This is the most affordable lodging option in Big Bear. Rooms are small but adequate and decently clean. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave in our room. I also appreciate the hotel being dog friendly. My only complaint is that there were no dog bags. They had a dog trash station that was out of bags, and when I asked the front desk for one they said they didn’t have any. I did find a way to clean up after my dog, but having bags available at a dog friendly hotel would be nice.

Fine experience for one night on the way from Death Valley to San Diego, but wouldnt chose to stay here again. I think the staff is doing everything in their power to provide a positive guest experience, but management has made some decisions not aligned with providing a positive guest experience. The major driver disappointment to my visit was the surprise extra charges required to make my stay most enjoyable: 1) $40 if you arrive before 1:30 and want to check-in early, 2) $20 to park beyond 11am on check-out day (causing parking challenges if trying to ski on your checkout day). The other area I think management has made some poor decisions is around staffing for cleaning. Around 3-4pm, many people were trying to check-in and it was clear there was a backlog in clean rooms causing the staff to rush around and try and figure out what, if any, rooms were clean so they could check-in the guest. Plus, I and others after checking-in had to return to the lobby to get towels. The other complaint I have for this location is that the rooms along the main road were quite noisy (noisy enough that I requested to change rooms, which I VERY VERY rarely do) and even then the room on the other street still had more noise than Id expect or want.

The lady was very nice at check in. We got to the room. Looked nice enough. But there was only one other outlet that was not being used and it was by the door. They didn’t give us any towels, when I called down they told me they had some in the front office. The first night around 7.30pm the TV lost signal, internet went out, and the phone went down. I tried calling with my cell but it always dropped the call saying busy. The next day we turned on the shower and while we were getting ready, it covered the floor in water. Lastly, every time we walked outside there was more dog poop.The best thing about this place was that was right by snow tubing and some good food spots. It was pretty expensive too

Great location. Snow tubing hill directly behind the building. Super friendly staff. Accommodating. Dog friendly. Clean. Only complaint is our bathroom door knob dropped off the door during our stay. Would definitely recommend for the location and fair pricing. We had a great stay here.

I always check all around the room when I check in. The window lock on a ground level room was broken. It had two jankie bumpers drilled into the window sill to keep it from being opened. The water pressure is so strong that it blows the flimsy shower curtain around everywhere, resulting in water almost all the way to the far side of the toilet. A puddle. Not to mention, you can barely turn around in the shower. Its not worth $130 a night. I dont care if its a Friday and October Fest is going on. Im not sure why they feel the need for all the bright lights in the trees where the pool once was. Its past obnoxious when youre trying to sleep. The door didnt seal properly, so get ready for a nice breeze this winter. It was the first building behind the office. Room 27.An October Fest goer knocking on my door at 7a.m. in nothing but a towel was the icing on the cake... never again Motel 6. Never again.

I fully realize this is a Motel 6, so the guest experience and ambiance is already at a low expectation threshold, but this location isnt it. The staff were nice during check-in, but then after that everything kinda went down hill. The room itself is shaby, the toilet seat was nearly fully unscrewed from the toilet, the shower stall was just...weird? The beds were way beyond their point of useful life and should have been depreciated out of usage at this point.Additionally, the door was missing the cross-bar thing for security and the smoke detector was fully missing (pics attached to this review). The exterior of the motel is lit up like Las Vegas, theres so much ultra-bright, crazy accent lighting, security lamps, security cameras, palm tree lights - like it feels like youre in a prison at night, with the crazy lighting in the stark difference to the dark residential vibes the motel is located in, so closing the curtains only sort of blocks out all these lights.There was barely any landscaping when we were there, which hopefully that is re-done at some point as a part of their renovations because the grounds are drab as hell, with trash and debris all over what would have been a nice little courtyard area to walk your pets at. And to cap off our one-night stay, at 10am, we get a crazy knocking on the door and someone trying to let themselves into the room. I finally opened the door to find its an employee trying to get into our room? I told him that we will be checking out at 11am, per their policy - not sure why employees are trying to get into guest rooms before check-out??And as you check-out and leave your room, they pipe-in some weird Muzak music across the grounds, similar to that homeless person deterrent music that some 7/11s and other businesses blast to keep people from loitering. Again - were in Big Bear - is there really that big of a crime/loitering situation at this motel?I dont know, this place just doesnt vibe well with the Big Bear Lake scene and for the price we paid, we definitely shouldve stayed somewhere else. The only pro was that they do allow pets, so we were able to stay with our dog overnight, but going forward, I think camping would have been a more pleasant experience than this Motel 6 location.

Customer service was very good 👍 and room was very clean and up to standards. The parking lot was accessible and well lite. Felt safe after dark. Offered coffee daily from 6-11 am and ice machines and vending machines 24 hours. Will return and recommend.

Although it is being minorly refurbished, I found the staff to be more than capable of finessing my stay. Everyone went out of their way to ensure comfort during trying times. As a note, I stayed here in 2019 and found it to be extremely comfortable and safe. It was during the Winter and I was Warm and Comforted.

WAY exceeded my expectations for a motel. Staying here during workweeks for a summer job and every room Ive been in so far has been clean (mostly, I wouldnt go barefoot in the rooms but besides that 4/5), comfortable (the pillows are better than my own!), and fully furnished with a TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. Service is excellent, staff is friendly and efficient, and the lady even let me and my crew check in early one week. 2-minute drive / 20 minute walk (beautiful boardwalk btw) away from the grocery store, many restaurants, and close to the ski resorts and hiking trails. Free decent wifi too!!Only issue besides slightly dirty floors would be that some of the rooms have door latches that are starting to fall apart and/or make it hard to close/open the doors, but during the course of my stays there has been lots of renovations going on so Im sure thatll be fixed soon 👍🏻 also for those with disabilities affecting motor skills, the lamps may be a bit difficult to turn on/off but otherwise as a whole, 9/10 experience and Im very happy to come back here at the end of a hard work day.

