This apartment complex is a dream! Everyone in the leasing office is kind and helpful. Markeshas friendliness and patience was very appreciated when she helped us view the apartments several times while we were deciding, providing great information and always on time! Arturo and the maintenance staff are so nice and helpful. Arturo came to fix a few things as soon as we moved in. He fixed a door that wouldnt close, and explained everything that he would do, and he did a thorough job both fixing and repainting our doors. Now everything works great and he is always friendly and makes himself available for all requests. Love it here!

Have been here for almost a month and have had the best experience from finding a home and living here. This place is truly like a resort. Everyone who works here is the best! They treat everyone very kindly and with respect and give great attention to detail. I have had no problems with the move in process and living here so far. Everyone is so kind and helpful! The building also tries to promote a community which is very awesome. The other people who live in the community are also very friendly. So happy with my choice.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. This management company and complex do not care about the safety of tenants or their belongings. The package room was shut down completely with no real solution in place. Every single day more and more packages are left outside, visible from the street. Crime will increase inevitably, endangering every single resident. Not to mention how many packages are lost and stolen. They completely scammed each person who lives here by doing this. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

Fantastic managment and excellent location make it a dream to live here. This secure gated community is located just a few blocks from the beach and a few blocks from LAX in a relatively unknown part of LA that is extremely walkable which is rare for Los Angeles. Apartments have been recently beautifully rennovated and there are top notch ammenities - pool/hotub, gym, lounge decks and private dog park. The property is meticulously maintained and the management team is very responsive to all concerns. The community itself is calm and quiet. Highly recommend!

Nice location, okay apartments, decent pool... terrible management.The building recently got rid of its central mailroom, and the front office refuses to accept packages. This leaves delivery services to DUMP packages out in the open, for anyone walking by to steal. Its a serious problem. Tenants have raised the issue with management, complained, called the corporate office... and yet, they refuse to do anything. Its an absolute disaster. Certainly not the kind of situation you pay for in a luxury complex. Honestly, theres nothing luxury about this place. Its mediocre. Youre paying for the location... and even that, feels overpriced.Aside from the package room fiasco, getting any help from management is a chore at best. I recommend looking elsewhere until they can improve in this area.UPDATE: The owner responded saying that there have only been two incidences and the management team is happy to help. However, that IS NOT the case. Since posting this, there have been several more incidences. Myself and other tenants have reported them to the management, and they either blow you off, or do not respond at all. This situation has gotten worse, not better. I feel obligated to warn everyone to avoid this property due to the poor management.

Three words: security deposit fraud. If you are foolish or desperate enough to move into Mariposa or any Equity Residential property, please follow these exact steps to save yourself from what is surely a security deposit scheme that the common person is unable to properly contest in court. Hopefully someday Equity Residential is exposed but until then, maybe this review will help prevent their malfeasance.1. Make sure to take pictures when you first move in. You will be excited about your new apartment and not think to do this but these will be key when moving out as Mariposa prepares to illegally use your security deposit to cover cleaning, painting, and carpet charges.2. Two weeks before you move out, they send maintenance for a Condition Of Premises Inspection. They walk around for less than 5 minutes and ultimately write that the entire apartment needs cleaning, painting, and carpeting (in applicable units). Per the lease agreement, the apartment must be left in the condition it was in when you moved in, less regular wear and tear. The problem is, Mariposa does not follow regular wear and tear. During this inspection, even if all you have is regular wear and tear (such as a few nail holes, carpet faded or thin, faded paint, etc.), Mariposa will still use your security deposit for cleaning, painting, and carpet replacement/cleaning fees. This is a true abuse of power. We lived in our last unit for one year and are clean people - we dont have pets, nothing was broken, no burn marks, rips, tears in the carpet - nothing that constitutes the full cleaning, painting and and certainly not the full carpet replacement that we were charged. We were charged over $300 for paint, $160 for cleaning, and $400 for a carpet replacement. Insane.3. Weeks before you move out, ask the management for paint color info for your apartment and patch holes/paint trouble spots yourself. Per ordinary wear and tear, you shouldnt have to do this but Mariposa will try to screw you and you will end up paying far more in painting charges from your security deposit than you would for a $5 can of paint and spackle.4. If you can, give yourself an extra day after the move out to go back in and clean as best you can. Take pictures after the fact. These, along with the pictures you take when you move in, are the only way to truly try and fight against the fraudulent security deposit charges. Most people dont build in an extra day after they move because schedules dont allow it which is how Mariposa gets away with this but this is vital so that you have the evidence to fight back when Mariposa ultimately still uses your security deposit for cleaning, painting, and carpet charges.

