This has been my go to store from past 3 years. There are great camera gear options, helpful gadgets. Their photo printing and the quality is really great, especially metallic prints. James and Leah both are very friendly, informative. It has always been a good customer experience with them. I would defiantly recommend this to my friends.

Great service. Great staff. Knowledgeable and very helpful!! I dropped my Nikon D810 while packing for eclipse trip. It went down lens first, breaking the lens off body. Unusable. After returning from trip, I took it in to Mikes. Its close to 10 years old but they said they will check it out. I just picked it up! Its in great working condition. Im thrilled!!! Had to have photos reprinted because the first time they were very dark and had a blue tint, at first the staff were accommodating. Went back today for the reprints and the photos were still not good. The girl told me some nonsense excuse and wouldn’t offer to try to fix the problem. She wouldn’t even pay attention to me when I was trying to explain the color issues. Very disappointing, but in most cases these days. No one cares enough about customer service or delivering a good product. I won’t be going to Mikes Camera again.

Horrible value for customer.. came in for a 2X2 passport photo but with sharp corner and staff told me that it will cost $35 for that. If i had got rounded corner it would have been $15.. any photo when printed would have sharp corner unless you cut it with a round corner but their folks could not even understand this and kept saying we just work here, sorry we wont reduce from $35. Fedex did the same with $21 (including digital copy). Mike charge was $40 for 2 photos with a digital copy.. will never come here where folks who work don’t even care for their customer and want to rip them off..

We just left this establishment and we could not wait to get out of here. My fiancé brought us here for passport photos. Upon entering, all we got were awkward stares. I’d love to say it was the most uncomfortable experience ever, but it’s not. I’m starting to get used to this nonverbal rejection here in Dublin. Anyway, we walk in… the man behind the counter to the left stopped mid conversation and just stared. There were about 3 people at a table in the back right corner that all looked up from their computers and said NOTHING!!! I thought they were customers. There was a woman behind the back counter, that would be the woman to take our passport photo, that avoided eye contact up until my fiancé said why we were even here. I mean, WOW!!! No “welcome in.. how can we help you” no simple “hey” “hello”… NOTHING!!! Just BAD UNWELCOME ENERGY!!!! No one said anything or lightened up on the tension until we said something AND PAID!! I’d like to state the obvious reasons for this type of treatment but it’s 2024… WE KNOW!!! Needless to say, not another dime will be spent here.

My first time visiting Mikes Camera made me a lifelong customer! James helped me out with a camera for my wife, and we settled on a Nikon D800. James was well-versed in cameras and was able to help me understand how the Nikon worked and how to navigate the settings. I didnt immediately purchase, but said that I was going to make some calls (the camera wasnt going to be for me, but for my wife) before settling on the purchase. I came back and the owner of the store / the manager gave me a fat discount on everything (camera, case, strap, SD card, and lens) because I simply came back! Afterwards, James took some practice shots with the camera to show me the difference in settings, etc. I learned a lot from an hour in a camera store. The experience was awesome, and they were very knowledgeable. Im definitely going to return for future camera repairs or other purchases. I highly recommend!

Very rude of the lady taking the passport photo of my baby girl to say she cant spend another 30 minutes to keep taking photo of her. It would not even take her more than 2 minutes. We came to this store because we heard nice things about it. Another reason we came to this store because we wanted the photo to be up to our expectations. Anyways, I paid for the photo but did not get what I wanted.

Didnt even know we had a nice camera shop in the Tri Valley... We were referred there by the High School photo teacher. Great experience!!! -thanks to the staff there, especially Reza who really helped educate us and was thrilled to see a young, new photographer (my daughter). I really enjoyed see them interact and even share some squirrel photos (they both had). He was no pressure sales. They also had an impressive selection of drones.

