Fantastic hotel in lovely Healdsburg! All the rooms are bungalows, so you get plenty of space and privacy. Decent pool and workout area, and the deep-tissue massage at the spa was awesome! Breakfast was pretty good, and the poolside food was average. Beware that all the luxury and impeccable service comes with a hefty price tag, though.

I was so looking forward to dinner with my wife at this beautiful location. Sadly, we couldnt have been more disappointed.We booked our table for 7.30 but our table wasnt ready for 25 minutes. We were disappointed that front of house lady didnt seem to think it was an issue. Offering a glass of wine whilst we waited would have offset some of the frustration.Upon seating, no server came to our table. After over 10 minutes I had to find one to serve us.Jason, our server, was the only positive experience from our evening and did everything he could to try and make it up to us.The food wasnt good. My duck was undercooked and the fat wasnt rendered so I couldnt eat it. Although my wifes Pithivier was flavorsome, it was burnt on the bottom.Jason, again tried to rectify the issue but we lost our appetite and just wanted to leave.To wrap it up, It took over 25 minutes to get our car from the valet. They clearly couldnt handle the fact that they were hosting a wedding at the same time.Beautiful location but sadly, a terrible experience.

This place was amazing ! The staff and service were top notch. They were always asking what we needed. Hazel Hill restaurant was delicious and our server Theresa was amazing she was so kind and knowledgeable and gave us a memorable experience. No matter where you look on this property you see beauty everywhere. We would stay at this property again.

Loved the food for lunch and the scenery outside of the restaurant overlooking the hills behind it were lovely. We had lunch at Hazel Hill for Sonoma Restaurant week and found the food good and the prices reasonable as compared to any other restaurant in Santa Rosa. We went back a second time and enjoyed it as well.The bread delivered to the table was excellent and warm. It came from a local Santa Rosa french bakery. The califlower soup was very good and the salads large. I also had the chicken Milanese which was done to perfection. All in all the prices were in line with other restaurants in the area and the settings overlooking the valley quite beautiful. I cant wait to go back and eat on their outdoor patio once warm clear weather returns.

I was super hyped to have a wine / dine experience with the family. We made a reservation and had a idea to also stay in the hotel.Yesterday I called if we could maybe have a last minute deal for 2 rooms because we arrived around 20:00 so we where only staying for a short period (less then 15 hours).They said they could fix something @ the reception when we arrived.When we did the manager took 1 hour to come up with a price. We had to walk 3 times to the reception while having dinner instaid of him coming to us to tell it. He leaves a note with a price 200$ dollars higher then online advertised, this place is a jokeThe food was horrible, and the mentality of the business is not ok.Don’t waste your money on a “fake” resort.I ate the most disgusting steak in the USA.

If you re looking for a wonderful couples getaway in the California wine country, this is the place. Location, accommodations, and service are outstanding. The food and service at the Hazel Hill restaraunt is outstanding. About an hour from the rugged pacific coast, and surrounded by wine tasting opportunities, and world class resteraunts. A really special place, and many thanks to the wonderful staff.

There is never a bad time to visit. Had drinks and bites in the newly renovated Scout bar with friends after Christmas. The decor was festive, elegant and beautiful. Drinks are always delicious with local hits and seasonal flavors. Crudite is always a huge hit with the miso hummus. We felt welcomed and so well cared for.

From the moment we arrived at the Montage, we were met with excellent service. This level of service continued our entire stay, whether we were lounging by the pool, at dinner, or riding the e-bikes into town. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are luxurious and secluded. The staff are friendly and attentive.The only negative is that now i am ruined for future vacations because I will always be comparing them to this place...

The most wonderful hotel experience I have ever experienced! We were met with the utmost hospitality from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Everyone we encountered was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful. A special shout out to John Paul... he took us around the property to and from our rooms several times and was so thoughtful, prompt, and kind.

