12 of the 16 windows that were installed were defective and had gas leaks. Windows are completely ruined and Milgaard says they are out of warranty by less than a year and said tough luck even though these issues happened less than 5 years after installation. If they cared about making quality products they would take care of their customers. I will never purchase their windows again. Pure junk. Thousands of dollars wasted. Horrible customer service.Update: they wrote me below and then ignored my 2 emails.

Very satisfied with the service call on my windows. Knowledgeable tech was able to diagnose and to eliminate all of the issues I reported.Moreover, he had also provided me with important tips on how to maintain windows and doors mechanisms.In general, I would recommend to have a mandatory visit to all who had Milgard windows installed to learn how to maintain and how to properly operate. This was missing from the initial installation team.

My service call was to replace two small windows that became discolored over time. The Milgard Representative was on time, professional, and finished the job very efficiently. Each of the workers were very professional and kind. The bad news is it took them 3 visits to complete the installation. Even though I told the customer service rep that although I live on the first floor, it is not street level. They didnt listen to that and only sent one person to do the install. He knew fairly quickly that he needed a second person and they would install from the outside. The next pair arrived about 3 weeks later and were able to install 6 out of 9 windows. 3 of the windows were not the right size so they notified the proper people and it took another three to four weeks before they could return to finish the job. Today they arrived and were able to install the last three windows without a hitch. They were the same duo from the second visit. They also got quite lucky that they found a parking space as Mondays have street sweeping from 8am to Noon. They arrived around 9:15am. If a parking spot had not opened up they would have had to unload the windows and repark somewhere much further away. My recommendation is to ask the customer if there is limited parking due to street sweepers and work the appointment times around that. Also, it would have been nicer if it didnt take so long between appointments. Although the men get a 5 rating from me, the company gets a 4.

The service/warranty department after only a brief description and pictures, dispatched a crew on a day at our convenience. 25 years ago I put all new milgard windows and doors in my house. Today they look just as new and great as the day after they were installed. The quality is absolutely the best. 3 times over the years I had issues and called the service dept. All three times including just this week (25 yrs later!) their customer service and care was outstanding! They make it so easy and 100% guaranteed replacement window for issue no questions asked and the nicest service tech came and did the assessment and install all in one hour. We remodeled our kitchen six years ago. Last year I noticed the two smaller sliding windows on either side of a picture window were getting foggy. I contacted Milgard and they promptly replaced the two windows. My technician, Eric, was prompt, polite and replaced the windows in a 15 minute service call. The Milgard repairman 1) called to say he was on his way; 2) showed up a few minutes early 3) fixed the balancer in the window as requested; 4) discovered that the original balancer was not the correct one for the window (probably why it broke; but of course I had requested the same as a replacement) ; 5) returned to his truck to see if he did have the correct balancer; 6) found the correct part, and 7) replaced the incorrect one with the correct part (worked much better). He also advised us on how to use silicon spray to help our windows move more smoothly. All with a smile on his face. This excellent repair service makes us lean toward Milgard for future window needs. Thanks, Milgard!

Went to the showroom to open and close some aluminum and vinyl windows and doors to decide about purchasing. Well, I really liked how they open and close. If you hire a contractor that can install them correctly, these windows and doors will be really nice!If the contractor doesnt install them correctly, it could cause issues like opening and closing and leaking air.

Milgard representative was on time and explained what he was going to do to fix the window (clouding on the inside of double pane window). He was efficient, clearly explaining what he was doing and what likely caused the seals fail. The window pane was replaced, cleaned and put back together within 30 minutes. All work was done from the inside and it was covered under the warranty. I am very happy with the work. I highly recommend Milgard windows and their fabulous warranty service.

Review for Milgard French Doors:I recently installed Milgard French doors in my home, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. These doors have turned out to be defective, causing water leaks into my home and damaging the new floors. Despite providing proof of the defects, Milgard has failed to stand behind their product and offer any meaningful solution. Their customer service has been poor, and I would not recommend Milgard to anyone based on this experience.

