I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Moonlight Beach Dental. I went in for what should have been a routine procedure, but the work performed was subpar and left me with more problems than I initially had. The inlay crown they performed fell out.Not only did the dental work fail way sooner than it should have, causing me pain and inconvenience, but when I reached out to the office, they refused to respond, acknowledge any fault or honor my amicable request for reimbursement. I contacted the office three times over the course of the week and only got radio silence.The lack of professionalism and accountability is unacceptable, and I strongly advise against trusting Moonlight Beach Dental with your dental care. Save yourself the trouble and find a dentist who stands by their work and treats their patients with respect.

The professionalism and expertise of Dr. Vane and her team truly set them apart as the finest dental practice in both San Diego. The dental hygienists there are outstanding, providing top-quality care every time. Dont be fooled by the high reviews. I visited their reviews about 1-2 months ago and it was much lower. I believe they are paying for good reviews to be written or for the bad ones to be deleted. When I went on here a couple months ago- there were DOZENS of 1 Star reviews. And for good reason.I have a long backstory, so Ill try to keep it brief. I have been working with a dentist in Utah (I live in Newport) and my retainer broke with a composite tooth in it. I had one of my front teeth taken out due to an infected root canal, so the solution till the site healed was to wear a retainer with a composite tooth in it so that I dont look crazy in public. Anyways, they referred me to Moonlight Dental to get a new retainer and to have new scans done and sent to back to them. My dentist in Utah said they would cover the cost. That was April 11th. Today is May 13th and my dentist in Utah still does not have the scans. I have called Moonlight Beach Dental several times making sure they were sent and they assured me that it was. I have been in person as well and each time I was assured that they were sent. Making me feel silly for continuing to ask them. This is a time sensitive scan as well, so it needed to be sent ASAP, however, today (May 13th), I received a call from my dentist in Utah saying that Moonlight Beach Dental did indeed never sent the scans. They said they had an intern dealing with my case and apparently she actually never sent them. So now, appointments and procedures have been pushed back at least 4 weeks because of this mistake that they took no ownership of or kept me up to date with.In addition, the retainer they made for me broke within 3 days of receiving it. I brushed the retainer with the little brush THEY GAVE ME to clean it. The composite tooth in the retainer fell down the drain while I was brushing it. So I was left embarrassed going out in public, as I didnt have a fake tooth retainer yet again. I had to drive all the way back down to Moonlight Dental (1 and a half hour drive for me) for them to make me a new one. They did, however, this time they charged me for it! I was appalled. For something that they had already been paid for (three days prior) and it was their product (the little brush they gave me) that failed them. I was so frustrated. On top of that, the doctor, Dr. Vane... felt like she didnt have the time of day for me. She was always in a rush and as soon as I said I would be returning to Utah to get the implant, all my questions were evaded and felt as though she was gatekeeping. My impression was that she was not there to serve and to help. She also encouraged me to get Invisalign during the time the site was healing, but as soon as I said I may weigh my options and see where I want to go, she didnt answer any of my questions. She then put down other dentists, eluding to the fact that she was superior. I left the office in tears and frustrated. In addition, the new retainers fake tooth is a completely different color than my other teeth. It is much darker and grey.WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND.

I was never thrilled to go to the densit. The Team at Moonlight Beach Dental welcomes you with pure joy and smiles. The level of hospitality and care is equivlant to going to a 3 michelin starred restaurant. Dr. Vane and her amazing team have something special on their hands. I would give this dentist (Ms. Nicole Vane) and her office six stars if Google allowed it! Best dental experience Ive ever had. Not a single twinge of pain from start to finish. Very high tech and leading edge equipment and superior service and friendliness from all of her staff. Im from Houston Texas and had a filling come out just before we left for California to spend the holidays with our family. Ms. Nicole got me in the next day after our call. She replaced the filling with a perfectly fitting inlay created from a high tech 3D imaging device. The inlay also matched the color of my teeth, is more durable and better for chewing than a filling. Ms. Nicole is also a holistic dentist and believes in saving as much of your natural tooth as possible. Natural is always better in her expert opinion and Im all for that. Ms. Nicoles office is also a private office and not corporate owned or controlled. This means lower prices and better care and personal service. I definitely prefer this because as a retired business executive, Ive experienced what happens when an excellent and successful large private family owned business sells out to a corporate entity. Many of the changes in a take over, do not always lead to the benefit of the customer and so it is with a dental office. Im a discerning and picky person to please and dont write many reviews unless the quality and service truly exceed my expectations. And so, do yourself a favor and entrust these folks to do your dental work. Im reasonably certain that you will find that this dental office will exceed your expectations......something, Im sure you will agree, is not very common these days.Vaya Con DiosGo Aggies!

