This hotel is over priced just like most things in LA. The room had a great view but a great view doesnt always mean a great room. The room was okay but for that price I expected more space and a comfortable bed and pillows. The valet parking was out of the world priced but on most occasions my vehicle was ready after calling. The room service was quick, the food was okay but the portions left a lot to be desired. Overall, the hotel was convenient because my event was right in Marina Del Rey but again overpriced. I somewhat recommend but there are better options at the price or at a better price. Additionally, the receipt I got when checking out didnt accurately reflect my charges and the charges on my card were left pending for 4 days before finally being corrected and approved with the right charges. Marriott should be able to do better..!! Just a thought.

Excellent Marriott hotel! The service from everyone was outstanding: Yolanda at the front desk, Elizabeth in housekeeping, Lourdes in the M Lounge, the Host at the M Lounge, Roberto the Bellman, the Bartender on Friday night. Management is doing a good job with their great customer service training!

Location is everything, and this hotel is no different. Overlooking the marina and within a walking distance of tons of activities, experiencing this top-notch property is a must. The rooms are big and clean with solid service and speedy internet connection everywhere inside the building. Food is a step above other Marriott hotels and is available for most of the day. Parking is the only kink in this well-oiled machine and can cost a small fortune, depending on the length of stay.

Lots of hidden fees such as resort fees that arent communicated when booking. The lobby has a perfume like scent that is way too strong and hits you as soon as you walk in the door. So if you are sensitive to smells dont plan on eating in the lobby. Overall the rooms where clean but you hear lots of outside noise. We happened to stay during the night when there way an active shooter across the street and got no sleep from all of the noise pollution from outside. Staff was super friendly and nice!

Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms adhering to a minimalist aesthetic. Mostly great views, especially when overlooking poolside or the marina area behind the hotel. Huge outdoor terrace and bar area accentuated by flaming torch lanterns to bathe you in a glow of warmth on those brisk nights while providing just the right amount of shimmering light. Other amenities include an open air restaurant located in the lobby that serves until the wee hours of the night, and a 24hr modern fitness center adjoining the pool area. A lazy 10 minute stroll through the affluent and safe surrounding residential area takes you straight to Venice Beach

A big hotel can become a home-from-home only if guests are treated like family or old friends even. First of all, the Valets were warm, helpful, and friendly. From when I checked in to the times I needed help during my stay, Fabiola was there to help me. Each and every time I went to the front desk she made me feel special. Lastly, Diego runs the coffee and pastry area. His warmth and good nature really helped me greet the day with a smile. I highly recommend this hotel!

The location is really good it was a good safe area however after being in the room our second night when I used the shower there was small hairs that didn’t look like it came from someone’s head. in the shower. which definitely weren’t any of ours considering none of us have dark colored hair. after leaving a review through Mariot they did nothing but apologize.

We poor service we didnt get any help at reception to check-in. We were asked to check in using their computer which was not working and when we complained about this we were told it would be repaired after two days.We had just arrived after an 11 hour flight and had to find alternative accommodation,Customer service was virtually non-existent. Do not really associate the US to deliver such poor service.

I chose the Marriott Marina Del Rey because of the location I preferred. VALUE began with my valet friend. Then Annabel made it so easy to check me into a perfect room. At the bar for food and drinks, Gary made my day with his upbeat and professional attitude. For added value, Samantha Lee stopped by to make sure that everything was perfect. And it was!

I’ve always been a Marriott customer I’ve traveled everywhere. I’ve never had this experience. This is the most dirtiest Marriott I’ve been to. Customer service was horrible. They had a bad smell. Everything was old. Don’t waste your money and go there.

I left my bucket hat there and by the grace of the amazing staff I got my hat back after they shipped it to me. What an amazing service they could have worn it and I wouldn’t even known I left it there.They got a nice view of the marina. 10/10 would lose my hat there again.

Really impressed with this Marriott. There was a lot of communication leading up to the stay and the Marriott also offers an hour free for kayaking or other beach/marina activities. I didn’t take advantage but I love that!There was a great outdoor area by the restaurant downstairs which had a fire pit and it was such a nice day to sit down in.Lastly the breakfast was really good at Sinder Lounge highly recommend it.