My wife and I went to Montage to celebrate a special occasion. It is the 2nd time we have stopped by as we live in the area and thought we would try again. Unfortunately, after being there for approximately 20 minutes sitting at a table, we were completely ignored. There was plenty of staff. Not one staff member acknowledged us. We walked out to get our car. No contact at any time. Very disappointed. Beautiful setting does not guarantee good service.

I booked this as a part of a birthday surprise and the Montage team made it extra special. They accommodated ALL my requests and really made my stay enjoyable and comfortable. Ginny and every member of the staff was a delight!! And the rooms were STUNNING!I also appreciate the concierge helping to make my itinerary. Archery was easy to book and tons of fun. The e-bikes that were available were also great for riding in the Healdsburg area.Not to mention the Spa!! One of the best massages I’ve had EVER!Definitely planning to come back to Montage. We didn’t stay here as we lived in the area but had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant. Their breakfast was phenomenal. Breakfast food is pretty straightforward but theirs was quite memorable. The eggs were top quality, the bacon was excellent and the home fries were cooked perfectly. The hot sauce, however, was the best I’ve ever had and I’m not a big fan of hot sauce. My wife had the waffles and she couldn’t have been happier. Service was five star and our coffees were refilled without even having to look their way. We look forward to staying here when we head back to Healdsburg to visit.

If you are wanting to wine taste in luxury, then this place is a must stay! The food quality at the restaurant on location is superb. The spa treatments are highly recommended, especially if you need help relaxing after a long day of wine tasting - the couples exploring the senses treatment is a nice indulgence. They are located minutes from Healdsburg and a number of great vineyards. They also have miles of hiking trails and bikes available on request.

We had high expectations for this resort and it exceeded them all! The interiors are gorgeous and every little detail has been thoughtfully designed. The guest rooms are very private and you feel completely immersed in nature. Every staff member we interacted with was so well-trained and professional without the service ever feeling forced. We were celebrating a birthday and they even had a small birthday cake in the room on arrival. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!

Talk about being spoiled, this is a great place to get away from it all…..in luxurious surroundings. Imagine taking a quick golf cart ride to your room which happens to be among the vineyards in a secluded valley. Food and drink are excellent here. My favorite activity was to have a swim in the pool after an afternoon of wine tasting. Don’t forget to play bocce ball too. The staff are very gracious and accommodating. A very refined hotel experience.

And this after staying at plenty 5-star properties all over the world.Nestled is a little valley offering complete privacy and tranquility just north of Santa Rosa, Montage Healdsburg is an oasis in Northern Californias wine country. Designed for privacy, calm and enjoyment of nature (and of course wine!) everyone in our family enjoyed this weekend getaway to the fullest. The staff are wonderful with our children. Paintbox was a big hit as the adults relished in an evening knowing the kids were well cared for. Crafting and learning were on the agenda in addition to some video games.The pool was nicely heated, even for the coldest of winter days around here. Every wish was taken care of.The concierge was excellent both prior to our arrival and during our stay.

The Montage Healdsburg is truly a 5-Star luxury resort nestled among vineyards in the Sonoma wine country. We stayed 3 nights in a spacious and beautifully appointed King Suite overlooking the vineyards. Our scenic views off the back balcony in the cool mornings and evenings really took advantage of the firepit. The fire pit was easy to use with a timer dial like a hot tub. My wife enjoyed the wonderful spa facility with a great massage, while I relaxed by the heated pool and jacuzzi. We tried both the Hazel Hill Restaurant and Scout Field Bar - the food was delicious and the service outstanding. The staff has an incredible gift of hospitality making us feel both welcome and comfortable at the spa, pool, restaurants, and valet services. The concierge was great arranging a wine tasting at Silver Oak Vineyards and helping with their limo to/from Healdsburg. We enjoyed some early morning hikes through the Montage and across the road into the Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Reserve. Highly recommend this unique, relaxing and beautifully designed resort!

Had a family dinner at the restaurant while on vacation. The food was great but the service was very poor for an establishment like the montage. The best service we got was from the water pourer. We were virtually ignored by everyone else. The waitress didnt even tell us the specials for the evening or offer us dessert.

