I had a great experience here! I was seen right on time for my appointment. Dr. Rinaldi was kind and attentive. He was very thorough in his explanations, and informed me of some things other optometrists in that past did not. I had been having trouble seeing out of my most recent glasses from another optometrists office, and Dr. Rinaldi was able to immediately pinpoint what was wrong with those lenses and allowed me to test the proper prescriptions for each eye (as my two eyes are quite different in terms of vision) and I was immediately at ease knowing I will be able to see clearly again soon! I highly recommend this office and will return.

I could not be more thrilled with Marina Del Rey Optometry. I was traveling and needed eye care on a Sunday. Lo and behold, they were open and were able to see me, squeezing me in between other patients. Once I got in the chair, the doctor treated me as a valued patient and was caring and professional. If I lived in the area, I would definitely use them as my primary eye care practice. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend Dr. Rinaldi for kids’ exams (and adults too). He was affable, engaging, and respectful with my children in a way that immediately put them at ease. (I wish all medical professionals could work with kids so well!) The little things add up and make an huge difference (especially for shy/nervous kiddos)—explaining what he’s doing first, asking for their consent before touching their faces, chatting with them and answering their questions. Staff was also great and equally patient with my kids. I’ve been happily coming here for years for my own exams—but their work on the pediatric side is exemplary.

We had a great experience at Marina del Rey Optometry - Ive already recommended it to my friends and family! Recently moved to the Marina and was looking for a new optometrist. They took VSP, so we figured wed give it a shot. Everyone was so kind. They answered any questions I had, addressed my concerns, and walked me through pricing and everything when it came to insurance. The friendly staff cleaned and tightened my glasses as well, and we appreciated all of their help throughout the process. They made everything quick and easy to understand, which I really appreciate!

The staff here is so nice and helpful, they helped me pick out the most comfortable and stylish glasses. Prices are reasonable for glasses / contacts and with insurance even better (I have Anthem Blue Cross). Basic eye exam is covered under my insurance (with $10 co pay) but contact lens exam is additional ($55). Reasonable compared to other places!!

All exams and results were thoroughly explained with plenty of time for questions. Family history and personal concerns were addressed without feeling rushed. From the first time we called to set up appointments to picking up our new glasses, the Dr. and staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable and polite. Its been a much different experience than our previous optometrist. There was no pressure to puy additional products or upsetting. They were very conscientious in regards what our insurance would and would not cover, as well as ensuring we understood how much out of pocket expenses wed incur. Additionally, the office is set up appropriately to meet Covid guidelines and the staff does a great job spacing out appointment and managing traffic. We felt very comfortable.

His staff, esp Letty, was so friendly, and helped me pick out the most comfortable and well fitting glasses. They were honest and upfront about costs and made sure to go over everything in detail on what my insurance covers. I got excellent care re: my eye exam for glasses and contacts and received thorough education on how to take care of my eyesight. I had a great experience. You were let in my a staff member after taking your temperature and asking a few questions. With the current health situation that has been going on since March, you definitely feel that the site and staff take social distancing and sanitizing seriously- site staff wear shields, gloves, have a used pen holder, wipe down in front of you even after it had been sanitized prior to you entering. Staff and doctor are friendly and knowledgeable. Almost no wait time for my appt. Definitely recommend!

MDR optometry has THE NICEST staff!!! Not only are they super friendly, but the facility is immaculate and you are the only patient in the space. They disinfect after each patient. Both my husband and I had an appointment and we were both impressed by the staff. Dr Rinaldi was super thorough and took time to answer all my questions, even about my children’s eye health (even though they were not there). Oscar was helpful from my initial phone call he handled insurance authorization while I made the appointment over the phone in 2 minutes and during the visit took care of our orders. Best experience with an optometrist. The doctor was so knowledgeable and efficient. The staff is so nice and helpful. They had no crazy fees or anything hidden that I didnt know about. The doctor gave me free trial contacts and eye drops and contact solution. Hit my prescription perfectly. I usually have to go in a few times to get new contacts because its not the right prescription, but the doctor had no problem finding the perfect lenses. They were so safe about COVID. So happy to have found them!!

My appointment was easy, upfront, and direct. They have a clean and stylish office, and easy underground parking (a plus in Los Angeles.) Dr. Rinaldi, though startlingly young in appearance, is smart and personable. He introduced himself as Dom, and is a perfect balance of professional and chill. He was even cool enough to make sure I had my pupil distance measurements in detail in my prescription in case I wanted to buy frames online. I ended up buying frames in office, and the assistant, Letty, was also informative and fun to talk to. They took my insurance, Guardian Vision, VSP Choice Network: also a bonus. I literally have not been able to seen clearly since March 2022. It is now August 2022. Ive been in the office for multiple appointments and even referred out to an ophthalmologist to check on the health of my eye. After 5 months, they still have not been able to correct my vision. With so much back and forth, I have to constantly call and follow up to get notes from the doctor and make new appointments. Ive never been so frustrated. I cannot in good faith recommend this place.

I’ve been with them for several years and earlier this week, after having called about my glasses and a lens issue, I arrived thinking I would have to reorder a new lens or some other adjustment. I was pleased beyond words that they had anticipated my problem and had pre ordered new lenses. I arrived and they assessed, replaced lens and adjusted my frames. I walked out in about 20 mins with working glasses, minimized my exposure to the Rona, and I don’t have to return. Excellent service!

I’ve yet to receive my contacts prescription and have requested about 3x (had to ask for my glasses prescription multiple times). The left lens in my glasses is slightly loose and there are score marks on my frame where it looks like they may have hit it with the lens grinder. Fortunately my frame only cost $800, no big deal. They attempted to tighten the frame but couldn’t. And probably the least of my complaints is that when what I ordered was ready they called and asked me to make an appointment for 2 days later to pick up.

