We stay here every year with our 4 kids. It is a beautiful, well kept resort. The grounds are well cared for and everything is clean and up to date. The views are beautiful and the amenities are great. This was the first time we have ever had an issue with other guests though. The people in the room next to us kept leaving garbage outside even after being asked not to by the staff. They also were playing music and talking loudly until 2 AM multiple nights in a row. They were inconsiderate people which is nothing against the Marriott, just bad luck for us this time.

This our familys favorite place to stay for vacation since it has included in the resort amenities: several tennis courts, more than 5 swimming pools including one with several slides, ping pong tables, small movie theater with fairly new releases, and other activities fun for the whole family. Its also within walking distance of a relatively quiet beach (Newport Coast / Crystal Cove). The weather is generally pleasant throughout the year. The two bedroom (King bed in master suite; queen bed plus sofa sleeper in the other room) accommodations comfortably sleep 6 and a few more in the pullout sofa bed in the living room. There is a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in each unit. Most units have great views of the ocean.I almost dont want to leave this review because I dont want it to become even more popular...

One of the best vacations I have taken. Beautiful property, family friendly yet great insulation as the rooms were very quiet. Nice pool and outdoor bar area and really tranquil fire pits for evening to enjoy. So close to great restaurants and walking distance to the beach. Lovely, lovely!

Absolute perfection!Need anything? Text the front desk and it will be at your door in 40 minutes or less.Luxurious pools, plenty of activities, beautiful outdoor furniture. They were at full occupancy and you could hardly tell. The property is very large.The room was spotless. Our view was legendary.

This place is wonderful. Villas are very nice, clean and give you amble space. I always like to talk to staff every place I go to. Margarito Camacho is absolutely wonderful and I hope the company realizes what an asset he is to the company. He has such a wonderful smile and fixed our issue with our stove promptly. We got to know him a bit while he was at our villa. Will definitely come back!

This place is special to my wife and I. Weve come here many times over the last 10 years.This most recent visit has been exceptional. My knee is super messed up and walking is painful. When we saw where our room originally was, I asked for a closer room to the pool and sauna area. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating and moved us into a closer building.This is one of our special places and will be most likely forever.

We love this place. Were part of the Marriott Vacation Club and we bought into it at this property because we enjoyed it so much! The grounds are beautiful. The facilities and activities are well appointed/planned. The staff is helpful. And the rooms are nice, large, and clean. We also love the convenience of the location, being close to Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove, Balboa Island, and Fashion Island. Not to mention, fairly close to a nice grocery store for when you want to eat in. We come here at least once a year, and always look forward to it!

I write this review with a lot of regret, as I am Titanium Memeber of Marriott, own many time shares at this hotel, and my company spend over $2 nil a year at Marriott Vacation Clubs for events. This place has Great location and is a really great hotel that is managed by people that will not provide any service and they go out of their way to make your visit difficult. Simply the Mgt there stinks. They will not even allow you to store a few bags in their storage for a few hours because I had to run the the airport. They do nothing for their guests, so if you want a top service hotel, keep away from this Marriott. I am so upset with this hotel, I have told my Executive to find a different place for you employees and events. Sorry that I had to share how bad the Mgt of this hotel made our stay.

The property is stunning, giving off that true resort feel with its meticulously landscaped grounds. I stayed in the 2000 building, and the view was very nice – a serene overlook of the golf course, with the ocean peeking through in the distance. The sunsets here are beautiful, especially with Catalina Island in the backdrop. As for the room, it was more than I could ask for: spacious and well-appointed with a full kitchen, dining area, cozy living room, two comfortable bedrooms, and a lovely balcony. Highly recommend.

Definitely not a place that welcomes a diversity inclusive environment, but again it is Newport, so I guess that’s to be expected. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone of African descent personally. There are better places that will make you feel more comfortable and welcomed without the weird looks and off treatment, like most of the Hilton hotels and resorts. Nobody wants to spend their money at a place that makes them feel like they don’t belong there or don’t want them there. Don’t believe me? Notice there aren’t any reviews from people of that specific background, and you won’t see any guests or employees of that background there either..

Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas.We have vacationed in this resort about a dozen times. The finishes and fixtures and starting to show wear. Like rust around the drain in the bathroom sink. Plus a dent in the top of its stopper. The carpet was not clean which you will see in the pictures. They came and cleaned it and there were still spots. There was a big stain on the ottoman. This carpet is not very old on the refurbishment scale.If you look you will see numerous plugs and even the thermostat are installed at an angle. I found that Very troubling to my visual senses as my eyes kept drawing to it. Whoever did the punch list should have caught these.The sofa is nice and the chair are nice in both the living room and the bedroom however the dinning room chairs felt cheap and the new style coffee table didn’t really appear to fit the overall design.Does this make it a bad room, no. It just not up to the level of style and excellence this location has provided for years.There currently is no arcade as they search for a new vendor.The pools are great. The staff is wonderful.The views are always amazing. The 60 plus winter temperature allows for shorts or layering.The sales presentation done by Dennis was the best one we’ve been to in years. If you are going to set through one ask for him.However, the sales gallery’s furnishing and carpets appear old, dated and not real clean. I just got back from a week stay. All I have to say is that this place is racist. So if you are not white, then good luck trying to fit in. They’re nasty looks and comments from staff and other guests. This bothered me due to my older child knowing what’s going on around her. I took my kids to the activity that there was for kids, making candy sushi, the employees were giving us dirty looks and almost ignoring my kids up until it was inevitable to speak to them because they had to be thought how to make the sushi. We felt very uncomfortable as the employees were talking and interacting with the white children in the room and not at all my kids. Needless to say we did not go back to any more activities. Other guests saying out loud how they wanted to get out of the jacuzzi because it was too crowded, but didn’t say a peep when white people would come in. I know the facility can’t control their guests, but it’s about the environment that they create. There’s definitely a difference in treatment.

The Villa was beautiful and huge! Wonderful balcony and full kitchen were a great bonus. The only issues were that the tub/shower in the 2nd bathroom did not work and the TV in the master suite didnt work. Otherwise we will definitely need to visit again.

Hands down my favorite resort to visit in cali. I have stayed at newport coast villas twice and have loved every minute of my stay. The views are absolutely stunning of their pool and ocean at check in. The villas are very spacious and clean fully stocked with everything you need to cook meals on a daily. There are endless activities to do around the resort such as mini golf, tetherball, ping pong, swimming, an arcade for the kids, smores around the firepit in the evening time, even a movie theater to catch a flick with the family just to name a few. I also love the fact that they have many pools to lounge at. One has more of an adult vibe with music at times and a bar. There is also a kid friendly one with a heated pool, a splash pad, and a couple of waterslides my daughter enjoyed. The resort also offers gas grills in case you would like to grill your own food. I will say I can never get enough of this place and am definitely planning my next family trip to come back to newport once again

We have been Marriott owners since 1993 which, we were told, qualifies us as legacy owners . Our time here made us realize it is an empty title. We were given a set of rooms in the lowest section of the resort, encompassed by trees with no view.On the 2nd night the people occupying the room above us engaging a free for all for about 20 minutes. We called the desk. The sent security an hour later. The security guard told us he got the call from the Marriott desk 10 minutes ago.No need to go on. Suffice it to say this is a far cry from the Marriott service we had when we first bought in.

VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. Makes me want to give up my Bonvoy membership altogether. Basic housekeeping services have to be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Just one time during your stay. Any more and you need to pay for it. Basic housekeeping. Which every hotel provides to you as a basic service. Which is baked into your room price. Ridiculous.And if, like us, you have to attend a presentation, be prepared to talk to the most insensitive sales folks who will remind you time and again that you HAVE TO spend 90 minutes with them - sobbing toddlers be damned.

Beautiful resort! Depending on the weather, you can see Catalina Island and enjoy some beautiful sunsets. The live music at the poolside restaurant in the evenings was top notch. The resort itself is extremely well-kept, in spite of some kids attempts to destroy property. I guess you cant pick the guests that come. The shuttles to the beach (walking is not a good option) and close-by attractions run regularly and allow you to avoid traffic and parking hassles. Theres enough parking at the resort, but its busy enough that you might have to walk 2 minutes, depending on the parking spot you find. Be sure to check out the recreation area at the east end of the resort, as that has pickleball courts, basketball, ping pong, shuffle board, a pool, etc. Dont assume that the pool area at the central check-in building is all they have.

This is definitely a beautiful location. It was cool and rainy most of our stay, so we unfortunately did not make use of the pool. Some activities were moved indoors due to the rain - which was nice.I was a little disappointed in the rooms. They were pretty clean, with the exception of the master bathroom. I always clean upon arrival and the lysol wipes are usually still white after wiping. This was not the case here... (Ill leave it at that). Also, there was a red spot on the pillowcase of the extra pillows for the pullout bed. And my daughter said the sheet on the bed in the 2nd room felt as though there was something on it, causing her to itch. The ladies that were scheduled to clean our room said that we would need to call housekeeping to change the sheets (this confused me as I thought they were housekeeping). And the concierge desk told me they charge for changing sheets. Ultimately, we got the sheets changed. Im curious to see if this will show up on my bill.And I really dislike the setup of the master bedroom/bathroom. The shower and toilet are in a small little corner room and the sink area is open to the bedroom. So there was no way to not disturb my husband sleeping when I got up early.Having said that, we bought into MVC because of prior experiences at other locations. Also, Tegan did a great job of making it make sense for us (although the numbers guy that assisted her almost made us pass due to some of his responses to our concerns).Overall, this is a beautiful location and I would recommend even though there were some disappointments.

Villas and apartments in the very beautiful Newport Coast area. We rented a two-bedroom apartment, two bathrooms, a sitting room, a dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen. Prices are $450 per day. The place is upscale and quiet, suitable for families. Room service is once a week. There is parking. The people who manage the resort are helpful. It is worth a try.

Excellent resort. Over 30 buildings. Large 2 bedrooms. Very clean. I have exchanged through Interval International several times. In the main building there is a small shop offering pizzas. I particularly like the pastries which are half price after 4. There is a shuttle to get around the resorts and another one to take you to the beach, Laguna, and a small shopping mall. There are several pools. The one behind the main building has a bar and sells food. There are scheduled activities everyday including movies in the main building.

Beautiful property/grounds. However, the villas/suites need renovation/updating.Walked into our room, and there were crumbs on the counters. There was someones used kleenex on the floor in the living room area. The dishwasher was showing signs of wear - rust. The living room remote was missing, and the TV in the queen bedroom was not working. The dish liquid was not in the room. WAS THE SUITE ACTUALLY CLEANED???The front desk person (male) on Thursday, February 22nd night around8 pmm was rude and condescending. We are titanium members and have stayed at this property once before with a wonderful experience. Too bad this experience was soiled by our above experience. We addressed these issues with the front desk the next day just for the response to be were sorry......

Hotel staff and security harassed me for taking two spots with my truck when the parking lot was more than half empty.They threatened to tow my truck, even though I wasn’t blocking anyone. Such a beautiful, idyllic place. Very California. Sweeping views of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Gorgeous sunsets. This area is one of the most desired places in Southern California.Timeshares are offered so theres a lot of guests from all over the country all year round. The individual units are well furnished, jacuzzis in the maters bath. Amenities all catered to pamper guests during the stay.The Pelican Hill Resort and golf course is close by. The South Coast Plaza Shopping Mall is only a few minutes ride.

Recently stayed at this fabulous place. This is hands down the best customer experience at a resort I have ever had!! I have traveled everywhere, stayed everywhere, but I have never, ever had such impeccable service. Everyone is super friendly, kind, and they go above and beyond. It is also very beautiful and clean. I loved my villa. They also have shuttles that go to Laguna Beach, Fashion Island Mall, and Crystal Cove. There are many activities and things to do. If you have a senior or elderly family member, and you are staying in the 2000 or 3000 buildings, they will come pick you up on a golf cart to drive you up the steep hill. Or if you dont want to climb the hill back up to the main building, you can walk through the beautiful park, and it will lead you directly back to the front area. They have a Taco Tuesday, and we enjoyed great tacos and sat out near the bar area and listened to wonderful music by a live musician. On my first day, there was a lovely young lady singing Brazilian songs and playing her guitar. Everything is close by! We drove to Balboa Island, and also Corona del Mar. Also, try the cinnamon rolls they have in the marketplace; they are so good. I HIGHLY recommend this fabulous place.

We are vacation club owners in Spain and rented a week via red week here. We’ve also stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbour in Orlando (as well as our home resort).Initially impressions on the resort was good. Unfortunately our accommodation wasn’t so great.The housekeeping was poor. We found rubbish on the floor in the bedroom, empty sweet wrappers on the top of the fridge, one cupboard smelt of poo and the dishwasher stunk (and there were dirty knickers on the floor next to the balcony).The kitchen was falling to bits and really needed replacing.We had a few issues (toaster didn’t work, toilet kept refilling every few hours making lots of noise). We were also next to a golf course where the cut the grass between 3am and 5am every other morning with very noisy machinery.The customer services was generally good and helpful although they were unable to fix the toilet was 2 visits.We went to a sales presentation which was awful. The lady didn’t have a clue what she was talking about and made us feel like second grade citizens. Apparently the reason was had an old and dirty villa was because we were renting.On day 2 our daughter was very sick after visiting the pool. No one else caught it thankfully.Overall very disappointed.

