Room was very clean and nice. Manager was very accommodating. We were traveling back to Alaska. We had a truck and a 15 foot trailer and had no problems parking it where we could keep an eye on it thank you Motel six

I was so happy to see the rooms are clean, the staff was so very nice and accommodating. The room was just big enough for a family of 5 (3 young kids).Nice area and affordable and even though its off the hwy, unless the door is open it is very quiet. This will be my permanent choice of stay when in our passing threw CA.

I think this Motel 6 is the most cleanest Motel 6 Ive ever seen in San Diego North County since 2011 and the manager and the staff at the Carlsbad North are really nice and friendlyThis Motel is Very close to the Adventure cycling Association the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route

Out of All the Motel 6 locations I have visited throughout the U.S.A. this location in Carlsbad is at the top of the list. The rooms are clean and the office is friendly .There are no shady people or creeps .I felt safe with my wife and 3 month old.

Excellent value. Best Motel 6 I have stayed in so far. Welcoming staff. Spacious rooms. Right off of freeway, minimal noise, maybe soundproofed. Dog friendly. No coffee maker or shampoo/conditioner. Convenient snacks and drink machine and ice machine. Definitely recommend. For dog owners, please pick up after your dog!...they even provide poop bags!

Clean and adequate room overall with nice staff. Significant police activity one day prevented us from accessing our room for a while, and we observed a guest leave in handcuffs. The location seemed safe overall. The pool did not appear clean enough for swimming. Motel did not supply shampoo/conditioner, etc, so be sure to bring your own. Small fridge and microwave were available. We ran the fan at night, so the freeway noise did not bother us.

Traveling through for work I got off at 6am and needed a hotel to stay for the week I waited last minute to get one and none wanted to let us in til 3pm but the guy at front desk really helped I got a two bedroom instead of one cause it was the fastest he could do for me! Life saver it was freezing outside!! The rooms are clean non smoking doesn’t smell like smoke either it’s Amazing super nice room set up with microwave, fridge, closet cute two seat table nice little flat screen in it CLEAN BED SHEETS 1000% recommend!

This is where I go when visiting family in Oceanside. Good location. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Remember, this is not a luxury hotel but is a great place for me.I will mention that it is near the freeway so if you are sensitive to noise, you might want to look elsewhere. I wear earplugs when traveling so the noise doesnt bother me at all.

We stayed 3 weeknights in early October and loved the close proximity to the beach, the pool was clean and warm enough to swim in, the room was spacious for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) and having a microwave and fridge was helpful. The rooms were VERY quiet - not just considering that the freeway right there but we also had no issues with hearing our neighbors, people coming/going etc. We were really impressed with how quiet it was. We had one minor issue with our shower head and the staff fixed it immediately.The only thing that stops us giving it 5 stars is that the linens, pillows and towels are pretty old and thin. I mean it’s a Motel 6 so they met our expectation. Honestly, we usually stay in Airbnbs or a bit more expensive of hotels but we were really impressed for the price and will stay here again for a quick beach getaway for sure!

People that run this place are super friendly. Room was clean and no carpet. Super plus since traveling with pets. Room was modern and had mini fridge and microwave. I requested a 1st floor room and they were able to accommodate. Plus they offer doodoo bags to clean up after your pets. How awesome. Beds are clean and comfy. No toiletries except for bar soap. Cute property and tucked in safe neighborhood close to freeway and attractions.

If this place didn’t have a big sign that said motel six on it, I would never know that it was a Motel 6! It is a very nice hotel, Big clean rooms and comfortable beds! The couple that run the place are very friendly as well, and accommodating… I had to check in a few hours early and they rushed my room for me! I would definitely stay here again! (also Great location.. Super close to downtown Carlsbad where they have great food and drinks!)

Good office staff. Nice for the price. Walking distance to the beach for us, we love walks. Being next to the highway isnt bad If you get room in back of complex, pretty convenient location really. Area wasnt run down or bad. Rooms were newly renovated but could be just a little cleaner. If youre on a budget, for the price its hard to beat in the area.

Carlsbad has a lot of Motel 6s for some reason. In my opinion, this is the nicest one. It might be the smallest one, the parking maybe a little tight, the ice machine may be a little out of the way, and the freeway may be a little loud... BUT, all that is nothing compared to how clean and spacious the room was. Plus, the front desk was polite & helpful, the cleaners are friendly, the room even smelt clean. For sure will be staying here again, as well as, suggest it to my family& friends.

