I don’t normally write reviews but this stay was an abnormally bad experience for us.When we got to the room late on our first night we found all of our pillows were terrible. It felt like tennis balls in a pillowcase, the cotton had gotten balled up and was very hard.The next day we called to ask about pool hours because the website showed the hotel had a pool. The person at the front desk said “we didn’t have a pool.” We were able to find the pool later that day but it was padlocked shut, not sure if it’s just out of season (we went in late may) or they are getting rid of it.The next night we decided to call and ask for more pillows. The front desk told us “we are out of pillows.” Made me wonder if everyone had an issue with the pillows. We ended up going to target and buying pillows and pillowcases to get a good nights sleep.Besides those issues it was as expected for a room in the price range. Relatively clean but in need of repairs and touch ups in some areas, paint peeling, loose fixtures, dead light bulbs, etc.Overall I would not recommend the hotel due to the customer service and terrible pillows, although if you get lucky and get comfortable pillows or bring your own it would be somewhat reasonable for the price I suppose. Also be aware there is “no pool” as of late march 2024 if that is important to you.

As soon as my partner and I arrived we were greeted by a rude staff member at the front desk that did not seem happy to help. He was rude and tried to insist that I hadn’t already paid for the room even though it was already paid for. The room looked nothing like the picture and was worn down and had a lot of damage. The walls had dents and paint chips, there was a dead bug in the bathroom window and it overall just seemed unclean. There was dust over everything and mysterious stains throughout the room. The pool was closed which was unfortunate but I don’t even know if I would’ve gone in it anyways from the look of the place. Do not recommend staying here. Overall creepy vibes.

Just about the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We checked into two roomsthere for my father’s memorial service last weekend. In my sister’s room, the AC wasn’t working and neither was the TV. When she went down to the office to explain the situation, the hotel desk clerk was lying on the couch, watching TV on his phone and blocking the view of people coming in to see him with a chair. When she told him her situation, he said to her: “This is not a five star hotel if you don’t like it go someplace else.” We stay two nights in two rooms, and luckily, we’re out most of the day. It was never Service call made to her roomThere is poor signage at the hotel and it’s difficult to find rooms in this motel which traverse on three levels. Wandering around at night looking for my room was scaryDON’T STAY HERE!!!!!

Just stayed here! What a crazy experience. I get there and the man in the office says I now have to pay him a cash booking fee of $5. Yes, he asked for cash. He puts it in his pocket and opens his wallet and gives back $15. Really? I will be writing reviews everywhere. I will now need to cancel my credit card used because I feel this is a sketchy place.The kind suite had peeling wallpaper, and was pretty dirty/dusty. The strange craw space was a giant hole in the wall with screws over it and outlet covers that looked bad. Hire a professional.

So I stayed here last night it wasn’t too bad the rooms are ok for the price however I was bit up by a bed bugs and had to leave at 3 am!! The lobby was closed so I called the next morning to let them know they don’t care manager said nobody else had complained but ok thank you 😳 what a joke don’t stay here

So I booked this hotel for an upcoming wedding Im going to be attending in the area. I booked the executive suite for my brother and I. So just a couple of days before the wedding I had a few questions for the staff regarding if the room I booked had pots and pans so we can cook. I called the hotel and no one answered. So I called again and a man answered the phone, I proceeded with telling him I have an upcoming reservation Saturday February 17. He then says to call back that Saturday and hung up the phone. (How Rude) I ended up calling again, again and again with no answer from anyone. That immediately raised a red flag for me. So I eneded canceling my reservation and booking at another hotel. One I started reading the reviews I can honestly say I dodged a bullet with this one.

We booked two nights, when we arrived at the property two men tried to assist us; both of them were rude and refused to give us a receipt. They said that our booking company was going to provide it, which was a lie. When we open the room door, the odor was nasty; it smells old and humid. We decided to stay because we it was close to our destination, worst decision made!! The first night we realize how bad it was, the mattress very uncomfortable, the pillows are hard as a rock, the carpet was not vacuumed the next day and the only soap to wash our body was tiny. The towels are kept under the sink along with the plumbing.To make things worse, they charged us $15 dollars more per night, thats why they refused to give a receipt at the time we checked in. Please do not stay in this place if you want to have restful night. WORST PLACE EVER!!!