No frills, but a great, inexpensive spot to stay for a trip at Bear Mountain.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They made sure we were settled and comfortable for our stay.The room did have a faint cigarette smoke smell, and the location is very close to a busy street.Overall, I would stay here again for the convenience, price tag, and friendly staff.

I booked 2 rooms with Expedia and the server had my name in the system when I arrived to the Motel. However they still charged me for both rooms and told me the manager would call me. Or something about a temporary charge. Anyway, practically paid 200 per room. Had I not been there my coworkers wouldve been charged out of pocket for a room that was already paid for.

Had to stay a night here due to a major pothole right down the road that took out my tire. Was highly disappointed! Shower floods the floor of the bathroom. Had to dry it up with one of our towels. Exposed outlet above the bathroom sink right next to the shower. Next morning comes we check out before 11 and have someone coming up to bring a tire. They knew the situation and our helping hand was coming from Victorville. The motel started to charge $20 an hour while I’m stuck in their parking lot waiting for a tire. My tire was messed up on a Saturday night so no repair shops in big bear are open until Monday. If it were my business I would not be charging someone in my position $20 an hour while I stand around staring and doing nothing .

A friend and I got here in Dec 2020 around 930pm and there was a crowd in the lobby. One person was cleaning rooms and even by 3am the manager WOULD NOT EVEN LET US TAKE A DIRTY ROOM 😂 kids were sleeping in cars and we tried but our feet were freezing even with the car idling. There was a steady snow about the time we arrived so it was cold and wet everywhere outside. (The photo is my friend Chris brushing his teeth outside at 230am before we attempted sleeping in the car, and you can see the line of people waiting for rooms in the background)By 4am they finally did let us take DIRTY ROOMS THAT WERE AVAILABLE THE WHOLE TIME but called the rooms to collect payment at 5am (I unplugged the phone) it was just the most remarkably awful hotel experience I’ve ever seen. The poor cleaner was trying her best but the manager and front desk person were the most inept and out of touch duo I could even imagine, making the exact opposite of good decisions throughout the entire process. I would have booked anywhere else but the rest of town was booked a week out, and it made me regret not just driving up the morning of like originally planned so hard.

I am very disappointed with the selfishness of this company. Due to the bad roads I have a flat tire from a pothole and was forced to stay a night at this motel. The room was $80 and was not worth a cent. The bathrooms are Designed poorly there was a flooding of the floor. I had to use my towel to clean up the water that was flooding up on the floor because of the poor design of the flat showers and not only that there was an exposed outlet that was right next to the shower right above the mirror in our room in 112 so after that we got our room out checked out and they are trying to force us to pay $20 for every hour. We are stuck in the parking lot because we have no way of moving our vehicle until someone can come through with an insurance company or a friend and they just wanna charge us $20 per hour for doing nothing but standing around and providing poor service. Not to mention, the sink was not even draining right because they did not clean the sink out properly they have left nasty debris which I clearly saw when I had to take the thing off in order to see why it was clogged. Disgusting standards poor service highly recommend go somewhere else. Do not go here and tell these people to stop running business.

It is a basic motel 6. We needed somewhere to stay and this did the trick. There’s no pet fee, of course. The heaters were out so they provided space heaters for us. I do feel like the price is a little high for the quality of room, but I don’t have any complaints. The staff was really kind and nice too!

I never been treated so disrespectfully I showed up at 2 a.m. with my seven-year-old sons got a room and was told I had to leave at 11 a.m. they wouldnt explain to me why I had to leave after being there 9 hours they called the sheriff and for some reason because Im a black man the manager of the hotel kept calling me African I never been treated like that and it was in front of my sons Im definitely calling corporate. But the location of the hotel was in a good area me and my sons got a lot of sightseeing done before we are removed from the property

The manager is terrible. Absolutely no compassion for people in an emergency. Do not stay here if you are having car trouble. My sister and brother in law were stranded on top of the mountain yesterday night (Saturday) when they hit a pot hole and destroyed their tire. They were able to get into the motel parking lot but all the tow shops and tire shops near them were closed and will not open until Monday. They paid for two nights to stay because they couldnt go anywhere, the manager was aware of their situation. They checked out early this afternoon as they had a friend coming to help them get home. The manager then proceeded to charge them $20 an HOUR that they were in the parking lot! My sister had to push her car across an intersection into a gas station parking lot to avoid being charged any more! They were parked correctly out of the way, not bothering anyone, and the guy showed up less than an hour later.

Location was great for hiking, going on the slopes, and grabbing dinner in town. Literally 7 minutes away. The shower is small, but the water pressure was awesome and temp was hot. Worst Motel 6 Ive ever been to. There were no towels and it took two and a half hours to get any. I couldnt call the front desk of course because the phone wasnt working. The floors were so filthy when we would step out of the shower within a few steps our feet would be black. There were so many stains in the room on the bed sheet sand walls it looked like a Jackson Pollock painting.

Very disappointed! We havent been here for about 6 years but back then it was well kept and clean. Wife and I went for a little get-a-way last weekend. Now its much different. First of all the grounds are a mess. Lots if weeds and parking lot has obviously not been repaved in years. Then the room. Floor was dirty in room and bathroom. Possibly not even swept as there was a pill on the floor. Toilet Im hoping was just a stain, but did not look scrubbed. There was no bed spread. There was no fire/ smoke / carbon monoxide detector on the ceiling. Just wires where it was. People, (Im guessing other guests), were loud and in and out all night long. NEVER STAYING THERE AGAIN! This Motel 6 is not what it use to be.