Really impressed by the service of this place and the knowledgeable staff. I ended up buying the lenses online, as they were not able to match the prices. But they were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me narrow down the right lens for wildlife photography. I only wish the management helped the sales agent by matching online prices. After having been directed to this location by Heather of the Pleasant Hill location (outstanding service by her, by the way!) to purchase a new lens for our newly acquired Sony a7iii, we were greeted warmly by the stores manager, Andy. Andy was able to get us going in the right direction in regards to lens choice, and even went the extra mile and provided a couple of tips on how to use the camera and get the best picture out of it, as well as menu management.I can say without hesitation that when it comes to great service and expertise, Mikes Camera comes first! Mikes camera is a great camera shop tucked away in Dublin. The store has a pretty lively atmosphere and great customer service. I am generally new to photography so I cant quite tell you how reasonable the prices are, but they were low enough to where I was satisfied. The one con is how expensive it is to develop film. To develop and print a single 24 exposure roll of 35mm it came out a whopping $20! I am aware that the price of developing film has developed overtime (about $10 with inflation taken into account,) its still a hefty price to pay. I may try purchasing their club membership ($25 up front then $20 per year) which lowers the price to around $15, a more manageable price. Overall the store is well maintained, has good customer service, and is one of the few remaining places that still developes film. I would definitely recommend that you check it out yourself!

They will take the time to listen to you, so be sure to share your questions and let them know what you don’t know, and what you want to learn. I have been working on a project for my mothers 70th birthday and Mikes camera and the staff there, particularly The manager Andy and another person Avery have been amazing. Their customer service is something rare and they have helped me every step of the way. My pictures, posters and larger prints have all turned out beautiful and when I had an issue (that very well may have been user error) Andy sat with me and fixed/cropped over 400 pictures for over an hour to try to help. I could not be more impressed and will probably never go anywhere else for pictures, calendars, printing projects again!

I was really excited to find a local camera store that provided good relatable experience in the area of photography. When I purchased my camera and gear from Mikes, the staff were helpful and knowledgeable for the most part. I found what I wanted to know from someone in the store at least. I trusted them so much so that I ended up spending a lot more money than I expected to when I went there because I believed in the product and was assured that I would be taken care of via the warrantee that I purchased with the camera and gear. However, I just recently discovered that my brand new Sony camera is defective upon purchase. The mic jack is not working. So, I contacted Sony and they concluded that I send it in to be repaired. (I send in my brand new camera to be taken apart and serviced for something that should have been working in the first place.) So, I contacted Mikes. Certainly they would understand and help. Finally, after talking with someone that could actually answer my questions, I was told that the defective camera that I bought brand new from them would have to be sent in and taken apart to be repaired. I simply wanted a camera to be used this summer and beyond, and now I have to send it in to be repaired...something that should not have been a problem in the first place. I would think that any company dealing with high level gear ought to understand and have in place a provision for selling defective gear. If it is a manufacturers issue that they sell, they should be the one to make it right, not the customer. I pay $1000 dollars for a camera from the experts who sell quality gear, and I expect to get what I pay for. Not have to ride the warrantee circus train to actually get what I paid for. I am disappointed. I will probably not be back. Might just as well stick with Best Buy.Update: I am very grateful for Mike’s Camera manager, Andy reaching out to me. I as I said above, I enjoyed my experience at the shop and the help shopping was great. The experience that I first received over the phone was unfortunate, but I am grateful for Andy following up with me to make sure the service I should have received was delivered. Andy went above and beyond my expectations in taking care of the issue at hand. I am pleased to update my previous rating to five stars.

After purchasing they took the time with me making sure I was comfortable with the features of the camera and every time I go back they are more than willing to take the time to answer additional questions (I drop in about once a month.)I have seen a review or two that mentions poor customer service and just want to let you know that has never been my experience there... This is really one of the few places to go to for knowledgeable service. They have a great selection of camera accessories, lenses, cameras, photo assistance on computers, etc. They even have a guy who can talk to you in sign language and he was helping a deaf customer while I was there, that was impressive. The prices are retail for most stuff. Altho there was a lot on sale or discounted. While you may pay 10-15% more, its worth it if you have a warranty issue. If you buy online to save 20 bucks, and that lense is bad, u have to hassle with shipping it back and waiting weeks to get a credit or a replacement. Spend the extra couple bucks and support the local business instead of Amazon.