**Update**Day 5 and still no AC. Monday it was being fixed. Tuesday they were waiting on a part but it was going to be fixed. Wednesday it was being fixed that morning. 4 nights in room at 79/80. We opened the balcony for some air movement but get all traffic noise. This is glorified camping at this point. And offer of rewards does not help that for the entirety of our stay we paid to not be able to be in our room or sleep.**Original PostCurrently staying at this hotel and they have no working AC in the rooms, and did not inform us upon check in. The next morning when I went to report the problem (thinking it was our room) was told Oh yeah, the whole building doesnt have AC, sorry and every night I get the same SorryWhile the servers at the restaurant have been amazing, there are too many options to settle for a hotel that is not cheap and that does not inform their guests about major issues or accommodate them somehow when they cannot provide basic services.

Two starts only for the location and service. Beach is 15 mins walking. Really disappointing that there is absolutely no food or drinks available after 10 PM. Rooms are clean, but the pool is outdoors and located on the main road so it’s impossible to relax with cars going by. We used the valet service for $49 to avoid the hassle of parking across the street. The breakfast was nice with some good options available.

My daughter, grandson, and I were told there were no rooms with double beds available due to a plumbing issue. We were offered a large room on the 9th floor as a compromise. The room was well styled and clean with 3 balconies overlooking the marina, but there was no actual bed. It only had a pull out couch, a roll away bed, and a crib. It was late and we were tired so we tried to make it work for the night. The next morning, we went to the check-in desk and explained that this room would not be suitable, especially with the arrival of my husband. With some gentle persuasion, we were moved to a room with 2 queen beds and a view of the marina. It was much smaller, but it was better suited for 3 adults and a baby. It is well located for access to the airport, Venice, and Santa Monica. We were able to walk to several restaurants in the area and felt safe doing so. The pool is smaller than I expected, but the hot tub is nicely sized. In spite of the first nights poor sleep, overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Really nice staff but had a flood and didnt have a room for me when I went to check in. Had to change hotels. This was at 1am. It would have been really nice if folks could have given me a call and let me know so that I could have just gone straight to the second hotel instead of having to find out once I got to the front desk when I was already really tired and ready to go to bed.

This is a very nice hotel. Not only because of the great location, but the impeccable staff. Doreen from HR even offered us breakfast after the lounge closed because she wanted everyone to feel good at her hotel. Brian from the restaurant was also great and made us feel right at home. We had the Rotary International District 5280 Foundation Celebration at the Marina del Rey Marriot . Really enjoyed the “Doves” at the Terrace at Sunset, the courteous and efficient service, the very spacious facilities, the lighting and sound system . We felt very comfortable and welcomed .

The staff were really nice, always worried If we needed something. Everything was very clean, the room was perfect. The pool is available all year. The gym was incredible, With new machines. The hotel is really family and kids friendly. Also you can spend a really good time at the restaurant and bar, and have a nice drink watching NBA games. My congratulations to everyone, valet guys, bartenders, waiters, receptionists, etc. Also it’s in a really safe place, you can go out and walk with no problem to Venice Beach. We will definitely comeback.

I had a great stay here. As a tourist, I thought it was in a great location. Its not on the beach, but its not a bad walk. You are close to the canals. To start an LA drive from it was perfect. Everyone working here that I encountered was great. The food was good, the drinks were good. Id 110% stay here again. It wasnt cheap but its a nice place.Ive got cons: $50 to park seemed unreasonable. I parked in the lot on the other side of the street, and it was fine.The rental bikes were also really expensive for guests. I would have preferred to rent from you. I paid less for a bike down the street.The $30 destination fee seems a little Busch league. I know,,, I get a $30 credit towards my $100 dinner. But for 2 for breakfasts, we were able to turn that into a positive for the consumer. The food and service at the restaurant were great.Thank you for a wonderful few days.

City view was covered by a palm tree but that wasnt good or bad. Made it feel very tropical. Thermostat would light up randomly during the night then turn off. We just threw a towel over it. Lovely hotel, comfortable, clean. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. Would stay again and recommend to friends/family.

