I’m a Pt. of Dr. Dang & have had 5 surgeries for skin cancer, most on my face. I’m also a trauma nurse, an educated reviewer.First- her plastics experience shows- minimal scaring due to excellent technique. No infections or pain.Her suture line fallowed natural folds, not tight & perfectly spaced to avoid the Scarface look.Second- Dr. Dang runs a tight clinic, communication, cleanliness & flow is reassuring. Explanations are good too. One important thing I’m trying to get across is the caring. From front desk to clinical assistants I’m totally impressed.Getting so many stitches over a shore time is stressful & this can affect wound healing not to mention sleeping patterns & overall happiness. Thank you Dr. Dang for helping me through this.Starting a new job, I was concerned about having a 5in bandage on my face for my first day. Dr. Dang & her staff arranged for an early surgery (working during their lunch time). Can’t express how much I appreciate your expertise & heart, I will pass it forward…

Dr Dang is the best! She is super friendly, explains all she is doing in a non-condescending way, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. I highly recommend her and the entire staff at Golden State Dermatology. We have had appointments and surgeries at the Tracy, Livermore and Walnut Creek offices and they are all top notch!

In March I had a regular check up with Dr. Dang. While I was there I asked about a few other procedures she does at her office. Its nice that she doesnt try and sell you something you dont need. After my appointment I had my first facial with Tracy. It was the best facial ever. She really is as amazing as all the reviews that I read before my appointment. Tracy explains everything and gives really good advice.

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my back by Dr Dang. She was so wonderful. I get so much anxiety and she and her staff could not have been more caring! The procedure was painless! No need for me to anxiety! It’s been a couple weeks and I have no scar at all! Her staff is amazing! So kind and caringI highly recommend Dr. Dang! Would love to try their skin care products too! A +++.

I happened to see these reviews today. I saw Dr. Dang a few years ago & had the same negnative experience as written by others. I thought it was just me so reading all these reviews was beneficial. I believe this treatment is the Dang office way of choosing the exact patients they want. Its her practice & her building so maybe she has the right to choose. She doesnt have the right to our money or insurance payments so I hope those that follow us share poor service info with their insurance providers.

I have been a patient with Dr. Dang for many years. I was immediately impressed with her thorough skin exam, efficiency, professionalism and knowledge. As a patient with continual skin issues including skin cancers, I have complete confidence and trust in my treatments with Dr. Dang. Her esthetician, Tracie, is amazing. She is knowledgeable about skin care and skin products. Tracie loves her job which is reflected in the personal care and consideration I receive with each appointment.

My first time coming into this office to get a facial and it is also located on the same building where I got my eye glasses. I told my self why not give it a try. The lady who did my facial was Tracie. She was very nice and friendly. The session lasted for 45 minutes to an hour. I felt light and relax after the session. I would definitely come back again.

I have been going to Dr. Dang for quite a number of years now and I have been very satisfied. Although she is very busy, she listened to me and provided me with advise on my skin issues. She also explained to me what is going on and provided options for me. She also was willing to make adjustments to my care after I told her about my observations. I will start by a little background. I was referred to Dr. Dangs office in Tracy, due to my fingernails were falling off. I had dealt with chronic coughing starting in 2016. I saw Dr. Dang in 2018, as multiple fingernails started pulling from their nail beds and completely falling off. Dr. Dang seemed as if she came in on skates. She flew in so fast, I barely had time to discuss my case. She diagnosed me in like 5 minutes. I was diagnosed with Nail Clubbing, which happens to people with low oxygen. Later, I was diagnosed with Lung Disease.For months, after seeing Dr. Dang, Ive tried to get my medical records as my illness is work related and needs to be noted for Workers Compensation and effects how much Im awarded, with my other linked illness. I called her Tracy office 4 to 5 times. Then they told me to come in and fill out a release, because my records were at the Pleasanton office. Did that, still no records. I kept calling and the last time, the person answering the phone said, Is this Kimberly A? Yes. Well, her Pleasanton office wont send us the records, so you have to contact them. SHE OWNS BOTH OFFICES. Ive called, left messages, got United Healthcare and Affinity Medical Group in on a grievance. They have lied over and over about sending me the records. To this day, STILL DONT HAVE THEM. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. PATIENTS DESERVE TO BE TREATED AND LISTENED TOO.

Dr. Dang and her staff are the best in the area. After three Dermasweep treatments by Tracie I see a noticeable improvement in the texture of my skin. She continues to update skincare recommendations based on how my skin responds to treatments. Dr. Dang has successfully treated two of my teenagers acne and my own various skin conditions over the years. We will all continue to see Dr. Dang even though we have become Kaiser patients for our other health care needs.

