AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. The first room they tried to assign us was possibly missing an entire front window, ac unit was destroyed and it was hotter in the room than outside and it was 102 degrees that day. The room we were moved to had burned holes in the bedding, and burned desktop from what I can only imagine was from cooking. The air filter was literally dripping with dust particle clumps. They did not have hot water in the entire building and failed to tell us at time of check in. Apparently it had gone out the day before and they were still waiting to her back from someone? Not really an acceptable excuse, and why fail to inform your prospective guests?? We left 6 hours later when my husband walked into the bathroom to find roaches everywhere. I’m still waiting to hear back from corporate on the report I filed. We’ve always used motel 6 due to they are pet friendly and usually fairly well maintained for a reasonable price. We will never used them going forward for any out of town accommodations. When you’re calling corporate to inform them of the condition of your rooms and your they say “eww, if it was me, I wouldn’t stay there” - that says something.

Our room was dirty. There were no toiletries, including toilet paper until we asked for a roll. There was only coffee, no breakfast. To add to the experience the ac was broken so our room was hot and we had to open the window which let in the smell of the garbage stored below and we were awakened by our neighbors conversation. Do not recommend.

Unfortunately this place is trapped in a rift between time and space ! Hot ! Dry ! Old, sad running down hill building with a lack luster dead plant property. Old wall thermostat that is barely working, is warm inside my crumbling room . The maid was still inside my damp room, with her very small young children with her . One child inside the cart in dirty laundry sleeping in the 90 degrees outside! The other child sitting outside the door while she cleaned ! Very sad . Over price is an understatement, we truly wanted their 2 stars to be an overstatement but no . This place probably should just be closed down. Thanks for letting me share my experience, hopefully no one else has to suffer!!!

Very disappointed with the two night stay in order to attend an event in San Luis Obispo. Location is ideal; the only good thing! Shower curtain lacking enough hooks to keep water in stall; air conditions and fan basically not functioning; couldn’t access promoted free WiFi; problem with key access cards working; in room phone not working. Staff was pleasant, but seemed unconcerned about problems pointed out to them. Our group had 3 rooms for two nights; two groups left after one night with a one night refund after also experiencing the problems stated above.Post Script: 6/20/24; Manager Amy personally phoned after reading my Motel 6 survey request response. Apparently the property has recently changed ownership and plans are underway to make sure basic housekeeping and maintenance needs are addressed. Thank you, Amy, for personally reaching out and providing some compensation for a frustrating visit. Wishing you good future recommendations!

Ive stayed at several Motel 6 locations on my travels. My daughter and I stayed at this location last night. I must say the gentleman that checked us in was super nice and Im sure embarrassed as was I for having to return so many times. We first had to move rooms because the TV didnt work, the shower was dirty, there was water all over the bathroom. We moved then I had to go back because the heat didnt work. Thank God we had a comforter we brought. When we went to say something about the heat they gave us a small heater. This heater did not work so we went again and they gave us another heater. Also didnt work. This makes 4 times we had to go to the office in the first 30 minutes. I paid 100 dollars for a 1 night stay. Very very disappointed with this location. Staff was nice manager did not appear to be nice at all. My daughter went to make change so she could get something from the vending machine. Not only could we not get change for a 10 dollar bill my daughter came back saying how sorry she felt for the staff having to work for someone like her. All in all we can do better here Motel 6. Im moving on now lets hope the next location is better :( we woke up to a black widow staring at us above the headboard eeeeeek

Our last stay at this location was 06/06/2024. We had just driven about 1k miles and had stayed here on multiple occasions. Considering they are pet friendly and kids stay free its an ok place to stay. However once we got to our room we all very much wanted a shower. It was sweltering from a heatwave. The AC was not working, instead only heat. But we opened the window and door. The kids needed to shower first as they needed to go to bed. The toddler kept complaining the water wasnt getting warm. So we rushed their showers and got them ready for bed. We went to shower and realized there was no hot water. Tried to call the front desk and the phone wasnt working either.We went to the front desk to inform them the water wasnt hot and they told us they turn the water heater off at not we should have been told. They claimed nothing could be done.From 4-7am we periodically checked to see if there was hot water as we had appts and still needed a shower from our trip. They then informed us they would contact maintenance. We kindly asked for a refund and were also told that couldnt happen because there was no one there at the time to do so.