This hotel is very overpriced for what you get. I’m surprised it’s still running to be honest. Rooms are falling apart, wifi is slow, food at the restaurant isn’t good. Pool is noisy on a busy street and shaded most of the time. I had to call maintenance twice in one day because something fell from the ceiling of the bathroom and the mini fridge wasn’t working. Only giving 1 star to the staff who are friendly and quick to try and resolve any issues.

My room did not have a working toilet during my two night stay. I left for the day at 7am the first morning it stopped working. Day two, broken again after it was supposedly fixed the day before. Closest bathroom was down the elevator in the basement. The hotel itself is very dated and dirty. When I let the front desk know about my experience, I received nothing more than an apology. It’s truly sad how poor customer service has become in the travel industry.

I had a great time chilling here for the day. They have all the amenities you look for at a hotel. I checked in pretty late and my friends and I went to the bar for a little night cap. I was cool. The bartender was awesome. She kept the drinks coming and kept us laughing the whole time. The room was nice and clean. If you’re in this area this is a nice hotel to stay at. They only offer valet parking and it’s expensive AF. This is why I took off a star. Parking across the street is only $15 and you can come and go which the hotel tried to tell me you had to pay every time.

The staff and service really sets this property apart!I specifically want to mention manager Jason Weiss. He was exceptionally accommodating and responsive in taking care of an issue. Also wanted to give thanks to Mary Padgett for assisting. Thanks again!We visited during late June. Checkin was a breeze, and staff happily brought us extra towels, etc. Clean, spacious junior suite and two queen executive suite. Excellent location in close proximity to restaurants, shopping and of course, the airport.M club was excellent. Great breakfast every morning. The pool area was excellent. Also an hot tub. Also enjoyed a stop by the bar. Definitely a step above!We will see you again!

Stayed here for 4 days, overall quite happy. Location is close to the marina, and there are some good restaurants nearby. But since we had work meetings in the downtown area, the drive was quite painful. Exceeded my expectations! The room was perfect. Spacious with places to sit. Bed was perfect. I noticed they used duvet covers instead of sheets and blankets so you can rest assured that the bed is CLEAN. Location is beautiful and close to Venice beach and so much moreThe service was outstanding, personable, helpful. More than once a staff member went out if their way to make us comfortable.The restaurant breakfast is so delicious. Lots of options, and everything was well cooked with quality ingredients. The bar is really fun, with good drinks at night. Theres outdoor seating with fire pits to hang out at.I ended up paying for the resort fee which gave me a package for my stay. I booked directly from the Marriott website and I dont remember choosing the resort fee but it was a great deal. $30 for food daily, high speed internet, free paddle boarding and beach stuff, a daily sparkling drink. Beyond worth the $140 I paid for 4 days of resort fee.Only one area troubled me and that was paying for wifi. I had wifi with my package, but it seems fishy for a 4 star hotel to make guests pay for wifi.Highly recommend!

November 2022:Stayed here for three nights during the week. Overall, was very happy with my stay. Would definitely stay here again.Pros:Beds were comfortable. Pillows were fairly comfortable (3 out of 5 ⭐ for the pillows). Rooms were clean and spacious. Had a nice L shaped sofa.Gym was very nice. Good variety of weights and cardio machines.Service was very friendly. Valet parking attendants were very nice.Location was great. Half mile near the beach ⛱️🏖️.Cons:Not many. Valet parking is the only reasonable option and cost $49 per day. Probably my only complaint.

We get a really pleasant experience with receptionist Blanca. There was a lot of noise in the room we stayed that we didnt sleep well. Blanca went above and beyond to help us solve the issue and chance to a different room for us. I am impressed by her client services and problem solving attitude. Great hotel and great staffs. Do yourself a favor, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Although the rooms are ok, the service was terrible from the moment we arrived. First the person on the front desk was completely useless, couldn’t help us with our room needs (which we had booked long in advance, traveling with two young kids) had to sleep out son on the sofa and they couldn’t even bring us a blanket or duvet “we are sold out” was their answer. The first room they gave had a strong weed odor, they switched our room. The crib for the baby is tiny and horrible, it has a plastic mattress and no mattress cover. Worst experience in a hotel. The only helpful person was David the bellboy, he was the only friendly person we encountered.