Appointment process is so well synchronized making check in quick with minimal wait time to be seen.The dental hygienist promptly welcomed me, and started working on me right away. She informed me of her findings throughout the cleaning and made recommendations (as appropriate). Showed me the issues to address with the computer images so it was easy to see and understand her recommendations. Will be back in 6 months.Appreciated her gentleness and caring. My experience with Dr. Vane and her staff has been amazing! I was very nervous before my first treatment (a broken crown replacement) mainly because I have had past traumatic dental experiences. The procedure went so smoothly I did not have pain or soreness. My son (he is also a patient), says Dr. Vane has “mad skills”. After my procedure I can attest to the fact that she is that rare mix of excellent skills, knowledge and a caring attitude. Her staff is well trained, courteous and efficient. I’ve had anxiety about going to the Dentist since I was a child. (Apologies to all the oral health care providers out there)! When my previous Dentist retired a couple of years ago, I was referred to Dr. Vane and the staff at Moonlight Beach Dental by a friend and couldn’t be happier! They took the time to make me feel comfortable and put me at ease and now I actually look forward to my visits. UPDATE: After just about a year with this dental office, I decided to move to another dentist. I had four cleanings with them and only saw the same hygienist twice. Seems they don’t see a reason to develop a relationship with your hygienist. And there was a leak in the suction of the chair I was in, so water would drip down my face and keep going down my neck, and it never got fixed. Forcing me to get X-rays was the final straw for me. It was sad to learn that they were more concerned with reviews than making patients happy. Also, with two dedicated receptionists, it was still quite difficult to get through, and it usually took a long time to check out because both women were on the phone all the time. My original review follows.Every aspect of my experience at Moonlight Dental was positive. From the moment I walked in, everyone was genuinely friendly and accommodating. Cassie, my hygienist, was the best: professional, informative, gentle and entertaining. What more could a patient ask for? Dr. Thompson stopped in and discussed some augmentation to my sleep apnea situation, which sounds quite intriguing. And Dr. Vane came in and examined my dental implants and was quite knowledgeable about my dental prospects, despite having never seen me before. My previous hygienist retired and I was concerned about finding the right person to work with in the future. I think I’m now in good hands!