I have been going to Dr. Minh Dang for several years now. I was referred to her by my primary care physician because I developed an embarrassing case of adult acne. Dr. Dang not only helped clear my skin, but she prescribed me products that helped rid me of my acne scars. Amazing! I love her facility because it has a spa like seating and ambience. She sells a variety of professional products with some formulated by a pharmacy especially for her at a lesser cost. Being 40 years old, I believe everyone should find a good dermatologist and take great care of their skin. For me, thats Dr. Dang!

She is so intelligent and sharp and never misses anything. She even caught a really rare cancer on my husband so that we could get appropriate treatment. Dr. Minh Dang is a great skin doctor. Been coming here to treat eczema after many failed attempts at another well known office in Livermore. There is a stark contrast to these two offices competing for your business. When we schedule our dermatologic needs here, we enjoy a warm and welcoming staff. that behaves in a professional manner. We especially LOVE the esthetician, Tracy.She is very gentle, yet extremely thorough. Skin always looks amazing after one of her very relaxing facial treatments! Also, the facility is always clean and smells nice.

I had a couple of facial appointments with Tracie, the aesthetician, at Dr. Dangs office and every time I come out of the office my skin was smooth and clean with a healthy glow to it. I tried the regular facial and microdermabrasion and I like the results after every time I see her. I have oily skin and is easily prone to acne but after those treatments I dont breakout so much afterwards and days thereafter. Tracie is a very nice person who you can easily to get along with and talk to. She also gives a lot of recommendations to help you with your skin as well. I will be seeing her again very soon for another appointment.

I have gone to Dr. Minh Dang for 12 years and find her to be very professional, gentle and kind. If a skin problem is detected, she treats it promptly and does careful follow up. I like that Dr. Dang also has a physician assistant working in her Pleasanton office, who is available for appointments especially if you need one on short notice. Her office staff is friendly and efficient.

I visited Dr. Dang for 2 skin problems. One was diagnosed quickly (hope the diagnosis is correct, will see another Dr to confirm): I was told is normal aging and handed a leaflet.My second problem has been going on for years. I had seen several doctors for it and have a medication ointment that usually works. However, I had not suffered from it almost a year and then suddenly it started and is not going away. I am pretty sure that apart from stress, nutrition also plays a role. I thought I had found the right lifestyle, but obviously something went wrong again.I was hoping to discuss with the Dr whether some tests could help find a systemic problem. I was hoping that this young doctor with a stellar resume knows something new and different, something deeper.I tried to convey this to the doctor, but she did not pay attention. To my dismay she started talking about her own skin condition. She told me she had the same problem and went on explaining how she treated herself successfully. No diagnosis was given.How can she be certain her problem is the same as mine just by looking at the lesions? How can she know that what she did for herself will work for me? Just from looking at it? She is 30 years younger, we are genetically different, we certainly have different diets and different levels of stress. I listened and kept repeating that I have been doing all the things she advised me to do each time I have a flare.I think the way she handled my second problem was unprofessional! Sorry to be among the few who do not approve of the doctor, but I have seen many doctors over the years and have developed an opinion what a good doctor is. The good doctor listens and thinks. Dr Dang is just one of the many who have no time to listen.I expected more from her, after reading her stellar resume. Years of training, even some research. I was hoping for a young doctor who will do some something innovative for me. Disappointed!

My high rating is for Tracie Nystrom, the licensed Medical Esthetician. I had both of my teenage children come in for acne facials & the next day I went in for a facial for myself. We were all first timers & Tracie was wonderful! So kind & patient. She explained everything as she went along, which was actually very interesting. She ended the session with a nice massage. We will all be returning to Tracie for our facials!

I have been going to Dr. Dang for years. This year doing my yearly mole check, she found precancerous basil cells on the back of my neck. I had no idea! But with the amount of sun that Ive gotten in my day, Im not that surprised! Just grateful to have had it caught so early on. She also helped my tween daughter with her acne, and shes having clearer skin already. Dr. Dang is very nice, professional and an expert!

My husband and I have been taken care of by Dr. MinhDang and her staff for many years. She and the entire staff are friendly, helpful and professional. She is the best at the MOHs surgery. We both have had facial basal cell cancers that were removed that way and you can hardly find a scar. We would totally recommend her.

