Have bought several mattresses here over the years. The store never disappoints. I came in last week and laid on a bunch of mattresses. I realized Im back to liking firm mattresses, and I picked one. Russell provided a quote, but didnt finalize the purchase until the following week. It was quick, they sent me a link via text and Im getting my bed in a few days.

Fantastic experience. Cheryl did a great job supporting me through a very important decision given the financial investment. She owns the same mattress she was encouraging me to buy, so her personal experience was very helpful. She highlighted many of the features unique to this product, features important to someone of my advanced age. ☺️ She also gave me the privacy needed to spend time considering the 3 options I was looking at. Lastly, she was welcoming, very friendly, funny, not pushy as sales associates can be, and I was more than pleased with the overall experience.

The salesperson was absolutely wonderful. After asking me what I was looking for and me telling her my challenges which are a bad back, knees issue with pressure points in my current bed. She showed me two wonderful beds one of which I chose. She was kind thoughtful, listened to me then worked with me to get a deal that I could afford.Thank you Cheryl at the Emeryville store.The delivery done by Deliver more distribution center. I am disabled and I did not have to lift a finger. They were on time they were courteous and they were quick. They were in and out in about a half installing not only my mattress but an adjustable frame inside of my California King frame. They took my mattress my box springs and the slats that were no longer needed in my king size frame which I really appreciate it. I didnt have to lift a finger. Thank you for the two delivery men.

Excellent experience through the whole process. April helped me through a mattress fitting and was very knowledgeable, helpful, & transparent. She helped me find the perfect mattress for my back issues (scoliosis, spondylolisthesis) and I felt so much relief after laying in the mattresses she showed me. She was patient, attentive, & friendly, but also gave us space to think things through on our own. Within an hour or so, both my friend & I had bought new beds at excellent prices thanks to some current deals. My bed was delivered the next day & the delivery people were great as well.

I went in to the Emeryville location just to test the different types of mattresses and determine what I ultimately wanted, but planned to go home and compare different companies, features, prices, etc. Upon walking in, I was greeted by Russ who immediately inquired what I was looking for and directed me to a starting point. Russ asked how I slept and instructed me to test the mattresses I was considering in those positions. It might me obvious but I was kinda in a rush and was not doing that before. Russ was well versed on all his products. He was a pleasure to talk with and learn from. I didn’t feel any pressure or like he was leading toward any specific product, just helping me determine what I liked and would be good for my sleep habits. I decide to purchase a Purple and adjustable frame and was ready to handle the business but Russ wouldn’t let me just rush out, he encouraged me to test each of the adjustable frame options b/c they have VERY different remotes and capabilities. I appreciate that he took the time to stress the importance of experiencing them, rather than me picking off the chart. Thank you Russ. I cannot wait to receive my new wonderful mattress and fancy frame!

I had visited three times before I purchased my mattress during the tail end of the mattress sale period. I thought I knew what I wanted from the start but each day, as I tried one mattress after the other, even ones I thought I’d never be interested in, I pivoted to a new comfort level or construction blend. And each day, I was helped by the same person, Russ. Even when he was the only sales staff on the floor, I could see that he gave everyone space and a chance to ask questions when he came around. For every question I asked, I also got closer to the bed I wanted.It was the first time I bought a mattress so I’m glad I took the investment seriously enough to be patient with my decision making. I had the best customer service experience with April. She immediately greeted me, from the back of the store. She explained the difference in the mattresses that were in my budget. After picking a mattress I go on to ask about needing a pillow, because I tend to sleep on my arm and my shoulders are always hurting. April takes me to a bed that has an adjustable base. She explained that an adjustable base takes the stress off of your shoulders. She brought me long term value instead of just selling me a new mattress. I went in twice, a few weeks apart, because I wanted to consult with my husband before buying and he wasn’t able to come along. Both experiences were excellent! The first time, I worked with Estrella, who was friendly, helpful; and informative without being pushy. She encouraged me to come back but didn’t guilt trip me or press the issue when I said I wasn’t ready to buy. During my second visit I met April, who was amazing. Also very friendly, helpful, informative, non-pushy, and personable. Both gave me honest opinions, and even pointed out if they thought a lower-priced model suited my sleep needs better. They explained all promotions, but didn’t push to upsell anything in an uncomfortable way. I felt confident and excited once I made my decision and purchase. I should also note that in this Covid-era, they are taking necessary precautions with masks and distance, as well as spray sanitizing mattresses/pillows between trials, and laying down disposable liners for guests to use. Would definitely recommend this store.