I do not expect much from Motel 6, just an easy access and clean room while you need to rest for a few hours. I stay in several of those in California. Motel 6 in Atascadero was by far the worst condition I found myself in late last night. Seriously overpriced $190 for a very dirty room. Not only in the bad condition but dirty bathroom tub and toilet seat, ripped and stained bedsheets and window curtain . Furnitures and floor evidently not clean after the last visitors. Fresh fruit stain on the counter and floor ( I hope that was a fruit 😬). I could go on and on, but you got the picture. Oh and per recommendation of nice and welcoming night shift stuff lady, you definitely do not want to say in the room at the back of the motel. I drove by and was grateful that she switch us closer to the office.If I could give negative starts I will definitely do that for a cleanness of the room.

If I can give zero stars I would but this hotel is a joke. The moment I got there there were people outside complaining that the AC didnt work. I immediately canceled the reservation. I had a conversation with the locals and they stated that the AC hasnt worked there in a long time. I had friends staying in the other rooms and they had roaches in them. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!

Edit: they have refunded us for this stay and the AC and hot water are fixed.The air conditioning is broken, it was almost 100 today and they didnt mention the AC was out until after weve checked in and gotten to the room. But for good news there is no hot water so that helps with the extremely hot room

You get what you pay for. The few staff we spoke with were very nice. It wasnt always easy to find the front desk clerk, though. Rooms were decent if a bit abused. We stayed for 2 nights with no noise or other issues. Several of the staff members are obviously heavy smokers since they walk around all day with lit cigarettes in their mouths. Overall, for the price we paid, it was just what we expected.

I am a medical traveler, coming into a new area without any previous knowledge of the community can be a bit daunting, to say the least. Motel 6 has always been a easy, efficient establishment to call home for a couple weeks until I find permanent quarters. There are always issues that come up with ANY motel or hotel, regardless of price. What is important is how they are handled. At Motel 6, Atascadero, California, the general manager Amy Golden is the type of GM that helps a place to succeed! She was very attentive to my concerns and a warm, engaging human being who is no stranger to managing this property. She would be a fantastic GM at ANY hotel she would manage. Thank you Amy, and thank you Motel 6 for always being the stand-by place to help me get rested in between assignments.

The staff is really nice and the ladies that came in to clean the room did a really good job. But when I got the room, there were no heat and air. I froze to death the first night I was there it got down in the 30s. Someone got me a little tiny electric heater which did keep me warm but if I turned on the microwave while I was using it it kicked the breaker in the TV and everything went off. Lol I’m not kidding you can’t make this stuff up but the staff made it worth staying because they were super nice, all of them every single one of them.

Room needed lots of maintenance. Some conditions were unsafe. Electrical outlets and plumbing. TV had bright dots all over it. Door had been broken into before. Shower leaked. Bathroom plug was melted and burnt.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, AND HEADACHES!!0/10 all across the board.This motel 6 looks like its in the ghetto with punched out windows, and cardboard over a couple windows. We shouldve taken that as a sign and left. We arrived to check in and no one was in the lobby, but had a post it on a sign saying to call this number. Upon calling, I was met with Ashley who was brand new and had issues getting the keys to work and needed someone elses help logging into the system. I didnt catch her name, but she stated she was new, but had been there a couple of weeks longer. They put us in 201, the room right above the lobby. Upon waking in, it was very obvious that the AC didnt work and we quickly discovered a punched out window and no hot water. We were assigned a different room, Room 244, and ran into a guest along the way that was previously assigned room 201 who had also been reassigned due to the same issues. Walking in to 244 felt cooler, but it was quickly apparent that this window was also punched out, that AC also didnt work, and once again-Zero hot water, no matter how long we left the shower and sink running! We ended up making a new reservation in a nearby city, and checking out after 2 nights. We were hesitant to stay the second night in Atascadero as it was closer to our event the next day, but still checked out 5 nights early! We made sure that we were packed up and checking out well before the 11am check out time! I handed my key to Able, who has been the nicest person so far that we talked to and the longest employee of 4 months at the time. He is great, 8/10 for Able. I handed him my keys, explained we were checking out early and are requesting a refund. He told me he could get fired for doing a refund but to either wait 1hour+ for the manager Amy or to leave a message on a post it note and shed put the refund in that night. I have called every day either leaving more messages with front desk staff or had sent an SMS message with my number (as their mailbox is full). Yesterday, I was actually put on hold while Able tried to hand Amy the phone. She refused. I explained my situation to Able-left multiple messages for a manager to call me to have heard nothing back, puts me on a brief hold and he tried calling her. She had stepped out to go to the bank but guaranteed me she would call me as soon as she got back yesterday. Lo and behold, no phone call. Here we are almost a week later and I still havent heard anything from Amy, left a 7th message with the front desk staff, and decided enough is enough. I called the corporate number for Motel 6 and talked to Tammy. Shes the sweetest person youd ever talk to and when dealing with this situation which is incredibly stressful, the person we need to get things rolling. She made me feel heard and was apologetic for our experience. She also pointed out that they dont have us checking out on the 7th, but the 12th and therefore wouldnt be eligible (without proof of a different reservation) for a refund. Tammy sent out an email to Amy and she has 5 days to respond to the email or face fines and possibly legal proceedings. If youre still considering Motel 6 in Atascadero, please consider instead Motel 6 (either North or South) in San Luis Obispo. Much nicer staff, working AC, and hot water!