I called on getting my 25+ year old windows fixed because they wouldnt go up and down anymore. I had no idea what great service Milgard had. We had the original order (we are the original owners). The first technician came out and fixed the pully system, but then he noted that the glass inserts actually had failed. He ordered new glass pane and today they were replaced by a second technician. This entire process was very easy. The technicians are knowledgeable, pleasant to work with and very efficient. We are VERY pleased with our Milgard windows.

Out of the box, my vinyl french door had a weatherstripping issue. A factory repair person arrived and even after changing the seal, he was not able to fully seal the door. I ordered nine(9) windows and one (1) sliding door from Milgard. I installed the windows within two weeks of arrival. After installation, I noticed that the screen was damaged (see the photo). The damage is due to a bad workmanship from Milgard. It has been less than a year, so Milgard should stand behind their product and fix the lack of quality control.The response I got that I should have reported the issues with 5 days. What kind of warranty and support is that? I took me a while to find windows installer. Here is the response I got:I apologize but the screen is ripped. This was not reported to us within the 5th business days. One of our window glass was cracked by a flying rock ( probably by the gardener when he was blowing the leafs). I had assumed that the Milgard representative would be coming over to inspect the windows to make sure that there really was a manufacturing or material problem and then there would another step or two before the window was fixed. I was pleasantly surprised when the repair tech showed up - looked at the windows and FIXED THEM ON THE SPOT! The representative called before he arrived, then came in fully masked and gloved - took a look at my windows and replaced the glass in both of the problem windows and was done in less than 30 minutes. I have 3 large windows downstairs that I had planned on replacing and Milgard had my business!

Recently two windows in the kitchen were not opening and closing properly. I hesitated to call for repair because I no longer had the original receipt and paperwork. However I saw that Milgard advertises a life time guarantee, so I called the 800 number. It was a long wait on hold but well worth it. When I finally got to the representative she was knowledgeable, helpful and patient. We set up a service appointment and a technician arrived to fix the windows by replacing the inner sliding pieces, free of charge. Super satisfied and glad we made the choice to buy Milgard!

Thank you so much for fixing my Milgard Tuscany sliding glass door. We came back from vacation to find the inside panel of glass shattered. Customer Service was easy to work with, kind and professional. The two Technicians sent to fix the glass were pros. How come I wasn’t treated the way these people were ? I called Milgard to come and see our windows that were fogging and did not close completely and a tech guy said it was from an atmospheric condition . Why not all of them fogged ? They did not live up to their warranty or promises in their selling . I would never buy any windows from them if had known how they would not stand by there guaranty . Recently we notice that there was moisture and dust between the double panes of one of our Milgard windows. We filled out the online claim form and submitted it to Milgard along with photos of the window in question. Within a few weeks we were contacted by Milgard with a date and time that a Milgard technician would come to our home and replace the window. That day was yesterday. The technician arrived on time and replaced the window in about 15 minutes.The communication from Milgard was excellent as was their follow-through. They stand behind their guarantee! Thank you!

TERRIBLE is all I can say about the customer service from Milgard. I paid extra for brown windows, did not know that the brown is just painted/coated on white windows frames. 3 of my window frames started to chip and peel after about 3 years. I called Milgard and they referred me to the CS website. I included pictures of the problem windows. After about 6 weeks they called me to make an appointment. After about another 6 weeks, a technician came out. He looked at the windows and told me, Ive never seen this before (LOL!!!). Of course he was not prepared to do anything. He took more pictures. One of the windows was a slider and the other 2 fixed. He told me they would replace the frame on the slider but on the fixed, they only thing they could do would be to give me a new window that I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE INSTALLED, or they would paint the damage with touch-up paint. About 3 months later, another technician came out. He replaced the frame on one window, but told me he was not prepared to do anything about the other two. He then told me a supervisor would call me to discuss the other windows. Well, that was January, now it is late March. I have NEVER heard back from Milgard. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND MILGARD TO ANYONE. Once they have sold you the window, the lifetime warranty is a joke.

