I have 5 LG AC units in my house and none of them were producing cold air anymore. Maki came out and fixed my main unit and a few leaks he found and got everything up and running again. We have called Maki three times for service in the past few years and every time they respond quickly and do excellent work! Just yesterday, Thomas came out to do a furnace check up. Maki Heating & Air really came through for us during this incredibly hot summer! Our unit went out late day Monday and Brent from Maki was there the very next morning. He diagnosed the problem quickly, cleaned our unit and had cold air pumping back in our home. Our unit is working so efficiently now, the air is the coolest it’s ever been. Our technician Brent was so kind and personable, he explained everything and we signed up for regular maintenance (which actually saved us money!) so we will be aware of any issues in the future and catch them beforehand. We appreciate Maki’s fast response time, Brent’s knowledge and many years of experience and the super sweet gals in the office.We are very grateful, thank you!

I would give negative stars and shut this place down if I could.They sold us a unit we did not need for a leak in our ceiling. Almost $20,000 later and our ceiling still leaks and this company blew us off. This place will rob you blind if given the chance. DO NOT TRUST THE OWNERS. They are slimy as hell. Now my ceiling and roof are leaking and we have to fix the unit at least once a year. Run. Dont walk from this place. There are plenty of reputable companies out there.

Technician Jon W was professional, courteous, and friendly when he came in to do our biannual furnace/AC check. He thoroughly checked out our heating system, made copious notes on the condition of our 22-yr-old furnace, and gave us the straight talk on the future for our heater. I appreciate all that, and his going the extra mile in connecting a missing wire so I can hook up our Nest thermostat. Given the current situation, which we have known for some time now, we are looking into having Maki Heating and AC replace our furnace. I hope I get Jon W in the spring when Maki checks out our AC for us!

I have to admit I am too involved/picky in the process of repairs being made to my home and these guys were wonderful the whole way. We just had our entire 30+ year old ducting redone by Maki. I got many quotes, theirs was about the same as all the rest. Their transparency in pricing was amazing. Chris, the rep, was so easy to work with, walked me through everything and answered all of my questions. The team was in and out of my 3800 Sr ft home in three days, in a small crawl space. They worked so hard every day and even did some small asks I had. Polite, tidy and pleasant people.

It all starts with their courteous and upbeat telephone service from the office staff. I just had my summer maintenance completed by Maki employee Thomas. He also performed our winter inspection in December. What a hard worker and he kept us informed about our HAVAC system. It has been a pleasure having him in our home. He was early, wore booties inside the house, cleaned everything up when finished and gave a detailed verbal & written report (with photos) on our system. I called MAKI at 6:15 am on a hot Monday morning expecting voicemail, but a real nice person answered my call, listened to my needs, and said that a person would be at my house between 11am - 1pm. Brent arrived at 10:45 am. Tara let me know when he’d be at my house. Brent assessed my issues, on a 19 year old system, gave me my options, and ordered the parts. He was honest with me that the parts may take a week to come from Texas.It’s now Wednesday of the same hot week, and the parts are not only here, but are installed by Jon late in the hot afternoon. Here’s the thing that’s cool about Jon, who has an app that assesses the efficiency of your system after the repair. He not only told me that my AC was fixed, he showed me. Brent, with Maki, came out when I called about a burning off smell in my heating unit that wasn’t going away after general service by my now previous service company just 5 weeks earlier. Our AC died right as a heat wave started. I called Maki late Friday afternoon and they had our system back up and running by noon the next day. Their technician was great. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, and had the right part on his truck to complete the repair immediately. Meltdown avoided! Recently purchased a new (old house) and had furnace give up on us. I knew I wanted a ductless mini split system and Maki was one of the few around the area who had a fair amount of experience with them. I did my due diligence by reaching out to several contractors for quotes, researched posted install costs, and even thought about doing the install myself. Ultimately Maki came through with the best lead time and fair pricing. 10 out of 10 I would choose Maki again. They were prompt, informative, professional, friendly, and did an outstanding job. The lead tech even pointed out a bad flue design on my gas water heater and corrected it just as a safety measure. We love our new system. Thank you all!