!!BED BUGS!!, !!ROACHES!!, !!ATTITUDES OH MY!!Horrible treatment from management. Many rooms have bed bugs and get rented out. The manager is rude and very unprofessional. Rooms smell like cigarettes because the manager smokes cigarettes constantly, she goes into rooms to do cleaning, and she is smoking cigarettes. She talks to guests and sparks cigarettes and smokes with the smoke going into peoples faces.The rooms have no working heater, no working air conditioning..the mattresses are bloody and full of what we we assume are are cigarette burns.There was also flooding above us. We were moved to another room. We did not get compensation for toilet water filling up our room over night and we were yelled at for not cleaning up the room after the flooding.We tried talking to corporate, and they told us to talk to the owner. The owner never got back to us. Housekeeping is being mistreated and yelled at by the manager.Motel 6 in atascadero used to be a place with friendly staff until Amy became manager and let the property go down the drain.Never going back here again. This was a horrible experience and nowwe have bed bugs. Thanks Amy..

The lobby smelled like mildew. The blonde lady that checked us in was nice. The room was dirty. Curtains had “spit” aka YOU KNOW WHAT 😂 The pillows were hella thin and they only supply you with two. It’s only 100$ so I was not expecting much. It looks scary but I parked near the front office and didn’t hear any shenanigans at night. 5 stars for location because it’s right off 101 and near Starbucks and jack in the box

What can I say, its a Motel 6. The room was clean and odor free. The hotel is pet friendly.The room was very basic. There are a couple of chairs, a table, stocked with 2 sets of towels along with a floor towel, a luggage rack, accessible hangers, some plastic cups, sufficient to use the room for an overnight stay.The room was cold since the central heating system was broken. The front desk did provide us with a space heater so we were kept warm. Also they provided some extra blankets just in case.They also helped with a hair dryer since I didnt pack one.We stayed for two nights. There is no room service of any kind so the bed or linen were not made or changed. But hey, for the price, Im good.The place has plenty of parking. It is very easy to get to. The entrance is on Camino Real, next to the do-it-yourself store Miners, about 50 feet from the signal light.

This place is terrible, I would avoid booking at all cost. Had read a couple of reviews after we booked this for a quick stay and thought we would check it out and it couldnt be that bad. We arrived and there was so much going on. People were sprawled out all over the place in the parking lot and many with the doors to their rooms open. Our rooms werent ready for almost an hour. During this time we observed many people coming and going, definitely an unusual amount of activity going on here. Once we saw the first room we decided to leave. Upon entering I felt like I was in a mental hospital or prison. The floor was sticky and not clean. Various things in the room were damaged in disrepair. The bathroom did look like something out of a prison, there was a bottle opener attached to the sink. The one small full size bed was right near the door that didnt seal and you could hear all the traffic and people walking by, as this room was near the office. I understand this is not a 5 star place but the state of the rooms here was unacceptable. We were only offered 30% back for the 1st night but did get a refund a full refund for the second night. We had not even brought a bag or anything into the room, simply looked inside and saw there was no way we were staying there. The person at the desk was helpful and polite. Seems like this is a common occurrence at this hotel. There are several other hotels in the area and although they may cost a little bit more they are 100% worth it.

I am writing this review to provide critique and effort to fix anything that may be fixable we came to this location as the other hotel would not take cash and I did not have enough in my card. We got a room with a queen bed. It was a basic room. Cleanliness was fair. There was no refrigerator, which was slightly inconvenient when you want to have cold drinks I spotted a roach across the floor and every time the toilet would flush there was odd noise in the bathroom that kept going for a while, but rather than all of that, I am unsure of what exactly goes on at this location Motel 6, but just in case, anybody else has been through it I would like to give a review. The lady next to us appear to have been possibly homeless and staying there. I am unsure that is besides the point, but when I went to the car late at night there was a man parked in a pick up truck and he saw me and started following me. I know that could’ve been a random thing but it was like he made a beeline towards me like my husband saw it and came down. I don’t know what his plans were but his emotions were focused just in case there is any kind of sexual trafficking activity, or anyone else has been through it. My daughter booked a room and her bed had bed bugs. She called and went to the office at 2 in the morning and was unable to get any kind of service. She slept in her car and in the morning at 8:30 went to the office and the female working the counter was no help and didnt show my daughters any compassion. I booked through priceline and could not see a check in time but drove over 5 hours for my friends wedding. We arrived early and I was informed check in wasnt until 3pm. I was supposed to be at a wedding by that time. Cody was more than accommodating and got a room ready for me asap. Great service and the room was just fine for the price.