A couple of years ago, I had an accident that damaged my front teeth. I live in Texas, so I just went to a local dentist and they put in white fillings. Over time, these fillings slowly chipped away and I knew I needed better coverage. I also wanted to smile again – I was so embarrassed with my smile. I had lost my confidence and let that define who I was as a person.Last week, I visited San Diego and saw Dr. Vane for veneers on my front teeth. I really wish I had seen her sooner! My teeth were chipped so badly, that I really needed crowns for better coverage! I was extremely anxious; I mean these are my front teeth, what everyone sees first. After panicking in the dental chair before the procedure, Dr. Vane made sure that I was 100% comfortable and that the procedure was 100% pain-free. Dr. Vane was able to have the crowns made while I was in the chair - no need for several office visits flying back and forth to California. The whole experience with her and the dental assistants was amazing! And this was just the experience.My teeth look phenomenal! Dr. Vane did such a fabulous job making the crowns look like my actual teeth: color, texture, shape. My gums healed perfectly and no one would even know they were crowns. I’m so happy to smile again without feeling the need to cover my mouth. Taking pictures is no longer a chore to hide chipped teeth, but fun flaunting my new, beautiful smile. Thank you, Dr. Vane. Everyone was so kind and the staff, including the Dr was very thorough with my exam.***update 4/19/2023I had an appointment with Hygienist,Cassie today for a deep cleaning and she was amazing. She took the time to get to know me and made me feel very comfortable. Throughout my appointment Cassie made sure I was doing OK and even stopped and asked if I needed a break. She was knowledgeable on suggestions to help me with issues Im having with my gums and teeth.I also had the opportunity to speak with the Office Manager, Noelani Austin. I actually enjoy visiting the dentist now.In one of my first visits, Dr. Vane repaired a chipped tooth and a gap, something that has bothered me since I was little, all in a matter of 40 minutes.A month later, I chipped both front teeth. For the past 2 years Ive been driving approximately 2 hours from Los Angeles to Moonlight Beach Dental because they are that good! I have now had several procedures done so I can now give an experienced review. Dr Vane and her staff are unlike any dentist I ever have visited. From the welcoming, clean, and relaxing environment she has created, the modern equipment & procedures, to the wonderful professional support staff, in my humble opinion, they set a new standard in their field. I have not found anyone like them in my area, which makes the long drive completely worth it.I primarily appreciate the conservative approach that Dr Vane takes doing minimal invasive procedures opting to try to save your teeth rather than pushing expensive unnecessary procedures. One example being that I had a cracked tooth that I knew could be fixed since it wasnt infected but 3 separate Dentists pressured and scared me in to doing a root canal. One of them said, after taking traditional xrays, that since it wasnt clear if the nerve was exposed it would be best to do a root canal, just in case. Fortunately I didnt cave and kept searching and found Dr Vane. I liked her philosophy & approach and out of desperation and with much hesitation, because of the long distance, I decided to give it a try. She did a 3D xray which revealed that the tooth could be saved, and so it was. She did an such and amazing job that it is practically invisible and the tooth looks and functions like new. I later had to do a root canal for a different tooth that I split in 2 by completely misusing it. There was only one person I trusted for that procedure. Although I was terrified because of all the horror stories Id heard, the procedure was practically painless, smooth, and not at all as uncomfortable as I imagined. Once again they exceeded my expectations.I used to be terrified going to the dentist, Moonlight Beach Dental cured me of that phobia. The clean welcoming environment, relaxing spa-like vibe, and professional competent staff, all add up to undo the negative associations traditional dentists have. I have had several procedures done now, all with excellent results. I can now say with certainty that it was and still is well worth the drive. I highly recommend Moonlight Beach Dental to all my friends and especially anyone afraid of dentists, give them a try and see for yourself.Id like to give a special thanks to Cassie for her experience and attention to detail, Alexa for her thorough professional work and charm, Diana for her competence and relaxing demeanor, and especially Sandra for her professionalism going above and beyond the call to service. Ive had a couple great experiences here at Moonlight Beach Dental, I found it very impressive they were able to diagnose and create a permanent crown for me all within an hour or two. Sam was amazing she made sure to ask how i was doing multiple times while Dr Vane was working on me. This is very I operant to me and makes it not uncomfortable to get a little break in for my mouth. Dr Vane does great clean work very professional! My hygienist Aubrey is BY FAR the smoothest operating hygienist Ive ever had. She is so careful overall this is a great office!

Top notch doctor, excellent staff. Doctor has latest technology, has latest training, follows safe and holistic protocols, has your best interests at heart. Doctor is gentle yet gets the job done, shes friendly and lovely. Shes experienced (about 20+ years). She does the work herself which I like. So many dentists have a younger dentist in house who they give restoration work to but not here, Dr Vane is hands on and does the work you go in for. Finally, and this is one big thing that sets Moonlight Dental apart from others, you can get a permanent crown in one visit. Im talking signed, sealed, and delivered. Permanent, as in, you dont have to go back to get it finalized because its all complete in one visit. She has all the tech and equipment to do crowns and more services in 1 day. The staff is the best, they take/file insurance on your behalf, theyre well-staffed. The office is pristine with plenty of convenient parking in a good location near the 5. Highly recommend.