The rooms have a nice, roomy, modern design, but like most Marriott hotels, there are some minor cosmetic maintenance issues (baseboard in hallway needing repairs, wallpaper in bathroom peeling on edges). The pool was lovely and well cleaned. The restaurant for breakfast was delicious and wait staff super friendly. Most of the staff was great, but there was a problem with my reservation (put me for 1 night instead of the 2 I had reserved) and when I went to fix it, the staff at first didnt seem to want to help at all - like I was causing problems. That was a minor blip to otherwise good experience.

It is right across from Mothers Beach, and the view is amazing! Its a short walk crossing over from the hotel to the sand. This hotel offers valet parking. The staff is super friendly and generous. The hotel is clean and has a lot to offer their guests. Next time we visit we just might stay here again.

Stayed here for a work event. Its a fine hotel, nothing special. But the location is super convenient. We could walk to dinner and cold stone and the beach. The front desk staff was not helpful (there was confusion about the company card) which was disappointing but it all worked out!!

Freshly renovated. The room was really nice. Probably my best hotel stay so far in California. I like it better than the courtyard marina del Rey.The room was very quiet and I couldnt hear loud footsteps above me or people in the room next to me.The service was good and the breakfast at the restaurant was great. It is valet only for parking so plan accordingly if that is an issue.The surprise on top was the spray they provide in the rooms to help aid in falling asleep. I was skeptical but it worked. And have used it at home. Great job Marriott.

Service was excellent, rooms were clean, spacious, modern, and it’s quiet in the rooms for a good night’s sleep (I’ve been at one too many hotels where you can hear guests next door entering / exiting their rooms). The only thing that was lacking was the water pressure - showering was not super satisfying with the weak water pressure. Despite that, would definitely book here again!

This is an older hotel, they have already started remodeling the rooms. The renovation project is in process. But it wasn’t loud - we never heard any construction noise.The location in Marina Del Rey is fantastic - right across the street from Mother’s Beach, 10 minute walking distance to Venice Beach, and Killer Shrimp is around the corner. We even walked from Fisherman’s Village back to the hotel (a 40-minute walk). The lobby restaurant has good food and cocktails.The rooms are dated but the beds are super comfy. We slept really well. The hotel/rooms are very clean. There is no vent in the bathroom which was a disadvantage. Another recommendation would be replacing the coffee makers and blow dryers - both looked ancient.Housekeeping did a fantastic job. The front desk customer service needs improvement.The courtyard has tables with fire pits. We loved gathering around the fire in the evenings while having a cocktail.Overall, a nice place in Marina Del Rey.

The interior renovation is very modern and TV is very big and new. The issue is the bathroom stinks. It has a lasting odor like a public bathroom. Housekeeping cleans the bathroom and the stink doesn’t go away, as well as the dark stains on the floor tiles. Seems like from years of un-thorough cleaning. I’ve stayed at cheaper hotels that never had this kind of odor. You can tell how low the sanitary standard is by looking at the elevator floor, full of old dirt and mold. Just…I wouldn’t risk booking another Marriott again because they are not consistent with cleaning. 😖

We originally checked in with a sweet woman named Alexandria and from the beginning the experience was excellent until the AC In the room would not cooperate and would not go under 72 degrees although the thermostat was set to 65 degrees. We called that night and the front desk sent an engineer (Dusty) whom was the friendliest and most caring guy I have ever experienced at any Marriott hotel. Dusty went above and beyond and made several trips back and forth and set the temperature even cooler and in the end brought a high powered fan to help circulate the air along with some cold drinks! While that helped, regrettably it still did not get the room cooler then 70 degrees and we were not able to sleep comfortably. Alexandria went above and beyond to extend my checkout time and was very adamant on making sure we were satisfied to say the least. We loved the location and had an amazing view of the waterfront marina and honestly would go back because of how much the staff seems to care about the customer experience and the AC was ultimately out of their control as the hotel was just renovated but from what we understand the AC is next on the list. We hope to return in the near future and hopefully the hotel will have new AC units that can keep up with the square footage as our room was huge!Cannot say enough great things about Alexandria or Dusty, they both made our stay a great experience and should be considered an asset to any employer. I work professional in elevating customer experience and they are the perfect example of showing characteristics of keeping the customer happy and without them I would have ranked my stay a 2 or 3.