First the positives- the grounds are beautiful and well kept with good views of the ocean as you walk around the property. Also some of the staff such as housekeepers, security, and transportation were very friendly. Rooms are spacious.Now the negatives:-Upon check in we were told that there is no housekeeping service. On the 2nd day of our stay we came back to find that our room had been cleaned. They did a great job cleaning but we made no effort to put away our valuables, tidy up, or leave a tip. It is odd that the front desk staff was so ill informed about a basic service that this hotel offers.-The location is not great besides a distant ocean view (which may not even be seen from your room). Very few restaurants nearby and obviously no real restaurant or bar besides poolside service at this hotel which is a shame. Beach access is difficult. The price is high for a poor location.-There were very few areas to store luggage in the rooms. No luggage racks or benches to place bags or suitcases on. So my large suitcase had to sit on a rocking chair the whole time. Very odd not to have luggage racks at a hotel.-Pool towels are in each room upon arrival and a note next to them states that you will charged for missing towels at check out. This makes taking the towels to the beach easy. However, there are no extra towels at the pool which is absolutely insane for such an expensive hotel. The towels are child sized and made of a thin scratchy material. The hotel cant possibly be losing much money on the off chance that people will steal a couple of towels.-Check in and check out times are disappointing- 4pm check in and 10am check out.-Showers in the smaller rooms were very difficult to get clean in- shower heads were old and had a poor stream of water. Not fun after a sandy day at the beach. Whoever was staying in the small room ended up using the shower in the larger bathroom.Overall we would not stay here again, due to the expensive price, poor location, and penny pinching vibe of this hotel.

I normally never write bad reviews, but just think people should be aware of a few things when booking. The only reason for 3 stars is that if you don’t book through an owner or as an owner of a time share just be aware that you will likely have very low priority on room choices. We ended up in a “sub level” (Marriott’s words) room with no phone service making it hard to work or contact each other and fully reliant on Wi-Fi. We also came in several hours before check in time as recommended by Marriott to avoid the 4:00 rush, but were given the same options at 12 pm and 4 pm for rooms, so that seems to have made no difference in what you get, which is why I suspect when booking through Marriott they put you in the less desirable rooms that are far from most of the amenities, so you will need to drive to all the pools. These are things that aren’t deal breakers, but nice to know in advance if you have never stayed here.In past experience in “sub-level” rooms you will likely have a view of sidewalk or trees making the room fairly dark and bugs on varying levels. We have stayed here several times before and overall like it, but when booking directly though Marriott the above has happened multiple times. The grounds are pretty and the location is great in proximity to the beaches. The rooms are nice, have full kitchens, and a good amount of space. Just wish I had realized the above was a likely possibility when booking directly through Marriott since this has happened multiple times now. The Homes and Cilla customer service is horrible, or more I should say no existent. This was the worst experience that I have ever had on a family vacation. We arrived in Mammoth California and had no contact information to access the property. We tried to call the number on the homes and villas site and they were closed for the day with no emergency contact. On their website it states they have 24/7 assistance which is not the case they are only open 6am-6pm eastern time. We are on the west coast and our check in time is 4 pm which doesnt make sense if you have a problem checking is as we did. I contacted Marriott Bonvoy directly and the only option they game me was do stay at their local hotel for $900 for the night and wouldnt accept my points even though they are with Marriott. I didnt have any other choice since I had my wife, 2 small children and my 80 year old mother with us and it was 13 degrees outside and we needed a place to stay. I have contacted them several times since for some sort of reimbursement and they havent contacted me back. This is completely unacceptable, Marriott Bonvoy and Homes and Villas is a hospitality company and should have someone on call 24/7 as their website states. I have disputed the charges in my card and refuse to pay since they dont even have the courtesy to have supervisor call me. Horrible customer service.

Bed was 4 stars.Master shower was a double shower which was amazing but all of the bathrooms were definitely dated.The bad:-We weren’t told about the pool that was geared for kids that had a splash pad and slides. (There are three separate pool areas) we discovered it while on a walk during the last day.-No one at Marriott has stayed in one of these I bet. They should provide a mini cooking oil and all of the cooking utensils are metal which isn’t great for cooking on Teflon pans.- Bartender at the main pool (old guy) was rude. Stood there for a HOT minute before he said “need something” and it was not busy lol- the fixture in the shower would not allow you to switch to using the tub so we couldn’t give our toddler a bath- love that Marriott was supporting what seemed to be a smaller company using more natural shampoo and conditioner, however the shampoo was terrible. Wouldn’t dispense from the dispenser well and then it took a ton of product to actually wash your hair.For the price you are definitely paying for the location and amenities. We would likely come back but may try others first before coming back.

I would love to give this property a 5 star review. We’ve been there 5-6 times although we own in Aruba. The view is still amazing. What’s changed (1) We were there 14 days and saw housekeeping one time. Never saw a tidy service. We emptied our trash in public cans around the property. (2) There are dogs everywhere. They are not all service dogs. We like dogs but enforce the policy for everyone. (3) Parking is a joke. Many people with guest passes park in villa lots. Out of 14 days, we parked in lot 4 times. We asked if they enforce the warning tickets. Employee said maybe after 3 of them. (4) Weather wasn’t great but staff used that as an opportunity to close and cancel anything they could. The shuttle didn’t run to mall because of rain. What else is there to do when it rains. (5) We went to a sales presentation. For a mere $54,000 we can buy more points and come there more often. No thanks! Lots of things would need to change before I use the points I have to come back.

Given that this villa is a 4-star resort, I was quite disappointed. We encountered numerous ants in our room and had to contact the front desk three times to request ant treatment. Upon our initial call, no apology was offered, and they assured us the issue would be addressed the next day, but no action was taken. The ant problem persisted, leading to a second call to the front desk. Unfortunately, they were unable to locate any record of the issue, which was extremely disappointing. Among all the Marriott resorts weve visited, this front desk experience was the most disappointing. Furthermore, the telephone in our living room was inoperable, necessitating the use of our own cellphones to contact them. Surprisingly, they didnt see fit to replace the nonfunctional phone in the living room. While the location in an affluent area was favorable, the staffs performance left much to be desired.

