I recently visited the temple in Malibu and was thoroughly impressed by the beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere. It took me about 45min drive from LA.The option for Archanai ranging from $5 to $35 allowed for a personalized experience.However, the additional cost for food at the food corner was a bit unexpected, similar to a restaurant setup, but it didnt detract from the overall experience.I look forward to returning for prayers and further exploring this beautiful temple. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful and spiritual retreat. 🛕🙏🏽

Loved this south Indian style Hindu temple near LA. There were multiple shrines for different gods and goddess in Hindu culture. The canteen needs a major upgrade for infrastructure and food taste. What I found a bit odf is that the Vaishnav shrines and Shaiva shrines are built sepatarely with saparate entrances and exit.

We visited the temple on Jan 1. Though it was crowded but it was well managed by the volunteers. There is no ticket to visit the temple. Infact by the time (around 1230 pm) we reached the temple on Jan 1, it was supposed to be closed (during regular days) but we were lucky and the temple was open to general public. The road to temple is a single lane road and it was crowded due to Jan 1 visitors and we had to face almost 30 min wait on the road and then before the main sanctum we also had to wait but it was worth the wait. Volunteers managed the crowd and made sure main sanctum is not crowded.

Beautiful and amazingly serene locale apt for an amazingly peaceful and gorgeous temple. We visited over a weekday and the darshan were so peaceful. Love the architecture and cleanliness. They also have a cafe with wholesome food/prasad over the weekends only though. Very simple and smooth process for offering prasadam and archana right at the footsteps of the temple. A must-do if you happen to be near Malibu, Calabasas or near the coast.

Beautifully sculptured Hindu temple with Venkatesh Balaji at garbhagruha with Rada Krishna, Ram Lakshman Sita and Maruti Shri Lakshmi and Budevi temple in four corners. Another temple in complex with Shiva, Shri Ganesh, Karthikeya and Navagraha. Very peaceful and spiritual place. Must visit if you are in Los Angeles.

Surprised to find such a beautiful Hindu temple in the Malibu mountains. Was driving up to LA and decided to make a detour and stop by to pay respect. Not Hindu myself but very a tuned of its traditions and beliefs. Reminds me of the temples I visited in South Asia a few decades ago. Worth the stop for sure. Seem the Hindu community im the area is quite engaged as they have published lots of events, etc.

My visit to the Malibu Hindu Temple was truly memorable. The scenic drive to get there was a treat, and the staff and fellow visitors were friendly and helpful. This place is amazing. It is a hindu temple that is open to the public but people do come and actively worship at this temple. Before entering you must take your shoes off. It is free to come in and look around. I posted some photos below. If youre on the way to the beach its a nice little stop to make to an interesting and beautiful temple.

Very interesting architecture and atmosphere. I’m not a religious person but I love to be in that places. Be prepared to take off the shoes. The entrance is free but you have to dress up properly. The naked shoulders, tank tops, and shorts are prohibited.

Malibu Temple is a pleasant place and well built and maintained. Lord Venkateshwara is well presented and the front arch architecture is well done. There many other god idols located in the lower level of the temple complex. They have a good cafeteria as well.

It is beautiful Lord Venkateshwara temple located at Malibu. We went on one of the Saturday and experienced great Darshanam. It was blissful, divine and heavenly to listen to those songs. The idol of Balaji and the other idols are amazing. They still opening more goodness idol’s. They also have a canteen where you can buy Ladoo prasad, dosas, coffee, tea. I loved their Dosa.The restrooms needs to be maintained.

Beautiful Hindu Temple 🛕 in Malibu area and one of the biggest in Southern California region. Located in the foothills of Santa Monica mountains ⛰️ and by the highway 🛣️, it has lot to offer. The main temple is of Lord Venkateswara which is accompanied by four smaller temples at the four corners within the compound. You can buy offerings (Prasad) at the entrance for $25.00. I was able to spent time within the main temple and the priest offered my prasad to the lord Venkateswara. It also has a lord Shiva Temple next to the main temple which has facility for Yagya (यज्ञ) and group Pooja. Within the premise there is a canteen which offers some south indian delicacies for minimal charge. I enjoyed every moment of my stay at the temple and felt blessed. I highly recommend this temple if you are in the area. Also, it has got decent free parking space within the premise.

It’s somewhat a religious temple and not really a tourist attraction. We didn’t see all of the temple but we saw was very beautiful. No shoes are allowed in the temple so make sure to bring socks. Overall a beautiful place and astonishing architecture.

