I purchased the chocolate cake with pink buttercream frosting the other day. The small cake was about $55. I cut up half the cake to serve to four guests and nobody wanted to eat it because the cake and frosting were so dry and very sweet. It seemed the cake was not fresh. Unfortunately won’t be coming back.

This is such a small little shop. We were happy to have found it though! It has very unique desserts and had I been in Oakland I would have tried more because they looked delicious. I had chocolate cookies called Sables and they were so light, and buttery! They were like a chocolate short bread cookies! So so yummy! Will be back when I make my next trip to Oakland for sure!

Cute little bakery that also has some imported and housemade confections. If you have never been before, it is on the first floor to the right of the bank. The sign on the building says batch pastries and only the one hanging from the front glass under the awning references miette. If you want to ensure that they will have the cake that you want, be sure to order online 48 hours before. Even early on a weekend morning, the cake selection is slim and they had already sold out of several flavors.

I really like the Dulce de Leche Macaroon. They are delicious and not too sweet, just the right sweetness. The hazelnut one is also good. The bad thing is the hours of operation. It is hard to get them because they are only open 11am-3pm M-F so i would only able to get them if i was off work.

Cupcakes are not very good. Cake part is dry, frosting is too hard. And they were expensive and small. The service was fine.

Miette is a confectionery heaven. I true candy shop with delicious cakes, tarts, cookies, and confections. And they had samples of their delish Gingerbread. Everyone who works at Miette is so sweet and so helpful. Their cupcakes with Italian meringue are always so delicious. And I wish I had more celebrations in my life so I had more excuses to get their cakes!

I went crazy and bought $30 in cookies. I had to have the gingersnaps, the graham cracker cookies, and the lavender & burnt butter shortbread cookies. I love cookies where you eat them and can taste all the whole non-processed ingredients. I tasted butter, fresh ginger, lavender, and sugar. No preservative or flavor enhancers as a bitter aftertaste. I am going in on the cakes next time I visit.

This place is as amazing as the owner, which I had the pleasure of meeting. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you. The cupcakes are awesome!

A dry carrot cake. Not even sure carrots or their remnants appeared - great presentation the cake looked especially delicious

Used to live Miette. Always bought items every week at the Ferry Building when I worked in SF. They were always high priced but worth it. No longer. I was very disappointed in the items I purchased from the Oakland location. Macarons were doughy with no flavor. No crisp shell at all, just soft, doughy mush. They didnt have any lemon tartlets and the Scharffenberger chocolate ones were meh. Such a shame to see the quality slide so badly.