As always Maki didnt disappoint. John was at my home first thing this morning with a very happy upbeat I can attitude. He was friendly, easy to talk to and understand. After having a company come out on Monday that told me I needed to replace my entire AC with a sticker price of $5,500.00 I knew that I had to have Maki come take a look. Much to my surprise John was able to find the issue and have my air up and running strong for less then 300 dollars versus the other company that said I needed to spend $5500.00 on a new unit. I dont like to have anyone else come service my Ac and this is just another testament as to why I will continue to use them exclusively. Thank you so much John and Maki heating and air. Everything up to the point of delivering the price to fix our heat pump was good. They gave us a price that was really crazy high. When i asked for a breakdown on parts and labor they told me that they dont do that. (That seems dishonest)Got a second opion a from another local provider even though i had to pay another diagnostic fee. Found out from that tech the actual cost of the broken part right from the supplier. It was 4k. At this point i figured out that maki had put a $2,450 mark up on the price they gave me. In the end the competitor fixed it in 5 minutes once the parts were in hand for for 4,500.If you want to pay more for no reason go with maki they will gladly take your money with no explanation of what it went towards.

Maki has recently changed ownership, so it was time to see how the new owners would do. All the office staff were very friendly and efficient. Appointments are confirmed. I asked for the best tech and Brent came out to see us. He is extremely knowledgeable and more importantly honest. First of all, when we called Maki, they were so kind as to schedule a service person to come out to our home the very next day. Nathan came out to repair our AC unit. It was a simple fix; and because of him asking specific questions before he looked at our unit, he was able to immediately discover the issue and resolve it in a very timely manner Nathan put on booties as to ensure no dirt get tracked into our home as well as wore a face mask for our safety. He is a very kind and thorough employee. Nathan was so thorough, that he even asked if we were veterans or in the active service as there is a discount for serving in our military. It was already a very affordable price and with the veterans discount, made it a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend Maki as well as their exceptional employee Nathan.

Some of the things that I wanted were not listened to and a few design ideas were strange.I recommend obtaining multiple bids as Maki Air was 90% higher than others received. The bid I received from Maki Air was for a five zone mini split at $30,000. Another company quoted me $16,000.

One of my neighbors recommended Maki service and I called them after the heat in my home had been off for over 24 hours. The technicians arrived in a timely manner, reviewed the problem and provided the (very expensive) part. Boom. Done in one hour. Marvelous. We had our heater, AC, and water heater replaced yesterday by Maki. We were both elated with the experience. CJ, Scott, Steve and Jeremy worked diligently all day and had everything done by the end of the day. This was wonderful since we were originally expecting it to take 2 days. These guys are amazing and some of the hardest workers we have ever met. Very respectful and when we had questions, they were more than willing to explain things to us. Pat was very knowledgeable and took all the time we needed to explain things to us when he came out on Tuesday for our estimate. We cant stress enough how happy we are with your employees and the work they do. From our initial phone call to the installation and clean-up. Our driveway was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. What a treat!!! We will definitely pass on our experience to our friends and anyone who needs a recommendation. You guys are the BEST. The system is old and will need to be replaced before too long, however, it is still cooling OK. Maki comes twice a year to my home to service the AC and heater unit. I could go through my home warranty but choose not to because of the excellent service I get from Maki. Last Spring they replaced all of my duct work, and it was well worth it. The crew was professional and quick in getting the job finished. The compressor in our air conditioning was going out, called Maki the receptionist was very accommodating and had a service technician out the next day. Brent diagnosed the problem the unit was 16 years old and couldn’t be repaired, he suggested replacing the AC, explained the cost and and what would be done.The follow day their installation team came out Jermey and his crew Tyler and Conner were on time and very efficient. My only complaint is that the tune up for winter should happen on a really cold day (although it was a perfectly lovely day). Fred came over as scheduled and determined that the wiring in the AC plug has shorted. It was not determined what could have caused this issue, but it may have been a power surge. The thermostat screen was blank, so he tried out another one to see if this was the problem. He determined that this was not the problem and then started checking all current locations until he found the shorted plug. This issue could have caused an electrical fire, which would have spread to the house in the attic. I am very happy that through his knowledge of the system, he probably saved me from a major electrical/fire issue. His work was excellent and I hope he continues to work at Maki for years to come.