Location have to listen to cars on the freeway as if you are sleeping on the freeway plus listen to person above you stomp about n take lots of showers. The TV keeps reloading so it is like watching a show stop skip start some more. I brought my dog; pet friendly but no where to walk her unless in n out of a few planters or risk her getting away n hit by very fast traffic n then you can use the grass just before the entrance. The bed had only two small pillows. Good I brought one. Bed I asked for was a king. Bed I got did not have room for 3 people but rather barely me let alone my dog who sleeps with me. And the desk was missing; just the tell tale phone jack and outlets and light switch. So I set my laptop on the middle of the bed. I have learned to sit gingerly on beds cuz some toss me back off. On the bed, i carefully sit. And sprong my laptop flew off the bed, into wall, n crash to the floor. My laptop destroyed and my documents n pictures irretrievable.I am not that heavy but sat on the toilet and the seat always shifted to the side. Try to flush toilet...nope, dig the toilet paper out, then flush. Need I say more?

Excellent: price, location, immaculate grounds/pool/room, friendly staff and our two bedroom had an office area plus a bath tub! Nick was so nice and very helpful. It is an older property (well maintained) right next to the freeway (our room was very quiet). Safe parking was plentiful. It is between Poinsettia and Carlsbad Village Dr. Within walking distance, just to the north, was a nice family park. Just to the south is a Pie shop with traditional breakfasts and lots of pies.At Poinsettia is a grocery store (Vons?) and a Rite Aid. Drive west past I-5 on ramps to the ocean. Vigiluccis Seafood & Steakhouse with a lively local bar, and a beach parking lot at the start of a cement walkway to the village overlooking the ocean. Our visit was in May while our house was tented for termites, and we have recommended it to our friends for their summer visit.

The check in went well. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Had issues with the shower and after attempting to repair it they moved us to another room. Their website says they offer hard-boiled Eggs for breakfast, they dont. The staff has been very helpful.

Rooms were nice and clean I liked the split room. The sound of traffic wasnt too pleasant but you get used to it. Our fridge had a freezer that didnt keep anything frozen. And the breakfast was always stocked, would have been nice if they had vegan breakfast options haha. But all in all it was okay, I wouldnt mind coming back to this location.

We stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving in 2011. My husband, two five-year-olds and I. We were pleasantly surprised at the convenience of the location, condition and quality of rooms and amenities, and the cheap price! We were visiting Legoland, and went to the beach one day. Overall, I would give this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. It was incredibly clean and seemed well-managed. Each morning we enjoyed the free continental breakfast to get our day started. Maybe we just werent bothered by it, but we didnt notice any highway noise. Plus, we were probably all too exhausted to care about such things. The pool looked very clean and well-kept.Well come back here again anytime!

I stayed here for a week while traveling through California for work. This is the nicest Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. Big room with a refrigerator and microwave. Very comfortable bed. The room was very clean and I felt safe. Very happy with my stay here. I would definitely return when I’m in Carlsbad and I would highly recommend this location.

We have spent the last 3 nights here, and it was way better than i expected! Such a great deal for such a cozy place. We have our 3 children with us, and we have felt completely safe. Rooms are clean. Breakfast was ok. Dont get the suites... the doors are about 2 feet from the freeway so its very loud. Plus the AC unit is in one room.... so one room is freezing and one is warm but they do have a fan to help. Go with the regular rooms.... youll save money, be more comfortable and wont develop hearing problems. Other than that it was perfectly fine for 1 night.

It wasnt a trashy hole in the wall like i was expecting. The rooms feel like youre the first person to ever occupy them . No negative vibe. Other than you could hear the upstairs occupant rolling back and forth on some kind of chair at 6am. Cant imagine why that was necessary or went unchecked.

It was OK, alright. The rooms are rather lackluster. My blow dryer didnt work. In the bathroom, there was minimum towlege, even for two people. In the closet, the clothes hanger situation is kind of odd; instead of your conventional hangers, you got some sort of metal, anti-stealing device set in place that obnoxiously screeches every time you move it. Breakfast was fairly good; you got your cereal, crunchy waffles, pastries, and assorted fruits. My only complaint about the breakfast was that the breakfast room was a closet at best, especially with the entire hotel coming to eat at once. The room is too small, I recommend taking your breakfast to go. Although, considering the price, I would say it was rather good.