They were friendly, but the room was way over priced considering the massive shortcomings.-We reserved a nonsmoking room a week ahead of time, but were still offered a smoking room at checkin because the only room available was uninhabitable.-the AC didnt work, the toilet was plugged and there was vomit on the shower floor. Maintance came by and unplugged the toilet.-There were oriental cockroaches (waterbug) in the room and all of these factors made my wife cry herself to sleep

So, honestly, I do not like leaving bad reviews. However..I worked for Black Butte Ranch cleaning multi-million dollar vacation homes, ran an adult foster care, and KNOW how to treat people. This is not even in the same universe and I am disgusted to the core.-my 12 year old kid found marijuana under HER bed when getting my dogs ball.-I lost over $60 in frozen and fresh food due to a refrigerator breaking at night and slipped on the mess it made and smacked my face- I have a black dog and there was CAT and other colored dog hair under the “clean towels” where they were placed.(pictured below day one and then day 7 showing NO cleaning)-I was told I had to wait for clean towels to replace the ones covered in animal hair and even a few human.-the manager dismissed the DRUGS my child found and also was snappy at her for calling to ask for toilet paper today.- I went downstairs to clarify why we couldn’t have toilet paper today, Then told me there was “a mandatory cleaning every 3 days” which seemed random and retaliatory considering I have been cleaning this room myself AND have been no issueAll the negative aside, the front desk staff are DELIGHTFUL, the pool is clean as can be, well maintained OUTDOORS. The front desk staff is clearly uncomfortable with their own manager, and I hope with everything inside of me, she doesn’t treat them the way she did my child and myself.I am here to escape DV and feel unsafe and terribly disrespected to my core. The entire staff including the manager are aware of that, AND the traumatic brain injury that caused multiple brain surgeries and that I am on a no stress order.EDIT: 10/05/2023 i was not refunded despite leaving the day after I paid a weeks rent but the manager claimed she refunded me $430. Lawsuit is officially beginning as of today. Will not include any more details about injuries ect, but I would confirm new ownership/management before trying it out and suffering the price it has cost myself and 12 year old daughter. Sad day for Motel 6 corporation. I still love my regular locations in 6 other cities Nationally. (My son is a Marine and I follow for awards, events ect when able)

Aside from the price, everything about this room was sub-par. I suppose you get what you pay for, but even then, there should, at the very least, be some sort of preset standard for sanitation. Other Motel 6s Ive stayed at would put this one to utter shame...The floors had not been cleaned (yes, I checked) the shower was small (even for me at 130lbs and 55) and it was also difficult to use and got water all over the bathroom floor, there was no fridge or microwave (which I thought was unusual for a motel 6), the bathroom had no trash can, the television screen was distorted, and the pool had living organisms swimming around in it. Im sure some of these problems seem like first world issues, but if you could see what I had, Im sure youd understand. Very disappointing stay.

I have stayed at this Motel 6 three times over the course of three years and it just keeps getting worse and worse. Nothing works. Ice machine ...nope. Washer and dryer...nope. Coke machine...nope. Nothing works here. This motel barley functions. My room #208 was like a bombed out crack house. I can understand that you may want to save a couple of bucks but, at the very least, find another Motel 6 down the road.

I had a very bad experience with this motel. I have been to motel 6 many times but this was not up to the standards of motel 6.The room provided to us was kind is smoker’s room . It was so badly smelly.We complained but they didn’t change our room instead just provided a room freshener which never work for smoke smell.Even room was so dirty and not maintained well.I doubt event hey have change the bedding.It was completely different than what shown on website and actually provided.I don’t like to give poor rating but my experience with this motel 6 was indeed worst ever .

It was awfully dirty, so dirty we got a refund and left. We did not stay. There was a rift raft going on outside the hotel and mind you. We only stayed for 20 minutes and that was just us looking for another hotel to stay at. The room was not cleaned at all the person staying in the room on the second floor was throwing, lit cigarettes down on us. There was cracks in the walls. The pillows were yellow and dirty. The boxspring outside layer of the bed was filthy with food or blood. I don’t know what it was. The microwave had crumbs on the handle. We touched nothing we didn’t even sit down in the room it was that bad . However, the guy at the front desk name Angel was very nice and understanding.

