I honestly thought my business would be near impossible to sell, but Mike at MKL made it happen! He brought and negotiated with several buyers until we found just the right person to take over my Agency. As the deal was about to close, there were a few small issues, but Mike handled everything very professionally. I highly recommend Mike Maiman at MKL if its time for you to sell your Insurance Agency!

We contracted Mike Maiman, MKL Agency Broker to help us sell our non-standard insurance agency. Our agency was not the typical insurance agency, since we also processed tag & title work and yet he was able to set up multiple interviews with potential buyers thanks to his extensive network of contacts. Mike is very knowledgeable, helpful and resourceful, and guided us through the negotiation process with the buyer to make sure we received the maximum value for our business. Mike was great to deal with! At first I thought I could manage the sales of our Commercial book but then quickly realized that I needed help. Talked to Mike as I had known him before and he got busy for us. Arranged a phone interview but I did not get good vibes from the buyer, so I told Mike and he was so understanding and empathic. Did not force me to continue the conversations at all. He got busy and found me a great buyer! He is involved in the whole process and was very professional. I highly and firmly recommend him for the sale or buy of any book of business!

I first spoke to Mike on Dec. 10, 2018 about selling my agency. He was very helpful with explaining the valuation and the process. He explain what his companys would do if I sign up with them. At no time did he high pressure me. Although I was very impressed, I still spoke to another 4 other organizations. A week later I contacted Mike and accepted his representation. I am extremely surprise how professional Mike has been throughout the entire process. After 7 interviews of potential interested buyers 2 offers was received. The first fell through while the second was what I considered tailored made for my agency. As it turned out I could not have asked for a better transition of my company to the new owner. This would never have occured without Mikes expertise and assistance. I am proud to recommend Mike and his company to any agency that is looking for a broker to assist them in their venture.

If you are going to buy or sell and agency there is only one person to go with and thats Mike Maimen all the way! Where do I begin? Mike Maiman has been a Godsend! First, he found me buyers that I could have never found myself through his advertising program. Second, he protected my confidentiality by making sure all buyers had signed NDAs so I could feel comfortable about sharing information about my business. Third, he guided me by the hand through the negotiation process with the buyer to make sure I received the maximum value for my business. I started my own insurance brokerage and spent nearly twenty years of my life growing the business. I worked hard to service my customers and provide a professional and quality service. I reached a point in my life where I was ready to retire and decided it was time to sell my business.I searched and interviewed several brokers and selected Mike with MKL Agency. I spoke to other business brokers that were trying to valuate my unique agency using EBITDA multiples which I knew was not correct. I finally called Mike Maimen who specializes in insurance businesses. He analyzed my business and valued a it more than twice the other brokers. We had a full price offer in 24 hours and closed nearly 60 days later. He was solid and professional throughout the entire deal and really knows how to manage a long term sale process. If I had another insurance business to sell I would not go anywhere else. Even my buyers were so impressed they plan to do future acquisitions through MKL Business Brokers. Mike is simply amazing!

All of the reviews posted here are sellers. Let me tell you my experience as a buyer. I came across Mike Maimans ad about an agency for sale recently. I contacted him immediately and he told me that he had just put up this ad last night. I told him that I was very interested and would move very very quickly. He asked me to send him a signed NDA and that was the last time Mike actually spoke to me with any level of courtesy or professionalism. I signed the NDA within the next hour and sent it to Mike. Then I did not hear from him for two days. So in the afternoon of 2nd day I called him again. I introduced myself and said hello mike how are you and he didnt even say hello back and said he is on a conference call and would call me back. If he had the time to answer the call then the conference call wasnt as important and he could have atleast said hello and asked me about the purpose of the call. But this was all to delay my offer as you will see below. Well l never got a call back from him. I waited another day and called him again the next day twice and left a voicemail as well but no word from him. Then after the weekend I tried again on Monday and he answered the second time and asked if I had sent the NDA and then said I will send you the analysis shortly. Well again no response for a day. I called him again the second day and he said he is on a conference call and would call me back. No call back again. So I called him again the third time and he said he doesnt have my NDA. So I told him exactly the day and time I sent it and as expected he found it in his mailbox magically. I told him again that I am very interested and I am a serious buyer and will move very very quickly. So he finally sent me his analysis. The numbers in his analysis did not match-up with the commission claims he had made in his ad and his email. So I responded to his email and asked for some clarification. Again a whole day passes and no response from. Then I called him again this morning and he tells me that he got an offer from a party and the seller has accepted it. At that point I got really pissed and told him that he purposely ignored my queries and I promised him that I would write this review and expose his business practices. Based on his behavior, he clearly was impartial and was giving preference to another party and giving them all the information needed to move forward and put an offer while delaying me as much as possible. No smart businessman would put an offer without actually running through and verifying the numbers with the broker/seller and the broker has to facilitate all of that. He must have been completely available for the other party to have done all of that and I wouldnt be surprised if he had a prior relationship with this party and helped them come-up with an offer as well. This is clearly not working in the best interest of your client, the seller, while you charge him for your services. The more competition there is, the better off the seller would be but he blocked my offer by delaying me. This is unethical and unprofessional business practice. I would not work with Mike if I was a seller and certainly would not work with him as a buyer.