I stayed here in July 2023. The tap water tasted bad. It made me feel a little nauseated. I tested the water with 14 in 1 Test Strips for water testing. Nitrate was 25 to 50, which is high.I stayed here in 2022 and in 2023 before, and experienced these other problems:* door handle partially broken* The handle on the faucet in the kitchen fell off. Repairman fixes it.* one of the TVs doesnt work. Repairman fixes it.* towels were rough, not soft* an electric outlet pushed in seperately from the cover* Marriott promo video on TV stops and goes on TV* Some of the key cards didnt work.* The plug in the tub drain was unscrewed.It didnt work well after I screwed it in.* A threatening note reads that if pool towels are missing from the room, you will be charged.* The light over the dining table flickered sometimes.* Hinges squeak on door of my bedroom.* If you miss a scheduled timeshare pitch, the salesman gets upset/angry with you on the phone.* They increased maintenance fees (for timeshares) to pay for repairs/remodel.* One time, there was no sheet on the bed.* They dont have wheelchairs and mobility scooters.* Timeshare salesmen lie that timeshares are a good investment. Good investments gain value over time so you can sell them later at a higher price. Not true with timeshares.* If you wait at the stops for the Newport shuttle, the shuttle will not stop for you, unless you text or call them in advance, or if you are at the main stop by Tritons fountain.* The limits of the yellow guest parking passes are not clear. Confusing wording makes it sound like guests have limited parking but can park anywhere. Guests get ticketed. The website reads: We offer free WiFi, free parking & no resort fees... Marriott Newport Coast Villas, a time share facility, is comfortable, well maintained, and beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Due to COVID it has been four years since we returned. While the large suites have been redecorated with carpeting, furniture and appliances, everything else remains comfortably unchanged.Our two bedroom/two bath suite has an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean from its private patio.The kitchen is equipped with a large microwave, four burner range with a large oven, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, serving pieces and dishwasher. Soap, paper towels, and sponges are supplied.As an extension to the kitchen is a dining table, that seats four, and a living room with an easy chair, hassock, and a very comfortable couch.The three televisions are hugh and present crystal clear pictures with lots of selections.Attached to each bedroom is a private bath. Adequate closet space is supplied for a longer visit.The grounds and facilities are well maintained. Many activities are provided, a list is posted in the elevator.STIFF: Parking is free. Electric charging stations are located on the west wall of the garage. Luggage carts are available near the elevators which run from the parking facility to the suites. Most of the facility is wheelchair accessible. About a mile South is a shopping plaza with car charging stations.

My family has owned the Starwood timeshare before it was bought out by Marriott. We usually have great experiences but this was my first time at a Marriott location and it was very disappointing. After all of the negative experiences in such a short stay, I was quite embarrassed to have brought my husband here (his family usually stays at the Hyatt). I get that this isn’t the St. Regis or The W but one should still expect a certain standard behind the Marriott brand.- No complimentary room water- No robes or room slippers- No luggage rack- No free dental kit (you have to buy the overpriced toothpaste/toothbrush from their store)- $15 mochi ice cream (normally $6) from their store was all melted *see photo*. Didn’t have the chance to return/exchange it since they were already closed and we left early the next day.- View from the room was a joke. It was facing the back storage area. You would think we would get better treatment as an owner with the prices we pay but even so, no one should have to look at a messy view. Doesn’t represent the establishment well.- Pingpong paddles are plastic (very sad)- Pool could use a bit of cleaning on the sides. Gunk has built up.- Keep track of your pool towels! Otherwise you will be charged. We had to carry our wet towels around bc we couldn’t find a place to get dry towels.- Parking wasn’t bad but very unclear. Receptionist made it sound like each room had one designated parking right in front of their room and extra cars have to park in the structure but that was not the case. Parking was all full in front of our building so we ended up parking in the structure. Not the end of the world, but communication could’ve been clearer.My concern with timeshares is that they make you feel so valued at presentations and sell you on the idea of a great vacation but then once you’re in, you kind of see certain properties (like this) fall apart because owners are already locked in. I hope that this is not the case here. Please improve the service and quality of this establishment.

We are Marriott Vacation Club Titanium Elite Members. We’re also part of the Marriott Rewards program. We’ve stayed at the Newport Coast Marriott Property several times. The Newport Coast property is beautiful but what you don’t know about Marriott’s “so called insurance policies” can cost you dearly!I’m not sure I would go back again after an incident that took place at the Newport Coast Marriott Property in June of 2019. In the early morning hours we heard an alarm going off outside our villa but couldn’t identify it because there were tall trees and shrubs obscuring our view of the parking lot where the sound seemed to be coming from. We assumed it was possibly an accidental alarm and security (or the possible owners of a car) would hear it and take care of matters. That morning, we got a knock at our door and were told that someone threw a large stone through the back window of our SUV. It turned out that someone stole a set of golf clubs worth over $6,000 from our vehicle. The thieves apparently tried to steal a second set of clubs in our SUV but were unsuccessful. Turns out that at least five other cars were broken into the same morning and had their valuables stolen too. Things like laptop computers, beach kites, diving gear, personal items of value, etc… were stolen as part of this smash and grab event.We reported the theft to Marriott Head of Security but were told that they didn’t have sufficient cameras on the premises to catch the license plate of the perpetrators either coming in or leaving the premises. He also told us they didn’t have any security in our area at the time the theft took place. No one from Marriott Security heard the shrieking sound of car alarms evidently. 😳🤷🏻When we asked how to file a theft claim we were told that Marriott had a “no fault insurance policy” and couldn’t do anything for us. In disbelief, I asked what the policy would be if someone broke into our villa and stole the exact set of clubs? The Head of Security told us they don’t cover theft in your villa either. I was dumbfounded! How can a multi-billion dollar corporation not carry reasonable liability insurance to protect their vacation club owners/guests while staying on their property? Unbelievable!Our guest eventually had to replace his clubs at a cost of nearly $6,000 once he got home. We also got a bill for over $700 from our rental car company for the damage caused by the rock thrown through our back window.Car Rental Companies have you sign a disclaimer if you decline additional coverage on their vehicle. Marriott doesn’t tell anyone that they don’t have insurance to cover theft on their vacation club property. How can anyone feel safe with Marriott Vacation Club if they don’t carry insurance that protects their patron’s valuables?This is a black eye on Marriott Vacation Club. Beware of the potential for theft when staying at one of their properties. I wonder what kind of insurance they carry if you should get hurt or have an accident on one of their properties? Do they even have medical insurance or liability insurance to cover an accident on their premises?Marriott needs to increase their surveillance systems, provide security for early morning hours, and carry some form of liability/theft insurance that protects their member’s belongings while on their complex! Consider this Marriott Member disgruntled!!!8/13/19: As follow up to my review sent 6/12/19, Marriott read my review and an agent from Marriott contacted me via email to ensure that they would do a deeper investigation. They also assigned me a case number. They apologized for the mishap and hoped it would not prevent me from using a Marriott property in the future. But I’ve heard nothing from Marriott in the form of any kind of response to their investigation on this matter since my compliant. This makes me think it was all lip service. I’m still waiting to hear back from the Marriott team! In the meantime nothing but crickets 🦗!

