Everyone from the folks at the front office to the maintenence team are extremely helpful and friendly at this complex. Cassandra always helps us with our inquiries quickly and is very knowledgeable about the tenants. Nick and Alex are courteous and professional and recently assisted us with a plumbing issue in our apartment. They kept their work area clean and wrapped up their work as quickly as possible.

I recently toured Monte Vista Apartments and was looking for a new home for me and my family . The leasing office staff and Community Manager Danielle were very informative and knowledgeable. My family and I were impressed of how well kept the community and apartments were. We definitely will be considering renting here.

The only reason I could see this place getting a bad review is if the one leaving the bad review is the one who’s causing the problems. This is a beautiful apartment complex to live. What others have complained about with management is actually what I respect the most about the management here: no nonsense for the people who act like they are the only ones who live here. I commend the great work of management here, who probably have a difficult enough job dealing with some people.I may be lucky, but my specific building is as quiet is it comes. I’ve NEVER had noise issues. My neighbors are all respectful and maintain the peace, so I guess it depends on which apartment you get.And when it comes to cockroaches, I have seen them during the warm months, never been an issue for me as I’ve only seen them in the parking lot, but I think it’s also important to add that I’ve never been to an apartment complex that hasn’t had roaches. Like, ever. It seems pretty mild here for some horror stories I’ve heard.As far as maintenance goes, once again, everyone who lives here is probably extremely lucky to have such a good maintenance team. I usually experience Nick who I’m convinced doesn’t have a negative bone in his body and is as professional as they come. We have had to call for a few things and hardly has it ever taken more than a day or two to take care of.I think if you take good care of your apartment and understand that you need to respect the community by not running around as if you’re the only people that live here, then you’ll love Monte vista. You can’t beat the location, everything feels luxurious at affordable pricing, and the team is fantastic here.

I am not one to write many reviews, but our experience at this place has been truly disappointing. My wife and I have lived here for three years, and the issues have been countless and ongoing.-COCKROACHESThe property has a huge sewer roach problem, and if you live on the bottom floor they make their way in and infest your place. Even the pest control guy himself said the property has to call the city to treat the sewer lines to fix the root of the issue. We were battling this issue for over a year consistently finding them, and despite multiple pest control visits that YOU pay for, nothing was done to fix the root of the problem. We had to take this into our own hands and eventually got a handle on the problem.-APPLIANCE ISSUESThe appliances at this place are absolutely awful, they are so old and dated. Washer/Dryer are ancient. We constantly had to put in requests to fix our dishwater and nothing was done, they would close the ticket.We now have quality appliances in our new place it and itABSOLUTLEY MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.-NO HOT RUNNING WATER FOR 5 WEEKSThis to us was absolutely insane. The property routinely shuts off the water in your apartment, honestly I cant remember a time in the three years we have been here of not having an email saying they were working on the water issues.The last month we were moving out, my wife and I had to boil water on the stove and fill up the bath tub just to bathe. The property still charged us full price for everything, including water, rent, cleaning fees, even the last three days we stayed despite not having any water whatsoever.Cassandra was great, but outside of her we were very unimpressed with this property and would not recommend. We are so happy to leave.

These 5 stars are for Nick and his maintenance crew. Nick is always super kind and helpful, is quick to respond, and always finds a fix for the problem. If can fix it he will and if not he’ll replace the part/item… either way a great weight off our shoulders to know our place is being maintained well. Came by today to fix our drains, leaky sink, kitchen drawer, and a paint touch up! The best!

I want to proceed all of this by saying residents are asked to leave good reviews for the maintenance people so they can win a prize so most of the good reviews are actually just from people liking the maintenance staff here which may be the ONLY good thing about this place. Kick rocks. Everything else is TRASH!!!Live here if you want your car and bikes stolen. Live here if you want emails notifying you about work being done hours after the work has been done and damaged things you own! Live here if you love living in a community where the property managers don’t actually care about anything but aesthetics! Live here if you want to absolutely waste your money while also hating where you live every single day! Live here if you live suffering in the summer because the AC units freeze up because they won’t update anything but paint on the outside of the building! I’ve lived in the hood for most of my life and all of that was significantly better than this overpriced gated community with no security and no actual management!!!