Love living at Mariposa! The maintenance team and leasing team are great. I particularly had a wonderful experience with Arturo. I transferred into a new apartment and they’ve been on it— from fixing my water heater to fixing a leak under the sink—within a matter of hours. It’s been a great peace of mind knowing they’re so responsive and care!

Great apartments besides smoke alarms. They are unacceptable. If you cook they will go off. Potatoes baking in the oven? Your family’s ear drums will be blown out. How about sautéing veggies on the stove? No more hearing for you!

If you are considering living at Mariposa, please reconsider. You’ll notice most of the good reviews are from people who recently moved in and haven’t yet experienced the unavoidable and inevitable issues of this place. My girlfriend lived in this complex and there were constant building maintenance issues, mail theft, car theft, and a lack of communication or accountability from the staff. The move out charges were insane and she lost all of her security deposit over completely minor issues. You’re better off saving your money and living in one of the many homeless trailers that line the block outside of Mariposa. Best of luck!

My wife and I noticed a gas leak smell on a Friday evening and Arturo V. came by to find the leak and fixed it! He was also able to fix our dryer as well which we were having issues with.He is extremely friendly and helpful, we are grateful to have him here for whenever we need something fixed!

HORRIBLE!! I never write reviews, so this is how appalled I am with Mariposa and hopefully someone will get this warning. Over $3,000 a month for a small one bedroom on the top floor. No view or anything. If your unit faces west, you deal with the motorhomes running generators all night. If you face east, there is a huge yellow wall and the dog park, so barking dogs or people yelling at their dogs to stop barking. If you face north, you get like zero natural sunlight. The only decent side is south facing, however you face LAX, so planes. Laminate cupboards are peeling. Elevator was broke down for a month, so carrying groceries and such, up 4 flights of stairs. Several times the fire alarms went off in the middle of the night, for no reason. Every door for the stairwells slam VERY hard and actually rattle the walls. The drain for the AC condensation is over the tub and drips rusty water into the tub, stains it orange and drips on you while taking a shower. The water also quickly develops this nasty black gooey mildew that clogs the faucets. Someone broke my lock to my truck trying to break in, in the gated and guarded parking garage. They said there is nothing they could do because there is only one security camera that only faces the elevator. They have issues with mail getting stolen and 3 times my paycheck went missing. You live right next to LAX also, so hearing planes take off every minute. When they perform a move out inspection, they will say the apartment needs to be cleaned, even if you hire a professional cleaning company to clean every inch, just to keep your deposit. After reading the bad reviews, I am not going to bother bringing in a cleaning company because I am confident I will not see my deposit back, even if I leave it better than I moved in. I purposely didnt hang anything on the wall to not have holes, but I am sure they will charge paint. When I moved in, the carpet was musky and smelled of pets. They probably charged the previous tenant carpet replacement and did not replace it. There are some tenants that will leave trash bags outside their door because they are too lazy to walk to the garbage chute. Not my definition of luxury. If you need to break the lease, even in an emergency situation, they will charge 2 months rent, on top of what you owe for that month, so breaking the lease is gonna cost upwards of $9k. I gave them 20 days notice to vacate, instead of the required 30, and they are charging me $1,500 for insufficient notice, on top of 21 days worth of rent (vacating on 21st). If you pay your rent even a day or two late, they charge a late fee of like over $100, while most places give a grace period. Please be aware of this ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!! I actually found a place in Long Beach for $1,000 less for a 2 bedroom with a view. I noticed most of the good reviews are for maintenance, which I will admit is pretty good and quick. It is someones job to write replies to these reviews saying how sorry they are for a bad experience. All lies! They arent sorry and they absolutely DO NOT CARE about you.. Only your money.

