Best winery and tasting room...Oh how we love Medlock Ames. It all started a couple years ago over some amazing wines and some very hospitable wine educators. We were smitten that day and have been ever since. Both of their properties are stunning - the feel of the property AND the staff. The staff is special because once you enter their property, you immediately feel the warmth. I can say now after being a member for two years, we look at the staff at Medlock Ames as family. Theyre all so lovely!So then we decided to get married... and it didnt take much for us to decide on where because of all this. Peter helped us along the way, and we are so thankful for his help and kindness along the way! We chose Medlock Ames Tasting Room, and it was everything we had hoped for. Shirley and Rex worked the event, and we were thrilled they were there to help out. The flow of this property goes without saying - the grove of olive trees is breathtaking (ceremony), the crushed granite area (dining) and the perfect size of the back patio (dancing).. oh and the speakeasy for the cocktail hour and then more mingling in the tasting room.Everyone had the best time and Ill be forever grateful! Visit Medlock Ames Tasting Room or Bell Mountain the next time youre in town - you will not be disappointed at all. Oh and the wines are beyond amazing too!

What a beautiful experience! The garden was a perfect setting for this tasting, and the wines were amazing. They were very accommodating with our unexpected delays. I would highly recommend!!

July 2021 five is hit wine country and Medlock Ames was our first stop! Had a nice tasting, outside in a little grove area, very good time!

Small and chic tasting room. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the wine is excellent. 15 dollar tasting with 5 dollar pairing of local cheeses, I recommend it. Tasting is free with two bottle purchase, get the estate red while its available.

I’m not sure it’s even possible to have a better wine tour than this place offers. Not only the tour but the quality of the wine and the time they took with our small group to go over everything was exceptional. If you are looking for some huge production facility with props and a massive tour of operations then don’t bother. But the drive out is worth it alone.

We enjoyed an absolutely spectacular afternoon of wine tasting. Not only was the experience absolutely lovely, but the wines were superb. Perfect, perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon. Eric is a wonderful and knowledgeable host and clearly goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a wonderful time.

Had a great experience at Medlock Ames this past summer at one of their summer concert events. It was a sunday night and the perfect way to finish off the weekend! Drinks and cocktails being served at the bar and the grill going out back with delicious food. Plus you are in the heart of the countryside so the views all around are amazing.

One and DoneDrove to M-As from Santa Rosa this evening (about a 35 min. drive). Went to their Backyard Nights to have a glass of wine, some food truck tacos and hear the band.Got my glass of rose for $20, ordered my tacos, and as I waited in 85 degree weather for my food, I killed the Rose before the tacos came and went to the tasting room to buy another one to have with my dinner. Sorry we only sell bottles. I said Im here alone and just want another glass to have with dinner. I wasnt interested in a bottle because Ill drink the entire bottle and I know better. Just want 1 glass. She said sorry and stared at me. I left my glass in the tasting room and said I guess Im having water. I kinda hoped someone would catch up to me and say sorry, heres a glass of .... but nope. I ate my tacos with wonderful water and said this was a waste of time and drove 35 minutes back to SR.Why 1 star, because its about the customer experience. Either its good or its bad. I left pissed and it doesnt matter why. You have a customer who is alone and doesnt want an entire bottle of wine, you find an accommodation other than sorry. They could have made an exception, they could have made an exception and sold a glass, offered me a different beverage like a Crystal Geyser, comp me a Rose (I did pay $20). but the answer was... sorry, sit outside and drink water. Disappointing

Absolutely love this winery! Been a wine club member since 2016 and can’t say enough about this winery. They make the best sauvignon blanc I’ve never had! Always amazing reds and the both the tasting room and the estate are gorgeous. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They treat us special every time I visit! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a winery in Alexander Valley. You’ll absolutely going to love it!