We visited the community without any appointment and they entertained us immediately. They even offered us a tour on one of their units. The staff accomodated us very well and theyre all nice too. They were all very understanding, there are some things that we dont understand and they patiently explained every single detail of it. We went back and forth to their office and always welcomes us with wide happy faces. During our first night, we encountered some minor problem and the staff addressed the problem until we get through it. Big Thanks! Excited to spend more days in this community!

We really have enjoyed our stay here so far (8 months).This is a very safe and quiet community that feels home-y.The grounds are lined with tall green trees and grass. Two pools, laundry on site if you need.We have a renovated apartment and the layout is very comfortable. Weve gotten compliments each time company is over.For easy reading, here are some items for why I would and would not recommend this place.Why I would:- Very quite community- Definitely feel safe here- Apartment layout is cozy and homey- Staff is friendly- Staff seems very chill, no extreme rules here that burden residents.- Havent had any major maintenance issues, maintenance fixed minor things quickly.- Parking has never been an issue- Close to everything you need in La VerneWhy I would Not:- Is a bit on the pricier side- Utilities are expensive especially for sewer/trash but I think thats a city issue.- Utilities are consistently about $120 a month for two working adults including electricity.- Not the most energy-efficient apartment, no double pane windows so AC runs more often.Overall Ive had a positive experience here and would recommend it.

My family and I lived at Monte Vista for 4 years. Maybe at one point management was good, but not anymore. Would get yelled at for kids playing with chalk on the sidewalks. Also, in the last year of living there, our apartment bathroom would vibrate extremely loud, even at 2 AM. They never wanted to come and even check it out because it was too much of an inconvenience, so they would just close the ticket. After even moving out post deposit, we were still charged nearly 3K. Yeah, minor fixes, but they even charged for resurfacing of a 2nd bathtub when we had 1 bathtub. Neighbors across from us moved out and were charged over 5.6K for repair. They basically want to just refurbish the entire apartment on your dime. Cant be happy enough to leave this place.

I love these apartment homes and I would definitely recommend to others looking for a more affordable place to stay! Cassandra is the most understanding and supportive leasing agent I have ever worked with. She was very diligent, humorous, and patient during the entire leasing/application process! Best agent I have ever encountered through my experiences with applying to many different places. Terry is also great and very professional. Never had an issue with either of these two.Apartment living is not perfect. Each complex will have its issues with maintenance, neighbors, etc. But personally, I do enjoy living here. The walls are decently thick, so noise issues with neighbors or housemates are very rare in my experience. Overall, the community is friendly and it feels very home-y. Everytime I walk my dog, neighbors will happily greet me and then go on about their day. The atmosphere is great!I would note that these apartments hold many younger adults probably between the ages of 20-30 (at least from what Ive noticed), which is cool because I feel more apart of the community being a young adult myself.Overall, I love the staff and community here. I find that the people are a lot less intimidating than places Ive lived previously. Community amenities are nice and well kept!

Me and my boyfriend just moved here and the staff have been incredibly helpful and attentive. Cassandra has helped us since the beginning when we first looked at apartments here and has been great ever since. We recently met Veronica and Terry, who are just as wonderful. And the maintenance is fantastic here! Shout out to Ruben! He has fixed everything in our apartment that has needed it and keeps to his word when he says he will be back. Overall, the staff have definitely made our move here 100% better and Id recommend this complex just because of the staff!

Ive had some bad experiences with other apartments but that isnt the case at Monte Vista Apartments. Not only are the apartments nice but the staff is amazing! The manager Danielle was very welcoming & friendly & answered all of my questions that I had. Moving is stressful but Danielle helped make the process a whole lot easier!

