Excellent service. Decent food and drinks.Biscuits were tasty. Chimichanga changed recipes or something. It was ok. Mostly potatoes and scrambled eggs.I ordered extra spicy margarita. Was good but not too spicy.

We were looking for brunch on the way back to San Diego from LAX. My husband found this place and it was a cute one! The brunch food is fusion style, kinda different than a regular brunch place. The foods are nicely cooked and beautifully plated. But I won’t say it’s very delicious, I might love the normal style brunch better which is more homey and hearty. But this place is definitely great for dating or friends gathering.

I had a reservation here with my wife for a Valentine’s prix fixe dinner. The hostess team were immediately attentive, and as soon as we checked in, we were greeted and brought to our table. Our server was polite, knowledgeable, & made rotations often, and she was quite observant for timing of checking in with us. In between each course was a short gap, which was excellent service to us, especially on a busy holiday evening with a full house of customers.The signature cocktail was perfect, each plate was smaller in proportions, but not too small! I enjoyed the variety very much and everything tasted so flavorful the presentation was spectacular.The tartare was best I ever had, the skirt steak was cooked perfect and the dessert was exceptional.As far as the final bill, I was satisfied and did not think it was too expensive given the neighborhood of restaurants which can be quite overpriced in Manhattan Beach.Highly recommend this place, and will return

Monday night arrived at 8:30. Hostess politely informed us of a likely power outage in 30 minutes. Waitstaff was prompt, helpful and on target. He crossed off the items not possible due to the Grill being shut down in anticipation of power outage. He brought our appetizer quickly and was super attentive. We ordered the cheese bacon biscuits. Two Flavorful biscuits arrived with honey butter. They were filling. We then shared the scallops which for me were overpowered by the other ingredients. I prefer them a tad crispy on the outside which they were not. We ordered a side of the carrots but they were also killed by way too many other ingredients.

Food is good. But not exceeding my expectation. I gave 4 star for them to improve.Specially fried chicken. It should be special to Americans, but too normal to me who are very familiar to Korean chicken. It used be exceptional. Mussels was special and good.

Great spot. Seasonal menu so you can always expect something new and delicious. Can’t go wrong with the gem salad. The corn fritters were an unexpected treat. And the sticky toffee pudding was… chefs kiss!

The second time back here after 6 months or so and everything was exactly as good as the last time! That statement means more than I can explain but Ill try - I travel all around the US for work and at 90% of the restaurants I like have deteriorated in the food quality, hence staying as good as I remembered it to be was a very pleasant surprise.

Wife and I had a great impromptu dinner the other night. Food was great, and nicely done. Nice variety of items and great use of seasonal produce. We have been for brunch several times, but never for dinner. I would recommend getting several small plates so you can try more of the menu. We will definitely be back.