I normally have lots of anxieties when I get my teeth worked on so discovering dentists that provides excellent holistic services while being caring and compassionate was refreshing, comforting, and a big relief. I’ve been a patient of Moonlight Beach Dental for many years now. I could not be happier. I don’t know what took me so long to write a review. Dr. Vane changed my smile and my life! I had a major fear of the dentist (growing up in Ireland and having bad dental experiences) but I no longer get anxious. Sedation changed everything for me and I no longer fear the dentist. If you have a fear of the dentist, please consider sedation. I recently had veneers done and I’m obsessed with my new smile. Dr. Vane is on top of her game keeping up with cutting-edge treatments and technology. Let’s just say my mouth was a mess and not an easy task for Dr. Vane but she did an amazing job making my teeth longer, adding in a few zirconia implants, and making my teeth whiter. I can’t stop smiling!The new office is beautiful, spotless clean, and has a spa-like zen feeling. I always feel like I’m in great hands.I’m a patient for life! Dr. Vane came highly recommended to me by a friend. I was looking for a new dentist after moving closer to the coast. My desire was to fix a broken crown and make my smile the best it could be. Dr. Vane and her staff discovered that I needed a deep teeth cleaning and discussed some other work that would help my mouth look and be it’s best. They have done an excellent job helping me slowly improve my overall dental health,. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. And, the ambience is very spa-like. Most amazing dentist I’ve ever been to. Every team member, especially the hygienist, took her time to make me feel extra comfortable with a deep cleaning procedure. I was extra anxious and she did everything on my time, put one of my favorite Netflix shows on, took ample breaks whenever I needed. Dr Vane also really helped me understand how my gum health is connected to my whole health. I was diagnosed by another dentist to get a root canal. After researching and making an appointment with Dr. Vane, I was relieved to discover that I didnt need one after all. Moonlight Beach Dental is a fully equipped office with high end technology. Dr. Vane detected why I was in so much pain and was able to treat the tooth without the need of a root canal. I am so glad that I found Dr. Vane and her staff at Moonlight Beach Dental. After years of struggling to find a dentist that I trusted, I fortunately found Moonlight Beach Dental when I moved to Encinitas. Dr. Vane is an expert in her field, but her office also often collaborates with other dentists and oral surgeons so you know that you are getting the highest quality of care. I cautiously came to Moonlight Beach Dental knowing that I had to get a tooth extracted. Dr. Vane and her team, as well as visiting colleagues from other offices, supported the process using a ceramic/ zirconia implant material. The implant feels great. I would highly recommend Dr. Vane and her team who has helped me out (Gigi, Annie, Diana, Samantha), along with the rest of the staff who support this office.

Absolutely love Moonlight Beach Dental - I get my cleanings done here but also have gotten two veneers done by Dr. Vane (I LOVE THEM!). I really feel like they care about my dental hygiene and go above and beyond to make things affordable. Dr. Vane is a perfectionist, and will never cut corners like some dentists do. Dr. Vane is seriously my favorite dentist ever, and having lived overseas in different countries for 15 years, I’ve visited a lot of dentists. Her professional expertise and skills are absolutely top-notch, and she is so personable, I would talk with her the whole time if I could. Everyone in her office is extremely professional, skilled and genuinely friendly, as well. Plus, her office feels more like a spa, but with all the latest, high-tech equipment. From the time I called to make my appointment my experience has been excellent. The staff is friendly and works to make the entire experience one of ease and comfort. The office decor promotes a feeling of calm and upon arriving my greeting was friendly. Of note, is the absence of a traditional reception counter thereby promoting a feeling of inclusion vs separation as is felt in most dental/medical offices. My examination utilized the most up-to date equipment which I felt was very beneficial in the explanation of my dental issues and what could be done to resolve them. Natalie was my dental hygienist who explained clearly what she was doing and her findings during my cleaning. She was gentle and very thorough. Shannon took my initial x-rays and pictures, and she too was very informative with information to help reduce the inflammation of my gums. My examination by Dr. Vane, was exceptional in that she was very thorough and took the time to explain what she found and what could be done to correct some long term issues that had been overlooked by other dental professionals. Dr. Vane was very informative, yet without the sales pressure Id experienced in other dental offices. In closing, my experience at Moonlight Beach Dental was exceptional in every way.

Moonlight beach dental provides quality dental services. Though, the office management is disorganized, slow to respond and unreliable. I started receiving care prior to their relocation and continued into the new office. That move came with a lot of improvements like a larger office, but the quality of communication and organization within management went down greatly. They misplaced records, asked for multiple payments, returned phone calls 5+ days later ( late Friday afternoon an hour prior to closing). Aside from that Dr. Vane is noticeably rushed and rude to her employees. She does do very detailed oriented work with the highest quality materials ( my original draw to the office). Her bedside manner leaves much to be desired, she lacks a level of empathy and compassion that is too impactful on my experience. I have discontinued my care with moonlight beach dental and will no longer recommend this office to others, as I once did.