The Hotel undergoing a renewal which means there is a lot of construction noise. They emailed 2 days before informing us of the noise and giving us the opportunity to cancel. As the email said the noise was only between 9am and 5pm we didnt think it would be a problem. It was. The construction noise was unbelievably loud, there was a guy using an angle grinder about 30 feet away. I went to reception to complain and said the email said work work cease at 5pm. One of the staff came around the desk quite confrontational and said the email only said the email only mentioned work in the guest rooms, not the lobby. So basically, I had no right to complain about the noise at 7.30pm because they had not told me there would not be any noise. They were seriously rude and took no action whatsoever.After checking out I got an email from the Hotel saying they hope we had had a good stay and to let them know if there was anything we were not satisfied with. So I replied and said I thought the staff were rude and that I had complained about the noise while I was there. She didnt even have the manners to reply so I guess the rudeness starts at the top. If you want to feel valued and treated with respect as a customer I would recommend giving this Hotel a miss.

I’m a platinum elite member. The hotel stingily refused my Suite Night upgrade, even though the requested room type was available 5 days before stay.Standard room at check-in, even though a partial ocean view room was available in inventory. No real elite recognition.The hotel charges $45 per night for valet parking. Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on this. Hotel does not do a good job of disclosing this. No mention at check out. The valet staff was also weird when I asked about checking in and wanting to take my bags to my room without having them park my car.The fitness center is a disaster. No towels are provided and no sanitary wipes available anywhere. Also no 5 or 10 lb weights were available, which was also odd. Not everyone is a beefcake.Room itself does not include body wash, which at the price point charged makes little sense.My stay was for 2 nights. The morning after night one, housekeeping barged into the room at 10:30 am to ask if we were checking out that day or if we wanted the room cleaned. This was despite the Do Not Disturb sign placed on the door. Housekeeping was quite forceful about this and it was shockingly bad.Stay at the Ritz down the road for a much better experience or even the regular Marriott for not a lot more.I’m sure the GM or someone from the property will post a generic response after my review (this is what they do), but just know that they aren’t addressing any of these concerns (read the other comments/complaints). I’d be very surprised if I heard anything further despite the awful experience.

Overall I wasn’t super impressed by the room. There was noticeable damage to the bed and scratches on the frame making it look rather old. The carpets were stained needed a deep clean and overall the room didn’t feel very clean and smelled stale. The mattress was overly soft. There was no Starbucks in the room but you serve it downstairs for an additional 4.00 (most hotels I stay at have at least Starbucks in the rooms at this point including the Marriott Copley Boston or have free Starbucks in the lobby). When I checked in I was told there was no maid service for my stay. I told the front desk at that point I would need coffee, Water, and towels for every day I was there but neither were delivered to my room or given to me at check in. I had to come down the next morning to get it myself. I was told there were bikes there so rented one for a ride. It was a beach cruiser though and not really a bike. It also needed some work although I was able to ride it. Most of the hotels I’ve stayed at locally have nice bikes for visitors these looked pretty old and needed air in the tires. I’ve also put in a price match guarantee I haven’t heard back on yet since I was able to find the rate at 195/night at other websites and the Marriott website rate was 224/night. A bunch of the Hand Sanitizer stations around the hotel were empty/didn’t work (note by the fitness center).

