They were recommended by the breeder. Dr Diehl is gentle and understanding. He was able to perform a procedure requiring anesthesia at moment of visit. My mini poodle had a baby tooth that never fell out. As a result of the two incisors butted up together, there was staining so he removed the tooth leaving the adult one and they cleaned her teeth. Price was very reasonable.We wouldve had to wait months for this type of appointment elsewhere AND a dental vet would be called to do it.VERY VERY happy and I left there with peace of mind.~Suzy Pittman

Dr Diehl is the best - I moved here from Florida and he was the doctor who took care of my Sophie the Pom - when she passed away unexpectedly last year he showed such compassion for my loss. I got a new Pom - Princess and I went in for her annual check up and I told him our sweet German Shepherd Storm passed away last Friday. He was so sympathetic and kind once again about our loss. Dr Diehl really cares and that’s so much appreciated when you are hurting over the loss of your fur baby. He is my go to doctor. His entire staff is great - so sweet and friendly. I highly recommend Montecito Veterinary Center!

I have known Dr. Grant Patrick for over a decade when he became the vet for for my two dogs, Frosty and Cosmo. He is knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate at all times, and especially willing to spend the time to explain my dogs issues in a fun, caring way.There is no better or more qualified veterinarian anywhere!

I saw Dr. Patrick and staff for vaccines and checkups for my dog and cat. I had gone to VIP for their last shots and endured a long wait and harried staff. Montecito vet was wonderful, very knowledgeable and competent and Dr. Patrick is a gem. He’s retiring but I will continue to use his clinic.

The vets working there do not really care about providing good care for your pet. All that matters to them is collecting money and charging you for unnecessary medications/tests. As their staff admit themselves, its a corporate center and is run by a corporate. Anything important that you communicate with their on call vet about your pet does not get communicated to your pets main provider and does not get documented in your pets chart. When they admit that they made a mistake and charged you extra, they say they can not reimburse you because the are a corporate The worse animal care center. They dont deserve even one star.

I took my cat in to examine a lump on his I tried another vet a few years ago and they were not very kind to my cat. Turns out that it is a sebaceous cyst that doesnt need to be removed immediately until dental work needs to be done. Patrick Grant was an amazing veterinarian for my cat who does not like strangers and gets violent when hes touched by vets. He was quick, kind, and humorous. I could definitely tell that he genuinely cares for our loved ones and wants some to receive the best care possible. I am more than relieved that I found a vet that I can take my cat to without having to worry. I would definitely recommend Patrick and I look forward to our next visit.

Dr Patrick is by far the best vet we’ve found in the Santa Rosa area. We’ve had our family pets all cared for by him and we’ve always received the best of care. Even our very timid and sometimes mean rescue cat is totally relaxed and comfortable with him. We just saw him this week for our annual checkup. Our appointment with Dr Patrick was at 9:30 and by 10:00 we were headed home with a happy cat, all our questions answered and a fair bill for services.Sadly, a false rumor was shared in Next Door that Dr Patrick had retired. Which is 100% totally false and devastating to his practice which he’s built with loving care for many years. The truth is that he lost his home in the 2017 fire and had to cut his hours back as he rebuilt and managed that devastating loss. He didn’t leave people hanging, instead he brought on additional support. Beyond being one of the best vets in Sonoma county, he’s a good guy and my hope is that he feels equally supported by our community.Kudos to this awesome clinic and the people who work hard to provide excellent services. I’m here to say that my experience is and has always been amazing.

We are new to Santa Rosa and Montecito Veterinary Center was recommended to us. We took our 3 yr. old rescue Border Collie/Pyrenees mix there to update his list of shots. The Vet, Cheryl Lanbein was very helpful and quite thorough in her exam of our dog. I was impressed and quite pleased with the overall experience and happy to be included in their list of satisfied customers.

THE best Veterinary Center in Santa Rosa. The entire staff -- from the doctors, to the team up front, checking you in -- are friendly, professionals. Every experience Ive had with Dr. Patrick and Dr. Diehl have been first class. They are so compassionate and gentle with your pet, it sets you at ease. Ive yet to meet Dr. Yan and Dr. Langbein, but I know they will be of the same caliber as the previous doctors mentioned. They HAVE to be, to be part of this awesome team.

From our first phone call to inquire about this Veterinary Center, we felt welcome and valued. We set up an appointment to establish care for our sweet and anxious older dog and were warmly welcomed when we checked in. The vet tech who brought us back to the treatment room was genuine and attentive. The veterinarian was equally genuine and attentive, and seemed relaxed, confident and competent. He was also engaging and humorous; friendly. We could tell he really cared about us, our pet and our experience. In all my years of being a pet owner, I think this was the best experience I have ever had. It was such a relief! We cant recommend them enough!