I lived at monte vista for 2 years and had relatively positive experiences during the time i lived there. First i’ll start with management, if youre looking for a warm welcome, excellent communication, and to to feel like your needs are always a priority then Cassandra is your girl! She really goes above and beyond even for small little things and it definitely doesn’t go un noticed. I think that between Danielle and Terry there is a lot of room for improvement. Communication between the two is lacking to say the least and after going around in circles with them over and over i avoided communication with both of them at all costs. Trust me, save yourself the headache and the back and fourth nonsense and immediately ask for Cassandra! She really cares about her tenants and takes pride in her work, Monte Vista is LUCKY to have her. Maintenance was wonderful and handled all of our requests quickly and were always super nice! The apartments over all were nice and the complex was always well maintained, plus having a washer and dryer in the unit is a total game changer! I would have given 5 stars but the amount of times we were forced to deal with staff that doesn’t communicate effectively with us let alone each other is the reason for 4/5 stars.

Came in for a tour, and fell in love with Monte Vista Apts. Their floor plans are very nice! Lovely quartz countertops, gas stove is a must for me. Love that the community is pet friendly! Danielle and her staff are amazing! Definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

This place has gone downhill quickly over the last 2 years.Staff are prone to accidents and don’t abide by their own lease agreement. Depending on who you know, you can get away with a lot.Residents have been allowed to put up cameras to monitor their neighbors and common areas.Children have been allowed to whatever they want in the pools (and are constantly out of service).The grounds are spacious, but kids constantly ride their bikes on the sidewalks and there’s always garbage outside. At night you get eaten alive by bugs. Staff do not seem to care about these issues.They are desperate to fill their vacancies. Just beware!

I have lived in Monte Vista for over 3 years and I would really recommend them for many reasons, especially the people. Everyone who works at Monte Vista is so professional, kind, friendly, and makes the place seem like a community instead of just an apt complex. The apt manager Cassandra is so sweet and will greet you by name when she sees you around. All the other staff also make sure to wave and say hello when they see you. Any maintenance issues I had were fixed within a day, usually I’d hear back within the hour and they would come over right away. They even completely replaced my furnace and AC when it broke. Management is always doing little projects to beautify the complex, such as adding landscaping, replacing the roof, and modernizing all the facilities. Additionally, neighbors are very friendly and outgoing and everyone seems very down to earth around here. Monte Vista has really felt like a home to me and I am honestly sad to be leaving. I will really miss having a gorgeous view of the mountains from my couch and the giant picture windows! I also want to add that La Verne is a really nice, safe, quiet neighborhood and I often went for walks or jogs around the area. If you are looking for a comfortable, suburban lifestyle, Monte Vista would be perfect for you.

Run! They will lie and make up stuff to keep your deposit.I had to take my case to a small claims suit and was able to get some of my money back. Unfortunately the court did not grant me punishing damages, which I totally believe they deserve so they do not keep on preying on people’s good faith but at least they had to returned what they unlawfully kept.If you decide to rent here take tons of pictures when moving in and before leaving, even from inside if cabinets, yes you read correctly, they will charge you for painting inside of those old, old, old kitchen and bathroom cabinets.Take fotos of the carpet before you move in and when you move out, they will claim the carpet needs stretching and if you let them get away they will charge you for replacing the carpet and not doing it.Be ready for the water being shut off regularly and not having hot water during the winter, this last winter (2022/2023) we did not have hot water, we barely had lukewarm water to shower.I wish I read the reviews before moving in, I would have found something else and not have gone through the nightmare of moving out.

We lived there for 2 years and don’t have a single negative thing to say. We moved out in Feb 2021 and miss it everyday. We would recommend Monte vista to everybody! The staff is so nice and helpful. Maintenance requests were always handled within 24 hours, but normally less. We were always notified if anything was going to be happening on the grounds, like repairs on buildings or water being shut off for example. Everything seemed to be done at convenient times as well. The team at Monte vista continually worked to improve the apartments and grounds, while also fostering relationships. Our neighbors were all also very friendly, and the amenities were very nice! Can’t beat in room washer and driers!

