Im a court reporter in Texas, and Jason and his tech department have been a godsend since covid and Ive gone remote. I bought the Martel Zoom kit from him right off the bat and its been wonderful ever since. When I recently got a new Zoom computer, I needed help with the settings for the external mic, and Jason fixed it immediately. He and his group are awesome! Thank you!!

Im a court reporter in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I ran into a problem with my Martel Court Reporters Zoom Kit audio. It was a new issue for Jason from tech support which other companies’ tech supports couldn’t fix. But Jason didnt give up. It took several tries, but he eventually solve the problem. It turns out the problem had nothing to do with the Zoom Kit but with an electrical issue with an accessory. I really appreciate the persistent support he provided.

Jason is superb! I cannot overstate what peace of mind I have knowing Martels Jason always has my best interest at heart. Any time I call asking for help setting up a new computer, to work with my Zoom equipment I bought from Martel, Jason goes above and beyond making sure my drivers are all set as they should be. He also makes sure my settings are set to the optimum levels. Ive bought the conference microphone set from Martel and Jason has me covered there as well. You cannot go wrong buying your recording and Zoom equipment from Jason at Martel. I will always buy from Martel knowing Jason will be there when I need him to take care of my technical needs. I am a court reporter in the Southern California area. When my real time laptop did an upgrade, it somehow reset all the settings on my real time laptop and my Zoom laptop. Jason spent over an hour with me adjusting and testing settings and went above and beyond to help. He is friendly and knowledgeable. You will appreciate him.

I’ve been a court reporter for close to 30 years now and have been a very happy customer of Martel Electronics with all of my court reporting needs/equipment...they have never let me down or disappointed me!Tonight I received my Digital Court Reporter 5000 recorder and had so many questions that I emailed them several times. I was extremely impressed with Jason and his knowledge of this recorder! His response time was impeccable...I needed answers right away. I have been court reporting for years, and audio has always been an issue on whatever computer I have owned. I have the new Elite Court Reporter laptop from Martel, and the audio is incredible. I also invested in the Zoom kit, which makes the audio sound like Im in a theater. My scopist are much happier now too, that they have better audio to work with. Jason has made this process very easy. He did all the work for me! I know sometimes we worry about spending money on new equipment, but this is your livelihood and you need the best. You will not regret investing in either of these products.

I searched for a long time for a microphone setup that would work for my needs (big Board Room) I eventually found Martels usb system with a mixer. I was a little worried about the upfront $1000, but this was the only item I found that does what I need.It works very well. The sound is crystal clear. The mixer is fantastic. I am super impressed.Then one day, it wasnt working. I called Martel and left a message. In my opinion, this is the ultimate test of a company; How is their customer service? I was worried. It had been two months, and their return policy is 30 days.Within an hour, Jason called me back, identified the problem (which is ultimately on me for losing the power source), and not only got it working but also is sending me a new power source.Incredible. I highly recommend buying equipment from Martel. Ive been a court reporter for 31 years and have never had such good personal tech support as I get from Jason. I am a court reporter and have been working as an official in Texas for a little over 14 years. I recently purchased a laptop from Martel Electronics, as I was in need of a new computer and Ive been happy with the digital recorders Ive purchased from them in the past. I have used a MacBook Pro for the majority of my career but decided to look into laptops specifically made for court reporters this time around and am so glad I did and that I went with Martel. The customer service has been great from the beginning. I called and spoke to Jason when considering the purchase and placed the order while on the phone with him. After the computer arrived, he logged into my old laptop and the new one and transferred everything over. The part of getting a new computer that I dread is having to transfer everything, so having Jason do that for me was so nice! He downloaded other programs that I use, as well. I cant say enough good things about Martel and Jason. Our laptops are an investment for us, and this one is worth every penny. If youre in the market for a new digital recorder, I recommend using Martel for those, as well.

I am a court reporter and my Martel court reporting mic wasnt working correctly. I had not used it on this particular laptop. Jason is super at Martel! He got all of my drivers updated and got me up and running in about ten minutes for Zoom depositions tomorrow! The audio is unbelievable!Jason is a superwhiz at helping court reporters! I have been using the Martel Zoom kit since the end of 2020. It has been a total game changer. In the beginning of Zoom depos, I had trouble in almost every depo hearing words here and there and had to interrupt everyones flow to get a repeat. Since using the kit, my audio is perfect. It has saved me so much stress and time. I use a scopist via Realteam and we both love this system. Thank you to Jason for setting everything up for me and testing it. This is a must have for Zoom proceedings!