A friend whose dog had dental surgery recently highly recommended Dr. Patrick, and although I was initially told it would take a few weeks to get a new patient appointment, I was very happily surprised to get a NEXT DAY appointment for my cat to have dental surgery when they had a cancellation! Timing is everything, as they say. I was very pleased with how kind, experienced and knowledgeable Dr. Patrick is, and my cat is recovering nicely after having 9 teeth extracted! Im so glad I didnt have to wait longer (or pay more money as the vet my cat usually goes to had quoted) because my cat had a big infection going on in his mouth and is now on a 14-day injection of antibiotics. A definite thumbs up!

I recommend this veterinary clinic. Doctor Parker carefully examined the cat and cleaned his teeth and removed 2 teeth. in another clinic they told us everything was bad and at least 4 teeth were removed. and a good price for the procedure. I live 1.5 hours from the clinic but I will go to this doctor and will not regret the time

For my poochs dental hygiene visit, MVC was organized, efficient, and professional. I waited in my car upon arrival less than a minute, they came with a pre-prepared written estimate of charges which we reviewed and confirmed. They took my pooch and within 10 minutes, the vet himself came out with a preliminary review exam, indicating nothing appeared unusual or problematic. (infections, necessary extractions, etc.) I was contacted in the p.m. when she was ready for pickup, payment was made via cc over the phone, and upon arrival I called again and she came bouncing out completely unphazed and recovered from the anesthesia. Complete, printed, post care instructions were handed to me, and away we went. Best, most fair pricing in Sonoma area. Be prepared to bring all vaccination history, health record, etc. to assist them in determining th over-all health of your dog, and subsequent safety precautions necessaryWonderful, old school, hands on and EXPERIENCED vet. I will always return.

Weve been bringing Carasi to Montecito Veterinary Clinic all of his life, and hes about to be...9!!!!! But, my daughter, Aezioni normally brings him to his appointments. I have been using this Vet for about 8 years now. Just took my dog in for a routine visit to get her rabies and 1 other shot. They are super nice and friendly but when the bill came it was double from the last time she went in for the exact shots 3 years ago. I expected with inflation for it to go up, but double is just not something I can justify. Will not be returning.

I took my dachshund in for a rattlesnake vaccine, and I saw Dr. Cheryl Langbein. I was very impressed with her friendly demeanor, and she discussed my dogs health and teeth, advising on what I know were necessary procedures. My regular vet does not do rattlesnake vaccines, and now I am thinking of switching, even though I liked my regular vet quite well.

Dr. Patrick is my favorite because I have a biter cat and he knows how to handle him. He listens and explains...attributes that are hard to come by these days. My only suggestion is that one of the front desk associates needs to speak slower and lower for those of us who are venerated seniors.

I had a great experience with Montecito Vet. Dr. Diehl was very kind, and reassured me that my pup would be in good hands. My 6 year old Standard Poodle had a routine dental, and it couldn’t have been more effortless. I had an exam the day before, and dropped him off at 8am the next day. By 11 am, Dr. Diehl himself was calling me to let me know that everything went great, and he would be ready to be picked up by 3. The front staff was very efficient despite the phones ringing off the hook, and people pouring through the front door. Thank you Montecito Vet! Keep up the good work!

Montecito Doctors have cared for two of our dogs. We have seen two different Vets and they were each attentive, knowledgeableand kind to us and our pets. The office is well run and pleasant and has been responsive and good natured, even under the Covid precautions which they have handled amazingly. Dr. Patrick has been caring for my cats for many years, probably 12 to 14 cats in total. Each animal has always been treated with respect, affection, and a willingness to do anything to ensure a healthy, positive life. When a cat has become ill, he has been tireless in treating it vigorously while keeping what was best for the cat in mind, even if that means having to let the cat pass.Over the years, I have seen Dr. Patrick interact with animals other than mine, and his genuine affection for and desire to help animals is obvious. The staff at Montecito Vet are truly outstanding. I needed a new vet and switched to this veterinary office because I heard how great they were from so many people. I booked an appointment six weeks out due to them being busy and I made it known that I had a 14 year old pitbull, who might not make it to their introduction check up/ might be getting close to needing to be put to rest. I won’t go into the details, but I’ve never had to put a dog to sleep, and after having her for 10 years I wasn’t sure if I was making the right decision to do so. She had cancer, she was older and it just was time. I still felt an immense amount of guilt for doing so, and without hesitation, these amazing human beings at this establishment comforted me and helped reassure that it was the right time. I could go on and on about how they went above and beyond. I can’t speak highly enough about how phenomenal they all were to me and both of my dogs.