All four ladies I interacted with during my first visit here; Dr. Nicole Vane, Cassie whom did the majority of my dental work, Abbey and Hayley (I hope I spelled her name right, I apologize if not lol), were very sweet and kind with me and made me feel very welcomed. The general service and vibe of the place is very relaxed, professional and accommodating. It is also very clean and comfortable to be inside. I must also admit that Ive never found or met a dentist in real life as opposed to online whose views of health and wellbeing align with my own as much as Dr. Vanes do, although Im sure plenty of them exist and that gave me a lot of confidence and excitement about becoming a patron and patient of her practice. I look forward to continuing the improvement of my own dental wellbeing with the assistance of all their combined efforts and help. They are very dedicated to what they do and are worth giving a chance compared to conventional dentistry, 10/10 would highly recommend.

The clinic is beautiful, clean and airy. All the staff were pleasant, efficient and professional. I was disappointed with Dr. Vane, however. As a new patient, I expected a warmer introduction. She entered the room behind me, never introduced herself or looked at my face, turned her attention to the computer screen and spoke about my scans to the staff as though I wasnt there at all. She was throwing around phrases like she probably needs surgery and asking her staff for answers to questions that I was most qualified to answer. She eventually sat next to me and explained some of her observations, with a mild air of condescension, or impatience. I asked a few direct questions, which I got vague answers to, and I left feeling frustrated.I was so hopeful Id find a trusted ally in my holistic healing journey, and I just didnt feel particularly cared for, or seen, by this dentist. Then, about 7 hours after my not-so-warm consultation I got a voicemail (recording?) saying Hi! This is Doctor Vane calling to personally welcome you to our clinic. Very disappointing experience. I expected a wholistic environment and received a very stressful and substandard experience. They wanted me to come in 30 min earlier then my appointment then made me wait for over 40 min… had lots of X-rays taken and spent an hour and a half having various exams but never got a referral or a treatment plan or pricing. I felt judged by both dentists for having previously had root canals and other traditional dental work done… neither dentist was willing to tell me where or how to start as far as priorities of fixing things. When I was checking out they wanted to charge me more then what was quoted over the phone. I was told the X-rays would be mailed to me but now over 3 weeks later I still haven’t received them so I’m not able to get a second opinion from another dentist. I have now followed up with their staff about 6 times and still no one had made it their priority to provide the x-rays I already piad for so I can figure out what is the best treatment option. It is a beautiful office from the outside but felt like a very stressful environment. I was ready to spend thousands getting my oral health overhauled if I was only treated with some kindness and professionalizm.