I came to the Montage to photograph a wedding and the setting does not disappoint. There are beautiful grounds with lush vineyards, rolling hills with oak trees and modern architecture. The rooms are spacious with comfortable details.The ceremony space was intimate and private even though it was close the lobby and restaurant. All of the staff were friendly, attentive and did their best to ensure a delightful experience.Post-event, I had a couple of mocktails at the Scout Field Bar. I loved the Doras Delight which included strawberry, basil and club soda. Wasnt so much a fan of the Forager which I found to be quite bitter. The bartender was super accommodating and let me try the Manzanita and it was 10 times better.I would recommend the Montage to any couple that wants a beautiful wedding setting and luxurious details. The bar was wonderful and the outdoor dining options are so scenic.

Spent an absolutely wonderful night here celebrating my boyfriends birthday. The staff was so welcoming and helpful with checking in and shuttling us to our room, which they also upgraded for us. We had our wedding at Montage Healdsburg and it was perfect in every way possible. Incredible property, food/drinks, and service! They made us feel like royalty and they were so accommodating to us and our guests. The property sweeps you away, it feels like youre in a super remote, gorgeous escape. We cant wait to come back for anniversaries to spark amazing memories from our wedding. Everything is quite expensive, but worth it if youre willing to splurge on a special occasion.

The absolute worst service I have ever experienced from a luxury resort. We had issues all week but the worst was the front desk not honoring anything I asked them to do the night before checking out as I needed to leave site at 4:45am to make my flight. At 4:30am we were suppose to have a golf cart pick us up from our room as we have all of our luggage and most is full of wine and very heavy. The cart didn’t show up at 4:30am so I made a call to the front desk. No answer. I called 4 times in a row…..no answer. My wife and I had to hike down to the front desk with all of our luggage and found no one was at the front desk. The walk is quite long and is all down hill from our room. What makes this crazy is the night before I got with the front desk about sending a golf cart at 4:30am and to have my car ready at valet. I also asked if they would like me to check out the night before as I was unsure if the front desk would be manned by anyone and was told “oh, no sir! Some one will be here!”. When we checked in to the resort we told them we had a super early flight and was told it wouldn’t be an issue to have someone pick us up with a golf cart and have our car ready and we had the same conversation the night prior to leaving.This place is all lip service.The positives: the valet folks, golf cart folks, and hired drivers for the in house car service were fantastic.This story is just one of a few that took place and shouldn’t have at such a high end establishment.I will return to Sonoma Valley but I will not be staying at the Montage.Montage management, this issue occurred at 430am on July 7th. Had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Montage Healdsburg - highly recommend!One thing that stood out in particular was the incredible amount of detail they put into their service. We went there to celebrate my mom’s 65th birthday, and when we arrived, all of the staff knew and wished her a happy birthday. Throughout our time there, there were so many personal touches that made us feel like family. A special shoutout to Ginny in particular, who went above and beyond in making sure my mom had a special time there (my mom and her friends could not stop raving out her even after the trip). She delivered us a fruit basket with a personalized note on the day of my mom’s birthday, helped us make a reservation to a dinner spot that was full, and came to see us consistently throughout to make sure we were enjoying our stay. She even waited by the hotel entrance as we left to wish us goodbye. Another shoutout to Cheyenne as well, who provided excellent pool-side service. One specific moment was when she noticed my mom really enjoying the smoothie sample at the pool - she went ahead and made my mom an entire complimentary smoothie.Such amazing hospitality - will definitely be back!

