I love this place! Toby and the rest of the staff is always so welcoming and pleasant. The chill vibe with the incredible views plus free, easy parking is impossible to beat. Their Saginaw beer is my go-to but I also love all of the innovation, with the seasonal varieties.

Loved this place. The beer was good, wings with Shipwright’s Porter BBQ Sauce was bangin! The poutine was good but don’t expect it to be traditional.The location is great and they have a awesome outdoor space on the water. I liked that they have lots of different stickers for sale, and they had two dart boards.Highly recommend!

This is a great place to have lunch if you are looking for an outside place next to the water with some yummy food. All of us at our table ordered cheese burgers or sandwiches, and they all looked and tasted delicious. I had the cheeseburger and it hit the spot with a nice refreshing cider. They are also dog friendly, so a big plus for us. Staff was friendly, helpful, and fast!

I came here because of an invite from my cousin. I was not feeling well so I decided to go with an hamburger and fries. It was great. My cousin had the walnut salad. The view is incredible. The ferry that leaves from the bay has happy hour. The restaurant has beer on tap and wine. The place is noisy and the music is too loud for my taste. But I was not feeling great.

We visited the taproom on a Saturday night, had some beer and food and a great night! The ferry terminal taproom has amazing views of the harbor and Mare Island across the way.The beer menu is wide and has something for everyone. The food, just the same. Get the deviled eggs! They were amazing. The fries are also really good! We all ordered burgers and they were large and tasted amazing!Highly recommend this place for a casual night out with a group!

Service is Awesome! Fast and Friendly. Been living here my whole life and finally got a chance to come here. The beers are good. I suggest trying the beer flights first before going for a full glass. The IPA is my favorite. The atmosphere of the place is great plus a great view of the waterfront depending on where you sit. Highly recommended this place and will be coming back.

Awesome location for Vallejo. Right next to the Ferry Terminal, and the marinas. Clean, organized and friendly staff. Lots of comfortable seating and darts. TIPS: Sit outside if you can. Try the Sampler Flight, and don’t forget to close out your tab at end of night.

If that werent all that a place needs then it had the perfect atmosphere to compliment the marina locale and vibe as well...I love that they kept so much of the original building and its history as a part of the character for each type of brew they offer. Although the food menu isnt extensive, its clear they have a top notch chef making the most of thier kitchen...the food is an affordable treat and presented with love for taste. Light ales, dessert heavy stouts, and a few more great brews in between...I come here everytime I visit, and dont forgive yourself if you dont.

Solid beer selection. They always have at least one of everything on tap. Whatever youre looking for, theyll likely have at least one on tap. Save maybe a sour. Food is pretty good too. I feel like its much improved over the last couple years. And its always nice to have a beer on a patio on the water.

The beers are good, but the food can be hit or miss. Got the mac and cheese a few times, and every single time it was different. The last time was strangely watery with slightly melted cheese lumps on overcooked pasta. Maybe go for a sandwich instead - those are safely run of the mill. I mean they’re nice. Nice. Not THRILLING, but nice. Head to the island for better food (and views).

Wife and I went here for lunch yesterday. She had the Korean style fried sandwich and I had the pastrami Reuben. Some of the best sandwiches I have had, amazing! I paired it with the Benny Suggs Red Ale which went great with the pastrami. My wife is not a beer drinker and she had the cider instead, it’s not a sweet cider so she was not enamored with it as she likes her drinks a little on the sweet side. She also had the chocolate stout pudding which was rich and decadent, her words not mine as I did not try it. Fries that came with were on point too. It was an absolutely beautiful afternoon on the patio by the water, perfect weather and a fantastic lunch!

You sit wherever but order food and drink at the bar and they give you a buzzer when its time to pick up your food from the pick up window. Indoor and outdoor seating. This is the Go To place that we locals love. Your view is looking through the wall of windows, or sitting outside enjoying being right on the peer..Enjoy some awsome craft brews, wine,And some crazy amazing food. I have been to this cozy spot on the water during a visit to CA with my son who lives there.Me living in ID, I was wanting to by a birthday gift certificate for my Son!A keg of their many choices of beers! Wasn’t real sure how to make happen being out of state?Dana was amazing!! Went there to hang out with a bunch of friends. Food was good, but to be expected of bar food. Ordered a Cesar salad and it was good. Not too much dressing, but they did run out of dressing. The outside seating was fine. Dogs were there and they did provide bowls for water. There were a few private parties, but they were blocked off.Overall I think Id go there again. Not a beer drinker so I cant comment on that, but noticed people ordering flights of beer (4-6 small ones). Staff was glad to take your done dishes and cups away for you.