My mother has Milgard windows that were installed about 20 years ago. One window has started to show condensation between the panes certain times of the day when the sun hits it. Milgard Simi Valley office claims this is not due to seal failure and will not replace it under their lifetime warranty. Researching dual pane seal failure Ive come to understand that any moisture between panes (even if not all the time) is due to seal failure. The Milgard service man claimed the desiccant between the window is no longer absorbing the moisture and that is not covered by their warranty. Based on my research the reason the desiccant is no longer absorbing the moisture is because the seal has failed. I think Milgard just doesnt want to honor their warranty. Shes gotten a good 20 years from that window but Im now wary of Milgards lifetime warranty claim.

We had moved all the furniture prior to their arrival, and they got to work on the removal process. If I could give 0 stars I would. We had a $3000 door put in and we were unable to close/lock the door without slamming it shut and grinding the lock. We put the door in to help my handicapped mother get in and out of the house thru a doorway that is wide enough for a wheelchair. When we called to have a technician come out to service the door so we could actually close it. We spoke with a VERY RUDE agent Deana who said that she wouldn’t send anyone just because a handicapped person can’t open it. Who tf says that!?!!?!!?Do not waste your money or your time - they do not care about their customers and don’t care about the quality of the products.

Inferior products and Service. I ordered 2 sliding doors and one window to assess their quality before replacing the rest of the house. 2 of the 3 came with a tiny hairline crack in the fixed panel. after 3 months of waiting for 1 retrofit window and 2 new construction sliding doors, I got 2 retrofit and one new construction... I had to pay extra for more modifications to fit the wrong products. the manager was so aggressive on the phone, practically yelling at me, said if we didnt report it in 5 days after delivery then the lifetime warranty is invalid. I answered: so the lifetime warranty is valid only for 5 days? .. WHAT A JOKE!!Another reason for the rest of the world to avoid American manufacturing which is getting progressively more inferior than the rest of the world... If you care for quality, there are a lot of other better alternative to Milgard.

I was very impressed by Milgards customer service from start to finish! We had moisture/particles that got between the double pane windows over many years of exposure to the elements of Southern California. I called Milgard to find out if the windows could be replaced because I couldnt get them clean. Milgard said they were still under warranty, since we are the original owners, even though they were about 20 years old! They asked me to take measurements of the window panels that were damaged, labeled each by room and then I emailed the info to the customer service department. They found my original order, matched up the windows, and made the window replacements--without even coming to check the window damage. We received a date for the new windows to be installed about a month ahead of time and waited about 10 weeks for them to be completed--pretty great since this is during Covid-19! They gave us a 2 hour window in which the installers would arrive. They arrived on time, wore masks, worked efficiently and with care. It took a little over an hour to replace 8 window panels! I cant thank Milgard enough for their amazing warranty, the fantastic customer service and for the great employees they have working for them--especially their installers--it was clear they knew what they were doing! We are very happy customers!

The guys in the who repair are great. The people in the office are not. Im a GC and use a lot of Milgard windows. Every time there is an issue. You need to schedule with people in the office. 99% of the time they will tell you to fix it your self. Adjustments are part of the install process. This last repair I had to call 3 times What a waste of my time. Finally one of the field guys called me. He said he needed to file the jamb down and said that a customer should never have to do that. He came out and fixed the problem.

UPDATE. I emailed them and they NEVER replied.DO NOT BUY! Horrible Customer service! I was ordering a window and patio door for my major remodel. I had replaced most of my windows several years ago with Milgard and have been very happy, so I choose to use Milgard for my new pieces. I had a very specific door configuration I wanted. The dealer who was ordering the Milgard products for me, called his rep to verify that we could get the patio door the way I wanted. We placed the order June 12, 2017 and my dealer even sent pictures of what I wanted, including one from their own catalog. I wanted French doors with opening sidelights. I wanted the main doors opening out and the sidelights opening in with screens. Knowing I was dealing with a custom order, I agreed to the exceedingly long lead time to get the unit. We received the door yesterday, and it was completely wrong. All of the doors opened out and the screens were on the inside that opened in. Upon speaking with Milgard, they stated that they dont make a door they way I wanted. How did not one single person in the process not realize this?!?! I have waited six weeks, my construction has been completely stalled waiting for this door. When my dealer spoke to the rep, he was told we have three options. 1) I can return the door for a refund, 2) I could keep the door and they would give me some money back, or 3) they could remake the door, but all the doors would open in. I told my dealer I might consider keeping the door as is, depending on how much they would offer me. He called his rep yesterday afternoon and several times today, with no reply. This was not an inexpensive item, and I cannot believe they have done nothing to make the situation right! Seriously?!?! They have delayed my construction and caused me to be without a kitchen for over a month because of their mistake. I have had so many extra costs not being able to cook, rescheduling deliveries, not having other things finished because we had to wait for the door. Unbelievable! This is the type of customer service you pride yourselves on? Im surprised you are still in business. DO NOT BUY these products. Thoroughly disgusted with the whole situation!