Ive been to Manhattan Beach Post in Los Angeles several times now, and each visit has been fantastic. The Korean Chicken Sandwich initially drew me in with its perfect blend of spicy and sweet flavors. The Crudo, always fresh and seasoned to perfection, has been a consistent favorite.The drinks here are exceptional, particularly the Manhattan cocktail, expertly mixed by Ricky. His skill and friendly demeanor make the experience even more enjoyable. Each time Ive visited, Rickys recommendations and attentive service have significantly enhanced our dining experience.Beyond the initial dishes, everything Ive tried has been outstanding. The naan bread is always perfectly baked, and the pork spaghetti is a unique and flavorful dish that I find myself craving. And lets not forget about the desserts – each one has been a delightful end to the meal.The ambiance at Manhattan Beach Post complements the high-quality food and drinks. I love coming here.The ambiance is lovely, the staff are as well, and the food is top notch.I love some dishes more than others (to be expected anywhere), but my favs to date are the chimichanga, eggs Benedict, and the lobster avocado toast.I used to love a steak dish, but I can’t recall the name.Come here if you haven’t been before- you won’t be disappointed.Most recent visit 5/6/2023:*** Cinnamon roll (my friends order) 3.5-5 /5Warm spiced brioche smothered in citrus marscapone icing~The roll was huge! It was a glaze with citrus rind sprinkled on top. I thought the citrus was a nice touch, but that’s because I don’t love cinnamon rolls because I find them too sweet, so the citrus does a nice job breaking up the sweetness.- One of my friends loved this. She said the roll was delicious.- My other friend said this was meh. He said the roll wasn’t hot enough and that the citrus took away from the usual cinnamon flavor. Then again, his caveat is that he isn’t a huge sweet person, although he does like cinnamon rolls.*** Bay scallop ceviche 3/5Aji Amarillo leche de Tigre, cucumbers, shaved radish,purple sweet potato chips~I’ve had this before here and I thought it was great. This time, the bay scallops were a little strong flavored (if you get what I mean when I say fishy). It made me question whether I really liked it in the past or whether I was misremembering and then I realized, the last time I had it, they used large scallops. In general, the larger scallops have less of that strong flavor. None the less, if that flavor doesn’t bother you, then you might enjoy this dish more than I did.***** Carnitas Breakfast Chimichanga 5+/5all natural beeler’s pork shoulder, Oaxacan string cheese and scrambled eggs wrapped in flour tortilla and fried crispy, served with salsa roja, charro beans, house made escabeche~Wow! Get this! I’ve never had a breakfast version of a chimichanga. This has scrambled eggs in it as well as carnitas and cheese etc. It has a ton of flavors and the microgreens add a touch of freshness to it. This is fantastic***** Lobster avocado toast 5/5Poached eggs, fried garbanzos, sunflower sprouts, harissa vinaigrette, sunflower dukkah, sourdough~The lobster was succulent and flavorful. The bread was fantastic- it was soft, but held up well to the ingredients. I wouldn’t have guessed this was sourdough, as it was brown. I thought it was a wheat, but either way, yum. The rest of the toppings complemented the flavor of the lobster well

For a place that was listed on the 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand, I expected better.First, they were out of almost all the teas. Not that big of a deal, but as someone that doesn’t drink much coffee, I didn’t really have many beverage options.The biscuits came highly recommended. They were good, but I thought they were a bit dry and perhaps overcooked. The butter, though, was delicious. For our group of three, our server was also kind enough to not make us order two orders of biscuits and just charged us for a 1.5 portion.I had the corn beef hash and it was ok. the corn beef was very dry and half of it was just fat. The salsa macha had peanuts in it, so i opted out and felt like there should have been an alternate offering because it was a little plain.Overall, the restaurant looked nice and the staff were very friendly and mostly attentive, but I was less than impressed with the food for the cost.

This place has a cool vibe to it. The food is good but nothing too crazy but priced fairly. The way they send out food the timing is a little off I got my entree but it took 10 mins before my husband got his so waiting my food cooled down when his came out. Service is nice though.

Confused by the offerings, but primarily by the portion sizes, left there hungry. Fried chicken sandwich had way too much sauce, and I don’t understand why banana bread has to also have caramel sauce, and whip cream. Is it not already sweet enough?! Beautiful spot but food is just ok.

We had a one night layover in LA and wanted to pick the best restaurant closest to the airport so we chose the Post and we are so glad we did!! My husband said it best, when the fried chicken (which was AMAZING) is the least favorite thing you ate you know the restaurant is good. We started with the biscuits, then had the green beans, i need to stop here! GET the green beans!! The sauce is so good and the bacon 🤩. Next up we had the incredible crispy scalloped potatoes, then the fried chicken and last the spinach /pork spaghetti. The spaghetti was unlike any other. What a special restaurant this is!