My parents havent been able to visit my family in Healdsburg for two years, so when they decided to come this month, we knew we wanted a special dinner together. Hazel Hill Restaurant was our first choice.From the moment you start up the drive to the hotel, you know you are somewhere special. We had a group of seven, and our server, Jason, was professional, knowledgeable about the menu and extensive wine list, and was highly personable.We started the meal with the special - complete with truffles shaved fresh tableside by the chef. Our group was diverse, and we were all treated with care and respect.The end of the meal was the perfect punctuation to a perfect meal. We had each of the gorgeous desserts, and enjoyed a sweet conversation about memories the flavors brought up.Customer service, attention to details, high end finishes in every single way, professionalism and class all were the foundation for a beautiful and delicious meal. Top of the line, and way out of my comfort zone. Ultra Modern. Only valet parking and golf carts to and from the parking lot. You need more money as G-d to stay here. We were here for a wedding. The food was unique, tasty and excellent; well presented. The views are expansive. The pools so well disguised I never saw them. Im just too middle class to be comfortable here, but the family members who stayed were impressed by the rooms and services. Its new and expanding... building an exclusive neighborhood in lovely vineyard settings outside of Healdsburg.

Excellence at every level.My husband and I decided to staycation at the Montage Healdsburg from our home in San Francisco as a Thanksgiving getaway, and we are so glad we did.From start to finish, the service was 5-star. Everyone at the resort was so kind, engaging, and helpful. There was a genuine sense that everyone truly liked their job and wanted to be there. It just added to the beautiful ambiance of the resort itself and made it such a magical experience.The accommodations were next level. We stayed in a forest view king suite that boasted floor-to-ceiling windows, a spa-like bathroom with amazing large tub and outdoor shower, and space for entertaining guests with a gracious open concept living/dining room and abutting powder room. It also had a large outdoor deck that ran the length of the suite and featured a beautiful fire pit we enjoyed throughout the day. The way the resort is laid out is more like a small community, with carless roads winding throughout the forested hillsides and centered around a beautiful vineyard. It was so nice just wandering throughout the property!One thing that took me by surprise was how they made the stay not just special for us, but our two dogs. They provided beds, a crate, water and food bowls, a handwritten note addressed personally to each dog, and even gift boxes for them with treats, poop bags, wipes, and wine-themed chew toys. Wow! Everyone who worked there was always sure to greet them, play with them, and make sure our “kids” were welcomed just as much as we were.We opted to eat at the resort for the duration of our stay, including Thanksgiving dinner, and were impressed with the quality of food, presentation, and service. There’s no bad seat in any of the restaurants and things were always lively and spirited. Even if you’re just looking for a place in the area to dine, the Montage is a fabulous option.Overall, I can’t say enough how impressed and grateful we were for our experience at the Montage Healdsburg. We now have a new Thanksgiving tradition that we will look forward to for many years to come!

Beautiful setting, most of the staff is great, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Our entrees at dinner took over an hour and we had to cancel the order. The pool food menu the next day was bare bones - turns out they lost two chefs and there was a kitchen fire. I’m sympathetic to it being hard to run a new restaurant and staffing these days being challenging, but they’ve got a ways to go before we would consider staying here again

Lost luggage (wasnt found until the next day), zero help from concierge (had to follow up after no response for days pre-stay), front desk not helpful (dont communicate with rest of staff), restaurant service incredibly slow. My party and I have shared detailed feedback with the hotel but unfortunately responses have been lacking and ironically required further follow up. Just want to warn people that while this property is beautiful the service is lacking. Recommend one of the many other gorgeous properties WITH good service in the area.

My husband and I stayed here this May and we loved it! We brought our puppy, Biscotti, and everyone was so welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate us and our pup!The food at the restaurant was great too and we thought the service was great. This is a relaxing resort, nestled in the forest. They had archery also which made for a really nice touch because my husband has a bow.My only complaint is how drastically the prices have increased. I do not know if I can justify spending $2,500 for one night!

Not only because of the beautiful property, but the welcoming staff. Gabriella was our server and she surprised us and welcomed us with a glass of champagne to start our experience. The food was over the top amazing And we enjoyed every bite. The only thing that changed our experience was we had to move away from our table with a beautiful view because the people next to us had a dog that wouldn’t stop barking. It was very annoying and the dog won because we had to move and other couples moved to have a peaceful meal. I love dogs but think uncontrollable dogs shouldn’t be allowed in the restaurant inside or out.We will be in Cabo in October and plan to check out Montage there and see the gorgeous view and try their food.