The WORST experience after a 14 hour workday checking in to this hotel!The second I walk in the door there’s no one else in line the “manager was eating lunch looks at me and says what do you want. And then I ask him what kind of customer of greeting is that he said the proper one. This place has a lot to learn about customer service! It’s very unfortunate because the location is perfect. Rooms are almost perfect and the price is definitely right but I will never say here again because I want to make sure the money I spend goes to people who deserve it!

*Guests Beware*This place is an absolute scam. I booked a long weekend from Friday to Monday. When I arrived Friday evening I entered the front desk building, I can hear workers in the back shouting back and fourth, they had obviously gotten an audible alert that someone had entered the front door. After about 5 minutes of them shouting back and fourth at each other, an individual came out and asked if I could be helped. I said that I was checking in and he asked for my name. After giving my name to the individual, they immediately said that there was no such name in the system, after I VISIBLY see my name on the screen. I then attempt to give them my booking confirmation email, to which they cut me off and say that the booking was cancelled. They gave zero reasoning as to why, and they had also refused to accept a confirmation number.After spending hours looking for available lodging else where I just settled on the fact that there must of been a mistake. The weekend ends and I see that my account has been charged for the full amount for the weekend stay. This is an obvious mistake I thought, after contacting the booking agency and the hotel they refused to accept that the hotel was canceled on their terms WITHOUT notifying me. They claimed that there was a double booking, to which one of the bookings had been automatically cancelled. However, there seems to be some holes in their claims. If there was a double booking then I would have received TWO confirmation numbers, I only ever received one. If there was two bookings, then my name wouldve shown in they system for at least one of the bookings. There was never any cancellation email, calls, or texts.This place will flat out lie to you, leave you without a room for the weekend, AND still charge you for the whole thing.Keep in mind when booking this if you were looking for the cheapest lodging option for the area, its not really the cheapest option if they scam you and you end up having to find last minute lodging else where anyways.Hotel manager, contact me and make this right, or pray that my credit card finds you as the fraud that you are so that I dont have to pull all my records of this fiasco together and take you to court.

Front desk staff needs to learn how to talk to people. Be able to answer questions without immediately offering you to leave. The rooms are dated. Needs to be updated. The shower had a smell coming out of the drain. The best thing about this place was quit at night. The bed was comfortable.

Never ever will I recommend this place, id rather save 60.00 and sleep with the roaches at hotel downtown. The man purposely gave me the worst room. I had mentioned how excited I was because it was my first time there. And it was my boyfriends birthday. I reserved their most expensive room the executive suite, one would think that after paying 150.00 I would have at least got the room I had paid for.Nope they gave me the queen deluxe also a handicap room. I even confirmed with the maid, that my room was the queen. Which is 50.00 less then the suite. So never will I give this man money oh and their nasty pool is closed. Even tho website says its open.

DO NOT GIVE THESE AWFUL HORRIBLE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!! First of all, you walk in the lobby to be greeted by dirty towels on the floor, loud music, and a horrible horrible smell. We walked up to the counter and had already paid online for our hotel. After looking at my boyfriends ID for five minutes, all of the sudden we are not allowed to stay here because we are “too young” (my boyfriend and myself are twenty). They had nothing that said this rule on their website, or anywhere else(because it doesn’t exist they needed an excuse to turn us down). We drove here just to have a getaway somewhere affordable and we wasted over an hour of driving there and home because they turned us down. I hope they just close their business and sell it to someone who actually cares, because judging by this experience AND all of the other reviews, they don’t at all. Don’t waste your time on these horrible nasty men.

This place is absolutely filthy. The room should be designated biohazard zone. Instead it was rented to me. Ill be quick. Boogers EVERYWHERE. Human feces splattered on the wall. Bugs on the floor that werent swept after cleaning. Truly a uniquely disgusting sight and no refund or compensation was offered. Its not worth the cheap rate, there are better in Novato for the price.