The MAKI team arrived promptly in the morning to replace my very old AC unit and furnace. It was a BIG job. My old furnace was in a tight corner with limited access (inside a mobile home). Justice answered the call informed me they could not get there until tomorrow morning but would do everything they could to fit me it sooner if possible. A/C stopped working 2 nights ago. Called Maki late afternoon the next day (yesterday) and spoke to customer service rockstar Tara, who got me on the schedule for the next morning.My appointment was set for a 3 hour window between 10:00-1:00. We hired Maki to replace our old heat and air system early in Sep of last year and were Reasonably happy with the new system but we opted for the maintenance package and when the tech came out in January I reported that we didn’t seem to have a equal balance of heat in The rooms. I will never call Maki again. My sister called them out to my property in Foresthill for a simple AC diagnosis and I was told my entire HVAC unit needed to be replaced (around $5,000). When we came back from our bucket list trip to Alaska, we were greeted with a Heat Pump that needed to be replaced. We got proposals from 3 HVAC companies which started to show the difference between Maki and the others. Our Estimator, Michael Antisdel, not only gave us an estimate to replace our existing equipment, but suggested ways we could increase the efficiency of the system by making minor modifications. He was more than willing to answer all of our questions and concerns. As soon as we accepted the proposal, we were contacted by the installers to work out a date and time for the installation. In June of 2014 we purchased a new Trane Furnace and Air Conditioner through Maki. Our unit has been working great, and we are completely satisfied with Makis maintenance and service. In early 2016 we noticed a small amount of white power grains collecting around the base of our furnace we called Maki and told them about the white power. They told us that was nothing to worry about it was just calcium from condensation in the exhaust vent pipe. We cleaned it as best we could. The white power continued to build up we called again because it started to rust the base of the furnace paneling. Maki sent out a maintenance technician (Nathan, G.) to check out our system and look into the white power issue. Nathan came out and serviced out system and assured us that there was indeed a problem with the vent system and the white power (Calcium) should not be building up. He would have to repair our vent system, but could not do it at the time he was here because it was raining and he needed to get on the roof to fix the problem. We have a metal roof and when wet it is very unsafe. He scheduled a return visit to repair our vent situation. Nathan was a very courteous, professional and competent maintenance tech, unfortunately Nathan was unable to return on the scheduled return visit. Maki sent out two other maintenance Technicians to repair our vent problem. (C. J. and Antonio) . CJ and Antonio were very professional maintenance technicians their workmanship was excellent. They fixed the vent situation in our attic and on the roof. They cleaned out the Calcium deposits on and around the base of the furnace unit, and assured us that there should be no more build-up in our laundry room. We are very satisfied with their accomplishments and Makis promise to maintain our system. I would recommend Maki for any heating and Air Conditioning needs .

Last year, as fairly new home owners, we needed to have our heating/air conditioning unit serviced, so our friends referred us to Maki Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. The fellow that came out was very knowledgeable and told us the unit (which apparently had been replaced by the previous owner since it wasn’t as old as the home) was too large for the size of our home and wasn’t working efficiently (it was wasting energy). We told him the master bedroom, which was the closest room to the heating unit, was always too hot whereas the other rooms never felt warm enough. He said the system would need an additional return air duct (because the one was undersized) and more vents throughout the house (there weren’t any in the kitchen/dining area and only one in the living room), and the ducting in the crawl space would need to be redesigned (to balance the air flow and offer more comfort).We called Maki to set up an appointment for an estimate. We were delightfully surprised with how reasonable the estimate was (thank you, Randy!), especially considering the complexity of the job. The only “problem” was that the only place that was feasible to put this additional large duct was in our daughter’s already small closet. Not thinking there was any other solution, we accepted the proposal and set a date for the work to be done. In the meantime, we were sort of agonizing over the idea of putting the duct in her closet and started thinking about any other possibilities. We did come up with a sort of off-the-wall idea, which we ran by the consultant (Michael Antisdel) who did the estimate on our job, and he said he would determine when they came out if it would in fact work. The idea did work (barely!), but it definitely gave the crew doing the job a real challenge to accomplish it. We are extremely grateful to Steve, San & Michael for their efforts and expertise. I contacted Maki to get their sale price for the first servicing on my year-old ductless system. Nathan answered all the questions I had on ductless maintenance and offered tips on how to get the most out of the 2-head system I have. He also examined the HVAC ducting under the house at no charge (he didn’t see any problems) and advised me on using HVAC filters most cost-efficiently.I appreciate there was no upselling, and I am so happy with the service, I’ll be changing to Maki for regular 6-month maintenance on both my ductless and HVAC.