The hotel room was pretty clean. It was your average room to stay in. We chose the 2 queen beds and they were pretty comfy. They only had 2 pillows each though. The pool was very nice and fun to swim in. The hotel was right now the street from a very good restaurant that had awesome homemade pies. And it was also only an 8 minutes drive from the beach!!! We stopped here on our way to Legoland. Very nice hotel, quite and simple. The beds are nice the shower was nice. The stay was very good.Only complaint was maybe the breakfast. They didn’t have any eggs or meat. But that’s not even a big deal at all.Also the parking lot is very small. So they have street parking. I was kinda weird about that at first but the street is very slow and quite. So it was all good.

The property is very nice considering the price. Rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and professional from the time we arrived until departure. The free breakfast was great with plenty of options including waffles, cereal, toast and fruit. The coffee could use some improvement though. It tasted like water. Our room had a coffee pot that we didnt use but we ended up grabbing some at Starbucks around the corner. There is a Vons less that a mile away which added to the convenience. Overall great experience and I would higly recommend this hotel.

Friendly concierge, easy check-in/out, and a large clean room for myself and my children. We all slept well in the two queen beds and woke feeling refreshed the next morning after a day at Legoland, but I wish there had been a coffee maker in the room because I didnt want to leave the kids by themselves to go get coffee from the breakfast lounge. Pretty good size room... although we thought we were getting a couple of Queen size beds, they ended up being full sized. The toilet kept making noise all night as if it were filling up. This establishment is adjacent to the freeway, so expect some noise. Other than that, it was decent.

The 2 bdrm suite was less than nice. Carpet was filthy with lrg dark spots throughout. Walls were very dirty. Window screens had holes so bugs constantly came in. Chairs in room were spotty and very dirty. Trash behind cabinet/dresser. Latch lock at front door was loose and bathroom door lock was hard to lock. I expected much better for when a room is listed as a suite. We werent comfortable or happy staying there. I would not recommend this place. Also, smokers area is right by the pool and eating areas where kids and families are assaulted by the cigarette smoke.

The staff is friendly and informative as well as quick. Rooms are large, clean and come with all the things you might need during your stay ie refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The showers and toilets are also very clean! Will definitely stay here again just wish they had a jacuzzi, seeing as the weather is too cold for the non heated pool.

The entire staff works tirelessly to make your experience there the best that it can be! We felt well taken care of and will definitely be back! We had a double queen suite on the ground floor (room 114) and had no issues with noise or anything else for that matter. Happy family overall!

For the category of hotels this one is in (Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Econo Lodge etc.) this one is at the very top, though Id categorize it more as a motel because the doors exit to the outside. The manager was very friendly, the rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. If I were staying in Carlsbad, Id have no problem at all staying in this hotel for a week or more. I definitely plan to return to this hotel if Im in the area again. The continental breakfast offered was very adequate - fruit, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal and more. I didnt feel like I needed to go out for breakfast - its a good value. I think they even have waffle makers. The traffic is somewhat loud but its certainly not a deal-breaker. Im happy I stayed here.

Econo Lodge & Suites is very easily accessible close to the 5 Frwy, not much noise was heard much inside the room. The rooms are are very newly and nicely furnished. Also there is a refrigerator in addition to the microwave and coffee maker. The lodge has a very pleasant Hawaiian look to it. Maybe one of the better value in pricing. Parking is right close to the rooms. Definitely would stay again.

We had booked a few days at this hotel so my family and I could go to Legoland. We were not expecting an amazing hotel for the price we paid, however for the same price we paid, we thought it was actually too much compared to other hotels in the area. Extremely noisy, mainly in the morning, as it is off the highway. The pool looks stained and not inviting at all. The room was okay but the shower needs some work. The water from the shower was literally dripping. There was no pressure whatever. Try not to ask for spare towels as the housekeeper will look like you are asking for money and ask you for your room number right away to make sure she does not provide you with more towels when she eventually cleans your room. Lastly and most importantly, the so-called front desk person - also announced himself as manager - was the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever met at the hotel business. I had canceled the first night because we had missed our flight. We ended up getting there very late but he was nice enough to agree not to charge us for the night - so we thought. He not only charged us for that night but canceled the last night that we were supposed to still be there. He shows up at our door in the morning, knocks on it and tells us in an authoritative way that we had to pay for an extra night. He could have called us, left us a note or do anything but not talk the way he talked to us in the middle of the hallway where others were sleeping. He had no regard for that. He was horrible and unprofessional. When we asked to speak with the manager, he said he was the manager which was a joke and a lie as he had told my husband the first night that the manager was not there. The bottom line, it was not about the money but how the customers are treated so if you do not want to have any issues, STAY AWAY from this hotel.