I have seen Dr. Dang for over 5 years now. I originally came to her after countless visits to 2 other well known dermatologists in the East Bay who were unable to give me an accurate diagnosis for a condition I had. Dr. Dang was able to make an accurate diagnosis in 1 visit. Since the diagnosis I have been treated regularly with complete satisfaction. Ive also entrusted Dr. Dang and her team to provide additional preventive services as part as my dermatology regiment. My husband was also very satisfied with Dr. Dangs expertise and thorough examination. I often recommend MD Dermatology to my friends and colleagues whenever they are in need of a professional staff willing to provide quality service and proactive advice.

If I could give negative stars I would. Not only does Dr. Dang rush through appointments that take months to get, she also prescribed me a topical medication I am allergic to. This is the only medication I have listed as an allergy on my chart, and she prescribed it to me to apply directly to my face. Luckily, I only used the medication a couple times, and complications were minimal, but I would not recommend this doctor. I had to seek a second opinion after the disorganization I experienced in this office.This visit was back in October 2014, I didnt get a bill until April 2015. When I called the office to dispute the bill due to the doctor prescribing the one medication I was allergic to, the person I spoke with said they would make note in my file that I did not feel I should have to pay the bill. I felt good, thinking it would be all taken care of. About a month later, I start getting calls from a collections agency! The office actually sent me to collections for a bill they took over 6 months to send to me, after only one notice in the mail. (They blamed the bill delay on my insurance, although I receive all other bills from every other doctor I visit in a very timely manner). When I called to clear it up, they refused, and told me until my balance was paid in full, my name would not be removed from collections.Overall, very disappointing experience with this office and doctor, and I am seeking legal advice on this matter as well.

I waited weeks to see Dr. Dang. Upon my visit, she spoke softly and quickly and didnt give me a chance to ask questions. She was in a rush to leave the room on the fourth minute, likely to visit the next patient or end her day. She was providing instructions on her exit for the prescribed medication as she walked backwards out of the room and closing the door. She does not value her patients. Dr. Dang is the worse doctor I have ever visited. Save your time, patience and money and do NOT see this patient mill of a doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dang 17 years. Although I have experienced other dermatologists, she is the best dermatologist I have ever experienced. She is my go to dermatologist when I am in need of dermatological treatment. She has constantly provided excellent and quality services over the years. She has always made me feel valued as a patient. She takes her time to give effective diagnoses. She knows my skin.When I ask her particular questions about my skin, she always provide me with medically based information. Sometimes I think I may know whats best for my skin. Sometimes I will inquire about specific procedures that I have seen advertised on television. Dr. Dang always take time to explain the pros and cons about particular products and procedures. As such, Dr. Dang provides me with the best solutions for skincare needs. She has kept me from wasting money on the hype that I have seen on commercials.Throughout the years I have referred my friends and family to see Dr. Dang, as she (and her staff) consistently provides the best quality services for all skin care needs including cosmetic procedures such as facials and microdermabrasion treatments.Recently, I received microdermabrasion from Tracie, an esthetician. The treatment was wonderful! My skin feels supple and soft; it has a glow. At 60 years-young, I appreciate having a team of experts like Dr. Dang and her staff. They work toward keeping me looking and feeling younger (than my biological age).I am thankful and blessed to have Dr. Dang as my dermatologist.

I was there for my 2 year old daughter, who had severe eczema. Her eczema was very severe that it was bleeding because of the repeated scratching. Since her eczema was in her under thighs, we prepared her by undressing her before the doctor arrived. But the doctors assistance said that was unnecessary - which kind of surprised me. However when the doctor came, she did not even bother to look at my daughters eczema, and did not even touch her. It was as if a generalized lecture on eczema. General do s and dont s. I trusted the doctor and assumed, it may be because of her experience she is able to confidently understand the condition. And prescribed some medicines and blood work. Prescribed medicine did not assuage my daughters eczema. And no detail on the blood work was elaborated to us till now, that is after 2 months of the visit. Called the doctors office, they said, they have not received the blood report from the lab. I again called the Lab (Quest) who said, the report was faxed to doctors office within 48 hours.. Still waiting to hear from the doctors office on the blood work. Not sure what purpose was solved visiting this doctor. We neither understood from the blood work on the allergy nor the eczema was minimized. We are in the same position as we were before meeting the doctor. Better stay away.

If you want to go to a dermatologist to keep you from dying from melanoma and can diagnose your moles/ spots correctly-- this is the one. .I originally came to her to do MOHS surgery on my ear (basil cell)and recommended from other dermatologist.(approx 15yrs ago) I stayed here because she did such a wonderful job and thanks that I did. Since then 3 moles were melanoma and removed at super early stage that she caught They were removed so early that didnt have to have any treatments after removal. She is a nice, smart but most importantly extremely competent doctor. I dont come for the chitchat but her expertise!!