Update March 2022: stayed here recently and the rooms have gone through a much needed massive refresh and it looks great. Lots of modern fishes updated cabinetry and flooring and furniture. The design is thoughtful and up to date. The bathroom also went through a great refresh. The whole room has everything you need with all the outlets you can think of including usb c. The room sizes have not changed and its a great thing. You will have room to move and work in the room. I had the Marina view and it was quite refreshing. The gym is still going through a refresh and will be moved to the lobby level at some point but for now its still in the lower level. The M Lounge is open and for platinum and titanium there is free breakfast! You can also rent the electric bikes for $75/half dayEnjoyed my stay overall. Staff is very kind and accomdating. They were kind enough to provide free access to the lounge during our stay despite us not having status with the hotel . The rooms are a bit dated but the views are still great especially on the higher floors.The lounge area and the common space seemed to be recently refreshed so it matches what you would expect in most Marriott hotels.The beds are comfortable and youll get good sleep at the hotel.Good option to visit in the area. I would consider staying here again just in off-peak seasons

Rob at the front desk was very rude. I called a few hours prior to the reservation and a young lady told me that she added my sister to the reservation and she would be able to check in. As soon as my sister arrived he denied the reservation saying that we had 1 too many reservations. As Marriott employees we are allowed 2 family member rates and 1 family and friend rate. I love staying at Marriott properties all over the US but I have to say that I am not happy with the room we were given today. We are Marriott Rewards Members and we always get room upgrades and clean rooms at that but this hotel we had an issue. We unloaded our suitcases and put our toiletries in the bathroom to find that the mirror was not cleaned today or whenever they cleaned the room last. It looks like plaque from flossing and toothpaste spatter on the mirror. The bed was not made properly of which the bottom sheet was barely on the one side of the bed and we would have ended up on the mattress. There was a fly flying around in our room as well, one of the towels was not hanging on the towel rack very well or folded neatly (I know this is being quite picky but attention to detail please). They moved us to a room two doors down. My husband had to fix the sheet on the bed in this room as well because this one also was coming off the mattress. We went to take a shower when we got back and the room only had 1 wash cloth for two people. Come on!!! On the bright side; we had a beautiful view of the Marina and they ended up giving us a credit for at the bar. Their maid service needs training. The hotel staff are not particularly friendly. Upon checkin I noticed that it was very hit or miss. Nobody told me about any of the amenities or the breakfast club. Guests have said it’s not particularly good and better to go across the street to the Cheesecake Factory. I overheard this information from another guest at checkin. The rooms are renovated but it is very bare and doesn’t feel luxurious at all. The bathroom doesn’t have any individualized products. The lobby feels like a courtyard style marriott. There is no real restaurant or coffee bar on site. Just self serve / tiny kiosk for Starbucks but it’s only regular coffee. The hotel is on a busy street so no matter what view you have it’s going to overlook roads and parking lots. The marina isn’t much to look at. It’s a very muddy area and unfortunately the water levels are much lower than they should be so it’s a very sad sight. This hotel is rated four starts but overall feels like it is max three stars. I’m very disappointed In marriott for marketing this hotel as luxurious and marking up the price.

What we didnt know was apparently Venice beach had tons of homeless people and crimes during the pandemic and apparently it was one of the most dangerous beaches in the US. As tourists, we were kinda like nervous not gonna lie, but long story short, our stopover was a great start to our honeymoon. Alexandrea, the concierge at the hotel, was amazing. She gave us insights to around the hotel and the area and she was super helpful towards us the hungover Canadians on honeymoon. The room was nothing extraordinary so it was alright but the service by Alexandrea (and the bartenders downstairs) were very memorable so wed definitely return just for that.