Our room was disgusting. There was pubic hair and toilet paper in the sink. The floors were filthy. The shower needed to be cleaned. The front desk people were rude and not very helpful. I will not ever stay here again. I would recommend either spending the extra money to stay somewhere clean or getting an air b&b.

We stayed in a suite which was not as advertised, the worst part was the ant infestations on our high chair and a muffin that was left on the dresser. Hard wood floors that are solid and you dont have to walk on egg shells if you are on the second floor. Beautiful bathrooms with marble . Fast internet! Very very nice property. Spider legs on pillowcase, makes me wonder when was the last time everything was really cleaned (especially worrisome considering were in a pandemic); there was people screaming at eachother right outside my door: the authentic Motel 6 experience. I couldnt even stay the night because I felt unsafe/dirty in my room. Staff seemed nice at check-in, but thats the only plus ill give. 👎👎

Nothing to write home about. A good place to stop for a cheap hotel. We like little staycations and if we can save $$ for the fun stuff we do. We have stayed at this location before and it was ok. We decided to go back again because they are generally friendly. On this occasion they had changed a policy and will scan your cc for $100.00 as a hotel security fee. I understand that, as most places do this, but they never have before. As a return customer I found it odd that they actually charged my debit card rather than just taking the card information in the case they might need to charge it later if they found that we had damaged the room in some way. This is usually customary in most hotels. We are very cautious in the rooms we rent and clean up after ourselves, hardly ever even trash to clear out. Nice that they have a breakfast option in the morning. Not sure if this will be our go to spot as there are other hotels nearby that are also reasonable and dont charge you before youve had any issues in the room. Guess thats my take on it.

Location is ideal for Legoland and state beach. Ample parking and good breakfast. For the most part the rooms were clean except for chairs and areas around the bath tub. There was some mold growth around the bath tub, which can be removed by paying a little more attention during cleaning.

I killed about 4 bugs during my 3 night stay, I found a beer bottle cap on the floor that stayed there the whole time even after having maid service twice. As we were putting our stuff inside the room, I dropped something on the bathroom floor and saw hairs fly up. The faucet literally was hanging on by a thread and when we said something about it, it never got fixed. The rooms have recently been remodeled but it smells old and musty. Not a place I would recommend staying at if quality is what you are looking for.

Best econo lodge ever! This econo lodge is like the Kia of cars; burden of econo lodge brand but awesome value. We were on our way to LA but ended up making an unexpected stop here. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Room was equipped with basic amenities like refrigerator, microwave and a hair dryer. No coffee pod in the room though.The breakfast was pretty basic; fruit loops cereals, boiled eggs, pastries, coffee etc. The pastries tasted very dry and stale.All in all this place is a good value but can be great if they could put a coffee pod in the room and up their game on the breakfast front.

We had planned a weekend trip to Legoland and Sea world and booked this hotel since it was near to Legoland.The hotel is good and very near to Legoland. approx 10 min drive to Legoland parking. Hotel itself is very nice and our room was very nice. Spacious with 2 queen beds. Ample space to move around the room. Nice and clean bathrooms.The hotel has a breakfast from 7am till 10am and it was a workable breakfast. Waffles, fruit juice, corn flakes,boiled eggs, bread, fruits and fresh coffee/tea. The breakfast room is a bit small and hence we took the breakfast to our rooms.The hotel does not have elevators and has rooms on 1st floor and 2nd floor. Ours was on the 2nd floor, we had to take one flight of stairs but not too bad since we did not have too many bags to carry.Overall very happy with the stay, Mr Jay the manager was very nice to us during the whole stay.Note: The hotel is just across I-5. You can hear the loud traffic when you are out of your room but in the room its very quiet..you barely hear the interstate traffic.... i was impressed with the quality of good sound proofing they have for the rooms.
