This MCX (Marine Corps Exchange) is a hot mess. If you want to go shopping, without knowing the price, for things like make up, perfume, shoes. This might be the place for you. However if you like knowing the price of your items, without having to find a price checker machine, or just walking up to the register, to be surprised about the price of an item. This might not be the place for you. I personally like knowing the price of items before I buy them. Which I thought was a normal thing. customer service, at this MCX Is not the greatest. The employees here, I really not helpful. The women’s clothing at the store, seems to be outdated, out of style and not relevant in today’s market. This store also looks like it over charges. You would most likely be able to find the same items, out in town, and regular retail stores, or online, for a cheaper price. if you’re in the mood to go shopping, I would give this place a miss, maybe head over to Carlsbad outlet mall. You would most definitely know the price, and get a better deal.One star, because it looked clean.

Without a doubt one of the most worst customer service I have ever dealt with in the uniform department. Please for the love of god don’t need a uniform replacement and come here. Just go down to Miramar. save yourself a headache and trust me. They will have you jumping through hoops just to get a piece of uniform. They talk to you like you you owe them money and if you decide to get snippy back from being talked to like, they go and ask what command are you with so they can go tell on you and say you were rude and out of line. They do not care with helping the fellow military member. Their hours are inconvenient, they don’t ever have the sizes you need, you need a form for every little thing and don’t tell you the requirements or everything you need up front. I have been up there 4 times in the past 2 months just to exchange a pair of boots and get some name tags. I got everything else down in Miramar and they did it THAT DAY! No issues, no push back, no attitude. I would rather drive the hour than to deal with these store associates. It’s not just me, people from all over have expressed how rude and unhelpful these women are. Then they just say “sorry I don’t make the rules”, shoulder shrug with a smirk on their face. I have been in the field between visits and need new uniform items. I work all day and have to request to leave early just to make their time frame of 4pm cut off. I am about to go on a 2 month field op and won’t be able to come back till after now being turned away for a 4th time for something a reason they said “oh you can’t have it say this” or “you need this”, “you need a copy of this” “you need this signature”. I give up dealing with these women with an attitude in the uniform department.

My family and I went shopping for Christmas gifts today. We were there at least a couple of hours. We had some very helpful employees, but the one that really stood out was the cashier, who we will call her K. K was exceptional. She was courteous, helpful, and very patient; which is unfortunately very rare in customer service anymore.

Stopped in looking for a book and the new Navy PT uniform. Their book section consists of one shelf/row and the other side of that row containing the magazines. They only had the navy sweats and not the wind suit.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING EXPENSIVE HERE. they refuse to help with a return or exchange on certain items regardless of no warning when i purchased the product for 350$. they refused to even hear about my situation with the product and immediately said they wont accept broken products back. i had just informed the room temperature i.q. worker at the desk that the product was still operational and wasnt broken in anyway. it seemed like buddy had an excuse for everything so he could continue standing and playing on his phone rather than doing his simple job. i dont remeber the workers name but avoid the white guy with a mustache in the electronic section as he is as helpful as a bag of sand and if possible avoid this location in general for any serious purchases as they do not care about customer service.

Overpriced. They have an excuse for everything not to price match and have very limited stock relevant to this area and it’s customer base. I remember coming here not even eight years ago and everything you bought from the exchange was listed under MSRP and significantly less than out in town. Now it’s better to just rent the equipment at the rec center since the only thing that is listed for MSRP seems to be the clearance items that don’t sell.

Young marines and sailors! Dont buy electronics from here!They have signs everywhere with their return policy and then dont honor it! Beware! I bought a Nintendo switch and an oled switch and tried returning it and they tried telling me I couldnt return it because it was considered software?!?! What?!?! A gaming console isnt software! Went through so many hoops to finally return it even called the main number for shopmyexchange. I just ended up returning everything.... then they were all looking at me funny because of it....

Yesterday, 3rd March 2023, I had my haircut at the Camp Pendleton Exchange. For the first time in several years: I received great customer service! Yes, it was amazing. The lady who cut my hair did great but what was even better: was the that I actually felt welcome and not like stranger walking into someones home. Ive never been in an MX before but this place was absolutely awesome! Wish it was open to the regular public because it was bigger than a regular Walmart but had an Ambiance of a small town department store. The people were super friendly and accommodating. And I love that they give back to their Community by having an event or multiple events every year! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your Tree Lighting Event this year!

This one star rating is for a store associate named Francesca who process our purchases. In order to give/share this review, I had to select a star. She doesnt deserve any star at all and dont deserve to work in a military facility. She didnt smile during our encounter. Her demeanor is like an angry person. She didnt do any eye contact. She was looking away during our encounter. She was just shaking off each clothes in order to remove the hanger! And letting each hangers dropped on top of the bagging area. Any decent human being will remove a hanger by reaching it under the shirt (as an example), but not her. She was totally rude. Our first to encounter this type of store employee at Camp Pendleton. The register where shes assigned to work is by the exit door. This incident happened this Sunday, July 23rd.

This place looks like a department store, but Holy crud is it lacking a ton of items. 24 dollar sheets? No, try like 70 dollars. The registers are constantly understaffed to no fault of the employees. Its pretty frustrating coming in and waiting in line for 20+ minutes just to realize that the item you got was completely mispriced. Consistently disappointed at this store.

The store its self is fine, the barbershop however is not well managed. They expected me and others to wait outside with no clear time line on how long to expect the wait. I would probably not minded if I hadnt had two small children with me and been in the direct sunlight. Its to hot and I dont understand why they demand us outside when they have an entrance inside.