If youre a local, dont give this place your business. They treat locals like 2nd class citizens. I was given a gift card for the spa and they wouldnt let me schedule an appointment on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Im unable to use it during the week as I work. They suggested I put myself on a waiting list... like Im going to wait by the phone for them to grace me with an appointment?I tried for 2+ weeks to get it refunded. The rooms are spacious and the resort had lots of activities to enjoy. I especially loved all of the outdoor seating areas you find our the resort. Perfect socially distant places to relax.Location to town is 10 minutes! Lots of great little restaurant and shops to explore there too. The hotel even has a house car to take you there if available.The concierge team assisted us with last minute tasting reservations at a handful of wineries. Their expertise and knowledge helped make our trip extra special.The food! Breakfast in their grab and go cafe is delightful. I really liked their coffee. Blue goat, I believe. Lots of choices and the presentation is very nice. We had coffees and croissants and sat on the veranda overlooking the vineyards for a leisurely morning.We enjoyed dinner outside on the terrace and they had placed heaters all around so we were comfortable. The food was delicious and the duck fat fries are a must order.The landscape at the resort is already beautiful. I definitely want to return when it’s harvesting season and the vines are mature.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Montage Healdsburg and it was lovely. The drive up to the property is gorgeous, windey, hilly, lots of trees and trails for hiking.We were a little early for our reservation, so we wandered to the bar patio and enjoyed the view. Lots of seating with a gorgeous view of Mt. St Helena. There is a beautiful fireplace.We were seated at the window with a perfect view. Our server was fantastic, knowledgeable, didnt rush us. We started with cocktails and we ahared a snap pea dish, which was topped with a vegan dressing made from cashews.We all had the house salad of fresh greens. The dressing was a bit too acidic and could have benefitted from some olive oil.For entrees we had the waygu steak, two had halibut, and one chicken. Every bite was delicious. The steak was perfectly done. The fish and chicken were tasty and not dry and the accompaniments were delicious.We finished with the semifreddo, and a celebration flourless chocolate cake.We enjoyed our visit, the property, the food. Staff were all great.

We went up to Healdsburg for new years eve weekend and decided to try the Montage as it had just opened a few weeks prior. Weve stayed at their resort in Maui and loved it, so figured this might be a nice option closer to home.The grounds are stunning! The rooms are more like individual bungalows which offer a little more privacy then your regular resort and beautiful views! While the vines are still growing in, the vineyards are beautiful and the surrounding trees are gorgeous. There is definitely a peaceful feeling to the resort. I cant wait to see the grounds in a few more years after everything has grown in.The rooms are quiet and nicely furnished. The TV setup allows you to cast any of your streaming services which is a nice touch. The bathroom has the nicest bathtub Ive ever seen/used and even has a built in niche for the pillow which was amazing. The balcony has a personal fire feature, couch, and a small table to eat at.The food was truly incredible. I loved that they offered a specialty dinner for the season AND a specialty dinner for the holiday on top of their normal menus. We had all of our meals in room (hello covid) and none of them disappointed. The only negative I have is that the hot chocolate was more of a hot milk with the tiniest bit of chocolate in it. If not for the very light brown tint to it, I might have doubted there was chocolate in it at all. Aside from that I was happily surprised with all the food we ate.I cant speak for the amenities as the spa and hot tubs were closed due to Covid. The pool was open and gorgeous but it was cold so we passed.The staff were professional, friendly, and went out of their way to help with any of your needs. A notch above most hotel staff.Overall I would definitely go back to the resort and would recommend it to anyone considering it! We are already thinking about another trip in the spring.