Im an official court reporter who purchased the Reporters Laptop from Martel two years ago. One of the main reasons I bought this computer is because of the four years of support that comes with it! Yes, it costs more than a random Lenovo laptop, but the four years of support are well worth it! Today, two years after purchase, Jason was able to remotely solve an issue that I was unable to and Stenograph couldnt fix either. I am tired of not having computer support, and this has been a godsend for me! If youre on the fence about the Reporters Laptop, I say, go for it!!

Im a court reporter (depositions.) I recently bought a laptop from Martel. While Im pretty proficient with my software, there are certain things I have no clue about. This is where Martel (Jason) comes in.My function keys stopped working -- in a job...of course -- and I was able to restart everything and they worked. Temporarily. Happened again, then again.I finally realized maybe it wasnt something I did. Sure enough, there was some very complicated issue with my hard drive (I think?) and within minutes, Jason had me up and running.I was first apprehensive about the laptop package I purchased, which includes tech support. Well, no more. I could not live without it! Its such a relief in such a stress-driven career to have someone in my back pocket that can remotely take care of any issues I may have. I just had to switch from the Marantz PMD671 (no longer made or serviced) to the DM430, and Jason was patient and helpful with my learning curve. Martel Electronics goes above and beyond for their court reporting customers. They are one of the few companies that will give you unlimited, FREE tech help as soon as you buy one of their products. I was just assisted by a very helpful gentleman (sorry, forgot to ask for your name) who just saved the day when he took over my computer and discovered that I have a bum USB port that was making the HGM-USB mic crackle. The mic is six years old, and I thought it may just be at the end of its life cycle, so thank goodness I called! And thats right! I still got free, reliable customer service SIX years after purchasing the mic! Amazing! Not only did he figure out the problem quickly, he saved me from probably having to buy a new computer. I am, and will always be, a loyal customer of Martel and their products.

What’s up with this company? Do they have one employee named Jason who sells you a product- it’s not cheap- and tells you he’ll help you with it I waited over an hour on the phone to speak to him and when he finally called me he rushed through the kit set up in -5 minutes and said he was late for lunch?? The reason I bought the 200 kit from him is he assured me he would help me with any technical problems or issue. Well I e tried to get through to him with a quick question because I had to slightly change something I think he didn’t set up right and he emailed me back that I can try a YouTube video on my own to see if it works. This is the customer care and support? I wouldn’t purchase another thing from them. Also, I’m going to co tact other reporters on forum to alert them to this company. I also heard they don’t give refunds and try to avoid accepting returns. The reason I’m giving two stars is I’m a nice person and he set it up initially after making me wait well over an hour. Poor customer support and no caring.

This is a fantastic microphone (the USB martel recorder for court reporters) and they are extremely helpful in getting it set up for you so it works its best on the your equipment. Even though its plug and play (record), sometimes the settings need to be tweaked and tech support is very helpful with this. Jason was fantastic when my settings went wacky even though Ive owned this microphone for a year now -- they still helped me out get things back in top recording order.

I have been using a borrowed Court Reporter 5000 package and decided to order my own since I had been pleased with the borrowed one. I have been terribly disappointed in my digital recorder. It has clicking noise that is audible while the recorder is running and of course the recorder records that clicking and it makes the playback quality less than superior, which is what I had been used to and was expecting of the same equipment. I am sadly disappointed and I hope that ONE DAY Martel will answer their phones (because they dont) so I can get some help.

Apparently the good reviews were written a year or more ago. I bought a microphone three weeks ago and need help getting it set up on my computer. I have called and tried every extension possible, no one ever answers. I have left several voicemails, no call back. Now the voicemail box for the technical support person is full. Finally decided I was going to just return the stupid thing, but you have to have authorization through an e-mail address. Sent several e-mails, no reply. Really awful

Bought a Marantz CDR310 CD recorder in December 2009 as a Christmas gift for my musician friend. Arrived on the 15th in plenty of time for xmas. By the time we were able to sit down in the studio and start cutting tracks it was the second week of January, 2010. By the time we figured out the recorder was defective and was making discs that could not be played nor duplicated it was Saturday the 16th. So, by the time Monday the 18th rolled around we were three days over their 30 day limit on cash back. You would have thought that they would make an exception for a Christmas present...! Well, buyer be ware... I wont be buying from Martel again...

I had to send my mic in because they did trouble shooting with me on the phone, once they finally answered, and found out it needed repair. I sent it in three weeks ago and have never heard a word. I have been calling and calling and no one answers. I leave a message and no one ever calls back. Now I am without my mic and basically feel like they stole it from me. I will try really hard not to do business with them again, but they unfortunately have the monopoly on good recording devices for CRs.

The product didnt work at all for me. I attempted to return it within 30 days but was asked to try it a little longer with a few modifications and told I could return at a later date if needed. I tried all of their computer changes and it still didnt work. Then they told me I was past my return date. Terrible product and worse customer service.
