I had the pleasure of working with Char Michaels as my agent during one of the toughest periods of real estate markets for buyers, 2021 - 2022. When we first met, Char was very quick to get a sense of exactly what I was looking for in a new property. She was very prompt in providing me with updates when anything was listed, or soon to be listed, that fit my criteria. She was always very friendly, thorough and patient with every step of the process. Because of the tough market, we worked together for just over a year, and she maintained a high level of professionalism, engagement and connection throughout our time together. Once we found the right house for me, Char was an expert with navigating all aspects of the purchase from start to finish. I am very grateful for the professional residential home sales work done by Brittany Ferro and Char Michaels of Keller Williams. “Escrow has closed” is only gauge for a real estate transaction. I’m happy to say Char Michaels’ team at Michael Ferro Wynn got us to close quickly and with a smile. From proposal to close Char took me through the process in a respectful and holistic manner. My mother passed last year leaving her condominium, which she called home for 10+ years, to me. It was an emotional time.Char’s team met with me armed with a thorough market analysis and her team. We discussed her marketing approach and set out, as all sellers do, to realize the full value, which entailed painting, carpeting, landscaping, and all the little details to bring the place up to the standards I want when purchasing a home. Char took care of all the contractor scheduling and kept me informed. Char took care of all of it from proposal to completion brining me along every step of the way. Char helped us buy our first house and we couldnt have had a better realtor on our home buying team! It has been a few months since we worked together and looking back at all the critical decisions with the benefit of hindsight we wouldnt have done anything differently. My experience in working with Char was exceptional. I was moving from out of town and she was able to keep me up to date and clued into the local market in Ojai, and kept her eyes open for opportunities. She clearly understood what I was looking for, so there wasnt any wasted time on alternative properties. And once we found and identified the house I wanted, she was able to guide my offer and work very well with the sellers agent to ensure that the process was smooth. Eight years ago Char represented the seller when we bought our house. She was a tough nut to crack on the other side of the table. So, we figured who better to represent us than her. Char Michaels is a wonderful realtor to work with. She advised me on preparing the house for sale and arranged for the photographer, house, termite and septic tank inspectors. All of the paperwork was handled efficiently and professionally. All I had to do was sort through things and pack and she even recommended people to help with that. My wife and I found Char Michaels while looking at listings in Ojai Ca. We came upon one of her listings on Trulia and after we initially spoke to her, we knew we were in good hands.The initial property we found was one of her listings which she was able to set up an onsite visit within days. Prior to our first visit, Char recommended a second property she thought we would like to see as well. Ironically, we passed on the first property and ended up buying the second property that Char recommended we see. The property fit our needs and Char was able to get us under contract within days.My wife and I were extremely pleased with the purchase/closing process. Char Williams has been our realtor for three transactions (two purchasing, one selling) and has always gone well beyond the call of duty. She is able to intuit buyers’ and sellers’ concerns and is conscientious, patient, talented, knowledgable and well-connected. Easy to reach, easy to work with, and yet a strong negotiator who constantly keeps her clients’ best interests in mind.First, as buyers, she got to know us and our taste in about two sessions of looking. She was able to find unique properties that fit our style and budget. She let us make our own decisions and come to our own conclusions, never pushed anything, and was patient with our search, but both times we bought, we all said “Ahh, this is it!”, nearly simultaneously. The properties we bought with her brought us joy.Char was also extremely on top of research, paperwork, inspections, and all the details that go into buying a home. She thoroughly read everything that came her way and gave us a verbal summary before we dove in on our own. She was able to answer every question, and easily identified and fixed any potential problems well before they became major.As sellers, she helped us look at direct comps, as well as upgraded properties in the neighborhood, in case we wanted to only upgrade and not sell (and remember, this would not have been a commission for her in that case). As a real estate investor and developer, I go back over 20 years with the Michaels personally and profesionally, buying and selling more properties in Ojai than I can remember.
