they insisted that was due to taxes; but I pointed out that on the confirmation, taxes were included. They finally relented. Otherwise, nice people, nice grounds, good location, clean if sparse rooms. But take your confirmation form and beware that they will force you to have your id photocopied, legal or not.

Either the owner or manager is super nice, the first room he gave us wasnt cleaned yet and so he got us another room and went to see why it hadnt been cleaned yet. He was quick to fix the issue and make sure we still got what we needed. Really nice rooms and I would stay here again if I ever come through Salinas again...

Basically checked in and was only in our room for less than a hr and had one family member who didnt have their ID with them at the time and was told to leave by the Salinas PD! And our $75 payment was non refundable due to us have a guest who wasnt checked in. This is pathetic way to do business and hope that they get in trouble for doing this to paying customers!

Horrible!! The bathroom had stray hairs on walls, and shower walls. Holes in the bedspread, torn pillows. The people upstairs must if been tweakers, up all night, walking, dropping items on the floor. Dog barking, also walking around. With the floors not carpeted anymore, could hear the claws as dog walkear Its 5 am, slept a couple hours till 1:30, awake sense. The new design looks stark, and where is the iron!! Motel never was the horrible before, shame. And it was 100.00, ripoff.

Room was still being cleaned after we checked in and drove around the building to our room, so we had to wait outside while they finished cleaning it. When I woke up in the morning there was a HUGE BED BUG crawling on me. Management said they have to investigate before issuing a refund and were not apologetic at all!!! Do not stay here!

Our 5th time there. Convenient stop on way to daughters in Santa Rosa. At first very satisfied. Recently disappointed. Requested downstairs via website reservation with notes. Did not happen. My car was backed in right at my hotel room with my Trek bike secured to the trailer hitch mount at about 3 ft from my room door. The area was well lit and there were two of what turned out to be high res. night capable security cameras within feet of my car covering my car and the immediate area around my room. Despite this, bad guys ignored all this and stole the bike from my car in the middle of night. Hotel has no security guard patrolling area. There was no manager there to review the video recordings. The desk agent that morning really didnt seem to give a care and blew me off with what turned out to be a non-working phone number. In retrospect I should of brought the bike into the room, or better yet, I should simply not have stayed at this motel.

The room was clean and decent enough looking but unfortunately there are homeless people roaming all over Salinas and they came in and helped themselves to one of my bikes while we were sleeping. At least it wasnt a nice bike I guess..... When I called the police someone else had also already reported something stolen. If you have ANYTHING in your car you better bring it to the room, even a $20 half broken bicycle thats got a heavy cable and padlock.Also they provide coffee here but had no cups and nothing to stir it with and then they quickly put it away before I could get a refill. 0/10 would never stay in Salinas ever again, anywhere.

Bad area bunch of hookers and druggies came here on business got harassed and kicked out by by crazy police wannabe. Security guard, banging on room door while I was sleeping to check how many people in the room. The second time banging on door trying to get in he comes with police and forced me out at midnight saying no visitors when I had two beds and double occupancy. Worse place ever police said this is their business practices here at this Motel and recommended me to a terrific new place. Oh did I forget to say two housekeepers male and female entered the room to put fresh towels day 4 and stole two cell phones out the troom when I was gone.Complained to corporate and property management. ..Nothing done no refund...smh

Easy check in. Room was roomy. Did need to be clean more throughly tho. They have security at night, so we felt safe. In n out just half a block away. Plenty of stores and restaurants within a 5min drive. Beds comfortable, flat screen tv, nice sink and a decent bathroom. For $75.00 a night we paid just to sleep and relax it was a good deal.

I had stayed at Motel 6 Salinas many times in the past for short two day stays when it was only $60 a night and not $94 a night. After spending a night at the Hilton San Fransisco Bayfront Hotel for $72 and smooth comfortable sheets, the rough sheets at Motel 6 was a disappointment. Even though the sign said the bed sheets would be changed every three days unless requested before then, my bed sheets were not changed until day 6, one day before my departure.I will not stay there again.