Stayed here as part of a conference being held onsite.This was by far the rudest, most unhelpful front desk staff out of any Bonvoy hotel we’ve stayed at. They needed a printed copy of a discount code, which no other property has requested. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were rudely informed that it’s printed on the directions and that we could go over to the business center to print out a copy. When I asked if they could print it if we emailed it, I was informed they didn’t accept outside email “for security purposes”. I informed them that I didn’t want our email credentials stolen by using their computers but I was “assured” they were wiped after each use (not true). I requested the manager but they never appeared.The room was ok but nothing special. The air conditioning never cooled the room down sufficiently.We had requested foam pillows multiple times and they never appeared.While in the room, one of the electrical outlets popped and sparks actually came out of it. Nothing was plugged in.The hallway right in front of our room had garbage on the carpet, despite the cleaners having just cleaned the room.Edit #1: Finally spoke with the manager after multiple requests. We informed him of the various concerns and he said he’d have the building engineer check the outlet. We waited for a while just in case the outlet was going to cause more issues and start a fire, but no one ever showed up.Edit #2: We left the room for about 4 hours and no foam pillows showed up. We called the front desk again and spoke with Mary. She was great. She had pillows sent up quickly and had the on-duty engineer come by to check out the electrical outlet.Edit #3: Our card key didn’t work. Went to the front desk for help. The person at the front desk seemed bothered that we needed help. The card key was reprogrammed. Went back upstairs and the key still didn’t work. Went back downstairs and again, appeared like we were inconveniencing the front desk person. Apparently the battery for the lock needed to be replaced so she was going to call the engineer to help. Back upstairs we went and waited. And waited. And waited. Went back downstairs again and the same front desk person was incredulous that the engineer never arrived. She went in the back for a few minutes and came back to say she called the engineer, and that he was going to come. We waited downstairs for a while longer and went back to our room. It worked. Interestingly, there was no manager on-site.Overall, not impressed. The service isn’t up to what we’ve come to expect from Bonvoy hotels but the guys working at the valet are great and should also be in charge of the front desk.I’m still not changing my rating.

I stayed here 2 years ago and have been back multiple times. The rooms are spacious, the hotel is nice, and you can likely catch sunset or sunrise from your room. I love Marriotts but my stay was so good here and I loved the location so much, that I moved across the street.Also make sure if you park across the street that you buy parking in advance otherwise you will be ticked. At that point, the valet will be cheaper. You have been warned.

Location is everything with this hotel. I usually stay for work, but often venture down to Venice and walk to beach or run on the pier. There are a number of good restaurants around, and pretty central to this part of LA. Great view of the Marina side as well. Hotel is older and could use a remodel, but it has charm and a great lobby area. Staff has always been helpful, and valet is great if youre willing to pay to park. Be sure to tip!

Was pretty impressed with my stay here.The fitness center is pretty great for a hotel gym. You won’t be able to do big lifts like bench or squats but they have pretty much everything else.The room service is super quick and they have a really good variety of things to order. I also like that they package it nicely in a bag instead of wheeling in the awkward table that takes up your entire room.The general vibe walking in is nice with the bar to the left, though I have to say there’s a really off-putting odor when you walk in. It’s like a really cheap carpet cleaner or something. The revolving door in the front lobby also suddenly stops (as a safety mechanism) and its actually really annoying. A knocked off a star for both of these things.

Horrible experience. Signs in the emergency stairwell that say things in the building can cause cancer and birth defects. No signs that say it is an emergency stairwell just sign that say stairs. Looked like mold growing on the unfinished ceilings in said stairwell. Our first day we had a helpful nice person at the front desk who gave us some much needed advice about transportation in the area. Anytime we went back to the front desk for any questions after got treated horribly. When we had a question about a charge we got told we would not get help and treated extremely rudely in an unnecessary unprofessional manor. Ended up avoiding the front desk to avoid insults. I could fill another page but sufficient to say every aspect of my stay didnt stray far from being just aweful. Eventually we postponed our flight and happily booked a room elsewhere so we could end our vacation on a happier note.Overall this was an absolutely horrible experience. The worst ever I have had, and being a previous flight attendant with a lot of hotel stays this experience and it being the worst is a hard title to win, something they managed to do with flying colors.

So 1st of all they don’t wash sheets and pillow cases on a regular basis. I left my pillow there by accident. The pillow case is white but the pillow is damn near older than me and is a yellowish color. My husband goes back not two hours after they cleaned that room and they haven’t seen my pillow. As of that’s not weird enough they don’t have a parking lot and don’t tell you online when you are looking for the best rates. You can valet at $50 per night or park across the 4 LANE HIGHWAY @ $15 per night. No more Marriott’s for me.

Outstanding stay! I was in town for a business conference and I decided to stay the weekend before and the weekend after to relax. The hotel is beautiful, my room was very comfortable and it was a quick 10 min walk to the beach. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and food provided for our conference was exceptional! While all of the staff were polite and helpful I want to specifically mention a gentleman named Louis who took care of our snacks and beverage tables while we had meetings in the conference rooms. Louis was polite, very kind and took the time to chat with me for a few minutes one morning. He brought a smile to my face and I just want Marriott to know what a delightful person he is and what an excellent job he does for your customers. I will certainly visit your establishment again in the future and on our company survey I voted to have it at your hotel again next year.