Beautiful Hotel, Terrible Service. This hotel has the potential to be great. It has great views, decent food and a nice pool area. If it weren’t for the service issues, I would have given it five stars. Most of the hotel staff is very nice, unfortunately, their service was just bad. While we were at the pool the first day, the hotel delivered a cheese plate to our room. It was probably in the room an hour or so before we returned. Shockingly, the cheese plate was covered in ants (see picture). The scary question is: were the ants on the plate when it was delivered (nobody could have missed them if they were), or even worse, were they already in our room and simply swarmed the cheese plate when it arrived? Either one is unacceptable. While the hotel apologized, they never even offered to replace it. Another time, the front desk arranged a car to take us to a wine tasting, but forgot to put the information into the computer or tell anyone else at the hotel about it. So, we wasted a lot of time the next day trying to find the car. Service at the restaurant was just as bad. Each meal, we waited a very long time before anyone even made their first approach to our table, and once we had to get up and beg someone, anyone, just to come over. And this was with the hotel and restaurant being only partly full. The front desk manager, Chris, appears to be trying his hardest, and he is very good at apologizing, but some free cookies and a free breakfast (that was already included in our package, so I guess it was double free) didn’t make up for the service issues. This hotel is not cheap and if they don’t fix the bad service, I can’t recommend that anyone stay here.

I drove in for my spa appointment and was in my car for about 4 minutes with nobody anywhere to tell me where to go.A gentleman came out from the building and drove away with one of those golf carts, didnt even acknowledge me and he went on his way.Finally a gentleman brought up another car and only then he approached and asked if he could help.You can tell the place is done with top architectural work. But all that doesnt mean anything if you dont have a fine-tuned operation.I went out to the pool because I got there early while I was waiting for my massage to start. I realized that maybe I got there too early because employees started to set up.Spa experience:They changed my schedule because one of the employees was not available. I was okay with that as things happens. They took care of us and Im gratefulI; however, I was willing to pay anyway.I have been in so many spas but this is the noisiest spa Ive ever been. I was more stressed because all the closing of the doors, the hinges the handles the air conditioning unit noises, or some kind of ceiling ventilation going off and on while resting in the tranquility room.The providers did an amazing job and I commend them for it. The oil product was top-notch and you can tell they spent some times and efforts putting that together.Had lunch at the restaurant, but I was told when I booked my spa reservation that the restaurant was closed and that we need to dine in the pool area and order our food through room service. This information was not true because the restaurant was opened.One piece of advice that when the guest trying to settle his food bill and the server takes a credit card to go settle the bill, the server should not go to another table and stand there for 10 minutes talking to another guest while he has the my credit card in his hand.I understand it is the pandemic, and I get that we are all short-staffed but at that cost, they should make the experience flawless.

This place is on another level. We drove up from Pacifica Friday afternoon February 5th. I think they had just reopened a day or two prior after the stay at home order was lifted the week before, yet it felt like they never missed a beat.We rolled up and they immediately unloaded the car into a golf cart and drove us back to our room. Room doesnt really do it justice though. We were in a Vineyard Suite, number 331, which is maybe a 3 minute walk from the main compound. All of the suites will have only one or two other rooms sharing a wall with them, so everything is extremely private. Right now due to covid capacity restrictions you likely wont have anyone next to you. The appointments inside the room are top notch, very tastefully done modern decor. Wood furnishings, hardwood floors, large walk-in shower, a pocket door to the toilet, and the centerpiece of most rooms - the Arcadia Custom glass wall system across the entire back wall of the house, and just beyond, the tiled balcony with gas fire pit activated with only a turn of the timer switch.We quickly changed clothes and headed to dinner at the resort restaurant, Hazel Hill. We started with beef tartare, knew we were getting the petrale sole for an entree, but werent sure what to get for a mid course (we eat light and share everything). We asked our server and he explained the French onion soup was the thing to get. Everything was phenomenal, especially the soup. We had two excellent bottles of wine and for the first time I can remember we were complimented on our mask etiquette by the sommelier, who was also gracious enough to have the decanter with the rest of the second bottle waiting for us back in our room, as we explained we wanted to have a dessert wine. Of course they have Royal Tokaji. The fromage plate was stellar as well.The next day once we made it out of the room, we did a short 2 mile hike right out the room over to Healdsburg Open Space Preserve, where youll get a little bit of exercise and some really nice views. We also went for a dip in the pool, which is Olympic length and heated to something like 85 degrees. For lunch that day we had their hamburger and fries. Again, just absolutely delicious.The entire project has taken about 15 years to come to fruition from what I was told. I believe it, as it looks as though everything was meticulously planned and no expense has been spared. Just to give you an idea, you can see in some of the photos the concrete pilons and steel construction for the foundation of all of the houses. If you were to walk around the back of the main compound to the parking lot (not that you would ever need to), youd find covered parking with solar arrays as the roof. If youre interested in taking a bicycle into town, they have really nice, new electric bikes available as well as high end Scott road bikes too.I hardly ever write reviews, much less of this length. This place is phenomenal.

