I am writing to provide feedback on my recent visit to your service center for car maintenance. While I appreciate the attention to my vehicles needs, I was disappointed by the level of customer service I received during my interaction with the staff member assigned to assist me. Jorge G.Upon my arrival, the initial interaction lacked the warmth and friendliness that I have come to expect based on my experiences at other service centers, such as BMW in Valencia or Mini Valencia. Instead of a welcoming greeting, I was met with a terse name?! and a request for my address and phone number without any further acknowledgment. No hi, no hello…The contrast between this experience and the exceptional service I have received elsewhere was notable. I recall how the host at the aforementioned service centers greeted me warmly and assisted me with a high level of courtesy and friendliness when I first arrived and left.As a customer, I believe that a positive and welcoming customer service experience is crucial in fostering a sense of trust and satisfaction. Mario and team were life savers during our road trip! They diagnosed and fixed my Mini in record time and had us back on the road and our vacation within a couple of days! Mario and team were professional, kind and even found a hotel for us during this unplanned CA side trip! They provided a loaner, fixed the car, and had us back on the road. Their kindness and care for us as well as for the car is a rare quality to find and totally appreciated. Mario even called a few days later to check in and see how the trip was gong! I am so grateful for their total care! I highly recommend this Mini dealership and wish they were located where I live!

I have only good things to say about my experience with service at this Mini dealership. Appointments are readily available, & though they do have loaner vehicles, I usually wait for my car to be ready. Jose Prudencio is always my service advisor, and I can literally set my watch by his estimate of my completion time.I know when they start looking over my car because they text me a link to a technician-narrated video of any areas of concern, explaining what the reasons are for any repair recommendations. They offer a couple of comfortable places to wait, and access to chilled bottles of water and a coffee machine that makes a good cappuccino.My car comes back to me cleaned and fixed/maintained, and I am back on my way usually within a couple of hours. A very comfortable experience every time!

Marc and Sergio and the whole team are extremely kind, helpful, and thoughtful. They are the exact opposite of the stereotypical car salespeople, in the best way possible. I had to wait for insurance to kick in and they held a car I wanted for me for weeks with no hesitation and no payment made. They are the best, it could not have been a better experience, and I highly recommend them all!

Not a big fan of this dealership after dealing with the people in service. They are robots who follow a script and don’t honestly seem to like customers at least the people i have dealt with so far. Very systematic and charge a fortune for things. They were going to charge for a tire $370 where i can buy a set of 4 for $750 installed. I realize they are a dealership, but no personality to deal with clients in my opinion. I am in a high end business and speak from experience that why i feel this way.

From Albert S.I brought my daughters car in yesterday, it hasnt been serviced in three years. Jorge Gutierrez, took me through what needs to be done and what can wait. They sent me a video of the work that needed to be done and gave me a timeline for all the other work. Best of all, Jorge gave me a fair price. They fixed it in a timely manner and the car is running great. Ask for Jorge, when you get your car serviced there.

My 2020 Countryman has brake issues. I was referred to this dealer for the fourth year Oil changes and safety check. I am very familiar with this car model, since this is my third mini. After the oil change, brake replacement, and safety service, the car is driving so well. I feel my old mini feeling is back. It has trouble me the last three years. I am glad it is a good sign. If this dealer is working well, I will not buy another mini again.Jose is nice and patience. He explained the detail of service to me. I am very pleased with his professionalism and service results. I inquired here years ago looking to purchase a manual transmission vehicle. When all the other dealerships laughed at my request. It was only here at Universal Mini where a sales representative emailed me weeks later to let me know a new car became available. Since then I have brought my car here for service. The team here is absolutely the best!! However I have to give a major shout out to Jorge in the service department. He is an absolute gem there. He has always kept it real managing expectations, finding solutions, and always makes time to answer questions and explain things. His and the over demeanor of the team is always so pleasant and accommodating they really take they stress out of maintenance and always make me feel like a valued customer. Very nice and helpful customer service. I liked the video inspection of my car. All good... EXCEPT... I found it very frustrating and felt taken advantage of when I noticed that I was charged for labor for not 1... not 2... but 3 times!!! Once for each thing / area they looked at or fixed. Most mechanics will charge you ONCE for labor!!!! So, Mini of Universal just milked me for an extra $200+!!! I get that the going rate for labor is $100-ish, but GIVE ME A BREAK!! Nice work changing my oil, but I may not come back.