The selection of really anything is not that good. I’m not sure who does their buying for the women’s section, but they should rethink stocking the shelves with mostly trendy, teeny bopper clothes. I’d like the entire shirt please, not just the top half. Thaaanks. According to my husband, the men’s section of clothes is great. The high quality make-up is never fully stocked so it’s hit or miss on what you’ll find. Kids clothes are way overpriced. Go to Target, you’ll get cheaper, cuter clothes.

A wide and great selection of name and off brand items. Groceries are limited (commissary is next door though). Plenty of electronics, kitchen supplies, clothes, military apparel and uniforms, a garden/outdoors center, recreation and exercise department, a nice tailor shop and cheap but fast haircut center. Also has a dukin donuts and a frozen yogurt place. Its got it all, would recommend a visit.

A deal to shop on base. An even better deal to shop at the MCX. If you have an opportunity definitely check out the sales and deals this store has to offer. From clothing wears of all ages and genders to a verity of electronics that can accommodate for the comfort of your home. There is even a uniform section for those that may need uniform upgrades. An altering section accommodating those with a quick fix. Within the retail store is a few other mini shops to check out while you are local. If you are a sports fan definitely check out the Semper Fi Lockeroom located outside at the far end of the building. The Semper Fi Lockeroom has many merchandise from hats to a verity of memorabilia. It is a great place to shop if you dont mind that half the items on the shelves are not priced or priced correctly. My last visit some candles priced at 11.99 and a sign that says 25% off so the cost should be 8.99 but when you get to the register was told that the price was 15.99 and discounted to 11.99. Same item out in town 12.50 each buy two get two free. The other great thing is the customer service. There is a sign for the registers to start the line and wait for the next cashier that is open. Standing there and notice that they are not using that sign so just get in a line at an open register. At the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK the women finishes with the customer in front of me and I start to place the items on the counter when she looks at me and as she starts to walk away and says oh this register is closed.

One of the many perks I enjoy as a retiree are my Exchange privileges. The tax-free shopping, the great assortment of products, price matching, and multiple lanes for a quick checkout is a major plus. Youre bound to find a great discount if youre a bargain shopper. 20-50% off in some of the clearance sections of clothing and shoe deals. Another plus the MCX just added was the Gap brand! The staff was helpful in finding what I needed. The store was stocked pretty well also. The onky issue I saw was the checkout line was to the back of the store and it only looked like 1 or 2 registers open. If that is the case there is a register by the GNC store as you go out of the door. This register is for uniform only Mon-Fri, however on the weekends its fair game and not a lot of people in the other line know.

Horrible experience with this store and their return policy ! My SO got me a pair of boots 3days ago so upon trying them on, noticed a stain that’s prolly they put it in markdown to $86 and unfortunately don’t fit me that well. Went to return today, our floor isn’t carpet and my mistake that didn’t wipe the bottom of it when I tried them on just put straight back to its box. So told them I tried them on and they keep insisting that it has been worn and disregard my issue. We will never shop in this store again. Their manager and employees has no consideration.

This is the first time I had been to the MCX on this base. I love that it was set up the same pretty much as the base in 29 Palms so I knew where everything was at and all the workers are very very nice. And all the MCX locations Ive been to the bathrooms are always very clean and thats important!

Just pick up some Valentines candy for gift & a new blender. Nothing else. And I was in tbe mood to buy.I will be back for Mothers day. Just to check out merchandise. I like that I can shop for items and pay less that I wouldve paid at a department store in a mall. No charge for bag with your purchase and no high taxes on your purchases. The exchange sells brand name clothing for men women and children, shoes, purses, electronics, jewelry, cosmetics and more.

Not always fully stocked but fastest service and largest variety as far as MCXs on base. Its more civilian based than the other MCXs but youll usually find what you need regardless. Always great customer service. Recommend going in the beginning of the week to avoid hectic, highflow hours.

I dont normal shop at the MCX on Pendleton, but the excellent level of customer service I received from Ms Adeline in jewelry was top notch.She was knowledgeable, attentive and kind.Its just about Christmas time and the lines moved quickly. They have a good traffic flow, we were able to socially distance, hand sanitizer was available. It was a good day at the MCX!

NEVER USE THIS ALTERATION SHOP! just go to dorthys right outside the main gate. I gave then a blues coat to get new chevrons. Thats it, no alterations, no dry cleaning. They had my jacket for almost a month. But waited untill the day I was supposed to pick it up to stitch it on that morning. Just go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

I am so very disappointed. I took my fam ily to the base to relive some glory days. What did I see walking in front of me. A senior member of the Corps walking in the PX with PT gear on, you can tell this ninja just came from the gym. He walks by a Major, a freaking commissioned Officer! Nothing was said. I had to yell so we dont correct people and maintain good order and discipline! Nothing. We walked in right there a sign just like it was 8 years ago when I was active. Still said No Freaking PT Gear! I went out of my way to dress my family unit accordingly. Yall should also.

If you have base access, I strongly recommend shopping at the MCX. Prices are usually pretty competitive and you don’t have to pay taxes on anything in the store. Every penny spent at any MCX goes right back into the military community where you’re buying from. For instance, if you buy items here, the revenue generated goes back into MCX and Camp Pendleton

The worst MCX! Come between the hours of 8am-8pm to find a store with 2 open registers and a line that wraps around the store. But if your looking for something in particular you will find it in the food iles! Coming from 29 Palms after living on base for 13 years, I was told that the Camp Pendleton location was the biggest store they offer on a Marine Corps base. After shopping there several times, I realised 29 Palms though it may be smaller, has Camp Pendleton MCX beat by MILES. I can never find ANY shoes my size at Pendleton location. Their selection of clothing isnt the best either in my opinion. I dont want to live in 29 Palms again, but I sure wish I could have their MCX back!!