Been here for about a year and a half. We are great tenants. I own 3 businesses and can easily afford rent. We have been staying here where we have been house shopping for the perfect place. The management here is completely rude disrespectful and unhelpful. Their auto pay system is complete trash and it does not account for any changes in utilities and has your preselect a rental payment amount instead of just adjusting the total itself, so if the amount you predetermine is not enough to cover the full total of rent and utilities they will send you embarrassing and threatening letters taped to your door as if you’re some type of scumbag who can’t pay rent saying you have three days to pay or you will be evicted. No phone calls no emails just a threatening letter. I would gladly pay $1000 a month more anywhere else than to stay here any longer. If you were considering getting apartment here I suggest literally almost anywhere else. Neighbors are noisy and no matter how much you complain they do nothing about it. They did touch up painting on the carports and over sprayed on our Very nice LTZ Tahoe. They are constantly shutting off the water due to plumbing issues . They give the perception of being nice but it’s not. Do not live here. You’ve been warned.

My family and I moved in a 1 1.2 ago. When we first started looking for a place to live.montevista was the first place we came to. After going in office and taking tour. We knew we had found a great place to live. Not only is this complex super quite. Its very well maintained. Swimming pools are always clean as well as restroom.it also has a security patrolling nightly.the maintenance crew is awesome when you need something repaired they are on it. Within a few hours repairs are done.Office personal are amazing. Margaret makes you feel very welcome. And always greets you with a smile.Margaret also take pride in her complex.Thanks again Margaret and Casandra for all your help. My family and I had to move out while our house was being repaired due to a pipe breaking. I cannot say enough great things about Monte Vista Apartments. It is well kept, has every amenity you could possibly need, and flexible leasing options. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. Casandra and Danielle in the leasing office are so kind and made sure that everything went smoothly during our time living at Monte Vista. They even handled out WILD insurance company. Also our dogs were able to come and stay with us! Thank you again.

I lived there for almost a year and this place was terrible. They have a roach & spider infestation in the entire complex !!! At night if you’re walking around you’ll see roaches just running all over. It’s disgusting and there pest guy doesn’t even really try to spray he did the bare minimum. There was always issues with the water always had to turn it off. I wouldn’t recommend anyone even live here mainly because of THE ROACHES!! It’s seriously infested especially if you’re on the bottom floor. And spiders really were everywhere. They’re maintenance was also terrible and they don’t even know what they’re doing half the time

My family and I have lived at the Monte Vista Apartments for a year now, and we absolutely feel so BLESSED to be living here. Everyone from the leasing office and maintenance are so helpful and always willing to give a helping hand. These apartments are a great place to raise your families. They are safe and in the middle of everything (shopping wise). When my husband and I were looking for an apartment to live in we made sure to look for safety of the area, friendliness and professionalism of the staff and an area where our children could live in and Monte Vista definitely hits all the requirements of our checklist. Thank you Monte Vista for creating such a warm environment for our family to live in from the cleanliness of the complex to the beauty of all the plants, the ease of getting appointments for maintenance and just all around professionalism you all uphold.

While no complex will be 100% perfect 100% of the time, this review is to highlight the maintenance team, specifically German. He is quick to respond and fix any maintenance issues weve had & very efficient. I appreciate the fact that he is not dismissive when we try to explain or describe any concerns we are having & provides updates when the repairs require parts not on hand. He is definitely a big help and adds value to this complex.

I have lived here at Monte Vista a little over a year now and let me tell you that the office staff and maintenance staff is excellent. They respond to all concerns and work orders in a timely manner. Danielle is very professional and will take care of all your needs. This is a very convenient place to live as well because all markets, gas stations, movie theater, and everything else you would want and need is really close distance. 10/10 highly recommend Monte Vista.