My friend and I had booked a room in advance, notified the hotel of our arrival time and got told we would be accepted/accommodated. We were so tired, had been driving for hours. Upon arrival the employee in the office saw us, made eye contact with us, didnt answer the door when we knocked. When we called the office and told him of or situation he so yeah, no and hung up on us. Incredibley unprofessional and unkind. This was whichever employee was working the closing shift Wednesday night, June 7th.

After reading so many negative reviews, we were prepared for the worst. To our surprise our stay was quite nice. There was no problem at check-in and our room was newly remodeled and clean. Yes, it was a small room, but the three of us were quite comfortable. The morning breakfast was minimal, but very nice.

The employee who answered the phone when I called to ask a couple of questions was so extremely rude, I was almost in shock. After my second question, as I was in the middle of speaking, without having said whether I had another question or not, I heard the click of the phone being hung up and I froze. They didnt even say they were hanging up! Not to mention their answers to my previous questions were extremely blunt for the questions you usually might expect working in hospitality. Reading other reviews here, seems to be a very common complaint, and a very seedy establishment overall. What is funny is seeing that whoever works there is copying and pasting a boilerplate corporate response to the many, many negative reviews clearly without having read any of them. They probably never will! I bet this comment will get one, too. Just completely ignoring any of the actual content within this review. Were sorry your trip wasnt up to your satisfaction, well contact blah blah blah department yada yada and make sure this doesnt happen again. I cancelled my reservation even though it was past the deadline where I lost my first nights rate.

We didn’t even get to stay because the man working the front desk (manager? owner?) was so rude when I asked about getting a room with a bathtub. He said I could have a room with a tub but they don’t give out plugs. When I tried to understand what he meant, he got so hostile that I felt attacked. He said I could leave and not get charged. I called booking.com to make sure I wouldn’t get charged and when she called to check, he even hung up on her. I can’t even imagine how a person in customer service can be so rude. I’ve never been treated like that, even at cheap motels. It looked nice online but I will not tolerate being treated that way. We found a decent place up the road and are much happier. And yes, they’ll let us plug the bathtub!

I rarely give such low ratings, but the one star stems from the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I booked Marinwood Inn & Suites for a wedding at the ranch 5 mins down the road, so the location was great. Little did I know how horrible the owner would be.A few days prior to my reservation, I called the hotel to ask if they would provide a crib for my infant, and the man who picked up the phone told me that they do not provide cribs and if I want a crib, then I can cancel my reservation and find a different accommodation, and promptly hung up before I could get another word in edgewise. I called back twice with no response, followed by a third time when he finally picked up. I asked if I could speak w/a manager and he told me that he was the manager (awkward). I told him that I had never experienced such rude customer service before and that guests should not be spoken to so rudely. He told me that he couldnt provide a crib because of COVID-19, repeated that if I need a crib then I can cancel my reservation and if I have more problems, and if I have additional issues, I should just tell him then because he is the manager. Then he hung up.The day before our arrival, I reluctantly called the hotel again to inquire about early check-in because I noticed that check-in wasnt until 3 PM, but I would be arriving at noon with a cranky toddler and an infant in tow. He told me that check in was at 3 PM, thats the earliest possible, and then hung up. Persistent as I am, I called again 2 hours later and got a nicer man (I think he said his name was Kevin) who said that I could try showing up earlier and they would see what was available. Fortunately, when we showed up, Kevin was the one at the reception desk and let us check in early. I only interacted with the rude man a few times, and while he was more amicable in person than he was over the phone, he was not pleased when we requested extra towels.In terms of the rooms, they were OK - two stars at best. There was no place to sit (just a desk and a bed, but no lounge chair), the floors were dirty, and covered in the hairs of previous guests. It was a bit better after the cleaning staff came through the first day, but not clean enough so that my husband didnt feel the need to clean the floors himself using the Clorox wipes we had brought.If you are looking for a cheap place to stay and dont care for customer service, then this place is fine. If you have a family, need additional accommodations, and/or do not want to dread conversations with the host, then stay away at all costs.

We are literally leaving at 1am for “having the tv too loud.” The neighbors banging on the wall! We got a noise complaint at 3pm!!!! At 3pm!!! This is outrageous! We can’t even have the tv on! I work odd shifts And so I like to listen to the tv on late (for others) I get knocks on my door for this?! Unacceptable!!! Not recommended!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Only stay here if you have a car and just need a bed. Pool is closed in 100 degree weather because it’s “seasonal” and the bathrooms were not clean. If you need a bit of shut eye on a long drive, this might be it. But don’t treat this as a vacation spot. Described as a 2 star hotel. It deserves 1.