They forced me in a handicapped smoking room instead of a single bed regular non-smoking room. When I got here at 11 PM nobody was at the office and I was calling the main 800 number and then 15 minutes later I saw the office person walk in. I was ready to call my credit card and cancel this transaction but luckily they showed up 15 minutes after I got here and I made a reservation half an hour prior to getting here. The hotel is not too bad except I didn’t get the room that I wanted. I took it because it was July 4th and I knew that it’s going to be hard to get a room somewhere else cause this town was full of tourists. But the rating matches my score 2 stars I say it’s accurate.

Its been the most awful experience in my stays at any hotel ever! The room was really dusty and pets hair all over! I had to clean by myself to feel a little better also bathroom was so smelling like pop that I had to buy a bottle of alcohol to clean up and still had the bad smelling... BED BUGS, BEWARE!!!!!! This place is infested with bedbugs, we had to evacuate the room in 3 hours after checking in!!! Had to seal pack all the clothes that we had!!! Worst stay ever. No fridge, no hair dryer. Two sleepless nights due to non-stop cracking, knocking, rustling that came from somewhere under the ceiling or through the walls. Mice? Neighbors? Aliens? A light switch in the bathroom was constantly buzzing as well. We were denied a room on the first floor because “everything is fully booked” - but you could clearly see that the motel was maybe 20% full. So we had to haul our bikes to the second floor and back. A woman was shouting f words at 7 am speaking on her phone. Staff was so rude and helpless. Arrived 30 minutes earlier before the check in time and they wanted to charge $20 for early checkin. If it was our first time at Big Bear, we would have a very bad impression of the town.

Be sure to look at your credit cards charges a few days after stay. I had duplicate charges for my stay and the manager would not return my calls to remove them. Always use a credit card, not an ATM. In most cases ATM cards do not protect you as a credit card. Sad this is how they treat their customers.

The room was very small. There were long black hairs in the towel. The heater did not have a thermostat and therefore we could not properly set the temperature.The bathroom is large and the shower is too...so that was good. Also, they did not furnish a do not disturb sign so that we could avoid a stranger going into our room while we were gone. They did bring us extra pillows and blankets though. Overall, it was not very clean (walls dirty and not wiped down in a long time and dirt and wrappers behind the dresser and nightstand) but serviceable. No coffee, shampoo, lotion etc...except in a vending machine. The prices were not that much cheaper. The flat screen tv was a nice size and worked well. Well probably not stay there again unless there are not any better choices. I wish we could say it was wonderful but it just wasnt.

Small room. Very clean. No bathtub. Good water temperature and pressure. No real place to hang a hand towel. There is one towel hook on the wall behind the door, a towel rack above the toilet, and the shower safety handle.One nightstand. One table and two hard back chairs. Electrical outlet on the side of the bed with the nightstand. The 2 bed room next to me was unoccupied with the curtain open, so I could easily see that the table in my room was replaced by the 2nd bed. flatter pillows (hard to prop myself up to watch TV) but a pretty comfortable (soft) bed. Intact/unbroken remote control (rare find). Good climate control.The linens were the cleanest Ive seen in a while, in fact, this is the first time I opted not to use my sleep sack since I bought it. The towels were clean, but some of them were stained/worn.They didnt accommodate my ground floor request (which I always put in the notes of the reservation) even though it didnt seem busy- not very many cars in the parking lot. BUT I understand that theres a labor shortage (the lady who checked me in, who was very friendly, also seemed to be helping with housekeeping at 4 p.m.) so they might just not have had a clean room on the bottom floor. ****Dont forget to tip your housekeeper! Its a difficult, disgusting job***Its always a bummer to not be on the ground floor, as going up and down stairs carrying all of my stuff AND every time the dogs need to go outside, isnt really relaxing. Also, my older dog is starting to struggle with stairs.The dog area is the entire dirt courtyard (see pic) and other dirt areas around the property. There is no grass anywhere on the property. In fact, theres very little grass in the town at all. Dog walking station was never serviced during my two night stay (bag dispenser was empty and garbage overflowing). Luckily I always bring my own bags just in case and there were plenty of regular garbage cans available.Quiet, private property- almost completely fenced and I barely heard a sound the whole time I was there.Keep your little pets close....there was a coyote (see pic) on property in broad daylight (okay....6 p.m.).***Please tip your housekeeper- its a physically demanding and filthy job***Unrelated to the motel itself- I was hoping my dog could swim in the lake, but it was really gross. There is a nice dog friendly path not far from the motel at the wildlife preserve. Boulder bay park is a nice, small grassy place to go for a walk also. Dollar tree in town had literally no food other than refrigerated/frozen, and the cashier said its been that way for a couple of months.... so stop for snacks before you come.***UPDATE***- I originally booked for four nights but checked out after two. Apparently they recorded my early check out but didnt refund my card, so after a lengthy phone call (20+ minutes) I have to wait for a check to be mailed to me. I have frequently checked out early at other locations and have never had this problem before.

This was a very nice, stable room for the basics. We always felt warm and the room quiet. Each member of the staff that I worked with was extremely helpful and pleasant. I met the manager, and he was a very friendly, animated person.My only critique is that I thought that there could have been thicker bed sheets on the bed or at least available for ones own use. Also, it would have been nice to have had shampoo provided in the bathroom. Other than that, it was a very sweet deal !

One of the nicest Motel 6 locations I have stayed at. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom very updated. We were on a birding trip to the Big Bear area, so needed a place to sleep and shower, and this location fit the bill perfectly. Quiet, nice TV. Only downside was no refrigerator, shampoo or a hair dryer, but these were not essential to my stay. Arrived at 9:30 pm and was back on the road at 5 am, so having a great place to sleep and shower were the only essentials. While I left before the normal coffee time of 6 am, the person at the front desk told me the coffee was ready and brought me out a cup.

