I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of titles that are available in this shop. I expected it to be limited to Black authors, but it is a go to for anyone interested in topics from writing a book to starting a business. Even though the focus is Black culture, there is so much more to purchase, including journals, agendas, and water bottles. This is a wonderful shop. I look forward to many more visits.

Love this store. Keep in mind that they have two of them: one in Baldwin Hills and the other by the Fox Hills Mall. Ive been a customer here for quite some time now and theyre nice people. I love the fact that they sell culturally-diverse books from all genres (music, bio, cuisine, history, business, kids books,etc). I love to read books regardless of who it is, but Malik Books gives me something to identify with and that is being able to see more support of books from people that looks like me. Also, they have some festivities going on this month so I suggest checking it out. Always a treat buying from them ✊🏿

Absolutely beautiful book store out here in Culver City! Went on a Thursday at 7:30 P.M. and was greeted with live music from a saxophone artist! This place specializes in African American stories and experiences and is a great addition to the mall.

Fascinating African American bookstore, I got some shea butter for my girlfriend and her daughter since they have this kind of skin that needs it, which is human skin.Excellent selection of African books with a few non-african books scattered about.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff

I come here with my friends whenever were at culver city mall sometimes, not only do I really like this place and all the books and calendars that they have, but I like the fact that this place a black owned business

A superb bookstore for people interested in African Americans and African American history. Its filled with biographies, personal history, and the history of the New World from an African American perspective. The childrens book selection looks amazing. The bookseller told me that he had been a history major in college; he brought that knowledge to build a well-stocked bookstore. Highly recommended!

Delighted to have walked into a black owned bookstore this afafternoon Had no idea it was there!A wide range to subjects, black authors, for different age ranges.Purchased books as gifts, for myself and my grandbaby and niece, both under 5-years old.I will Definitely be back!!Beautiful displays. Beautiful store! I went into the Fox Hills Mall location on a Saturday and got to speak to the owner. He was so very nice and kind. I mentioned my book to him, he looked it up via ISBN and agreed to a copy in store. I walked in a few days later and there it was! I ended up buying 3 books over the two times I stopped in there. Great selection of books and other merchandise.

Being the fact that this is a black owned business, I expected to be treated a little better than I would when I go to other non black owned stores. I did not. The clerk followed me around the store. She got frustrated with me because I was talking too long. I thought that would be understandable being the fact its a book store its going to take a while for me to make a purchase. I didnt have a particular book in mind so I had to shop around. I decided to go to this book store on my birthday and it was a half hearted experience. I bought 4 books. Spent 80$. But I didnt like the experience. I didnt enjoy it as much as I wanted to so next time Ill just order book off Amazon.

I happened upon this bookstore when we were going to Starbucks. Ive ordered from them online but was excited to walk inside and meet them. The store is so welcoming and they offer more than books. Had to talk my sister off the mug buying ledge (she has too many). Ill definitely make a point to visit when Im in LA again!

I wish I could give it 10 stars! My family absolutely loved browsing the selection of books. They even had some old ones that have escaped my collection 30 years ago. I had to buy them again.We will be purchasing online.The owner and his son were excellent hosts.

I used to go to the one in the Crenshaw mall. This one is much bigger. It still has a plentiful selection of books and items designed for African Americans. I love this place. Please patronage Malik. He has some great things in his store.

Great bookstore found in the Westfield Culver City mall. It is a small business and the owner welcomes you with a smile. They have a wide range of books by and for African Americans, along with numerous other authors. They also have a large childrens book section along with other items such as calendars, bags, greeting cards, etc.

Id love to give this book store a higher rating but I was sooo disappointed with my perusal that three stars is the highest I can give. Why? The selection of Black fiction is abysmal!I went in just knowing that I would find NOOR by Nnedi Okorafor only to find nada by her!Blacks like sci-fi, fantasy and horror too.

So delighted to find this gem at the Westfield Mall. Independent bookstores are so rare in the brick and mortar world anymore so I was ecstatic to discover this storefront. The staff were so kind and helpful, too. A must visit when in L.A.

The selection of books is excellent. I was disappointed with the customer service. There was a young man at the desk, but he did not offer any assistance,ask if you had any questions. In fact, the whole time I was in the store he was either on his phone or tablet.