Amy, Anna, Abel, and Michael were awesome. I give it a good rating because it was quiet and clean during our five day stay, and there was nothing but politeness from the employees. Several months earlier we had stayed there and it was miserable. The employees were nice, but the rooms werent clean, there was fighting and loudness all night. We loaded up all our belongings daily, leaving nothing in the room. This time was so much different. We did have to ask for towels and linen changes. But, I prefer to keep my room clean and not have daily service. I even left my pillow there, I guess for our next stay in a couple months.

This place is a dump. First room smelled like the smoking section of an airport. It wasnt until I laid down that I saw the mysterious brown stains on the ceiling. Could have been blood, could have been feces. Moved to another room and while it smelled moderately better, the smoke detector was missing (pretty sure thats a health & safety violation) and the bathroom vent was dangling off the wall. The staff were friendly and helpful but when I tried to check out a day early for fear of my own health and safety, no one had the authority to issue the refund of one night. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and stay elsewhere. Im sure a Motel 6 bot will reply to this apologizing and that they will strive to do better, but reading reviews of others who had similar experiences, the owners are not interested taking any pride whatsoever about the property they own and creating a nice, safe place for people to stay at a reasonable price.

I got a room with my wife and kid here ….Kevin checked us in but when we asked for extra towels he said “you get what you get buddy” inthan replied and said”well there isn’t enough towels if I find some extra I’ll go to your room and give you some. Area was shotty, Crackheads all over the place. As soon as we pulled up a couple was leaving and told us they were leaving because of crackheads in the parking lot and they did not feel safe. Advised us to do the same. The only good thing about this place was the receptionist Angel. Super friendly and accomodating. We did not feel safe in our original room which was in the back of the hotel and he moved us to the front. Literally the only reason why we stayed the night. Give that kid a raise.

July 24-25th I stayed at the motel 6 Astascadero location and it was nice and clean and staff was amazing front desk worker Cody R was very nice and friendly the rooms was nice and clean and neighborhood was nice as well I will definitely be staying at that motel 6 again. Cody R made me feel welcomed and was very friendly not to often do we get great customer service and he did just that.

There were clean rooms with problems, we were warned that a light in the bathroom didnt work, fine. 5 bugs, one of which woke wife up by crawling on her. Heater barely brought room to 68°F. Not a very good experience. I had to cancel my booking (within 30 mins of booking it) because of an unforeseen change in the travel plans.I called them up. They were supportive on the call and told that they will not charge anyhow if I dont show up.But to my surprise, they still charged it 2 days after the scheduled checkout. Upon arrival, we noticed our adjoining door to the next room would not lock properly, which did not make us feel safe with having neighbors next door. Our bedding was also soiled on arrival. We went back to the front desk to request a new room or a refund, and no one was present for at least 15 minutes. When the lady came back, she refused to offer us a new room, and also refused a refund. With a police car patrolling the parking lot twice within 30 minutes, and suspicious people loitering in the parking lot, it confirmed that we were better off just looking for a new place. So this is your standard run of the mill Motel 6. Nothing special but its clean and the rooms are fine if you just need a place to spend the night, working out of town, traveling or what have you. What made it a really nice experience I needed a plug with a USB port to charge my phone. The young man at the front desk was super gracious and offered to let me borrow his personal one. When I went down to pick it up I asked him if he wanted me just to leave it in the room or to bring it back down to the office when I was done. The Motel 6 was actually very nice. My Mother is 90 years old and we had reservations already for downstairs, non smoking and easy access (if available.) We arrived about 3:30 PM and found it very easy to find from Hwy 101. It had completely been renovated and was very nice. We were greeted in the lobby by the nicest people...professional too and we received great service as well as a room with our specifications. I was very pleased with our room. It was very clean and the forced air heat was already on to make the chilly day more comfortable. It had a dresser and two full size beds. Also a very clean bathroom with a shower, clean towels, hand soaps and plenty of paper products. The night was very quiet and we were informed that they would be available in office 24 hours a day for service. In the morning coffee and hot tea were available and we were greeted by smiling faces and asked how our night and room was for us. There were three ahead of me for coffee and when one ran put the lady was right on top of it with fresh coffee and HOT tea water. All the while she made delightful conversation and I was very impressed. There was a beautiful pool and great landscaping. Also they allowed dogs and I saw several dogs from large to small. Let me add that the maids and groundskeepers were smiling, informative and ready to please customers. I would definitely return for another stay and recommend the Motel 6 in Atascadero to family and friends.

