More Than a Fix was awesome. My daughter cracked her iPad screen. I looked at having it replaced at apple but it was over $200 for the repair and it was going to take a couple days to get it back. More then a fix was just over $100 for the repair and it took them 2 hours and they guarantee their work. They were quick and convenient. I hope to not need their service in the future but if I end up with another cracked screen we will be back.

The back of my iPhone had been shattered for about a year and when I finally decided to get it fixed, More Than A Fix uncovered a deeper issue with my camera. I have now used More Than a Fix twice and have nothing but good things to say about them. Every employee is knowledgeable, honest, efficient and their pricing is fair. They always go the extra mile. They called several times to give me updates and were very patient with all my questions. They were even nice enough to carry the desktop tower to my car in the rain. I would never go anywhere else for my repairs.

A great little shop. Employees are knowledgeable or at least knowledgeable at finding an answer. Also, they are honest about the weather or not it is worth actually repairing the device or just replace through insurance or used market. It is a very nice atmosphere and a great ocean view Employees seem happy, not stressed out. Willing to help out where they can. Tip: An easy spot to get rid of E-waste if you have a couple small thing, long dead phones and old accessories. Items will be recycled.

Thus guy is awesome. The first time going here I was having trouble charging my s22U. I had spoken to 4 or 5 places about repair everyone of them wanted to replace the charging port. I called this guy. He asked why I need it replaced. I filled him in. He said, bring it in and lets see what cleaning it does. $10 and 5 minutes I was out the door with a fixed phone. Issue with iPad not turning. Dropped it off Tuesday, repaired and picked up Wednesday. Also installed a new glass protector screen. Price was very reasonable. Brought in my lap top that office IT guy told me was going to be too expensive to fix and better off buying a new one. Left it for repair. My family and I are from Washington and were on vacation visiting my husbands mother, and when I saw there was a pretty bad crack in my phone, my husbands mother recommended More Than a Fix. She had gone there before, and she was right! Getting a new phone just because of a crack on the screen would have cost me loads more than it did to replace the screen. Wow! I saved a ton of money on vacation by choosing More Than a Fix instead of replacing my phone altogether. It also saved me the pain of having to get a new phone (we all know how time-consuming that can be). Literally incredible!!! Come here instead of the Apple Store. I spent all night last night and a team of 10 people at the genius bar at Apple couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my phone. LOL why Apple calls them Genius Bar idk, more like the idiot bar. More over, they told me it would be a huge amount to replace my screen and told me they would potentially wipe my phone clean.I came here because my friend Luba recommended them and I read the 5- star reviews. I brought my laptop (which had 2 months left on a 4-year extended warranty) in for diagnosis and repair. James was very clear that if a repair did not address the problem, there would be no charge. Two repairs of different parts did not solve the problem. The final diagnosis was that the CPU was failing but had not failed completely, and the unit was not worth repairing. No charge. James also wrote a detailed description of the attempts at solutions and the final diagnosis for the warranty claim. While I understood the policy of no charge if no fix, I felt that James was exceptional at explaining what he thought the cause was and how to address it. I did not feel that it was right to have his expertise and time not compensated; therefore, I paid several hundred dollars for his work.

The Apple Store provided an estimate of $750 to replace the Logic Book on my MacBook Pro. More Than a Fix found out that it was really the battery and hard drive. Replaced both for $245. He assured me that my crashed iPhone11 will be fixed no matter whatever the issue is and I do not need to worry about the data recovery & other nightmare issues. Apple Store told me I will have to replace the logic board and it cannot be fixed with any software issues. James had suspected a sound card.Jame fixed it in 30-minutes. He showed a butcherd up junk battery that a repair shop had replaced 3-months back during my overseas trip to Asia. He did not charged me any additional penny and assured me of a 1-year warranty.I had sent my nephew cousin & many friends to him this far. Do not waste your time going to 10-places. For last several years, he had helped so many in my circle. He is not greedy and his is not a welfare department either. He is very reasonable, fair and honest guy. I never do reviews unless it is something exceptional!!!! That is what I found when I took my phone screen to be fixed. I was told by other repair shops that my OLED. Screen could not be repared from the black blotches. To the contrary Guy assured me that he would make it like new and to rest assured it will be done in a timely manner. It was in fact done in a timely fashion and looked as it did out of the box. Guy assured me that he warrantees his work. Absolutely excellent -- fast and reasonably priced repairs.Ive had both an iPad charging port repaired here, they micro soldered on a new charging port and today I had an iPhone 12 Pro Max screen replaced due to digitizer failure (screen wasnt cracked or even scratched) but it got a little wet (Apple claims they are water resistant).They repaired the iPhone same-day, in fact, it was ready in just 2.5 hours. The cost of this repair was exactly the same price as an OLED screen off Amazon where Id have to DIY the complex repair.They are pros with skilled repair techs, a well-equipment lab (like microscopes and parts), and their turn-around is fast. They also fix a whole lot of other things like PCs.Id include a picture but all there is to see is it looks like a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max!

