In summary, Mission Ranch Market is a standout destination for those seeking authentic and diverse culinary experiences in Mission Viejo.The only negative is registers, bread and bakery area normally has long lines.I wish they would open a branch in San Diego. Great store, much better than its counter part Wholesome Choice in Irvine, and in my opinion worth the extra drive. They have a great selection of product and international products. They have very good made Sangak bread. Very good pastries and very good Persian food with their built in restaurant. People complaining about the busy parking lot and such are just complainers and every grocery store is about the same. It has a cozy feeling to sit inside and eat and get yourself a tea as well after your great meal. Staff is friendly and willing to explain the multiple options of food. Always come here instead of Wholesome Choice which has seriously gone downhill as far as cleanliness and freshness.

I have driven past this shopping center thousands of times but never thought to stop in. Their selection of unique food items is like nothing else Ive ever seen. They have very fresh produce, including hard to find items. Their on-site deli has a vast selection of Boars Head meats. Theres a full bakery that was churning out an incredible flat bread whose name escapes me at the moment. They also have a bunch of pastry options. The parking lot was a bit crazy, but I found a spot almost immediately. Try not to leave your cart in the lot since thats a naughty thing to do. Return your cart.

This store is our go-to for persian tea, produce and other products. The service is good, and ambiance appears to be peaceful and positive. My wife frequents the store as they carry items that other markets may not. Their rice, tea, pastries, etc. are all products on her list. Parking is sometimes an issue as the center has other stores and a 24-hour fitness.Recommended

This place is the best persian/international market i have been to. It has every fruit and vegetable, meat, deli, and appliances. You can pick them out piece by piece or per pound. The restaurant is fantastic and a full cart of groceries shouldnt cost you over 100 dollars best bargain shop ever. We have been shopping here for 3 years in Irvine because of how well priced and how much quality it has. The eggs arent good tho so try getting those from a ralphs or something. Overall the best irani shopping experience.

Small international store with some products that you cannot find in a regular store such as Ukrainian cookies and candy, Latvian cottage cheese. I drive to this store especially for fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, they have a bakery with indeed delicious Persian desserts. It’s not cheap but worth it.

Fresh fruits 🍎 and vegetables 🌶. You can find the Middle East choices. In addition, they offer middle eastern and international groceries. The bakery 🧁 is delicious with all Persian and Arabic desserts. The place has it all. Prices are very reasonable, as well. Try the restaurant when you are there. They have Halal “Kusher” and non-halal food 🥘. I tried the beef 🥩 sultani and it’s really authentic and delicious. This is a revisit to the store. I assure you that it’s even better than my last visit.

The skinny big nose young lady cashier, was so pissed off because I ask her not to fold my Lavash Bread!! And she answered me to not come to her casher next time!!! Super rude!! The other lady who persisted she was the boss, didn’t apologize for rude cashier. I’m not gonna buy anything from them again. The manager should educate his her people. I know that the cashier lady is coming fresh from Iran, but here is USA and the costumers are king!!

Great selection of Persian cooking staples. Great meat selection and produce at good prices. We went for grape leafs.Dont recommend going during busy times. The last few times we went during busy time is crazy. The parking lot is small and hard to find parking which causes many people to get irate. Over the holidays we witnessed several people yelling at each other because of parking. We now call it the angry Persian market. :-) Great store though!

It’s a Persian supermarket and they sell different grocery items such as meat, nuts, Mediterranean spices and Persian food. They have a pastry inside the store too which sells Persian breads and pastries. Their Persian foods are delicious. I recommend their kabobs (beef koobideh) and stews. It’s better to call and place order ahead of time to avoid delay in getting the food. They are usually busy and there is a line for the food.

I am writing this review to inform the owner that although Sangakak bread is very healthy but unfortunately the bakers in mission ranch market burn the bread most of the time and it’s not healthy to consume burnt food with carbon .It’s hazardous for the body and can create cancer.I informed the lady working there that I don’t want burnt bread and she responded whatever comes out I have to give you ! She should consider customer request and desires .Some people might like to consume carbon but as a doctor, I find it very unhealthy and dangerous for the body .Unfortunately I had to throw away burnt parts of the fresh bread I bought today .It would be thoughtful to ask the bakers bring down the flame to slow -medium for people who don’t want burnt bread .This way it won’t be raw and it won’t be burnt .It’s not professional to ignore customer’s request and to tell them that they should get whatever comes out specially when there are health concerns .I really like mission ranch ‘s sangakak bread .I hope they will consider my review and improve their customer satisfaction.