Standard motel 6 experience, maybe a little worse than normal. As good as any other place in the area.If youve ever stayed at a Motel 6, you know what youre in for with this place. The rooms are a little small. The water pressure blows. Ice maker doesnt work and room amenities are sparse to say the least. Standard Motel 6 fare. Where this place differentiates itself from others is the high crime and homeless rates mixed with many street walkers. Apparently its so bad that Johns will hang signs on the windows and the ladies show up delivery style. At least according to security. All of this is a problem for the town as a whole not just limited to the area.

Got the manager checking me in. Clearly the guy cant multi task or knows how to greet a customer. Felt unfriendly from the start like hes used to dealing with crack addicts. Asked for my name which he couldnt find & I had my credit card out to show him how to spell it. He could only check it if I had a real ID. So I had to pull out my drivers license. That processes was painful as he was fully immersed in the touch pad registration system. Its like watching grandpa and his first iPad and cant be bothered. After some time which felt like he finished the first level of GTA5. He asked what kind of cc I wanted to use, which had been on the counters the whole time. I pointed to it and he asked if it was visa or master and requiring that I acknowledged him verbally. I was directed to the chip reader to plug it in, so I did. He kept telling me to plug it in all the way, which I double checked and it was & told him so. Looked like he was frustrated & he tried to shove my card in some more and realized that it was in all the way from his expression. Needless to say, a lot more screen touching, probably solved the second level of GTA5. Now to the license plate for a parking permit, more time and next the door card a lot more time.The parking lot to our room was full of local vagrants hanging out near the fence yelling obscenities. We hurried with our baggages fearing from the Tourettes guy waking up to us as we hurried to the room. Walking up to our room, it felt like people were living here more than staying the night. Doors open & people doing things and hanging in front like an apartment more than a motel. We could hear yelling outside our room. Was worried about the car getting broken into the whole night.Inside the room, dirty floors, dingy looking sheets, small smelly soap, Brillo pad small towels (wash cloth size), musty damp smell in the air, moldy bathroom and woke up to itchy bodies. There was a giant black fly next to my towel, that should had warned me of all the mayhems that was about to come. The toilet screams like a heart broken banshee when you flushed it. It screams at you like you violated it for going number one, not sure what might of happen if I did a number two. The shower had luke warm water, that might be an exaggeration, be prepared for a cold shower. Since I was the last in the shower, I ended up with the pube towel. My towel had 4 giant black pubic hairs on it. So I was reduced to the ever smaller cloth towel.

I got my room key, went upstairs, and key didnt work. I went bank to office and by time I came back, my husband was in the room. A man had been watching TV in there. He had to put the remote back after he answered the door. There was hair in the bed underneath the sheet and bedspread. Dirt on the floor. It was horrible. Trashcans at end of stairs had 3 empty cases of beer, the walkways were littered and dirty.

Now for the one star I paid $155 dollar for a dirty room I went to Wal-Mart and bought bed linens there were cigarette burns in the comforter sunflower seeds in the window track it was dirty. I get it the place is motel 6 but man when you get woke up all night to a door knock every 10 minutes and go look and see drug deals and hookers wow. This place changed once the sun went down. I checked in went to work came back to sleep and the place was full of people doing illegal activity. If they cleaned and had security that walked the place it would be ok. I would say the am front desk lady is a 5 star worker tho.

I lost my bag at your hotel and I ask the employee to help me check for it but they seem like dont want to help me at all. They tell me that they will contact me back but they never do so. Im the one that have to call to keep checking my bag all the time. When I ask them to check the security camera for me, they are not willing to do it. I am very disappoint to the way the employee behave like this to me. I will never sleep at this hotel again and I will tell everybody that I know to not sleep at this hotel because the employee dont willing to help customer at all.

From minute I pulled in driveway thinh s started bad, as I tried to park near check-in office an attendant motioned to me that I could not park there, and instructed me to go park further down lot further from office, Im 75 yrs old with a bab knee. I explained this to attendant but he replied theyll probably give you a room down there anyway. Doubling my walking distance. The bedspread was dirty with many spots. It was a cold night and the heater part of a/c unit was not functioning as I could not turn off cool air fan.

Front desk forgot to give me TV remote upon checkin, had to go buy ice at gas station as machine was not working, our room was not cleaned nor fresh towels put in room on second day of stay. This hotel is not up to the standards of motel 6. Was not able to get internet access as they no longer except AARP. Trash bins were over flowing with trash.
