For many months, Ive passed this site and never bothered to enter. Ever so often, Ill walk through Tweedy Mile and think to myself, I wonder what this site has in store. Finally, after many passive walks, unlimately, I decided to explore this quirky site. Its actually a great little spot for ice cream and coffee, cookies. Hence the name, milk+cookies! Since this place is owned by younger folks who want to emphasize their business. They naturally have my blessing, its a good to show some love.

Ambiance: This place is adorable. Its small, but they used the space nicely.Service: The guy was so helpful, gave great suggestions, and even though we made 15 before closing, he was so patient.Food: I sampled a few flavors, and they were delicious! Im usually a Thai Tea girl, but for some reason, I was obsessed with their French vanilla, so I opted for my version of milk and cereal, and it did not disappoint ! The cookies were the perfect soft/crunchy texture, and the ice cream was creamy and soft

I want to start off by saying that I love South Gate and I am happy to see businesses offer something different, as this business does. The ice cream and cookies are not bad… However, it pains me to say that I cannot understand how this shop charges MORE than Los Angeles’s most premier and delicious ice cream shops. Compare prices to Salt & Straw, Van Leeuwen, Paradis, Diddy Riese, and other boutique ice cream and gelato shops in upscale neighborhoods and this place charges 25-30% more. How? With or without an explanation for prices, I cannot bring myself to pay these amounts for the product. They’ve been open a while so I take it locals are willing to pay... With all that said, I sincerely wish them good luck.

I put an order for pick up through their website for a dozen cookies and ice cream. I waited maybe 2 minutes because the cookies were barely coming out of the oven. Im saying that as in its a good thing! The cookies were freshly made and we had to wait about 5 minutes so they could be cold enough to eat.I ordered 6 chocolate abuelita and 6 chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate abuelita cookies were bomb! The ice cream was chocolate and it was really good!They were so good! I recommend supporting them during this time! Support local businesses!

My wife and I stopped by this establishment recently because it’s a new local business and it felt refreshing to find a gem like this down Tweedy Blvd. So, we stopped by because we wanted to support. I think South Gate needs more places like this shop that brings a POP to the city. The location is small, it’s an intimate setting with a beautifully decorated customer area. It’s a treat and honestly the name of this shop had me in a complete ratatouille moment. You feel like you re-live treats from your childhood days. I mean, who doesn’t like milk + cookies. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and drinks. They have an ice cream sandwich and they have a variety of flavors. We tried the horchata ice cream sandwich with oatmeal cookies. HIGHLY recommend both the horchata ice cream and the oatmeal cookies. Their coffee is organic and did not disappoint. We picked up chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies to bring home. We’re definitely returning!

Super delicious treat! Ice cream sandwich made with a sugar cookie, cream cheese/berry ice cream and a Mexican chocolate cookie. The Mexican chocolate and cinnamon sugar combination was the perfect mix. Thanks Ms. K for the suggestion❤I also purchased 1 chocolate chip and 1 oatmeal raisin cookie... ate it today (the next day) and they were just as soft and chewy as they were yesterday.

I ordered the abuelita chocolate ice cream with chocolate chip cookies (I’m a chocolate lover) and it was delicious! The cookies were right out of the oven and the ice cream was sweet, smooth and light - truly perfect. I love how cute the store looks both inside and out, and I love how simple the options are. And lastly, I appreciated how kind and welcoming the team was as soon as I entered. Great desserts, great people, and great store design - go support them!

First time here, I’ve been wanting to try this cookies for a while back, I do follow the business on IG, the cashier was super helpful and recommended the chocolate chip cookies and fruity pebbles cookie both were super delicious. I highly recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth . And I will be coming back.

I most definitely recommend this place. I had the Horchata ice cream and Mexican chocolate icecream 🤤.It is a small business with a very cute aesthetic. Costumer service is great. Wait time can be a little long but that is because there is usually like 1-2 people serving. I am mindful that we are in a pandemic and I dont mind the wait because my Specialty Latte was delicious!!! It went great with the fresh cookies they bake there also!

Peanut butter ice cream (vegan) and abuelita chocolate cookie is the best. Owners were very friendly and informed us of all the options. I like the simplicity of making a choice. I went to get ice cream and was not bombarded with 100+ choices. Definitely coming back.