Just reached my first 30 days in this complex. Markesha is GREAT and made moving in a smooth and easy transition for me. The entire leasing team has been a pleasure to work with so far as well. One of the most dog friendly buildings Ive ever lived in. Also- you cant beat the location. 6 minutes to LAX, short walk to the beach. Neighborhood is pretty quiet for the most part. Highly recommend.

Everyone in the leasing office was so sweet! Service team was on top of everything with our maintenance request. My roommates mailbox key didnt work the first time using it, and they fixed it that same day. Our fur babies love the dog park in the back. The community is very clean and we absolutely love the pool. Overall, my roommate and I love living at mariposa. Staff and neighbors are all really friendly and make it very homey!

Terrible experience, filth and issues at every turn.Weve had an awful experience with this Apartment Complex. The gym has been closed for two weeks now, and they do not clean the surrounding area. There is constant renovation going on, which creates a lot of inconvenience. The elevators are not working, and the garage is just filthy. Moreover, mail is consistently being stolen. The workers who are employed here just roam around in groups, smoking and eating. The bills keep increasing, and the overall atmosphere is simply terrible. I do not recommend dealing with this Company.

I have been living in this apartment building for a while now and unfortunately, I have noticed several issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, the cleanliness of the building is not up to standard, as I have noticed trash and debris in the common areas that have not been cleaned for some time. Additionally, the gym has been closed for an extended period of time, which is disappointing as it was one of the amenities that attracted me to this building in the first place. Lastly, there have been ongoing renovation projects that have caused noise and disruption, and it seems like these could have been completed much more quickly than they have been.I believe that these issues should be addressed as soon as possible, as they impact the quality of life for residents and can cause frustration and dissatisfaction. I would appreciate it if management could take action to improve these aspects of the building and make it a more comfortable and enjoyable place to live.

Mariposa at Playa del Rey is a phenomenal place to live! We have lived here for almost 3 years and I have virtually zero complaints! The office staff, Jennifer, Blanca, Emily, & Enjoli are all so friendly and extremely helpful! They go above and beyond to make sure the residents feel heard, safe, and enjoy where they live. The service team has also been amazing! They are very prompt with completing service requests and are always so respectful! The team did a fantastic job navigating the pandemic and all of the changing protocols. In addition there are amazing facilities, the pool is beautiful and maintained! The gym has a large selection of equipment so you can really change up what youre doing! In addition they are so dog friendly, the dog park is an amazing resource to have for a quick burst of energy! I would highly recommend living here to anybody looking!

Jennifer Mix was so easy to work with and they helped us moving out. Would recommend this place to any individual. As a real estate professional I can say they have all of their ducks in a line and made it easy and seamless. Customer service is on point. Thanks Jennifer!Also we had a plumbing issue that was nothing we could control and the emergency service responded right away.Yes they had an issue with a person getting into the mailbox but responded immediately. Also the package issues on Google here come with any large apartment, sometimes it’s on the people delivering the packages itself and not management. Would recommend people to have important packages sent with signature requirement for places like this.Again 5/5 on service and living here, would recommend this place over the other class A apartments in playa Del Rey.

Mariposa has been fantastic. Loved living here. Great location, clean, and Rafael and his entire maintenance team are amazing! Any service request done through the portal was on time and done well. Leasing agents are super helpful and responsive unlike most apartment communities. Didn’t want to leave but had to leave the LA area. I was a tenant for 6 years so know this complex well. The office staff are extremely supportive and helpful to any and all needs which makes a world of difference in apartment living. The maintenance and grounds team are also very diligent and prompt.The apartments are spacious and very well insulated. I never heard my neighbors through the wall just in shared corridors.From a cost perspective its not affordable to everyone and you will likely get rate increases annually, but that comes with the territory in this coveted area of Los Angeles. Very accessible to freeways and LAX.I very much enjoyed my time living at Mariposa.