Our family have lived here for 4 years now and really appreciate the value of our complex. We are surrounded by polite and respectful neighbors. We thankfully have never experienced theft of packages & when delivered to the wrong address, our neighbors have brought our packages to us. Original management team was replaced about 3 years ago and this new team have been helpful and return calls & emails (when unavailable) in a timely manner. Our maintenance team are very professional & respectful of property, making every effort to assist as soon as possible. Having in-unit washer/dryer is a plus. Plenty of parking. So glad to have found this place when we were looking for a home.

Dont move here if you plan on getting your security deposit back. They make up reasons to take the money from you. We lived in two apartments here (moved from upstairs to downstairs), and when we moved out of first apartment they charged us for carpet cleaning when we had already cleaned the carpets ourselves. They stated we needed to have the carpet cleaned by a service that can give a receipt. We gave them the apartments back cleaner than they gave to us both times. Then when we moved out of second apartment they charged us for carpet replacement (we got a old dog when we moved downstairs). Hilarious because the dog was never in that room, but they got a fraudulent carpet inspection to state that the carpet was stained and saturated. They also filed an insurance claim for the carpet replacement against the rental insurance they make you buy. This was ridiculous for two reasons. It was under the deductible, so insurance would not pay, and it was a fraudulent claim. They withdrew the claim. Now we are going to file a small claims court case against them to get our money back.In addition when we moved into the second apartment we needed the first floor apartment for our aged dog, so we accepted an apartment that had 8 maintenance issues. We had to chase maintenance continuously for weeks to get these issues resolved. One example was a microwave door handle that was broken and they replaced with a second hand handle, and then at walk out they wanted to charge us for the microwave condition until we reminded them that they had put that handle on in the first place.Here is our advice. Be very persistent to get any maintenance done. Some issues take 3-5 calls to office and are done cheaply. Take pictures of everything when you move in. Fill in the move in paperwork, or they will forget the condition when you moved in and charge you for things that were pre-existing when you moved in. Ask for the pre-inspection when you move out. If your carpet is clean, you will likely have to pull it up yourself and take pictures so you can fight them on that issue, since their inspector is not honest. They didnt allow us to be present for the inspection and THEY CHARGE YOU FOR THEIR INSPECTION (which is not legal by the way).We are still battling with them. This is a complete SCAM of a place to live. I honestly do not believe any of the 4-star reviews are legit. Where to begin...move in was atrocious as I was moving from an hour away. I had my moving truck, friends and family from out of town ready to help us move-in and they did not tell us we had to complete a walk-through before giving us the keys. Even though our deposit was paid, they would not give us the keys until the walk through was done. All of our friends and family had to wait an hour with all of our stuff on the truck, etc. They use a third party for everything (probably because they get some sort of kick back) so utilities and renters insurance are way over priced. The utilities has a ton of extra charges, and the renters insurance was twice what my company quoted me although I couldnt use my company because Monte Vista uses specifications others will not meet. The lease is 50 pages! There is fine print on everything. In the two years we lived there, the water was shut off for emergency repairs 27+ times! We had cockroaches and spiders so we could not enjoy the backyard and they would not assist with clearing the overgrown weeds, constant leaves, or bugs. There was water damage in the walls and mold in the bathroom upon move-in. Unfortunately we stayed due to pandemic difficulties.The move out process was the worst I have ever experienced. We cleaned our apartment thoroughly and were not told until two weeks before move out that Monte Vista charges for cleaning service regardless of how clean it is. They said they do not believe in normal ware and tear (WHICH GOES AGAINST CA STANDARDS) and it would be impossible to get our full deposit back no matter what we did They said they would charge for painting regardless of how clean the walls were. No matter how much we cleaned or painted- they told us it would have to fit their standards otherwise they would charge us. At the move out walk through they had us blindly sign the paperwork without showing us what we were dinged for (ILLEGAL). They charged us $800 out of the $1000 using third party vendors that are extremely expensive. We offered to paint ourselves but they wouldnt give us a paint sample and said it wouldnt meet their standards anyway. Their expectations are impossible to meet and ridiculous. INCREDIBLY UNETHICAL. Please do not move here. They will run you for every dime, lie to you, and put on a fake smile saying they hear your complaints. It is disturbing that this place is allowed to do this and take advantage of their tenants.