I love Dr. Vane and her practice. I was in San Diego for a couple of months last winter and needed to have some overseas dental work redone. Dr. Vane replaced two crowns and a couple of fillings. She was extremely helpful in working with my timing and schedule, answered my abundance of questions, and was very quick to resolve the couple of minor issues I had after the procedures. I would love to have her as my full-time dentist, and have considered flying in from the Midwest for my future dental work. Before making my first visit I read a lot of positive reviews, and after my experiences so far the office lives up to all the good comments. Ive gotten some cleanings and even a root canal here. All procedures went smooth, and the dentists were all super nice, informative and listened to me whenever I had any sort of concern. And… I cannot sing enough praise for Dr. Nicole Vane and the way that she runs her practice. She is thoroughly trained in top western dentistry, and also approaches care from a holistic perspective — she is trained in eastern medicine and naturopathic techniques as well, which she uses in combination with typical western dentistry approaches to treat the patient as a whole person. Can you say that about YOUR dentist!?!She and her staff thoroughly review your medical history and new patient paperwork, and you can tell, because they ask you about it when you arrive. Dr. Vane picked up minute details in my medical history, and then discussed with me about the possible connections between those physical manifestations and my current dental issues (skin/mouth/gut health).Dr. Vane also diagnosed and recommended laser treatments for gum recession which I had never before been diagnosed with. She and her team took photos, x-rays, and 3-D imaging of my head, then reviewed all images and discussed the findings with me, while projecting the images large scale in front of me so I could see exactly what was going on and where. Dr. Vane also talked with me about my history with orthodontia and the ways in which my orthodontic treatment at the time are impacting my bite now.Dr. Vane is truly a brilliant provider, and offers such modern fancy treatment approaches. My two hour laser dental treatment that included injections of Novacaine and other painful stimuli went by so quickly because I was enthralled with the Netflix show I was watching, I was so comfortable with the anesthetic, and because my dental hygienist was so calm and comforting.This review comes from the bottom of my heart. After years of searching for a holistic dentist with over 6 different Holistic dental consults I had not felt comfortable to move forward with any of those dentists. I stumbled upon Nicole Vane, DMD’s website while searching for ozone therapy. I was immediately impressed and drawn to calling the office. Even the voicemail greeting felt welcoming.During my first consult I was amazed by Dr. Vane’s wide knowledge base and her deeper desire to ensure I not only addressed the teeth issues in need of repair but also my gut and overall health. Her wall of certificates gives you a greater understanding of how she values continuing education and biological healing. She provided other recommendations to follow up on but staff do not offer a mechanism to write down her comments so not sure of the helpfulness there.I have returned several times in the last month for her services and have found what works for me while there. It does take extra effort to get your needs met, there are some challenges with the communication between Dr. Vane & her staff and the patient.As one in the 20% of the population with the high sensitivity trait, less visual and sound stimulation to better manage the repair needed. I also require a deeper understanding of the rationale and approach to what needs to be done and what are the recommendations for aftercare to support the most comfortable and quickest recovery. I have voiced my needs to the team and efforts to accommodate this were demonstrated with respect and care in the beginning but not so much now.I have also learned that scheduling my appointments with Samantha as Dr. Vane’s dental assistant is a necessity. Sam is very patient, calm, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable as well.I have definitely found trusted partners for my dental health- something I have been requesting and happy to have found. I had highly recommend Dr. Vane and Samantha but sadly just learned of a friend’s father who was charged an additional $9,000 with no explanation mid-work. Remember to trust your own intuition on who the best dental health partner is for you. Reviews and recommendations are just blips to consider.If you are a highly sensitive person, remember that your needs are different and it’s very important for you to advocate for and request what you need. Dentist Vane and receptionist Sydney showed dismissive, passive-aggressive and unprofessional attitude when I was there.Cons:-Most of the devices and equipment they claim to be cutting edge they no longer offer. They are still listed in their website but they dont really offer them anymore.-The 3D image didnt cover the entire region, so it was useless for other dentist. Insurance company wont pay for another in at least 3 more years- Dentist Vane explain the procedure(s) and answered some my questions in a hurry.-Loud practice. The music is loud. My husband and I gladly drive nearly 4 hours in each direction just to have Dr. Vane and her team care for us and our teeth.I found Dr. Vane after years of postponing my wisdom tooth extractions because I didn’t understand why I needed to remove them, and I feared what could go wrong during the procedure. Most dentists saw that I had wisdom teeth and simply confirmed the blanket statement that “wisdom teeth can cause problems down the road and must be removed,” but did not elaborate on why. Dr. Vane, however, examined each tooth individually and explained to me which of my teeth needed to be removed, which ones could stay, and why. My great nightmare of so many years actually turned out to be a smooth, successful, and even relaxing surgery... what a relief!!Dr. Vane recommended Dr. Nytko and together they did a great job in removing my wisdom teeth in a gentle and holistic way. Their holistic protocol includes using platelet rich fibrin (PRF), removing the periodontal ligament, and using ozone therapy to reduce pain, swelling and recovery time after extractions, to help clean bacteria and to promote healing of the jaw bones. The recovery process was so smooth I didn’t even need to fill the heavy pain-killer prescription. I was looking for a new dentist because my former dentist of 27 years sold his practice. I had seen the sign for Moonlight Dental many times and decided to check them out. I was able to get an appointment for a cleaning and exam quickly. Upon arrival I was greeted by their friendly staff and before long my appointment was underway. They took x-rays and pictures of my teeth. They were very thorough at looking at everything. After that came teeth cleaning. Definitely well done. I then had my exam with the dentist. She explained everything and presented her findings. Everything was well explained and all questions were addressed. There were a couple of teeth that needed some attention and they outlined the process and costs in a clear and concise manner. They definitely have up to date equipment and methods and are definitely a step beyond your average dentist. I would recommend that you give them a try. It has only been one visit, but I think that I have found my new dentist.