Filthy, run-down, noisy. Bedding was so disgusting I went and bought a mattress cover, blanket and pillow. No TP, bathroom light didnt not work, shower curtain raggedy and moldy, floor had not been mopped in who knows how long. Counters and walls filthy. The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. While waiting in my rooms doorway, for towels, tp, and tv remote, a lady came screaming out of her room saying he has a gun, hes in my room...turned out she was high on drugs according to staff. The grounds were teaming with individuals who appeared to be consumers of illicit narcotics. These people roamed all hours of the night, yelling at who knows what. I noticed two rooms had yellow notices taped to the doors that required the rooms to remain unrented because of their condition. I could go on, but that gives you an idea. We would have moved, but cost and availability in the area was prohibitive. Staff was friendly, and as helpful as they could be.

Our room stunk like cigarettes for being non-smoking room. Cigarette ashes were all over the counter they never got wiped down. Someone threw their ashtray in the toilet & never flushed it. Almost every room in that price range offers at least shampoo and a coffee maker but we didnt even get a box of Kleenex. I can;t say the bathroom wasnt clean because it was outright dirty. The bathroom needs to be redone: the shower design is awful, way too small and the shower head dripped OUTSIDE the curtain (which also was hard to move) making puddles on the floor and Im sure going under the laminate floor which should be a sheet product so water and MOLD do not get under the flooring and from the look of the sealant at the floor around the shower, its already there. The wall mounted towel storage does not really work either - to clever for its own good. The manager came out and was unbelievably rude about the situation. As I was hold with hotels.com about the booking there was three girls who came in and booked on the motel 6 website and they wouldn’t give them the room they were already charged with. They are double booking there rooms and not honoring reservations. The manger even said a racist remark and said he wouldn’t book to me even if he had a room. The guy who came to clean the room the last day we were to leave was not told that our check out time was at 1 instead of 12 before we could explain he proceeded to tell us that check out time is at 12 we told him that we had already talked to the front office and they said it would be ok. There was a cigarette hole in the bedspread that also had a stain on it or it was dirty. There was a bad odor in the room. The host gave us some room spray and offered to give us another room, but it was upstairs and since we were traveling with another party that could not use stairs who had a room close to us we opted to tuff it out, leaving the windows and door open as much as possible. The maintenance crew responded promptly to a leaking shower head that was spraying water all over the floor. The person that cleaned the room did a good job the first two days. I forgot to leave a tip the third day on the pillow and that was the day that we didnt receive new cups and our ice bucket plastic was left in the wet ice bucket from the day before. Hope it was just a coincidence. The corners of floor had visible amounts of dirt and dust that appear to have been there for some time. My wife wanted to check out after her room inspection but because of the other party with us in their own room we didnt mention it. On the good side the employees were very polite and friendly.

The only downside was the bathroom shower is cramped and tends to leak on the floor if the curtain isnt closed properly. Upon arriving at this hotel, we were greeted by a parking lot full of seedy individuals lurking, of which one car asked us for money and followed us around the lot multiple times as we looked for parking. I immediately requested a refund at the front desk, was told that it would need manager approval, and the manager did not pick up. We hesitatingly went to the room only to discover that neither key worked. When I went back to the front desk, no one was there. We waited for 5-10 minutes knocking and calling to no avail. We left the keys at the desk and departed. (Pool was in front of my room) no parking spaces also accessible parking space where only 2 in the front next to the office and an other on the other side around the office. Weekend pricing is almost double that of the weekdays, the rooms are small, the bathrooms could be cleaner, and the neighbors were noisy. Smoking is allowed, which was a definite minus for my family. It was clean, basic furnishings but thats perfect for a night or two. Bed was comfortable & the room was quiet. I must mention the fabulous staff. Kim greeted us on arrival & was really welcoming. She not only gave us excellent advice on where to eat dinner that night (Outlaws bar & restaurant just up the road by the Shell station was so good we went back for breakfast the next morning) but provided fresh hot water for me for a cup of hot tea & offered extra towels if we wanted. Decent motel just off the highway. The grounds are well maintained and well lit at night. Our room was clean. The room was comfortable even though the heater didn’t work. There’s a lobby with soda and food machines, a microwave oven and a laundry room and a laundry detergent vending machine. Food machines also have some toiletry items. I know this is a Motel 6, but for the amount of money we paid to stay here, one would expect at least a certain level of quality. The sheets had stains on them, the bed was very bouncy and uncomfortable, the bedspread had faint graffiti on it, the water pressure was low and there was no shampoo or conditioner. I will say that the staff was helpful and responsive. At $200 a night (its actually more than that at times), I think they can afford to replace defiled bedding.