Arrived at 3:30, one hour before closing time with my daughter on Mothers Day after a lovely lunch at Catellis. Thought a little taste on our way home would be a nice treat. Unfortunately we were met outside by a gentleman and told the last tasting is at 3 and that we should check the website. Apparently reservations are required. We felt very unwelcome. There were no other patrons there so it would have been nice if he had offered to offered to give us a reservation on the spotS

We went on the tour with Dan! The winery was gorgeous and I learned so much. The grounds are beautiful and they have clearly thought carefully about what they want their wines and the experience to be like. After the tour, we came back to a beautiful set table. The wines were so wonderful, may aunt joined her first wine club after years of wine tasting. We also took home so olive oil and citrus marmalade!

This is one of our favorite tasting rooms. The quality of the wine is superb, and we love the staff. Chelsea (team member) is a gem, both knowledgeable and approachable. Try the rose or the Kates and Bs blend, named for the wives of the owners. Wonderful food pairings, especially the house-made marmalade 😁

My friend Cathy and I came here as part of a Silver Service tour (which we also very highly recommend) in May and had an excellent experience The wines were great! Our server did a nice job with some wine and cheeses and nice descriptions of each including the winemakers preferences for little 1% touches of different blending wines. We bought a case there and are looking forward to buying more.

Pretty location, nice little garden. The wine pours were minimal, it was actually embarrassing. Done plenty of wine tastings in California and Washington and those were tiny Washington pours. We tried buying a glass of wine or a bottle to have while there and were told we couldnt. Even though there was a table down from us sharing a bottle. Didnt learn anything about the wine or winery itself. Plenty of other places where youll get more value. Wouldnt come back.

Beautiful tasting room and grounds. We actually decided to spend a relaxing afternoon here and loved every minute of it. The rose and Sauvignon Blanc were DELICIOUS. All of the vintages were wonderful and the cheese pairings were perfect! (The homemade marmalade is not to be missed!) staff were so nice it felt like spending an afternoon with friends. And to top it off the estate is 100% organic and sustainable and utilizes solar energy. Very impressed, we will be back.

Chelsea in the tasting room was amazing and signed us up for a tour at their vineyards. There, Alexa made us feel truly immersed in the farming and making of wine. We have been to the area many times and this was the most personable place we have been. Also, the wine was delicious. Make sure you stop here during your time in Alexander Valley.

If you want an amazing Sonoma County experience, call ahead & arrange to go to the Medlock-Ames Ranch to actually see the vineyard & facilities and learn about the history of the company. The ranch is a fun drive to get there, its absolutely gorgeous, and you will be blown away by the wine pairing tastings. It really is an amazing experience that you cant get just anywhere. Mollie set us up with our tour & Isabella was a great tour guide. They have a variety of delicious wines, jams & olive oils.

Medlock Ames is both a great land steward, a great host, and an incredible wine maker. Spending time at both the tasting room and the vineyard is a treat for the senses. This weekend we went to the tasting room for the oyster feast.bot raw and barbeque oysters to enjoy with the wonderful wines! It was pouring rain and the room was full of happy patrons. Also enjoying other nibbles with the pourings. The 2016 savion blanc, and rose were perfect with the raw oysters. The 2013 can great with the barbeque oysters!

We just left Medlock Ames. Had an AMAZING time. Austin at the bar was incredible. I normally am not a Chardonnay girl but theirs was the BEST I’ve ever had! So much fun- highly recommend! ❤️

Beautiful property! We got to visit the actual property rather than the tasting room as our bus driver had a relationship with the winery.The tour was the typical look at our grapes, check out our cave deal, it definitely did not disappoint, though if youve seen one, youve seen them all.The sauvignon blanc is outstanding, and I typically hate sauv blanc. The other wines were good, but I dont think they stood out to me like the sauv blanc.I would definitely go back!

This was one of the best corporate dining, excursion experiences we have ever had. Jim (winery President) and Ames (winery cofounder and winemaker) were a dream to work with. They met us at the winery when we arrived then Ames took us on a tour of the vineyard, winemaking facility, and garden as well as talked us through how it all started. It was such a genuine touch to have the winemaker meet us. Jim was super transparent leading up to the event in regards to the menu, headcount, agenda for the evening, ect. He even sat with us at dinner to answer questions and tell us about the wine we were enjoying with the course. I cannot wait to return and it is all thanks to Ames and Jim!