I moved to Mariposa at Playa Del Rey over two months ago. I was coming from a house in another state and it was the first time I have been in an apartment for years.From the start, working with Blanca and Jennifer on the leasing team, to now living here, my experience has been awesome! The leasing team have been patient and have accommodated my needs all along the way to make it a seamless transition to my new California home.Besides the leasing team, the maintenance team, with Miguel Lopez has been exceptional. Miguel, along with the maintenance team, are extremely busy making sure the development is running perfectly and a couple of times I have stopped Miguel to ask a question and he stops what he is doing and patiently answers my questions like I am the only resident and then gets on the issue immediately.The combination of a wonderful leasing and maintenance team make Mariposa at Playa Del Rey a winning choice to call home.

Best part is the pool. The landscaping is well maintained and lovely. Appreciate it every day. The maintenance guys Miguel, Jessie and Ignacio are the best. They do all the repairs ASAP. I lived here from Feb 2018 through Sept 2019 and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The apartment is beautiful, the people (staff and tenants) are friendly, the beach is close, plenty of places to go walking distance, wonderful lap-lane pool, and a HUGE dog park! As a dog owner, the dog park is a tremendous perk. I think I only needed maintenance once or twice, but there were no issues with a quick response.

My fiancé and I moved to Mariposa in the middle of the pandemic, August 2020, from New York City. We had to tour the complex virtually and took a leap of faith on moving here. When we first arrived, coming from NYC, we were so excited with the extra amenities and friendly staff. Fast forward a year and a half later and things have shifted. I would like to point out that Mariposa is advertised as a luxury complex. However, since being here its become more of just a very large complex. What I mean by that is for example, one of the main elevators has been out of commission for over four months. When we first moved here there was a package room that was only accessible with a code when you received a package. It was crowded at times but worked great. During the pandemic Mariposa completely got rid of the package room with no replacement solution. Our packages are now regularly left outside of the gates so anyone can take them. My fiancé and I have had packages stolen and our mailbox broken into during this time. We have friends and neighbors in the complex who have had their belongings stolen as well. Most recently some cars have been broken into. My motorcycle was tampered with and even more extreme my neighbor just had his gas tank drilled into costing thousands to fix. This happened to someone else in the garage and once they fixed it, it happened again. Keep in mind these cars are in a gated parking garage. The front office continues NOT to accept and acknowledge that cameras are needed along with more security. Again, I know that times are tough and crime is happening all over the country but dont market yourself as a luxury apartment complex with higher prices and not provide the bare minimum (package room, a safe place to park your car). The location is amazing and this could be a wonderful place to live if upper management and corporate werent just concerned about getting dissatisfied tenants out and replacing them with new bright eyed people who are tricked by the seemingly wonderful environment. I hope this review helps paint a more accurate picture of some of the struggles we have had to deal with with little to no support. Needless to say, I have been on Zillow almost everyday looking forward to moving somewhere that prioritizes and listens to us.Cheers

After living here for almost 2 years I have to warn anyone thinking of moving here about the endless thefts and breaking ins that happen in the secured garage. I had 2 bikes stolen and from another one parts of it. The secure bike locker room also got broken in. My roomates car got broken in 2 times and I hear from many other tenants the same story. You can even read about it on the community app. Management refuses to care about the safety of our belongings and many requests for at least a couple security cameras are always politely ignored. I have never lived in a place with such a high theft rate. Dont be fooled by the pool and nice appearance of management. I certainly was as you can see from my original review.Just moved in a couple weeks ago. The ladies in the leasing office made the move in very easy. Very helpful and responsive. A couple things in the apartment werent working correctly but were repaired by facilities in no time. I love all the amenities like the huge pool, jacuzzi and gym. Lots of people have dogs and I love that (Im currently not a dog owner). Also enjoy my 10 mins daily morning walk to the beach.