Fabulous customer service! I had preordered the new Nikon Z6 and was leaving town for Thanksgiving early in the morning on the day the cameras were to arrive in the store. Andy suggested that they could overnight the camera (at no charge to me) to my destination so that I would be able to take photos while I was with family. He said it would probably arrive before I did, and he was right! I was amazed that they would go to such lengths for me. This kind of customer service would not have happened if I had bought the camera from a big online camera store. Mike’s Camera really works hard to have satisfied customers!

If you are looking to by any camera equipment this is the place to go and get your hands on it first. The customer service staff here are very knowledgeable of all the gear they have and whats coming up. Just had to update this review because of some awesome customer service I had experienced with Mikes Camera in Dublin, California. I had a very important wedding shoot on Sunday, Saturday I went in after finding some issues with one of my Nikon cameras that could not be fixed right away. They hooked me up with a new rental and made sure I was comfortable with the camera settings and its capabilities before leaving the store. This helped me to get some great shots and video I would have missed out on. Go see Reza Toghani and the other customer service staff there at Mikes extremely knowledgeable and if they dont know they will get the answers for you.

BOB IS THE BEST! ...pretty much sums up my review. Bob is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to photography. This man is truly passionate about photography and stays up to do date on everything thats camera/ photography related. He is extremely kind, patient, knowledgeable, and hes not your typical salesperson trying to sell you the most expensive equipment that you can buy. In fact I wanted a camera that was twice the price of the one that he ended up selling me on.He truly cares about your needs as a photographer and tries to pair you with the perfect equipment to get the job done. After my initial one hour conversation with Bob and his recommendation of a camera that I knew nothing about, I told him that I would go do my research and come back when Im convinced that that was the camera for me. I went home, did my research and low and behold everything he had told me was spot on. The camera that he had suggested that was half the price of the Canon I originally wanted got even better reviews. I went back the following day and bought everything I needed to get me started on my new photography journey.Bob is a real great guy! He is a true asset to Mikes Cameras and literally one of those special people that you just want to keep in constant communication with no matter where he works. They are usually busy with clients, patiently explaining the features of different cameras, I had to take better shots and all kinds of other technical issues. My father bought a camera here which was a little heavy and it was hurting his chest because of his open heart surgery and it had many features that he did not need. So we had to return the camera and Andy helped us out. Andy was a champ very fast nice and helpful with everything. Mikes Camera has by far been the most helpful place for photography in the area, and my family has been familiar with their service for a couple years now.Today, I went into Mikes Camera looking to purchase a new Sony mirrorless camera because my previous one has been in bad shape and needing replacement. Upon walking into the store, customer service was immediately available to guide me toward exactly what I needed. Reza and Andy were incredibly helpful, having experience with the Sony cameras I was particularly interested in—even showing me the stunning photos theyve taken with one the models I was considering. They listed numerous and crucial differences between different camera models, leading me toward a choice I am extremely happy with. I recently purchased a new camera from the Mikes Camera location in Dublin. I had searched online for the camera I intended to buy, but wanted to handle it before I purchased it. I could have saved a bit had I purchased it online and not had to pay sales tax; however, the staff at Mikes were outstanding. Also, while they are a chain of camera stores, they are not a big box stores, and it feels like Im in a small locally owned shop. One of the few places left in the tri-valley (Pleasanton - Dublin - Livermore) that is a legitimate camera shop. The employees are knowledgeable and really helpful. These guys are on commission though, and if youre not used to pushy sales people, try Best Buy. I enjoy speaking to these guys and picking their brains on certain camera questions. This boutique has a nice selection, but it is pretty small so you might not find what you are looking for. For example, I went in looking for a camera strap made by Peak Design (headquartered in San Francisco), and they didnt have it. Although it may be an online only item. I was pleasantly surprised to find all the film and development items in stock. Definitely check it out for your local photography needs.

I went into this store looking for a replacement mount for my tripod which I had lost. When I took some possible replacements up to the counter to ask if any of these would work, the associate (Ven) asked what the brand was.