Been coming here for over 10 years. The freshest fruit and meat in town. And fresh nuts. The turnover for products is high here so it is always fresh. And you can get fresh bread. Best middle eastern grocery store in town. I can 100% say it is fresher than wholesome choice in Irvine. The workers have worked here for a long time, so they know what they are doing here.

There’s a butcher who’s also a manger he’s terribly rude. The people who work here are terrible other than the butchers.Very confined small disorganized space. It was the most discussing experience I ever had, I women grabbing grapes putting them in in their mouth, the fingers had grape juice and saliva from the mouth and touching other grapes and items continued shopping and touching other items. Best place to go to get a ton of herbs. Don’t give me those three springs inside a plastic container that sells for $3-5. If you need a handful of dill or tarragon or oregano or thyme or even sage, if you don’t come here you’re wasting your money. I also get my roses here. I’ve gotten them before at another market where all the rosebuds were crushed. Here you can see their entire shape through the plastic container. They also have borage. Also in plastic containers are amazingggg pastries and baklava and they have a section for Turkish delights. Love checking out the nuts and dried fruits/veggies section too. They have queso blanco to Middle eastern / Mediterranean cheeses to sargento (lol). All the syrups you need, rose water, olives, pickles, evoo, meat, saffron (in glass container near security), and there’s even a restaurant attached to the market that has legit food.

I live less than a mile from Wholesome Choice but I would drive 12 miles to Mission Ranch thinking it was a better store, past two times while I was waiting at the bread line they asked me how many Sangak breads I wanted, both times right when it was my turn and after 20 to 30 minutes wait the guys told me that they do not have Sangak bread anymore.Very poor customer service, I wish the previous guy comes back.

I caution anyone who buy dried fruits like dates from Mission Ranch Market. We bought a 4 lb box of dates and they were infested with nasty black bugs and white worms. You cannot tell from the outside but thankfully my son opened his and we noticed them. 75% of the dates had worms. Of course, we called and received the worst customer service. The lady basically blamed us and yelled at my wife for not freezing the dates lol freezing dates infested with worms doesn’t help. I know Mission Ranch Market is super busy and they could care less about losing a single customer, but it would have been easy for her to say we don’t accept any returns, even rotten dry foods after a few days then to be rude and nasty.It is the large red box of dates

Holy macaroni! This market is awesome! I was shocked to see how large it is, because on the outside it looks to be a small space. The range of produce blows the closer supermarkets away by a landslide. I purchased many things I have never eaten before, simply out of the desire of wanting to try a culture I am apart of yet rarely exposed to. The only thing that made me feel a touch uncomfortable was how some of the men were looking at me, but I think I needed to wear pants not shorts out of respect for their practices. Other than that, I highly recommend this market to others.

The produce section is well-stocked and priced well. The nut bar is one of my favorite attractions, Ive rarely seen so many nuts available. The meat counter is busy and the staff is helpful.The attached bakery, deli and prepared foods area is a busy and crowded place which may not have seating during lunch or weekend times.Parking is at a premium here. Be prepared to make laps and wait until a space opens, especially on weekends and around holidays. Theres a fitness center in the same parking lot, along with other businesses, so be prepared for traffic jams.

The store lacks trust in its customers and shows no remorse for any issues.After discovering that the Moda sesame bagels I purchased were moldy the day after, I had to produce the receipt as they wouldnt accept credit card transaction history. I tossed it in trash afterwards. The other day a family friend said she found hair in their local made Must-Mooseer! Their food is always old and stinks... smells horrible. Please try places like shemroon, bahar, Hatam, jordan market, Super Irvine market, crown valley market, Kabob places, tavazo on line and... many more right around the same area. Plenty and good selection of fresh produce, shelves are stocked well, meat counter is always attended to and the store keeps a good number of people working to keep stock of items. Ive visited this store often enough and I have to say the after work hours is very busy, too busy that I had to quickly get the few things I need and get out fast. Definitely worth visiting esp the ready made food section, and... the bakery section is a must visit.Parking gets crazy sometimes and a bit narrow parking spaces.Four to 4.5 stars because of parking and grocery isles are narrow - its okay but hard to shop when its crowded.