My home, mariposa is one of the best residential community’s in California and is second to none. I have friends who live in oceanfront buildings in marina del ray and Santa Monica and just don’t hold a candle to my lovely building. Very safe and secure and minuets from the beach. The most amazing city and people I have ever been lucky enough to be apart of. Apartments are big and really lux. The amenities are great, gym pool and jacuzzi plus the food trucks are awesome. The best part is the staff. They are all amazing and really helpful and always go above and beyond.If I could give mariposa 6 stars I would.

Terrible management, homelessness/crime-ridden area (car break-ins, mail stolen, building gates not secure, etc.), faulty fire alarms, and last but not least: you are guaranteed to lose most if not all of your security deposit due to fraudulent, unjust move out costs that absolutely abuse what should be covered legally under ordinary wear and tear. If you do have an issue with your security deposit, good luck discussing these charges with Jennifer Mix and her management team. I tried for three weeks after receiving our move out charges and was continuously ignored (both via phone and email) until I gave up. A more patient and affluent person would take Mariposa/Equity to small claims court to fight their insane cleaning, painting, and carpet replacement charges but as is likely often the case, nobody has the time nor resources for that. If management ends up commenting on this, just remember that they ignored me for weeks and will only do so to try and save face. Trust the majority of the reviews on here and dont make the same mistake I made. Save yourself the time (and money) and look elsewhere.

Our ice maker was not working. Ignacio came as soon as he could and installed a new one. He took care in cleaning up and leaving no trace of his work area. This is the second time Ive lived in this complex and have to say its gotten better since 2014. I worked with Kennia to pick my apartment and go through the application process. Kennia was very accommodating and helpful while being about the nicest person you could meet. I had a few items that needed repairing, nothing major just high use items that needed some updating and thats where I met Herbie. Hes in charge of the maintenance team and no BS hes got them on top of their game. Herbie while being a very cool dude also makes sure his tenants apartments are well taken care of. He send Rudy over more than once to take care of issues as they popped up. Rudy is also a very cool guy and when he says hes on top of getting something fixed, he means it 100%. Every time he communicated with me on timelines for repairs, parts order status and when he came to my apartment was very careful and tentative. Hes everything you could ask for in a operations guy. Proficient, professional and a cool guy. Eduardo also chipped in on a repair and he is cut from the same fine cloth. Good dude and good at his job.Overall Mariposa is run like a well oiled machine and I could not say enough positive things about the staff making you feel like you are home.

My fiancé and I have been living at Mariposa for just about a year. It has always been a dream of mine to live walking distance from the beach. This apartment complex has become our home and we have absolutely enjoyed living here.Our apartment was fully renovated and had a complete make over just before we moved in. We love our beautiful porch that has a nice view of the courtyard. The apartments amenities are what stand out in my opinion. The Olympic size pool along with the spa. Everyone in this community is polite and we always feel safe. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. Blanca has been a joy to work with along with many of the other staff members.The only improvements I would suggest would be the internet can tend to be slow at times. Living in this area you have to expect to pay a decent amount if you want to feel at home with the extra amenities. Other than that we are so happy in our home.

There are challenges in living in any large apartment complex owned by a big management company. BUT, despite peoples complaints, I really enjoy living here. Rent in the area is going up. Bottom line. It is not the managements fault. This is an up and coming area near in beach in L.A. So no, its not cheap. But go next door to the Marina or Playa Vista and rent will be even higher. This is a great place for dog owners especially. Beautiful, enormous fenced in yard with plenty of space for my doberman to romp around. I had a really hard time finding a place that would allow my two dogs without a headache- nothing else like it Ive seen in L.A. People are amazed when they see our dog run. Newly renovated apartments, big beautiful pool. I took off one star because of recent issue with packages not getting delivered and UPS, but the otherwise the office has been very accommodating with me and some different circumstances. Charges can be high when you move out, they expect you to leave it in excellent condition so dont expect much of your deposit back in that regard. In regards to management, Sabrina in the front office is very sweet and helpful and the maintenance guys are all friendly. Any place will have its drawbacks, but overall I really enjoy living here, the amenities, and will live here as long as I can afford it!