Great place for some brews while waiting for your ferry or just to take in the sights of the Mare Island Straits. Nice ambience and the food was good also.Met an old friend here for Saturday Lunch and catch up over some brews and it was great. I had the porter and the 2 Towns bright Cider (not their brew but a very good brewery try their Made Marion Cider if you get a chance! 🍻) and my friend had the Hydraulic Sandwich IPA (He said it was good but Im not an IPA guy so Ill take his word for it! 😂) we also had wings. I had the Buffalo wings and my buddy had the House BBQ wings. Both were good!Nice place to hang out and have lunch near the water and Im glad V Towne got 0laces like this now.

Great beer and wonderful staff. The food was good though somewhat inconsistent - loved the Poutine and their Beet Salad special. We came back a few days later and tried the Fried Korean Chicken Sammie - it had potential but was over fried and thus dry. Definitely worth coming back for the views and relaxed ambiance.

What happened to this place over the years? I gave a second star for the decent brews, but my last three dining experiences ranged from disappointing to gross. My recommendation is to go for some scenic beers at the waterfront and leave when you’re ready to eat. I loved everything they offered when their menu was small (approx 2017). They had an exceptional grilled chicken sandwich and while some fries would have been nice, it was so good that the tiny side of chips didn’t prevent me from getting one regularly. The last time we stopped in we went to the Taproom on Mare Island, sat on the awesome patio and got beers and food. I ordered chicken tacos and got cold corn tortillas with wads of refrigerator-cold shredded chicken and some meh slaw on it. I would have been mad if I’d paid $5 for that but I paid 3 times that! It was literally gross and I don’t think I’m alone in assuming that it would have been served hot. Even if this was a quality control issue, I won’t be chancing it again given the consistent decline.

Beautiful site to see. The entire facility is amazing with all the old characters from the Mare Island days. Fun for the whole family. Beer is excellent… now the food just doesn’t fit the bill. Bland, no flavor not very much to the menu especially for children (during the day) need to rethink the food as that’s as important as the brew

Always love this place. Even met my fiance there a few years back!We had a very covid friendly dinner, just after we got out food we had another diner start arguing with staff about not wanting to be told to wear a mask-- we stood up for the staff and got into a heated argument that others also got involved with. The instigator was told to leave (they hadnt even gotten in line to order their food yet) and the staff members thanked us for sticking up for them.Delicious food and beverages, lovely atmosphere, great views.

A nice place for brews, but the food is mediocre in both selection and taste. They do only beer and wine, so its a taproom, not a bar. Otherwise its decently priced and the staff are friendly and engaging. They have a dart board as well as multiple televisions for watching sports and what have you. They also are right on the waterfront, so they have some of the best views in Vallejo. You can watch the water, the sunset, and occasional boats go by.

Great location on the waterfront of Mare Island, Vallejo. I recommend a stroll before or after your visit. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and they were really busy. You order your drinks/food from the bar which can be a bit of a wait when the bartenders are so busy. Nevertheless, everyone was super friendly so its not a big deal. I had their beer flights that day as its been a while since weve been here, so I dont remember what I like. The Mud Puppy brown ale and the Monomoy Lager were the best from the selection I got. We also tried the Korean BBQ chicken wings which were really tasty.

Love the atmosphere its a great place to go and sit by the water and get lost in watching the waves or going with a group and sitting at the big large picnic tables or sofas and enjoying company.The beer selections are good. Food selection is less then mediocre and they are often sold out. The bbq wings taste like ketchup poured over top.The servers seem friendly but stressed. I have the seen manager go through mood swings making customers feel uncomfortable speaking in a rude monotone condescending manner.Often not smiling and just behaving as if it was a burden to be at work.

