Moose is the only guy I’ll go to!!If you’re looking for a genuinely experienced surfboard repair spot, don’t hesitate to talk to moose. He runs his own show and does intricate repairs. Had a propane tank top meet the rail of my board and moose made it like it never happened. Fully glassed and all, and really fairly priced as well! Also his turn around isn’t the classic 2-3 weeks like it is around here. More like a day or two depending on the damage.Go to Moose if you’re in North SD county! Local legend.

Support your local small business! Moose is a great guy, nice to spend some time with, does great work, fast, good quality and at a very fair price. Had a busted out fin box reinstalled / glassed, and it was ready for pick up next day, rideable the day after. Moose does the work himself!…Or go drop your board off at your favorite surf shop, wait for it to get sent elsewhere to be repaired third party, then be sent back to the shop for you to go pick it up… (which is why it costs more and takes longer elsewhere, not because it’s better).Please be a good human and shop local and direct with small working business owners such as 🫎.

I kooked out and hyperflexed my beautiful Jacobs Longboard in OH waves last year. You guessed it, 100s of stress cracks across the center 3rd of the board. In despair, I put it in the corner, thinking it would cost a ton just to have someone ruin it in a failed repair. Last weekend someone told me to take it to Moose in Oside. They said hes a repair wizard charging a fair price. Boy howdy...they wuz right! Unreal quality repair with a super fast turnaround. Ill try to post before & after pics so you can see for yourself.

Moose is a living legend. I brought him a step up that needed a new leash plug and he got it done in 30 minutes. Every other ding repair place said it’d take over a week to finish. I didn’t know it was possible to get something done so quick.Moose was on track to be a world renowned shaper but fell into some hard times and now is an Oceanside renowned legend. He’s also got the best stories ever. Definitely use moose for any repair you need!

Moose did an excellent job on a deep ding on the bottom of my board. I dropped off the board Wednesday during my work lunch break and he had it ready by night the next day. Not only are his repairs quick, but they’re of quality! You can barely even see where the ding was. Moose is also super friendly and takes the time to get to know you. Somehow ripped my whole fin box out on my thruster set up, damage was the right outside box nearest the rail/tail. I Called up Moose, had a brief phone call, he was available so i took my board in. Less than 24 hours later, I got a call that my board was ready.The Fin box is in excellent condition, practically new. Level surface & great glassing. Despite having tons of boards to tend to, he pumped out my board. Really appreciate it!He will give you a great offer, a great laugh and some excellent wisdom. Totally destroyed my high end glass Becker longboard when my rack detached from the car and slid across the rocky median. Moose is really amazing. My custom Walden was damaged when someone dropped in on a wave. Guys at the beach told me that Moose was the best. I called that evening when I got home and he told me to come right over. Fixed the damage and a series of small dings in less than two days (the first was Sunday!) so I could take the board on the plane as scheduled.Perfect work. Don’t know how he does it: no sign of the damage. No color changes. Perfect to the touch. Really amazing. And what stories!! Can’t recommend highly enough.Thanks Moose!!!

I brought Moose my 70s Infinity longboard single fin with a balsa stringer.It was full of gashes, dings and had a broken fin. He was passionate about his work and explained how he would repair it in detail. He fixed all the dings, glassed in a new period fin and reglassed the bottom all in 2 days and was extremely reasonable.Im bringing 2 more boards to him.Moose is the my new go to guy.

READ ME: I broke my futures box after running someone over at Trestles (I think I killed someone?) and did a quick google search for surfboard repairs. My search lead me to Moose who had a lot of good reviews online. I called Moose and he seemed like a typical glassier and directions to his shop were a little confusing. Once I got to the shop I was less than impressed; Moose looked a little disheveled and there was random stuff all around the shop. I was tempted to take my board and run, however, Moose said he could really use the business and I decided to give him a shot. When I got back from my work trip a week later he said my board was all ready for pick up. This was surprising because I was expected him to steal my board! I went to the shop and I have to say I was extremely impressed with his work and craftsmanship. Not only was the fin box perfectly installed and glassed, he even painted the outside edges black to match my acid splash design. You cant even tell that area had been damaged. Moose is a true professional. He also has a lot of great stories and has a really interesting perspective on life. I will be going back to him for all my dings and dents. Moral of the story is dont judge a book by the cover. Thanks Moose!

We had an old longboard that needed some really big repairs pretty much all over. Wed had a couple of repairs done a couple years ago by another shop and they really didnt hold up. So I found all the positive reviews for Moose and gave him a call. He was able to fit me in right away, gave me a reasonable quote and also met me outside to figure out the deposit because my youngest fell asleep in the car on my way back from the ATM. (Its cash only and I didnt bring enough when I first arrived.)He was great about letting me know his progress and called me the day before it was supposed to be ready to let me know it had taken longer than expected and would need an extra day. We had a slight miscommunication there and when I arrived it wasnt ready, but he assured me it would be done asap and then shocked me a bit by basically pulling a bit of an all-nighter to get it done sending me text updates along the way. When I arrived he walked me through the repairs hed done (Im not very knowledgeable about surf boards) and helped me get my board out to the car. My husband was the avid surfer in our family and he was very impressed with how the board turned out. Finally were ready to take it back out on the water!