This place is awesome! First off I want to say that I was excited to see such a nice looking business opening in Downtown South Gate and owned and operated by South Gate residents that makes it a lot better.I went there tonight with the family to give it a try and it did not disappoint. We each had the ice cream sandwich, each sandwich was different and all 3 tasted just as good as the one before, I know because I tried everyones.I also bought 4 cookies to-go, because they were so good with the ice cream, I ended up eating them a couple of minutes ago as a little late night snack, milk + cookies of course.Milk + Cookies looks good and the food tastes good. They make their own cookies, 3 flavors, oatmeal & raisin, chocolate chip and I believe the last one was vanilla chips with macadamia. They also make their own ice cream, I dont remember all the flavors but I do remember french vanilla, chocolate & horchata.Everyone take your kids there after school, youll love it.

Loved the smell of fresh cookies you get hit with as soon as you open the door. I had ordered the mexican chocolate cookies which were nice and chewy. I had set some to the side and 2 days later they were still delicious, soft and chewy.

Latte review !!! Tried it twice, latte is basically all milk . Not sure what the issue is, taste just like warm milk . To be fair we have only tried the lattes .Not to say the rest of their stuff is not great ! Only my honest opinion, and not trying to be mean .Adding I was not there in person, but had the latte brought home to me by the husband if not I would have asked why the coffee flavor was not prominent. This ice cream shop is just what South Gate needs. The decor makes it so vibrant and attractive to the eye. The handmade ice cream is amazing and beats any Michoacánas in every corner. My favorite is the abuelita chocolate with an oatmeal cookie. The coffee is organic and they have vegan options for the ice cream. The owners and employees are so nice and helpful, they really care about their customers. This is my new favorite spot.

I used to be a regular here till I moved to Long Beach, I haf the chance to stop by and I ordered an iced horchata latte. It was horrible, it tastes like water, no flavor whatsoever. Karen is no longer there, the person who helped me seemed bothered to do it. It was so disappointing

I never knew about this place until a couple of days ago and I told myself that I needed to go. So I went and I don’t regret it. It’s such a cute place and the employees are super friendly. And OMG the coffee is delicious. The ice cream is too! I like this place better than Starbucks. I will definitely be coming back.

One of my favorite new places to visit in South Gate! Its so clean and modern inside and the customer service is beyond excellent. I love all the delicious flavors of ice cream (horchata, abuelita chocholate, etc.) and theres even a vegan option which is my favorite even though Im not vegan! And the cookies....ahh...the cookies. Freshly baked, they are a joy to eat and the perfect accompaniment to the ice cream. Try the oatmeal...or the peanut butter...or the chocolate chip! Heck, try them ALL. You wont regret it! And for you coffee lovers, they serve Patria Coffee which is organic, sustainably source and roasted in small batches. Great ice cream, great cookies, great coffee, great ambiance, and great service!I love milk+cookies!

I went a day ago and let me put your mind at ease with the 1 star review. Iced coffee is iced coffee at the end of the day what makes this place amazing is that they use ORGANIC coffee. If you want low quality expensive iced coffee then go to Starbucks. This place oozes of quality. Yes the cookies may be small but they are jam packed with flavor and nothing like I’ve tasted in South Gate. This store’s quality is so good it belongs in Redondo Beach. This place is an amazing instagramable location in this small city. Definitely worth the price especially if you’re going to drive to Downey to pay a similar/ same price at another small cafe. Get a cookie and scoop of ice cream. I’m an LA Foodie and can definitely tell you this is an amazing location. Also this location offers VEGAN ice cream!!!

I visited this establishment cause my GF was very interested in it, once we got there the lady behind the counter was very welcoming. Its a chill environment. The reason Im giving it one star is for this. I was gonna ask a simple question about an item while my girlfriend was looking at flavors of coffee and before i could even finish my question the blond lady shunt me down and said actually i rather take her coffee order first cause it takes a while to make coffe -_- like dude i was gonna ask a very simple question about choices. It takes only a few seconds. I was interested in buying but i lost my interest after that. Ive worked customer service for over a decade and you cant just shunt people out for time convenience. And just fyi it took them like 1 minute to get the coffee ready. Im sure this establishment is well but Im definitely not coming back here to support it.