We just had our semi-annual heating and air check-up by Joe with Maki Heating and Air. As always, the experience was positive. A few years ago, we signed up for the twice-a-year check up which has proven to be very handy for us. A couple years ago, our spring service discovered that we had damage from rodents that had chewed through wires outside. Had we not had this check up, it would have been discovered on the first scorchingly hot day of the year when we would have discovered the AC wouldn’t work and we would have been “in line” with lots of families with similar discoveries. Instead of that ordeal, it was discovered in early spring and repaired promptly making us ready for the hot days to come!This spring, Joe discovered a small issue, the repair of which would prevent further issues when the heat came. He ordered the part to be installed next week.The Maki office staff is efficient in making appointments, following up with a reminder call for the appt, and a morning “day of” call to give a time line. A/C went out at 5 PM on Sunday in the middle of a holiday weekend and 107 degree temperatures. Called Maki who walked me through a couple of possible fixes but they didn’t work. I live with my elderly mother and her HVAC simply up and died. We know nothing about these systems. My lifelong solution has been to call the landlord and go shopping while he gets it fixed, but sadly, not this time. The first company quoted us around $2,000 in repairs for various parts of the unit which really wouldnt be worth it on this unit so probably we should consider getting a new one which would run from $5,000-10,000. Uh-huh. I may be ignorant of HVAC systems but Im not a total moron.Maki came next. Steffen was the tech - a very capable and businesslike young man who was very tolerant and helpful with my mothers odd questions, not to mention mine. He tested various things, he cleaned things, replaced a capacitor (for a motor the previous company said needed replacing), checked a few more things, found another issue that the other guy didnt even see and fixed it too, billed us a couple hundred dollars, and voila - we have heat and the system is now working just fine.Thank you so much to Maki for hiring a qualified, competent, personable yet businesslike technician, and thank you Maki for being an honest company that did not take advantage of two little old ladies who could have easily been scammed. Maki had been the HVAC contractor when we had a home built in the 1990s and returned to them when we needed a the systems in the house we live in now. They replaced our older furnace and air conditioning systems with new efficient systems. They were able to give a variety of options and explain these options to us. Wow what a difference! Maki did the work in a clean and efficient manner. They followed up with a air condition check up at the beginning of summer and now are doing a furnace check up before it gets cold.

I was having an issue with my air conditioning. Maki tech said that my evaporator was leaking coolant and that my pressure was very low. He said that I should replace the evaporator and refill with freon at the low, low price of $2500. I had a second company come out, who found that I had a plugged check valve but no leaks and full coolant. The second company replaced the check valve and in an hour, I was back to running normally at a price of less than $200. I would not recommend Maki under any circumstances and this was not my first bad experience with them.

Joe came out to our home in Colfax to do a heating tune up and duct inspection. He pointed out that our HVAC system was 15 years old, which is the max life, but that it seems to be in very good condition for its age (we dont use it very much). We went ahead and got an estimate for a new one so we can plan for it when the time comes. I appreciated their honesty without the sales pressure. Michael, the estimator, even went into my attic to make sure the current systems supports were in tact because there was some sagging on the roof. Not to mention helped me get rid of a dead rat haha! Called them Saturday night during a heat wave after our AC went out (2 small kids so they were unable to sleep it was that hot) didnt expect to hear back until Monday. 5 minutes after I left a voice-mail got a text from them and they had me scheduled for Sunday.Tech shows up Sunday right on time diagnoses the problem, fixes the issue and optimizes our system inside. Rick arrived on time and was quickly able to find the repeating squeak in our furnace. He was able to manually adjust the internal components to remove the squeaking; however, he advised us that it might return and that the furnace was experiencing some internal metal erosion due to the propane gas used to fuel it. It will be evaluated during next years annual fall system check to determine if it needs to be replaced.The squeaking sound has intermittently returned, but is not audible except right next to the furnace unit in the garage.

Serviceman Brent came out and handled my issue and clarified my a/c problem to me. He serviced my a/c and was prompt and honest. Id have given 5 stars, but it seems I need a new capacitor, that can be replaced easily in 10 minutes or less. Its not on Brent, but MAKI wanted $188.00 for the installation and part. The part is about 15 bucks. 188 seemed excessive but I suppose that is standard pricing for many HVAC companies. I will install the capacitor myself for under 20 dollars, but Id use Maki again. Good expierence.