Came here on a Friday night as a walk-in around 7:30pm and got seated at the bar after a 2 minute wait. They do take reservations. Street parking is available though you’ll probably have more luck parking further. Bathrooms are available by the bar. Credit cards are accepted. Indoor and outdoor dining was available.Everyone told me to get the bacon cheddar cheese biscuits, and I’d agree that they’re the standout dish of the night. They came two to an order with a sweet butter on the side. The salmon tikka masala tasted a bit licorice-y to me, so I would steer away from that dish, unless you like that flavor profile. The ricotta tortellini was plump but also had a strong ginger taste in some of them. For me personally, I’m cool with ginger but it was a bit of surprise since it wasn’t listed as an ingredient on the menu.

I had a great dinner at Manhattan Beach Post with my family when we were in LA visiting my brother. I am a big fan of small plates and sharables because I can taste a bit of everything but I did hoard (with my familys blessing) the potato gnocchi because it was so delicious and I love pasta more than I love some relatives. Other highlights included the hot fried chicken, everything spiced soft pretzel, the french fries, and pork all arrabbiata spaghetti. There was something for everyone and we all really enjoyed our meal.The servers were friendly but not very receptive to questions about the food. We had to do some figuring out of some stuff ourself which was fine. The seats are not comfortable, there is not one comfortable seat in this restaurant - just something to keep in mind if you are with older people or anyone with a bad back. It was also pretty dark inside. The design is more aesthetic than functional.Its a great spot to go with a date or your friends. My family had a great time but that depends on your family and their ages and tastes. I do recommend stopping by if youre in the area or the menu looks good to you! The food was great and I had a good night but I dont think I would go out of my way to go back.

Skirt steak main entree $ = ~30. All the food was absolutely delicious. No wonder MB Post is a recommended! The green mussels can be had as an appetizer or even entree. Drizzle the green curry mussels over the coriander seed sticky rice for an Asian cuisine delight of slight spiciness with a mix of sweet and freshness. Almost makes your breath feel like you had a Listerine strip...not really. However, the mussels need a microscope before eating. I heard the mussels screaming to let us grow!The yellow and red beets tastes like eating Earth squeezed with a citrus tangy and tartness followed by a big bang of sweetness smacked by couscous to bring you back to land (this is a good thing lol). Oh...the bacon cheddar biscuits can be world famous for a reason. It is not a soft and foamy biscuit, rather a tough on the outside soft in the inside biscuit to bite through. Then, the bacon and cheddar says HELLO! Finally, the skirt steak...the broccolini is highly needed to balance another flavors of explosion! Although the steak was too salty for my liking, the red chimichurri gives you loads of flavor profiles...cannot even explain, highly recommend to go try it instead. The tender steak reminds me of my bed mattress where it is slightly rough on the surface (natural of skirt steak) then sinks when you hit the inside. Smoky chimichurri dances around you like Latin America. When the chef recommends the temperature of the steak as medium rare, you know you can expect greatness. Bravo!

Manhattan Beach Post has been one of my favorite dining experiences of the last year. This fantastic Manhattan Beach restaurant focuses on shared plates ranging from starters including Chef David Lefevres bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits served with whipped maple butter, a recipe Im told was his moms. Let me just say, shes a genius, and LeFevre isnt to shabby either. My family enjoyed the tapas-style format and for four of us we did well with 6 plates, though one was the Jidori chicken which is a larger portion meant for two. Along with the chicken we shared the aforementioned biscuits, tamarind naan, blue crab gnocci, pork arrabiata spaghetti, and sweet thai green beans with crispy pork. For my daughters birthday our very helpful and attentive server brought us an incredibly delicious toffee infused bread pudding with bourbon vanilla ice cream with a caramel reduction. If all of that wasnt enough, we had gin martinis that rival what we lovingly make at home.If you are looking for a delicious meal with friends or family in a lively, modern, tapas-style Manhattan Beach restaurant, this is the place for you. The restaurant is really great. It’s a really nice decoy and their service staff is very friendly. It’s located down by the Manhattan Beach pier. It is a sharing style restaurant. We got the ribeye steak and the cheeseboard with salami. Also some french fries and the yellowtail appetizer. It was all really great. Let the falcon fly.