Moose did an amazing job on my board. Very affordable, and quick turn around time. A lot of attention to detail with friendly service. Plus he’s open on the weekends which is very helpful. Had a scratch that was a couple inches long. You can slightly still see the scratch, but you cannot feel it anymore; it’s uniform with the rest of the board.Update 10/3/2020: My newest Bord I got received a bad ding (crack on the rail) and pressure dent. I was in major distress but I took it to Moose and reassured me he could fix it. He did a great job and even got the pressure dent out. Unfortunately the Bord had purple rails and it delaminated when moose went to repair, but he did his best job with the repair and color match. Color match wasn’t perfect but it was definitely more than good enough and ended up matching the color of my fins which was rad. In terms of the actual glass repair it was near perfect and the actual outline/performance of the Bord was back to original. Very pleased with his craftsmanship and the experience as always. Ended up dropping off my other Bord to get repaired upon pickup, and after another ding of another Bord I’ll be dropping it off to Moose because I know he can get the job done so well. Customer for life; but I really hope I can get some reprieve from the surf gods with all of these dings/repairs.

I go to state and drive up which takes me an hour, it is so worth it though. The repairs are perfect and it’s like they never even happened. I sat there and it was done in twenty minuets. I felt very comfortable waiting and was provided food and drinks if needed. I was also entertained by Moose’a great stories. My board was pretty dinged up and now looks like it’s brand new and also ride like it. If you have any dings you should go to Moose it’s worth it even if you live far.

I messed up my board pretty bad. Buckled my nose and my fin box came loose. Moose fixed both no problem. Guy can do it all. Took a board to Ding King with a buckled nose and it only lasted one session. Moose fixed the buckle for half the price and I’ve ridden it for months now without a problem. Apparently, I have bad luck with my board hitting the bottom of the ocean and getting dinged up, so Im just now completing my THIRD time of having Moose fix my board. Hes a surf veteran, and long-time surfboard-maker who always does great quality work that you can trust is going to hold up for you. Hes also very communicative about the process, timing, etc. Make sure you bring CASH in hand to pay for it because thats all he takes. Hes also just a fun character to talk to. He did a terrific job fixing up my epoxy board, charged what I think is a very fair price and no upcharge for repairing epoxy. My board looks like it never happened. About a month ago Moose repaired my Surf board that fell out of the bed of my friend’s truck while driving. Moose patched it up nice and fast and now the board looks as good as new. I brought 2 boards too him. one fell off the rack of my car while I was driving so it had damaged fins and a scuffed tip. The other board had a dent on the side from being hit by a ceiling fan. He fixed up both and had them ready to go back in the water in a very timely manner, i cant recommend him highly enough. If I ever god forbid get any more dings or dents on my boards I know that Ill be able to take the boards to him and get them back asap and for a great price.

I contacted Moose on yelp first to see if he fixed inflatable paddleboards since mine got a hole on the side that I failed miserably at patching. He isnt a computer guy but he figured out how to respond to me and had me call him. He also isnt a texter so youll want to pick up the phone and call. He was honest and says he has never fixed one but he said hes MacGyver and could fix just about anything except a computer, LOL. He had me send him a photo and we talked about it some more after. We agreed that I would buy the patch kit and when it came in, Id bring it in. He had quoted me a super cheap price. When I brought it by, he showed me what he was going to do. In person he quoted me a liiiittle more than what was discussed on the phone but still a very fair price considering its a $800 board. I dropped it off on a Saturday knowing he wouldnt be starting it until Sunday. It needed to dry 24 hours so he called me Monday that it was ready. His hours are very flexible so I was able to go after work. I havent tested the board yet but I will soon. He said he did with soapy water and it appears to be ok. So we shall see. But it appears to be a good bonded patch. He contacted me today telling me to inflate it at 80% and let it sit a while like that so his patch doesnt get crinkled.I know I could have figured this out myself but he had a sander device I didnt have and a rack thing to get the board on its side to work on it. Also, I didnt want to do it, Haha.

Where do I start? I found Moose through a Google search and he was very helpful with the repair of my sons board. His work was clean, fast and reasonably priced. I was very grateful for his services and planned on bringing all of my future repairs to him.Then the phone calls started.......Moose called me a couple days after he did the work and was very upset with me in a voicemail. He claimed that I had been calling him at all hours of the night and not even leaving a message. He called again and madea similar claim filled with profanities and accusations of me harassing him via phone. As a courtesy I called him and explained that I had not been calling him and had no reason to call him. I also explained to him that I looked at my call records on my phone and did not have any record of calls to him other than when I called him for his services the prior week. I also informed him that I would block his number as we now had no reason to talk.Since that call last Tuesday I have received seven (7) different calls from Moose that start at about 4:20 am with rants like:- FU&% YO# you FU&%ING A55 H@&E!- Go FU&% YOURSELF- Ill find you you Mother FU&%ERLet me be again be clear, I was very pleased with his work. If anyone out there knows Moose, perhaps you can help him understand that he has a problem with his phone. You see, I am a business man that uses my phone daily to contact customers and communicate with friends and family.I use the latest and greatest technology without issue daily and I have never had a scenario where my phone decided to randomly call people at all hours of the evening. I certainly understand that hes upset that his phone is going off in the middle of the night but, Ive explained to his that Im not calling him. He needs some help.