My wife dropped her phone several times and needed a new screen. It was a Sunday and saw online that More Than a Fix was open and had 5 Star ratings, so she drove to San Clemente when it opened at noon. The technician asked her if she’d had it repaired before, which she had, and he showed her that one of the screws had been over tightened and stripped. **Update June 4th**WOW I am so impressed with this company and their TRUE customer service!! After the screen lifted up they contacted me by phone and email to let me know that their work carries a lifetime warranty and they would make it right. Because we got the phone fixed while there on vacation I told them we would stop in next time we were back in the area. They responded back with an overnight shipping label and literally had the phone fixed and sent back to us the same day that they received it. Would definitely use them again and am very impressed with their communication and how they handled the repair!!Update on original review... We were very happy with the repair of the screen replacement and screen protector. However a week later the screen is popped up across the top edge of the phone.

They even persuaded me into choosing a more affordable solution because the work I requested wasnt necessary. This was even after ordering the extra parts for me. I had given up hope on being able to find a battery - and someone to replace it - for my Huawei Ascend Mate 10. The battery was swelling and had pushed the back of the phone off almost completely. I sent requests for quotes to four different places. Two of them wouldnt help me, one of them came back with a quote that was ridiculous. Only More Than A Fix seemed to know what they were doing and were willing to help. The price was right, they ordered the battery, I brought it in a few days later and it was done within an hour. I used a non apple charger which ended up frying 2 MacBooks. I went to another shop first (not more than a fix) and they were only able to fix one which was replacing the battery and the port. They said they other one can’t be fixed. I ended up calling more than a fix and I so wish I went there to begin with! James Gallagher rebuilt the board, replaced a fan and the battery for a very reasonable price. My only regret is just not going to More than a fix from the beginning. James is very knowledgeable and gave me great info/ advice. I ended up purchasing some used MacBook chargers from them as well so I don’t fry my MacBooks again. Thanks again for all your help. I WILL BE TAKING ANY PHONE REPAIRS I HAVE TO THESE GUYS EVERY TIME.I had a phone that I took in for repair but could not be fixed due to a hardware issue, a known issue on some iPhone 7s. Guy explained he worked on it for about 8 hours and was getting frustrated he could fix it so they even got a second opinion from the top hardware/board repair expert in the country. During the initial drop off I explained the issues I was having with my phone that I actually had service on, an iPhone 6 that was on its last leg, and they gave me a loner phone for free while they worked on my phone. I had the loner phone for a few days and they called me explaining the hardware issue that couldn’t be fixed, at this time I was getting ready to go out of town and needed a phone. I asked if I could hold onto the loner phone and they explained that was not a problem.Well here I am about three months later finally giving them their loner phone back because I was finally able to get another phone. During the time with the loner phone I cracked the screen on it and was only charged the parts cost to fix the screen when I returned it.Long story short...They have fixed the screen on three separate phones for me.Super competitive prices.Quick turn around time.Very friendly.Willing to help.

I found the right place! I brought in a laptop with a keyboard problem. James evaluated the laptop, looked up the part, and gave me a reasonable estimate. The original repair time estimate was two weeks. I had my laptop back in a week. James discovered that in addition to the problem I knew about, someone had spilled espresso with creamer onto the keyboard. I dont drink espresso. Hmmm. Despite the additional work, James stuck to the original estimate.More Than a Fix is a shop with integrity. I probably spent 10 minutes dropping off my laptop (they were busy) and five minutes picking it up. On both visits I heard James advise someone NOT to fix their item as the cost of repair was too close to the cost of a new one, and/or the technology was outdated.The repair is excellent, and done right the first time.

I bumped into into a table that I had placed my iPad on moments before, it happened in slow motion. But I didn’t even try to catch it. I was frozen unable to move until it landed face down onto the concrete floor in my garage. It was unstable as the front glass had shattered into thousands of tiny pieces and the whole front glass looked as it it will just crumble if touched. I went online to search for a place that could replace the glass not the whole devise which is what apple does at the Genius Bar. $250 for the iPad I brought in. So I type iPad screen replacement and got a yelp listing with five different local stores in my area, through yelp I requested a quote and the first response was “More then a Fix” electronics repair. Wait time to get the quote was very fast, all five companies replied with a “quote”in less then 5 minutes, More then a Fix was first and fastest so I read their quote. And did the same for all 5 companies.More then a Fix— quoted my glass replacement on my model iPad @ $129.The second fastest company had the same price but reading further I noticed that this was a quote for a previous generation of my iPad they did not repair the most current model they did not stock the parts for my devise? Thats a bummer. And since the other three companies did not get a $ amount in their quote. They did not receive my business,The fastest quote lowest price and easiest to research was More then a Fix! They have 2 location i went to San clemente, they have a shop in the Bank of America building that is in the center of town just south of Del Mar, on El Camino Real. park behind the building, walk to the Starbucks that shares the building also as you approach Starbucks look to your left and you will see stairs to access the buildings second floor. Directly above Starbucks is More then a Fix I walked into the shop and was greeted by the tech that was also working the receptionist position that evening I would not have noticed any differance in customer care or speed of the drop off. She knew exactly what she was doing took less then 5 minutes and before I got to my car I got a text saying my repair was underway. She said i would recieve a couple updates via email. And or text. She said the glass replacement took between 2-3 hours to complete but since I came at closing I would be getting mine back the next day. The hours at this location time Monday through Saturday. 7pm & Sunday they close at 4 im fairly confident in these closing times being correct but you can contact them. At MorethenaFix.comI definately had a great experience at More then a Fix, they were very friendly professional knowledgable easy to research website they had a small easy to find convenient location, they provided a top shelf service and were an excellent value with competitive price that is hard to beat. and i was so thrilled I also bought a case for my iPad and was still out the door having spent a little over half the price of the apple store and better customer experience as well