Overall it was stressful but in the end things worked out pretty well. I am not from L.A. I hit a bad pot hole on my way home to Canada on a Saturday. I was grateful I was able to be towed to Universal City Mini. The staff was polite. However, the staff would not deviate from their script and appreciate my situation. I knew at minimum I would need a new tire, but the service representative advised he would not be able to even look for a tire until the service tech looked at my care, which would be up to an hour because they had other customers that had booked service. I do appreciate his situation, but Mini should have something in place for customers that have accidents. I do not live in LA or the USA. If he did not get the tire in time I would be stranded in LA in an area I did not know (as I was driving through) until Monday. I think Mini should have something in place to allow their service agents to provide some assurance to customers, like being able to look up a tire. I sat stressed and somewhat panicked (emotionally drained) for 2 hours.IN THE END I did get a tire, I had a cracked rim, but they set it up well and I made it back to Canada, where I could buy a mini rim, as they did not have one in stock at Mini UNIVERSAL CITY.

My Mini was smart enough to let me know something was wrong with my tire pressure sensor. The professionals at Mini of Universal City found and fixed the problem in one day, and without being asked found my front brake pads were very near to replacement. Well done!

First time here. I live mid-city LA and takes me 45 minutes to get there. There is no signage as to where to enter the premises for service. When I went into what I thought was the entrance, I asked where to park and was told to go around to the other side. When I tried to do that, there was a huge truck blocking the alley way. When I went back inside to ask them what to do now, they finally offered to assist me. If this wasnt the only place in my area, I would definitely not go back again. Did not feel welcomed at all. Service was good, and car was returned at the time promised.

I came in today to have the knee boards and steering column boards put back in. I had taken them out to change the ignition switch but couldnt put it back in. I tried for hours without success. I figured Id come in versus break something putting it back. Dude. The service guy at the desk got up and fixed it in under 2 minutes. I didnt get his name but he was really professional and kind. Let me start off with how much I dislike shopping for cars. From pushy salesmen to the never-ending upsells during financing, none of it is enjoyable. However, Mini of Universal City was none of that. I happened to work with Greg who was the warmest salesman I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Greg showed me the CPO vehicle I came into look at, took me on a test drive, and worked within my budget without any pressure or back-and-forth. Financing was also super simple and quick. I wish I could remember her name, but she was the best financing person I have ever worked with. No pressure to add-on any maintenance packages or the like. I would highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a Mini to visit Mini of Universal City.

I hear that they warm up after awhile during the day. Thought that was funny. It does not affect their service, just kind of weird.

Currently giving a one star rating while I work out a situation with my 2023 MINI Cooper S. I took the vehicle in for it’s first service and shared with the service manager I thought there was something wrong with the transmission.Several months earlier I had made a wrong turn into an uphill driveway, stopped and put the vehicle in park at a 45 degree angle while I decided where I needed to be going. In order to back out properly I needed to go forward to give myself some space, so I put the car in drive and as soon as I let the brake off my car rolled back very quickly and into the brick mailbox behind me damaging my bumper. I noted it and thought something was wrong. I understand a short roll back, but this rolled back 5-7 feet before I could hit the brake. When I tried to recreate the issue I couldn’t - the car would slightly roll back but stay mostly stationary so I had time to hit the gas and move forward every other time. I decided to take it in for service and ask.Jose, the service manager at MINI Universal, told me - oh they always roll back a few feet, that’s normal and it’s fine. I explained several times it felt like significantly more than a few feet, but as someone who doesn’t know a lot about cars I took his expert opinion and planned to get the bumper fixed myself.Three weeks later I was parked going upwards on a 45 degree angle with a passenger (someone who does know a lot about cars) and as I put the car in drive to go forward, my car slid back over an entire car length into a car parked about 10 feet behind me. I hit the brake as it slammed into the bumper of the jeep damaging my car again. I had been moving my foot to the gas to move it forward so I had to have additional reaction time to hit the brake when suddenly instead of going forward it was going backwards. Immediately after I was able to recreate the issue and have video of my car rolling back significantly while in drive. My passenger was also insistent that there is no way that should happen in an automatic car and if it does then MINI has a major quality issue. The vehicle behaves inconsistently and it appears that in this seemingly random issue the car doesn’t recognize that it is in drive and behaves as though it’s in neutral.I’ve added the video to this review. In the video I am putting my brake on and barely lifting it off in order to show that it is rolling back but not so much that I let it free fall for more than half a second so that I can avoid any further damage. I shared this with Jose and MINI Universal a week ago, clearly explaining what they are watching. Today I called after having heard nothing back and was told the shop foreman said “oh no that’s normal, you just have to hit the brake faster when it does that. Knowing that sometimes I have no issue with the car being in drive on a bill and not rolling back, It seems odd to me that he thinks it’s normal to not have your car perform consistently, let alone continue to rollback more and more when you lift your foot off the break in drive. An automatic should not do this. I’m female and I honestly believe I’m being gaslit in this situation. I’m super disappointed in MINI and in the dealership. The car barely has 5k miles on it and there is clearly something wrong and instead of supporting the customer I’m being discounted and made to feel crazy.*12/7 update: Shop Foreman was incredible unhelpful and condescending. Maintains that AUTOMATIC vehicle has manual box transmission that allows for rollback, but from my research all MINIs have hill start assist feature so even if that were true it should negate that issue. Additionally, inconsistency of functionality poses a major safety hazard. If multiple MINI service, sales and customer service employees all were concerned by this apparent issue it seems unrealistic to expect customer to know of this risk without being told. Have been told to go to original dealership from where it was purchased. Have contacted a lawyer and in contact with MINI corporate. Shocked at dealership foreman’s lack of concern for safety issue.