I have been a patient of, Dr Vane for over 10 years. When I first visited her, I came with a mouth full of poorly performed dental work from previous dentists and orthodontists. My teeth were in very bad shape, my crowns were all misshapen, they were gaping in places and they were all different shades of white. My gums were unhealthy, swollen and bled often. And whenever I smiled or laughed I would cover my mouth from embarrassment. Over the years, Dr Vane has completely changed all of that for me. Her holistic approach to dentistry is truly life changing because she not only focuses on oral health but overall physical and emotional health, because they are all linked. Dr Vane truly cares about her patients, she gets to know her patients and the coolest thing about her, IMHO is that she not only listens to what her patients say, but she also hears whats not being said...and that is truly remarkable. So I was told I needed some major work done. Im horrified of the dentist, so I knew I needed the best of the best to make this a semi-pleasant experience. I found Dr. Vane and let me tell you - she is the Ritz Carlton of dentists. She can do it all. I couldnt believe the technology she had in her office. She literally cleaned out my *extremely decayed* tooth with a LASER (and a little drilling) but STILL!! That tooth may have been a full-on root canal if it werent for Dr. Vane. She was obviously extremely well-educated and experienced in her craft. I overheard her talking about, at least, 3 different seminars shes attended recently. She also mentioned a group text, which shes in with a number of other doctors, where they discuss different procedures and share information. Shes not only great at what she does, but she also LOVES what she does. And its obvious.A little more about my experience - I had the option of watching a movie on the ceiling while I was laying down or while I was sitting up in my chair. It was so distracting, I noticed the majority of my anxiety was gone. Her lovely assistant Diana gave me headphones so I could zone in on the movie and not be forced to hear anything else (so nice). I also had the option of aroma therapy and wrist vibrators which are meant to calm your nervous system. Aubry was amazing with my teeth cleaning. Shes explained everything and told me to just wave if I felt any sort of discomfort so she could stop what she was doing.This was the best dentist experience Ive ever had... and Ive been to quite a few dentists. Awesome experience!Been to Dr Vane a few times now, and her and her staff are fantastic!The front desk staff is wonderful - they know a ton about the insurance jungle, and are very considerate about your time. The other day when they were running a bit behind, they called me a few hours ahead and asked if I could come in a bit late.A day after I had some filling replaced and cavity work done, they called just to see how I was feeling.Dr Vane is also very into the holistic side of dentistry. I just had some amalgam fillings removed, and she was incredibly careful about making sure my exposure to any mercury was as minimal as possible. When I visit Moonlight Beach dental, it feels like a spa day. Today I had my teeth cleaned by Natalie while I listened to soft music and watched flowers bloom on the large flat screen tv. I go here for my cleanings and also went here to get my amalgam fillings removed and replaced with composite Dr. Vane was very efficient and gentle. I have been going to this dentist for about two years. I originally came because of the boutique-like style and personal customer service. Needless to say this is NOT the case anymore. The customer service that I once enjoyed here is non-existent. I came in for an exam and a bi-yearly cleaning. The hygienist basically only spoke to me to tell me where to move my head and didn’t explain anything to me; so much in fact that when the receptionist asked me what services were preformed, I could only tell them “I got an X-ray and pretty sure that was a cleaning”. Here is my story, to start out I am not a fan when it comes to dentist, Im terrified and not only that embarrassed of the condition of my teeth. Do not go to this dentist!!!! I never post negative reviews, but for the sake of the public health, this place needs to be exposed. The dental hygienist I had hardly had any hygiene experience at all and cross contaminated by picking up her pen, touching my mouth, then touching the computer keypad, and then again straight to my mouth!! Apparently, she was recording my all conditions of my teeth, but I have never had this happen before. There is supposed to be another assistant who does this so as to not contaminate. Yes, this really did happen, and I now suffer the consequences of her actions. I terribly disgusted by this place every time I think of them.