We needed to spend the night up here the day we had a final inspection and walk through of the cabin we now call home. We reserved a room at a very good rate, and accompanied by our little old lady dog had a safe and comfortable nights rest there. The room was very clean and had the essentials. The color scheme used in the rooms is pretty loud. I needed a blow dryer and the front desk person was happy to loan me one. The front desk clerks were the best!

I use to stay all the time, never again. The day girl I think her name is Stephanie, is a darling, she really goes above and beyond. Now the night girl can learn from her. She was very unprofessional, bad attitude expressing how she was aggravated with the manager and hows she ready to walk out. I asked for a bottom floor due to knee surgery. She said when I get you checked in then Ill let you know whats available, very snappy. I got top floor even though for two days I checked out around the hotel and seen the same rooms open. Hotel key didnt work multiple times. Room looked used. No bed spread, just another sheet on top of the blanket and the sheet was bad wrinkled and a few dark streaks, picture, at the front of the bed. Hair in the bathroom & Shower and a big hole in the shower, picture which my little neices didnt want to shower because they just knew the spiders were gonna come in. Another part of the shower if you barely stepped on it it felt to soft. We ended up taking sowers by my friends house. Its went down hill, to sketchy and just dirty. You get what you pay for, never again.

Wasnt awful. After reading some recent reviews we were afraid they would have overbooked the hotel. To our pleasant surprise they did not. We checked in on time and the woman at the front desk was brought in from the San Luis Obispo Motel 6. She was very nice and helpful. The rooms are tiny and the beds are tiny but the hot water worked in the heater worked. It was a functional hotel room for the evening, but I wouldnt recommend staying more than one night. Last note, no coffee in the room, no shampoo or conditioner either.

The hotel was easy to find, and the room was quite clean. The check-in process was quick, and we settled in pretty quickly. However, the amenities were pretty bare-boned, and there was no shampoo or hairdryer. The sheets were a bit dirty. Nothing too bad, would recommend to others for a quick stay!

Its the most basic of rooms, but thats just fine! We just need a simple, clean room to crash in after snowboarding, and this place is right on target for a great price. Weve stayed many times here. Beds are comfy, rooms are nicely remodeled, just enough space for our family of four and gear. Additionally the staff was great when we needed something. My only dings would be: I wish the bathroom light and fan were on separate switches, theres no clock, and the heater fan is loud and takes some experimenting to dial in the right temp.We bring a night light for the bathroom, and a clock, so you can see we like it here and keep coming back!Oh, nice TV and channels.

You get what you pay for. This is the cheapest place in Big Bear. We stayed for 3 nights and each night we had to go back to the office because our keys never worked. They said it was our fault for having them by cell phones...they never were. The bathroom had dried toothpaste spit in the sink and the mattresses were easily the worst hotel mattresses Ive ever experienced. When we first got to our room, the door was propped open and the heater was off. It was in the high 20s outside. It took nearly 12 hours for the heater to make the room comfortable.

The rooms were well decorated and plenty spacious. 1 of the 5 rooms we had smelled a little funny which was most likely from the old days of smoking. The only major complaint i had is that our room was not cleaned very well. The bathroom floors had a collection of hair along the edges and dust in the towel holder. First, the room was not cleaned thoroughly. The wood floor had not been vacuumed or swept, there was actual dirt and dried food droppings on the floor everywhere. The restroom floor had long hair on it as well as pubic hair – both were plentiful and that is disgusting. Secondly, the shower was not clean. We were lucky enough to be able to check in, while the rest of my family were left out in the freezing cold waiting for their room which they reserved for hours just to be told there were no rooms available. This was at 1am! A total disaster as 15+ people were on the same situation. Staff just kept on telling everyone that had reservations that the rooms weren’t clean but there was no staff to clean rooms. At 2am they were left out in their cars to sleep in after paying for a room that wasn’t available. Spend your money elsewhere. They accepted partial payment til the next day when I wouldve been out on the street and it really saved me. Beds are comfy, things are always clean. Ive never found funk anywhere. We didn’t bother asking for additional bedding because of how rude the receptionist was at the front desk with another couple who had a handicapped child they were trying to accomodate. We asked if we could access our room early (around 1) so I could nurse our newborn comfortably and the staff responded with “no” and there was not a comfortable spot in the lobby to do so. This was less than accommodating to our needs. After being moved the new room was just as dirty. I bought a big box of Clorox wipes and cleaned the room from top to bottom myself. I saved them and let the staff know. There was dog hair in both beds and the headboard hadnt been cleaned in months. I wiped the top comforter down and the wipe was black. For reasons beyond this review, we had to find a new place to stay at 2 am. The whole town was completely booked. After calling over two dozen places, of which none had rooms, we called motel 6. They had not one but two rooms available right next to each other (which was how many we needed). They were fairly expensive at almost $200 per room, but thats probably the only reason they had two left. Thats fine. Check out is late, noon, which is even better. They said there were no rooms available for the next day, and they cant let us know or hold them if someone cancels. Call the next morning to see if we can stay the night and they let us know there are still no time available. Then the front desk calls back and said that she say what room we called from and that there were two rooms and she held them for us. The lady at night must have passed the message on. The next day we went to the office to let them know about some extenuating circumstances we had and they were very very accommodating, much more than they needed to be or would be expected. We will absolutely stay here again, thanks motel 6 for saving our weekend.