Neil was spectacular kept me informed at all times and was very attentive and fast moving. I was out there in very little time. The vehicle at one time was pending sale and he texted me and informed me so I wouldn’t make a 100 mile drive in vain. Little details like this make you want to keep you going back to giving them your business. Bought a great used vehicle and the experience was very pleasant, the only thing I would change would be having an extra office for signing paperwork we had to wait one to open but it was ok. Recently bought a used 2015 Mini Paceman, and brought it to Mini of Universal City for an overall check and tune up before driving from Los Angeles to Portland. They ran a multi point inspection and texted the report with an escost of repairs. My service representative Jorge Gutierrez was cordial, thorough and responsive to my questions.There are plenty of other options for mechanic outside of the dealership, but after the my experience, I fully entrust Mini of Universal City to future servicing of my car.

What I like about the service department at Mini Universal is that theres no upsell. They give you all the options and then are happy to chat through what is most important to address. They are very knowledgable and helpful and actually seem pretty reasonably priced for all their services. This being the case, I cant imagine not taking my Mini to the dealer.

This meant that I had to make the long drive back and forth to Universal City two days in a row (and pay for the gas to do it). Is there any way to ensure a same-day service for minor repairs???

Perfect experience!! I was shocked at how terrific everyone was! I was greeted, directed to my service advisor, Jorge, who was exemplary! My car was completed on time with emails from Jorge telling me what was happening and when. When I arrived with my husband to pick up my car, Jorge came to tell us the car would be coming down. It did, right away, freshly washed and ready to go!!A GREAT place for service. I am only sorry we didnt buy our Mini here- next time! My wife and I stopped in to window shop at of Universal City. Wow! What a showroom!I loved the set up, and the hospitality was stupendous. Many thanks to Marc Perry who gave us the grand tour of the showroom and the used car lot -- which happens to be on the roof the building!And what a selection! New and used. Some the of the pre-owned cars were loaners with only 2000 miles or so. And they were happily discounted.Marc is an obvious expert and knows the ins and outs of these cars. Hell even order one for you to your specifications. Be sure to ask Marc to take his jacket off -- that guy is Mr. America! (OK, Mr. Grey America; hes almost my age.)My wife, as is her wont, decided to remodel the bathroom instead of getting a new car. Designed on line by us, made in the UK and shipped to CA. George in service was great, there is also a gentleman who dresses really professional in sales, hes amazing, always acknowledges me when I am there. The service guy was also great even though I didnt catch his name. However, the lady at the front desk forgot I was there. I arrived at 3pm as I was instructed to pick up my car she had me take a seat and I waited an hour even though my car was ready the whole time. Was very upset about that as I took off work early to be there.