I have had an incredibly horrible experience not only with this location but with Mattress Firm as a whole and will not be purchasing from them again, here’s why:In a nutshell, I moved into a new place and went to purchase a new mattress from Mattress Firm; my credit card was charge twice for the purchase (a very large amount) that the sales person Boris ensured me did not happen. Irregardless of how much the mattress was, any issues with one’s money especially while pay insane moving costs is super inconvenient. Once the double charge posted to my account, I went back to the store to inquire about the refund process, of which the sales person April was unsure of what happened, said she would reach out to corporate and asked me if I could come back or if she could call me because “she had other customers in the store.” I’m a customer too right? I filed a dispute with my bank and received the money back.Additionally, that same night I inquired about Mattress Firm’s price match policy because I found my same mattress on another website for $500 cheaper. My gut told me to just cancel my order and purchase from the other site but it was a much longer wait for the mattress from the cheaper site. I got the run around about the price match policy which they did not honor but is clearly stated on their website. Instead I downgraded my mattress to the cheaper but similar option and was given a refund for over $500. After two weeks, I still have not received the refund. The only way you can contact corporate is to send and email or talk to a bot via the chat function which is a joke. I reached out to corporate via email and they sent me back to the store to ask the sales person where the refund is, huh? How does corporate not reach out and try to solve this issue immediately?? I emailed back and asked corporate to escalate the situation, but of course I have not heard back. I later spoke to a different sales person who informed me that he has heard this from many customers and it reaffirmed what I have been dealing with.So basically no one knows where the refund is, I have called and emailed so many people and literally the money disappeared into thin air.So I’ve had to file yet another dispute with my credit card to try and get my refund back.I will never purchase from Mattress Firm again, this entire process has been incredibly stressful and frustrating, so much so that if the mattress doesn’t sleep well or is defective I will simply just throw it away to avoid dealing with them again. I’m super disappointed because my first experience with them 3 years ago was seamless. I had no idea Charmain would help me resolve my bed issue so quickly. She was knowledgeable of the different bed styles that would fit my sleeping habits and gave me three great options. The whole time she was personable, pleasant, answered all my questions and was a joy to be around. Because of this, I didnt even feel like i needed to look at other stores for additional options. I found a bed that I think will work out nicely for me and I cant wait for it to be delivered. Charmains help is what really got me to purchase the bed so quickly and Im thankful for it. Dihn was amazing! Very knowledgeable, kind and not a pushy salesman. My boyfriend and I walked in not knowing what we wanted and in less than 30 minutes he helped us make the decision that was best for us. This is the second mattress I’ve purchased from this location. The staff is different from the last time around but the service and assistance was just as great. I’ll definitley be coming back to see Dihn for any of my future mattress needs.

Went to Mattress Firm a month ago and regretted it. Ended up picking the wrong mattress and paid about $400 in restocking/pickup fees to return it. Mattress firm charges huge fees for delivery, returns and exchanges. Go to Mancinis Sleepworld nearby on Ashby. Mancinis has more options, better prices, no delivery fees and a better return policy.

Absolutely worst experience and worst customer service. If they ever try to sell you an adjustable base, say NO! The first week they called us on the day of delivery to say that they messed up on their scheduling and couldnt deliver to us. The next week they deliver the mattress and adjustable base BUT they did not include the owners manual AND did not include the hardware needed to assemble the adjustable bed or even bring their own tools. We then wait another week because apparently we cannot get a refund unless it is broken (an adjustable base with no mounting hardware is considered broken to me). They then show up the following week with tools this time... but NO MOUNTING HARDWARE. Very disappointed at the poor communication and lack of respect for the customer (one of the delivery guys were on the phone with their supervisor laughing at the fact that they messed up on their end, extremely unprofessional) This experience not only wasted a complete month of Saturdays waiting for Mattress Firm to ATTEMPT to correct this issue but the overall experience was completely frustrating and unnecessary stress to say the least. We will never buy from Mattress Firm again and we encourage you to do the same.

His expertise and patience was so helpful in directing my husband and myself to the right mattress without wasting time in looking at other mattresses that didnt fit our needs.We picked the Stearns and Foster Woodburn Hybrid Model. It is a perfect match along with our pillows specifically picked for our sleeping patterns. No more back pain! Delivery was due to prompt scheduling, professional, and quick!