During both visits, the tactless front desk staff (especially Holly Rhodes) and timeshare sales people who are circulating the lobby left us with an uneasy feeling. A property that has this much to offer could use a more refined staff. The room decor is also a bit dated, tattered, and lifeless. It could use some refreshing as well. Really disheartening experience. Came from out of the country and saved up to spend over $400 usd/night on this 4 star hotel. When we arrived there was a pretty pungent smell in the room, tried to be considerate and open up the window for a few hours to air it out. Came back to the room and it still smelled pretty bad and gave my girlfriend a migraine so reached out to front desk for help, hoping to move to a different room or at least be compensated. Was not unreasonable, not looking for a free handout just looking for them to acknowledge we paid for 4 star hotel and the service is far from that. Not a wealthy person so saving up for this was the main focus of our vacation. Instead, they brought in a loud machine (pictured below) to get rid of the smell (it sadly did not). What was more disheartening is the night manager just did not approach it from any sort of empathy. She acknowledged that the smell was confirmed by one of her staff but could not do anything. When we pleaded for any sort of help, she refused and told us “we can leave if we want to” (its Newport and trying to get a hotel for the few days we’re here last minute is next to impossible). Just super toxic and rude behaviour by the manager, feeling super disheartened, she kept turning it around and acting like she was the wronged individual (never raised our voice, never spoke rudely, just wanted some help). They offered $25 for a $400/night room that is super difficult to sleep in. She ended the call by saying “are you finished?”. I know this can come across as a rant and one sided but we’re really just customers looking to have someone approach an issue with respect and empathy, neither of which was received, making the experience that much worse. Vacation feels ruined now, more so by having someone treat us as dispensable customers who should just deal with an issue or leave (shouldn’t have to operate within these two extremes).

He was blackout and you kept giving him more, we had to take him from the pool. It is kinda his fault, but as a service worker I am very aware of cut off and drinking limits. He knew it was wrong but Im certain he just wanted to raise the sales and keep getting the tips my cousin was handing absentmindedly handing out.Beyond that, the management/maintenance doesnt seem to have the capacity to control their other patrons. The last thing that brought it down just one more star was that our neighbors every single night left trash outside which reaked, the local wildlife tore up everything leaving garage and food everywhere. It appears as though.none of the staff said anything to them the entire time. It happened literally every day. I know you cant really boss people around, but Id expect a fancy resort like this to have a bit more control of their guests and whats going on on their property.Past that, the employees were all polite and the location and views were amazing. We are MVC owners for 20 years at Newport Coast and Shadowridge. This is the latest review for our stay at Newport Coast. We make the same “special requests” booking every year in advance. High floor, golf and ocean view, and 2 Villa unit options. (Screen shot our request ).Upon arrival 8/27, we were told none of our requests could be accommodated. This was after we have received an email, confirming our request 21 days prior to our arrival, and a phone call from Daniel, our pre arrival specialist, 7 days prior. Upon arrival, we were told that the only request MVC had from us was high floor. Therefore, none of our requests would be available. Andrew, the front desk manager, assured us that the room we were assigned to, was an ocean view and the most popular villa (2424). If you look out through the trees, and over the roof top of the building in front, on the distant horizon, you can see a sliver of the ocean. We showed Andrew a pic of the view, and let him and the other agent to not say, this room has a great view. See attached photo. Andrew, proceeded with one more option 4700 unit, high floor, but no ocean view. Looked towards canyon. When I remarked that I did not want to look out over a dirt canyon for the next seven days, Andrew replied “well, we have had a lot of rain this year, so it’s nice and green”. We are not happy with the response. The front desk suggested that WE follow up the 21 day email and the 7 day phone call, with yet another call, a few days before arrival, to reconfirm our requests. I thought that was the responsibility of MVC owner services/ pre arrival team specialists. Every year the maintenance fees increases and the level of services decreases. The front desk agents are very adept at obfuscating and deflecting the failures of MVC, reminiscent of how politicians avoid answering questions. And to think we were considering purchasing another week here at Newport Coast, since my husband is retired and I’m close. Thank you Andrew and Daniel for saving us a bundle of cash.Regina and Carl

This is by far one of the best vacation spots. Fantastic location just across from the beach. The rooms are stocked well with all the amenities any family would need. Customer service is great and attentive to all guests needs. The property offers a shuttle to the beach, Laguna, and Newport. There are daily activities offered for all ages including ping pong, yoga, exercise classes, movies, and smores gatherings. The pools are incredible. The kids pool is great for all ages and even includes a small water park with two slides. Im definitely going back and highly recommend this property for your next vacation.

We had to mop our floors because upon check-in there was sticky liquid and mud all over the floor. The dishwasher had exploded and soap was running down that as well. The staff was extremely rude. Had to ask multiple times to receive simple supplies such as soap/towels and never received them. On check-out day we were repeatedly harassed by staff rushing us out of our room as we were packing. Then several phone calls were made to the room telling us to get out. Not only are we ambassadors but we are repeat guests and we are sad that we will never come back. Sad to have waisted several thousand dollars on staying here. I do NOT recommend staying here.

The facility itself is huge but it doesnt feel like it when youre using the amenities such as the pool, hot tub etc. Close to Laguna Beach Newport beach, Fashion Island and Irvine. We flow into John Wayne airport and it was a 15 to 20 minute drive in light traffic. Plenty of great places for food and drink on and off-site. So far not feeling an overwhelming sense of welcome for a four star accommodation. We have traveled extensively and never had such a long wait to check-in/get access to room. What a waste of an afternoon. Need a better system for housekeeping staff to communicate when rooms are ready. Don’t bother showing up before 4pm to check in as they will not accommodate you. Don’t even bother giving the poor bellhop your bags, it will take hours for them to get you them if everyone’s rooms are ready at the exact same time.Updated 7pm checkin date:Received a text at 3:58 PM that our room number was ready. Upon showing up at the room using our room key to enter we find housekeeping supplies remaining in the room, floors still need to be cleaned, water all over the bathroom floor & beds still needing to be made. Unbelievable. Called the front desk and they offered to move us to the room next-door that “was ready for check-in”. I informed them housekeeping was still in that room cleaning. We spoke with the crew of housekeepers about five of them and they apologized and got our originally assigned room prepared while we stood there. I communicated what was happening to the individual I was speaking on the phone with at the front desk. They had management get involved and offer us a resort credit for the inconvenience.Fast forward 3 hours we return from getting groceries and provisions for our weeklong stay to see a new name on our TV screen. I called the front desk to figure out the miscommunication and at the same time the new guests trying to occupy this room came with room keys that worked opening our door. Needless to say we were both surprised and on the phone with the front desk.My communication with management I was told he was going to “have to get security involved.” Seems like an awfully strange way to apologize or correct the situation. All of our items have already been unpacked, groceries stored away, dinner in the oven and management is going get security involved, to what kick us out of our room we were checked into?! Unbelievable this is just the first four hours of day one, completely unacceptable for a four-star “resort”Updated after check out:A five star ZIP Code with two star service. We were offered an encore package to let Marriott try to sell us a timeshare. We went through the presentation and said respectfully, absolutely not for many reasons….the room they put us in is old, filthy, line is always busy so can’t get a hold of anyone at the front desk, asked for a comforter and one came but with blood stains on it, they don’t do cleaning unless you ask in advance, the points do not allow you to book as you like and may wind up having to upgrade which means more money out of my pocket, maintenance fees can go up if they need to renovate, etc., etc.It’s a bad idea to buy a timeshare! You lose from day 1. Their villas are old and service is horrible. The retail side earns more and is a bit better. I am going to try Hilton. Enough with dealing with the deterioration of Marriott.