We came view this temple a short distance from our campsite at Malibu creek.The people were very friendly and the temple was unlike any other I have seen.If you go, no meat is allowed there. And no shoes are to be worn inside the temple.They have food for sale in the kitchen.

A quiet place in the mountains.Open on weekend only. They have volunteers to help/guide you, if needed.Archana service was good. Outdoor tiles were surprisingly cool even with a high noon Sun on a hot day.Need a place to sit for a moment inside temple premises, which has been an Indian custom.Also check out the Shiva temple on right hand side down the slope. It is still not fully opened, but worth a visit.

We were so happy to see the temple on our way to Pepperdine University at Malibu. The temple is beautiful and has carvings . I loved the golden detailed carvings a lot. We went late evening so it was a beautiful atmosphere at the temple. As soon as we entered there was a nice breeze that made the bells ring on the long stambh outside. It was so peaceful and heavenly to hear the bells. The idol of Balaji and the other idols are very mesmerizing.The temple has shrines at 2 level. There are steps going down from the back to the bottom level. They have 1 small mandir at this level . They also have a canteen where you can buy Ladoo prasad, dosas, coffee, tea,bissibeli bhat and a lot of other foods. The restrooms are behind the canteen and were pretty clean.The top level mandir and bottom level mandir entrance has someone from whom you can buy Archana tickets, basket of fruits and other pooja offerings. If you are in this area you should visit the mandir.

Great place to pray. Guests can sit a meditate, give offerings to gods, or enjoy a live performance. We went on a Saturday and watched a traditional dance. As a non Hindu, I definitely felt the spiritual vibe of this place. Not really a place to go ham on Instagram. Its a place to be felt.

Hidden gem 💎 in Malibu. Small temple 🛕 but it feels so relaxing to be there 😌 . Free entrance but you can leave a donation to support the maintenance of the temple 🛕. Leave your shoes 👞 👟 outside the entrance and be respectful 🙏 when walking around the temple 🛕.

The temple is huge and very well kept. There is a cafe where you can purchase meals and prasad at very reasonable prices, I think it was $3 for a plate of amazing tamarind rice.

Beautiful Temple in Santa Monica mountains. Main deities here are Shiva and Venkateswara Swamy. Well maintained and peaceful atmosphere atop.However, we were deeply disappointed by the food that was available there at cost of $5. Heard a lot about the food, turned out to be very bad, even the laddoo didn’t taste good, as it was at temple we finished it. Just try it out with one and then take multiple. We didn’t expect and have taken multiple to take home. Seems something’s wrong or there is change in chef who barely knows how to cook.

Visited for my new car’s pooja. It’s great temple with plenty of parking. The cellular network there is not as strong. Shiva temple is very calm and peaceful.They charged me $116 for car pooja, which is slightly expensive but I had a good experience so no complaints.Food was good too!

It was an incredible experience to drive out here and visit this temple to see it in person. its not the biggest by size but its definitely worth the trip. i was lucky enough to show up right before a prayer ceremony took place. i stood in the back while the actual followers of the religion followed along in their own language with the prayers. its a great place to visit even through this whole CoViD lock down.

This temple is traditionally styled and we enjoy the architecture and the location.It is also great that we can get something to eat right on the temple campus.We do not live close by, but we try to visit every few months. Its a nice temple in the middle of Malibu by land donated by very generous people. The deities are so well adorned and theres is love, connection, and inspiration in every inch of the place. Large areas of the temple remain closed however due to low number of visitors and volunteers. If you have the time, the temple could really use your help.

We got married at the Malibu Hindu Temple!! It’s an absolutely beautiful temple, reminded me of the temples I visited in Chennai, India. The management was very helpful and our priest, Mr. Prasanna was so kind and always was with us every step of the way! Our marriage was during COVID in the month of Nov 2020 and we had to wear masks and socially distance ourselves while on the premises during the ceremony. But definitely always gives us a serene atmosphere and feeling just visiting this temple. It’s a must visit!

We stumbled upon a beautiful Hindu temple on our drive to Malibu, which we ended up circling back to walk through and view later on. Make sure to check hours before you go, they are only open certain hours during the day. Looks big passing by but it is a very small temple hidden in the Malibu mountains. Its beautiful and free to visit. You just have to be mindful and respectful and take off your shoes.