So I borrowed my buddys Samsung Note 8 phone while my phone was getting a warranty repair and low and behold I dropped it and cracked the screen. I brought my sons gaming computer in because it was no longer putting out a video signal. Initially we thought it might need a whole new video card but James took the time to figure it out. It was hanging up due to a lack of available storage. He told me what I needed and talked me through it on the phone when I called back with questions. I had a MS Surface Pro that blue screened on me and wouldnt allow me to do anything else. Another business down the street managed to get it back to recovery mode but told me the data was gone and would have to go to a data recovery specialist. I called MTaF and asked if they could recover my personal data from the device. They said they would try and if they couldnt then it would be no cost. So, I brought it in and about a day later got a call that they were successful in recovering all the photos and files that I was most concerned about. I provided an external HD and Oscar loaded the data on it. They also attempted to recover/reload windows, but my device wasnt having it and I was told my drive was likely defective and cause of the BSOD. The cost was very fair and all the people I delt with were professional and courteous. I would highly recommend MTaF. I was pleased with the outcome even though my device saw its demise. Just today I had a Galaxy S6 charger port go bad and they replaced it and saved my phone and it was well worth the money as my whole work email and contacts were on that phone. It sucks.More than a Fix shared with me that my LG G5 is kind of an obscure phone (not iPhone or Galaxy). Its also a 2016 release; stuff is gonna get expensive for it soon, and a new phone may be a better decision down the road. These guys had this level of conversation with me and while they werent the cheapest, i got a Factory Replacement screen assembly installed in about 24 hours from my first call to paying and picking up -- on a phone that is already hard to get parts for and will get harder as the product life ends.More than a Fix does it clean and quick at a fair price. It cost me less than the new smart phone de jour. Cost me 1/2 of what it would cost to buy the same used phone off Swappa. Took very little time to do and no new phone setup. These guys are legit. Oh and its right in San Clemente at El Camino and Victoria above B of A! Thanks MTAF!

Wen to More than a fix on the Eve of a holiday, just before closing to recover iPhone content. I originally thought it was a bad battery, and actually turned out to be the circuit board. My Nexus 6P cell phone is notorious for being difficult to take apart for battery replacement without breaking something, but James had it ready within an hour or so, like it was almost trivial. Lifetime warranty on the battery, too. He also repairs guitar amplifiers, so I dropped off my old Sunn Beta Lead amp from the late 70s; it hadnt worked since 1990, but James eventually found replacement transistors on eBay and got it working again. :-)

Asked them if they could sell me a flash drive with windows 10 so I could reboot my laptop. They told me I would have to bring it in and they would charge me $150 for the service and they wouldnt even sell me a CD copy of windows 10. Needless to say I wasnt about to leave my device with these guys for 6 hours.These guys are the epitome of San Clemente citizens not knowing their products and what they are paying for. These guys have probably been scamming this town up for a while and will probably keep doing it in the future.I recommend Housecall Computer Repairs for someone who wont treat you like your nine years old with mommys credit card.These guys are local and if you dropped your phone or something they will fix it for a lower price than any carrier store will. But I know for a fact you could find a place that does a better job, faster, in Anaheim or probably even Mission Viejo. Those people who work at malls are just as qualified as these guys.EDIT: i dont know what to tell you bud. Some young guy quoted me that price there; honeslty i orignally wrote 110 and when i looked up my review of housecall i wrote the price you guys quoted me on their review.I know your not a Best Buy, thanks for acting condescending about this though, real friendly! Ive had three items repaired:-Iphone 8+; Back glass/ frame replaced when back glass broke-Iphone 6s +; front glass replaced-Ipad Mini 1st Gen; front glass and digitizer replacedRepairs look perfect and they are covered by warranty automatically if any defects arise. In addition to a great overall job on my devices, they drove from San Clemente to Santa Ana to fix the first item, drove to pick up and met me to drop off the last two w/ no extra costs.Great job!