The recently opened restaurant Hazel Hill at the Montage resort had high hopes of being a new culinary mecca. The setting is atop a hill overlooking a small ravine with vineyards and native trees and manicured landscapes with intermingled by luxury homes and rental in the vast property. The good: Wine selection is wide and interestingly against Sonoma unwritten policy of only Sonoma wines as French and Italian wines were also present. There is also a wide range of prices from single glass to full bottles into the thousands. The reception is well covered with many welcoming folk from mandatory valet, front desk and hostess. The table service was also very good with plenty of visits by a variety of staff to ensure we were looked after. The bad: Unfortunately for us the food didnt measure up to the level experience at resorts of this caliber. Our best dish was raw oysters that we started with and progressively went bland with our pea soup, and sour with our little gems salad to down right raw with the Chef special quail (roasted) with scallops (pan seared) . Upon showing our waiter Nick he nervously whisked it away and didnt make any comments after sho6his the 2 pieces that were so raw it was hard to cut thru. He later came back and said that is how the Chef prepares the dish. Ok...doubt that and when this happened at other restaurants the Chef came out to apologize but not here. No apologies or other adjustments offered just a blank stare of that is the way we do it. My spouses Alaskan halibut was well done but only because we asked for it to be be well done. With as much of the Healdsburg culinary scene expanding we would look elsewhere for better dining in the areas.

Would give a better rating if the price was not so exorbitant. If this was 1/3 the price, that would match the value of the stay. It was hard to get an idea of what the place is like - but its basically little one-story townhouses of 3 rooms or so, scattered on hills and accessible by electric golf carts to drive down to the main lobby.I stayed in the Mountain Deluxe room - all deluxe rooms have outdoor showers as the differentiator. And Mountain is supposed to be the most elite room type of the three (vineyard, forest, mountain).Cons:- Charge a daily resort fee, but none of the amenities are available due to covid. Have no idea what this covers.- Site mentions yoga classes in the vineyards - when I called about the class calendar they gave me a time for the next class. Unfortunately, it was considered a personal training session and cost $288 for two people. I thought it was complimentary (resort fee). Also adjacent to the family pool, so loud pop music was playing and kids yelling during the yoga class.- NOISE --- was wayyy above the family pool, but could hear everything as if I was attending a kids summer camp. All day everyday, constant yelling from children. This may be better for a family vacation than it would be for a romantic couples getaway, or business, or vacation without family. A primary reason I selected this resort was because of the perceived seclusion in nature. Very very loud, the acoustics travel and are crystal clear (I could tell you the names of all the children based on how often I heard them).- New building issues - there was over a two inch gap between the outdoor partition and my neighbors. The manager said hes never heard of that happening. The maintenance repairman said its common and this was the largest one hes seen. Was able to see into the bedroom of my neighbor, which is not aligned with luxury travel. Other things like- light casings were falling off LED lights in the bathroom, housekeeping didnt refill things like coffee + soap bars etc.Overall I was very disappointed. Even the Ritz has waives their resort fees. This is well overpriced for the amenities and service that all the new kinks come with a new hotel.