My new 4 panel sliding glass door had small defects in the glass in the 2 operable panels. I called Milgard and without even coming out to confirm that the defects were in between the panes, they set up an appointment to replace them. The technicians were great and easily replace the 2 defective panels. And then they installed the screens, which our contractor had not installed, and spent time adjusting them. Getting warranty work done on french doors (installed in 2012) - there was some difficulty finding the sales order and the imprinted digit code did not match the format?! Due to work being done previously, they were able to proceed - this hardware issue seems to re-surface after 4 or 5 years. Warranty work was done fine - some confusion re: details of fix that door was installed wrong - which is odd because, it was installed by Milgard. I liked the fact that they were able to come out to replace one of my windows which looked like hand smudges on the window (it was the gas between the window pain). The scheduling time was about 6 weeks out. With my first appointment, the person showed up but then said that he was given the wrong window size. I had to reschedule out another 6 weeks. Five stars for the technician, but no stars for the office customer service. The. Worst. Service. Ever. Rescheduled for warranty service 6 times (waiting for the 7th) since first appointment in January (after starting the process last November). Just so happens of course it was my glass that was broken in the shed yesterday when the tech went to check. How convenient for Milgard. Tons of excuses - not explanations. Apparently they have me over a barrel. How embarrassing for a company that has been in business since 1962.Aaaand, still waiting. 1 window made it to the warehouse and passed inspection (but I still dont have it). Two more windows produced apparently failed inspection, again. A 50 year old window manufacturing company cant produce a fairly simple, sealed two-pane window that doesnt regularly fail inspection. Its not even a window that opens! Taking bets on if the 2 missing windows ever make it past inspection, the first window will be lost or broken and theyll have to remake it.Anyone know who the board of directors are? They need to know this company is messed up. Multiply my experience by thousands.

I notified my installer and he directed me to Milgard. I notified them and it was almost a two-month wait to have the window replaced. Bought a beautiful patio french door in Dec. 2020. One week after install the door stopped locking. It took one and a half months to get the repair person out. In the meantime the lock started working again. The repairman was thoughtful and polite. He checked out the door even though it was working. He even told me how to repair my other sliding screen door that wasnt working. A week after the repair visit the lock stopped working again. Now the repairman was great. The door lock is unacceptable. Having to wait 6 weeks to see the repairman is horrible. Will I have to wait another month and a half to see the repairman again. Filled out the service request online, received an email to verify the request and eligibility (the windows were installed about 26 years ago), a technician came out to verify measurements and fill the paperwork for the request and final technician arrived and replaced the windows. Contractor that installed my patio door did not make the proper wheel adjustment for the screen door. I called in the problem, and a representative was sent out within a week. He immediately identified the problem, which was originally set up to replace the screen door with a new one. He made the proper adjustments, sprayed the tracks with silicone and we were back in business, without having to replace the door.

More than half our windows are Milgard (now with their new models all could be). The repair was fairly easy to request (we waited till quite a few had fogged between the glass) and no effort or cost after that. All done in a half day and a bit storm tested the install - no leaks - no new fogging. Great windows!

We purchased our Milgard windows in 2006. Since then we have had two service calls. The latest was 21 Sep 21 when the air gap failed on two windows. The technician performed the replacements in less than a half hour. The only issue was the length of time taken to obtain the service.