I dont really have anything bad to say about this place, except that its a bit pricy and maybe the location next to the busy freeway isnt the best, and there really isnt any place to eat nearby that you can walk to.I was a bit worried after seeing the low rating, but the hotel exceeded expectations. The room, closet and bathroom were spotless and much larger than we needed, and I had never seen a hotel with garage parking. Often our biggest problem when staying at hotels is parking, but here each room has its own parking spot, right outside the door.We only stayed here for one night, but if you can afford it and dont mind driving for food, its central location makes it a great base point for exploring San Francisco and Marin County.

I never had the opportunity to stay there. I made a reservation which I prepaid through Hotels.com. I arrived there at 11:50pm. When I arrived, there was a sign on the lobby door that said closed, no check in. I noticed an elderly man laying on the couch watching TV. He came to the door and grumpily told me that they were closed. I explained that I had a prepaid reservation. He said we dont do business with Expedia. I said my reservation was through Hotels.com. I showed him my confirmation through the closed door. He then said no refund I then said why would I have to pay for a place I didnt stay at? I said their site stated check in was from 3-12 and now after his arguing with me for 10 min, it was now 12. He then turned away stating hes not dealing with me and returned to laying on his couch. I really disappointed because this was my go to hotel when I have to work late. The accommodation are nice and the staff is usually accommodating and friendly. This was very disappointing and after being treated so rudely, I dont think I will ever stay here again.

We had very basic questions and the guy answering our call (who was hard to understand), kept talking over us and not answering anything directly. The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable. My children were in a suite, and my husband and I were in a single room with a king. I would love to give 5 starts, but the AC on our room was not functioning properly. When we arrived our AC was off and the room was extremely hot. We turned it on and left for dinner. The kids room was nice and cool. When we returned after 2 hours, the situation was the same. I complained and was told to keep the door open and that it would cool. He didnt want to check our room until I said Ive done that. So he came to give us box fan and said again keep the door open and itll cool off. Also if we didnt like it we could check out and go somewhere else because just like another reviewer stated they were not a 5 star hotel. I wasnt asking for 5 start mind you! I was simply asking for the AC to work. The only way we finally got the air to circulate was to keep the fan on the AC unit since that would help pull the air into the room. In the morning, we heard there was another room with the same complaint. Breakfast was pretty good too. So be prepared!

The hotel room was cleaned. The porch wasnt as cleaned . The CS was questionable. Their was mildew in bathroom window. The door in our bathroom looked like it had been chewed. The carpet needed freshened. No pool, no brkfst. It took a while to enter room because of the room key not working.. This was a deluxe room.

Marinwood Inn & Suites is a no-frills stay where the photos of rooms posted arent the reality of whats there. It has a certain charm with the 1950s motor court layout. Our room was clean but well-worn with lumpy pillows (felt like they were very old and used) and a warped floor that didnt allow the bathroom door to be closed more than halfway. The staff was very nice and we only wish that the room had lived up to the expectations previewed by the website photos.

I feel that the price was very competitive in regards to Hotels in the area. The room was nice but there was a lingering cigarette smell in the no smoking room. The bathroom had extensive damage as there was a hole in the wall near the towel rack, wall near the tub was poorly patched, counter was cracked, the two sprinklers still were taped up, and the floor had weird scratches on it. Ample parking and I felt that the continental breakfast was decent. Granted, I was in the Army for 20 years and am not picky but I enjoyed it. Lastly, dont hog a table when youre done eating, fellow guests. Get up and move, thanks.

Horrible service, don’t recommend to anyone. I booked a one night for family members that were only passing by and spending one night there so we could spend the day of and day after together. I booked the room online by yesterday early afternoon and they got there around 9 since we had dinner and wanted time to catch up. The person working told them they had gotten there too late and it was closed, I have never heard such a pathetic excuse especially when clearly they were open enough to have someone deliver the unprofessional news. They went to a nearby hotel and were told by locals and staff that it’s actually a common practice there. They give out the room to upcharge the people who show up to book. Though we put in card details and the room would have been charged even as a no show, so there was no reason other than money hungry unprofessional staff and company, if I could give it 0 stars I would. DONT RECOMMENDED, ITS A SCAM!!!