I have had an extremely positive experience living here. The apartment layouts are cozy yet spacious. They come with built-in shelving inside the closets and have plenty of storage space.The kitchen is probably the best part. There are a lot of cabinets as well as a lot of counter space. The counters are stone and make the kitchen really pop. All of the appliances are great. It has a gas stove, which is pretty rare for this area! The dishwasher has multiple levels of water jets and I have never had an issue with getting things clean.The in-unit washer and dryer are similarly impressive.Despite being near the airport, I have never had an issue with airplane noise. The double paned windows are great for that.

This place is the jam! I transferred from an older equity property in the burbs so I’m happy to be back on the west side and in a newer property. I mean, have you seen the pool? Are we living in a resort in Cabo? And since my doggie is my child, the dog run is a huge bonus.I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff here. When choosing a place to live, the leasing professionals and manager are as important as the layout and amenities. This place is perfect for my needs from the location to the floor plan to the amenities. And did I mention food truck Wednesdays? The amneties are nice. Ive used the hot tub and pool several times. They just recently added a brand new heater for the pool so thats great. If maintenance is performed in the building, you get email updates and will be informed in a timely fashion. Requested Maintenance jobs are also completed speedily.Small improvements could be made considering the amount residents pay for rent, such as: deadbolts on front doors (your renters insurance will be discounted, plus its an added safety measure), mirrors in the corners of the parking garages when turning, windows towards the street side should be updated in my opinion (it does get noisy). I have a street facing apartment though right under a bus stop, so there goes that ... Apartments facing the other side wouldnt have that issue. The paint job in my apartment was sloppy and I assume done in a rush as they didnt clean up edges on the ceiling. However, I was added as a roommate and hence couldnt point that out before moving in (so I doubt that management is aware). These are minor things Ive noticed though and not deal breakers.The internet is decent speed ( you can use Netflix etc without any issues). Mail and packages get delivered promptly and accurately -- seeing as those were complains in previous reviews, I figure that they have listened to those suggestions and greatly improved from previous situations.Management and the leasing office are definitely working with you regarding issues, but its also important to keep in mind that youre not the only resident and these ladies do get swamped at times. I was always able to get a hold of someone though :)The rooms in my apartment receive enough sunlight and feel open and airy and its overall a nice setup. The apartments have IN-unit laundry and dryers, which is great. Dishwasher and other appliances work properly. They are not luxury appliances, but they are in decent shape and work well.Overall the complex is well kept. Its really close to the beach and close to LAX ($16 Uber ride during peak times). The best part for me is that I have several different route options to get to my destinations, depending on traffic. I dont have to take 405 or the 10 to get somewhere, but there are cross streets and shortcuts that make driving less of a hassle (one of the main reasons why I moved from Santa Monica). The beach isnt overly crowded and downtown playa has a post office, cute coffee shops, and restaurants etc.Overall I recommend Mariposa.

In the office Maressa Morgan will take excellent care of you, she is a caring professional and pays close attention to detail. We love it here. The cost of living in this area is high. So yes, it is flipping expensive to live around here. But if you do any type of house hunting you will find most apartments have ON SITE LAUNDRY, crappy views, are old buildings, and have issues. There is always going to be issues when it comes to apartment living. You dont get to pick out the quality of the cabinets, the flooring, or the view necessarily. I have friends who live in another apartment complex and their view is another building. Thats what happens when you live in such a highly populated area. If you have applied here, you should have had a walk through were you can see you view, the kitchen, the lighting. AND YOU HAVE A 30 DAY MOVE OUT POLICY. Considering that the beach is .7 miles away, there is a park .4 miles away, the pool and hot tub is open until 10pm every night, and I have in home laundry is a great thing, If you want to pay under $2,000 a month, chance are its gonna be a crap apartment, with on-site laundry that you share with everyone else, and less than 1,000 sq feet. We house hunted for 4 months before we moved here and chose this place, we had a walk-through where we inspected the unit. It is ridiculous to believe that you will move into a place and not have issues, especially with a compound as big as this one. ANY issues we have had, we have talked to the management about FACE TO FACE and they have done all they could to correct it. Plus most of the other reviews are like 5 yrs old.