The price was fine, but maintenance of the room was not very good. the window had a slide lock that was broken and made it very difficult to open or close. the aluminum track was deeply scratched so this was not a new problem. Our initial booking was for a room with 1 queen bed, but it was more like a full bed, we were two full grown adults so we wouldnt fit in just 1 full bed. We went to see if there was anything else available and they moved us to another bedroom with 2 full beds, for the same price. That made the difference and allowed us to actually sleep at night. The bed covers had some cigarette burns on them but overall the room was decent. Definitely overpriced but the season was the main reason for this overly expensive room. Location was fine. We like to spend time in Big Bear occasionally, and Motel 6 is simple, quiet and you cant beat the price. You could pay a lot more for a cutesy cabin or fancy room, but for us, Big Bear is about the outdoors. We would rather be able to spend more time and funds on our experience than on a room. And the rooms are very clean and functional. Only once was it a little noisy, with partiers from Oktoberfest - usually it is quiet, and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The pool is nice in the summertime. Dont worry that the airport is nearby - its not a busy one. Have had many fun family weekends here over the years. EDIT - They took out the pool! : ( I guess they had to, drought was worse in B. Bear, but we had so many happy times in that pool. I remember my hubby joyfully swimming there after recovery from an illness, and my son swimming there, too.

Hello, although the staff was very helpful and accommodating, and we paid top dollar for booking the room on the same day, I couldnt believe that rooms like that would be sold for over 200$/night. The shower water was reversed and kept reversing from cold to hot, throughout our stay, the ceiling in the shower looked like it will collapse, the fan in the shower was popped out and had electrical wires sticking out, blankets were so thin I couldnt get warm all night (I did ask for another one in the morning through), the floors were dirty and dusty under beds, our feet kept getting dirty walking in the room.

But $400!!!! $800 for two nights and to have no amenities and a cold room because the heat didn’t work. They have military discount, I didn’t think to ask so that’s on me, but everything else about this stay was pretty rough. Might be worth just driving a little further away from the resort. Motel 6 is like 14 min away so very convenient. But wayy overpriced for a dirty room, no room cleaning, and no amenities.

Once we got to the room there was not enough pillows and when requested I was told that they ran out than was told they have more but she was the only person there so she couldnt leave the check in desk to get more pillows for us. I did not stay here. We live locally and had an almost 3 year old with us who was in pain because of diarrhea and is potty training. She refused to go in her pants or outside in the grass. Every gas station we passed was closed and we finally stopped here and they were open in the lobby.We begged for our 2 year old to be able to use a restroom and the lobby attendant Ratha was rude and cold and showed zero hospitality and insisted there was no possible way we could use the toilet.While they were under no financial obligation to us as we weren’t overnight guests - for a company based on hospitality, it wouldn’t have been asking that much to let a toddler use even whatever toilet facilities the staff uses or any other toilet.

Will not recommend this place to anyone we stayed a couple nights TV didnt work there was no shower ahead the power went out this last time we stayed there was somebody elses hair all over the pillows the towels the sink and the bed sheets my husband woke up at 4am to bed bugs we spoke to the manager and she said theres nothing that she can do all she could do was give us 30 minutes late check when we spoke to one of the clerks she had said that the room was recently not rented out but the managers told us they did rent that room out. If you do decide to stay because its your last option make sure to check the pillows bed sheets the towels all around everything or just bring in your own blankets pillowsand towels but I suggest to go somewhere else completely. Blue horizon is about $10 more but while worth it they have full kitchen and kids play area. Anything is better than this place

You get what you pay for I guess. Its a place to stay when youre visiting Big Bear. This place needs some big upgrades that are long over due.The TV is pretty dated. They could be bigger, but they went the cheap route. Dish network is awful and it needs to go. The guide button doesnt work on the remote. An option to use Netflix or Amazon Prime would be great, but the WiFi network needs a big upgrade for that to happen.How about a mini fridge and a microwave in each room? Theres more than enough room. Bigger beds would also be nice. Theres no need for a full size when there is more than enough room for a queen size mattress.The deadbolt is completely broken off the door to the room. The door is also not air-tight. There is a slight breeze that comes through, which is not great when its 20 something degrees at night. The heater is also crazy loud.Again, its a cheap place to stay. Probably the cheapest in Big Bear. I hope they upgrade this place one day.

This place was absolutely filthy!!! The floors still had hair and dirt all over them, the bathroom clearly had not been cleaned in over a month! The mold growing in the toilet was nauseating enough, but the cotton balls left on the floor with entangled hair on them. After going to the front desk to complain about it...found out that other patrons had similar issues...one person had been transferred to a second room because of cleanliness only to find urine and other in her toilet...management said they would send someone to clean but no one ever showed up! The heat did not work and we froze our butts off...only a thin quilt on the bed no additional blankets to be had! This place is a inexpensive option for lodging...if you choose to stay here bring lysol, bleach, your own blankets, possibly your own sheets, maybe even a sleeping bag to be safe! Where to start? Upon entering the lobby area to check in, I was met by one of the least hospitable hospitality workers I think Ive ever encountered. Maybe she was having a really bad day but she was not nice. I wanted out of that office as quick as I could get. When we got to our room we discovered that the bathroom hadnt been cleaned. As in, there was someone elses urine on the back of the toilet. Yuck. My husband cleaned it with a hand towel so we could use the toilet. There were someone elses crumbs on the bedspread as well. Also Yuck but not quite as yucky as the first yuck. The controls to the heater were straight out of 1972. There was no way to see what the temp setting was - just had to guess somewhere between warm and cool then woke up in the middle of the night sweating as it never turned off. The walls to the building itself are pretty thin - we were also awoken at about 3 am by some folks out in the courtyard but it sounded like they were stand right outside our door. Due to the combination of noise, lack of temp control and the amazingly hard bed, I got very little sleep which was a drag because we went skiing the next day and it would have been good to actually be rested. Generally not a great experience. We left saying sometimes you really do get what you pay for... and not in a good way.