They take COVID-19 precautions seriously and space out the appointments; I was never in the same room with another patient and saw all surfaces sanitized before I got near them. Quite possibly one of the best eye doctor visits I’ve ever experienced in my life. The staff were extremely courteous and polite and always made sure I was comfortable. They explained everything very well to me and made sure I understood the costs and best option for me regarding my health insurance coverage. Dr. Rinaldi was the doctor who saw me and provided the most comprehensive exam I have ever had. I must admit I walked in there expecting a quick in-and-out routine, and instead came out of there knowing a lot more about my eyes and with more test performed that have never been done by other doctors. Dr. Rinaldi also educated me on maintaining eye health and how to correct some mistakes I’ve been making with wearing contact lenses. It also helps that he is easy on the eyes haha. I would highly recommend this office to anyone and especially refer them to Dr. Rinaldi who provided excellent care and knowledgeable information.

By far, the most painful injury I have ever received, was at the hands of my two year old daughter. While picking her up from preschool her tiny little nail on her tiny little index finger poked me directly in the eye while running to hug me. At the time it hurt, but it wasnt much more painful than what you would normally expect from getting poked in the eye. What I didnt understand at the time was that she had given me a corneal abrasion and things were about to get worse, a lot worse. That night, I tossed and turned as my eye continued to get worse. Every blink I took further tore at my cornea and aggravated this abrasion.I woke in the morning and literally could not open either eye from the pain I was in. It was so painful that I was crawling around the house on all four fumbling for things with my hands. I thought I would have to go to the hospitals emergency room. Luckily for me, my wife was a long time client of Kris Kobayashi. She phoned Kris and explained the situation. Despite not being at work, Kris didnt hesitate to volunteer to see me and even arranged to see me at a friends optometry office next to my house knowing it would be difficult for me to travel to the Marina Del Rey office in my current condition.The immediate relief as Kris applied a medical contact to my eye after assessing the damage was overwhelming. I would have cried except that my eyes were already streaming from the injury. Kris gave me an entire plethora of care, advice, and information to go along with the contact and medication. She informed me that toddlers commonly cause their parents eye abrasions. The hospital, where I think most regular people on their day off would have sent me, would have simply put some lubricant on my eye, given me an eyepatch, and prescribed antibiotics. Instead of spending a week in pain with half my vision I was given immediate relief and the full use of both eyes.You might think this level of care cost me an arm and a leg but no, Kris charged me for a regular eye exam visit and the normal cost for the contact while prescribing me a prescription with a follow up visit later that week. All of which was mostly covered by my vision insurance anyways.Truly, I will always be grateful for this response and while I hopefully wont be seeing Kris again for an eye abrasion I cant recommend her and her business enough to both my family and friends for her professionalism, courtesy, and obvious care for her clients well being.

They are mindful that prescription eyewear can become very expensive and they try to find solutions that work with your budget. They are also following strict protocols to keep customers safe from Covid. Everyone is still wearing masks and they require that customers wear masks as well. My daughter and I LOVED this place. After spending most of the pandemic wondering why my eyes were getting worse from computer and zoom fatigue, and after going decades with only reading glasses after getting Lasiks years ago, I decided I needed to visit an optometrist, and couldnt hurt to take my 10-year-old daughter for an appointment as well. This place was VERY covid safe and uses a total team approach with all the highest tech, very inviting store and exam offices, it was lovely for me and for my daughter (who found the whole thing fun and fascinating and is now excited that she has the eyesight to become an astronaut). Everyone was as nice -- and safe -- as could be, and I love that they are fine with you trying on as many glasses as you want, they just set everything aside to be sanitized afterwards. One stop shopping, got a prescription that will help so much and great glasses/sunglasses selection. Cant recommend highly enough!

Two stars because the staff was nice and it seems to be more their (remote) labs fault. Otherwise, one star (if not zero) for the quality of the lenses. I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses with flash mirror coating from this store and had tons of troubles with it, in particular the lenses, which made me come back 8-10 times over a period of a little less than a year.Initially, the prescription was wrong, and everything was blurry. It took more than 2 weeks to get new lenses, and it was blurry again. After another round of lenses and 2+ more weeks of waiting, they received the wrong color. And after 2+ more weeks of waiting AGAIN, I could finally see clearly, with the right color.A few months after this, the flash mirror coating started peeling off, and it got worst over time and started to get into my field of vision. Around month 6, I went back to get the lenses changed. This time, it was pretty fast to get the new lenses, and they were fine for another few months, until it started peeling off again. But this time, the lab wont change the lenses because the warranty replacement was already applied, although it is a defect that clearly falls under their responsibility, and the glasses are less than a year old (so I wonder if this is even legal).Oh, and in the meantime, the glasses fell apart ($200 ish RayBan ClubMaster... but still made in China) and I had to go to a local optical store to get the lenses back into the frame. I never did anything crazy with these sunglasses, I dont even wear them all that much. I think that theyre just poor quality, both the frame and the lenses.For a $500+ pair of glasses ($270+ after insurance) that is less than a year old, this is disappointing to say the least. I am all for supporting local businesses, but I would like to put this in contrast with a pair that I got online from Zenni Optical for a fraction of the price (as a matter of fact, 10% of the price), which came right away with the correct prescription, a mirror coating that doesnt peel off and a frame that feels more sturdy than those flimsy Ray Bans. I am sorry to have to say this, but I know where I will buy my next pair of sunglasses. Lesson learned: dont get lured into thinking that local optical stores have better quality products, they just dont.