We love Dr. Diel. He removed a tumor on my cat and gave her several more years of life. He looked after her keeping on an eye on her kidneys as she aged. Sadly we just had to put her down at almost 21 years. They were very kind and caring.

Now that the has office expanded, I have no problem with the other Veterinarians who can see my precious pets. They ALL are on aboard to treat my pets with kindness and I get the honesty. I have never felt that this office was about making money, off the love we have for our animals! The Best in Rincon Valley...I would not consider going anywhere else, only in case of an after hour emergency.

I took my dog in for a pre-dental visit and he said no need for teeth cleaning yet, told me what to look for to know when hes ready and suggested letting him chew on a rawhide to help keep teeth clean. In other words, he wont suggest a service or procedure if your animal doesnt need it. I trust him. Have been going to Montecito Vet for 20+ years.

Dr. Diehl was kind and informative in regards to my cat, he made sure I was updated every time there was a new development. He heard my concerns and addressed them, made me feel valued. All of the technicians were also very kind. Dr. Diehl was stuck in a dental surgery that made him late for my appointment but the technicians would come in and apologize profusely and explain the situation. As happens in medical offices, whether they be for human or animal, they were running behind. After waiting for a little over 30 minutes the vet came in. I had requested a specific person and this wasnt him. Fortunately for both my little guy and me we liked this vet. He (& his assistant)were efficient, knowledgeable and last but certainly not least, caring. The front office apologized for the mix up. As it turned out my vet works on a set daily schedule and Wednesdays arent his day! I would highly recommend this office !

We had our two puppies spayed and neutered here. The veterinarian was great and the surgery went well. I wish based on that alone I was able to leave a positive review. However, when our pups went through the procedure we also opted to have their stool tested (they were recently rescued). We were told the tests came back clear and were NEVER notified of any issues. Fast forward to almost 6 months later when we contact the office for verification of these samples for a boarding facility, and they tell us FOR THE FIRST TIME that one of our dogs had in fact tested positive for Giardia. I had been hunting for a new vet clinic for my little guy. I came upon Montecito Vet Clinic by chance and after reading reviews, decided to take Bear for a vaccine update. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and Bear was seen very quickly. For whatever reason Bear came down with a fever and after calling Montecito, we were told to come in again. We were seen again immediately after been recognized and greeted with open arms once again. The Dr was able to prescribe the meds we needed and Im happy to say Bear is feeling so much better. I had to take one of my cats to the vet due to him having an upper respiratory infection. Montecito Veterinary Center was able to make a same day appointment for us. The staff was very friendly and they showed genuine concern for my cat. They ran a few tests and gave him some meds, all of which was reasonably priced. They called back a few days later with the test results, at which time I informed them my cat had not really gotten any better. Even though they had a full schedule, they got my cat in the next day to give him an appetite stimulant, some fluids and a different antibiotic. The doctor was genuinely concerned about the health of my cat and is doing everything she can to help him feel better. I would definitely recommend the Montecito Veterinary Center to anyone that has pets, the doctors and staff were all very courteous, professional and knowledgeable.

Utterly useless. One of the receptionists has always been extremely rude and callous but we let it go due to how close we lived. Recently we brought our older dog in due to an increasingly awful cough. They were unable to take an x-ray due to a broken machine and nothing was done to address it, we were told we could come back when the machine was working.We called several times to follow up, each time we were told the machine was still broken. We were offered no help to find another place or determine next steps.Our dogs cough kept getting worse and his appetite decreased, we thought we were going to have to put him down.We went to another vet and now have a diagnosis of heart failure and lymphoma and have started treatment.As far as I know, Montecito Vet Centers x-ray machine is still broken. Regardless, Ill never be back.

Montecito used to be good a couple years ago, but I get more and more disappointed every time I go. It started with the front office staff generally being unfriendly and slow. Half the time they seem more interested in socializing with each other than helping clients. There are of course a few exceptions. We have seen Dr. Diehl for some time, and while I do like him, I cant put up with the frustrations of the rest of the clinic. It is like they expanded their services, but still have the same size clinic and parking lot. A couple times weve gone, and there is nowhere to park. And the very small waiting room is packed. The last thing you want to deal with when you have a stressed pet is a tiny space full of other pets and people.

I moved to CA from NC, and brought all my animals with me. The previous vet diagnosed my cat with feline herpes. I wanted a second opinion, as I wanted to adopt kittens, but wanted to make sure Pizza wasnt contagious. Dr. Farhart prescribed an ointment for his eye for a week, and he looks so much better! I was recommended to this vet by close friends honey I have found they are inexperienced in seemingly common animal conditions. My dog was mis diagnosed by them. Its shameful even the internet can more accurately diagnose your pet. Im sure theyre great for basic services.