I used to visit this office for acne, but it is basically all cured now. Something I have struggled with for years has now finally mostly been defeated! I now focus more on evening and smoothing the appearance of my skin so I have been doing more facials with the estheticians. the office is a far drive for me and sometimes I have to wait a while for an appointment and I sometimes get rescheduled, but it is all worth it and almost two years later I am still a client.

I went to see Tracie for a Micro Dermabrasion last week. It was a very positive experience. She was amazing. I felt like I was in a spa. My skin hasnt looked or felt better in a very long time. It was my first visit for this procedure. I am looking forward to the next one.

She is horrible as a doctor for acne patients. I took my son for acne treatment to prevent scarring. We followed treatments to the T. Ultimately his face ended up scarred, and he was emotionally distraught. Her response: dont worry I can laser it but you will have to pay. The insurance doesnt cover it. She quickly took on a defensive attitude and accepted no responsibility. I should have taken him elsewhere, which I eventually did. That doctor quickly had the acne under control. His response: Your sons face is scarred because the fixture didnt know what she was doing. Dont hesitate to quit seeing her when your sixth sense is telling you something is wrong.

Ive been seeing Dr Dang for several years now, as has my husband. He has had numerous Mohs procedures on his face and head, and Dr Dangs skill has meant his scarring has been extremely minimal. For myself, I have had several areas burnt off with nitrogen and just recently I had a PDT facial treatment. Dr Dang also diagnosed a skin condition (brachioradial pruritus) I had on my arms that has been misdiagnosed by 2 other doctors and had been bothering me for about 5 years. Thanks to her, I now have it under control and know what I should do when I have a flare up The reception staff and nurses are very kind and always do a great job. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Dang to my friends when they ask for a recommendation for a dermatologist.

Came here for acne. Waiting room is clean and well furnished. Receptionists are kind, patient, and helpful. Nurse was helpful and professional. The doctor seemed experienced and gave me multiple options to treat my acne. The visit was swift, and I left with a few topical prescriptions and an alternative plan for future.

I’ll try to make a long story short. My husband went and saw a thoracic vascular surgeon upon his primary doctors request due to leg discoloration and to rule out vein insufficiency. He has a ppo insurance therefore he can research and chose the physician he wishes to see based on reviews and such. I chose Dr Ramachandra. He was great as well as his office staff. He said it came on so quickly that he didn’t think it was vein insufficiency but recommended an ultrasound just to be sure. He then scheduled the ultrasound and had that procedure done. He was right and it wasn’t that. He then recommended that he see a dermatologist. I did my research and chose Dr Minh Dang. He scheduled an appointment and we took time off work. We arrived at the office with the records from Dr Ramchandra including the ultrasound report. I was a little worried when we walked in because it seemed to be a haven for cosmetic procedures. The office staff was pleasant and we didn’t have to wait long. We (husband and myself) were roomed and took a seatin chairs (not the exam table). Dr Dang then entered the room and asked why he was there. He explained everything. He had blue jeans, socks and athletic shoes on. She didn’t ask him to sit on the exam table. Didn’t have him remove his shoes and socks. (as the discoloration is on the ankles and lower half of legs. She lifted a pant leg for about a ½ a second and went onto google to show us pictures of vein insufficiency. I explained he had went and seen a vascular surgeon and had an ultrasound preformed. I tried to hand her the records but she was still too busy googling pictures. I then repeated myself that we had the records to show otherwise, which she took from me and set on the counter. She was still googling pictures. Aren’t you going to read the report from the other physician? She said its not that bad. (Wait how do you even know that? You didn’t even look at his legs) She gave him a prescription for a cream and told him to wear compression socks and off she went. Wait…. Do we need a follow up? Can it get worse? Do we go back to the vascular surgeon? I had more questions leaving her office then when we walked in. About 20 minutes later my phone rings and it was her office asking if we would like to come back so she can take a biopsy of the area. What????? Do we want to come back? My question is do you want us to come back and how come it wasn’t done while we were there? Needless to say no we didn’t return there and I filed a complaint with my insurance company against her. (On a side note. Some may be wondering why the wife is writing the review. I work for UCSF Benioff Childrens and have worked for the same physicians for over 20 years. I know at least a little of how a physician should be and this isn’t it. I know we all have bad days and I’m hoping this was her worst. Good luck if you decide to give her a try.