People that work at the Dely department work really hard to scare clients away. I was the only customer and two ladies ignored me for 5 minutes. They didn´t even greet me. They continued talking to each other and wiping the counter as I were invisible. After 5 minutes I was finally asked if I needed help. The way they talked to me was also as if my presence were bothering them. Be aware: Their containers are really bad and insecure. The lids don´t stay on very well. They put both of my large containers in the same plastic bag and the mast-o-khiar spilled all over. Very unpleasant experience. The salads taste good though. The bakery was a little better. Again they really take their time to come to attend. Cant say much about the quality as we havent tried the cakes yet. Not welcoming. The rest is OK. Their assortment is very similar to other Persian stores in this area but some good items that I usually get at other stores were missing here.

I’ve been shopping at Mission Ranch Market for over a year after moving to the area. You cannot beat the quality and price on the fresh produce and meat. I got burnt bread once and I called them letting them know and a worker named Homayoon assured me next time I go back they won’t be burnt. I wish the Managment would consider expanding or rearranging aisles so guest can easily maneuver between people and aisles. It’s a shame that such a good supermarket should be mismanaged this bad. If I had an option to go to another supermarket I would, but unfortunately we do not have that option in OC. Between the market, gym and other businesses in the plaza the parking is also an issue. This Middle Eastern grocery store has been expanding for some 20 years. It has been tearing walls to add adjacent stores that now include bakery, restaurant, dry foods, and pretty much anything else you might want to buy during your visit. Its amazing to see the owners ambition to expand so quickly.Before the pandemic, it used to be hard to predict how the prices will be on any of my visits. The prices went up and down for no appearant reasons. I suppose I enjoyed the feeling of perhaps doing some bargaining as in the grand Bazar in the Middle East. But, it was silly, because we now live in the US where prices should be more stable.After the 8% inflation of 2023, I am basically noticing a price increase on almost all items accross the board with approximately 50 to 100 percent jump. I am certain things could not have gone up that much and there is definitely something unethical going on.The best way to fight the price fixings, I have figured, is to shop at different grocery stores. If I see a price increase that seems artificial, I simply do not buy it.

So its GREAT and AWFUL in equal measure. Fantastic quality and prices on fruit and vegetables. They also have cookies and chocolate imported from England which is a lovely treat. Prices and variety on other foods and groceries are not good. The hot fresh food section offers reasonably good quality middle Eastern food, but the prices are too high to visit often. The biggest issue with this supermarket is the checkout, the lines are very long and the service is painfully slow, I cannot emphasize how slow it is enough. Its a huge issue and problem. It needs dealing with, it puts me off going, and I know many other people who refuse to go back because of this problem. Speed up your checkout process and train your staff. Its beyond obnoxious.

Its a local favorite international super market with delicious Persian / Middle Eastern food selections and food court that handles a lot of delicious take outs. There are limited sitting in the market food court area. The markets produce (fruit, vegetable, cheese, meat, herbs) have one of the cheapest price in town with good selections and great quality due to the turn over rate. It has an authentic bakery in store, offers delicious sangak, cookies and treats. The small restaurant gets busy during the weekend and right after work, so expect long wait, especially at the bakery for the fresh bread. I normally order my To Go food ahead, and then go shopping for grocery. Remember, this is not Whole Foods or Mothers Market, so it could be disorganized and a bit dirty at times, but you are paying 1/2 the price for some of the products. Its a regular stop for me for my grocery. I highly recommend!!!

This place gets very packed with very few people in the store. I attribute this to the layout and unoptimized space. The meat and chicken is of good quality as is the produce, although usually more expensive than the other halal market I shop at. The bakery is the real saving grace for this market. The fresh baked sangak bread is very good, especially when its still hot.

So many good things to say about this place. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and the prices are great. They have an extensive deli section and French pastries made on premises.You can also get delicious Persian food! Eat here or take to go. This small but comprehensive grocery store is one of my favorite place to do weekly shopping. It has bakery, fresh bread food and deli. You can find meat, fruit and nuts here. A very convenient place for shopping. The staff and cashiers are friendly and very helpful if you are looking for an item.

Absolutely love this place for cultural diversity and the awesome diversity of food from around the world. Usually crowded with middle-eastern clients, mostly Persian, and many signs are in Farsi. Its easy to get turned off if you dont know the culture, and I dont. But I love being exposed to different cultures. The people here are usually friendly and this is a good place to get authentic and excellent quality food, and to ask occasional questions. Pricing like on fresh veggies is hit or miss. Dont go looking for deals but you might occasionally find some compared to other stores. Check out the Irani Bakery, awesome fresh food there. They have their own location for reviews.