Suite bedroom was OK and equipped with very powerful A/C. A/C was quite noisy, though and we could not use it while sleeping. Bathroom and kitchen were not in a very good shape. Kitchen floor felt sticky and in the bathroom were wallpapers were peeling. Complimentary breakfast was pretty basic but yet sufficient. There was coffee, tea, juices, toast and cereal. There was also a fridge filled with bacon, sausage, ham and eggs with microwaving instructions.

The worst hotel ever. There were so many homeless there and the place was very old and dirty. The zinc in our room was clogged and disgusting. The door lock didn’t even close. And the room smelled so bad. We didn’t even spend the night there, it was really bad and when we tried to let the men in the front desk know he didn’t care about it, he was very rude. Very very bad experience. For real don’t go there.

When we checked in, I was happy to hear they offer a full breakfast every morning. I was disappointed when I walked into the dining area to find a refrigerator full of eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. with microwave instructions.The room was comfortable and mostly clean - except for the headboard covered in dust and smudged with handprints all across it.Hotel was conveniently located right off the freeway- easy to find.Based on location, I would probably stay here again- Ill be making a yearly trip to Marin County but I may check other options nearby, in case their rooms are cheaper!

Not a great experience at the Marinwood Suites. The only reason we stayed the nights we did was because the room was paid for. The first red flag was running in to the hotel prior to check in to use the restroom. We prefaced that we were checking in but needed to use the facilities due to 2+ hours in the car. The front desk person clearly had no customer service skills. He was rude and looked at us as annoying tourists rather than guests.After checking in we temporarily parked in an area that apparently infuriated the same employee to the point where he chased us down and started thumping on our car window telling us we couldnt park there. (The parking lot was completely empty). We were in that area to examine the pool. The pool was old and dirty. They claimed it was cleaned every day, but the bottom if the pool was slimy. The rooms were disappointing as well. Besides the sheets and the TV everything looked old and dated. Linoleum was cracked and peeling, the wallpaper was coming off the walls in places, the sinks and tub were stained yellow.The food for breakfast was prepackaged. Which was actually a good thing. The dining area looked clean.After we left for the day (hot summer day) we returned and they had adjusted our thermostat settings. We walked into an uncomfortably warm room and had to figure out how to adjust the unit.

The facilities were passable, however manager/front desk clerk was incredibly hostile. I would remove him from my staff before he continues to ruin business.He was incredibly rude, as if I was trespassing on his property. He shouted at me, treated me disrespectfully and was extremely difficult to communicate with.I dont know what his problem is, but hes negatively impacting the business. A very nasty man sits at the front desk and makes you feel unwelcome. In the hospitality industry his behavior is unacceptable. Im certain the business has already been severely impacted, and I wont be returning unless I knew he was gone for good.

Horrible customer service! We had reserved and prepaid for a room over Thanksgiving weekend with the intention of checking in around 10:00 pm. Due to power outages at the airport, we were delayed and did not arrive until 2:30 am. We were greeted by a sign on the door instructing us to call after midnight (which we did) and the gentlemen working (aka sleeping* on the lobby couch) turned us away, saying it was past midnight and they were closed. I tried to explain that we had experienced delays, that we were prepaid, had two young kids asleep in the car, etc. He very rudely told us to go away, that our reservation was cancelled, and then proceeded to lay back down to sleep on the couch.10 minutes later (at 3:00 am) a gentleman (supposedly a different one, although who knows) called my father, who had arranged the room for us, waking him up to ask why we had not arrived, since they were expecting us.I cant speak for the quality of the inn. We were so angry that we cancelled and stayed somewhere else. It was absolutely ridiculous!