Really great experience. They have a seasonal menu with many intriguing options, and each dish we ended up getting was incredible. Keep in mind everything is family style and the portions arent enormous, so youll need to get an assortment of items. Service was great and the atmosphere is super trendy and buzzy. We went last Sunday. We were walking in Manhattan Beach thinking about grabbing a couple of tacos and eating on the pier. Taco place very busy kept walking. We went by MB Post had to figure out where the front door was. Once inside, the restaurant has been beautifully remodeled. We got a table. The communal table is gone and you do not feel crammed in. I ordered a cocktail with spicy pineapple and metzcal. The maple cheddar bacon biscuits and the sharable ribeye with potatoes and leeks ( I apologize for not making note of the names from the menu) However the menu is seasonal and changes regularly. There are some menu constants besides the biscuits. Did we enjoy our food yes, did we have leftovers that got eaten yes! Did we get biscuits and butter to go yes! The atmosphere was great, our waitperson was attentive and busy serving all her tables. The hosts and other staff were helpful . Overall a great experience and we will come back.

This is a very nice, fun and upscale dining experience. The vibe is all about “shareables”, meat/cheese boards, and breads/small plates. Come with friends you want to “share” dinner with as this is meant for plate sharing. Ok, that is 1/2 the menu. The other 1/2 is a pull page of beer, wine, cocktails, and Coffee/tea/soda. Service is great. Prices are pretty high, but it’s LA, and you are in Manhattan Beach, so what else would you expect!Start with the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits because they are great and fill you up a bit, then try the amazing blistering blue lake green beans that are sweet and spicy with some pork (trust me, you will like them). First of all, we had an awesome server, Ashley, who made my last dinner during this LA getaway trip wonderful! I would give her 5-stars if this review is mainly for her.This is our first time visiting MBP and we had very high expectations because of the ratings on yelp. We had 5 girls and we ordered 6 dishes total: broccoflower, brussel sprouts, braised lamb, homemade spaghetti, green curry mussels and bacon buttermilk biscuits. We also ordered cocktails for ourselves. The portions for each dishes are small, basically it was done after all of us had 1 to 2 bites. 2 of the 6 dishes were way too salty (pasta and lamb) but our server was super nice and took out the pasta from our check because someone else also complained about the pasta.The main reason why I have it 4 stars was because of the delicious cocktail and the awesome waitress we had. Personally I would not go back for their meal but I would go and enjoy their cocktails for a girls night out.

The short review: good food, bad service. Nicely done steak and eggs. Tried to order a beer. Took a few minutes for the waiter to come back to tell me it wasn’t available. Picked another. The process repeated. Then I asked what beers they do have. He disappeared again. I ordered a wine but it never arrived. Maybe it’s just our server that wasn’t very good. Overall a good brunch/lunch spot but hard to find parking. Recommend getting a reservation since all seats were full.

We went for the first time yesterday to celebrate the Holidays with my long time girlfriends and enjoyed it immensely! Rachel took amazing care of us from start to finish!She was very knowledgeable about the menu and directed us to all the best dishes! She told us a little bit about the history of the restaurant, telling us it used to be the local Post Office and that the Chef was the top of his piers winning the elite Michelen award in a previous restaurant! That was when we knew we were in for a treat! We started off with Pinto Gris wine from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, known for this varietal. Our first appetizers were the cheese and meat plate and the cheddar bacon biscuits based on Rachels recommendations. They were both fabulous! We had our cheese with the the local honey variety, served with warm artisan nut and raisin bread. Then we ordered a bunch of dishes to share so we could try as many of the delicious dishes as possible! The bacon Mac and cheese was to die for! I also loved the Butternut squash sausage gnocchi and the seared scallops and roasted Brussel sprouts and Thai green beans were a pleasant addition to the meal. Their skirt steak was lean and yummy! The only thing we missed out on was the Ricotta meatballs..... They ran out. But I guess that means we just have to go back soon to try that as well as repeat some of our favorites! Thank you for a very delightful culinary experience! I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family! V sorry to rate this restaurant so low as have eaten here many times and both service / food usually excellent. That said, starting with the cup of tepid coffee served to my husband, moving to bringing the entrees before we had finished our “starter” (indeed even before they had fixed the coffee issue), on to disregarding my request to order wine and bring it before the entrees arrival, and culminating with eggs Benedict gone bad (yolks completely cooked). Overall a huge let-down. They comped the cup of tea they provided my husband in lieu of the hot coffee, and didn’t charge for the overcooked Benedict. That is the absolute minimum I would have expected - no comp for completely ignoring our instructions, no apology from the manager. I really hope they can get their act together as we’ve been coming here since it opened and I’d hate to cross them off my list. We shall see.