Employees are poorly trained. For such a prestigous property, I expected better service. I stayed at the hotel as part of a large group event.When I arrived, I asked the valet where the group event registration was. I got the deer-in-a-headlight stare from the clueless valet. After a little running around, I discovered the event registration table was right next to the valet office. Im not sure how the valet didnt know it was there and Im not sure why all the employees werent aware of a large group event at the property.I also HATE to valet park my car. I want to park my car myself and I want access to my car when I need it. Turns out, this hotel ONLY has valet parking. You can not self park. ALSO, you are forced to take a golf cart to your room so you can only come and go when a golf cart is available. Not very convenient.To further the valet story, the valet tried to charge me for parking. I told him that I was part of the group and we pre-paid for our entire event which included parking. He brought a manager over who agreed that our group pre-paid for parking and that parking was included in our event. After getting home, I discovered that the hotel charged $70 to my credit card for parking. I disputed the charge, and the hotel insisted that I have to pay for parking. ALL of the employees are very confused. They dont communicate and clearly their management isnt training them very well.At our group breakfast, they had employees watching over the breakfast buffet making sure we didnt take too much food. . . but they we not available to refill the empty bins. Again, very strange employee training and not enough food for the group.Other silly things like body wash at the bathroom sink and facial soap in the shower were just more signs of poorly trained employees.When I checked out, I had to wait FOREVER to get my car (because everyone checks out at the same time and the valets were overloaded and there was not enough room for all the cars to pull up to the front of the hotel.)Overall, this hotel is beautiful, but it is run like a two-star hotel while charging five-star prices. I would NOT RECOMMEND. There are PLENTY of very nice hotels in the wine country that do a much better job.

The customer service was great from arriving to leaving. Ray, who was working at the entrance greeted us and made us all feel so welcomed. We had a suite and wow, the outdoor shower and bath tub were dreamy.We ate at the hotel, and we basically tried everything on the in room dining menu for breakfast and lunch. Very good food!! We didn’t want to leave the hotel to try any of the restaurants outside of the hotel because we liked it so much. My parents loved the ricotta pancakes and egg white frittata. I liked the French omlet and hazil hill Benedict. For dinner, the turkey sandwich, burger, vegan pasta, and French fries are all excellent!! They also have a special ketchup that’s a bit spicy. We would sometimes eat by the fire place balcony and although it was all in room dining, we were thankful to be there when it was quiet so we could eat outdoors enjoying the beautiful view together as a family. Raphael who also worked there provided such great customer service. He was so kind and friendly.I love the montage, we’ve already been to the ones in Laguna Beach and Park City. This may have been the worst experience at a resort I’ve ever had. We booked our room nearly six months in advance to come into town for a wedding. Upon arrival, we waited for more than two hours to check in (despite the already criminally late 4pm check in time). We were first told the room was being cleaned, then told it was being “inspected” to ensure it was up to standards. Needless to say, it was not. When we finally made it to the room - a “deluxe vineyard suite” we found a crib that we had not requested. The lamps flickered and the tv remote didn’t work. Most egregiously, we also discovered that the room overlooked what can only be described as a construction site. Box trucks, vans, and tractors were setting up for an event. When we called to request the crib be removed and enquire as to whether the construction would last the whole weekend, the front desk were completely confused and offered no apology or resolution, and provided conflicting information before telling us they would call back once they found out. They never called back. The construction never stopped. For an entire weekend.The food was average at best. The spa was mediocre. The service was laughably poor. If you’re fortunate enough to get a room that doesn’t overlook a pile of dirt and an active construction site, the setting is beautiful. But that’s where the merits of this hotel begin and end. We were happy to check out and be done with the ordeal but have since discovered erroneous valet and spa charges. We’ve emailed four times now and to have those charges removed and, unsurprisingly, have not heard back. AVOID.

Three of us had lunch in the Olive Terrace at Hazel Hill and all said the same thing. The menu was very limited. We ordered the charcuterie board which was pretty pathetic in quantity and variety. Two people had the signature hamburger with fries. One friend said Five Guys is much better and that the dressing of the double-thin-patty hamburger was what made it passable.