I have had ups and downs living here but in general my family and I love it. As some have mentioned, that issues with internet and cable being at the top of the list. I absolutely hate the internet company they currently have but the speed is fast. If I could change anything it would be that company. The previous one had horrible stability but great customer service. This one has decent stability and fast speed but nightmarish service. The thing that makes it palatable is that the staff at Mariposa step up to help when there are issues.Now going on to the rest of the place. The grounds are nicely kept up, the location is great being very close to the beach and I love my neighbors. The staff, for the most part,is exceedingly helpful especially the maintenance guys. Chris, Ignacio and Rudy are by far my favorite people to have ever dealt with at any property I have been to. Even my mom who lives close to 3000 miles away and has been on Facetime when we had maintenance issues, loves Chris.Kennia, the property manager is always helpful and goes far beyond what a property manager should ever be expected to. She is straight to the point yet friendly, always. Even when being confronted by upset tenants.The new night time security guard is effin incredible as we had an issue with a noise problem on the roof but couldnt pinpoint it. He went beyond what was expected and helped me discover what was going on (ended up being teens, so nothing nefarious) but its just the icing on top when the security guard actually takes his job seriously.The prices are fair and around market value. You get some people griping about the high cost of living but thats par for this area. The amenities including pool area and gym are well maintained.All in all barring some issues with the internet company, its a great place to live.

I am giving 2 stars. The community is beautiful, location is great, and I really love the upstairs patio terrace overlooking the pool and the Wednesday food trucks. HOWEVER, the team here does not care AT ALL about your problems. The biggest problem by far is Car Theft. In the last year, we had over TEN (10) incidents of car break ins, bike theft, mail theft, and more. Every time management says We are working on adding cameras but not once has a camera been added. What a joke! My car was broken into yesterday and over $3,000 was stolen. In short, beautiful community but the chances of you having your car broken into is super high and they will refuse to spend $1000 on a camera to protect you.

I just renewed for a third year at Mariposa at Playa del Rey. I previously lived at an Equity Residential property in nearby Marina del Rey for 5+ years. Both experiences were very good, but I can honestly say I found a home at Mariposa in Playa del Rey. The grounds are beautiful and my unit far exceeds others on the market in this neighborhood/area. I also love that this is a pet friendly community where all residents - both human and furry - feel at home. The current management and team are exceptional. Linda, the Community Manager, is very welcoming and warm, and I absolutely love working with Maressa -- shes phenomenal and always goes above and beyond to deliver the best possible service to residents! The new management of this complex is abysmal. They are only concerned with bringing in new costumers. Your value to the front office vanishes as soon as you sign a lease.Let me provide a few examples.1. You cannot receive packages unless you are in your apartment at the time of delivery. My roommate came out to his car doors and hood wide open this morning, and things missing out of his car (again). Our experience here wasnt that great for the past year. The internet goes out constantly and they dont offer any options or compensation for such issues. So, if you work from home, have a back up place to work when the internet fails. The building alarms go off a lot - they went off for hours over the course a few days. The smoke alarms in the unit are super sensitive - so if you have a tiny bit of smoke while cooking then prepare for that. The maintenance people dont come when they say they will and when they do, theyve never been helpful for us (weve had broken A/C since we moved in a year ago - it leaks large amounts of water into the carpet). The parking garage gate was open for over 4 months, so the parking/building wasnt secure. My guests car was stolen from the garage and they were not helpful and their security cameras dont work - at least thats what I was told and it took them 2 weeks to come to that conclusion. I tried posting some flyers around the building to warn other residents of the stolen car but the staff quickly removed those. When the garage gate was open for months, all of the secure entries to our building also broke and the building was accessible to anyone off the street. Which is frustrating when youre paying more to live in a secure building. Some positive things I can say are: the food trucks that come on Wednesdays are good and convenient, its close to the beach and the office staff on site is friendly. Otherwise, its overpriced for subpar service and lack of promised amenities. This is a review for building 6.