It was very busy on a Saturday night and I would definitely recommend a reservation. The food is served kind of like tapas and it comes out when it is ready. The cheddar biscuits are great and we also had some vegetables (green beans and carrots) and split a steak entree. Good atmosphere and great food.

I’ve been going to Manhattan Beach Post once a year for the past five years when I visit my sister. It had been one of my must dos when visiting and I even received a gift card recently because a friend knew how much I loved it. For the first three times, this place always knew how to hit the spot. Everything was perfectly savory or sweet. I always went for a short rib hash, strawberry cream puffs, and of course their cheddar chive bacon biscuits. The service was always attentive and very welcoming. For the past two times, especially most recently, it was disappointing. It’s clear that they are cutting back and corners. The hash no longer has short rib but has a thin bits of a deli style beef. The strawberry cream puffs no longer have the thick whipped and fluffy cream, but yogurt like filling that puddles out and is sour. The puff biscuit tasted stale as well. My favorite cheddar biscuits were over baked and flatter than usual. So the overly crisp outside dominated any soft inside and the cheese strangely wasn’t melting. Maybe it was flash re-baked? Lastly, maybe it was the area we were in, but my coffee was not topped during the brunch until the very end when I asked for it. All to say is that it was disappointing and I worry about the trajectory. I remain hopeful that Manhattan Beach Post moves back to the quality they had before.

How is it possible to be the 3rd customer in the door and not get service. There were 2 couples and myself. We all entered the dining area at the same time. The table they sat me at was right by the kitchen, right next to the computer where staff put in the orders. Then the 1st two couples drinks started to come out. The drinks for the other groups started coming out and then food for the first two couples came out. And here I am still sitting here almost 30 min later and not even being greeted. The number of staff that walked by me was staggering. There had to be at least 4 waiters/waitresses there. So I politely got up and asked to speak to the manager. She came over and was very sweet and kind, I told her what happened but told her that I would be leaving. She was very apologetic, and offered to make it up to me. but I have a firm belief that I will not give people my money that do not want it. I was really looking forward to eating here, it had been on my bucket list of restaurants to try, but after this I wouldnt even give it a second try. I walked out of there asking myself what did i do to deserve that treatment. I got up early, having a bad morning and decided to treat myself to cheer myself up. I left there feeling worse than when I walked in.

The flavors were enticing and pleasing to our taste buds. I particularly liked the main course of the tiger prawns with Thai spices. By fusing Asian flavors and western cooking technique, the resulting dish was a gourmet main course meal that’s fit for a most discerned food connoisseur.Another great food to try is the cheddar cheese bacon biscuit. Even though it was not on the Valentine’s Day dinner menu, we ordered it and it was so good. We made a reservation for 3 on a Friday. Myself and my colleagues are all out of town visitors from the East coast. We were seated without incident. The server explained the menu, which is family style. She also explained it is best to order all our food at once if we know what we want. I think the only critique we had was that almost every dish was not what we were expecting. The flavor of the dishes are very distinct and I did not think they blended well together. I thought the hangar steak was the best. The ceviche is not anything like what we would get on the east coast. It was not bad, just not in the style we were expecting.I ordered two glasses of Sauvignon blanc that night and there was a mixup when the bill arrived. The server had been charging me for the Sancerre by the glass. There is a huge difference in price with the Sancerre being $25 a glass and the SB being about half that. I asked her about it and she said it was a mistake and she was not trying to up charge me. I had never accused her that so I don’t know if it was true or not. She changed the bill to reflect two glasses of Sauvignon blanc. She was also clearly annoyed after I brought it to het attention. I also want to add that the girl (not a server) who came over with the wine initially actually spilled a good bit of mine on the table when she poured it. No apology or anything and that was the $25 glass.Personally I would not go back here, but the restaurant seems to be very busy and popular. Hopefully the experience is better for others.