Really disappointing, especially considering their good reviews. The office is very nice and has high tech machines, but thats irrelevant when its so disorganized and has really bad follow through. After my cleaning, they never sent me my treatment plan even after I followed up several times. I later found out that they lost my appointment records and also lost my insurance information. I found this out when they billed me for my cleaning over 3 months later. Again, I had to call their office to figure it out and once again provide insurance information. My experience with this dentist was incredibly frustrating...Im really glad I just got a cleaning and not a big procedure. I definitely wont be coming back.

State of the art, holistic, friendly, spa like and completely awesome.I went in knowing that I was having trouble with a previously completely root canal from 10 years ago. With a conebeam scan we were able to see what my previous dentist could not. There was a massive infection that needed to be addressed, we pulled the tooth, treated it with PRF and ozone, and I was on my way. My fourth visit and will not be returning. Each visit has been worse than the last. My time with the dentist after my cleaning was rushed, uncomfortable, and extremely impersonal. My questions weren’t really answered. Most comments were made to the hygienist in dental lingo rather than to me. Felt so rude and disconnected. This wasn’t the first time I was treated this way either. Invisalign is pushed at every visit, got forbid you are born with crooked teeth and don’t have thousands to drop to straighten them. I mentioned teeth that the dentist had previously filled were sensitive and the dentist told the hygienist, not me, that she would re-do the filling. Whattt?? The dentist has already had to “re-do” a previous filling, and for anyone who has fillings know, this is not pleasant and there was no explanation as to why this was even suggested??? Then the dentist scurried out of the room to another patient. I had to clarify everything I “over heard” with the hygienist and was like so that’s the end of my consult??? WTH. Leaving two stars only for the hygienist, Would not recommend Dr. V.

Dr. Vane is so much fun, I was laughing most of the time! I had amalgam removed- quick, painless and safely removing with vacuum suction, dental dam, protective facemask, oxygen to breathe, activated charcoal tablets and Harry Potter movie playing on the ceiling. I purchased a high-quality Liposomal Glutathione + Clay detox kit afterward too. Ive searched all of San Diego- and shes the most affordable, conscientious, efficient and friendly holistic dentist!

Wow! It is difficult to sing the praises of Dr. Vane and the staff enough. Dr. Vane facilitated consultations with facial surgery, microendodontic, and plastic surgery specialists after I had an accident. The paperwork process was very simple—all done on an iPad and only took a few minutes. From there Sam and Stephanie took me over to the 3D X ray machine which only took about 30 seconds total to complete. Very simple process and much easier than the normal way of doing X rays. Back in the chair there were tv’s on the wall and on the ceiling along with state of the art equipment. Stephanie did a great job quickly cleaning my teeth.

I 💜 this place!!!! Finding a place like this is like finding a needle in a hay stack and Im so blessed to have found the needle. They know about all the safe and natural ways to approach dentistry. I went for the ozone treatment after a tooth extraction to kill all/any infection/bacteria. Took less than 15 min and was well worth it. They also can safely remove mercury feelings for cheap.

My first periodontal prophylaxis with Haillie(sp?) was an extremely positive one. She is very sweet, very effective, very efficient and very caring. She was able to more stain in one particular area than any other hygienist in the past has.

I do not recommend coming here. Very unprofessional.Any time I called with inquiries about my next procedure or to have them pull up my records,they would promise to get back to me and never would. When I spoke with other people at the office, none of them were attentive enough to answer simple questions about my information and treatment plan on file. After I got treated by Dr. Godes with a filling on a major tooth, I was out of town and checked in with another dentist as this tooth was bothering me a lot. It was revealed this tooth had a massive nerve cavity problem and a bad cavity on the other side. I then went looking for another holistic dentist and after visiting a few, each told me they were shocked how I was in the hands of a doctor but this issue was overlooked. When they asked for referral information and specifics of what I had done with Dr. Godes, the girls at the office there were extremely unhelpful. I ended up having to spend lots to proceed with further treatments on this very tooth with Dr. Godes had told me was fine.

The care provided top notch. I wish I could give it the 5 stars it deserves. Sadly I have had serious recurring issues with their front office staff. This includes supplemental bills after service due to inability to provide an accurate billing at time of service, repeated double billing, and threats of collection for bills that had already been paid (this was eventually resolved after an audit found that fee in question had been paid - three times - and credit was issued to my account).