We were looking forward to our stay here at motel 6. We expected a clean and decent room for the night. However our stay was not so pleasant. We had booked a room a week ahead and when we arrived we were offered a smoking room when we asked for non smoking. When we got into our non smoking room the floors were dirty was crumbs of some sort, there was one towel n 2 of the smallest towels, there was no toilet paper. Which we called from desk atleast 3 times and received no answer resulting in us purchasing toilet paper at anon down the road. The toilet its self was absolutely disgusting. We came to big bear for the Oktoberfest and were excited to have a room close and unfortunately it wasnt a stay we enjoyed. We will no longer stay at a motel 6.

My fiancé and I stayed for the 4th of July weekend from Friday to Sunday and were looking forward to a special weekend but we were very displeased with how our room was. We stayed in room 133. When we entered our room the floor was very dirty, the bed was not made properly, the sheets had someone elses hair on it, the room smelled like cigarettes along with the smoke detector covered with a plastic bag. Also the bathroom door was extremely hard to open because of the door falling apart. We spent most of the time out of the room because of how unhappy we were with the presentation of the room and we barely felt rested with the condition of our queen bed which felt like we were sleeping on straight metal with bugs. The only thing that we felt throughout the night was a comforter separating us from the metal bed frame and we couldnt even sleep comfortably because the bed was gross and we felt bugs biting us until morning. My fiancé and I took pictures and video of the room as soon as we entered it. We asked for another room but was told that they were fully booked and that was the only room they had available for us. We would very much like a full refund of our booking please because of how poor our room was. We will not be staying at motel 6 (this one and any other branch) again.

We stayed there when it snowed up on Big Bear. We didnt plan to there overnight but they wouldnt let us drive down the mountain without chains. We were thrilled to be able to get a room there and very thankful. The room was clean and tidy and the pillows were A+. We slept well. I give it four out five only because no breakfast just coffee and the 800 reservationist told us incorrectly that checkout was at 12noon, but we were told on arrival that it was 11am. Otherwise an excellent stay and thanks again. We enjoyed seeing other travelers kids make snowmen in the middle area. Everyone was taking lots of snow pictures including us. Oh and we paid $299 which was more than usual but well worth it. We would have been forced to stay in our car if we hadnt gotten that room. The heat took awhile to catch up, but it was extremely cold out. Very thankful!

I would be lying if I said I had a great experience. The small rooms were dirty, especially the beds. They looked as though the sheets werent washed there were crumbs hair and dirt marks on them. I had to go downstairs and ask if someone couldnt fix this problem and was told that I could either wait 45 minutes for the next guy to get on his shift and come up and make the bed or they could hand me a stack of sheets and have me do it myself. Since I had to wake up at 4:30 in the morning for the dirt bike ride, I opted to just take the sheets and do it myself at about 11:45 at night. As I moved the bed over to to put on fresh sheets, I couldnt help but notice all of the dust bunnies behind the bed and nightstand. I was also surprised that they do not offer shampoo conditioner toothpaste toothbrushes lotion pretty much anything that has always been available at every other hotel that Ive ever stayed at. The toilet also looked pretty dirty. On top of all of this, I heard a very loud barking dog in the room right next door to mine. It was so loud that I had to call the front desk to ask them to try and get the dog to quiet down. I love dogs and have no problems with them staying at the hotel but the amount of barking was unacceptable. It was so loud that every time I heard it I jumped up out of bed. This was probably due to the fact that next door was joined by a door between them so every time somebody walked down the hall or the dog heard something he would let out a really loud bark. So I basically got about 2 hours of sleep that night before the most grueling Dual Sport Dirt ride Ive ever attempted in my life. I know for a fact that this had affected the day because I was not feeling my best and was not able to complete the ride and not even come close to completing the ride. I love big bear and cant wait to come back and try to do this right again however I dont know if I would want the risk of having a terrible night of sleep right before a very hard and demanding ride. For the amount I paid for the two nights, I definitely do not feel it was a good value.

There is no where near the cleaning staff needed. You also dont offer Do Not Disturb signs. Great for a quick last minute overnight stay for skiing for a reasonable price. Room was clean but no shampoo or conditioner, no hair dryer (we asked at front desk and the lady said they were all taken or not returned). So bring necessities and a hair dryer if you need one. We also brought sleeping bags which are absolutely needed in winter since the blankets are very thin, windows are single pane and no insulation at the door. Room had a bit of a musty/smokey smell even though designated non-smoking. It didnt bother us much since we just wanted a place to crash before getting up early next day for skiing. Revising my review.I stayed here again and the room I had this time was disgusting. Throw up on the walls in the bathroom and mold on the clips in the shower curtain. Another room with no air. Front staff was great but place was sold out and I could not get another room.Clean beds to lay your head is about all you get and the pricing for what you get on a weekend is outrageous, but you are paying for the convenience of being able to walk across the street to Octoberfest. The air does not work in any of the rooms. It just gives you white noise and false sence that it might cool down. Now that I know there is a shuttle that will take you to other locations for free, we will rent a cabin for the same price next time.

So all in all this one really shocked me that they would rent that room out its gross and everyother motel6 Ive been two has been great even smoking rooms. Couldnt even open window to airout room was bolted closed on the bottom floor if want to open my window to my room that i paid fo I should be able to especially it being a smoking room. Will never go back to that motel 6 again because that was pretty messed up to rent that out wished they had told me they had nothing left and went somewhere else which shows how bad it was.I work construction and am used to using a porter potty daily they clean and disenfect those things more better then that room . Like all Motel 6s, you are getting a relatively inexpensive room with few amenities, but thats fine with me. When I visit Big Bear I could care less about staying in a fancy place. I just want a place to sleep that is clean. The Big Bear Motel 6 was a nice place to stay. Wednesdays there is even a Farmers Market across the street. I am hyper sensitive to cigarette smoke and most cleaning chemicals. I usually have to go to hospital if I stay in a place that has been smoked in, I refused to stay there based on my health issues. Front staff was very unprofessional and rude to me when I was explaining my health issues. Totally unconcerned for your guests well being. I need a refund ASAP for 87.82. Because I was unable to stay there and it was so late I had to sleep in my car. Totally unacceptable.