This has always been a special occasion place for us - anniversaries, birthdays and sometimes just because. We hadnt been since before the world was locked down. We almost walked past the now moved front door. Unbeknownst to us they had expanded, remodelled and moved the front door nack in 2020. It also looked like they enclosed the front although maybe as the weather gets warmer they can open that area. The greeting and service was top knotch as usual. We ordered, the food came out quickly and was delicious. They did their usual magic with the hanger steak, blistered green beans (flavor explosion with pork, peanuts and chilies) and shishito peppers. However since they expanded and the front was closed off the noise level was on the high side for me for me as my ears have always been sensitive to noise. The bar was a popular spot as people waited for their tables. From what I remember (we dont have alcohol any more as we are eating differently) their drinks were delicious. Had a wonderful meal here. The Manhattan Avenue drink was good-not-great, the rest of the party quite enjoyed their cocktails. The wine list is high quality and has good variety. The biscuits are incredible, a must-get. The feasting board was so-so. The hamachi crudo was fantastic was some nice spicy kick to it. The skirt steak was tender and flavorful. The Caledonian Blue Prawns were flavorful, as was the burrata salad. Everyone’s favorite dish of the evening was the pork al’ arrabiata spaghetti, which melts in your mouth. I will get this and the biscuits (and probably the hamachi crudo) every single time I come back!

I’m sorry I’m writing a low rating, but for the price of the food I was kind of disappointed. The customer service was fantastic. But my plate was kind of…not worth $40 in my opinion. I ordered the Nashville chicken, which was the only chicken option besides the chicken liver toast. The chicken was a bit too oily and it had no flavor 😭 I didn’t taste salt, paprika, or any spice at all. I was shocked. The mash potatoes was stellar though. Just the chicken 😭 I’m sorry guys. First visit since Covid. Was so excited to get back. It was one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.Walking in, I felt a little out of place. I didnt even eat here, that’s how terrible the customer service is.We had asked for a table of 3, 1 being a child. The host (didn’t get her name but wearing jeans and a black top) sat us outside on a table for 2 and said ‘can I just add a chair’ and I said ‘no’. So stormed off and got another table. I asked her for a kids menu or what is available for kids to eat, like butter pasta or something. She said the waiter will bring over the kids menu, and help us. Waiter comes over, says there’s nothing to eat on the menu for kids. So we get up and leave, as i walk from the outside seating, the host that I have previously mentioned loudly said ‘thank god their going, they were so weird’. Of course I confronted her. Having someone like that the front of house is damaging to the business. In the end I went to the Strand House, and spent over $450. $450 dollars I’m glad I never spent with Manhattan beach post.

My overall experience was okay. It was Sunday evening my hubby and I did not make reservations and were happy we were seated upon arrival. I loved the fried chicken it was well seasoned. The potato salad was interesting, you can really taste the dijon in it. Not bad just okay. The steak skirt and sauce on top was also just okay. The chimichuri was red instead of the normal green look. Not sure why but I was adventurous and tried it. The food is very well prepared and the atmosphere is nice. However the building and seating is really crowded, employees and customers keep bumping into eachother and cant walk. The prices are a bit high and I can understand for the quality of the food, but I was a bit disappointed when I paid 14 dollars for only 6 dumplings on a plate with garnishes. Their presentation is great, but I was hoping for more food. Overall the employees are kind and happy to be here, and its a good restaurant. But its not for those with big appetites or for those on a budget.