First Appointment:- I am suffering from hair fall for a while now, and more recently acne. So I was looking for a dr online. Dr dang seemed to be one of the highly rated ones, so I chose her, also because I was looking for a female dr. She’s pretty busy so it takes a while to get an appointment with her, but I didn’t mind that, i thought the wait means she’s worth it. When I went to see her for the first time, I waited for 35 mins before she came into my room, despite me repeatedly telling her nurses that i couldn’t wait too long as I had to go pick my son from school. She finally came in, and once she was in I thought ok I have 20 mins I want them to be really useful, because i really did want to discuss my issues in detail and find a solution. But it seemed like dr dang was in more of a rush than me. She took a look at my skin, started discussing meds for that, she suggested retin A and antibiotic and gave me very few instructions about how to apply them. So I asked them to atleast tell me which med will be which, so they jotted down the names of the meds and wrote down which would be the retin A and which would be the antibiotic. For my hair she said we’ll need to do blood tests first. I repeatedly asked her to check my scalp, As I wanted to know more about what was going on with my hair. She did, told me it was normal, and we need blood tests first. I thought ok maybe that’s a good direction to be going in. She left in a hurry (total time 10 mins) and told me to follow up in 5 weeks. For someone whose suffering from as much hair fall as I am, 5 weeks means 35 days of continuous hairfall. I wanted to discuss my diet with her, my shampoo with her. But well she was out the door already. Before leaving when I asked her nurse about the skin medication instructions, she told me the instructions would come in with the meds :/ when the meds came in (pharmacy delivered them which was kinda cool) there were no instructions with one and only with second one. I tried to google and figure out myself which one was the retin and which was the antibiotic, because the names given by the dr were different from the names on these meds. Also called the pharmacy to ask. Anyways, as carefully as I could I used the meds, which totally killed my skin. It started to peel off and get all red and patchy, even though I was not using as much, and as frequently as the dr had asked and was taking all the precautions associated with them. I wonder what they would’ve done if I had used according to the doctors given dosage, which was way more 😒 so after a couple of days, I just left them and desperately started moisturizing my skin to bring it back to life. My husband was away during this time on a trip and was so shocked to see my face when he came back. All my friends asked me what happened to my skin, a question they never had to ask before even I suddenly developed acne on my usually smooth skin. Well even then I thought it’s ok, my skin is sensitive so I’ll just leave it be and see her again in 5 weeks, this time only for my hair, which are getting worse each day. And here comes the reason why I’m compelled to give her a bad rating, something I neverrrrr do, no matter how bad the experience. But I want to save people from being tricked by her high ratings just like myself. See second review plz.

I have had a very good experience in this office. I go to the Tracy office for Dr. Dang. She caught a melanoma which my previous doctor had missed, and I had gone there for the purpose of a skin check because I had previous actinic keratosis as well as a basal cell carcinoma and a squamous cell carcinoma. Thats life living in the sun all summer when youre a kid before they had sunscreen ! staff is helpful and Ive barely wait more than 10 minutes for my appointment which is a big relief because I drive from Lodi to get to the Tracy office.

Im sure the doctor is great, although I will not be seen here. I called the front desk to make an appointment, when asking about my insurance, they said they dont take it. I said OK disappointed and the girl hung up on me. I called back wanting to schedule anyway and pay out of pocket, when she picked up the phone she tried to put me on hold again, I said No, I just got hung up on.... and she hung up again. Absolutely unacceptable. Just because my insurance isnt accepted doesnt mean you should turn me away AND without even a goodbye. I called back to speak to a manager and of course she was occupied so I spoke to someone from billing department to let someone, anyone, know of this situation. This review is to make sure that I am heard and someone does something about that awful customer service. Because of it, I dont want to be seen in this facility.

After a whole month waiting for an appointment, Dr. Dang did not even take one look at my raised, inflamed birth mark on my neck and declared it was benign because it is a common growth on older people and no treatment necessary, at the visit. Her assistant had a print out ready to hand to me when she walked into the examine room.

I was referred to Dr. Dang after countless efforts of getting my acne under control. I went to a previous treatment aesthetician that helped a lot with my acne and hydrating my skin from being on Tretinoin (from a previous dermatologist) that did nothing for my skin but keep it dry and peeling. Unfortunately, my acne and pigmentation, which was around my forehead and cheeks, from previous acne breakouts wouldnt go away no matter what benzoyl peroxide or brightening products I used. Dr. Dang prescribed me two topical medications, which were used to keep my acne under control and lighten up my pigmentation, that I was very satisfied with because Ive noticed my skin has progressively been getting better.

I dont know why there are some negative reviews on Dr Dang. For my kids case, after seeing 3 doctors, Dr Dangs diagnosis is the most effective one. I unfortunately had hives due to an allergic reaction and because I was refused care I went into an anaphylactic reaction. A simple appointment could have prevented this issue.