This is the first time using Mini at Universal City. I used Mini of Valencia in the past, but they recently closed down. I took my car in for a 10K mile service and brake fluid warning light. I used their online scheduling from the website (very easy to use). Mario was the service advisor, and he provided me with exactly how much the service would cost and an estimated time my car would be ready. Mini of Universal City you take the winning trophy for your poor customer service. Your service department annual inspection sent me on the road with cracked sidewalls on my tires while letting me know my car was in perfect conditions. No not perfect. The service advisers didn’t even mention how critical it is driving with the defected tires, One service advisor apparently was charged with checking them & I didn’t hear a single word on the matter. I was brushed off on a phone conversation, my questions & concern’s apparently, didn’t hold any merit. I went elsewhere for 4 new Pirellis, these guys were not interested at all to offer any new tires.Missed opportunity on all levels. No mention at all. It’s unfortunate the service has declined. The moment I walked into the door, Greg was there and greeted me and my partner with a smile. He had the key and car ready to go upon arrival. We took a quick test drive and it was great! He wasn’t pushy or overbearing with the sales at all. Once we returned from the drive, we went to his office and everyone inside were friendly and offered water and coffee. I did let him know that I had financing locked down and that I didn’t need BMW Finance Services. He and his team were very understanding and they kept their word and only ran my credit report against my bank to lock in the deal (I get alerts every time that my credit report is pulled).He returned from the finance office with the paperwork to finalize the deal and trade-in and then we finalized the legalities with Sharon. She was amazing and talking with her felt like I was talking with an old friend. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend going to Mini of Universal City for your next Mini Cooper. Service is typically really good here so I brought my car in for some warranty work. My only issue with my last visit was that I didnt find out that their backlog was so lengthy until I dropped off my vehicle and was told it would take 5-7 business days before they could diagnose and begin to repair the problem. Fortunately I had scheduled my appointment so that a loaner car was available for me when I dropped off my car. Once they were able to get through the queue and get to my car they had it fixed quick enough and I picked up my car 7 days after drop-off. So I give 5 stars for responsiveness to my almost-daily inquiries & the free loaner car which I very much appreciated. After my last experience at Universal Mini, unfortunately it will be my last. I brought my Mini in for service and diagnostic, my husband had to call in to get updates, when we got the service report (in parts and via text) the service advisor told him the technicians think it spark plugs and ignition coils and it costs over a 1,000 dollars. It wasnt a matter of the price, it was the matter of the advisor not being able to confidently explain what the problem was. He asked again when we came in and we were talked to like we were the problem. We then went to the cashier to pick up our car, the cashier asked for my name, I told her and I even spelled it out for her (my name is not easy to spell). She said one moment, then a couple minutes later she asked again as if I was bothering her. I understand that customer service is a hard job, if you have zero training, are tired, and bored with your job then you should move on. If you want to know how great customer service can be, then your General Manager should have your Parts Department and your Car Porter train the rest of the dealership personnel on the power of positive customer interaction.