From check in to check out, the staff was so kind and down to earth. They made you feel like you were their #1 priority with every interaction.The resort was clean and had everything you could want! Our villa was perfect! So spacious and very clean. Stocked with the essentials in the kitchen and plenty of pillows and blankets for all! The pool that was at our end of the resort was right next to our villa also had a huge hot tub and kids play area with slides and a huge bucket that dumped water! How fun! The whole pool area was extremely well maintained and the fire pits and grills were amazing! AND you had a great view of the ocean and sunsets!I honestly can’t say enough about this beautiful resort! Highly recommend for any family trip!!

Hands down the best time share! Our family owed four weeks at Newport coast Villas, we enjoyed many summers in the two bedroom villas. The kitchen was perfect, everything you need to prepare meals for the family. The beds were always so cozy, we would have a hard time finding the children in the blankets because they were so big and fluffy. The children where so young when we started vacationing here, they enjoyed the Koi pond being able to feed them, events by the pool, the children’s center where they did arts and crafts, The wonderful staff is always so helpful, They had movies by the swimming pool overlooking the water, drinks served by the pool, yummy food at the deli, a kitty pool and an adult pool, the Crystal Cove beach also is my favorite . Sweet little beach cottages were actually historic homes that you could rent. The children enjoy the tide pools every time we walk down to Crystal Cove beach. This was the best years of our life, hands down!!Take note: If you go to Crystal Cove Beach, don’t drive because it’s too much you’d have to park across the street and walk all the way down. It’s better just to walk down there, you can bring a wagon but it would be a little difficult getting it down all the terrain, it must be easy to carry, because it’s a little bit of a hike. Enjoy!!It’s worth it just to go through the timeshare meeting. I’m pretty sure they still offer affordable weekends. 🏝

This resort is absolutely amazing. It is so family friendly too. We came for a girls trip and spent 3 nights here. The grounds at the resort are beautiful and taken care of and the rooms and amazing. So clean. Housekeeping was top notch and front desk help were out standing. The main pool does get alittle busy, but having the two other smaller pools worked out well and were not crowded at all. I honestly could go on and on about our experience there. It was definitely a 10+Im already wanting to come back!

I have stayed here a few times as a hotel guest. Those visits were always nice and no issues. We decided to accept the Marriot offer for discounted stay to attend their sales presentation to possibly join. We received a very dirty room in a very awkward location. The grounds here are no longer clean, trash everywhere and absolutely no customer service. We tried to get another room or seek help for the dirty room from the front desk and management; hair in bathroom, unclean toilet, garbage disposal full of debris, patio has beer cans and trash, the list goes on. But they will not offer any help. Im wondering how they expect to sell a timeshare opportunity when the staff, grounds, and rooms are just awful. So sad for what used to be a nice destination. There is no loss of communication on their part to make sure you park correctly, dont lose towels, and attend your presentation or you will be charged. They remind you every few hours! We will not be returning. Such a shame for what used to be a nice property.

Checked into room 3622 yesterday. This resort is beautiful BUT walls are paper thin. We listened to girls screaming and shrieking and to what sounded like furniture rolling across the ceiling all night. I tried calling front desk from 10pm to 11 with no answer at all. The noise above started again at 530am. After several attempts for assistance and physically walking to front desk the manager Holly finally called. Our only option is to check out at 10am and hope for quieter accommodations at 4 pm, but no commitment. When I made this reservation I tried to request a handicapped accessible room and I was told no room guarantees are made until checkin. I am here on the property with people coming and going. Nothing makes sense. We have no respit but will hope to get a good night sleep tonight. Staff just seem very unapologetic.

I cant begin to tell you how useless it is that we have a matriott vacation club membership. No availability anywhere even when we call months ahead. You can book as a regular room though....dont worry they need to make as much money as possible at all times with their rooms. I would bet a lot of money that between all MVC locations and all members, the system is set up to where a lot of members will not be able to use all of their points by the end of the year.Dont worry, customer service will not care when you continually tell them you want out.

Love this hotel. I’ve stayed here with my family 4 or 5 times in the past few years. The views of the ocean are beautiful. The grounds are vast and gorgeous with many playgrounds, basketball courts, and other activities. My only negatives are that the linens seem to be washed in harsh chemicals like bleach and it irritates my eyes. Also there’s no restaurant on the premises… you can order food at the main pool though or get stuff at the little market.

I would give this hotel 4.5 stars.I like that it had good landscaping and ocean views. I also enjoyed the fish pond. The beach is close by and there is a shuttle that takes you right to the beach. The hotel room was clean and spacious and had a great kitchen. Seriously, I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could, it had Nice location, nice pools, nice rooms.But some of the staff is unbelievably rude. We have been here since Saturday, staying 7 nights. On Sunday night we tried to do a load of laundry, during the spin cycle it sounded like I was washing a large load of rocks. We called the front desk, they immediately sent 2 maintenance staff to look at it. They determined it would need replaced, and they could do that the next day. We were out of our room the entire next day, so they could come in and take care of it. When we returned nothing had been done. We called they said the maintenance staff was not working today and it would be the next day. Tuesday came and went, when we arrived back at our room Tuesday evening it again appeared nothing had been done. Wednesday morning we called the front desk who told us that maintenance had fixed it on Tuesday without needing to replace it. Great!! Wednesday, desperately needing to do a load of laundry for my family of 4. I started a load, nothing had been done. It was still making the loud awful noise. I recorded it so I could show them what it was doing. I even recorded it from the farthest room away from the washer with the doors closed so they could hear how loud it was. This time, instead of calling I went to the front desk. I spoke with Zack, I told him I had a couple of issues. First, our key had stopped working. It had been working fine Saturday-Tuesday. Wednesday it wouldn’t work at the pool or for our room. He asked me what it was doing, I said it is turning green, but the door is not unlocking. He said, “Are you sure you are turning the door handle correctly?”Seriously!?I tried to explain the washer issue, him cutting me off multiple times. At one point telling me, “ I know what the issue is!” But never an explanation of why it is not fixed. Would not even entertain listening to the recordings I took of how bad it is.I am a pretty reasonable person, if you can’t fix the washer, then just tell me that. Don’t keep telling me it is going to be fixed and then not do it. I have had my family of 4 on the road for a week now… we need to do laundry so we have clean clothes to wear. Their staff needs some training in customer service. Seriously has made my phenomenal stay into a very frustrating one!