This place was quite friendly, I came in around midnight and got into my place in no time. Very clean and organized. My only complaint is that there were no trash liners (bags) in the cans, Im not sure if that was intended, but I would prefer trash can liners. They have lemon water thats quite good. A complaint can be made about how expensive their food bar is and they dont provide breakfast (at least not to me).RD

Im basing this rating on relation to price - and for what it costs vs. what you get it is pretty darn good. Ive stayed at all of the low cost hotels in Novato for work and this one might be my favorite along with Inn Marin (though we had many issues with them.) Marinwood was perfectly good, nicely updated, well appointed. Even the little tiny breakfast room blows away Days Inn and their terrible one. For a great place to stay at a reasonable price - it is great.

Light switch plate not screwed on in the bathroom (Literally just fell of when my kiddo tried to turn on the light), bathroom light worked half of the time, broken faucet in the bathroom, toenail clippings on the floor, smells like smoke and urine, no towels in the room, kitchen was gross (definitely not cleaned well), there were no pots/pans to cook with in the kitchen, kids found a lighter on the tiny balcony. Omg,He yelled at me!!! I tried to check in and the guy working was crashed out on the couch. He got up but seemed grumpy. I got in an argument over placing a reservation online. I told him I have the phone number to the card holder (business trip) he got really upset . I imagine it’s due to more work for him. Iv been on many business trips and never had this awkward interaction. I was really uncomfortable staying there. So I left, and sure thing he is back on the couch asleep. Checkin night clerk was friendly, welcoming and gave very helpful directions to the room. Found the room to be decent and clean upon arrival.Were disappointed that some appliances were a bit noisy. Set the thermostat because of the chilly night but discovered that the heater made a disturbing clanking rattle whenever it kicked in and so switched it off. The fan in the bathroom made a sound that was like brilo on a cheese grater.Just. No.Would also recommend better grip on the bottom of the shower/bath. Lost my balance when I was reaching to shut off the water, slipped and fell out of the tub and hit my back on the edge of the toilet, taking the shower curtain with me. Luckily I was only a bit bruised and wasnt seriously injured (maybe just my ego a little). Also thought that the lightbulb bulb was out in the kitchen but no, it just took a few moments to come on.Enjoyed the breakfast that was offered though. There were more choices than just a basic continental breakfast.Would consider staying here again especially if these few things are updated.

If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all.The rooms themselves were okay. There may have been mold by the sink and in the shower. No shower liner so when you showered water ended up everywhere outside of the shower. Did have a nice complamemtry breakfast. Would have been nice to get the extra towels we needed in a timely manner. Probably would not stay there again if I were in the area.

The receptionist (he said his name is Kevin Smith) is the rudest receptionist that I have ever met. I booked a room through orbitz.com for Tuesday night Jun 8 (I actually booked a room from June 8 to June 13) and when I called the hotel, he said there was no my reservation on the system. We had to call orbitz and got all information about my booking even the transaction ID and the hotel confirmation ID but he didn’t even pause a second to double check, he just simply said NO. We asked to talk to the hotel manager and he said he’s the manager!!! When we wanted to talk to someone else, he just hung up the phone!We were so frustrated and finally canceled the reservation and orbitz’s customer service said that Kevin accepted to cancel my bookings???? How could he cancel my bookings if he could not find them???

It was a decent enough stay and I slept well. There was even a car port available for my vehicle. The problem with this establishment is the customer service. I could hardly connect over the telephone to confirm our stay and other pertinent information beforehand. Afterward, I had left a battery pack to my camera and tried multiple times to contact the inn after I left. Alas, I could not get anyone to answer the telephone after calling multiple times for days. What a shame.

Horrible customer service. I called to ask a few questions before booking my stay. After the first question the “supervisor” decided to hang the phone up. I called back to finish asking my questions and let him know it was very rude of him to hang up in my face. The SUPERVISOR then gets hostile and i am told “okay whatever dont come then.” As someone who has hotel management experience i can say i would never book or come close to a hotel where the supervisor is unprofessional and rude to their customers.

This review is for cafe de vine, the bistro attached to the hotel. Only came by for breakfast on our way up to Santa Rosa but it was pretty fantastic. Generous portions of well cooked food. Its ok as well as it gets the job done but if you want something else BK, McD and Jack are all around the corner as well as a Safeway with a Starbucks and if you have never had it there is a Super Duper burger. Ill come back since its pretty accessible from the freeway.