Jose, my service advisor explained to me very clearly what was to be done and what the expectation of completion would be. This place needs to get their act together. Really bad at time management/time frame. Their story changes how backed up they are and they won’t even look at my car until the following business week to rushing it because they guaranteed a loaner and then realized they messed up and had to get a rental for me, they rushed to get it fixed within 3 days. One of the days, I had a question and the question was not answered until the following business day after them ignoring before asking if I gave the green light. I am at a loss of words of how they pressure you into getting so many additional services, and when you never had issues with what they suggested… now my car is worse off than when I dropped it off. I received notice that the footwell module on my Mini Cooper 2010 was recalled. The solution - NONE.As you can imagine that set me in panic mode, because I was also suffering from a pain that stemmed from the recalled car part.They did the least possible. Had a service appointment at 12pm for just an oil change and they told me it might not be ready until the next morning. Very decent place with nice people working there. I went there after being concerned about an oil leak caused by Valvoline and Eddie took care of my car right away. They have an app where they put all the information that need to be done to your car with the price and you can directly approve or deny service on the app. No more useless phone calls or wasted time.Service was completed in less than 24h for my car and I couldnt be happier. I suppose the icing on the cake was the paperwork I needed to sign off had typos and incorrect entity listed as the dealer and I was told my warranty was good for 1 more year. That is the factory warranty not service as was explained by another dealer. I’m not sure how hard it is to explain that to a customer upfront when they ask about warranty and other terms to decide to purchase, turn in or lease. I had my car serviced in October and they tried to tell me I needed to do it again, it’s the first week of January. They know it too because when I mentioned taking the car, they said most places can’t turn off the warning lights in the car to deter me. Im terribly disappointed with this dealership. We went in for a battery replacement, and we didnt realize we werent getting our car back the same day before handing over the keys and forgot to remove our electronics. Someone took our Skullcandy earbuds and Skullcandy rechargeable battery pack. We told Jose our service advisor about the theft and he told us that it couldnt have been anyone on the team and they havent had any issues with theft in years, instead of actually looking into the issue. Update - went for issues with my front left tire on 04/19. As always, I got an appointment and the staff was super quick and efficient. The tire was replaced and I went sent on my way. This is definitely a dealership with quality service. I love the fact that they dont push service on you - they clearly explain whats needed and whats optional, you pick, they do the work, and call it a day. This is why, now that Im back in LA, I only plan to take my car to Mini at Universal City.First time going to this location. And after two incredibly terrible experiences at this dealership, I would strongly encourage anyone who might consider using their services to look elsewhere.The first time I brought my mini here was in June 2020. Our Service Representative was Mario:I received my car after leaving it there for a week and having spent over $2,000, I found out there was no oil in my car. We called several times to speak to Mario to ask for an explanation as to why my car did not have oil, in case there was a leak of some sort. He never answered or returned our messages.I, myself, put in 2 quarts of oil a week after our service at mini universal. Come November my tensioner broke because there was no oil in my car, costing us an additional $1,500 which could have been prevented if Mario and his team did the job they were paid to do. Brining me to my second experience with mini universal.November 2020,Service Representative Jose:Jose quoted us for $2,000 for a leaking valve which would explain why I didnt have any oil. However, we were not satisfied with their service and we took my car into a mechanic up the street and he found no evidence of an oil leak. Jose lied when he said there was a leak and quoted us for something we didnt need. Jose also suggested that instead of investing our money into my car, we should consider buying a new one (which I found suspicious).My new mechanic found that mini universal DID NOT put oil in my car AGAIN. My mechanic found only ONE quart of oil in my car AFTER we paid Jose and his team $200 for a service diagnosis/oil change, etc.When we asked Jose for an explanation as to why Mario and the team at mini universal did not take care of my car, as they were paid to do, he responded by telling us that I was not driving the car properly, however he didnt explain what proper driving meant.Also, mysteriously, my tire pressure sensors magically stopped working after receiving my car from Jose.Overall, please save yourself some money and a headache. Look elsewhere for quality and qualified mechanics.

I want to start by stating first and foremost: Irene Padilla is amazing! She helped minimize the (immense) stress I had of having to purchase a car right away. That alone was enough for me to be thankful for! Update! My car was fixed at another place, and only had to get the spark plugs changed, SHAME ON YOU Mini of Universal, you will loose more customers!I am sad that I will not be purchasing a new car. After my recent experience. I wish Billy was back but after he left service went down. This year, I made all these recommended repairs. Now for the first time in years my engine light went on and my car is done, or I can fix it if give them $16k, and after all that they wanted to charge me for doing more damaged to my car, I picked it up non of the windows were working and Eddie said well its because your FRM module does work. All that was working and your put the window down when you were inspecting the car. They fixed it. Also, they cant really tell me if they can fix it, even though I paid for the full inspection but said cylinder 3 is misfiring, and I really wanted to see how they can fix it, it would cost me 3k just to really know what is really going on with my car :( he said it just happens with cars. Ive only taken my car to one location for any repairs and most oil changes and few others at Valencia if they were booked but 99% of the time at Mini of Universal. Everything was good and now is not. i feel so taken advantage of :(

After one year, I still regret for taking my mini to this service. My car’s MPG went down from 28 to 24 after I for maintenance from this dealer. The windshield washer fluid wasn’t refilled. I asked for invoice and was told I would get invoice after I made the payment, though I have never got anything clearing said how much was for each repair and for the tires. I’ve never got receipt for complete payment. They only gave me receipts for the payment which was just small part of my entire payment. I would never use this dealer again.