Once the technician arrived, the service was great. The window was repaired in 3 minutes. However, I had to be a very squeaky wheel in order to even get service. I posted the service repair twice (Sept 8 & 17) with NO response from Milgard. I called 3 times, the first time I was placed in a call back queue but did not receive a call back. The second time I called, I was asked for the same information that I had posted on the online service request twice before.When I finally connected with service repair appointments, I was given a Nov 5 repair date, and when I complained, I was then given Oct 29. I then asked for a supervisor. I was placed on hold for close to 10 minutes, and then was given an appointment with a technician that was luckily in my neighborhood. Within 30 minutes, a technician arrived and the window was repaired. I realized that same day service is unheard of, so I will not expect this type of situation again. I called back and thanked Milgard for expediting the repair.I have never had a problem with service for window repairs prior to this. The service representative said that there was a 6 week waiting list for repairs. That is not good customer service. If window/door repairs are backlogged for that long, train and hire some more technicians.I still love my windows and have no regrets working with Milgard. This is probably an anomaly. My rating is for the way my service request was handled. It has no bearing on the quality of the windows, nor the service once it was performed.

Bought 18 windows from Milgard dealer about 8 years ago, double pane. 10 of them started to have staint inside, cloudy look. yes, they honored their lifetime warranty. they came and spend 2.5 hours for 2 tech to replace it . no questions to ask, came on time, friendly staffs and above all they provided excellent services

Today was a 40 minute wait on the phone just to talk to a rep. It seems to us that their Lifetime Warranty really means it can take a life time to get repairs!

Buying Milgard windows has been one of the best home improvement decisions I have made. As any purchase of multiple items, something goes wrong but when you buy something with a life-time warranty it matters. I have had replacements for a couple of windows that lost integrity but it was fast and no questions asked. That is nice. I wish I would have purchased the more expensive product.

I have installed Milgard windows thought out my entire house. Our large front room window’s seal became compromised and moisture starting getting into the window. This window encasement has a crank out window on each end with grids internal to the windows. I called them up and they made an appointment with me 2 months out to replace it. When they installed the window, we noticed that the internal window grids did not line up with the rest of the window. They apologized and told us their customer support would call, they did not. Therefore, I had to call them. I asked for an entirely new window so everything would match and they said no and it would be 2 more months to get the replacement. I asked for something earlier and they said no. 2 Months later (no 4 Months totals) the new window is installed and they miserably made the same mistake and the window is wrong again. The tech said they will call me……. So here I am again…I’m so done with Milgard Customer service because they are the worst.

The quality of the windows are great and we are enjoying them. However, there was a problem with the track which the installers should have seen and reported but they didnt. We had to wait almost one month to get a repair person to fix it. Overall, we are very pleased.

Terrible Customer service!!! Scheduling for repairs (Faulty windows) is almost impossible. By the time they come out again there are more faulty windows to repair. its a never ending cycle.We have to schedule about 2 or 3 months in advance to get an appointment. When the crew arrives they never have all the windows that were reported to them to finish the job. This has happened a few times.The job never gets finished. We just had a window fall out today from a repair from 6 days ago. Thank God no one was hurt. I call and leave messages and no response and no call backs.They promised to come back again after this review and correct everything. Well guess what happened again, you guessed it, they brought the wrong windows and blamed it on the office staff again. always something goes wrong from milgard. i Recommend not using milgard windows

During the installation process, one of my windows got scrathed up, I called my Vendor and they put in a work order with Milgard. A rep from Milgard contacted me the next day and told me they would set up for a Contractor to come out and pain the window fully. They scheduled this within the same week and came out and were done by mid day. It looks great.

Hector was the installer for a broken window repair. I was notified 2 days in advance that he would be my installer, and would show up between the hours of 8:00 -10:00 a.m.. On the day of the scheduled install, Hector called me at 7:45 to let me know he would arrive to my house in 15 min. Hector arrived to my house promptly at 8:00, assessed the repair, and installed the new glass in about 30 min leaving zero mess. He also fixed/adjusted one of my french doors that was not closing properly. I am 110% satisfied with the service received and would hope that others have Hector as their installer.