Marinwood Inn & Suites in Novato was a very displeasurable experience. The inn appeared to be in much better condition from the photos we initially saw online (in other reviews). However, that is not the case, the rooms are barely doable. The walls in our bathroom were peeling and there was rotting wood which should be replaced. Overall, the room did not feel very clean and presentable. The complimentary breakfast was not really breakfast at all but very much outdated and stale snacks. I do not recommend staying at the Marinwood Inn for their price, spend a little more and go to a better inn.

I was in Novato on biz and didnt want to spend a fortune on a place to sleep so I booked a room at Best Western in San Rafael and when I showed up there were bums doing drugs and ranting in the parking lot so I cancelled the resv and left. Booked another dive on line (didnt know it until I pulled up) to Americas Best Value Inn in Novato and it was literally more disgusting than the San Rafael inn. So I asked to cancel because I told them NO way was a single female going to spend the night in a first floor room (all they had avail) at a total drug infested dive joint. So they cancelled. Then I called more places that we totally booked and then found ONE room at a hotel that wanted $300+ and said NO. I decided that if the next place was a dump I would just sleep in my car in the well lit Costco parking lot. I called Marinwood Inn and said I was not going to book until I saw the place. SO CLEAN & QUIET I couldnt believe it! Private GARAGE! (Thats a first)! Reasonable Price! No one above or below (my car was in my private garage port below)! Granite staircase, granite counters, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, great location, NO bums....not even close! I honestly could NOT believe how nice it was for the price and why it wasnt sold out! Its like a little secret that Im kind of scared to share because I dont want to not get a room next time. A/C...maybe not the best, but I found that leaving the window open and the door open for 30 minutes cooled the place right off. I LOVED IT and would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to everyone...love, love, loved it!!!!!!

I tried for several days before arrival to confirm my reservation: no one ever answered the inn phone and no voicemail option. I just talked with the office clerk who says “Oh yeah, the phone is not working.” Yet another reviewer had the same experience.2. There is no email address on their website.3. The contact form on the website did not work.4. The door keycard did not work to open the door. My neighbors’ keycards both to the left and right of me did not work either. The clerk said it is because we were not using the keycards correctly; or the keycards were being deactivated by our cell phones, etc. Funny how the clerk also had a hard time getting them to work; actually, not funny.I think on my next trip I’ll just pay more at a hotel that provides basic services and is more interested in customer satisfaction than working or playing on their office computer.As always YMMV.Still here, but can’t leave soon enough.

Just so-so. The prices quoted by Travelocity were not waht was charged: the proprietor insisted that the $10 extra charge was for taxes, when taxes were quoted clearly on my copy of the reservation. He shrugged.The tub had no stopper, and when asked, the proprietor claimed the city doesnt allow tub baths, only showers. As an arthritic with severe cases my lower back and left hip, I told him that I have to take hot baths. He shrugged. Shrugging seems to be his idea of customer service.The room was fine, with a very comfy king bed. The fitted sheets did not fit.Towels were big and fluffy, but no bathmat, or should I say, shower mat to please the proprietor?I shall shrug. Stick with the bottom end of the chains, and this hotel can be passed up.

The place itself wasnt that bad, but the A/C did not work at all, it comes on but does not work, and when I asked the guy at the front desk about having maintenance look at, I was told the mechanic left, and this not a 5 star hotel I replied I understand, is there maybe a different room available? The answer was no, because you pre paid!!??. I was told to ask the next shift that comes on in a hour.. The shower or the plug does not work. You cant shower or bathe.This morning Im trying to wash my clothes. Ill let you know if Ive succeeded or not.The staff is not very pleasant, except for an older man with a mustache. The exception.First failed attempt at doing laundry. Another falling star.There are not many possibilities for communication when they speak to you in a language that I barely understand. And with those manners, less so.

A standard hotel in the USA. Nothing great, but not run down either. So far everything was pretty clean, but the furniture was already a few years old. The location was pleasant.

I really loved it and although I was about to cancel my reservation, its a good thing I didnt. Its a cozy and spacious place. I love that the room has a kitchen because its a saving to bring food and prepare it right there. I totally recommend it. Its close to everything and the sector is very beautiful