Roughly half of the property actually have ocean views - and less during May gray and June gloom. there is no direct beach access though shuttles will run you to Crystal cove, Fashion Island and a few other places. Parking is and always will be a nightmare, one car allowed to park near the villa while all others go into the garage - which is quite the walk depending where you stay. the 4000s buildings are most ideal as a vast majority have ocean views compared to the 1000s which almost have no views. if you need additional pillows, towels, etc., call the desk earlier in the day vs right when youre ready for bed as there will be a delay in getting the items to you. The property itself is nice and at 76 acres with hills, great for early morning walking to get your heart rate up.

The rooms were outdated and the sleeper couch was like sleeping on concrete but luckily I once my friends left, I was able to catch a few zs in the regular bed, which was very comfy. There was no internet, I think it was down and for some reason even my data service didnt want to work there but it was in a great spot, it was a pretty property. Its right by the beach, and the shuttle takes you over to crystal cove, which I loved! And it was 10-15 minutes to the SNA airport.

Well, I found a bug crawling out of the sink. Also, the people at the front desk were quite rude. It was my birthday weekend, and we requested the ocean view room, which they stated upon arrival was no longer available. Also, I found a toothpick on the floor in the kitchen. Perhaps the previous guest had their fill literally. Also, the toilet made funny noises saying swoosh and shhh. Then the man upstairs was making so much noise. I asked could I move my room, and they said we typically dont move a party to another room once they have checked in. For the love of whoever, please dont stay in the 1000 or 2000 villas for that matter. Please dont believe its a new property lie because it isnt. The thing I didnt like was you are very isolated, and there are no restaurants or bars on site, so you feel very landlocked. There was a small bar open at one of the pools, but it was super busy and closed at 5. You have to uber everywhere and that gets very expensive. There is a shuttle, which I did use once, but it stops at around 6.

Over the last few years, the quality of the resort has declined, immensely. Room requests are not honored, so I would highly recommend not buying into their space. Currently, this villa has no phone service, which I was told they knew, so there is no way to contact the concierge, without calling or texting, which is also a problem, as this is a known dead zone, per the manager. In addition to the actual room phones (not cellular), the wifi did not work. The ice maker is broken. The kitchen floor was disgusting, upon check-in, and the staff has consistently been incredibly unhelpful, if not totally apathetic. One particular front desk clerk was clearly sick, and while everyone on staff wore masks, his was around his chin, as he sneezed everywhere, while checking in guests. With two kids under two, and being stationed incredibly far from a main road, we requested a shuttle, twice. Neither ever showed. So, we parked closer to the villa, with two dozen open spots, and received two violation notices, as we are expected to park in the street, which is extremely far away, or the garage, which would be a good 20 minute hike, with the children. While I rented this week, we also own 2 weeks here, and 2 at their property in Hawaii. This is absolutely the worst stay, since we started coming here close to 20 years ago. If you have rooms which have broken appliances and you’re aware of wifi and service issues, do not book guests. It’s also incredibly hard to sell your weeks, should you want to cash out. Save your money and invest in something which actually pays dividends. The yearly maintenance fees alone would pay for an amazing vacation, so no need to buy into their pyramid time share “experience.”

We love Newport Coast Villas. Were timeshare owners of 5+ years and this resort is our favorite. The suites fit our needs perfectly - whether my wife and I come alone or bring friends and family (including grandkids). We just finished a week stay. The location of our requested villa changes according to what we want from the visit. Our request for a top floor has always been met by resort staff. We most recently stayed in the 1000 building, next to the pool that caters to families with small children, and were really happy with the easy access to the pool, fire pits, BBQs, and walking down to Crystal Cove. This trip we brought our e-bikes, which were a blast to ride around the area. We also love the view from the buildings near the upper pool and tennis courts. Resort staff are uniformly helpful and attentive to our needs.

There are a lot of fun activities and free transportation to beaches nearby. We had a negative experience with regards to the movie theater though. We were told it required reservations, and we made a reservation for four. The morning of our reservation, we received a call confirming our reservation. We really enjoyed our stay! It was our familys first trip during COVID. We loved the layout of the resort. It is very open and spacious. Each room was more like a condo with its own personal entrance. There were no elevators or crowded spaces to get to your room. Theres at least three pools on the grounds which made it very easy to find an area to swim that wasnt crowded. They also have other amenities such as tennis courts which had a lot of availability and no charge. My kids enjoyed looking at the beautiful fish in the koi pond. But, some things are closed, like the water slide area and the gym, but there was plenty to do and we enjoyed our three night stay.

BEWARE OF MARKETING OFFERINGS!!!A one rating was more than generous for this visit. We visited the resort on a $1K “marketing package” that was offered as we are original owner in the resort. While the resort is typically great, this visit set the mark for horrible room and support from guest services. The location of the room, 3734, is suitable for a storage closet as it has no view and sit next to all the buildings AC units so it close to impossible to have a conversation on the patio. The hotel grounds are great and the rooms are nice. It’s a little too spread out for our liking though. Kind of a pain to get to the pool and other facilities. Our porch was disappointing too. It was fenced in and small - like having a balcony.Our biggest issue was the vacation club (time share) presentation. The salesman was very condescending and became agitated when it was clear we weren’t interested. It really put a damper on our stay. By the time we were done, I wouldn’t have bought a glass of water from him if I was dying in the desert. The rest of the staff was great though.

There is a lot of charges for events that they hold that should be included in the cost. For example a charge for smore sticks for the event of cooking smores. Great rooms. Good staff. Crowded and hot tubs were always full of kids. Pools need better rules and better enforcement. Terrible happy hour. Reasonable parking. Huge gap under front door needed to be repaired. Lovely view of ocean. Good location to tourist attractions and restaurants. Not my favorite but I would come again.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. Didnt try the food but it is kid friendly. Multiple pool and hot tub options are great. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Its great to have a full kitchen and it is stocked with pots and pans, all kind of baking tools, blender and toaster. Included are activities, a small movie theater, spa and gym. Dont have to drive anyplace. Look forward to going back.

Beautifully appointed rooms, large enough for 4 adults and 1 baby to spread out. Great views from some areas. Keep in mind that you most likely wont see the ocean from your room unless you are on the 3rd floor of most buildings. Also, the plumbing is heard when upper units run showers, baths, etc. If you are a walker/runner, I loved my morning workout with the hills and stairs! The only real interaction we had with staff was at check-in, quite friendly all around.