The atmosphere is pretty awesome. We (a family of six) walked right in to a table. I think the hostess may have forgotten to tell the server we were there. We waited about 10 minutes until they figured it out. The server brought us complimentary bacon cheddar biscuits for the wait and I immediately forgot about it. Those biscuits are well worth driving out of your way to eat! The maple butter that comes with it is unbelievable. The meals are intended to be shared, we had Benedict eggs, corned beef hash, ricotta stuffed waffles, blueberry pancakes, bacon, and dumplings. Each dish was served hot and cooked to perfection. This is my second visit at this restaurant, and the service is always phenomenal from the host to the bussers. Tonight our server, Ashley, was extremely attentive and accommodating. I went here for a business lunch and we were very happy with what we ordered. Dishes are mid-to-high priced, reflecting the neighborhood and ambiance. Some dishes are moderately spicy, and every dish we had was delicious. I recommend the pork and shrimp dumplings, the carnitas tacos were also great. There are also many appetizers here that are somewhat unique and worth trying, including the biscuits and the fried broccoli-cauliflower hybrid. It is slightly noisy in there, but that reflects how popular the place is. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive.

The menu changes depending on the chefs preferences, so you can expect a very high end culinary experience without all the pomp and circumstance of a fancy pants restaurant. The food is fantastic, but on the pricey side. Portions are medium sized. But you definitely get your moneys worth at this restaurant.However the drinks are very expensive. Most beers are $9 to $10 and mixed drinks are $12. That said, they do leave water bottles at the table (including soda water). I love that. Service is excellent and our server, Amanda, was a joy.

The customer service changed this from a 1 star to 4. We were the first seated upon opening for brunch. Waitress started out grumpy (I remarked to my wife that she needed coffee), but was quite pleasant later. Entrees took forever. Without prompting, both manager and waitress came over to explain that our dish fell on the floor at the pass line. They gave us another entree gratis until our desired dish came, and compd that too. Great dinner spot by the beach. I loved the different honey that we got to try on our cheese board just amazing truffle honey, we pretty much licked the dish. Whats cool about this place is that it used to be Manhattan Beachs Post Office, hence the name!Everything here is tapas style, which means you get to share with your table. We made reservations for 6:15 on a Sunday evening.Sitting down, I thought the music was too loud and unfocused. We went from Come On Eileen to The Beatles to Notorious B.I.G. What? Already I have the feeling that Im in a place that lacks a sense of attention and intention. When we asked for 3 glasses of wine, there was an attempt at upselling to a bottle which felt procedural. The food came out promptly, but:The fries were oversalted to the point of making me immediately think that this restaurant is really a front for an alcohol distributor. That first bite was a prelude to everything that followed.Everything felt oversalted to the point of causing more thirst to sell more liquor.The chickpea fritters were fine but their shape and color reminded me of the Japanese convenience store snack CalorieMate. Its pomegranate glaze was indistinguishable from store bought cranberry sauce. The waitress came out with complementary bacon cheddar biscuits, which were fine, I guess, but not fantastic. They crumbled well, but again, salt salt salt. We go further downhill from there. The gnocchi was inedible. A texture like clotted cream and tasted overwhelmingly of the unnecessary ham lardons. The wild mushrooms were completely lost in a gray paste.The hanger steak medium rare was too chewy and over-seasoned, and reeked of its white cedar smoke as if the smell of steak with a good Maillard caramelization was somehow insufficient.The fried chicken didnt have the batter applied correctly and did not seem freshly made. It was too greasy as if old oil was used. The crust was unpleasantly stiff and came off the meat. My aunt, who had the thigh piece, suspected it was undercooked. My girlfriend texted me discreetly I might need a milkshake after this.