When I entered the room, the shower curtain was laying across the table in the room and there was no shower curtain in the shower. I returned to the front office to inform them of the problem. I would not recommend this motel. If necessary sleep in your car. The motel exterior grounds are run down, unkept and filthy. The buildings are unmaintained as well. Cigarette butts are strewn across the entire property. The swimming pool has much dirt in the bottom, probably unused because of the pandemic. But none the less the pool has not received any type of cleaning in months. Im surprised the San Luis Obispo County Health Inspector has not cited them for the infractions. The toilet had a light mildew ring around it. It probably had not been cleaned properly in weeks. The sink did not drain very well. Other than that the bathroom looked recently renovated. The beds were not of high quality. But none the less I didnt have problems sleeping. This motel needs a face-lift top to bottom, inside and out.

The web site picture was of the building when new. It was generally clean but could tell it needs a face lift and modernising. Everything has been painted to many times and caulk used excessively.It met my needs a place to sleep but was on the bottom of my limits of cleanliness and decor. The room was very old and small. The air conditioning was cold but rattled badly so had to turn it off to sleep. No shampoo and the soaps were smaller than small. The AC worked but it was very loud the rooms were non smoking but the smell of weed drifted in our room my son was coughing due to it. The man and woman at the pool were vaping marijuana. For $200.00 it was disappointing.

I was completely disappointed on the bed sheets and no towels as if the room was used the rented again without proper inspection. I really was not looking forward to paying on those two occasions but I was tired and I didnt want to deal with anything else but sleep. If I could get the two regretful nights as complimented night I would give it another chance. I enjoyed staying at motel 6 thank you for your time.

I visit the Motel 6 in Atascadero usually once a month, sometimes twice. My last visit on 4/29 I rented two rooms. I love the peace and quiet, the staff is Awesome, the rooms are great comfortable beds, my only dislike is the size of the showers.. Coffee in the am is great and check out time of 12 noon also.. Our stay was very dissatisfying, the room was very small and the bed was very uncomfortable. There was no refrigerator or hair dryer in the room. The water pressure in the shower and the sink were weak. Shower was cold, hot water didn’t seem to work long. I would not recommend this hotel to any family or friends who may be traveling through.

From check in to odd requests all staff have been kind, polite and professional. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ryan over the phone prior to booking online and his personality and knowledge sold me. He was also the one that greeted me upon checking in !! Management runs this place to a T and ALL STAFF have been extremely accommodating and welcoming. Rooms are clean and I will stay here again.

This place is way overpriced compared to a lot of other Motel 6s the rooms are very out of date last time I stayed there I had to switch three times because there was something broken and all of the rooms I dont understand how they can charge so much for a Motel 6 San Simeon for $60 a night at the moment it is advertised on Google for $99 a night once you click on to it though its quickly goes up to $80 and thats even with the discount

This was one of the grossest and most disgusting Motel 6 weve stayed at. Nearly every surface was stained. Under the bed was filthy and had dirt and food from other guests. Numerous surfaces were crumbling, dusty, dirty, or falling apart. There were stab marks in the wall from where previous guests used a knive to keep the curtain shut. The sheets were too worn out to stay on the bed. There were holes in all layers of the bedding and cigarette burn marks on top. The police were there each day of our stay. There were broken down cars in the parking lot. No towels left in the room, supposedly due to covid-19 precautions. Ice machine broken. We will never be staying here again.

I was surprised to find no shower cap nor shampoo as I had counted on those amenities being there. Also, the vending machines were not obvious so I drove to a nearby pharmacy to buy a toothbrush & toothpaste. When I layer went looking for water, I found I could have bought one from the vending machine.My room & bed were comfortable but the bedspread looked dirty. Maybe it was stained, I didnt inspect it closely. Also, the curtain was not completely hung & was slouching in one place. Those 2 things would have been easily fixed to make the room seem more tidy.

Very rude front desk associate Kira. For 2 nights stay, the bathroom wasnt clean nor upgraded. The room was across of multiple lights streaming through the window - we didnt sleep all night- the curtain didnt cover the window completely to stop the light. When returned to the motel at night, we couldnt get into the room, the keys didnt work. She yelled at me and said that we already got a good discount. Then, she said she has refunded the charge. I see that it wasnt refunded. I never had such a bad experience. I will dispute the charge with my credit card.

Stayed here last October. The floor and the table had what appeared to be some kind of sticky red juice all over them. The bathroom was dirty and had what appeared to be blood splattered on the toilet, wall and sink. The grounds were filthy and the out door trash cans were overflowing. I would not stay here again.