The only temple in So-Cal to have the same vibes as a real Indian temple. We have been there more than once and the visit is really enjoyable. I’ve been visiting this temple for over 2 decades and I absolutely love the place. It’s located in the beautiful hills of Malibu and you can feel the divine aura of the place the moment you step inside the premises. Poojari Swamis are professional and I love the fact they try to establish connection by learning more about you.My review is for the canteen Only.I was excited they added a canteen that serves hot food and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Went there this past Sunday to celebrate a special occasion.We ordered masala dosas and puris as they were out of Idli, Vada. I didn’t mind the wait but serving stale food while charging exuberant prices on par with restaurants isAn unconscionable thing.Potato curry in the poori and the potato in the masala dosa both were stale and made it impossible to enjoy the special occasion and we threw the food in trash before exiting.I wish the temple makes note of these issues and brings in some reforms so it doesn’t occur in the future.

Call it temple Business🤑 car pooja $101 + forced tip starts at $30, $50 or more BEWARE!!Can’t believe what just happened to us, we went to get car pooja done & we were charged $101 plus pooja stuff $16 dollars for 3 banana 1 coconut and 5 lemons.When I heard the price I wanted to run but my spouse is very gullible and didn’t want to be counting money to do new car pooja so we paid got the priest to do the pooja.But what made me angry & wanted to write here is this priest really had to be the worst I met in my entire life, after pooja he says give dakshina to bless you. We genuinely didn’t carry a lot of cash and had about 5 or 10 dollars which we offered all of it & he refused to take & asked us to Zelle at least close to $30 or $50 or more.My goodness, he insisted we pay him thru Zelle for which my gullible spouse gave in again 😖I am angry & disgusted to say the least. And they want us to come again.Lord Venkateshwara lives in our hearts I don’t have to go to this temple and get fooled by these money hunger people.Beware if you are ever going for car pooja!

Malibu hindu temple is Balaji and shiv temple located between a beautiful surroundings of nature. Temple is big and its architecture and work on marble is awesome. Between hills and farmhouses a lot of empty surrounds and a marble temple which maintain sacred and holy environment. Along with Shiv and Balaji some mall temples of Ganesh, Ram laxman sita, parvati, karthick, nav grah, hanuman temples also there. Have enough space for parking and good hall for indian cultural or holly functions. Temple has its office and kitchen where u buy prasadam in minimal charges.

No comments on temple, as we go there regularly. We used to like the food supplied by the prior supplier, and ate there after a few years when we visited temple today. It seems canteen is taken over by a new team. We ate masala dosa, which was OK, but curd rice (To Go) was not at all good. It had a distinct flavor (smell of oil that is typically used in temple diyas/deepam).

Beautiful, peaceful place. It’s a Hindu temple, but they welcome anyone who wants to visit and wander around the grounds.There is great Indian lunch served in the cafeteria on the bottom level (kind of a maze to find it). Very inexpensive, but pretty authentic.You have to go in barefoot or in socks, no shoes allowed.My in-laws visited from India and this was their favorite place in Los Angeles!

First thing, there is $10 Parking fee which fine. but the thing which ticked me off was that inside the temple there was 2 tier system to pray. If you pay you get to pray near the deity otherwise you are escorted off to a away location to pray. This is pathetic. This is an absolutely beautiful Temple located in the middle of Malibu. It has been open during the COVID-19 lockdown for socially distanced darshan, as the deities are kept outside. I was charged 20 dollars for parking because it was a new year . They are charging 10 dollars parking on weekends . I haven’t seen any temple in USA till now which charges for parking . Jai Govind Ji. We went there after a long time. There are parking fees of $20 per vehicle. It sounds too much but the temple needs renovations and one must donate whatever one can wish. Inside as well, it has been commercialized, one needs to pay $30/family for special puja... Per Lordships (Lord Govind Ji and Lord Shiv). I have been going to this temple for almost 8+ years now. They have started to charge parking fees ranging from $10 to $20. This is not an optional one, since there is no public parking near by, you have to pay for it.Once you get inside the temple, you cannot stand and pray in the area where everyone used to do. We love everything about the Malibu Hindu temple including the beautiful Lord Venkateswara shrine, the thoughtful, devoted priests, and the scenic surroundings. Our favorite is Mrs. Devi who has been helping us with the planning for our Telugu wedding at the temple and this review is especially for her. Her warm and helpful nature and the delicious food she prepares (curd rice, tamarind rice, puri dal, etc.) has thoroughly impressed us. She has given us a lot of information on wedding vendors and assisted us a great deal in putting together our wedding ceremony. She also does a great job managing the canteen downstairs and its a pleasure meeting her when we are there.We love visiting this wonderful temple.