I love views of Santa Monica; it is gorgeous! The infused water bar was a nice addition since I couldnt make my own while staying. The service is very welcoming and outgoing. Its very tasty and comes out quick. The drinks were good too.The top floor has a club that can be loud. If youre sensitive to noise, make sure your room is not under it or next to it. Lots of attitude, no respect and no accountability. I gave ample opportunity to correct what went wrong and it just kept getting worse. I could never recommend this hotel or stay here again. Management followed up with me, but I just felt excuses were being made and was told “there’s more than one perspective here”. This hotel should be ashamed of itself with the state of it’s guest rooms. We paid $349 a night for connecting “Marina View King” and $359 a night for a connecting “Marina View Double” room - so that’s $708 + $45 for parking = $753 a night for a family of 4. We got two absolutely disgusting, dirty, dingy rooms on top of the valet parking. Clearly the photos advertised were taken 15+ years ago when they did their last refresh. As you can see, the carpet is filthy, bathrooms are disgusting - we are having to wear shoes to shower, and the air conditioning vents are covered in dirt and dust. On top of that, my son got food poisoning from the restaurant downstairs and spent an entire day vomiting. Honestly one of the worst experiences that I have ever had in a hotel. My advice - stick to Hilton and avoid this place at all costs.

Note that I was traveling for business.The service during the check-in process wasn’t very friendly and apparently they accidentally signed me up for the green program (no room cleaning), which meant that I arrived back at my room after a long day of meetings to no clean towels, toiletries etc.A few random low value items went missing (my ear plug case, a small pot of moisturizer). Perhaps these items were accidentally swept up in cleaning, but it was weird that they disappeared (I spent over a hour looking for them in the room, definitely gone).The hotel is freezing cold! My experience here was very nice and it was my first time in LA. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and said welcome back each time we came back. When the printers in the computer area wouldnt work, the concierge personally printed my boarding passes from the main computer for me.The beds were very comfy and clean. The shower had good pressure and the room was a good size.The views from our 7th floor room were spectacular! The location was really good too. It was about a 15 minute walk to Abbott Kinney and a 10 minute walk to Venice Beach and the pier. You could easily take an uber though and be there in a couple of minutes.Next time I want to visit west LA/Santa Monica, I wont think twice about staying here.

First, they wouldnt let us borrow the cart unless we take it down after (mind you, I was with an elderly person with 2 50 Lbs luggages, and carry ons) - saying it was the ONLY ONE they had (LOL). Good spot for a short stay. Great bar service. One of the best margaritas I have had. Slightly pricy so you better off to go for a walk. Great location 10 min walk to Venice beach.Good rooms great view and running track nearby for some early morning PT.

The hotel is in a great location, about a 7 minute walk from Venice Beach. The rooms are a good size and the hotel as a whole is very clean, with a great outdoor area. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience, would stay there again

Excellent hotel, very comfortable all around, especially the lounge areas. The drinks they have on the counter by the entrance are fantastic, great flavors. Pool is typical depth, no more than 5 feet.

We stayed here one night. The location is nice, being close to the Venice Beach Pier, and the service and quality were very good. Its what youd expect from a Marriott. Make sure to give them your loyalty number to get free WiFi.

Awful experience for such an expensive hotel. No free parking, no free wifi unless you jump thru some hoops (they tried hard to charge me for it), no free breakfast, no service for dinner (it took 25 mins for a server to acknowledge me but by then I ordered Doordash). Ive never been in a hotel that didnt offer any of those things complimentary and with such terrible service.

Beautiful view of Mothers Beach from the Rooftop Sinder bar. The day I was there three local breweries were offering flights or pitchers for $9.Wine prices are higher than most other local restaurant happy hour prices. The happy hour here is at 8:00 pm, which is an odd hour especially if you intend to go out for dinner.