Produce is fresh, beautiful, and amazingly priced. Meat selection is diverse. Bakery is tempting with so many options of sweets and baked goods. A wonderful place to go and expand your taste buds and find your favorites.The parking lot will be busy and be patient in the lines for the meats; take a number! Worth it!

This place is great for finding unique middle eastern products that you cant find at your normal big box stores. Other items like produce, pita and hummus are really cheap here . Unfortunately it is always crowded and if you want any meat from the butcher, its going to take you awhile. Overall i love the products here but I make sure i plan my visits early to avoid the crowds.

Most of their items are good quality but when it comes to pastry it is not very good. The prices are good compare to similar stores.For food I recommend their rice and Kabab but other food are just average.The owners are usually at the store will help customers when they have been asked to help along with the employee.The Cashiers are very friendly.They dont force you to leave the stores when it is time to close, they wont even announce it, they polity wait for you to finish your shopping.It is convenience to shop there.

Update: This is insane!!! We bought a new pack of bulgur from them this week to just give them another chance. We found brown ants in them. Look at the pictures and expiration date. This is a serious problem that need investigation.Terrible management!I have been a regular customer of this store and I have been very happy with their products until recently. We found insects in three of their products (see the picture attached) we bought from their store a couple of weeks ago. Since the product brands were different this could be due to the store storing conditions and I took the packages to the store and showed them the insect picture and tried to explain to them this could be due to storing conditions. All three packages had an expiration date of 2023. A guy who claim to be a manager, came and checked the expiration date and told me I did not buy them a few weeks ago but a year ago. I told him that was not true and these were bought at most a month ago. Then he started asking how he would know if I bought from their store knowing I did not have the receipt. He said insects are not his store problem but the product brand problem and I should contact the producer company directly. These are international products! He then said, they would refund for only the package which has a further expiration date than the other two. I told him that I would not lie for $6-7 and I was not there for a refund. He then said okay okay we give you a refund everyone is happy in a way he was donating to me.It is unfortunate for such a local store to have such a bad and unprofessional manager. When you have a similar problem at Costco, Walmart, or other US-based stores you are never told it is not a store problem but a producer problem. To the manager I had to deal with today, there is a lot you have to learn from your US counterparts. Lastly, you may lie easily for $6-7 but I wont. I spend $100-200 just weekly at your store. All I was expecting was an apology and a few words of saying you would take action to prevent this happen in the future (although I know you would not do anything). You have lost a regular customer.

The store is good. But, the food needs to be well cooked. This is second time that I picked up the food and was not cooked enough. The rice and stews needs better cooking. I dont know if they changed the cook, but needs better training to cook persian food.

Good place for produce and food. The small restaurant inside and the fresh baked bread are 🔥. The fruit and veggies are great quality and they have best prices. The meat(not the deli) pales in comparison to the produce, stick to stater and s&f for meat. The nut and dried fruit section is amazing, they have a great selection as well as good prices. All in all I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because they honestly are one of the best markets out there.

We started to visit this market soon after we moved to OC almost 4 years ago as it happens to be very close to where we lived and by friends’ recommendation. Price was very good for regular grocery shopping. Through the Pandemic, we observed the pricing going up and up pretty much reflect the inflations. Still a lot of people over the weekends. I will visit there for regular grocery shopping but just be mindful and check the price tag before pick up what is needed.

The food is always great! If you havent tried Persian food this is a great place to go. The servings are substantial. The grocery store and bakery are amazing. Vegies and fruits are so fresh.You can find many things that arent sold at grocery stores. I found Asian spices etc. along with middle eastern.Just an awesome place. Make sure to stop at the bakery and check out the fresh baked pastries. Theyre very special.

Just dont go there.These people are rude and dont care. We had a special event in our family. Lots of friends and family were coming and my daughter wanted Persian foodI called and ordered the food at 5 pm for 6.30 pick up. When my son went to pick up the food they had not even started on the food. They had the receipt sitting there in plain view but no food. The wait was over one and a half hour. Over 10 calls and no one would even talk. They would put me on hold and disappear even though I asked for a manager each time. Finally I called my son and told him to demand to speak to a manager. When Sean came on the phone all he could tell me was they were really busy ... and wanted to know what I expected him to do.. as in I dont have time.. what do you want. I told him he was s moron.. straight up.. never did that before but it was necessary. I asked him what sense it made to order the food and not have it ready when promised. They ruined a completely perfect gathering for my daughters birthday. I cant believe I have to give them one star. Never again..