My hotel room and shower had not been cleaned. There was brown and blue liquid in the shower. After I cleaned it out myself and took a shower, I dried myself off with a towel that was covered with someone elses hair! I guess the last person to say there hung it up after using it and the maid, if there was one, assumed it was still clean. I was disgusting. There were no other available rooms to be moved to and I still had to pay $80 for the night! It was terrible! Though the front desk staff were very nice, they werent empowered to comp the room or make it right! Terrible experience.

The place seemed run down. I used to stay here about 10 years ago and I dont remember it being like this. Even though room 121 had laminate flooring it smelled bad. There was also no shampoo or in room amenities either. Bare bones, old worn towels. It wasnt cheap either. For $40 more other motels are much better. Too bad it has gone downhill.

We needed a motel to stay overnight. The front receptionist was really nice and very pleasant to talk with. The updated room with the 2 double was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The channels selection for the TV was excellent with about 40 channels and Samsung flat screen. Finally, you cant beat the price compare to other hotels/motels.

The location was perfect. I was less than 30 minutes from both Pismo Beach and Morro Bay (GORGEOUS beaches). It was close to food, gas, nail shops, banks, and shopping. It was a very safe, peaceful, quiet neighborhood. I stayed with my cat and dog. The staff was extremely professional and polite and serviced every of my needs promptly and professionally. I also greatly appreciated that they were all women. My room was immaculate; clean, smelled great (my dust allergies did not act up), big comfortable bed with fresh sheets. I greatly enjoyed my stay, and will be chosing Motel 6 Atascadero for my halfway stop on my trips to Southern California from now on. Thanks Motel 6 Atascadero! I adore you!

The location was great right off the freeway. But the problem I had was I stayed in room 212 and when I returned home I had several bites on my arm, stomach and back and my daughter was also itching. The beds needs the plastic bed covers on them to keep the bugs out. I also didnt like the shower the head should of been in the back of the shower not the front. This is how my stay was.

We arrived and the floors were so dirty, just from walking bare foot from the bed to bathroom the bottoms of our feet were black, we asked them to mop the floors, they never did after saying they would, Getting into bed we found dog hairs in our bedding, we asked for new sheets, they never arrived. This has to be one of the oldest and dirtiest Motel I have ever stayed at! I asked for a downstairs Handicapped room. Yes I was given a room downstairs, with a big bathroom. But the room itself was Ridiculously Small and Dirty! The Bathroom was disgustinly dirty! The shower had mold on the the walls, the toilet had dirty water lines and hair in it. The Air Conditioner vent was So full of dust and just Really dirty! The walls and the floor in the bathroom looked like they had never even been cleaned and mopped. The ice machine was out of order! The beds didnt have comforters on them, just a sheet and a thin blanket. Thats it. I paid $205.00 for 2 nights, and We never even got maid service not once. Way too much $ out of my pocket for the experience I had here. The man at the front desk was fairly helpful. But yet, Everytime we went to the front desk for something he kept trying to make jokes that there was 10 people in our room! Which wasnt true. When I made the Reservation, I said it would be 2 adults and 2 children. What do u expect when you put 4 people in such a small room!? And we paid $5 for the WiFi and we all werent even able to use it! You pay $5 for only 1 phone to use it. No tablets! Well thats what the kids had (tablets) and they couldnt even connect to it. Im sorry, Very Bad Experience here. And we will not be back! You can count on that!

We checked in, looked under the covers, sheets, and at the mattresses, then checked out. There were so many stains on the bedding and mattress protector, some of them were clearly blood! The mattresses had crumbs and the walls were filthy. All of the guests hanging outside were either homeless or druggie looking people who were speaking loud profanities. I recently stayed over on memorial weekend. Through the chaos that was my weekend, staying here felt like home. The staff was friendly, service was quick, efficient and welcoming. I also would like to offer recognition towards one of the employees I had the pleasure of dealin with. I believe her name was Kayla. The Good: Price on a holiday weekend (Labor Day 2015), pet friendly, location, modernized room style, nice TV, ample parking.The Bad: Arrived at 9pm and only had 1 room left, despite reserving a week prior, non-smoking. Was warned that room smelled bad (smoke). Had a 4 month old with me and a dog and really didnt want to stay in a smoky room, but didnt have any other options for stay, so accepted. Front desk discounted $10/nt for state of room. In addition to strong smoky smell, the bathroom door wouldnt close because of damaged floor. Caulking in various places in bathroom. Showerhead leaked on the floor. Mold in seams of shower. Towels were dingy and stained. So-so sound proofing (heard everything outside).2 Stars for honesty of front desk staff and (small) discount for state of the room.

Rooms were great the clean rooms that have been remolded recently were a welcoming sight after a long days travel. The friendly clerk was much appreciated. We also were thankful for a lot of room to park our 2 cars.