BEWARE. While this apartment has great amenities it is extremely overpriced when you consider the following factors:1)It is nearly impossible to get packages delivered. The post office in venice has an entire section for packages that cant be delivered due to disagreements with property management. When discussing this with management they simply give the same excuses.2) Your only choice for internet/tv is consolidated smart systems. Be prepared to overpay for extremely poor internet service.3) Increased crime in the apartment building and managements complete lack of action. In the past few months there have been several break ins and stolen property (including vehichles)! Managements response to residents concerns is that you park at your own risk! Worst of all a member of their staff has been arrested in connection with recent crimes and thefts on the building.5) You can not count on management for anything. Having a problem with your neighbors second hand smoke getting into your apartment and irritating your asthma when you live in a smoke free apartment dont count on management to do anything.6) Elevators stop working at least once a month.7) The fire alarm randomly goes off at least once every week or so, often late at night. Honestly this is a major safety concern as management never notifies residents that the alarm malfunctioned (probably because it happens so often). The firealarms are pretty much useless at this point.Honestly I loved this apartment when I first moved here. However in the past half year this place had really taken a turn for the worse. No it is not the worst place you can live but for the premium rent you pay here you expect certain things, especially safety and being able to get mail delivered. Definitely not worth the price or hassle.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! They will raise your rent after your yearly lease is up. The dog park is a NIGHTMARE! If your dog gets aggressive with another dog they have the right make you either leave your apartment (you pay to break your lease) OR you have to get rid of your dog. It is not monitored and full of dog poop. There is always dog poop throughout the complexs grounds (so hope you enjoy the smell of pee and poo). Also, if you have an issue or just need to contact management, you will have to call 3-6 times and still probably wont speak to anyone. They use caller ID so they can screen your call. If you leave a message, they will not call you back.

I have lived at Mariposa for almost 3 years and cant say enough about how beautiful the community, and Playa Del Rey is! Its truly a hiddden gem. This is as close as you will get to suburb living on the west side. Very centrally located to MDR, Playa Vista and LAX, but far enough away for your peace and sanity. Also the beach is just a 10-15 min walk away. Cant beat that for the price! The office staff is hands down the best part about living here. You can depend on Blanca, Enjoli and Emily to be there. If you like having reliable, fast internet, OR wish to get your packages delivered in a timely manner, DO NOT LIVE HERE.A year ago, just the Consolidated Smart Systems internet would be my biggest complaint (very spotty and customer service is terrible - and this is your only choice of internet) but since theyve switched management to Equity, the package delivery system has been ABYSMAL. The office used to accept all deliveries in their office so you didnt need to worry about where you package was. Now, theyve stopped doing that so all mail carriers essentially refuse to deliver your mail and you need to go to the post office in Venice (only open 9-5 on weekdays when most normal people are working) or try your luck with scheduling a re-delivery (took me over a week once to get a package). Office really is no help when trying to get your packages delivered to you.The office also does not answer their phones at all, you always need to leave a voice mail and hope they call you back. Email also doesnt seem to work to get a response from them. Customer service should be of their highest priority here, but it just doesnt seem to be.

I want to thank Ignacio G., a member of the service team here at Mariposa apts, for his excellent service when I experienced a fire alarm going off in my apartment. He promptly arrived on the scene, immediately diagnosed the problem with the existing smoke detectors and got everything in order much to our relief. All the while he was very personable and understanding of our distress. Ignacio earned the above and beyond 5 stars as he also fixed a broken door in the apartment right on the spot and then without me asking checked other doors, noticed a problem and fixed it as well. I really appreciate great service and wanted to make sure his proactive nature and caring that those living here have a great experience was evident throughout his visit.