Be careful when you buy meat. I bought 22% ground beef today which was $4.49 per pound. She gave me the correct one, 22% but charges as for 5% ground beef which is $6.49. Unfortunately I just noticed it when I came home. It is already my second time having this issue in their meat department. Last time they fix right away because it was at register.

Yesterday, Ive experienced a very dissatisfactory occasion which makes me think that Ill never shop from here again. The terrible attitude and approach is, I think worse than what happened. Heres what Ive experienced: Ill have guests tomorrow and promised to cook everything myself so I went to the ranch market for shopping yesterday. Ive bought 6 lbs 15% ground beef and 10 pcs chicken drumsticks. I came home and began cooking a wide variety of dishes Ive planned. During cooking Ive realized a smell coming out of the ground beef, like some gidgets (ckicken liver or so) has been mixed. Ive cooked all and when I tasted, omg, all smell terrible!!! Which means Ive to throw them away, re shop and cook all, with a time pressure and stress on me and twice as Ive budgeted. Another issue is a lot of blood coming out of drumsticks. But worser than all above was the attitude of the lady on the phone, when I decided to call them and explain my complaint. Ive told her exactly the same story above and can you guess her response? All our meat is fresh! I really felt shocked with this answer as it is totally irrelevant, I told nothing about the freshness, I know that the meat is fresh. Then she told me, they can not accept returns as all the meat is cooked but shell talk to her manager about the issue, which is ok. Ive asked her to give my phone number ( thinking that the manager calls to give a feedback after investigating) and the lady on the phone asked me WHY DO I GET YOUR PHONE NUMBER? and I told your manager might want to give me a call after you talk and she told me No need, I dont think so Such a terrible attitude an employee can answer a customer! Nothing to say, I closed the phone, a waste of time talking to these guys!Ill never be shopping from this store again and just wanted to share my experience to show the mentality behind the scenes because theyre selling a lot and do not care about behaviour and respect, trying to do their best about customer satisfaction. A Nice and reasonable Asian-Mediterranean marketplace including Hot food restaurant inside. Theyre open 7 days and have Fresh Fruits, Vegetables and Meats served fresh. They also feature an expanded Bakery mostly with Middle Eastern variety. The Dry Fruits section is awesome including the Frozen departments. They even have a large selection of Indian Spices and Food items. Its in the same complex with 24 hour fitness.

Great fresh vegetable and meat/poultry/fish selections.This place has great grocery selections of vegetables and meat/poultry/fish. They also have lamb and clear/cut all of it, gratis! The mornings are generally busy and it’s a bit of a challenge to get one of the butchers to help. That is one reason for awarding it four stars; some of the butchers can be a bit moody at times. However, since there are multiple butchers working at the same time, it is easy to talk to one who is nice. They also have high quality ground chicken, beef and lamb. They have liver, heart, shrimp and fresh fish. The quality and prices are both five stars. I shop at this place once a month (I buy enough to last me) and find that the prices are much lower than either Albertsons or Ralph’s.

I much prefer to shop at Ranch Market than chain markets. Everyone is very friendly, their produce is great and the value is outstanding. Interestingly, if you have a yen for junk food, go somewhere else. They cook on premises if you are hungry in one section which also has great bakery and deli. Food is Persian and excellent. Butcher sells very fresh meat etc. Unlike Americans who visit a market weekly, many Persians shop every couple of days so expect everything fresh and pretty healthy. I am lucky to be so close and am always surprised at checkout at the cost and the value when have a cart full of fresh food GREAT!!!

Unbelievable prices in produce, easily 40% less than regular grocery stores. Meats are fresh & delicious, every condiment you can imagine. The in-store deli will make you a scrumptious lunch. I spend a lot of money here! Today was my first encounter with customer service due to a surprise defective product I consume a lot.It was horrendous experience. They would not return the product even though it was well within the 72 hours. They made me wait and did the talking to the supervisor Schtick, made faces, argued and pressured, but finally relented begrudgingly for a simple exchange.They ruined my very busy evening.

Best food market in south OC. Great prices and quality on everything from fresh produce and groceries to assorted nuts and dried fruit. While its true that the majority of staff and customers are Persian, EVERYONE is friendly and welcoming.