The room was really basic and simple but everything worked which was great. The location was great because of how close it was to Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. The room was clean and had a TV and a decent amount of space. The room we had was 2 doubles which wasnt large enough for 4 guys but the room was big enough for an additional air bed. Parking was scare but that was because of the weather and the snow. I would stay there again.

The room smelled pretty bad. Like a mixture between a bon fire and dirty feet. It was 40 degrees and I still had the window and door open to air it out. Didnt help. Had 2 pillows for 3 people. Asked for more and they didnt have any. The sheets were rough, bed hard and pillows flat. Table was dirty with crumbs. Would definitely never stay there again. The one great thing is that it is right next to snow play which is why we made the trip. Next time I would easily be willing to fork out a couple hundred extra to stay just about anywhere else.

Was in Big Bear for work. After attempting to check-in for my reservation at Motel 6, I was told there was no rooms open but to come back in 30 minutes. Came back a couple hours after and received a room. Front Desk was pleasant and nice to talk to although I didnt ask for much besides key card and wifi. I read online reviews of this Motel 6 beforehand and read that it could be cleaner here. Once I entered my room I found that to be true. After inspecting the bed there were strange stains and hair on the sheets. The motel was overall modern looking, premium wifi worked well enough, and front desk was nice to me. Only thing was that it wasnt clean enough which seems like an easy fix.

Plenty of hotels offered coffee and other (still)advertised amenities during the whole covid times I can assure you from experience. Rooms are small and beds not comfortable/lumpy, a couple of sheets/one blanket only. Hard uncomfortable bare wood chairs, no real closet, limited usable outlets etc. Included in the room price Wifi worked, 125kb/s max, not sure if it would go lower during high occupancy. Parking no problems for regular autos. It does get pretty noisy from the road and people outside even with earplugs. We generally felt safe here, I dont think there are any outside cameras. No way to crack windows either. If you are in the area for a night or two and want the most reasonable hotel/abnb price for sleeping/showering only then go for this. 3/5

The people were great. The room was clean.The lobby has ice and a place to sit but it was uncomfortable and humming. A better shared space or community space would be nice.Also, I really hate those shelves with circles in them at motel sixes; they waste space and make the rolled up towels stick out at eye level. theyre just dumb.I appreciate motel six for being affordable, accepting pets, and easy phone reservations. However, some are nicer than others. The one on Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa is conveniently located but the office staff is all Arabic/Muslim men who denigrate women.The Big Bear Motel Six is completely better because the peole are genuine.

Disgusting and definitively not worth the almost 200 bucks which included a 4.99-fee for premium internet. I was barely able to watch youtube. First, I used to recommend the Big Bear Motel 6 as one of my favorites. But this visit changed all that. When I arrived at my room shortly after 11 PM, there was a couple parked and sitting in their vehicle just outside the door to my room, and they appeared to be texting. They were still there when I made my last trip to the car and back. I called the front desk and asked, “Is there a reason there’s a couple sitting in their vehicle right outside my room door?” She didn’t know of one but offered to go check it out. Whether or not she did, I have no idea, but a while later, I opened the door to check, and the car was gone. However, just when I’d closed the door, walked across the room and turned back to look, the window drape at the corner was pushed inward, whether by a person or the breeze I don’t know, but it sure startled me. I walked over and yanked the drape back and discovered someone had the screen hanging by a thread and the window all the way open. Now there’s a contraption on that window frame to prevent someone from opening the window all the way, but someone had intentionally lifted that window pane up and over that blockage and had either entered the room or were planning to. I knew no one was in the room because I’d already checked it out before bringing my bags in. But I didn’t have a clue if there were plans. I slammed the window shut, making sure it was locked, set all the door locks, and headed to bed as I was totally exhausted after a difficult day. I slept OK, but woke frequently, somewhat on edge. When I finally got out of bed, showered and dressed, I packed up all of my stuff to check out because my next 2 nights would not be spent there! Those nights would just be worse as Oktoberfest was planned across the highway and the motel was expecting a full house of revelers. No thanks, Motel 6!And while I’m complaining, I really feel like your minimalist approach to overnight accommodations is not serving your customers or your business well. Oh, your bank account may look better, but your customers are not as happy. I was disappointed with the cleanliness as well. I wore my socks the entire time. Small maintenance items needed attention. My take was: Motel 6 Big Bear needs a new manager, one who appreciates travelers.

Honestly you get what you pay for. We paid $58.00 for one night non-smoking room. As soon as we walked into the room, it smelled like an old ash tray. It smelled like I just walked into a casino. I can only imagine what the smoking rooms smell like. I had to buy a candle and air fresheners to mask the smell. There were cigarette burns on the bedding of a non-smoking room. The standup shower was dirty. The shelves that hold the towels were dusty. I will not be going back. I would rather sleep in my car.