This place is really great. This is the best that Vallejo has to offer in terms of night life and culture as far as Im concerned. People are here to have a good time together. Open seating, good food, craft beers and wine, non-alcoholic beers and other great options for us non-drinkers. I went on a night with live music and it was perfect. Shout out to the Brian Travis Band, great show!

Im a big fan of the microbrews. What is great about this place is that its right on water! If you ever take the ferry to SF, you have to stop by to grab a pint. The atmosphere is great. The people are friendly and the staff is excellent. I highly recommend this place for meeting up with friends, having a drink, and hanging out by the water. No complaints at all!

Oof, rough. This place has been on our must check out list for a bit so we finally made it over. Location is pretty cool in that theres stuff to look at but cant imagine how unbearable it must be in the afternoon as exposed as it is. Beer is...fine-ish. Brewer clearly prefers sour beers, I tried the blonde and pilsner and both have that strong skuny hop process they prefer and isnt my cup of tea. Food menu is deceptive. They use a lot of fancy words to describe subpar bar food. My Caesar Wrap was watery and took 35 minutes to make supposedly due to a machine error that didnt effect anyone elses order. The Mac n cheese was coagulated grossness and the wings lacked the ordered Buffalo sauce. Cant imagine ever coming back. If youre waiting for the ferry and like sour beer, youre set. Otherwise hard skip.

This brew pub has evolved over the years to a Vallejo institution. Not as friendly as it once was but a great place for excellent beer.Update - One of the key managers is reported leaving. Cant be good news.Gone a number of times over the past few weeks. Lots of new faces but also some staples. Still great IPA and one of the best porters Ive ever had.Make new friends and see old ones every time.

Love this place, one suggestion tho.YOU NEED A SERVER! It doesnt need to be restaurant style but if you had at least one or two servers walking around, we could at least get refills or more food on the tab without having to get up. This would also likely raise your average ticket price since your customers will most likely purchase more and also more convenient for your customers.

My main issue was I ordered the shrimp and cheesy grits, and those were absolutely not worth $16. Those grits were cream of wheat, not real grits, and obviously Im supposed to eat this dish with a fork, right? They left the tails on the shrimp, the shell part. Yeah, thats poor presentation.

Wife and I always get the Coal Shed Stout and Shipwrights Porter and both are excellent. The food always smells so good but personally I cant abide by rhubarb ginger chutney on a grilled cheese. Thats just weird, not into it. But the beers are great!

If not I would have left 0 stars for the lack of management the lack of concern for all these kids running around this is called a brewing company, yet the excuse I was given was its a restaurant.Last time I checked, a restaurant has servers walking around making sure their tables are taken care of, not once was my table ever approached by a waitress or any other type of person that works there.In fact if you look at other reviews, they make the comment it would be nice to have servers kind of like a restaurant. When pointed out that this was a huge liability, again the bartender showed no concern even stated this is a restaurant.Nowhere on their menus, their sign outside does it say restaurant. It says Mare Island Brewing Company Tap Room, therefore, with alcohol being served, children should not be allowed in there! And ill mannered children with their parents drinking not paying attention to what their ill mannered children are doing should be banned.Avoid at all cost unless you like children running in to you and this was not early in the day when I visited it it was after 7 oclock at night.

The place is openly connected to the ferry building but you can’t sit in their seats unless you purchase from them. I couldn’t see anything from the inside that clearly distinguished it as a separate business, nor any signs saying seating is for customers only. Maybe there is, but again, not clearly present. We were sitting, waiting for the ferry and a worker approached me and let me know that we couldn’t sit there unless we bought something. Company policy. That’s fine, and makes sense in a busy, packed house. But the place was mostly empty. That’s okay. I wasn’t a customer today, but they also ensured I won’t be one in the future.

Apparently this establishment will not accept Canadian ID’s as proof of age, sometimes.Funny thing, my partner ordered a beer with her Canadian drivers license and was served without issue. However, when I ordered from a different female bartender, I was told that she “can’t accept Canadian ID’s”.It seems odd that I am allowed to rent a car in the United States with my ID but fail to meet the requirements of one crotchety bartender.Safe to say, I was disappointed to visit a “Brewing Company” and denied access to the beer.