The staff here works well with the tenants to verify all is staying safe during this time of uncertainty! If have any questions, they answer then in a timely manner as well as a professional manner. They keep the community updated on all the maintenance whether emergency or planned regularly through email! I have to say, I never really write reviews for anything. However the positive impact we experienced, must be shared. Not only are the apartment grounds well maintained, but the actual units are very nice and updated as well. Went to visit in the evening. I highly recommend it. It was around 5:30 pm self viewing. Walk around some . In the 5 mins I walk around I smelled weed coming from a completely closed window apartment. I saw a man sitting on a balcony smoking a cigarette. If you care about non smoking this isnt the place. The staff in the office was helpful and nice.

I have been here for many years and have seen many changes. Always for the better. The construction noise was worth it. Work orders are done promptly and the staff is courteous. When the water went out for weeks over a couple of years ago due to gas/water line maintenance, they brought in a portable shower trailer on the site by our building. I didnt ask for, but they moved my parking spot closer to my apartment building. Not too many places will do that.Many people wait till the last minute to bring up an issue and dont read their contracts or will do any research. Remember to always bring up your issues right away and even any solutions if you have them. The current management listens!

We have lived here for 4 years now and we love it. The apartments are perfectly located near the Edwards Theatre, Chili’s, shopping and other restaurants in walking distance.The interior of the apartments are updated and very spacious. The layout is perfect too. You feel like you’re in a real home.The community offers two pools with gazebos and barbecues and a nice gym.If you’re looking for an apartment in La Verne, look no further. You’ll want to call this place home.

I think anyone who knows about finding a place to call home can be very stressful. I want to personally say thank you to Daniella who made the experience of applying for an Apartment much easier. My husband and I were so impressed by the professionalism she showed not only with helping us as well as handling a crisis on site. During my 2 year stay the office staff and maintenance staff were very polite and helpful. So I was extremely surprised and shocked at the unethical billing tactics utilized upon move out. Carpet and paint had normal wear and tear yet they are charging to replace carpet and repaint. The carpet can be cleaned, but I have observed that they replace the carpet when anyone moves out. That is nice, however they should not be billing tenants for their remodeling. Such a poor experience, I am beyond disappointed and saddened.

To some extent, we enjoyed our stay at the Monte Vista Apartment complex. However, frequently having the police called to the area and coming out to find people handcuffed and sitting on the stairs motivated us to start looking elsewhere as we have children.Our current issue with the company and complex is getting our security deposit back. We moved out at the beginning of February and still don’t have it. We were told it was mailed mid-February, but never received it. Upon communicating with the office, we were told it would be reissued in the beginning of May. And still nothing. I even checked back in with the office to see how long it would take to be mailed and was told 21 days. A month went by, and I reached out again, only to be told it was never actually reissued.

Made several complaints to the office to handle this situation but have failed in doing so. Police have been called and yet things seem to remain the same. Office staff are rude and have no management skills. Seems like their in it just for a pay check and nothing else. They have no customer service skills. Especially the females running the office. Very bad experience so far...it supposed to be a Newly REMODELED apartment (and thats why we pay higher rent) but every summer the A/C unit is down because of a bad leak. Last summer we spent most of August (the hottest month) without A/C. Because of the leak they came and installed some annoying machine to dry the wall 24/7 and we couldn’t handle the voice so we spent the month at my relatives.They said they are gonna refund the time we spent without A/C but they did not. The refund was only for a tiny portion.And now the A/C unit is leaking AGAIN!!!We call the office no answerWe call the maintenance guys no answerThats not acceptable anymore.