I didnt book a reservation because I didnt expect to pay the $90 per night for a room. I didnt realize there was a running event that weekend so I was shocked when I learned that a room for, in this case, one occupant was $164 per night. As a senior, and feeling like I had no options, I booked two nights at that rate. Twice in two days the shower didnt work because the head was blocked with debris, so for two mornings I didnt get a shower. After complaining to the manager of these conditions and the related costs, she allowed me to stay on Sunday night for free. It was gracious and, despite the issues with the shower, and blaming myself for not doing better research, I left very satisfied with the room and the service and I would definitely stay there again. Handicapped room was not cleaned from the previous guest stay. Bathroom floors all dirty we had to put towels on the floor from how dirty it was. Bed had crumms on sheets and in the morning ants by the wastebasket. I took photos of what this room looked like. Gross overall. Asking for a full refund would probably be like pulling teeth. But I will post the pictures of the room if I dont get some kind of compensation. We always look for Motel 6 as our stay of preference. When we were in Utah last Nivember we had a great experience that we are staying there again in November. But the one in Big Bear Calif never again. Would never recommend this location to anyone. The information at Hotel.com says its an unit with bathtub and theres no bathtub. The heater takes a huge amount of time to actually heat and the suite is so dirty that me and my wife got out the next day with a sore through and running noses. Rooms looked great and were very clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful (she gave us a map and local events of Big Bear). The best part was that the lobby was open for 24 hours so you could get up anytime you want to get a drink/snack from the vending machines. The lobby also had a microwave and every morning, there was free coffee!For anyone who is going to Big Bear, I highly recommend going to the zoo; the Timber Wolves are gorgeous!

Not such a Merry stay. We stayed for 2 nights visiting family for Christmas holiday. We had an issue with the toilet bowl handle not flushing, the wifi AND found bed bugs. Brought it to the person at the front desk and she did NOTHING to accommodate us, we thought a free night stay, a free night or discount on a future visit or at the very least a discount on our 2 night stay of $200 a night (for a Motel 6) but NOTHING, she barely said sorry when my husband suggested having the room fumigated as we were leaving. It was very busy with people checking out being Christmas Holiday weekend and we could have made a real stink and scene. VERY disappointed!!

Booked online and was shocked at the accommodations for the rates. Granite it did snow but there was no sort of plan to remove snow from walkways or stairwells making it dangerous not only for me carrying luggage but my kids as well. Also had loud and unruly neighbors. Being in big bear I can understand why the floors are mostly laminate but when you track in snow (because nothing was done to remove it) and only have 2 towels to shower with there is no choice but to have wet floors and socks....

Check in staff were friendly and efficient. Room was tiny, both beds were up against the wall so you could only access the beds on one side. The room was muggy (no AC?!!) and smelled of urin. I had to go to the store and buy fabreze to stand it. Also ended up paying $45 per night more than the advertised price because I booked with Travelocity, which I won’t ever do again. Worst part is the pool was “closed for winter”? We were there on July 6-8!!! Very disappointed. Will not return!

Upon check in the first room had urine and pubic hair on the toilet, the bed was made but the sheets had not been changed and the bedspread was stained. The second room had not been cleaned at all the beds were used and had not been made. The third room was cleaned but the bedspreads were heavily stained, the pillows were stained and discolored. I had to put a towel over the pillow to use it. I have stayed at Motel 6s across the country many times before. This was the most expensive and least cared for property I have seen. Very disappointed.

For the last 15+ years Ive loyally made my stay at Motel 6 in Big Bear during snowboarding season. Ive always had good service up until my last stay. The room was poorly swept prior to my arrival and no room service was provided following the first night of my stay. At 7pm, I asked the front desk why I did not receive room service. She stated that housekeeping was STILL in the process of servicing rooms. Nonetheless, they never came. Long hairs found all over the floor and bathroom from the previous tenants.I would still recommend this Motel 6, but only in hopes that this poor service was an anomaly.

We arrived to check in to a room that my brother purchased through Booking.com and we were not allowed to stay in because the room was in his name and not in ours. My brother is in the Navy and was unable to use the room. To add to the disappointment we had no choice but to purchase another room. The room door wouldn’t lock( my kids could open it). We tried to secure the door from the inside with the latch and it broke. Brittle metal broke. The heater worked and it had hot water in the shower that’s about the best of it.

Only room available was a smoking that smelled like cigarettes and vomit and that is with a reservation. Burn holes on the bed spread, mold on the shower curtain, stains on the sheets. The staff just made excuses, the manager left their coworker alone when the line waiting grew 7 people deep. It is a roof, a bed, and a shower. Only come if there is nothing else you can afford.

Overall I would say that the Big Bear Motel 6 is an excellent place to stay. The staff is all very friendly and eager to serve. There was one minor problem and that was with the bathroom door in my room, #133, it stuck. But sine it was just me, I actually did not have to use at all during my stay. I would, though, recommend that the door is repaired, if it can be. Thank you for a quiet stay. Very restful. Just thank you for helping to make my time at Big Bear Lake a very satisfying time.

I had to change my original reservation at the last minute, because I had the dates mixed up. As a result, I corrected my reservation a couple of days before my visit.The problem was with the room itself. I got to the hotel and checked in, and unfortunately got the only room left, a SMOKING/ADA room. The room smelled like an ashtray. As a former smoker, I can honestly say it smelled SO bad I went back to double check to make sure no other room were available. Sadly there were not.I went back to the room, opened the door wide open (16 degrees outside) for a few minutes to try to get rid of some of the smell. It lessened, but was evident in the heat/AC to the point that it was all I could do to keep from going to sleep out in the car for the night instead. Had to grit my teeth and do my best to get through the night.Additionally, teh bathroom reminded me of a dirty gas station bathroom. the shower was dirty, the toilet was dirty and I put towels on teh floor so i wouldnt have to step on the floor.i admit, partially my fault for the incorrect reservation and last minute change. which probably forced me into the last room available. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed given my recent, frequent stays at motel6.

The room I was in was dirty. The bathroom smelled like pee. And the floors look like they hadnt been cleaned in a while. I love Motel 6 but this was the first time I had ever seen one like this. I was really shocked. I dont think I will be going back to this one. But big bear was awesome