However our view from the balcony was just the rooftops of neighboring buildings, the ocean was way further away from where we were then what the pictures implied. It wasnt easy to walk to the hotspots, the swimming pool was a long walk, the restaurant was a long walk and anywhere else we wanted to go within the resort we would have needed to drive

Room was not ready upon arrival, and despite Ambassador status with Marriott, we were told it would take 4+ hours to clean the room we had reserved. Staff was not hospitable or accommodating, and told us that the unit owners were always given priority over hotel guests. We asked several times to speak to the manager before our request was finally accommodated, however, she offered no solutions and continued to reiterate that there was nothing she could offer us and our room would “be ready when it was ready.” Be aware, if you are staying as a hotel guest and not an owner, even if you have earned status with Marriott, you will not receive proper service. Bathrooms were also completely out of service, only the downstairs woman’s locker room was available (which requires a keycard, which we were not given). Very frustrating experience that put a serious damper on our trip.

They claim they have no top floor rooms ever, even though they offer it to others (or they might just be racist since we were the only diverse customers here)2. I asked to switch a room because the one I was in was downstairs, not accessible and dusty. This resort is gorgeous. The expansive grounds are well-maintained and a relaxing place to enjoy a sunset. The rooms are a great size for large families. There are tons of activities for kids. The only downside is that it is not really walking distance to anything. You can walk to the Beachcomber Restaurant, but it is quite a hike to get back up to the resort.

My family vacations here frequently though it was my second time staying here. This time, all nephews were in tow. I have to say it was wonderfully accommodating. The resort was just as good as last visit. Clean, friendly service, great activities/features, and heck the food is pretty decent too. Parking was always easy as well. I will say that I wish their beach shuttle ran more frequently. Anyway, highly recommend!

Loved this place the first time. Second visit here, my one year old picked up 2 Benadryl and a used band aid that was sitting in the middle of the room. There were also old fries, a kids sock and some chewed up goldfish. Obviously very clean. Won’t be returning.

Loved the resort and location my only two issues were:. Room wasnt ready for 2 hours after promised. The other issue is grill area. A few grills would not light and never saw anyone come and sanitize tables. Should have sanitation items available in the area for people to use. We had a great stay.

Marriotts Newport Coast Villas are like a Italian designed luxury community. The architecture is exquisite and the grounds are beautifully groomed. You will feel like you entered an Italian village as you find your personal villa and get settled for a great vacation. There are 4 pools nestled among sections of villas. The pool areas all have large hot tubs also. A couple of years ago they built the 4th pool area and included slides which is a fun edition. We ordered lunch while at the main pool by the lobby. If you’re a fry lover you will be happy with the amount of fries you receive with your orders. All of the staff we’ve encountered have been exceptional. They have several activites in place for all ages. My grandkids enjoyed making Tie dye shirts, loved the Ice cream sundaes, there are several movie choices, then s’mores outside our entire family was able to enjoy. Large grass area was enjoyed by many playing basketball. Miniature golf and more. In the lobby there is a beautiful view of the ocean, make sure you check it out. Villas are a great size. Come with washer and dryers, garden tub in the master along with a large spacious shower and comfy beds. We loved staying here and will return sometime soon.

This was an amazing resort! Our Villa was a 2 bedroom 2 bath with a living room and kitchen. It felt like an apartment. We did not have an ocean view room, but it was okay because we were mostly at the pool. Very clean room and well maintained grounds. The pools were huge and heated at night. Where were tons of activities for the kids. They had bingo, water aerobics and even a painting class. There is a shuttle that comes every hour to go to the beach that is 5 minutes away. There is also a Trader Joes near by if you wanted to stock up on food or cook in the room. Would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed here several times. Its one of our favorite Marriott properties. Clean, updated rooms with good living space. Nice bathrooms. Kitchen has a nice layout. Lots of fun things for kids to do. Good pools. Great beaches nearby. Excellent views. Outdoor grills, playgrounds, a sport court, Golf, tennis. Its a great Marriott resort. It is set on a hill. So if you dont like walking, it may be a deterrent, although they have shuttles that go around the resort.

Beautiful resort with awesome views. The staff is very accommodating to people with allergies. The activities for kids through out the day are wonderful and my daughter enjoyed them immensely. Very relaxing to stay here and nice to just hang out on the grounds.The salt water pool was great to just relax and hang out in. If you need reliable wifi this is not the place to stay, my husband and I both need to video call clients and were not able to do that here, we spoke with 3rd party internet provider, the general manager and other people at the front desk, the general manager talked really fast and said internet was a “free” perk and that we should be grateful for it working, there should be no expectation of it working, and that we could conduct our meetings in the lobby of the hotel. We also found a dead rat in the walkway, and while it was cleaned its intestines remained for some time. Our family had 2, 2 bedroom condos and spending hours on the phone, with no working internet put a damper on our trip and make us question returning here.

Ive never had an encounter with staff that wasnt friendly and helpful. There are a variety of activities to participate in at the resort and its just a short drive from other local attractions that are well worth a visit.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We noticed the floor in our room was wet even though we had been out all day. They put down a bunch of towels and said there was a pipe issue and they’d move us in the morning. I couldn’t shower or bathe that night. The next day they had us move into an ADA room which had a broken door, a broken microwave, far less superior quality of a room, and no ocean view that the other room had. Someone was supposed to call me to comp but when I talked to them they said the best they could do was offer $100 credit on the room, even though I paid $440 a night. There’s a reason it only has 3 stars on Yelp. Terrible customer service.

This property is a standout among Marriotts hotels.We loved every moment of our time spent here, and hated to leave!The entire property is exceptionally clean. Our apartment was AMAZING and super spacious. We even had plenty of room to erect a Christmas tree for our two children. The pool was heated, so our children were able to swim on Christmas night-a huge plus. There were plenty of planned, staff-led activities for the children, as well. We took long walks around the property each morning, played beach volleyball, basketball, and more. There was never a dull moment!The staff was kind and warm, which I appreciate. Id love to make staying here for Christmas a tradition, but the hotel is booked for Christmas 2018. We will visit again as soon as we can.

Loving it. NEWPORT BEACH, CA. Family fun. Several buildings ( for example, 3000-3100) have ocean views. Very clean and convenient rooms. No toxic odors. Two middle sized bedrooms with respective shower rooms; fully equipped kitchen, three huge TV. Very smart, too. You can easily connect to your own account on Prime videos. Coffee is delicious. Service extraordinary. It makes me smile to hear their phone message: “Welcome to Newport Coast Villas where your dreams come true!” Google knows my dreams, that’s a fact. Them too?Three different locations for pools n hot tubs. Canyon, coast and Central locations. Spa ( massage starts at $120). You can rent bikes. There is also a cute tourist bus that takes you up and down the coast.Up the hill ( East) you can find a grocery store. Well, very pricey and not fresh produce. Next time we shall skip it.We were very satisfied with our stay. Third time was a charm.
